Anyway, I’m generalising, but many of the fake cases involve jealous or bitter relationships, insurance jobs or happen as a way of getting someone out of trouble - by blaming some other poor bugger. Think I’m full of crap? I’ll let the articles speak for themselves…

In an about face, the United States on Friday withdrew a U.N. resolution endorsing this week's agreement by Israeli and Palestinian leaders to try to reach a Mideast peace settlement by the end of 2008, apparently after Israel objected.

Immortalized in Washington's Smithsonian Institution as "America's Legendary Daredevil," Knievel was best known for a failed 1974 attempt to jump Snake River Canyon on a rocket-powered cycle and a spectacular crash at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas. What a shame those hostages don't carry concealed weapons. This would be over by now.

"A young woman with a 6-month or 8-month-old infant came rushing into the store just in tears, and she said, 'You need to call 911. A man has just walked into the Clinton office, opened his coat and showed us a bomb strapped to his chest with duct tape."
Meanwhile, all the other candidates are evacuating their offices, trying to cash in on the free publicity. - M. R.

An armed man took at least two workers hostage Friday at a Hillary Clinton presidential campaign office in New Hampshire, police said.

Democracy doesn't come from the barrel of an M-16 and it can't be dropped from 30,000 ft like a Daisy Cutter. The Bush war in Afghanistan has brought only suffering and devastation. Thousands have been killed or displaced. Vast swathes of the countryside have been contaminated with radioactive dust that collects in clouds and sweeps across the interior-plains poisoning the groundwater and spreading cancer; another tragic memento of the US occupation that will last for decades.

Not since the grunge era and Brian Mulroney's days as prime minister has Canada experienced a winter quite as bitter as the one expected to creep in this December, Environment Canada forecasted on Friday.
We are having a very cool (for Hawaii) winter this year as well. - M. R.

The preparations for a mass invasion of Gaza are complete, said an Israeli source on Thursday. Israeli officials said the thousands of troops and dozens of tanks currently stationed on the Gaza border are not going to launch an invasion unless Palestinian resistance factions fire homemade shells across the border first.

The Israeli daily newspaper Maariv reported that the chances of a major Israeli incursion into the Gaza Strip have increased now the Annapolis conference is over.

"...chances of a major Israeli incursion into the Gaza Strip have increased now the Annapolis conference is over."

Increased, my astrolabe!

Israeli officials have been telegraphing that once Annapolis was out of the way, there would be a major military incursion into Gaza.

And watch for that right-on-cue lobbing of homemade shells - allegedly fired by Palestinian resistance factions - across the border to happen very, very soon as the justification for such an invasion. - M. R.

In most states, when a bank forecloses on a landlord, the tenant has no guarantee of being allowed to stay in the property. In addition, neither the bank nor the landlord has any legal obligation to inform the tenant of the foreclosure. Often, the renter first learns of the foreclosure when he or she is being told to vacate the property within a few days or weeks.

In violation of international and U.S. law, “thousands” of alleged terrorists have been victims of “extraordinary rendition” by the Bush Administration since 9/11, two legal scholars say. “Instead of working to bring those committing crimes against the United States to justice in U.S. courts, the Bush Administration seems intent on doing exactly the opposite---keeping such individuals away from U.S. courts, hidden in a web of secret prisons, underground interrogation cells, and in the hands of cooperative governments,” write Margaret Satterthwaite and Angela Fisher. Satterthwaite is an assistant professor of clinical law at NYU School of Law and Fisher served as assistant research scholar with the Center for Human Rights and Global Justice.

“Extraordinary renditions, whether originating in territories under U.S. control (actual or effective) or merely carried out by U.S. agents, are unlawful and in violation of international treaties to which the United States is a party,” the authors write. “Despite this clear prohibition, the Bush Administration continues to engage in this practice, using it to transfer detainees out of the reach of U.S. courts and into the realm of secret detentions and brutal interrogations.”

The U.S. efforts to seek a home for the Africa Command (AFRICOM) have suffered one more blow as the Arab Maghreb Union (UMA) stated strong opposition Tuesday to any foreign military establishments on the soil of African countries.

