Preparing for the Collapse of the Petrodollar System, Part 1

by Jerry Robinson

Recently, there have been many news headlines containing the words “Iran”, “nuclear capability”, “Syria“, and “Islamic State“. If you listen closely, you can almost hear the drumbeats of a fresh war in the Middle East.

As an economist, I have been trained to view the world through the lens of incentives. (I am a "bottom line" kind of guy.) And just as every action is motivated by an underlying incentive, every decision has a related consequence.

This brief article details the actions, incentives, and related consequences that the United States has created through its attempts to maintain global hegemony through something known as the petrodollar system.

Paul Craig Roberts Laments "The Assault On Trump"

We are witnessing an assault by the national security state and its liberal media on a President of the United States that is unprecedented.

Wild and unsupported accusations of treasonous or illegal Russian connections have been the mainstay of the news since Trump’s campaign for president. These accusations have reached the point that there is an impeachment movement driven by the national security state and its liberal media and endorsed by Democrats, the American leftwing which has turned against the working class as “Trump deplorables,” and luminaries such as Harvard Law Professor Larry Tribe. The Washington Post, which was not present at the meeting of President Trump with Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov, purports to know that Trump gave Lavrov US national security information.

The Russian government has offered the presstitute media a transcript of the meeting, but, of course, the pressitutes are not interested.

Webmaster's Commentary:

We the People are no longer in any degree of control over domestic or foreign policy.

This is created by the corporations, who buy politicians to craft legislation in their favor, and the American Deep State, which is constantly striving to enhance US hegemony by any means necessary, including wars; assassinations; and regime changes.

But none of this is actually in the interests of We the People, because the cold, hard reality is, wars are generally economic in nature.

And, of course, Congress Members would be driven off and screamed at by friends and families of our dead military at the memorial services they might attend, if they mentioned once their thanks to that soldiers' sacrifice, so that companies like General Dynamics; Lockheed Martin; Kellogg Brown & Root could "make a killing", literally and financially.

This... is an ugly truth, but it is the truth.

War is murder, wrapped in a lovely flag, and not created for honour, courage, or "the American way of life", whatever that is these days; it is done to expropriate foreign resources to which neither the American government nor their pet corporations have any moral right; to make sure that the governments of the countries in which those resources exist are Western-centric, even if that means regime change; and to insure that those resources are only sold in American dollars.

That is what the pursuit of war by those hubristic monsters in the bowels of power in the Unhinged, Surveilled States of America is all about these days; and apparently, they don't think they will be getting quite enough of it to satiate their greed under President Trump, so they are plotting any possible way of "regime change" here at home, to cure the problem.

Never mind what the American people wanted, and why they voted for Trump; we have become, in their minds, totally irrelevant.

And in the most peaceful, logical way possible, that attitude has to be changed.

"We Did Not Touch On That At All": Lavrov Denies Trump Said "Comey Is A Nut Job"

In the "he said, she said" world of unconfirmed, unsourced political intrigue, on Friday the US went to sleep with fresh news of the latest diplomatic snafu by Trump, when the NYT reported that during his president with the Russian Foreign minister Lavrov on May 10, Donald Trump said that Comey is a "nut job" and that his firing "eased pressure" from the ongoing Russian investigation.

The exchange in question:

"I just fired the head of the F.B.I. He was crazy, a real nut job,” Mr. Trump said, according to the document, which was read to The New York Times by an American official. “I faced great pressure because of Russia. That’s taken off.”Mr. Trump added, “I’m not under investigation.”
Predictably, the alleged exchange was the only thing on the media's mind during Lavrov's press conference on Saturday, in which the Russian Foreign Minister refuted claims that he had discussed the firing of the former FBI director Comey with President Trump.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Given the nature of the industrial strength hatchet job we are seeing from the American Deep State and Democrats in Congress to demonize, and perhaps, remove President Trump from office, right now, if Lavrov has said the conversation on this subject never happened, I would strongly believe Lavrov over the lousily contrived, anonymous, and unattributed codswallop being manufactured against the President.

CNN Reports Comey Has Changed His Mind, Now Believes Trump Tried To Influence Him

Clearly disappointed to have been left out of the headline heroics from Friday night (courtesy of The Washington Post and The New York Times), CNN has decided that anon-sourced perspectives on officials' feelings now warrants reportage.

The latest in the sad sage of mainstream media's downward spiral, as The Hill reports, is that former FBI Director James Comey is expected to testify that he believes President Trump was deliberately trying to meddle in the FBI’s investigation of Russian interference in the presidential election, according to a report late Friday.

Despite swearing under oath that he "had never" been influenced during an investigation, and further that if he had he would have reported it immediately...

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF ever CNN has revealed itself to be "The Clinton News Network", this deplorable, non-sourced, anonymous moment is absolute proof that such a thing is true.

UK Government Moves Aggressively to Censor and Control the Internet

Senior Tories confirmed to BuzzFeed News that the phrasing indicates that the government intends to introduce huge restrictions on what people can post, share and publish online.

The plans will allow Britain to become “the global leader in the regulation of the use of personal data and the internet”, the manifesto claims.

It comes just soon after the Investigatory Powers Act came into law. That legislation allowed the government to force internet companies to keep records on their customers’ browsing histories, as well as giving ministers the power to break apps like WhatsApp so that messages can be read.

The government now appears to be launching a similarly radical change in the way that social networks and internet companies work. While much of the internet is currently controlled by private businesses like Google and Facebook, Theresa May intends to allow government to decide what is and isn’t published, the manifesto suggests.

The Federal Reserve Must Go

If you want to permanently fix America’s economy, there really is no other choice. Even before Ron Paul’s rallying cry of “End The Fed” shook America during the peak of the Tea Party movement, I was a huge advocate of shutting down the Federal Reserve. Because no matter how hard we try to patch it up otherwise, the truth is that our debt-based financial system has been fundamentally flawed from the very beginning, and the Federal Reserve is the very heart of that system.

Israeli Minister Hints At Coming War In Syria And Iran: “The Time Has Come To Assassinate Assad”

The Syrian situation is one that has been both fostered and created in part by the United States. ISIS is a creation of the American State Department under Obama. The U.S. wanted to take northwestern Syria to enable a natural gas pipeline to be run from Qatar into Europe. This would have accomplished several things. The move would have taken the monopoly away from Russian energy giant Gazprom by supplying gas to Europe via Qatar.

Webmaster's Commentary:

As always, according to the politicians in Tel Aviv, it must be American blood and American money which must be sacrificed to achieve Israel's geopolitical goals in the Middle East, even if those goals do not serve US self-interests, whatsoever.

Pentagon an Eager Customer of Assassination Mini-Drones

Fighting umpteen wars around the world, the US special forces (SOCOM) is forever offering “urgent operational needs statements” for its various weapons. This newest one is a real eye-opener, as SOCOM is seeking 325 more Lethal Miniature Aerial Missile Systems (LMAMS).

LMAMS are not actually missiles so much as single-use drones, designed to be small, fast, and carry large explosive payloads. The drones are created with an eye toward assassination attacks against “high-value targets,” with US company AeroVironment, and some Israeli companies manufacturing various similar models.

This suggests that SOCOM has either already burned through 350 assassination drones in a disturbingly short time, or they plan on assassinating so many people in the near future that they don’t think what they have left is enough to cover it until they could order more through conventional channels

Webmaster's Commentary:

Extrajudicial assassinations run so deeply against the core of true American values, I just don't know where to start.

However, I am very sure that the use of such weapons, in the Middle East and beyond, is a brilliant tool for radicalising those who are left behind, and to nearly insure that they will ultimately embrace jihad.

The use of such weapons, then, could well be characterised as an "insurance policy" to insure perpetual warfare for the US military to have to slam down.

What a wonderful "gift" for the US military/industrial complex!

"It's Absurd" - 6 Baltimore Schools Have Zero Students Proficient In State Math, English Tests

Baltimore schools spend a staggering $16,00 per student - the fourth-highest rate in the nation - and still an investigation by Fox45's Project Baltimore revealed that at six city schools, not one student scored proficient on either the statewide tests for English and math.

At West Baltimore's Frederick Douglass High, one of five high schools and one middle school where not one student scored a four or a five on the state test, only one out of 185 students who took the test last year scored a three, while 165 students scored a one, the lowest possible score.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The only conclusion to which I can come, looking at these numbers, is that the dumbing down of American urban kids continues apace; and there is part of me that wonders how deliberate that is.

