Combat Operations in the Mexico Border Zone

Combat Operations in the Border Zone
May 18, 2010 by randyedye
By T.J. Woodard, May 17, 2010
Elites on the coasts don’t want to recognize what can be described only as combat operations conducted north of the U.S. – Mexican border.
This is war. Drug traffickers are using military tactics and techniques to get their products across the border. They carry automatic weapons and use vehicles with machine guns mounted on them. They are ready and willing to kill anybody who gets in their way. It’s time to close the southern border.
TJ Woodard is a retired Army officer who lives less than ten miles from the Mexican border. He carries a pistol even in his own house in order to be prepared to defend his family whenever necessary.

Outspoken Professor Fired from Oil-Spill Team

Jonathan I. Katz, a physics professor at Washington University in St. Louis., said he was fired from the team of scientists chosen by U.S. Energy Secretary Steven Chu to help BP Plc control the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

“Some of Professor Katz’s controversial writings have become a distraction from the critical work of addressing the oil spill,” Stephanie Mueller, a spokeswoman for the Energy Department, said in an e-mail today. “Professor Katz will no longer be involved in the department’s efforts.

Poor Thai ‘red shirts’ victims of the New World Order

As the proverbial red carrot, ‘democracy’ is held out by the World’s elite via the by-them-controlled mass media, as “the ideal system that will bring liberty and equality, and bla bla bla“, and it is all a total lie!
Just look at the United States itself, that great proponent of this big lie, its voting machines are rigged and its government is now fully hijacked by a financial power elite, driving away and marginalising their own normal people into “tea parties” because they want to “take back their country!”

In order to be slaves, we had to be conditioned to become slaves. This was done in increments, causing us to distrust each other, put our reliance on charismatic leaders, all of whom have turned out to be sociopaths, professional liars and thieves, mouthpieces for a very real conspiracy against the American people. Part of that conditioning was confusing Americans to the point where we would blame each other, one imaginary enemy after another, all blamed for our failures, our poverty, our decline while, when we weren’t looking, our economy drained into the foreign bank accounts of the few and our jobs flushed into Mexico, then China.

The Death of Aiyana Jones: "Showtime Syndrome" Claims a Child (UPDATED)

Conflict and danger, whether genuine or contrived, make for high-impact television; de-escalation and sober, careful police work do not. Thus embedding camera crews with the police -- only officially vetted personnel from State-aligned media are suitable; Mundanes with cameras are subject to summary arrest -- creates a perverse incentive for "peace" officers to choose an approach more likely to result in avoidable death, injury, and property destruction.

Aiyana Jones, the 7-year-old girl shot to death early Sunday (May 17) during a SWAT raid on her Detroit home, was almost certainly a victim of the "COPS Effect."

A Dangerous Precedent?

Few will argue that there are not sexually dangerous prisoners who should not see the light of day. Due to lax laws, lenient judges and a corrupt judicial system, all manner of criminals are let loose upon society after their sentences are over to continue their deviant ways.

But today's supreme court decision that federal officials can indefinitely hold inmates considered "sexually dangerous" after their prison terms are complete could be setting the stage for 'indefinite detention' and 'preventive detention' of prisoners of all sorts, including political ones.

Criminal Negligence: Despite Knowing It Had a Damaged Blowout Preventer, BP STILL Cut Corners By Removing the Single Most Important Safety Measure

Several weeks before the Gulf oil explosion, a key piece of safety equipment - the blowout preventer - was damaged.

As the Times of London reports:

"[Mike Williams, the chief electronics technician on the Deepwater Horizon, and one of the last workers to leave the doomed rig] claimed that the blowout preventer was then damaged when a crewman accidentally moved a joystick, applying hundreds of thousands of pounds of force. Pieces of rubber were found in the drilling fluid, which he said implied damage to a crucial seal. But a supervisor declared the find to be "not a big deal", Mr Williams alleged."

Webmaster's Commentary:

One has to hazard a guess that because the managers and executives at PB thought they were untouchable for any liability, due to the company's significant political clout, they would make decisions like this, and ignore standards and practices which might have prevented this disaster from happening.

Oil Already in Loop Current, Headed for Florida Keys

Researchers have evidence that oil from the Deepwater Horizon well accident in the Gulf of Mexico is on its way to the Florida Keys, carried by currents.

That evidence comes from computer models, satellite images and an eyewitness observation on a University of South Florida research vessel.

That ship, the Weatherbird II, returned Monday after studying plankton levels at the oil spill site.

Webmaster's Commentary:

We're going to see "dead zones" in a lot of the areas into which the oil has already spilled.

As oil spill approaches, dead animals wash up in Mississippi

Gus Holliman has spent the last two days riding the beaches in this coastal Mississippi town, hoping not to find dead animals.