Palestinian police answerable to Palestinian Authority (PA) Chairman Mahmoud Abbas have been terrorizing non-conformist Palestinian journalists throughout the West Bank in a manner unprecedented since the creation of the PA following the Oslo Accords in 1993.

Assaults on journalists and cameramen increased dramatically recently especially in the aftermath of the American-hosted peace conference in Annapolis, Maryland.

Unlike police, firemen and paramedics do not need warrants to get into homes and other buildings during technical inspections of emergency facilities, making them particularly useful for spotting signs of terrorist planning.

The nationalism and anti-Americanism rife in Putin's Russia is blowback for our contemptuous disregard of Russian sensibilities and our arrogant intrusions into Russia's space. How did we lose a Russia that Ronald Reagan and Bush I had virtually converted into an ally?

We financed a pipeline from Baku through Georgia to the Black Sea to cut Russia out of the Caspian oil trade. After getting Moscow's permission to use old Soviet bases in Central Asia to invade Afghanistan, we set about making the bases permanent. We pulled out of the Anti-Ballistic Missile treaty over Moscow's objection, then announced plans to plant ABM radars in the Czech Republic and anti-missile missiles in Poland.

Putin has now responded in kind, and who can blame him?

This administration has to be comprised of the true "Keystone Cops" of foreign policy, to have turned a potential ally into an adversary so completely. - M. R.

Yes of course, we all want an end to bloodshed in the Middle East but the Americans are going to need Syria and Iran to support this – or at least Syrian support to control Hamas – and what do we get? Bush continues to threaten Iran and Bush tells Syria in Annapolis that it must keep clear of Lebanese elections, or else...
The folks in this administration can't seem to find anything approximating a sane foreign policy in this region (or any other, for that matter), with both hands and a flashlight. - M. R.

Rudy Giuliani faced fresh questions about his judgment last night amid claims that trysts with his mistress while he was New York’s Mayor cost taxpayers thousands of dollars.

Ron Paul's message of freedom is a uniting message. Look him up on youtube.com. His campaign is on a momentous upswing that is garnering solid support (no soft-money). Honesty in government is what we the people desire and will be the first step in restoring our ailing state and republic.

EFF "Test Your ISP" Project...
See story below about COMCAST - M. R.

The EFF tests used a packet sniffer called Wireshark at both ends of a connection: one on Comcast's network, one from elsewhere. Our tests confirmed that the RST packets were being forged and injected somewhere in the network between the two communicating parties. For example, if we call one end of the connection Alice and the other end Bob, Alice receives a number of RST packets (typically 3-5) from Bob, but Bob's packet sniffer has no record of his computer ever having sent them. Bob, in turn, receives a series of RST messages from Alice, but Alice's computer similarly has no record of having sent them. These inconsistencies in the packet logs at each end of the connection demonstrate that some intermediate party was forging traffic in both directions; each side receives forged RST packets that contain a sender IP address and TCP sequence number that falsely indicates that it was sent by the other.

Britain yesterday offered to be the first Nato country to send extra troops to Kosovo within weeks, as the Conservatives and Balkan experts warned of a potentially violent crisis brewing.

While David Cameron accused the Kremlin of stirring up trouble in the Balkans and warned of a new crisis by Christmas, Gordon Brown's government also risked Russian wrath by issuing a robust statement of support for quick Kosovan independence.

Authorities allege that the New Zealand suspect and 21-year-old Ryan Goldstein, who was indicted earlier this month in the United States, were involved in crashing a University of Pennsylvania engineering school server February 23, 2006.

Officials said that the server, which typically handles about 450 daily requests for Internet downloads, instead got 70,000 requests from the account of an unsuspecting Penn student over four days.

Over time, the FBI followed an electronic trail from that student's account to Goldstein's screen name, "Digerati," and the New Zealand hacker.

The United States has cautiously avoided traveling through the Taiwan Strait since 1996, when Taiwan's first presidential vote created turmoil. However, sources say that following China's rejection on November 21, six aircraft carriers, including the USS Kitty Hawk, moved in the South China Sea, crossing the Taiwan Strait.

