Noting that Israel is currently threatening world peace and security with its nuclear arsenal, the article said the fact that Israel possesses nine facilities for production of fission nuclear weapons as well as hydrogen and neutron bombs "is a real threat to the world and particularly the critical Middle East region." stressing that millions of Muslims all over the world are in consensus that Zionism is the enemy of humanity, the paper said, "Indeed, it is odd that the world has remained silent about Israel's refusal to sign the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) but opposes Iran's civilian nuclear activities."

What I saw was a cabal between the vice-president of the United States, Richard Cheney, and the secretary of defense, Donald Rumsfeld, on critical issues that made decisions that the bureaucracy did not know were being made...Now it is paying the consequences of making those decisions in secret, but far more telling to me is America is paying the consequences.

Pixar has produced only CG features and nothing but blockbusters since it started producing movies in 1995, while many of the Disney-generated animated movies during the period were considered box office flops.

After the seizures in late 1942 of five U.S. enterprises he managed on behalf of Nazi industrialist Fritz Thyssen, Prescott Bush, the grandfather of President George W. Bush, failed to divest himself of more than a dozen "enemy national" relationships that continued until as late as 1951, newly-discovered U.S. government documents reveal.

U.S. senators -- who draw salaries of $162,100 a year and enjoy a raft of perks -- have rejected a minimum wage hike from $5.15 an hour to $6.25 for blue-collar workers. Can you believe it?

The proposed increase was sponsored by Sen. Edward Kennedy, D-Mass., and turned down in the Senate by a vote of 51 against the boost and 49 in favor. Under a Senate agreement, it needed 60 votes to pass.

All the Democrats voted for the wage boost. All the negative votes were cast by Republicans.

The Bush regime told lies to get support for its pre-emptive war against a country that posed no threat to our borders. Rep. Aspartame Gate: When Donald Rumsfeld was CEO of Searle...

If we define Zionism as the struggle to create Israel, then complaining about Zionism is complaining about the struggle to create Israel. This has nothing to do with Jews, Catholics, atheists, or any other race or political party. Therefore, anti-Zionism is not anti-Jew.

If a group of Mormons decide to create a nation for themselves in New Zealand, am I required to provide financial, emotional, and military support? Is Cindy Sheehan required to send her children to New Zealand to help develop the Mormon nation? If I complain that I do not want to support the creation of a Mormon nation, am I anti-Mormon?

If a group of Catholics decide to create a nation for themselves in Palestine, am I required to provide them with financial, emotional, and military support? Is Cindy Sheehan required to send her children to Palestine to help develop the Catholic nation? If I complain that I do not want to support the creation of a Catholic nation, am I anti-Catholic?

A hundred years ago a group of Jews decided to create Israel in Palestine. Why should any of us be required to support their activities? Why are we anti-Semitic when we complain that we are tired of giving tax money to Israel? Why should Cindy Sheehan be required to send her children to die for Israel?

Many Jews have no desire to support Israel, and if they can oppose Israel, so can us goyim. Or, if opposing the creation of Israel is "anti-Semitic", then there is nothing wrong with being anti-Semitic.

This is the story of how Erin Malloy, Irvington residents – and especially Susan Brenner-Morton – discovered the true depths of the national Republican strategy for "winning" elections by disenfranchising voters and turning perfectly good votes into bad votes.

A parade of FDA officials, Commissioners included, have hired into the aspartame business. Every test endorsing it was paid for by the manufacturer. All independent studies say its toxic. The Italian researchers declared it's a Multi-Potential Carcinogen. Neurosurgeon Russell Blaylock, M.D., author of Excitotoxins: The Taste That Kills says: "This study should terrify mothers and all those consuming aspartame sweetened products. This was a carefully done study which clearly demonstrated a statistically significant increase in several types of lymphomas and leukemias in rats. Both of these malignancies have increased significantly in this country since the widespread use of aspartame." FDA has received more complaints on aspartame than all other food additives combined, so they stopped taking complaints.

The US National Security Agency has kept secret a 2001 finding by its own historian that its officers deliberately distorted critical intelligence during the Tonkin Gulf episode that helped precipitate the Vietnam War.

The historian's conclusion was the first serious accusation that the agency's intercepts were falsified to support the belief North Vietnamese ships attacked US destroyers on August 4, 1964, two days after a previous clash.

To begin with, Shaler's office could not identify the three by name. That's because the 10 DNA profiles used to make the first matches were supplied by the FBI without names attached.

"No names, just a K code, which is how the FBI designates 'knowns,' or specimens it knows the origins of," Shaler wrote. "Of course, we had no direct knowledge of how the FBI obtained the terrorists' DNA."