Because when kids are illiterate and innumerate, and cannot function, they have to become dependents of the state, for food, housing, and welfare.

People like this will never have an independent thought in their lives, and are easily manipulated to swallow and regurgitate anything the State tells them, no matter how logically absurd.

Anyone who ever saw the film "Stand and Deliver", based on a true-life story, where a high school math teacher in an urban high school, pushed his kids to be the best in math, and enter a competition, and go on to work at very high levels in math, understands how Baltimore's schools are failing their students.

Parents should be voting with their feet, and get their kids out of that city, and school district, and ASAP, if they have any aspirations of their kids achieving and accomplishing anything in their lives.

Mattis: North Korea Military Solution Would Be "Tragic On An Unbelievable Scale"

With the media narrative once again focused squarely on Trump and the "Russian connection", something which will unlikely change over the next week absent "fireworks" elsewhere, the story of potential military intervention in South Korea has understandably dropped from the front pages. Although with a second US aircraft carrier now en route to the Korean Peninsula, and with Trump desperate for another "big bang" distraction, is it shortsighted to underestimate the potential of another geopolitical hotspot emerging in the next few days.

While the answer is unknown, on Friday afternoon Defense Secretary Jim Mattis reminded the American public just how high tht potential stakes are when he said that any military solution to the North Korea crisis would be "tragic on an unbelievable scale" and that Washington was working internationally to find a diplomatic solution.

Webmaster's Commentary:

China is not the problem here; how the problem can best be characterised, is that the US government is intransigent in its position that there can be no negotiations before North Korea abandons its nuclear missiles program, which means, in Kim Jung Un's mind, that North Korea should be vulnerable to invasion.

What should be happening here is a multi-lateral conference, between the US; North Korea; South Korea, and China, which would create a peace treaty to replace the existing armistice, with the quid pro quo being, that North Korea ends its nuclear weapons program in return for guarantees on trade and free movement of its people and its goods.

Of course, that...would be logical.

FBI: Rumors About Clinton Pedophile Ring Are True

An NYPD insider said the content they viewed did include State Department Top Secret emails. One file was called “Life Insurance”. A second file was titled “DNC Nuclear Arsenal“.

A third file I’m sure Hillary definitely does not want released was a file labeled “Intimate”… according to this NYPD insider, this file contained X-rated photos of Huma and Hillary with a teenager.

NYPD detectives were sickened by what they saw, according to our insider, and they had threatened FBI field agents that they would leak this information, if the FBI did not “step up and take off the kid gloves”. At that point, 13 of the FBI agents in NYC were also threatening to leak the information.

As you can imagine, the scandal has the entire Obama Administration in full panic. We are told there are emails that could send Loretta Lynch to prison, as well as Bill and Hillary.

Jeff Sessions Intent on Including Medical Pot in His Sinister War on Drugs

Medical marijuana, which we thought was safe from the long arm of the feds, got thrown a curve ball with Trump's signing statement on a bill earlier this month, in which the president implied that he would do what he felt like doing when it came to MMJ regardless of state laws and his previous stances.

Given Sessions relentless opposition to medical marijuana ,underscored recently when he said it has been hyped, maybe too much, advocates are worried that the administration is planning a full frontal assault on state MMJ programs, 29 in all.Meanwhile, a Quinnipiac poll last month found that 94 percent of Americans, including 90 percent of Republicans, support medical marijuana.

How does the Trump administration continually get away with blatantly violating the will of the people?

Ebola Spreading: Infections Up 800% In Last Week: Officials Race To Track Down 400 Possible Contacts

Last week three suspected Ebola infections were detected in a remote region of the Congo. Since then, World Health Organization officials have been scrambling to contain the virus.

Their efforts appear to have failed.

The contagion continues to spread, and though it’s nowhere near the 11,000 people who were infected during the outbreak in 2014, the infection rate has spiked over 800% in just the last seven days, with at least nine new cases reported in the last 24 hours:

The number of suspected cases of Ebola has risen to 29 from nine in less than a week in an isolated part of Democratic Republic of Congo, where three people have died from the disease since April 22, the World Health Organization said on Thursday.

The risk from the outbreak is “high at the national level,” the W.H.O. said, because the disease was so severe and was spreading in a remote area in northeastern Congo with “suboptimal surveillance” and limited access to health care.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I feel so sorry for the people who got hit with this.

But I want to find out, with so many US operations in Africa, how the US military is planning to keep our soldiers safe from this scourge,in light of the fact that there has been developed a vaccine against ebola which has offered 100% immunity to test subjects?!?

Ebola vaccine gives 100% protection, study finds

And why is this vaccine not getting to Africa?!?

Netanyahu Seeks ‘Dirty Harry’ Moment With Iran as Trump Arrives

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wants to persuade President Donald Trump to impose tough new sanctions on Iran for threatening Israel with ballistic missiles and bankrolling terrorism, a close adviser said.

The restrictions would aim to inflict damage in the same way that blocking money transfers did before Iran signed the 2015 agreement to curtail its nuclear program, said Michael Oren, a deputy cabinet minister to Netanyahu and his former ambassador to the U.S. The Israeli leader was among the most outspoken opponents of the deal and relishes the prospect of renewed confrontation if Iran violates its terms, he said.

That’s a ‘Dirty Harry’ moment,” Oren said in an interview on Thursday in Tel Aviv, referring to the style of brinkmanship adopted by Clint Eastwood’s detective in the 1971 movie. “You have to exact a price for Iranian behavior.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Mr. Prime Minister, a word please; haven't you and your political supporters been threatening Iran with harm, and do you not have specific weapons focused on Tehran yourself?!?

This is a pot/kettle/black moment in your foreign policy.

You could tamper down the hostility in a heartbeat, and you know it; when the next Iranian President is elected, as a result of this week's elections, you could visit Tehran with a peace and trade deal that could be an incredible win/win for both countries, at so many levels.

But you won't because of that hubris, and your insistence that the US military "take care" of Iran for you, and that the blood and money spent on this issue should only be American; never Israeli.

U.S. Citizens Want to Know if Erdogan Ordered Them Attacked at D.C. Protest

American activists opposed to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan want to know if he personally ordered the violent disruption of a protest Tuesday in the U.S. capital, and say President Donald Trump needs to stand up for them.

Video released Thursday shows that Erdogan watched his supporters, including members of his security detail, charge toward protesters in the grassy Sheridan Circle, punching and kicking them before police restored order.

Just before chaos erupted, an aide bent over Erdogan, who was seated in the back seat of a car in the driveway of the Turkish ambassador's home. The aide communicated with another man who ran toward protesters. Seconds later, Erdogan supporters were breaking through the police line.

Webmaster's Commentary:

That foreign agents were allowed to rough up peaceful protestors is an absolute insult to all the American people, and should never have been allowed to happen.

US Rejects Putin’s Offer of Transcript of Trump-Lavrov Meeting

US rejects and ridicules unprecedented Russian offer though it offers the one opportunity of ascertaining beyond all doubt what actually happened at the meeting between Trump and Lavrov.

The US political and media establishment has rejected and even ridiculed President Putin’s offer to Congress of the transcripts of the meeting in the Oval Office between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US President Donald Trump.

The prevailing response to the offer is that it was not intended seriously. The tone was set by BBC journalist who speaking on British television claimed that in making the offer Putin was having, and was just trolling the US, and that there is “no possibility” of the US accepting a transcript written on “Kremlin notepaper”.

This is to misrepresent what was a perfectly serious offer despite the humorous tone with which Putin spoke.

That the offer was intended entirely seriously can be judged by the words Putin used when he made the offer

Webmaster's Commentary:

This rejection is absolutely idiotic, and demonstrates the degree to which the American Deep State is terrified of the truth coming out.

Video: The Collapse of ISIS, Competition for Syrian-Iraqi Border

The SAA has repelled several fierce ISIS attacks in the city of Deir Ezzor. According to the Syrian Defense Ministry, 28 terrorists were killed and 30 others were wounded during the clashes. The SAA also managed to destroy a tank, a BMP-1 vehicle, and 2 technicals armed with 23mm guns.

As ISIS is collapsing in Syria and Iraq, sides involved in the conflicts have increased their efforts in the area of the Syrian-Iraqi border. Western-backed militant groups, supported by the US-led coalition’s special forces and airpower, increased their activity in southern Syria.