Ryan Goldstein, a 20-year-old bioengineering major, conspired with a New Zealand hacker known as AKILL to use Penn's computer system as a staging ground for a 50,000-computer attack against several online chat networks, authorities said.

SERBIAN President Boris Tadic warned of ethnic unrest if Kosovo unilaterally declares independence, as a NATO commander said extra forces were being deployed to the Serbian province.

Kosovo President: Kosovo to declare independence in coordination with U.S., EU...
So we're not only going head to head about Kosovar "independence" (read: vast mineral resources) with Serbia: we'll also be going head to head - potentially militarily - with Russia, which rejects Kosovo splitting off from Serbia.

Russia is dealing with various regions of its own right now which, given their preferences, would probably pull out of the Russian orbit and declare their independence (like Chechnya). Russia fears a "domino effect" if Kosovo becomes independent from Serbia. - M. R.

DOW dips after rate-cut high start...

Has the bubble burst? The signs are ominous. For some months the property market has been cooling, the bubble showing distinct signs of strain.

The JFK Records Act of 1992, approved unanimously by Congress, mandated that all assassination-related records be reviewed and disclosed 'immediately.' When Morley filed his lawsuit in December 2003, thirteen published JFK authors supported his request for the records in an open letter to The New York Review of Books (www.nybooks.com/articles/16865). Eighteen months later, the CIA is still stonewalling. The agency now acknowledges that it possesses an undisclosed number of documents...which it will not release in any form. Thus records related to Kennedy's assassination are still being hidden for reasons of 'national security.'
Why are they being hidden, if JFK was really killed by a "crazed lone nut assassin?" The continued withholding of these records is itself proof that We The People have not been told the truth about the death of a President ... which means we have probably not been told the truth about pretty much ANYTHING. - M. R.

The US would send troops into Pakistan if intelligence was received enabling a strike at Al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden, AFP quoted US President George W Bush as saying on Wednesday.

Pakistan angrily reacted to the US president’s remarks he made in an interview to CNN, by saying, “such concerns have been expressed on a number of occasions. We have made it clear that any such action would be unacceptable.”

This has nothing to do with the dead guy (Bin Laden), and everything to do with opening up another potential front for an attack against Iran.

Take a good look at a map, and look at the south-west border of Pakistan.

And at the end of the day, if Musharraf and his government really think they will have any choice as to whether or not this happens, they are completely mistaken. - M. R.

The end of Free Speech in America has arrived at our doorstep. It's a new law called the Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act, and it is worded in a clever way that could allow the U.S. government to arrest and incarcerate any individual who speaks out against the Bush Administration, the war on Iraq, the Department of Homeland Security or any government agency (including the FDA). The law has already passed the House on a traitorous vote of 405 to 6, and it is now being considered in the Senate where a vote is imminent. All over the internet, intelligent people who care about freedom are speaking out against this extremely dangerous law.

The mortgage meltdown is taking a rising toll on the broader economy, increasing pressure on the Federal Reserve to slash interest rates for a third time next month in hopes of averting a recession.

Homeowners will see their property values sink by $1.2 trillion next year, and 524,000 fewer jobs will be created -- both a result of the trouble caused by loan defaults and rising foreclosures, according to a report released this week for the U.S. Conference of Mayors.

It was interesting to see the first Ron Paul question be something from a headphone wearing Gen X rottweiler wanting to know about whether Ron Paul was a conspiracy nut. The plane crashed on a mountain around 5,000 feet high, and rescuers initially had difficulty reaching the wreckage because of the rugged terrain, Atlasjet said. The crash site was seven miles from the airport.

"The pilot saw the airport and informed the tower that it was inbound. The plane then disappeared," Doganer said.

He said the cause of the crash was unknown, but ruled out technical failure and said the weather and visibility were good.

