Israel News - Israel wants U.S. endorsement of fence...
And they'll probably get it, too. - M. R.

The Israeli government could not have perpetrated a ghastlier and more counter-productive act than it did by killing the Hamas "spiritual leader" Sheikh Ahmed Yassin in cold blood. Millions across the globe were stunned at the sight of an old paraplegic in a wheelchair being shot with high-tech missiles.

Countless eyes were glued to the days of public testimony on March 23 and 24 before the "National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States." But the central verdict of this inquiry was decided before it even started: The U.S. government has (people would be told over and over again) been too restrained, too "risk-averse," too distracted, too worried about killing innocents, too worried about world opinion, too cautious about launching wars and assassinations.

Condoleezza Rice wants to bring democracy to the Middle East. Ms. Rice, an expert on what is now an obsolete subject, the Soviet Union, believes this can be done the way the United States brought democracy to Chile or Iran or Afghanistan - that is, by violently overthrowing governments.

The newspapers on December 30 reported that 477 American GIs had died in the war. But what is not usually reported is that for every death there are four or five men and women seriously wounded. The term "seriously wounded" does not begin to convey the horror. Sergeant Feldbusch's mother, Charlene Feldbusch, who, along with his father, virtually lived at his bedside for two months, one day saw a young woman soldier crawling past her in the corridor. She had no legs, and her three-year-old son was trailing behind.

* Resolution 673: " . . . 'deplores' Israel's refusal to cooperate with the United Nations.

Bush invaded Iraq supposedly for defying the United Nations. In hindsight, it trurns out Saddam really had gotten rid of his weapons of mass destruction. Here we have Israel, in defiance of far more UN Resolutions than Iraq, trying to provoke open war while the US Government looks th eother way. And if Sharon succeeds in starting a war, guess whose kids will be sent to die in it. - M. R.

We'd like to know how Clarke squares his contention that he was the only one in the Bush administration truly committed to thwarting terrorism before the Sept. 11 attacks with this: It was Clarke who personally authorized the evacuation by private plane of dozens of Saudi citizens, including many members of Osama bin Laden's own family, in the days immediately following Sept. 11.

For you newcomers, you are probably wondering how the same US Supreme Court that recently ruled that you have no right to refuse if a police officer asks you your name even when you have done nothing wrong could possibly and unanimously) rule that a dead man has a right to privacy about just how he died (a 180 that undoubtedly whiplashed several of the Justices' necks, no doubt).

Well, just as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Earl Warran was willing to sign his name to a cover-up of the JFK assassination, it seems our current crop of robe-fillers has decided to go along with the cover-up of the murder of White House Deputy Council Vincent Foster. The official story, as long-time readers will recall, is that Vincent Foster, supposedly under stress and on a hot july day, inserted a gun into his mouth and pulled the trigger without leaving his fingerprints or blood on the gun, or powder granules or bullet fragments from that gun in his wounds. Yep, that's the story the Supremes just bought, hook, line, and sinker, and are demanding you accept as fact. - M. R.

9/11 Commission Director: Iraq War Launched to Protect Israel...
It is time to start asking the question of why the US Government seems more concerned about the wishes of a foreign government than its own people. The US has commited the ultimate international sin; killing another nation. While no surprise to those of us who have been watching the war closely all along, (you know, those of us who knew there really weren't any weapons of mass destruction) Zelikow's remarks come as no surprise. A web search will show that Israel was cheering along the war all along AND providing the so-called "intelligence" about Saddam's weapons, "intelligence" which even Israel now admits was an "overestimate" (euphemism de jour for lying).

Parents of our slain war-dead, aware that the Iraq war was built on lies, can no longer even console themselves with the thought that their son or daughter died for their country, misguided as the country was. Your children were killed for for a foreign nation, offered up by the US Government as a blood sacrifice to Israel, traded for "campaign donations"

You think about that one for a while. - M. R.

"While the murder of a blind, crippled, wheelchair-bound quadriplegic outside a place of worship appears cowardly, and the inevitable blowback against Israel gives the impression Sharon has lost his mind, the strike is part and parcel of a consciously calculated game plan that is perfectly rational within the framework of Zionist logic. For the assassination of Hamas’ main symbolic leader is designed to provoke it into an extreme ‘mega-terror’ act or a series of terror attacks, severe enough to marshal chauvinist-Israeli support for a final solution to the Palestinian problem – complete ethnic cleansing and removal of all Arabs from historical Palestine."
The manner chose by Sharon to carry out the killing should make it clear that the real goal was to make peace impossible, paving the way for all out war. - M. R.

