Grenfell Tower residents NOT offered sprinklers like council chief said

RESIDENTS of the tragic Grenfell Tower block were not asked if they wanted sprinklers in the building as part of the ill-fated £8.6million refurbishment, Express.co.uk can exclusively reveal.

Nicholas Paget-Brown, leader of Kensington and Chelsea Council, was widely criticised last week after he appeared to lay the blame for there being no sprinklers inside the 24-storey building during an interview on Newsnight on BBC2.

He suggested residents had been given the option of sprinklers in the 120-flat block, but snubbed the chance amid fears it would prolong the project.

However, Express.co.uk has discovered the option of having sprinklers was never put on the table to residents or as part of the proposal.

The Australian Discovery That Could Replace Fossil Fuels

Australian scientists have developed a new efficient catalyst that converts carbon dioxide from the air into synthetic natural gas in a "clean" process, using solar energy.

Undertaken by University of Adelaide in collaboration with CSIRO, the research could make viable a process that has enormous potential to replace fossil fuels and continue to use existing carbon-based fuel technologies without increasing atmospheric CO2.

The catalyst the researchers have developed effectively drives the process of combining CO2 with hydrogen to produce methane (the main component of the fossil fuel natural gas) and water. Currently, natural gas is one of the main fuels used for industrial activities.

32TB of Windows 10 internal builds, core source code leak online

A massive trove of Microsoft's internal Windows operating system builds and chunks of its core source code have leaked online.

The data – some 32TB of installation images and software blueprints that compress down to 8TB – were uploaded to betaarchive.com, the latest load of files provided just earlier this week. It is believed the data has been exfiltrated from Microsoft's in-house systems since around March.

The leaked code is Microsoft's Shared Source Kit: according to people who have seen its contents, it includes the source to the base Windows 10 hardware drivers plus Redmond's PnP code, its USB and Wi-Fi stacks, its storage drivers, and ARM-specific OneCore kernel code.

Anyone who has this information can scour it for security vulnerabilities, which could be exploited to hack Windows systems worldwide. The code runs at the heart of the operating system, at some of its most trusted levels.

Jun 23 13:59

The canary in the asset bubble is popping: $3.8 trillion bubble that you are probably not aware of.

The death of retail as we know it is real. People are shifting their buying habits online in a fast and furious way. The only retail outlets that seem to be thriving are dollar stores but they are thriving because many Americans are living paycheck to paycheck and online shopping is too expensive for some. So it should come as no surprise that the way things were once done is being upended again by technology. Giants like Amazon and Wal-Mart are cannibalizing entire industries. Back in 2012 Amazon had less than 10 million Prime subscribers. Today it is over 80 million. So the big bubble that is now imploding is that in commercial real estate. There is $3.8 trillion in commercial real estate loans outstanding and the bubble in this market couldn’t be peaking at a worse time.

Canary In The Coal Mine: Unfunded Liabilities Have Turned Illinois Into A “Banana Republic” On The Brink Of Bankruptcy

Illinois is the perfect example of what happens when your state is run by fiscally irresponsible dunces for decades. The state is buried debt, and hasn’t passed a budget in over 700 days. 100% of their monthly revenue is being consumed by court ordered payments, and the Illinois Department of Transportation has revealed that they may not be able to pay contractors (who are working on over 700 infrastructure projects) after July 1st if the state doesn’t pass a budget. To top it all off, the state’s credit rating is one step away from junk status, the lowest of any state. Because of these factors, Illinois may become the first state to declare bankruptcy since the Great Depression.

Governor Bruce Rauner has gone so far as to call his state a “banana republic.”

The state’s comptroller has admitted that “We are in massive crisis mode.”

Leaked Police Report: There Are 23 Muslim-Controlled “No Go Zones” In Sweden: Plagued With Violence, Sexual Assaults And Gun Crimes

Though European leaders and their US-based counterparts have vehemently denied their existence, a leaked report from the Swedish police confirms that there are at least 23 Muslim-controlled “No-Go Zones” and some 60 “vulnerable areas” where non-muslim citizens of the country can no longer visit safely.

As noted in the RT video below, the areas are plagued with violence, sexual assaults and gun crimes, and things have gotten so bad that police and emergency services personnel refuse to enter.

According to the Swedish National Police Commissioner:

We see developments in our country which are not always going in the right direction… We have more than 60 vulnerable areas in and around major cities in Sweden.. and we see criminality there and we need to turn around these developments in those areas… and we need the assistance of other parts of our society.

Some US Airlines Are Testing Mandatory Facial Recognition Scans On Americans Flying Abroad

Just when you thought air travel couldn’t get any more invasive, authoritarian and downright miserable, the Department of Homeland Security and two U.S. carriers are determined to prove you wrong.