From the condition of the fuselage, it looks like the pilot was trying to put down the aircraft gently. The plane was too low for a catastrophic cabin depress. This one is odd. Best case scenario - you might end up with one of those annoying toolbars and pop-up ads for fake security software. Worst case? Your computer could be used to generate false-clicks for the attacker's pay-per click programs (so they infect your system so that you can make them money), or worse still, that bot could load other malware/worms/trojans onto the unprotected system. Further investigation also revealed that these SEO-poisoning attacks were targeted at Google, although other search engines may have also been victim to the attacks.

Folks, sooner or later the Neocon agenda will result in war between the United States and Russia, and that is EXACTLY what Israel wants. Russia has kicked out the oligarchs, and Israel's control over the US is on the wane, so their plan appears to be to trick the US and Russia into a mutually destructive war which will leave Israel and their nuclear arsenal in control of the world's remaining easily reachable oil.

At the time of its release, Popular Mechanics Editor James Meigs claimed that their investigation was "not political," and yet the foreword to their book is written by none other than GOP darling McCain, who re-hashes an abhorrent amount of Neo-Con detritus that relies solely on 9/11 having happened exactly as the government claims it did.

If ATC had provided the appropriate factual background it would have become clear that the Palestinians have legal rights that are being denied in violation of international law; it would have become clear that Israel has already stolen most West Bank water; it would have become clear that Israel regularly imposes collective punishment on the Palestinian People. In short, it would have become clear that Israel has its boot on the neck of the Palestinians in repeated and longstanding violation of UN resolutions and that these peace negotiations are not taking place on a level playing field.

Had ATC done its usual world event report, Israel would have looked bad. Americans would have learned that Israel is not an embattled democracy fighting for survival but an aggressive colonial force intent on imposing its will on its neighbors. This in turn would have translated into a barrage of calls, letters and e-mails from the American Zionist Network berating ATC and NPR for "anti-Israel bias" and "anti-Semitism". Some large donors might have threatened to pull bequests.

So, fear--translated into self-censorship - is the most logical explanation for today's poor coverage.

Hubris and arrogance are too ensconced in Washington for policymakers to be aware of the economic policy trap in which they have placed the US economy. If the subprime mortgage meltdown is half as bad as predicted, low US interest rates will be required in order to contain the crisis. But if the dollar's plight is half as bad as predicted, high US interest rates will be required if foreigners are to continue to hold dollars and to finance US budget and trade deficits.

Which will Washington sacrifice, the domestic financial system and over-extended homeowners or its ability to finance deficits?

Keith Olbermann described this proposed legislation with a high degree of skepticism, saying sardonically, "The bill may end up as part of the Senate's wiretapping law, due for a vote next month -- after which the president will sign it and monkeys will fly out of his butt."

For more than two years, the Saudis have been offering Israel security and recognition by Arab states in return for a total withdrawal of Israeli forces from the occupied territories. What was wrong with that? Mr Olmert promised that "negotiations will address all the issues which thus far has been evaded". Yet the phrase "withdrawal of Israeli forces from occupied territories" simply doesn't exist in the text.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmedinejad's flirtation with those who deny the reality of the Nazi genocide has rightly been met with disgust. But another holocaust denial is taking place with little notice: the holocaust in Iraq. The average American believes that 10,000 Iraqi civilians have been killed since the US invasion in March 2003. The most commonly cited figure in the media is 70,000. But the actual number of people who have been killed is most likely more than one million.

The star-studded hue and cry to "Save Darfur" and "stop the genocide" has gained enormous traction in U.S. media along with bipartisan support in Congress and the White House. But the Congo, with ten to twenty times as many African dead over the same period is not called a "genocide" and passes almost unnoticed. Sudan sits atop lakes of oil. It has large supplies of uranium, and other minerals, significant water resources, and a strategic location near still more African oil and resources.

President Nixon's top national security adviser worried that Israel might produce nuclear warheads "clandestinely" and that Israel's ambassador to the United States at the time, Yitzhak Rabin — later Israel's prime minister — might "stonewall" the White House in its efforts to ascertain the Israel's true intentions, according to newly declassified documents.

The papers also show the Nixon administration possessed "circumstantial evidence" that Israel built its nuclear arsenal with "some fissionable material...illegally obtained from the United States" at an unspecified time prior to 1965.

