Is ‘Putin Regime’ The ‘Evil Empire’ Of Today?

One of Ronald Reagan’s greatest contributions to the overthrow of communism and the disintegration of the Soviet Union was his identification of the USSR as “the evil empire,” a term that outraged Moscow but inspired many within its borders and prompted those beyond its borders to talk about decolonization as something inevitable.

Now, Nikki Haley, the US permanent representative to the United States, has introduced a term that has outraged Russian officialdom every bit as much Reagan’s words did. She has referred the government in Moscow as “Putin’s regime,” a turn of phrase that lumps it together with those of Kim in North Korea and Asad in Syria.

Russia’s permanent representative to the UN, Vasily Nebemzya was outraged.>>>

We’ve Lost the Opening Info Battle against Russia; Let’s Not Lose the War

***
For Russian President Vladimir Putin, the main goal is steady degradation of U.S. electoral processes and the tenor of our politics. Whether a specific candidate wins is less important than sowing doubt about the legitimacy of our elections in the minds of both the American people and those overseas who look to American democracy as a model. The Russian campaign includes not only efforts to hack voting machines and electoral rolls, but also the seeding of divisive issues through social media. To counter this insidious campaign, we must understand the underlying motives and methods of our adversary.

In Putin’s Russia, the truth threatens the regime, and, therefore, in a perversion of Winston Churchill’s aphorism, it is obscured at all times by a host of lies. Drawing on his experience as a KGB operative, Putin understands intuitively the power of propaganda, deceit, and false narratives.

(*What a coincidence ! I was just making my mind up that this article was a construct of propaganda, deceit, and false narratives !)

‘Russia sends most advanced fighter jets to Syria’

Russia has reportedly sent two of its most advanced and sophisticated fighter jets to Syria, where its air force has been backing up the national army's ground operation against terrorist groups.

The reported deployment comes after the US employed earlier this month its most advanced fighter jet, the F-22 stealth fighter, in strikes against alleged terrorist targets in Syria.

Reports say two of Russia’s Su-57 fifth-generation fighter jets had been recently spotted in the skies above Syria and then seem landing at the Hmeymim airbase in the country’s western Latakia province.

Sheriff-tied political committee accepts money from convicted felon Scott Israel booster convicted in tax evasion, gun cases

PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. - A political committee supporting Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel has raised $96,000 so far, much of it at an April fundraiser for Israel at developer and garbage company owner Ron Bergeron's ranch.

One of those leading the money list is developer Yoram Izhak, who is listed on campaign filings for "Citizens for Effective Law Enforcement" as giving $5,000 personally, with another $15,000 coming from companies listed at the building he owns in North Miami.

But what may be troubling for Broward County's top cop is that Izhak is also a convicted felon who was indicted 10 years ago in a massive organized crime case.

The crime ring was known as "The Corporation" or the "Cuban Mafia" and was allegedly involved in cocaine trafficking, arson, gambling and murder.

When Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel Was Accused of Corruption, He Responded: 'Lions Don't Care About the Opinions of Sheep'

Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel—the man whose agency failed to prevent the Parkland massacre despite having received a tip last November that Nikolas Cruz was plotting a mass shooting—has been accused of public corruption.

Two years ago, the Sun Sentinel reported that Israel was rewarding top political supporters by giving them and their family members cushy jobs doing public relations and community outreach for the Broward County Sheriff's Office. One such position, outreach manager, paid out a salary of $78,489. The person who got that job was the husband of Israel's campaign manager.

Breaking!: A report released Friday claims four of Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel’s deputies waited outside Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School while the attack was occurring.

Sheriff Israel is finished!

Now CNN reports that the Coral Springs police officers claim three other Broward County deputies were outside the school but failed to go inside as well. They quote “Coral Springs sources” who said the three “deputies had their pistols drawn and were behind their vehicles” when Coral Springs officers arrived. They said “not one of [the deputies] had gone into the school.”