Yesterday, Harrison Rudolph, a law fellow at the Center on Privacy & Technology at Georgetown Law, wrote a very troubling article at Slate titled, DHS Is Starting to Scan Americans’ Faces Before They Get on International Flights. Here’s some of what we learned:

Decades ago, Congress mandated that federal authorities keep track of foreign nationals as they enter and leave the United States. If the government could record when every visitor stepped on and off of U.S. soil, so the thinking went, it could easily see whether a foreign national had overstayed a visa.

But in June of last year, without congressional authorization, and without consulting the public, the Department of Homeland Security started scanning the faces of Americans leaving the country, too.

Webmaster's Commentary:

As the daughter of a very conscientious aircraft instrument mechanic (because I thought that everyone was just as diligent as was my late dad), I used to love to fly, when I was younger; now, being treated like livestock, poked, prodded and screamed at by the near-moronic maniacs at the TSA has made me absolutely hate flying.

Now the Senate goes after Loretta Lynch as Republicans AND Democrats probe how Obama's attorney general may have slowed down the Hillary Clinton email investigation

The Senate Judiciary Committee has launched an investigation into what former Attorney General Loretta Lynch may have done in 2016 to influence an FBI investigation related to Hillary Clinton's classified email scandal.

Lynch was widely criticized for meeting with former president Bill Clinton on an airport tarmac last summer while his wife was under criminal investigation for mishandling classified materials.

Mrs. Clinton, a former secretary of state and at that time the Democratic White House nominee, kept her State Department work emails on a private email server at her home, obscuring them from government record-keepers.

She was ultimately not prosecuted even though thousands of classified emails were later recovered from the server.

The Passing Of The Pelosi Era

In the first round of the special election for the House seat in Georgia’s Sixth District, 30-year-old Jon Ossoff swept 48 percent. He more than doubled the vote of his closest GOP rival, Karen Handel.

A Peach State pickup for the Democrats and a huge humiliation for President Trump seemed at hand.

But in Tuesday’s final round, Ossoff, after the most costly House race in history, got 48 percent again, and lost. If Democratic donors are grabbing pitchforks, who can blame them?

And what was Karen Handel’s cutting issue?

Ossoff lived two miles outside the district and represented the values of the Democratic minority leader, whom he would vote to make the speaker of the house, Nancy Pelosi of San Francisco.

The Pelosi factor has been a drag on Democrats in all four of the special elections the party has lost since Trump’s November triumph.

Saudi Reshuffle Could Completely Shake Up Oil Markets

The new crown prince is known to be a bit unpredictable. In the early phase of the oil price meltdown, he said that prices did not matter. But the plunge below $30 per barrel in early 2016 seemed to have changed the calculus. Last year Saudi Arabia became the principle driver behind a return to “market management,” that is restraining output to stabilize prices.

The IPO is another signature initiative of the young prince. He hopes to sell off 5 percent of Aramco, which he argues could raise around $100 billion (some analysts dispute that figure) in order to finance his Vision 2030, which calls for a diversification of the Saudi economy. The elevation of Mohammed bin Salman is being interpreted in some corners as an effort to accelerate this economic transformation. With low oil prices, a sizable budget deficit, large but dwindling cash reserves, and a restive and young population, time is of the essence.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I hate the characterisation of war between Saudi Arabia and Iran as "inevitable", but in light of the fact that the US has now "thrown its hat in" with the House of Saud, courtesy of President Trump's recent visit to Riyadh, and his own virulently anti-Iran, pro-Israel stance, I am afraid that characterisation is absolutely correct.

Senate announces probe of Loretta Lynch behavior in 2016 election

The Senate Judiciary Committee has opened a probe into former Attorney General Loretta Lynch’s efforts to shape the FBI’s investigation into 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, the committee’s chairman announced Friday.
In a letter to Ms. Lynch, the committee asks her to detail the depths of her involvement in the FBI’s investigation, including whether she ever assured Clinton confidantes that the probe wouldn’t “push too deeply into the matter.”
Fired FBI Director James B. Comey has said publicly that Ms. Lynch tried to shape the way he talked about the investigation into Mrs. Clinton’s emails, and he also hinted at other behavior “which I cannot talk about yet” that made him worried about Ms. Lynch’s ability to make impartial decisions.
Mr. Comey said that was one reason why he took it upon himself to buck Justice Department tradition and reveal his findings about Mrs. Clinton last year.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Lynch will most probably have to be subpoenaed, and may well not respond to it even if she is subpoenaed.