Firstly, the bill is so dangerous because as ever it hands over more power to the federal government and effectively brings local law enforcement agencies under it's control. Allowing a centralized power structure to determine what is and what isn't "hate speech" or a "hate crime" is akin to tin-pot dictatorship. It means that there will be a broad overarching definition of what kind of speech is against the law according to which federally protected groups become offended by the opinion of someone else.

Libby did not lie, commit perjury, and obstruct justice for no reason. As Fitzgerald made clear, these are serious crimes. For a high government official to commit such crimes, the crime being covered up must be very serious indeed.

The crime is the falsification of intelligence in order to deceive Congress and the American people.

Since Saddam was toppled more than two years ago, the Bush administration has been waiting anxiously for both events as potent signals that Iraq was moving past dictatorship and toward democracy. The hope was the two events would provide inspiration not just in Iraq, but also in the entire Middle East, propelling people to seek more democracy in their own countries and to begin seeing some good out of a war most of them opposed.

Instead, both the Iraqi referendum on the constitution and Saddam's trial are likely to intensify the anger between Iraq's Sunnis and its Shiite and Kurdish populations and the dismay in much of the Arab and Muslim worlds. And that means we face the possibility not only of more sectarian strife in Iraq, but also increased chances that other countries and groups will join the fray as providers of arms and even fighters.

There is no evidence that Addington has done anything outside the law, or that Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald has regarded him as anything other than a witness during the two-year probe that led to Libby's indictment. There is also no evidence that Addington was cognizant that Libby had allegedly leaked classified information on Plame to the media.

But Addington was deeply immersed in the White House damage-control campaign to deflect criticism that the Bush administration misrepresented intelligence information to make the case to go to war with Iraq, according to administration and congressional sources.

As an example the unnamed official told delegates that Tanweer argued with a cashier that he had been short changed, after stopping off at a petrol station on his way to the intended target in London.

The official told the seminar held in Preston, Lancashire two weeks ago: "This is not the behaviour of a terrorist - you'd think this is normal.

"Tanweer also played a game of cricket the night before he travelled down to London - now are these the actions of someone who is going to blow themselves up the next day?

The Secretary of Defense, the man who allegedly supported the use of contrived intelligence to justify the war on Iraq, is now poised to reap huge gains for a flu panic his Administration has done everything it can to promote. It would be useful to know whether the Pentagon’s successor to Douglas Feith’s Office of Special Plans developed the strategy of biowarfare behind the current Avian Flu panic. Perhaps some enterprising Congressional committee might look into the entire subject of plausible conflicts of interest regarding Secretary Rumsfeld.

Anita and Cara were considered model employees at Weyco, an insurance consulting firm outside of Lansing, Mich., both having worked at the company for years. The women sat side-by-side, sharing workloads – and after work – sharing the occasional cigarette.

But at a company benefits meeting two years ago, the company president announced, "As of January 1st, 2005, anyone that has nicotine in their body will be fired,” Anita remembers. “And we sat there in awe. And I spoke out at that time. ‘You can't do that to us’ And then he said, ‘Yes, I can.’ I said, ‘That's not legal.’ And he came back with, ‘Yes, it is.’”

Legally, there are no significant differences between the investor fraud perpetrated by Enron CEO Ken Lay and the prewar intelligence fraud perpetrated by George W. Bush. Lost in the hubbub surrounding the "outing" of Valerie Plame, is the story of Plame’s CIA front company, Brewster Jennings and Associates. B.J. & A was based in Boston and was "intended to infiltrate ties between groups involved in smuggling nuclear weapons. Since NOCs (CIA agents under nonofficial cover) usually work at companies set up by the CIA as fronts, it has been speculated that other employees of the company may have been doing work similar to Plame. If that were true, the damage done by leaking Plame’s name would be vastly multiplied, as all the other NOC’s would be compromised"

FLASHBACK: Iran, Syria Pact Raises Eyebrows...

Silence is the sound of surrender. The sound of fear. Creating fear is the quickest way to achieve silence. Who benefits from the silence? Who would want to mute the mouths of Americans? You ask yourself that question; don't run around asking everyone else until you can answer it. It is not a trick question. It is a very simple question and has been answered by generations of the past. Rome, Germany, Russia, France, and China are prime examples of a people that were silent. As the past will prove, it is not an imaginary organization that benefits from a nations silence. Indeed, it is the leaders of that nation’s government which benefits from the silence.