US-led forces are pretending to control the whole Syrian-Iraqi border area south of the Euphrates. However, while al-Bukamal remains under the ISIS rule, this is not possible.

The war you’ve never heard of

Today, according to U.S. military documents obtained by VICE News, special operators are carrying out nearly 100 missions at any given time — in Africa alone. It’s the latest sign of the military’s quiet but ever-expanding presence on the continent, one that represents the most dramatic growth in the deployment of America’s elite troops to any region of the globe.

In 2006, just 1 percent of all U.S. commandos deployed overseas were in Africa. In 2010, it was 3 percent. By 2016, that number had jumped to more than 17 percent. In fact, according to data supplied by U.S. Special Operations Command, there are now more special operations personnel devoted to Africa than anywhere except the Middle East — 1,700 people spread out across 20 countries dedicated to assisting the U.S. military’s African partners in their fight against terrorism and extremism.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is not at all about "...assisting the U.S. military’s African partners in their fight against terrorism and extremism."

It is the perennial American Deep State's fight for resources, to which the US government, and the corporations it supports, have utterly no moral right; to insure that the governments of Africa are Western-centric, even if they need to regime change those government; and it is about insuring that those resources are only sold in US dollars.

Oh, and it is to keep Russia and China away from those resources as well.

Greek parliament passes austerity cuts as Molotov-throwing protesters clash with police in Athens

New pension cuts and severe tax hikes have been approved by the Greek parliament as thousands of demonstrators protested new austerity measures amid clashes with police, Molotov cocktails and tear gas in central Athens.
The latest batch of austerity measures was passed late on Thursday with 153 votes secured by the ruling coalition government of PM Alexis Tsipras’ Syriza party and the Independent Greeks (ANEL), while 128 opposition deputies voted against the measures in the 300-seat parliament.

WATCH MORE: Protesters clash with police at anti-austerity protest in Greece

People took to the streets of Greece’s capital for the second consecutive day to protest new pension and tax-break cuts. The protest turned violent at some point as a small group of masked demonstrators threw Molotov cocktails and other projectiles at the police, who fired tear gas and pepper spray.

The protest was staged by the country’s major trade unions.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This will not end well.

The Greek government will may be looking at a bloody revolution, if there is not some movement away from the austerity cuts they have just voted in.

Trump pulls trigger on Nafta negotiations

The US plans to start talks with Mexico and Canada over Nafta "as soon as practicable", the Trump administration said on Thursday.
The letter to congressional leaders provided formal notice of the administration's intent to move forward with a campaign pledge to reform the 1990s trade deal.
Mr Trump earlier threatened to end the agreement, calling it a job "killer".
Thursday's letter said the deal needs "modernisation".

In 2016, Canada and Mexico were America's second and third-largest trade partners after China.
US trade with the two countries has more than tripled since Nafta went into effect in 1994, with more than $1 trillion goods and services exchanged each year.

But tension has been mounting under Mr Trump, who made tough-on-trade talk a hallmark of his campaign.

In January, he withdrew from the Trans-Pacific Partnership.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The question is not about modernising NAFTA,which has, honestly, cost Americans jobs; it is a question about HOW this agreement is going to wind up getting modified.

George Soros Still Quietly Buying District Attorneys’ SeatsPETER HASSON

George Soros has all but bought another district attorney’s seat.

The left-wing billionaire turned the Philadelphia district attorney’s race on its head by giving $1.45 million to fund a super PAC in support of his preferred candidate, Larry Krasner. Krasner, a progressive lawyer who has never worked as a prosecutor, sailed to an easy victory in the Democratic primary on Tuesday. Because Philadelphia is a Democratic stronghold, Krasner’s primary victory all but guarantees him to win the general election in November.

The influx of money from Soros gave Krasner a significant leg up over his opposition. Despite splitting votes with six other candidates, Krasner, who was not a favorite to win before Soros’ investment, finished 18 points ahead of the second-place finisher. As one Philadelphia Inquirer writer put it after the billionaire’s investment: “Soros changed the game.”

‘TOTAL BLACKOUT’: LAWYER SUING DNC FOR FRAUD SPEAKS OUT ON LACK OF MEDIA COVERAGE

The lawyer who filed a class-action lawsuit against the Democratic National Committee and its ex-chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz nearly a year ago tells RT that there has been a “mainstream media blackout” of the fraud case stemming from the 2016 primary.

The class action lawsuit against the Democratic National Committee and former chair Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Florida) filed in June 2016 alleges that the party showed bias toward Hillary Clinton over Senator Bernie Sanders (I-Vermont) during the 2016 primary.

Jared Beck, the attorney leading the lawsuit against the Democratic National Committee, went on RT’s “Redacted Tonight” to tell host Lee Camp that while the media covered “every moment” of the trials against OJ Simpson, Casey Anthony and George Zimmerman, the coverage of the DNC lawsuit has been a “total blackout.”

U.S. ATTACKS SYRIAN GOVERNMENT FORCES - IT NOW HAS TO MAKE ITS CHOICE

Together with its many subordinate NATO and Gulf allies the U.S. has the military and economic power to destroy the Syrian military. It can eliminate the Syrian government under President Assad and occupy the whole country. That would be a large war which would probably escalate into a global fight against Russia, Iran and other countries. It would necessitate a several decades long follow-up occupation for "nation building" while constantly fighting against a large al-Qaeda aligned Takfiri insurgency in Syria and all its neighboring countries (especially in Lebanon, Jordan and Turkey where U.S. friendly governments would fall). The war would cost several trillion U.S. dollars, a large number of casualties and cause decades long chaos in a geo-politically sensitive region.

Webmaster's Commentary:

My sense here is that the Deep American State will unwisely chose a major war, which will then spill over into Iran, and escalate with Russia.

The US government should have better sense than to believe its own narrative, regarding establishing an independent Kurdistan out of bits and pieces of Iraq and Syria; unfortunately, it does not.

It may not be a war the US military can win, because right now, it doesn't have the weaponry; the troop strength; the manufacturing, or the money to insure a positive outcome to a war against Russia.

London Police Say They're Still Obligated to Arrest Assange

On Friday, Swedish prosecutors announced that they have dropped their suspected rape investigation into Wikileaks founder Julian Assange. But the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS), which serves London, says it is still obligated to arrest Assange if he does decide to leave the Ecuadorian embassy, where he has been holed up for over half a decade.

"Westminster Magistrates' Court issued a warrant for the arrest of Julian Assange following him failing to surrender to the court on the 29 June 2012," the MPS said in a statement published Friday. "The Metropolitan Police Service is obliged to execute that warrant should he leave the Embassy."

As the MPS acknowledges, this is a much less serious crime than the one Swedish prosecutors were investigating. As legal commentator David Allen Green pointed out on Twitter, Assange may face up to a year in prison for breaching bail if convicted.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Those in the Bowels of Power in the Unhinged Surveilled States of America are furious with Assange, because he embarrassed them, demonstrating very openly their foul ups, bleeps, and blunders.

IF, in fact the London Metropolitan Police arrest him, that arrest will most likely lead to extradition to the US, followed by a grisly assassination, to discourage others from becoming whistle-blowers.

US ATTACK ON SYRIAN FORCES: ASSERTING "SAFE ZONES"

US warplanes struck a Syrian military convoy within Syrian territory, after claiming the forces came too close to US military positions.

In legal terms, it was both an act of war and criminal. The US military is currently occupying Syrian territory without invitation by the Syrian government and without any form of mandate from the United Nations.

In geostrategic terms, the United States is attempting to assert itself and its geopolitical strategy of establishing and subsequently expanding "safe zones" inside Syrian territory in a bid to topple the Syrian government, then divide and destroy the Syrian state.

Foreign Policy, a clearinghouse for corporate-financier funded think tank policymakers, in an article titled, "US Bombs Syria Regime for the First Time," would admit:

Webmaster's Commentary:

The US has just, informally, through this bombing, declared an act of war against the Syrian government, and its people.

TRUMP TO ANNOUNCE $350 BILLION ARMS DEAL DURING SAUDI ARABIA VISIT

Over the past few weeks there’ve been multiple reports of President Trump planning to unveil a massive arms sale to Saudi Arabia during his Riyadh visit, and the figures have kept rising. What was $100 billion earlier this week is now, according to the most recent reports $350 billion.

That would make it one of the largest arms deals in US history, and realistically in world history, and indications are that President Trump intends to present this as part of the push for the creation of “Arab NATO,” and by extension make it about Sunni Arabs confronting Iran.