Israel has long maintained a studied vagueness about whether it possesses nuclear weapons, however current Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert appeared to remove any doubts about the matter when, during a German television interview last December, he claimed Iran is "aspiring to have nuclear weapons, as America, France, Israel, Russia."

Commandant Gen. James Conway's plan, if approved, would deploy a large contingent of marines to Afghanistan, perhaps as early as next year. The reinforcements would be used to fight the Taliban, which US officials concede is now defending its territory more effectively against allied and Afghan forces.

The decision about which forces, if any, to send to Afghanistan has a political subtext. If the White House were to send more US forces into a country most Americans thought was already secure, Democrats would be sure to exploit the security retrogression during an election year.

The Taliban now controls over 50% of Afghanistan. You have to love the way this writer describes this state of affairs in the 2nd paragraph, where he states:

"The reinforcements would be used to fight the Taliban, which US officials concede is now defending its territory more effectively against allied and Afghan forces."

The NATO countries are refusing to send their troops into the more violent southern part of Afghanistan, so it's primarily US troops which are taking the brunt of of these attacks.

As with Iraq, we have never had anywhere close to the real number of "boots on the ground" to accomplish our original mission.

Worst of all, the Karzai government's corruption is making the Taliban look like the good guys to the Afghani people.

And if, in fact, Afghanistan is in a state this author characterizes as a "security retrogression" (i.e., we're getting our ass kicked), every honest political candidate, from every party, should be yelling about it at the top of their lungs to their constituency. - M. R.

But the MOST tasty morsels, that Israel actually has had nuclear weapons since the 1960s, and that moreover they probably stole the fissionable material from the US to make them, is left out of this ABC News story. - M. R.

Venezuela threatened Wednesday to expel a U.S. Embassy official for allegedly conspiring to defeat a referendum championed by President Hugo Chavez, accusing the diplomat of plotting to sway public opinion.

The Bush Administration is calling this arrangement an "enduring relationship with a democratic Iraq". While this imperial arrangement is the exact opposite of what the American taxpayers are demanding, this is a victory for the Bush Administration, which has been quite clear that its intention is to keep our military in Iraq.

In reality, this deal is a treaty between President Bush and Prime Minister Maliki. However, because President Bush decided not to call it a treaty and instead a "Declaration of Principles for Friendship and Cooperation", the Bush Administration is going to use those semantics to circumvent Senate approval.

Not that the senate would give Bush any real reason for anxiety on this: the general tendency of the 110th congress to date has been to roll over, play dead, and give Bush anything he wants. - M. R.

The issue for Israel is rather how to transform its Occupation from what the world considers a temporary situation to a permanent political fact accepted by the international community, de facto if need be or, if apartheid can be finessed in the form of a two-state solution, then formally.

“There is circumstantial evidence that some fissionable material available for Israel’s weapons development was illegally obtained from the United States about 1965,” Mr. Kissinger noted in his long memorandum.
Maybe that's why the Israeli consulate in New York is a radioactive "hot spot" according to NEST surveys.

I remember when there was a huge MUF (Material Unaccounted For) scandal at the Savannah River plant, and how the media swept it under the rug by saying that "experts" concluded the missing bomb material was "probably" coated along the inside of the pipes in the refinement system. - M. R.

Giuliani's business contracts tie him to the man who let 9/11's mastermind escape the FBI.

The macabre, 17th-century book tells the story of the 1605 Gunpowder Plot and is covered in the hide of Father Henry Garnet.

The priest, at the time the head of the Jesuits in England, was executed May 3, 1606, outside St. Paul's Cathedral in London for his alleged role in a Catholic plot to detonate 36 barrels of gunpowder beneath the British Parliament, an act that would have killed the Protestant King James I and other government leaders.

Author Naomi Wolf, who made headlines earlier this year after she identified the ten steps to fascism that were being followed to a tee by the Bush administration, spoke publicly for the first time yesterday about the origins of what we see unfolding today, Prescott Bush's attempt to launch a Nazi coup in 1930's America.