THE fall-out from the Plame affair now engulfing Washington will extend to Britain. But there may be one significant difference in the way the two leaders, Bush and Blair, will be affected. Iraq has already severely damaged Tony Blair; his association with George W Bush and US foreign policy has already weakened him. Bush may still be expecting worse is to come. For Blair, Iraq and its fall-out has all but destroyed his legacy.
When does he get his trip to the tower? After all, what Tony Blair has done is as great a crime as that committed by Charles I. - M. R.

"In 2005-2006, The Tehran government has developed a plan to begin competing with New York's NYMEX and London's IPE with respect to international oil trades - using a euro-denominated international oil-trading mechanism. This means that without some form of US intervention, the euro is going to establish a firm foothold in the international oil trade." "Iran's oil bourse will start trading by early 2006" "One of the Federal Reserve’s nightmares may begin to unfold in 2005 or 2006, when it appears international buyers will have a choice of buying a barrel of oil for $50 dollars on the NYMEX and IPE - or purchase a barrel of oil for €37 - €40 euros via the Iranian Bourse. This assumes the euro maintains its current 20-25% appreciated value relative to the dollar - and assumes that some sort of "intervention" is not undertaken against Iran." "NEWSWEEK has learned that the CIA and DIA have war-gamed the likely consequences of a U.S. pre-emptive strike on Iran's nuclear facilities. No one liked the outcome. Ahmadinejad has a violent solution. He cited the late Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini: “Israel must be wiped off the map.”

Here Ahmadinejad words accord completely with the expectations of Israel’s first Prime Minister, David Ben Gurion:

Why should the Arabs make peace? If I was an Arab leader, I would never make terms with Israel. That is natural: we have taken their country. Sure, God promised it to us, but what does that matter to them? Our God is not theirs. We come from Israel, it’s true, but two thousand years ago, and what is that to them? There has been anti-Semitism, the Nazis, Hitler, Auschwitz, but was that their fault? They only see one thing: we came here and stole their country. Why should they accept that? [3]

Was Ben Gurion therefore anti-Israel?

Hariri was assassinated by a small group of professional assassins, headed by a man who calls himself either Robert H. Lewis, Robert Alan Lewis or Robert Hall Lewis. In actuality, his real name is Robert Lipschitz, born on June 23, 1935. He has two American social security numbers: 451-76-4488 and 114-07-8811. Lipschitz/Lewis, who holds Israeli citizenship although born in the Untied States, has very strong, albeit secret, connections with the U.S. Pentagon, in specific, a secret Pentagon committee, set up by Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld in October 2001

The secret committee, which prepares false or misleading information for Rumsfeld to use in his reports encouraging military actions in places other than Iraq, is called the Office of Special Plans, and initially was headed by Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz, Undersecretary of Defense for Policy Douglas Feith and other Pentagon hawks. Both this committee and its many and close friends in the Israeli Mossad determined that Syria should be the next target of Bush’s Imperial Expansionism in the Middle East and the removal of a very close and hostile neighbor, Syria, would be of great value to Israel.

The Sharon government is a giant laboratory for the growing of the anti-Semitism virus. It exports it to the whole world. Anti-Semitic organizations, which for many years vegetated on the margins of society, rejected and despised, are suddenly growing and flowering. Anti-Semitism, which has hidden itself in shame since World War II, is now riding on a great wave of opposition to Sharon's policy of oppression.

Sharon's propaganda agents are pouring oil on the flames. Accusing all critics of his policy of being anti-Semites, they brand large communities with this mark. Many good people, who feel no hatred at all towards the Jews, but who detest the persecution of the Palestinians, are now called anti-Semites. Thus the sting is taken out of this word, giving it something approaching respectability.

We have been warned. Prepare for a broader war in the Middle East, as plans are being laid for the next U.S. led regime change-- in Syria. A UN report on the death of Lebanese Prime Minister Rafig Hariri elicited this comment from a senior U.S. policy maker: “Out of tragedy comes an extraordinary strategic opportunity.” This statement reflects the continued neo-conservative, Machiavellian influence on our foreign policy. The “opportunity” refers to the long-held neo-conservative plan for regime change in Syria, similar to what was carried out in Iraq.

Uri Avnery warns that the campaign by Ariel Sharon to discredit, isolate and, eventually, eliminate Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has begun in earnest. The reason? To prevent the possibility of an "imposed peace that would compel Israel to return more or less to the pre-1967 border". With a lame duck president in the White House, Sharon appears to have calculated that now is the time to move against Abbas.