IF I were Charles Grassley right now, I would be preventing her from leaving the country to go to a country with which the US does not have an extradition treaty; because, were I a betting woman, I would almost bet on her doing something like that, and right the heck now!!

South Korea Does Not Need U.S. Permission to Engage in Policy Dialogue with North Korea. ROK Presidential Office

South Korea or its head of state Moon Jae-in does not need permission from the U.S. president or anyone else to engage North Korea in dialogue, Seoul’s presidential office Cheong Wa Dae said Wednesday.
“Resumption of dialogue with North Korea may need to be pursued in close cooperation and consultation with the United States, but South Korea does not need to be allowed by the U.S. to do so,” Kwun Hyuk-ki, a Cheong Wa Dae spokesman, told Yonhap News Agency.

The remarks came in reaction to a question by a U.S. journalist in a recent interview with South Korean President Moon Jae-in, in which the interviewer from U.S. broadcaster CBS stated it was not clear whether U.S. President Donald Trump would “agree to allow” his South Korean counterpart to negotiate with the North Koreans.

Saudi Arabia vs Qatar: Middle East Controlled-Demolition Plan?

There is trouble in oil paradise.

Prince bin Salman has assumed complete control of the Saudi kingdom’s government apparatus. This is a sign that the Saudi hardliners, vis-a-vis the crisis they created with Qatar, have won the prelude of the battle. As Saudi Arabia’s minister of defense, bin Salman was the architect of the nasty war in Yemen, which until the split between the two nations, included Qatar. What happened to the beautiful friendship between the Saudi and the Qatari rulers? Its apex was the sponsorship of jihadists, first to topple Gaddafi in Libya, and their ultimate collaborative proxy-terrorism accomplishment was the creation of ISIS to wreck Iraq, and to topple Bashar al-Assad in Syria.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Saudi Arabia has just given Qatar 10 days to accede to its demands, as of today's date:

Saudi Arabia gives Qatar 10 days to meet its demands to close down Al Jazeera, and cut ties with Iran.

Counting forward from today, this gives Qatar until the end of Sunday, 2 July to comply.

My best bet would be, that Saudi Arabia will move against Qatar on or about 4 July, when Americans are sedated with food, from the Independence Day holiday, and won't be paying attention.

But the question I have to ask is, what standing orders have the US commanders over those 10,000 troops stationed in Qatar been given in if that happens?!?

Turkish troops are already on the ground in Qatar, and doing exercises.

Turkish troops hold exercises in Qatar in show of support

As of the end of this 10 day period, all hell could break loose here, if in fact Saudi Prince Mohammed has green lit a Saudi invasion of Qatar.

US Recklessly Provoking Russia. The Unthinkable Could Happen by Accident or Design

Instead of fulfilling a campaign promise to improve bilateral relations, Trump so far continues acting provocatively.

He’s pursuing the same reckless agenda as Obama, pushing the envelope toward possible direct confrontation with Russia.

Despite neither country wanting war, unfolding events may cause the unthinkable to happen by accident or design.

Among major powers, Russia is the world’s leading peace and stability champion – America just the opposite.

It’s recklessly waging wars in multiple theaters, threatening conflicts against North Korea, Iran, and perhaps Russia the way things are going.
Madness defines US policy, state terror on a global scale, naked aggression its main expression, controlling planet earth, its resources and people its objective – risking potentially life-destroying nuclear war.
Last week, Senate members near unanimously imposed new illegal sanctions on Russia, including on its energy sector. House action awaits.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Looking at the geopolitical situation unfolding, many times, Mike and I are reminded of that archetypal dream of watching two trains, slowly heading for each other on the same track moving toward mutual destruction, but absolutely unable to stop it.

It is painfully clear to me, at this juncture in history, the the American Deep State is provoking Russia in every possible way, as a prelude toward war against it. The provocations are coming in our treatment of Russia itself; North Korea; Syria; and Iran.

As a Christian pacifist activist, who never advocates military action through which to resolve geopolitical conflicts, I am utterly appalled at how intensely President Trump has embraced war over true diplomacy in so many of the situations I am seeing developing which could very well spiral out of control.

I just see so many flash points coming up, that it feels as though war with Russia (and perhaps, also China) is imminent; it feels like less a question of if, but when, such a war will start.

The only thing I can do is to continue to bear witness, and counsel our readers/listeners to start prepping now, if they have not already started. A very good place to start is the subscription to Daisy Luther's "The Organic Prepper" newsletter. Yes, you will get some ads for goods and services here, but she is brilliantly and brutally astute, when it comes to the difference between surviving upheaval...or not.