This single deal would dwarf President Obama’s arms deals throughout his entire term in office, which are estimated at $200 billion, and are themselves the biggest amount of arms sales by any administration in the post war era. Saudi Arabia was a large buyer then, as well.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This deal puts the US and Saudi government and military on a collision course with Russia, whose political and military leaders have pledged to come to Iran's aid, if attacked militarily.

This deal also drives up the very real possibility that there will be a return of the draft in this country, both for its young women, and its young men, because we do not have the troop strength, the weaponry, the manufacturing, or the money right now to successfully combat Russia in a conventional war.

If the protests that have rocked Venezuela over the past few months can teach us anything, it’s that the Maduro regime is desperately clinging to power. As SHTFplan.com's Mac Slavo writes, protests are normal in any country, but when they occur every day for weeks on end, and result in dozens of deaths, it’s obvious that the government is in an unstable position. And as the government grows more desperate, their methods of controlling the population will always become more extreme.

That’s what’s happening in Venezuela, where the police have unleashed a devastating water cannon on protesters, which has been referred to as “La Ballena,” or “The Whale.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

We may well see the same kind of unrest if President Trump is "removed" from office, one way or the other; and watch for such unrest to be put down with the same extreme prejudice as is Venezuela's.

And if you don't believe me, take a look at the following article:Cops are bulking up on military gear in preparation for mass civil unrest

The Deep American State, as the real agent of change in this country, is martial, nasty, and thoroughly sinister in its quest for world domination; it won't let a little thing like an allegedly "mistakenly elected president" get in its way.

US IS ONCE AGAIN THE AIRFORCE OF ISIS, STRIKING SYRIAN FORCES IN THEIR OWN COUNTRY

Syria and its Russian ally have condemned a deadly US-led coalition air raid against pro-Syrian government forces in a desert area near the country's border with Jordan and Iraq.
Coalition fighter jets on Thursday struck a convoy of militiamen advancing inside a protected "deconfliction zone" north-west of the southern town of al-Tanf, the military alliance said in a statement.

The US, which is leading an air campaign in Syria targeting groups such as the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL, also known as ISIS), said the convoy's advance had posed a threat to US and US-backed Syrian rebel forces in the area.

"This brazen attack by the so-called international coalition exposes the falseness of its claims to be fighting terrorism," a Syrian military source told state media on Friday, confirming that the bombing had killed "a number of people" and caused material damage.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Bombing a sovereign nation, which has done nothing to this country, except to want to continue to exist under its current leadership, is a war crime.

Both Russia and Syria have every right to be condemning this act, which is part of a concerted, multi-pronged US/Israeli desire to see "regime change" in Damascus.

I don't know what odds Vegas bookies are giving the possibility of US/Russian ground conflict here, but to me, it looks like the probabilities of such a conflict are growing exponentially.

A war against Russia right now over Syria would be the most ham-fistedly, pig-headedly stupid thing the US government could do right now.

Unfortunately, this being stated, however, that is utterly no guarantee that the US government won't do just that.

And right at this moment, in its history, the US military does not have the weaponry; the troop strength; the money, or the manufacturing to insure a positive outcome from a conventional war against Russia.

EU Combined Military HQ To Be Launched ‘Within Days

European Union leaders plan to move forward with the creation of an EU military headquarters within the next few days – and warn that Britain may still be expected to take part, even after Brexit.
Plans to set up a joint Military Planning and Conduct Capability (MPCC) facility, agreed by all 28 member states in March, had been stalled by British objections to the facility having an operational military role.

But speaking to reports in Brussels following a meeting of EU defence ministers on Thursday, the EU’s Foreign Affairs commissioner Federica Mogherini said the path was now clear, and plans would be progressed within the next few days.

“I understand it is finalised. I understand we have a couple of days to have the official text in place,” she said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Forgive me, but just why does the EU need a standing military?!?

For financial and regulatory enforcement, if Brussels feels member nations are not "paying their fair share", or if they decide to leave?!?

What precisely, will be their mission?!?

And why now?!?

These are all troubling signs, because as thinking people know, to establish a military means that there is a strong desire to use that against some alleged "existential threat".

And just what is the "threat" to the EU, now that Britain has broken away with the Brexit?!? IS this military force being established to prevent other member nations from leaving?!?

And is this not the polar opposite of that value, enshrined in the UN charter, which is peaceful self-determination?!?

I have infinitely more questions than answers here.

THERESA MAY TO CREATE NEW INTERNET THAT WOULD BE CONTROLLED AND REGULATED BY GOVERNMENT

Theresa May is planning to introduce huge regulations on the way the internet works, allowing the government to decide what is said online.

Particular focus has been drawn to the end of the manifesto, which makes clear that the Tories want to introduce huge changes to the way the internet works.

"Some people say that it is not for government to regulate when it comes to technology and the internet," it states. "We disagree."

Senior Tories confirmed to BuzzFeed News that the phrasing indicates that the government intends to introduce huge restrictions on what people can post, share and publish online.

Azure Farms submits a tentative weed management plan

The local agribusiness boys are the ones trying to get the organic farm sprayed with herbicides. The local courthouse got over 400,000 emails from you good folks, but the agribusiness boys wont give up.

http://katu.com/news/local/oregon-organic-farm-plans-to-control-weed-i...

The organic farm in Sherman County has been criticized by neighboring farmers, who say noxious weeds are spreading to their ground.

A last-minute weed management plan filed by an organic farm may be “workable” if the farm managers follow through, a Sherman County official said.
The Oregon Wheat Growers League urged a “prompt and rigorous review” of Azure’s proposal.

“From our members on the ground, it’s become clear that even a casual observation of Azure’s property makes it clear that their noxious weed problem is severe and has been worsening for many years,” league CEO Blake Rowe and growers Bryan Cranston and Chris Moore said in a prepared statement.”

US: Syria Restoring Its Territory Will 'Not Be Accepted'

As we reported last week the Syrian army is making progress in the southern desert. It is edging eastwards towards the Iraqi border and towards joint US-rebel positions at al-Tanf border crossing.

We asked what happens when these two forces come within shooting distance of each other.

The question is all the more acute now as it has become apparent the US believes Syria requires US permission to restore its territory. As The Telegraph reports:

The US has sent a clear message that any government advance towards their base will not be accepted. However, it is unclear how the special forces will react to any serious provocation.

You may have thought it would be the US which required government permission to set itself up in al-Tanf, but apparently it's the other way around. It must be that al-Tanf is actually in Arizona or New Mexico.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Invading and bombing a sovereign country, which has done absolutely nothing against the US, as has been the case in Syria, where there is utterly no declaration of war, constitutes a war crime; I wish someone could explain that to President Trump.

But as I indicated in an article I posted yesterday, President "Moriarty" Trump believes war is great for the US economy, as he is on the cusp of his first visit as President to Saudi Arabia to sign new weapons deals with the Saudi government, which will be used to further the genocide in Yemen, as well as ultimately bring about a shooting war between Iran and Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia characterises Iran as its "existential threat" in the region.

But the Saudis (and the American military) had better be aware that should Iran be attacked, both political and civilian leaders in Russia have vowed to come to Iran's aid.

War against Russia, in light of the fact that the US military doesn't have the troop strength, the weaponry, the money or the manufacturing to win a convention war against Russia?!?

I really don't think so!!

Ban Drudge Report And Infowars: “Information Equality Now… Stop The Hate, Regulate”

Net Neutrality activists held signs declaring “Ban Drudge” and “Ban Infowars” while calling for the regulation of on-line speech outside the Federal Communications Commission on Thursday.

“Information equality now!” read one of the signs. “Stop the hate, regulate!!!”

The protestors were taking part in a rally spearheaded by Sen. Ed Markey (D-Mass.) in protest of the planned vote to roll back the FCC’s regulatory takeover of the Internet by reclassifying Internet Service Providers as “common carriers” under Title II regulations developed in 1934.

“Groups planning to attend include American Civil Liberties Union, the Center for Media Justice, Color Of Change, Common Cause, CREDO Action, Demand Progress, Electronic Frontier Foundation, Faithful Internet, Fight for the Future, Free Press Action Fund and the National Hispanic Media Coalition,” reported Broadcasting Cable.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Never Telling a Word of Truth': Lavrov Says US Media Reminds Him of Soviet Joke

Commenting on the big noise raised in Washington over the classified information allegedly divulged to him by President Donald Trump during their meeting in the White House last week, Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the state of the US media reminded him of a popular Soviet-era joke about the press.