On Saturday the sea turtles started washing up on shore. On Sunday, the turtles were joined by dead catfish, horseshoe crabs, and birds -- a duck, a pelican and a seagull.

Before the April 20 rig explosion and oil started pouring into the Gulf, the city might see a small turtle wash up every six months -- one that got caught in a net, or died from some natural cause, said Holliman, a City of Pass Christian patrol officer, who works the harbor.

Tar Balls Found Off Key West

The U.S. Coast Guard says 20 tar balls have been found off Key West, Fla., but the agency stopped short of saying whether they came from a massive oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

Scientists are worried that oil is getting caught in a major ocean current that could carry it through the Florida Keys and up the East Coast.

Director of federal drilling safety oversight in Gulf calls it quits

Chris Oynes, appointed during the Bush administration to oversee offshore energy oversight at the Mineral Management Service (MMS), has quit.

"After 35 years of service," an MMS employee told AFP, Oynes plans to announce his retirement soon, leaving behind a career forever tarnished by a photo of him presenting Transocean, the Deepwater Horizon's owners, with a safety award.

His agency is blamed for severely lax safety oversight and neglecting inspections in BP's massive Gulf of Mexico oil spill.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Under Oynes' watch, there literally was no oversight, which lead this country to the catastrophe we see today in the Gulf.

This man does not deserve a retirement and a watch: he deserves to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of Federal law for absolute dereliction of duty.

Purposely Killing The Gulf?

The private, foreign International Monetary/Banking Cartel controls its puppets in Washington as it controls its oil company executives. And everything the Cartel does is anti-life, there are absolutely no exceptions; and their pretended Gulf oil clean-up is a glaring case in point.

Instead of cleaning up the unprecedented catastrophe created by the Cartel's mega-corporations (Halliburton, Transocean, and British Petroleum), these very same companies are purposely killing our Gulf of Mexico, under the pretense of cleaning it up.

Instead of using safe, non-toxic ways to gather up the rogue oil gushing from their incompetence, or planned cataclysm, the private Cartel is using an extremely toxic chemical dispersant, with the approval of the Obama administration.

Franklin Lamb : Why We Petition For Palestinian Civil Rights in Lebanon

“We don’t have to engage in grand, heroic actions to participate in the process of change or resistance. Small acts, when multiplied by many people, can transform the world”

“If we remember those times and places–and there are so many–where people have behaved magnificently, this gives us the energy to act, and at least the possibility of sending this spinning top of a world in a different direction. And if we do act, in however small a way, we don’t have to wait for some grand utopian future. The future is an infinite succession of presents, and to live now as we think human beings should live, in defiance of all that is bad around us, is itself a marvelous victory.” Professor Howard Zinn (1922-2010)

If I were in Washington this morning, I would run down Pennsylvania Avenue from the White House to Congress with a big Brazilian flag, as the young Brazilians run down the Avenida Paulista in Sao Paulo during the the “football” match, shouting “Gollllllll!”

Because with the news this morning that Iran has agreed to ship most of its enriched uranium to Turkey, in a nuclear fuel swap deal reached in talks with Brazil and Turkey that could “deflate a U.S.-led push” for new sanctions against Iran, the President of Brazil has scored a goal against the neocons in the West who want to gin up confrontation with Iran towards a future military conflict.

Dispersants Might Be INCREASING Damage From Gulf Oil Spill

As the Christian Science Monitor notes today:

More relevant could be the dispersant that BP is applying to the oil at the source. BP officials have hailed the process as a success, noting diminishing oil at the surface. But the dispersant breaks the oil into smaller drops, which might instead be spreading throughout the water column, instead of rising to the surface.

It is not clear what this would mean environmentally, though past research indicates that oil can be trapped in the seabed for decades after oil on the surface is cleaned away.

Shouldn't the use of dispersants be stopped until scientists figure out whether they will make things better or worse?

Monstrous underwater oil plumes found in US Gulf Coast

Scientists have found vast underwater plumes of oil, one 10 miles (16km) long and a mile wide, in the Gulf of Mexico, following last month's rig disaster.

Researchers from the National Institute for Undersea Science and Technology say they have detected several sprawling oil slicks lurking just beneath the surface of the sea and at depths of 4,000ft (1,200m).

The scientists said the chemical dispersants BP has been dumping underwater may be preventing the oil from rising to the top of the ocean.

The oil giant has said the chemicals, which it began deploying on Friday, have already resulted in less oil surfacing.

Were they just trying to sweep the oil under the carpet?

Rather than sending a few hundred National Guardsmen to the nearly 2,000 mile-long border, functioning under orders to step aside when confronted with those who cross our border illegally (Even when they are armed drug smugglers.), the way Bush did, we should send 30,000 troops to the U.S./Mexican border immediately.