The amendment marks the first time Congress has formally linked the U.S. military effort in Iraq to Israel.

"Israel has a right to defend itself," said President Bush. And against whom was Israel defending itself at dawn on Monday? A half blind and deaf paraplegic being wheeled out of a mosque after prayers, Sheik Ahmed Yassin was struck by missiles that blew him to pieces. Nine-eleven would not have occurred if the U.S. government had refused to help Israel humiliate and destroy Palestinian society.

Aljazeera.net asked the Israeli army spokesman in Tel Aviv to explain why Abdu would accept 100 shekels to get blown up and what good the money could possibly do? AS THIS MAGAZINE goes to press, a controversy swirls about the head of Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz. He is alleged to have "revealed," in an interview with writer Sam Tanenhaus for the Manhattan celebrity/fashion glossy Vanity Fair, that the Bush administration's asserted casus belli for war against Saddam Hussein--the dictator's weapons-of-mass-destruction program--was little more than a propaganda device, a piece of self-conscious and insincere political manipulation. Lazy reporters have been following the lead of the press release

Yet it is her years at Stanford working with Perry that have rendered Rice silent. While working at Stanford, she became involved in the most successful Chinese army penetration of the Clinton Defense Department. She will not answer questions about her relationship with Chinese spy Hua Di.

The Democratic Facade...
Think we live in a real democracy? Think again. - M. R.

This footage, obtained and presented exclusively by The Memory Hole, shows President Bush sitting in a Florida classroom for 5 minutes after he was told that the second Twin Tower has been hit and that America was being attacked. A truncated version of this footage that has been available online since June 2002 shows Bush for only 2 minutes, 10 seconds after being told. This new footage more than doubles this length of time.
This video proves beyond all doubt that 9-11 was staged with the connivance of the administration. Think of how you would react if you were the President and someone whispered to you that the nation was under attack. Wouldn't you be surprised? Wouldn't you react? Wouldn't you give orders to activate whatever contigency plans were in place? Wouldn't you politely excuse yourself from reading about goats and GO DO YOUR JOB?

In rush to defend White House, Rice trips over own words...
There is something that most Americans, having grown up under a government based on daception, have forgotten. When someone is being truthful with you, there is never anything that needs to be hidden, no evasions, no "private only" testimony. Everything is on the table ready for examination without (as the federal oath states it) purpose of evasion or concealment.

Every single dodge carried out by the White House regarding 9-11, or the wars, or the economy, is proof that something is being hidden from you, and it is not even important what that something is. A government that feels it must hide itself from the people is a government that is no longer of the people, by the people, or for the people. Certainly it is not a government you should be giving half your wealth to. - M. R.

Eight Die as U.S. Troops Battle Rebels in Iraq Town...

Killing a few relatively low-level al Qaeda operatives might have been a worthy thing to do as part of a general plan, Wolfowitz told the commission, but it "certainly wasn't going to affect 9/11" except – as Rumsfeld already had noted – to make 9/11 seem like a retaliation.

"You can't just whack them without reason, George. At least take the time to make up some lies about weapons of mass destruction or something, at least try to LOOK like you have a justification to kill all those people." - M. R.

Judging by recent interviews Rumsfeld and Wolfowitz gave to a handful of media outlets during the past week, the short answer is yes, the public was mislead into believing Iraq posed an imminent threat to the United States.

If George Bush thinks his deceptive rationale for going to war is a laughing matter, then he's even more out of touch than we thought.

Rice, who has spoken frequently and written about the administration's pre- and post-Sept. 11 strategy, still would not testify publicly before the panel, as the members and many relatives of victims of the 2001 terrorist attacks want.
You do not have to read any further. "still would not testify publicly before the panel". This latest meeting is just damage control. Rice dares not allow herself to be questioned in public, lest someone ask her how hew office was able to warn Willie Brown not to fly on 9-11. - M. R.

The program, created by a presidential decree and never submitted for congressional approval, was financed by a secret slush fund, pulling in hundreds of millions of dollars each year. It edged briefly into the light during the first Bush administration, when allegations were raised about -- what else? -- financial corruption, funneling the program's public money to private cronies in sweetheart deals.

There he sits before the third version of the first public committee to investigate 911. Rummy came again to the pulpit of a committee inquiry, smug and arrogant with pat assertions that squirt from both sides of his bought and paid-for oratory. But this time he has uttered a phrase that condemned the policies of his own dictatorial administration. Look at what they've done, as opposed to what they continue to say.