“Back in Soviet days people would joke about the newspaper Pravda (Truth) never reporting the news, and the newspaper Izvestia (News) never telling a word of truth,” Lavrov said when meeting with his Cypriot colleague Ioannis Kasoulidis in Moscow on Thursday.

On Monday, The Washington Post reported, citing anonymous sources, that when chatting with Lavrov and Russian Ambassador to the US Sergei Kislyak in the Oval Office on May 10, Trump revealed to them some information which “could jeopardize a valuable source of intelligence in the fight against ISIS [Daesh].”

On Tuesday, the Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov dismissed the allegations as “nonsense.”

Segregated: White Students Banned From Student Lounge At D.C. University: “Nothing More Important Than Being A Multicultural Campus”

As tolerance spreads across the United States, universities and their progressive student bodies are coming up with new and innovative ways to ensure a positive multi-cultural experience for everyone… unless you happen to be a Caucasian.

At the American University in Washington, D.C., which is home to about 13,000 of our best and brightest, administrators and student activists have determined that the best way to ensure a a fair and equal environment is to ban all white people from their new student lounge. The meeting area, ironically named “The Bridge,” opened a couple of months ago as a place for people to gather, study and even sing on open mic nights.

But shortly after its opening, the following sign, apparently with the blessing of school administrators, appeared around campus. It designates the new lounge as a safe space and sanctuary for people of color.

In short: No Whites Allowed.

Webmaster's Commentary:

ARE YOU FLIPPING KIDDING ME?!?

What ever happened to that inclusivity I felt, attending, and graduating from Cal State Dominguez Hills?!?

This was truly a "rainbow campus" where everyone, no matter their ethnicity, got along, because we all had our eyes on the same prize of getting a college education and degree, which would give us a competitive edge when going out into the job market.

This feels very much like a step backwards, and not forward, for race relations in the Unhinged, Surveilled State of America.

Meanwhile... In Greece

You know it's bad when the police are rioting against the new austerity measures assigned from Brussels...

As KeepTalkingGreece reports, tension between protesters from police, fire brigades and coast guard on one side and riot police on the other side broke out shortly after 8 o’ clock in the evening on Wednesday when the angry protesters tried to break the police cordon and enter the Greek Parliament.

Members of of the Greek Police, the Fire Brigades and the Coast Guard marched to the Parliament on the general strike day protesting the new austerity package that will be voted on Thursday at the Parliament.

A day earlier, the Police Union had warned that the government will find them on the opposite side. According to Greek media, the government considers to add some last minutes modifications in the 4.90-billion euro omnibus bill to exempt the Armed Forces from further cuts in wages, pensions and some benefits.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The Greek government should "pull an Iceland", declare their debt to Brussels odious, and put the politicians, Eurocrats, and bankers who put the Greek people into such a grinding state of austerity (read: utter poverty), in jail.

I have a feeling that regardless of what happens next, a Grexit is in the works, for sure, here.

The Buttinski Should Butt Out of Korea

Korea is none of the U.S. government’s business. The only proper course of action is for the Pentagon and the CIA to exit the country and bring those 23,000 American soldiers stationed in Korea home. No negotiations. No agreements. No talks. Just butt out of what is none of your business and exit the scene by coming home.

Why are there 23,000 U.S. troops in Korea? It’s because the U.S. government, headed by President Harry S. Truman and his newly established national-security establishment, decided to intervene in another country’s civil war more than half-a-century ago.

That’s right — a civil war. That’s all it was.

Armed Drones: America’s Favorite Weapon, Blurring the Line between Warfare and Assassination

President Barack Obama has received much credit for drawing down American involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan, but less attention has been paid to his administration’s embrace of armed drones. His expansion of covert drone strikes goes far beyond that of former President George W. Bush, and has blurred the line between warfare and assassination. The classified processes used by the White House for approving these remote killings in foreign countries – countries which the U.S. is not officially at war with – has people questioning not only the Obama administration’s tactics, but also the collateral damage of civilian casualties left in its wake.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The use of drone strikes obliterates the concept of due process, which is deeply woven into the basic tenants of the Constitution and Bill of Rights.

The collateral damage these strikes do is enormous.

And they may well be radicalizing generations of people against the United State; sometimes, I have to wonder if this is not part of the design intent, this creation of a perpetual state of war, from which the US military/industrial complex profits handsomely.

Forty-Five Blows Against Democracy: How U.S. Military Bases Back Dictators, Autocrats, and Military Regimes

Much outrage has been expressed in recent weeks over President Donald Trump’s invitation for a White House visit to Rodrigo Duterte, president of the Philippines, whose “war on drugs” has led to thousands of extrajudicial killings. Criticism of Trump was especially intense given his similarly warm public support for other authoritarian rulers like Egypt’s Abdel Fatah al-Sisi (who visited the Oval Office to much praise only weeks earlier), Turkey’s Recep Tayyip Erdogan (who got a congratulatory phone call from President Trump on his recent referendum victory, granting him increasingly unchecked powers), and Thailand’s Prayuth Chan-ocha (who also received a White House invitation).

Gulf States Offer Unprecedented Steps to Normalize Israel Ties in Exchange for Partial Settlement Freeze

The Gulf states have compiled a proposal to take unprecedented steps toward normalization with Israel if the Netanyahu government in turn makes gestures to the Palestinians, such as freezing settlement construction in parts of the West Bank and easing trade restrictions in the Gaza Strip, according to the Wall Street Journal.

US: Venezuela crisis worsening, wants to prevent new Syria

The United States called Wednesday's first-ever U.N. Security Council consultations on Venezuela because the crisis is getting worse and the Trump administration wants to prevent another conflict like Syria, North Korea or South Sudan, U.S. Ambassador Nikki Haley said.

Venezuelan Ambassador Rafael Ramirez strongly rejected the U.S. bringing his country's political dispute to the United Nations' most powerful body and accused Washington of again trying "to interfere in our domestic issues."

Haley said the U.S. intention wasn't to be "intrusive" or "heavy-handed" but to support regional efforts to find a political solution and "show respect for the Venezuelan people" who want free and fair elections, the release of political prisoners and the worsening humanitarian situation addressed.

Negev: Israel razes Palestinian village for 113th time

Israeli police forces have destroyed a Palestinian village in the Negev region of the country's south for the 113th time since 2010, displacing its residents and flattening its few still-standing structures.

Heavily armed officers as well as riot police forces raided the village on Wednesday morning, and bulldozers destroyed the makeshift homes locals had been living in, local Palestinian media outlets reported.

The Adalah Legal Centre for Arab Minority Rights, a Haifa-based advocacy group, estimates that 22 families made up of 110 people live in Araqib. The villagers return and rebuild after each demolition.

Al-Araqib is one of more than 35 "unrecognised" villages across the desertous Negev region, considered illegal by the government owing to their lack of building permits.

ISIL resorts to using poison gas to slow Iraq troops in Mosul

Cornered and on the brink of defeat, ISIL has resorted to the widespread use of poison gas to slow the advance of Iraqi troops in Mosul.

Iraqi special forces fighting in Mosul and the Federal Police units deployed in support have been the target of sustained gas attacks since at least April, officers and soldiers in the city have told The National. The gas used in these attacks is thought to be chlorine or mustard gas.

The battle to liberate the city from the terror group is entering its final stages after seven months of bitter fighting. Recent gains by the military has reduced the area under ISIL control to just over 10 per cent of the city on the west bank of the Tigris river, said Brigadier General Yahya Rasool, spokesman for the Iraqi high command.

Jewish Nation-State Bill: Israel’s Precarious Identity Is Palestine’s Nightmare

The Israeli Knesset (parliament) has hurriedly passed a new bill that defines Israel as the “national home of the Jewish people.” Although the association between Jewishness and Israel goes back to the foundation of the state, the new law also carries clear discriminatory elements that target the country’s Arab communities, numbering nearly two million people.

Reporting in Al Jazeera, Jonathan Cook explained the nature of discrimination that will be introduced once the Jewish Nation-State Bill becomes law. “Among its provisions, the legislation revokes the status of Arabic as an official language,” he wrote.

Once the bill is enacted into law, which Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, vowed to achieve in the course of 60 days, the legislation will increase “the powers of so-called “admissions committees” that block Palestinian citizens from living in hundreds of communities that control most of Israel’s land.”