Giant Plumes of Oil Forming Under the Gulf

“There’s a shocking amount of oil in the deep water, relative to what you see in the surface water,” said Samantha Joye, a researcher at the University of Georgia who is involved in one of the first scientific missions to gather details about what is happening in the gulf. “There’s a tremendous amount of oil in multiple layers, three or four or five layers deep in the water column.”

The plumes are depleting the oxygen dissolved in the gulf, worrying scientists, who fear that the oxygen level could eventually fall so low as to kill off much of the sea life near the plumes.

Huge oil plumes found under Gulf as BP struggles

Oil from a blown-out well is forming huge underwater plumes as much as 10 miles long below the visible slick in the Gulf of Mexico, scientists said as BP wrestled for a third day Sunday with its latest contraption for slowing the nearly month-old gusher.

BP, the largest oil and gas producer in the U.S., has been unable to thread a tube into the leak to siphon the crude to a tanker, its third approach to stopping or reducing the spill on the ocean floor. Engineers remotely steering robot submersibles were trying again Sunday to fit the tube into a breach nearly a mile below the surface, BP said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The damage this spill will create in the Gulf will absolutely dwarf that created by the Exxon-Valdiz disaster.

The real question is, what Congress will actually to to bring BP to account, and to insure that such a disaster like this never happens again, or at least, not to this magnitude.

May 16 08:46

You know what's funny? If I poured used oil in my yard I could be arrested! But BP goes free!

I could get arrested and fined if I poured used oil down the drain in front of my house. I would have every government agency filing charges against me. And the fine I received would be a lot greater percentage of my wealth, compared to any financial liability BP, Halliburton and Transocean will have to face.

Why do we allow corporations to have rights we don't have? If they want to have the same rights as a human being, then they should suffer the same consequences as a human being.

Obama's Gulf Eco-Catastrophe, Far Worse than Katrina, More Like a Hiroshima;

History will view Obama's response as too little, too late, too passive. New findings by a research vessel with a grant that ran out today show walls of oil-saturated death, miles long and wide, depleting oxygen from ocean water.

Webmaster's Commentary:

What appears to be happening is that the 5000 feet of water above the wellhead is functioning as a natural cracking tower. What we are seeing on the surface are the lighter petroleum molecules trapped in hydrates, showing various colors from tan to red. Lower in the depths, plumes of denser and heavier petroleum chemicals appear to be trapped in the thermocline and other layered currents, meaning that what is seen on the surface of the gulf, already covering some 5000 square miles, is not the totality of the disaster.

This has become Obama’s standard operating procedure. In late January 2010, at a press briefing, Obama “furiously slammed Wall Street titans who raked in billions in bonuses” (Associated Press). His press secretary Robert Gibbs let it be known that “the president shares the American people’s outrage on this.” Of course, the bonuses were paid anyway, and a Wall Street analyst understandingly remarked, “It’s good politics for him to say that.”

Israel’s Intimidation Tactics Won’t Stop Us: First Ship Sets Sail for Gaza!

By Huwaida Arraf

London – 14 May 2010 – At 22:45 local time tonight, the MV Rachel Corrie, a 1200-ton cargo ship, part of the eight-vessel Freedom Flotilla, set sail from Ireland on its way to the Mediterranean Sea. Three, ships from Turkey and Greece will join her, then sail to Gaza.

This past week reports from Israel have indicated that the Israeli authorities will not allow the Freedom Flotilla to reach Gaza with its cargo of much-needed reconstruction material, medical equipment, and school supplies. According to Israeli news sources, clear orders have been issued to prevent the ships from reaching Gaza, even if this necessitates military violence.

US funds Israel’s apartheid roads plan: settlers benefit from Israeli-only routes

Jonathan Cook reports that a US government aid agency is financing the construction of Jews-only apartheid roads in the illegally-occupied West Bank, contrary to Washington’s pledge not to assist in implementing Israel’s “apartheid road” plan and its oft-stated goal to establish a viable Palestinian state with territorial contiguity.

With 447 members of congress, every single one of them swearing they know nothing of Israel’s enormous nuclear arsenal, vowing eternal allegiance to Israel over the United States and virtual control of newspapers, electronic news media, thousand of internet news sites, movies, magaizines and television shows, the ability to spin anything from assassination to mass murder into a “poor threatened Israel” yarn has endangered the life of every public figure in the world who stands up for their beliefs.

447 members of congress led by Senators Charles Schumer and Lindsay Graham along with Josef Lieberman and “Hanoi John” McCain are not among them.

"War without Borders": Obama's "Long War"

Under the Obama presidency, this global military project has become increasingly pervasive. Military escalation as well as the Worldwide deployment of US military might are an integral part of America's "long war" military doctrine, to which the current administration is firmly committed. The nature of the long war recently reaffirmed by Marine Corps Gen. James Cartwright, Vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff:

A Visit From the Census Girl

It was odd that my wife had mentioned a couple of times in the last three days that the census people would be here soon. She wasn't going to answer the door if I wasn't here. It was my responsibility to talk to them according to her. That was because when I filled out the mail-in form all I answered was that 2 lived here. The rest of the answers were an N/A. Sure enough, the census representative showed up late this afternoon.