It is ironic—indeed, tragic—that hardline Zionist leaders, who constantly (and rightly so) remind us to not forget the atrocities of fascism, so callously distort the socio-economic and historical characteristics of fascism in order to use it in the service of their short-sighted and misguided agenda for the Middle East. They hope—in vain—that they can permanently keep the occupation of the Palestinian land by force, and that by destroying Iran and/or other opponents of occupation the Palestinian question would somehow go away. Yet, as the late Albert Einstein put it, peace can be achieved only by understanding, not force.

If Israel is attacked by Iran, "we would support Israel," U.S. President George Bush said Wednesday on CNN.

McCain accused Paul of what he called the same sort of appeasement that allowed Hitler to take power and WWII to happen, and told him he’d just returned from Iraq and said he had a message for Ron from “the troops” — and the audience let him have it. Paul put it right back in his face by reminding him that he has received more donations from active duty military personnel than any other Republican candidate.

The European Central Bank has promised to supply the money markets with an extra ¿30bn (£22bn) in one-week funds, in another indication that the credit crisis is far from over. The ECB sold ¿178bn of these funds to eurozone financial institutions, compared with the ¿148bn it had previously said the banks would need for routine business.

Should Washington insist that Israel rein in its development of nuclear weapons? What would the United States do if Israel refused? Perhaps the solution lay in deliberate ambiguity, or simply pretending that America did not know what Israel was up to.
Nixon's papers confirm that Israel has had nuclear weapons since the 1960s. - M. R.

For those who do not already know, on the morning of September 11, 2001, a New Jersey housewife by the name of “Maria,” observed five suspicious men in her apartment complex. The five young men were filming the burning WTC towers, jumping up and down, cheering, and high-fiving each other. They were also lighting their lighters and holding them up in the air, as if at a rock concert. While the rest of the country was in a state of shock and tears, these five Israelis were clearly celebrating our nation’s greatest at-home tragedy. Maria called the police.

The police stopped the van the five Israelis (Mossad agents) were traveling in and found $4,700 in cash, fake IDs and passports, and boxcutters. One of the five Israelis said to the police officer (as reported by Barbara Walters): “We are not your problem. We are Israelis. Your problems are our problems. The Palestinians are your problem.”

The real question remains; did their video tape show the FIRST impact. If it did, then without question they had advance knowledge of what was to happen.

But we cannot know, because the UNITED STATE GOVERNMENT HAS CLASSIFIED THAT VIDEO TAPE.

GENOCIDE CONINUES IN PALESTINE DESPITE 'PEACE TALKS'...

CHINA is running out of fuel. Police are guarding petrol stations in several inland provinces to prevent fights, as shortages of petrol and diesel are causing huge queues of trucks, buses and cars.

The system is suffering from pressure of demand to sustain its economic growth at the current 11.5per cent - with China now the second-biggest consumer of oil after the US.

The health ministry in the PA caretaker government has announced that 45 Palestinians were killed over the past five months in the Gaza Strip due to the IOF closure of crossings.

The ministry in a report said that 450 cancer patients are waiting for proper treatment in Gaza and that almost 35% of them are children and 25% women, warning that they were in real danger due to absence of medication and IOF travel ban.

Israel really takes the prize when it comes to achieving new depths of inhumanity in their "collective punishment" of Gazans by refusing/postponing/denying medical treatment to sick Gazans.

Take a look at those numbers again: 35% of those desperately in need of treatment are kids. - M. R.

Central bankers are becoming nervous that a renewed credit crunch could destabilise financial markets around the end of next month, and the US Federal Reserve has pumped an initial $8bn (£3.9bn) into the market to help ease the mounting pressure.

In a highly unusual move, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York said yesterday that it was putting an additional $8bn into the financial system through 43-day loans, money that won't have to be paid back until 10 January. The duration of the loans is substantially longer than that in normal market operations by the Fed.

It is usually said that "the first casualty in war is truth." To that age-old maximum the New World Order has added something of its own. 'The second casualty of wars that do not end is reality.'