U.S. wrong on Libya, group says...
No, the US is LYING, and the proof is a simple one. Were these simply errors, there would be as many underestimates as overestimates. But the US claims are consistantly overblown, proving an intentional bias is at work. - M. R.

"One of al-Qaeda’s most dangerous figures has been revealed as a double agent working for MI5, raising criticism from European governments, which repeatedly called for his arrest.
Do you get it yet? "Al Qaeda" was CREATED BY GOVERNMENT INTELLIGENCE AGENCIES to drive you into a war on the Arabs and Arab oil you otherwise would have refused. You have been snookered, conned, flim-flammed, hoaxed, scammed, deceived, fooled, swindled... - M. R.

Randall Robinson, who accompanied Haitian President Jean-Bertrand Aristide on his historic return trip back to the Caribbean, reveals that National Security Adviser Condoleeza Rice is telling the Jamaican government if Aristide is not immediately expelled from the country and anything happens to American forces in Haiti, consequences would be exacted against Jamaica in full force by the U.S.

Trying to blunt allegations the Bush administration mishandled terror threats before Sept. 11, the White House is offering to let President Bush's top national security aide meet privately for a second time with a federal panel investigating the terrorist attacks.
Note the "private" so that nobody can ask Rice how she knew to warn Willie Brown not to fly on 9-11. - M. R.

CNN.com - NTSB to blame copilot for EgyptAir crash...
That the same NTSB caught in court rigging their own tests and lying about the results on TWA 800? This the same NTSB claimed a noseless 747 with a wingbox supposedly shattered by a fuel explosion could still fly and climd thousands of feet? This the same NTSB that publicly accused witnesses who saw a missile hit TWA 800 of being drunkards? That NTSB? - M. R.

US Blocks UN Rebuke of Israel for Assassination (commentary)...
Reading Negroponte's words, it sounds like the US tried to put the blame for the killing on Yassin himself. - M. R.

Meanwhile, the UN Human Rights Commission in Geneva has overwhelmingly backed a resolution condemning grave violations of human rights by Israel, particularly the assassination of Sheikh Yassin.

Israel 'fabricated' child-bomber story...
It did seem rather out-of-character that the child was still alive, given the IDF's penchant for shooting anything that looks at all dangerous (and more than a few things that do not). - M. R.

Calls for calm as the world condemns Israeli action...
Yassin went to the same mosque every morning. Had Israel wanted him dead, a sniper could have done it. The particular method chosen, of attacking with missiles and killing bystanders, was an act of terror, intending to provoke the Arab world. - M. R.

9-11 is a SCAM!...

But that explanation does not deal with another point of contention yesterday, the President's daily, top-secret, intelligence briefing from the CIA on 6 August 2001, which the White House has refused to release. It is known however that this "PDB" warned of the possibility of terrorists using airliners for an attack - leading to accusations of a cover-up.

At the Dec. 13 State Department briefing, Jones asked Powell: "There were 60 Israeli citizens who have been picked up in the post-Sept. 11 sweep, many of whom, if not all of whom, are connected to Israeli intelligence... Are you concerned about such intelligence operations on U.S. soil, and have you taken up this issue with your counterpart in Israel?"

Secretary Powell responded: "I'm aware that some Israeli citizens have been detained, and I've been in touch with the Israeli government as to the fact that they have been detained, in making sure that they have rights of access to Israeli diplomatic personnel here in the United States.

With respect to why they are being detained, and the other aspects of your question, whether it's because they are in intelligence services or what things they were doing, I will defer to the Department of Justice and the FBI to answer that; because, frankly, I deal with the consular parts of that problem, not the intelligence or law-enforcement parts of that problem."

‘Your government failed you’ Bush's ex-terror adviser apologizes to 9/11 kin, says administration didn’t pay attention to his warnings on al-Qaida...
It should be obvious by now that Clarke is the "limited hangout" guy, pretending to be a whistleblower saying that Bush "missed" Al Qaeda", while really working with Bush to conceal a far greater crime, that 9-11 was a manufactured and staged terror event to be framed on Arabs to kick off a war of conquest. Seen Clarke get on Condi Rice's case for not testifying? He won't. He knows that Rice warned Willie Brown not to fly on 9-11 and can never be allowed to testify publicly for fear of that one issue. - M. R.

If the final report of this 9/11 commission does indeed turn out to be a whitewash, the Four Moms from New Jersey have a backup plan. Provided there is a change of leadership, they will petition the new President to create an independent 9/11 commission. As if one never existed before.