Gulf Oil Leaks Could Gush for Years

"We don't have any idea how to stop this," expert says.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Imagine trying to cap a geyser at Yellowstone, then move the problem 5000 feet down into the ocean substituting oil under pressure for the water from the geyser.

BP Attitude on Spill Size Called "Scandalous"

CBS News Correspondent Mark Strassmann reports, "Several scientists believe the actual leak has been grossly under-reported -- not 5,000 barrels a day, but as much as 14 times higher, or 70,000 barrels a day, which BP denies."

And, on "The Early Show on Saturday Morning," Florida State University oceanographer Ian MacDonald said, all else aside, "This is an unprecedented emergency. We've never had a spill of this magnitude at this depth go on for so long. They have to be trying everything they can (to plug it) and they also have to understand that this is beyond their previous experience."

Webmaster's Commentary:

Satellite photos show the oil spill covering 5000 square miles of water.

"Plaintiffs' assertion of a 'fundamental right to their own bodily and physical health, which includes what foods they do and do not choose to consume for themselves and their families' is similarly unavailing because plaintiffs do not have a fundamental right to obtain any food they wish," the government has argued.

Stunning, Spectacular and Scary photos from the Gulf

In the three weeks since the April 20th explosion and sinking of the Deepwater Horizon oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico, and the start of the subsequent massive (and ongoing) oil leak, many attempts have been made to contain and control the scale of the environmental disaster. Oil dispersants are being sprayed, containment booms erected, protective barriers built, controlled burns undertaken, and devices are being lowered to the sea floor to try and cap the leaks, with little success to date. While tracking the volume of the continued flow of oil is difficult, an estimated 5,000 barrels of oil (possibly much more) continues to pour into the gulf every day.

NATO In Afghanistan: World War In One Country

Afghanistan has, whether by convenience, design or some combination of the two, been transformed into a vast training ground for the consolidation of a fifty-nation military structure that has already been extended into Central Asia, the Caucasus, Eastern Europe, the Horn of Africa, the Indian Ocean and the Middle East.

It is also a testing range for new 21st century weapons and combat systems intended for future use around the world.

If U.S. and NATO forces were to withdraw en masse from the country tomorrow, the above results would not be lost to war planners in Washington and Brussels.

Fighting For Our Freedom?

The assumption is that if the U.S. had not fought any of its past or current wars or had not maintained its military presence around the world, that we would have lost some or all of our freedom. This fundamental assumption is never questioned (or I suspect even considered) by supporters of U.S. foreign policy, despite the fact that it completely disintegrates under even superficial examination.

Wanted Posters Issued for Alleged Israeli War Criminals

Tim King

A group in Israel is exposing members of its government charged with war crimes.

(JERUSALEM / SALEM) – By now many already know that a series of wanted posters have been issued to help identify and possibly some day bring to justice, a number of Israeli officials who are suspected of acts of genocide and illegal warfare[1].

The posters were created and posted by an Israeli human rights group that is maintaining a great deal of anonymity at this point. Their Internet site, as Haaretz relates, details “alleged war crimes committed by senior government officials and Israel Defense Forces officers.”[2]

What If Israel Invaded Vermont?

This is AWESOME!

Burlington Occupation

by Marc Estrin

It’s hard to get accurate information: Seven Days has been shut down; two editors have been replaced at the BFP; Shay Totten has suffered a questionable bicycle accident trying to cover the situation at the checkpoints. Power has been shut off from Sovernet,, and Burlington Telecom.

Movement is severely restricted. Passports are required at the Main Street, Riverside Avenue, Route 7, and I-89 checkpoints, and there are mile-long backups on all routes. Within city limits, all major east-west streets are restricted to permitted drivers and vehicles, and many businesses have been severely affected. To control movement in and out of a particularly troublesome area, razor-wire now surrounds the Old North End.

Gulf oil gusher ‘ten times worse’ than previously estimated, experts say

So this is why BP's release of video showing the Gulf oil gusher was mysteriously delayed.

According to a scientific analysis of footage from the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico, National Public Radio is claiming the growing ecological disaster is actually ten times worse than previously estimated, saying the rushing torrent of oil pouring into the ocean is equivalent to one Exxon-Valdez spill every four days.

That's more than 70,000 barrels a day -- when the U.S. Coast Guard had placed the figure at a seemingly modest 5,000 barrels a day.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is a disaster, and every single company which chose not to use the standards and practices necessary to prevent something like this from happening should be held completely responsible, and penalized.