That some of the covert prisons sit inside military bases might not be much of a shock, but others are located in ports, an airport, private villas, and even a nightclub — and all, according to the AP, remain untouchable by the embattled Yemeni government.

Washington Compost BEX - Obama’s secret struggle to punish Russia for Putin’s election assault

Early last August, an envelope with extraordinary handling restrictions arrived at the White House. Sent by courier from the CIA, it carried “eyes only” instructions that its contents be shown to just four people: President Barack Obama and three senior aides.

Inside was an intelligence bombshell, a report drawn from sourcing deep inside the Russian government that detailed Russian President Vladimir Putin’s direct involvement in a cyber campaign to disrupt and discredit the U.S. presidential race.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The Compost is trying to respond to the question of why Obama didn't do anything if Russia was tampering with the election, so now the story that he was but it was secret!!!!!!!!!!!

And if you believe THAT one, I have some of Saddam's nuclear weapons to sell you!

Organically-Grown: Is It Worth The Price You Pay? An Interview With An Organic Farm Manager

Even though Whole Foods, in my opinion, has not been a pristine purveyor of what I’d call non-GMO and chemically-free foods, as I and others would have liked, it did a respectable job considering all things involved while also making a handsome bottom line for itself over the years, but now finds itself losing ground to the organically-grown foods revolution taking place and which Amazon obviously wants to become a key player and corner a large segment of that lucrative market. Consumers have become food conscious and want safe, clean and better tasting food!

US Foreign Policy, Global Hegemony, “Soft Power” and the Geopolitics of Eurasia

Henry Kissinger, one of the fundamental figures in creating and maintaining the US policy of global hegemonism during the Cold War[1], was quite clear and precise in his overviewing the issue of the American geopolitical position, national goals and foreign policy. His remarks can be summarized in the following points:
The US is an island off the shores of the large landmass of Eurasia.
The resources and population of Eurasia far exceed the resources and population of the US.
Any domination by any single state from Eurasia (either from the European or the Asian part) is a critical danger for the American geopolitical and geoeconomic aims as well as national interest regardless during or after the time of the Cold War.
A mortal danger for the US is formation of any political-military coalitions between the Euroasian great powers (primarily between the USSR/Russia and China) as such coalition would have a real capacity to outstrip both the US economy and military.

Webmaster's Commentary:

But it looks as though the political/economic developments between members of BRIC and the SCO are changing this game, and quite concretely.

The economic reforms in China and Russia, coupled with their moving to embrace Europe, with trade and infrastructure, (like Xi Jinping's Silk Road project China pledges $124 billion for new Silk Road as champion of globalization) are leaving the USSA in the dust; this is why I am hearing so much demonisation of both countries, as though to prepare American citizens for wars against them, to stop the ascent of both the yuan, and the ruble.

Did you know that before 1973 it was illegal in the US to profit off of health care. The Health Maintenance Organization Act of 1973 passed by Nixon changed everything.

In 1973, Nixon did a personal favor for his friend and campaign financier, Edgar Kaiser, then president and chairman of Kaiser-Permanente. Nixon signed into law, the Health Maintenance Organization Act of 1973, in which medical insurance agencies, hospitals, clinics and even doctors, could begin functioning as for-profit business entities instead of the service organizations they were intended to be. And which insurance company got the first taste of federal subsidies to implement HMOA73 … *gasp* … why, it was Kaiser-Permanente!

Why the Liberal Democrats NEED Everyone Vaccinated…

When 2016 liberal Democratic Presidential Candidate Hillary Clinton laughed in the face of American parents concerned about mandatory vaccines for their children, little did she realize that that insult would cost her the election – and it did. The HUGE anti-vaxxer movement turned to Donald Trump. Hillary’s insult, and the reaction, tipped the scales.

Republican Lawmaker Wants to Make It Legal to Carry a Gun in Washington DC… But Only for Congressmen

When it comes to gun control, no one is more hypocritical than liberal celebrities and politicians. While these people promote the end of gun rights for ordinary Americans, it's often the case that they are protected in public and in their homes, by cadres of highly trained and armed bodyguards. They reap the benefits of the Second Amendment, while treating the rest of us like children who can't be trusted with a gun.

However, it's not just prominent liberals who are hypocritical when it comes to gun rights.

George Orwell’s son says his father’s ‘1984’ was ‘prescient’

The audience at the opening night on Broadway of a new stage adaptation of George Orwell’s dystopian fantasy “1984” will include a special guest — the author’s son.

Richard Blair, whose father finished the book in 1949 when he was a young boy, was in New York on Thursday to cheer on the cast amid a huge jump in interest of his father’s nightmarish vison of the future.