The sources indicate other Broward County deputies arrived on scene, and two of those new arrivals joined with Coral Springs officers and entered the building.

The sources said, “Coral Springs police were stunned and upset that the four original Broward County Sheriff’s deputies who were first on the scene did not appear to join them as they entered the school.”

Australian weightlifting CEO wants Kiwi transgender lifter Laurel Hubbard banned from Commonwealth Games

Australia has asked for a transgender weightlifter to be banned from the Commonwealth Games, saying she has an unfair advantage over her rivals.

Kiwi Laurel Hubbard, 39, was granted permission to compete in this year's Gold Coast commonwealth Games for the women's weightlifting event.

Since then Michael Keelan, the CEO of the Australian Weightlifting Federation, disputed the decision to let the champion weightlifter compete in a letter.

According to the Sunday Telegraph Keelan wrote there was a significant disadvantage to female weight lifters.

"It is our strong view that weightlifting has always been a gender-specific sport, male and female, not a competition among individuals of various levels of testosterone," he wrote.

University of Canterbury students create world-first 3D-printed titanium engine

New Zealand has laid claim to an engineering world first - a 3D-printed titanium engine designed and built by a group of students at the University of Canterbury.

The feat of ingenuity was unveiled on Friday morning and will be used in the 2018 Shell Asia Eco-marathon in Singapore in March.

The University of Canterbury Eco-marathon team won the Design Award for their entry in last years' race - a 100 per cent recyclable car made of vacuum-formed thermoplastic, also a world-first.

The engine, which runs on ethanol, will be used in the re-used car body and the new and improved entry will come up against over 100 teams from tertiary institutes around the Asia-Pacific region.

University of Canterbury Eco-marathon student team leader Robbie Murray says that the team had worked extremely hard to produce the vehicle with the new engine.

Ancient ‘dark-skinned’ Briton Cheddar Man find may not be true

A Briton who lived 10,000 years ago had dark brown skin and blue eyes. At least, that’s what dozens of news stories published this month – including our own – stated as fact. But one of the geneticists who performed the research says the conclusion is less certain, and according to others we are not even close to knowing the skin colour of any ancient human.

The skeleton of Cheddar Man was discovered in 1903 in a cave in south-west England where it had lain for 10,000 years. …

The FBI Is Corrupt And Incompetent – Pelosi Says, "Give 'Em A Raise!"

No.

It’s to combat Russian Trolls.

Seriously, I kid you not.

This is a classic example of these people having a narrative prepped and scheduled to wrest control of the news cycle regardless of the optics. The goal is to create layer upon layer of fake news replete with fake (read: paid by George Soros) outrage — that’s what RussiaGate is all about.

The great gun control fallacy

Must every tragic mass shooting bring out the shrill ignorance of "gun control" advocates?

The key fallacy of so-called gun control laws is that such laws do not in fact control guns. They simply disarm law-abiding citizens, while people bent on violence find firearms readily available.

If gun control zealots had any respect for facts, they would have discovered this long ago, because there have been too many factual studies over the years to leave any serious doubt about gun control laws being not merely futile but counterproductive.

Places and times with the strongest gun control laws have often been places and times with high murder rates. Washington, DC, is a classic example, but just one among many.

Debt On Track To Destroy The American Middle Class

Economists report the household debt to be at its highest in decades. Yet, at the same time, we are being told that the economy is doing great. Does anyone see a serious contradiction?

In fact, the current economy only favors the wealthy owing to their flourishing financial assets such as stocks and bonds. Owing to the lack of real assets such as property and commodities, the middle and lower classes are becoming overwhelmed due to the serious consequences of the spending/debt cycle.

American consumers have a collective outstanding household debt of about $13.15 trillion of which nearly $1 trillion is the credit card debt alone, households are truly on a debt binge. These figures should be a wake-up call to all the Americans. The convulsive household debt has surpassed the bubble of 2008 and is still escalating. The economy may not be doing so great, after all.