Trump Advisers Want at Least 50,000 US Troops in Afghanistan

While publicly US strategy in the Afghan War has been based around the conceit that the conflict is in a “stalemate,” despite mounting losses by the Afghan government. Advisers have offered a classified assessment on the conflict recently, however, conceding that the Ghani government’s survival is at risk, and that the war is being “slowly” lost.

Their solution, as with everyone else, is even bigger escalation, with reports from those familiar with the plan saying that the US needs “more than 50,000” ground troops in Afghanistan to ensure Ghani’s survival, with an eye toward eventually defeating the Taliban.

That’s a big escalation, and a much bigger one than has been suggested in previous reports, which initially presented the proposed escalation as 3,000 to 5,000, and most recently made it a choice between 3,000 or keeping troop levels flat. The Pentagon is evasive about troop levels in recent months, but around 8,400 troops are believed to presently be in Afghanistan.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Forgive me, but where the heck are these 50,000 troops supposed to come from, without the reinstitution of the draft, given the stretched-thin state of the American military?!?

There is utterly no military metric by which the US/NATO invasion and occupation of Afghanistan can possibly be characterised as a "success" (unless you want to brand the burgeoning opium poppy trade, which is funding off the shelf operations for various "alphabet soup agencies, over which Congress has utterly no oversight, a "success").

Images: US troops guarding opium poppy fields in Afghanistan

What the US government and NATO should do is to withdraw troops as quickly as safely possible, then negotiate with whatever government is left standing Kabul for the pipeline and mineral rights.

Of course, that...would be logical.

Those pipeline rights were what got the US government and military embroiled in Afghanistan in the first place.

US planned war in Afghanistan long before September 11

NSA TO EXPAND SURVEILLANCE OF US, FOREIGN ELECTIONS OVER “RUSSIAN HACKER” FEARS

Last Tuesday, during his testimony to the Senate Armed Services Committee, National Security Agency director Admiral Mike Rogers echoed the previous testimonies given by former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper and other U.S. law enforcement and intelligence officials, who have sought to use the “Russian hacking” narrative as leverage to justify a greater role for their own agencies in supervising U.S. elections.

Following a question from Senator Mazie Hirono (D-HI) during the hearing, Rogers stated, “If we define election infrastructure as critical to the nation and we are directed by the president or the secretary, I can apply our capabilities in partnership with others – because we won’t be the only ones, the Department of Homeland Security, the FBI – I can apply those capabilities proactively with some of the owners of those systems.”

‘We’re sorry, honey. We sacrificed the human race to demons.’ After-Life debriefing from the Goddess and angels

G: Yes.

Trump’s Plan Finally Becomes Clear. “War is Good for Business”

The first stage of U.S. President Donald Trump’s plan to restore America’s former dominance as a “manufacturing country” will be announced this coming weekend in Riyadh Saudi Arabia and Washington DC, but its outlines are now already more than clear.

The biggest-ever foreign sale of U.S.-made weaponry will be announced at that time, and, according to a little-noticed report by Reuters on May 12th, an unidentified U.S. government official informed Reuters that “We are in the final stages of a series of deals,” whose size will be of truly extraordinary historic proportions.

Trump will announce during this, his first trip abroad as the U.S. President, starting on Friday May 19th, deals for the fundamentalist-Sunni government of Saudi Arabia to purchase more than $100 billion, and perhaps more even than $300 billion, in U.S.-made weaponry.

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF, in fact, this analysis is true (and I tend to agree with this author), we are looking at generations of endless war and destruction,so long as nuclear annihilation is not triggered.

But when the American military understands that they do not have the weaponry, the troop strength, the money, or the manufacturing to assure a conventional victory against whoever is the "victim du jour" of those in the bowels of power in the Unhinged Surveilled States of America, that is when those little brass keys will be turned to unleash this country's nuclear arsenal.

Does anyone remember the Sherlock Holmes film " Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows", in which the evil Professor Moriarty was eager to see a war, any war, start in Europe, because he had a lock on both the bullets and the bandages, and would profit handsomely from the outcome of such a war?!?

The cold, hard reality here is that it won't be Donald Trump who will profit directly from these deals with Saudi Arabia; but his big-time military/industrial complex friends will , and that means big time donations to his re-election campaign, assuming he stays in office.

I have never been enthusiastic about Donald Trump. He is neither conservative nor libertarian. What I do like about him is that he not politically correct, he is not a Green and he is not Clinton. I hope he will be successful because if he fails America may elect someone like Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren. -- The Hill reported last week that Warren is, “in the hearts and minds of liberal activists, a leader of the party, that her voice carries some weight.” -- Warren is a dangerous ultra-liberal Democrat who cannot be written off the way Maxine Waters and her ilk are.

Sheer Lunacy on Campus

Americans who see themselves as either liberal or conservative should rise up against this totalitarian trend on America’s college campuses. I believe the most effective way to do so is to hit these campus tyrants where it hurts the most — in the pocketbook. Lawmakers should slash budgets, and donors should keep their money in their pockets.

COMPLY OR LOSE YOUR JOB – HR 1313 WOULD FORCE VACCINATION AND DNA SUBMISSION

A new bill, HR 1313, has been introduced by North Carolina Congresswoman Virginia Foxx which is designed to give employers absolute power over the employee by mandating whatever they deem to be proper “heath prevention” measures. These measures would include submitting DNA records as well as mandatory vaccinations and other perceived “health preventive” measures designed for the “greater good” of the general public. The result of not complying with this new law of course would be losing your job.

USS Carl Vinson to Remain Near Shores of Korean Peninsula in Open-Ended Mission

The US aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson strike group, which has been stationed near the Korean peninsula since April, will remain deployed in the region for an indefinite period in the light of Pyongyang’s recent nuclear missile test, local media reported Tuesday.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Call me silly, but "indefinite deployment" of the USS Carl Vinson strike group does not auger well for peace, particularly in light of the following disturbing development:

Seoul May Launch Preemptive Strike in Case of ‘Imminent’ Pyongyang Attack

The article goes on to state: "South Korea may carry out a preemptive strike if it becomes evident that North Korea will launch a massive missile attack against the country, South Korean Defense Minister Han Min-koo said Tuesday".

This statement appears to be completely at odds with South Korean President-elect Moon's "Sunshine Policy", which favors engagement with North Korea, almost as though Defense Minister Han "didn't get the memo".

So I have to wonder: Is Defense Minister Han DC's "Man" in South Korea?!? What could possibly be the agenda of making a threat like this, other than to provoke Kim Jun-un to do something completely, and irrevocably stupid?

The short answer is, there is no other reason; and that is cause for concern.

Are They Really Out to Get Trump?

The rationale Trump haters have fabricated is simple: the president and his team colluded with the Russians to rig the 2016 election in his favor, which, if true, would provide grounds for impeachment. The driving force, in terms of the argument being made, is that removing Trump must be done “for the good of the country” and to “correct a mistake made by the American voters.” The mainstream media is completely on board of the process, including the outlets that flatter themselves by describing their national stature, most notably the New York Times and Washington Post.

So what is to be done? For starters, until Donald Trump has unambiguously broken a law the critics should take a Valium and relax.

Spread of combat, cholera wreaks misery, collapse in Yemen

Spilling into the hallways of crowded Yemeni hospitals, children writhe in pain from cholera. Displaced villagers roam baking hot plains and barren mountains to evade warring militias.

The escalating outbreak of disease and displacement of tens of thousands by recent fighting has inflamed one of the world's worst humanitarian crises, pushing Yemen's war-pummeled society ever nearer to collapse.

Cholera - a diarrheal disease spread by food or water tainted with human faeces - has killed 180 people in less than three weeks, according to the Geneva-based International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

Samira Ali, a worried mother, expressed shock at the scene at Sabaeen Hospital in Sanaa, the ancient capital in the north held by the armed Houthi movement since late 2015.

"My young son suddenly started suffering from severe diarrhea. We went to the hospital and found it full, we couldn't find a place," said Ali, a teacher.

Webmaster's Commentary:

One has to wonder if this pandemic was deliberately started by the Saudi coalition, through fouling Yemen's water sources; it has been certainly been done before:

During the closing stages of the Rhodesian Bush War, the Rhodesian government resorted to use chemical and biological warfare agents. Watercourses at several sites inside the Mozambique border were deliberately contaminated with cholera.

As death from malnutrition stalks the country, because the US-enabled Saudi military have blocked Yemeni ports, meaning food cannot get in, starving children are most likely to get sick and die more quickly.