Today, the world is being treated to a global display of this fact from Annapolis, Maryland. Over forty countries are attending a farce of major proportions that is meant to finish fogging over the war-crimes of the last fifty years, with no end in sight. Their goal is to stretch a mosquito net of platitudes across the entire Middle-East, while changing absolutely nothing that matters in that war-torn hell.

The Chadian army says it has killed several hundreds of rebels during clashes near an area bordering Sudan's Darfur region - ending a lull in fighting.

No mention of timetable, boundaries of Palestinian state, refugees or Jerusalem leave few Palestinians who bothered to tune into live broadcast from Annapolis bitterly disappointed with outcome. In undeclared battle between the delegations over who would outmaneuver the other, Israel clearly finished on top

The Journal reports that Bloch called the tech support service Geeks on Call for help deleting computer files instead of using his agency's own in-house computer technicians. That company "dispatched a technician in one of its signature PT Cruiser wagons," according to Wilke, who adds that Bloch confirms contacting Geeks on Call but maintains it was part of an effort to "eradicate a virus that had seized control of his computer."

"Mr. Bloch had his computer's hard disk completely cleansed using a 'seven-level' wipe: a thorough scrubbing that conforms to Defense Department data-security standards," the report continues, describing a process which makes it "nearly impossible for forensics experts to restore the data later. Technicians were also directed to erase laptops used by Bloch's former political deputies, Wilke adds.

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's coalition partners on the Right - Israel Beiteinu and Shas - urged him on Tuesday to return from the peace talks in Annapolis straight to military moves in the Gaza Strip.

Israel Beiteinu leader Avigdor Lieberman and Shas chairman Eli Yishai said they would remain in the government until actual concessions are implemented, downplaying Olmert's pledges to make painful compromises after negotiations which will begin next month. But they made clear that to keep them satisfied, Olmert must act immediately to stop rocket attacks from the Gaza Strip.

Few Palestinian Authority officials are expecting anything concrete to emerge from this week's Middle East peace talks in Annapolis, Md. Instead, the talk is of war.

But the primary enemy for many Palestinians is no longer Israel - it is Hamas. Since Hamas took control of the Gaza Strip by force in June, supporters of Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah movement have been arrested, humiliated and tortured there by Hamas security forces. Several have been killed, according to the Palestinian Center for Human Rights and other agencies.

This is precisely the outcome Israel wanted (Palestinians fighting Palestinians), and it's right on cue. - M. R.

Two weeks ago, the Pentagon announced the "good news" that the army had met its recruiting goal for October, the first month in a five-year plan to add 65,000 new soldiers to the ranks by 2012.

But Pentagon statistics show the army met that goal by accepting a higher percentage of enlistees with criminal records, drug or alcohol problems, or health conditions that would have ordinarily disqualified them from service.

The push towards a global carbon credit mechanism continues to be one of the top agendas of the world elite. Despite the fact that numerous scientific studies have concluded that the entire solar system is getting warmer as part of a natural cycle, non-stop propaganda from the major corporate news networks continue to blame man made carbon emissions for planetary warming. In addition, the establishment media pushes unfounded claims that global warming will result in a myriad of environmental disasters. Despite the fact that man made global warming is a complete fraud, the world elite are selling fear as a way for them to bring in a world carbon credit enslavement system. This carbon credit system will be used as a funding mechanism to consolidate wealth into the hands of the big global corporations and to potentially fund regional and global governmental institutions.

In principle, Fox hasn't done anything wrong. News outlets edit AP content all the time, and the AP's senior managing editor told me that Fox was within its rights to make changes to the copy. He added that he doesn't think Fox's tweaks change the fundamental tone of the story.

I disagree. The emphasis on its home page and the altered kicker suggest Fox is getting in a dig at Paul, however minor it may be. But if Fox wanted to make Paul look like he was taking money from prostitutes and their patrons, why remove the detail about the donation box? I'm not asking for fairness or balance--just consistency.

One more detail that Fox inexplicably eliminated: The damning revelation that MSNBC anchor Tucker Carlson emerged from a limousine with prostitutes at a political event. Have Rupert Murdoch and Roger Ailes gone soft?