War Preparations Against Venezuela as Election Nears

Black Alliance for Peace (BAP) published a newsletter that reported “troubling news of an impending military assault on the sovereign nation of Venezuela by states and forces allied with the United States.” Ajamu Baraka, the director, said the US is concerned that President Maduro will win the April 22 election, which would mean six more years in office. BAP urges people to include “No War On Venezuela” in actions being planned from February 16-23 for the 115th anniversary of the United States occupying Guantanamo.

Is the Path to War Through Border Disputes?

Webmaster's Commentary:

I called it correctly on Tidd's visit to Columbia a couple of weeks back; that plans were being discussed for "regime change" in Venezuela, if Maduro is re-elected.

The US government certainly wants to get its hands around Venezuela's vast oil reserves, and insure that the country only accepts the US dollar as payment for that oil.

mORE DRONES HEADED TO SOUTH KOREA

Recent reports by South Korean news media claim that the US will deploy attack drones to the Korean Peninsula in the next few months.

Twelve attack drones that can target North Korean leaders and military targets will be deployed in March or April, South Korean newspaper Chosun Ilbo reported this week.

According to the report, a hangar has already been constructed for the Gray Eagle drones. In addition, support facilities and personnel have reportedly already arrived at the US air base at Kunsan on the west coast.

The General Atomics MQ-1C Gray Eagle is an unmanned aircraft system developed by General Atomics Aeronautical Systems for the US Army. The Gray Eagle, which has an 18-yard wingspan, can conduct various missions including attack, reconnaissance, surveillance and infiltration. Its 248-mile range gives it enough reach to cover most of North Korean territory.

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF in fact these reports are true, North Korea is still in play as a target for US military action against it later this year.

If the US takes offensive action right after the games, China will be forced to support North Korea militarily.

IDF, US troops get ready for drill to simulate massive missile attack on Israel

The exercise will largely be performed through advanced computer simulations, though it will also include some real-world activities.

In total, some 4,500 soldiers from the two militaries will take part in the exercise — 2,500 of them from the United States’ European Command (US EUCOM) and 2,000 from the Israel Defense Forces. This is a substantial increase from the 2016 exercise, in which some 3,200 soldiers took part.

The Juniper Cobra exercise is scheduled to begin on March 4 and will formally run until March 15, though some American troops will stay in Israel and continue training with the IDF until the end of the month, the army said.

The threat from ballistic and guided missiles is one of the most significant threats facing Israel, and Israeli officials say it is growing.

Webmaster's Commentary:

One false flag, to be blamed on either Lebanon's Hezbullah or Iran, will kick of a major Middle East war, with American troops already in place for battle.

And note the timing of the exercise: it starts precisely when the AIPAC conference kicks off kicks off in DC, which is 4 March to 6 March.

I do not believe that the timing of this exercise is a coincidence; with Netanyahu expected to be indicted for corruption, he may well be moving the timing ahead for such a false flag to be put in place, to distract from his legal woes, and give him some bloody shirts to wave about at AIPAC, as the justification for going into Lebanon, Iran, or perhaps both.

Anti-gun laws force cancellation of Revolutionary War reenactment in California

Revolutionary War reenactors are accustomed to not firing until they see the whites of their enemy's eyes. But in California, they may soon need to learn not to fire at all.

Park officials in Elk Grove, just south of Sacramento, have forced a historical society to abruptly cancel a long-planned, two-day Revolutionary War reenactment, citing local anti-gun laws, the Elk Grove Citizen reported.

Instead of muskets, officials reportedly requested an alternative: wooden sticks.

The Elk Grove Historical Society, which was told by the park district at the end of last year that their black powder muskets could not be fired, decided against using sticks and canceled the reenactment, according to local reports.