Images: Yemeni children starving to death from malnutrition

And yet, the House of Saud; the Saudi Government; the Saudi Military; the US government and US military are completely morally comfortable with these horrific deaths by malnutrition, now coupled with this cholera pandemic.

So I have to ask myself: what kind of monsters are these people for whom the indirect slaughter and genocide of innocent kids, from malnutrition and cholera, is perfectly fine?!?

Sheldon Adelson 'Furious' at Tillerson Over Delay in U.S. Embassy Move

Sheldon Adelson, the Republican mega-donor who gave tens of millions of dollars to President Donald Trump's election campaign and then added another five million to Trump's inauguration committee, is once again angry at the president he helped elect - according to a report published on Sunday in the newsletter Axios.

Adelson, according to the report, told people close to him that he was "furious" at the comments made by Secretary of State Rex Tillerson on NBC's "Meet the Press." Tillerson said in an interview that President Trump was deliberating whether fulfilling his election promise to move the U.S. embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem would help the prospect of reaching an Israeli-Palestinian peace agreement, or hurt it.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Poor little Sheldon, not getting what he thought he paid for?!?

Mr. Adelson, a word, please: such a move would destroy any possibility of an Israel/Palestinian peace agreement.

But you already knew that, which is why you want such a move to go forward.

This would signal the complete American government's betrayal of the Palestinians, whose possibility of existing as a nation-state has already been preempted by the way in which Jewish-only settlements have been created, so that no contiguous state of Palestine can exist.

South Korea Wants to Reopen Communications With North

Since his election last week, South Korean President Moon Jae-in has repeatedly made clear he wants to improve relations with North Korea. To that end, South Korean officials say their immediate priority is to reopen the lines of communication with them at all.

The biggest obstacle to doing that is the United States, and President Moon is dispatching a new Ambassador to DC. President Trump has made clear that he believes diplomacy has “failed,” and that he would only accept any discussions with North Korea under very limited circumstances, which other officials suggested meant they had to stop materially everything the US finds objectionable.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The Deep State in the Unhinged Surveilled States of America will do everything in its power to prevent this from happening.

So President Moon, a word please; kindly double, or treble, the personal protection detail you have around you.

The US government, and its agents, are not above assassinating heads of state they believe are not "in tune" with their agenda.

Just look at what happened to Libya's Qaddafi.

Please be communicating, diplomatically, with your Chinese counterparts, to see how they can help open the door for this dialogue to being with North Korea.

Because at the end of the day, it is only dialogue, and not war, which can achieve positive changes here.

GAO: Thousands discharged for military misconduct had mental health diagnosis

The top government watchdog said Tuesday that nearly a quarter of U.S. troops discharged for misconduct were given other-than-honorable discharges despite previously being diagnosed with a mental health condition.

The Government Accountability Office (GAO) in its report faulted branches of the Department of Defense (DOD) for having policies inconsistent with — or poor enforcement of — official Pentagon rules for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), traumatic brain injury (TBI) or sexual trauma.

“As a result of policy inconsistencies and limited monitoring, DOD has little assurance that certain service members diagnosed with PTSD or TBI receive the required screening and counseling prior to being separated for misconduct and that all service members, including officers, have been trained on how to identify symptoms of mild TBI in the deployed setting,” the GAO wrote.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This absolutely stinks, and our military absolutely deserve far better than this. I would like to hope that President Trump will address this, and get this issue resolved.

Chaffetz Demands FBI Hand Over All Comey's Notes, Memos, & Recordings Related To Trump

Update: Jason Chaffetz office just released the letter sent to the FBI's Andrew McCabe demanding all Comey-Trump related memos...

Today, the New York Times reported former Federal Bureau of Investigation Director James Comey memorialized the content of phone calls and meetings with the President in a series of internal memoranda. At least one such memorandum reportedly describes a conversation in which the President referenced the FBI investigation of former National Security Advisor Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn and said to Comey, "I hope you can let this go."

Webmaster's Commentary:

OK, it's official; the Deep State of the Unhinged, Surveilled States of America, has decided to take Trump down, and by any means necessary.

IF, in fact it happened, and I am not passing judgement at this point, this is an attempt at obstruction of justice, which is an impeachable offence.

IF it did not happen, and Trump has ways and means of proving it did not, it is Comey's "revenge porn" of the most sickening nature possible, courtesy of American partisan politics.

UK POLICE CHARGE ACTIVIST UNDER TERRORISM LAW FOR REFUSING TO HAND OVER PASSWORDS

On Sunday May 14, Middle East Eye reported that Muhammad Rabbani, the director of human rights group CAGE that focuses on terrorism cases, was arrested after refusing to give up his phone and computer passwords while crossing the UK border in 2016. Now, the Metropolitan Police has formally charged Rabbani for obstructing an examination under a controversial piece of terrorism legislation. Experts say this may be the first arrest made for refusing to disclose a password under that specific section, and that the legislation grants police officers sweeping powers to search individuals and their devices without the approval of a judge.

OREGON OFFICIALS THREATEN TO SEIZE 2,000 ACRE ORGANIC FARM, SPRAY IT WITH ROUNDUP

Sherman County Oregon believes the 2,000 acre Azure Farms is not doing enough to control Canada Thistle, a noxious weed. In this case, not doing enough means not spraying weeds with herbicides.

To remedy the alleged problem, the county proposes seizing the farm and spraying everything with Roundup and other herbicides. Azure Farms is certified organic. Of course, organic farms cannot by definition use herbicides, so the farm would be forced out of business by the county government.

Adding insult to injury, the county would place a lien on the property forcing it to pay for the herbicides.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Sherman county officials have most likely been purchased by Monsanto, and/or other manufacturers of aligned poisons; it was, most probably, an easy "investment" to the benefit of these chemical companies.

RETIRED GREEN BERET WARNS A SUCCESSFUL DERAILMENT OF TRUMP'S EFFORTS IS WELL UNDER WAY; WAR IS INEVITABLE

With the Republicans in control of both the Senate and the House of Representatives, at this point, the bill to repeal Obamacare should have already passed both houses of Congress and been on the President’s desk to sign: this was not done, and the Republican Party is to blame.

If the President is unable to make a change while he has both houses of Congress under Republican control, what will happen after the Midterm election changes the complexion of Congress and makes it Democrat? How will he be reelected, and if so, to what end? He waited too long to fire Comey…a name that will torment us in the news even more than that of Natalie Holloway…and now it is turning around to bite him. What is the solution?

Webmaster's Commentary:

There are a number of possible theatres where such a war could start.

But I would like to suggest to President Trump that after 16 consecutive years of war, the American public is both war-weary, and war-skeptical.

I have mentioned many times at this blog, that under President Trump, we will probably see the reinstitution of the draft in this country, for both our young men, and our young women.

But there are some difficult challenges here, and these are, that at this time in its history, the US military doesn't have the weaponry; the money; the manufacturing; or the troop strength to prevail successfully in a conventional war against the most likely opponents, Russia and/or China.

If President Trump does not move to resolve these problems, and quickly, the US military will most likely, lose the next major military conflict because of the issues I have just mentioned.

STEVE MNUCHIN’S OLD COMPANY JUST SETTLED FOR $89 MILLION FOR RIPPING OFF THE GOVERNMENT ON DODGY LOANS

For four years during Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin’s tenure as Chairman of OneWest Bank, its reverse mortgage subsidiary Financial Freedom ripped off the government by receiving unlawful federal insurance payments on reverse mortgages, according to an $89 million Justice Department settlement made public today.

Financial Freedom serviced thousands of government-insured reverse mortgages from 2011 to 2016. According to the settlement, the company repeatedly filed insurance claims with the Federal Housing Administration (FHA), and received interest payments, without following program guidelines. This gave Financial Freedom a critical backstop for reverse mortgages that often harmed borrowers.

“This lender failed to comply with FHA servicing requirements and sought to receive financial gains that it was not legally entitled to,” said Inspector General for the Department of Housing and Urban Development, David Montoya, in a statement accompanying the settlement.

VIDEO: CNN HOST SCREAMS AT NAVY SEAL WHO DARES TO QUESTION CREDIBILITY OF “ANONYMOUS” SOURCES

CNN Anchor Kate Bolduan lost her mind in typical liberal left outrage screaming at US Navy Seal, Carl Higbie, to “be quiet” while clapping her hands in anger over his skepticism of anonymous sources.