As it stands now, Fitzgerald has Libby on 30 years worth of counts and he's got him cold. No wiggle room. Libby may not do 30 years, but he ain't doing 6 months. Scooter's screwed. It was the Vice President's boon companion himself, David Gergen, who said on MSNBC today that this is squeeze time. John Dean reiterated it later on. It really matters little to a man of 55 whether he is looking at 30 years or 60 -- he'd rather have 60 thrown at him if some of them were shaky and he thought he could use the wobbly ones to get out of the rest.

There is no wobble in the indictments handed down today. It's pretty clear. Libby can cut a deal with Fitzgerald or swing.

Bush calls Iran and Syria 'outlaw regimes'...
This from the President who lied about weapons of mass destruction in order to launch an illegal war of conquest against an innocent nation? - M. R.

WITH THE indictment of Lewis Libby and possible indictment of Karl Rove, President Bush faces a fateful choice. Bush can adopt a bunker mentality and try to appease his base of social ultra-conservatives and military hawks who have brought him such grief. Or he can reach out to the broad mainstream, as he pretended to do when he ran as a ''uniter, not a divider" in 2000.
Or he can start "Dubya-Dubya-Three". - M. R.

With more than 38 million Americans too poor to buy adequate food, the US Congress has begun to take away the food stamps many of them receive.
But Israel still gets billions every year.

Do you get it? The US Congress is willing to starve Americans in order to continue to send money and weapons to Israel.

Many big investors keep a large portion of their wealth invested in US Treasury bonds. Over the past few weeks this previous safe haven for investment has started to slide on the back of rising interest rates. So is this the end of the long bond bull market?

Russia, China insist Iran has right to nuclear fuel cycle: vice president...
Are you getting it now? It isn't just Iran any more. It is Iran, Russia and China, together. If Bush attacks Iran because Israel says to, our kids will face a determined army equipped with modern weapons, while (to judge by our current situation in Iraq) the US forces will be rummaging in the trash for basic supplies. - M. Tom Lantos 'outraged' at Iran's comments on Israel...
Hey Tom. Look down. What is that nation your feet are standing on. THAT is the nation you are supposed to be worried about. I know Israel's lobbies have paid you $107,000 to sell out your country, but maybe going into an election year you could be a little less obvious about it? - M. R.

But don't take any of our kids with you to fight and die in another war just because Israel is offended that someone finally spoke to Israel the way Israel speaks to the Arab nations on a constant basis. - M. R.

Israel has launched fresh air strikes on the Gaza Strip after its defence minister dismissed the Palestinian leadership as a partner for peace and ruled out any foreseeable prospect of a Palestinian state.
Israel makes a great deal over their right to exist, yet denies that right for everyone else.

All this discord began when the UN created two states, Israel and Palestine, and Israel started out refusing to recognize Palestine. This prompted the other Arab nations to refuse to recognize Israel and the whole region has been going to hell in a hand basket ever since. If Israel would only learn to accord to other people the same rights it demands for itself, none of this would be happening. - M. R.

The real reasons for regime change in Syria have less to do with Hariri’s assassin and more to do with oil and Israel.

"It’s widely known that Israeli Intelligence (Mossad) is already operating in Mosul where the pipeline will originate and have developed good relations with the Kurds in the area. The only remaining obstacle is the current Syrian regime which has already entered the US-Israeli crosshairs. Originally, the pipeline was the dream of the Israeli Minister for National Infrastructures, Joseph Paritzky, who said that it would “cut Israel's energy bill drastically - probably by more than 25 per cent - since the country is currently largely dependent on expensive imports from Russia.”

'It has long been a dream of a powerful section of the people now driving this administration and the war in Iraq to safeguard Israel's energy supply as well as that of the United States. The Haifa pipeline was something that existed, was resurrected as a dream, and is now a viable project - albeit with a lot of building to do.”

Pentagon Plans Iran Attack Over Oil Euro Marker By Christmas 2005...
"Considering the extensive financial and national policy investment Iran has committed to its nuclear projects, it is almost certain that an attack by Israel or the United States would result in immediate retaliation. A likely scenario includes an immediate Iranian missile counterattack on Israel and U.S. bases in the Gulf, followed by a very serious effort to destabilize Iraq and foment all-out confrontation between the United States and Iraq's Shi'i majority. Iran could also opt to destabilize Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states with a significant Shi'i population, and induce Lebanese Hizbullah to launch a series of rocket attacks on Northern Israel." "it appears increasingly likely the U.S. will use the specter of nuclear weapon proliferation as a pretext for an intervention, similar to the fears invoked in the previous WMD campaign regarding Iraq." "Pentagon sources confirm the Bush administration could undertake a desperate military strategy to thwart Iran’s nuclear ambitions while simultaneously attempting to prevent the Iranian oil Bourse from initiating a euro-based system for oil trades. The later would require forced "regime change" and the U.S. occupation of Iran. Obviously this would require a military draft. Objectively speaking, the post-war debacle in Iraq has clearly shown that such Imperial policies will be a catastrophic failure. Alternatively, perhaps a more enlightened U.S. administration could undertake multilateral negotiations with the EU and OPEC regarding a dual oil-currency system, in conjunction with global monetary reform. Either way, U.S. policy makers will soon face two difficult choices: monetary compromise or continued petrodollar warfare." - M. R.