Florida Shooter Survivor’s Father: CNN Sought Out Political Statements for Interview

CNN has turned a number of the survivors of the Parkland school shooting in Florida into mini-celebrities in the wake of the massacre. It is seldom the case that survivors of these tragedies do speak out, so you can’t blame the network for giving them airtime.

But we can blame CNN for using these survivors of a tragedy as pawns for gun control. While we don’t mean to attack the students personally, having survived such a tragedy doesn’t add any validity to their calls for gun control, especially since I haven’t seen any actual concrete proposals from these students. I’ve just seen them call for “action.” What kind of action exactly? Who knows – just “action.” They also want politicians to “do something.” What that something is isn’t explained.

Trump Administration Says 2001 AUMF Authorizes Endless Iraq, Syria Presence

New letters from the State and Defense Departments lay out the case, such as it is. The arguments in both letters are very similar. The 2002 AUMF for Iraq doesn’t have any caveats. It just says Iraq is a threat, and that means the US can do whatever they want to, with, or in Iraq. Syria, where the US is not only not invited, but troops are said to be there to advance regime change, is a lot trickier.

The argument is that because ISIS still sort of exists, the US can keep troops in Syria just in case ISIS becomes a serious threat, and while there, any time Syria forces get kind of close, the US can attack them “in self-defense.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

President Trump has proven himself a far cry from Candidate Trump, who suggested that these endless, immoral, extraconstitutional confrontations should be ended, and gave us hope that the War Party was losing its influence in the Bowels of Power in DC.

Uzi Nissan Spent 8 Years Fighting The Car Company With His Name. He Nearly Lost Everything To Win

Nissan the car company never really cared who Uzi Nissan was. Then it decided he had something it wanted very much—the website www.nissan.com, which he created for his small retail computer business in 1994—and it sued him for $10 million. Culture wars: a child’s “medical right” to change gender in the Brave New World

“Technocracy is shaping a new world based on twisting morality into pseudoscientific ‘facts’ that demand compliance. It’s a hoax on a grand scale.” (The Underground, Jon Rappoport)

Government programs to teach the issue of gender in schools are gaining steam. “Fluid-gender” is the artificial construct used to promote these programs.

For years, I’ve been warning about the fabricated use of medical labels as a pretext for “protecting the rights of the child.”

The op goes this way:

Shift a decision about morality into a decision about the right to obtain medical treatment. For example, claim there is a disorder called Gender Dysphoria. Claim many children suffer from it.

State that gender reassignment is the treatment that cures the disorder.

State that every child has the “right” to choose the treatment—AND parents who oppose it are illegally restricting their children.

Infectious disease expert warns that San Francisco is becoming dirtier than slums in India and Brazil

From Daily Mail: San Francisco may be America’s most expensive city to live in, but it’s also quickly becoming one of the dirtiest in the world as well.

NBC Bay Area journalists recently conducted a survey of 153 blocks of downtown San Francisco and found trash on every street. Trash bags and litter are one problem, but the report found that used needles and human feces are also common sights downtown – even near upscale hotels, government buildings and in playgrounds.

In total, the journalists found 100 drug needles and more than 300 piles of feces during their investigation.

If stuck by a used needle, one can be infected with diseases like HIV or Hepatitis. Fecal matter is also not just a smelly nuisance. As it dries, the germs become airborne and if inhaled, can prove deadly – especially for children.

Armed officer at Parkland high school resigns after he did nothing during deadly shooting

The school resource officer on duty when a gunman killed 17 people at a Florida school found a safe spot outside the building — and did absolutely nothing, officials said Thursday.

Scot Peterson, who was the last line of defense at Parkland’s Marjory Stoneman Douglas resigned after video surfaced of him outside the school Feb. 14 when all hell was breaking loose inside, said Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel.

Peterson, a school safety officer since 2009, remained outside the building for about four of the six minutes Nikolas Cruz was inside killing students with an assault rifle, according to Israel.