“His novel ‘1984’ was his take on what could possibly happen — not necessarily will happen — but, as it turned out, it was really quite prescient,” said Blair. “Crickey, it’s still fresh today as it was then.”

Here Is The Reality Of Our Predicament: “The US System Is Going To Move Into The Next Phase Of Collapse Under Trump’s Watch”

Just after the US presidential election in 2016 I published an article titled ‘Order Out Of Chaos: Defeat Of The Left Comes With A Cost’, covering a rather difficult subject matter, namely the concept of “4th Generation Warfare” and how it is used by establishment elitists to defeat popular resistance to their agenda of centralization and globalization. 4th Gen tactics are confusing to many because most people think in terms of single movements and direct correlations; they think that a punch thrown is a punch intended to strike, rather than intended as a feint or misdirection.

Mexico Now Second Most Violent Country in the World

A recent survey by Mexico’s National System for Public Security indicates that May was the country’s deadliest month on record, with the country seeing 2,186 murders in 31 days.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Mexico has strict gun control, often cited as a model for the United States. Although the Mexican constitution grants a right to arms, the right is considered valid only in ones home, and even then in practice it is still largely ignored by the police.

Empty Book on Palestinian History Becomes Instant Best-seller on Amazon

The author's argument that the Palestinians are not a people because they are void of history isn't new - it's a mainstay of the Israeli right.

A book called "A History of the Palestinian People: From Ancient Times to the Modern Era" that went on sale on Amazon last week was the most sold book in the site's "Israel & Palestine History" category and the 543rd most sold book on the site.

The page for the book, which contains 132 blank pages, has since been removed from the site. It was not immediately clear if the page was removed by Amazon or the publisher.

Assaf Voll, the "author" of the book explained the motivations behind writing it to the religious radio station "Kol Hai": "The Palestinian people believe they are a people, and someone needs to tell them the truth even if it hurts. Look what happens when they were given the feeling that they are a real people."

Webmaster's Commentary:

Vol understands, in a very Orwellian manner, that to control the future, one must be in control of the past, which in his case, means to completely erase Palestinian history in what is now contemporary Israel.

Palestinian historians, past and future, will not allow him that "luxury" of this lie, however.

Hired gun: Is war with Iran now inevitable under new Saudi crown prince?

Israel and Washington seem to have been instrumental in the rise of Riyadh's new leader, a hot-headed young royal who leaves a trail of havoc behind him. But can they control him?

In the hilarious novel by Christopher Buckley, 'Thank you for smoking,' the central character, Nick Naylor, works for Big Tobacco as a chief spokesman. The reason why Naylor, who lobbies on behalf of cigarettes using ingenious ploys, was given the job in the first place was due to a blunder he made as a journalist before, where he incorrectly announced live on air the death of the US president.

OpinionWhy Is One Pro-Israel Group Desperate To Keep You From Watching This Video?

When it comes to Palestinians, the American Jewish establishment is in the ignorance business. The average American synagogue has never hosted a Palestinian speaker. The average “pro-Israel” activist has never read a book by a Palestinian author. The American Jewish philanthropists who fund Birthright send thousands of young American Jews to Israel each year, on a program that systematically excludes the voices of 50% of the people who live under Israeli control.

But that’s not the worst part. The worst part is that for major American Jewish organizations, ignorance is an export. It is not enough that American Jewish leaders never hear from Palestinians themselves — they do their best to ensure that American politicians don’t, either.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Please watch this video, and decide for yourselves.

There is one, carefully crafted image Israelis want you to see of their country; the other is the brutal reality with which Palestinians have to live every day, 24/7.

NANCY PELOSI SAYS LETTING PEOPLE KEEP MONEY THEY EARN IS STEALING

If you ever had any doubt that democrats consider your money theirs, Nancy Pelosi just erased that. According to her, if you are “allowed” to keep the money you earn, that’s really stealing from poor people who didn’t earn it. I know this is some dizzying liberal logic, but that’s how they like things. Their hope is to make things so confusing that you can’t tell how bullshit it all is.

USS Reagan crew can sue Japanese company over Fukushima nuclear disaster – court

A federal appeals court has ruled that members of the US Navy can now, in a US court, pursue their lawsuit which alleges that they were exposed to radiation while providing aid after the nuclear crisis in Fukushima, Japan.

On Thursday, the US Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco ruled in favor of the sailors who were exposed to dangerous levels of radiation while providing humanitarian aid after an earthquake destroyed the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant in Japan.

The ruling allows sailors, who were aboard the ship at the time, to pursue their lawsuit against the state-owned Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) for misrepresented radiation levels in the surrounding air and water.