The War Crimes Act of 1996, a federal statute set forth at 18 U.S.C. § 2441, makes it a federal crime for any U.S. national, whether military or civilian, to violate the Geneva Convention by engaging in murder, torture, or inhuman treatment.

The statute applies not only to those who carry out the acts, but also to those who ORDER IT, know about it, or fail to take steps to stop it. The statute applies to everyone, no matter how high and mighty.

18 U.S.C. § 2441 has no statute of limitations, which means that a war crimes complaint can be filed at any time.

Dragging another pro-Israeli nuclear country into the mix?...

New York Times Publisher Arthur Sulzberger Jr. said Friday that the newspaper was far too slow in correcting its reports indicating Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction, but the blame did not lie entirely with Judith Miller, the author of many of the stories.
Judith Miller, who held a government security clearance and was described as a "Charter Member" of the White House Iraq Group, clearly intended to help the White House mislead the public. The NYT (and all the other corporate media outlets) delayed admitting there were no weapons of mass destruction until after the invasion of Iraq had already happened and there was no turning back. This was NOT an 'Institutional failure', because nobody will believe that the corporate media, with their huge staff and multi-million dollar operating budgets, failed to see the obvious signs of deceptions that blogs operating on spare change found under seat cushions all saw.

That Mr. Sulzburger is trying to take the heat off of Judith Miller suggests they were working together on the lies that sent your kids to war all along. - M. R.

The diplomat, Joseph Wilson, went to Niger in 2002 at the request of the Central Intelligence Agency to investigate allegations that Iraq tried to buy uranium to make a nuclear bomb. Mr. Wilson reported back that the uranium story was unfounded, and he later went public with that contention. But Mr. Cheney's team kept on pushing the claim, which was included in President Bush's State of the Union speech in 2003.

... As for Mr. Libby's case, the charges suggest that White House officials did, in fact, use Mrs. Wilson's classified CIA job as a weapon against a critic of administration policy - to smear his reputation or to warn off other dissenters. A jury will determine whether Mr. Libby broke the law as a result of that campaign. But it seems clear that he and other officials violated the public trust.

And as absorbing as this criminal investigation has been, the big point Americans need to keep in mind is this: There were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.

A Texas prosecutor asked Thursday for all e-mail sent and received in 2002 by three indicted associates of U.S. Rep. Tom DeLay as part of an investigation into an alleged campaign finance scheme.

“The Supreme Leader and his inner council see a window of opportunity for Iran right now, as the Americans are stuck in Iraq and the Europeans are divided over what to do”, he said. “They are telling everyone not to be afraid of threats of military action by the West, as this is only a bluff”.
Okay, here is a prediction.

Iran's game is to goad the Americans into invading Iran, knowing they are already weakened from Iraq. Then Iran will counter-invade, backed by Russia, and grab all of Iraq as well. Instead of the balkanized fragments of the Middle East, there will be a single United Islamic Republic, the very thing Israel sought to prevent.

Concerning the origins of the forged Niger documents, Patrick Fitzgerald’s office has recently received information and documents relating to this case from the Italian government. Yet there has been almost no investigation into some of the key players such as Rocco Martino, the Italian “security consultant” who attempted to sell the forged documents to a reporter in Rome in late 2002.

Rocco Martino has yet to be interviewed by the FBI because they claim that the Italian government has not allowed them to interview him, yet Mr. Martino has traveled to the United States twice in 2004 and still the FBI has not attempted to interview him.

Just as the FBI has not attempted to interview Dr. Philip Zack, the man actually caught on the security system entering the storage area where the anthrax used in the letters was kept.

It's almost laughable to watch various pundits and analysts focus so closely on the details of who leaked what and when, while completely missing the big, diabolical picture. Smearing Joe Wilson and leaking his wife's name to Judy Miller, Matt Cooper, Bob Novak, and the rest is just one small part of a much larger and prearranged plot orchestrated by the PNAC neocons since the first Gulf War ended and Bush 41 lost re-election.