Fake news CNN is upset that someone dare question the integrity of journalism in the United States and the plethora of “anonymous” sources that are often used to provide reliable information Trump, Russia, and election hacking and even the inner working of Putin’s brain.

Why would this Navy Seal raise questions regarding a “memo” from the very trustworthy former FBI Director James Comey…all of which is revolving around the fact that President Trump mention to Russia’s Lavrov that ISIS is looking to bring down passenger airlines.

Is CNN upset that Trump is sharing information to thwart ISIS attacks on civilian airlines.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I don't know if these exist anymore, but when I was a kid in high school, there were such things in school as "civics classes", where we learned about the 5 bedrocks of true journalism.

Though $3 million is small in comparison to the Food and Drug Administration’s $2.8 billion budget, people are pointing to the political and moral implications of allowing a government organization to tout the benefits of GMO foods despite scientific evidence that proves otherwise.

Financial Weapons Of Mass Destruction: The Top 25 U.S. Banks Have 222 Trillion Dollars Of Exposure To Derivatives

The recklessness of the “too big to fail” banks almost doomed them the last time around, but apparently they still haven’t learned from their past mistakes. Today, the top 25 U.S. banks have 222 trillion dollars of exposure to derivatives. In other words, the exposure that these banks have to derivatives contracts is approximately equivalent to the gross domestic product of the United States times twelve. As long as stock prices continue to rise and the U.S. economy stays fairly stable, these extremely risky financial weapons of mass destruction will probably not take down our entire financial system. Shades of 1956 Suez Disaster and the Greater Israel Project: Israel Schemes to Annex The Occupied Territories with US Support

The US Republican President will have the use of billions of dollars in casino funds plus the power of the AIPAC and CFI lobbies in Washington and in Westminster, respectively – both being key players in an international movement to legalise the Israeli occupation of the West Bank, East Jerusalem and the Golan Heights.

Upon completion of the land grab, the Netanyahu government apparently intends to carry out a unilateral annexation of the Occupied Territories whilst contemporaneously expelling the 5 million indigenous Palestinians in a forced transfer from their ancestral lands to new refugee camps in adjoining states of Lebanon, Egypt, Jordan and Syria.

Webmaster's Commentary:

How in the world does Tel Aviv expect to execute this policy?!?

So Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, a word, please; have the countries to which you wish to expel all Palestinians, which include Lebanon, Egypt, Jordan and Syria, assented to this hair-brained scheme of yours?!?

My suspicion is, absolutely not; their refugee camps are already overflowing, courtesy of the wars in Iraq; Afghanistan; Syria; and and their ability to take in any more refugees is completely nil.

So how are you going to "relocate" these Palestinians from their homes, arrest them, and drop them over the borders of these countries with a parachute, or just herd them up like animals, and release them at the fuzziest areas of the borders of these countries, and tell those countries' leadership, "These people are your problem now!!?!?"

Or is the real agenda here a very Hitlerian, "Final Solution", which would be to execute all Palestinians who refuse to leave?!?

Azerbaijan hits Armenian missile system in Nagorno-Karabakh

Azerbaijan's Defense Ministry says it has destroyed an Armenian air defense missile system in Nagorno-Karabakh.

Nagorno-Karabakh is officially part of Azerbaijan, but since a separatist war ended in 1994 it has been under the control of forces that claim to be local ethnic Armenians but that Azerbaijan claims include regular Armenian military. Efforts to negotiate a settlement have failed, and frequent clashes have continued.

Azerbaijan's Defense Ministry said its forces on Monday destroyed an Osa air defense system along with its crew, adding that its deployment near the line of control was a "provocation" and a threat to Azerbaijani aircraft.

Israeli police volunteer gets seven months for killing unarmed Palestinian laborer

David Arik Bibi Rubi fatally shot Antar Shibli al-Aqraa as he was fleeing Border Police volunteers searching a cemetery for Palestinians who were in Israel illegally.

A court sentenced a Border Police volunteer to seven months in prison for killing a Palestinian in a cemetery in central Israel in 2013.

The Kfar Sava Magistrate's Court also ordered David Arik Bibi Rubi to pay the family 100,000 shekels ($28,000) in compensation as part of the court-approved plea bargain, under which Rubi was convicted of negligent homicide in the killing of Antar Shibli al-Aqraa at Petah Tikva's Yarkon Cemetery.

In November 2013, Rubi and two other Border Police volunteers were searching the cemetery for Palestinians who were in Israel illegally. During their search, they located 41 such Palestinians. The other two volunteers guarded them while Rubi continued searching.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Welcome to the "new normal" for Palestinians (legally or illegally) in Israel; a swift assassination, even if that person is unarmed.

And I have to wonder; when Rubi was yelling at the guy to stop, was he yelling in Hebrew (a language which Al-Aqraa would not have understood), or in Arabic?!?

I would almost be willing to bet you that this 7 month sentence will get commuted, and quickly.

Last 1,000 rebels leave Damascus district under evacuation deal

More than 1,000 insurgents and their families left an opposition-held district of Damascus on Monday, completing an agreement between the Syrian government and rebels, Syrian state media outlets and a war monitoring group said.

Well over 3,000 people have left Qaboun in two days of evacuations, paving the way for the government to regain control of the area, the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

They headed for areas still under opposition control east of the Syrian capital, or for the northwestern province of Idlib, also held by insurgents, it said.

Syria's military released a statement saying it had "returned peace and security to the Qaboun area" after killing many insurgents and blowing up tunnels they had used for supplies.

Jewish life in Iran was 'always better than in Europe'

Iran is frequently at odds with Israel, despite having the second biggest Jewish community in the Middle East. DW's Theresa Tropper spoke with the director of Tehran's Jewish Committee, about why that is the case.

DW: How is life as a Jew in the Islamic Republic?

Siamak Morsadegh: It's a lot better than many people think. Jews are a recognized minority here, so we can practice our religion freely. We have more than 20 working synagogues in Tehran and at least five kosher butcheries. In some European countries that is not allowed because of animal rights. In Iran, it is.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Beautifully said, and eloquently spoken!!!

But this has been a source of friction for the Israeli government for years, because Jews in Iran generally are living so well that they see no point in "making Aliyah" (immigrating) to Israel.

Unfortunately, the government in Tehran is in Israel's crosshairs, and the Israelis are slobbering all over themselves to figure out a way to regime change Iran; and also unfortunately, President Trump may just attempt to do this before he leaves office, potentially putting the US military squarely in confrontation with Russia, whose military and civilian leadership have always said that should Iran be attacked, it will come to Iran's aid.

And to that potential end, comes the following, very disturbing story from 13 May of this year:

Claims of North Korea Links to Cyber Attack ‘Well Short of Proof’

Researchers investigating last week’s cyber attacks involving the WannaCry ransomware say that early versions of the software had some code in common with past attacks by the “Lazarus Group,” which some officials have accused of being North Korean hackers.

The Lazarus Group was behind a handful of past attacks, most notably the Sony hacking incident of 2014, which officials attributed to North Korea primarily because it came around the release of the movie The Interview, which involved a plot to kill North Korea’s leader.

The researchers who noted the similar code conceded that copying snippets of code between hacker groups is not uncommon, and that this was “well short of proof” of an actual relationship between the two. Indeed, most of the WannaCry code was a copy of exploits developed by the NSA.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It appears that those in the bowels of power in the USSA (the Unhinged, Surveilled States of America), are desperate for ANY accusation which might "fly' in public opinion in terms of getting it to go along with a war against North Korea, which may well escalate into a war against China.

They seem to have missed the point, thank you very much, that Americans are profoundly war-weary, and war-skeptical at this point in their history.

Turkey’s War on Kurds Increasingly Crosses Borders: Erdogan's US Visit to Focus on His Anger at US Support for YPG

Officially, Turkey considers itself at war with the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), a war which has lasted decades. Increasingly, however, PKK is being very vaguely defined, and includes Kurdish groups in several countries which Turkey argues are all basically PKK.

Doing this has allowed Turkey to go after limited PKK forces who have crossed the border into Iraq or Syria, but as lines blur, it’s tough to argue that Turkey isn’t just at war with Kurds in general at this point, particularly in Syria, where the PKK is virtually non-existent, and Turkey is after the YPG claiming they are the same group.

It is this interest in warring with the YPG, and with Kurds as such, that will be a big focus of Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on his upcoming visit to the US, where he will express outrage at US military support provided to the YPG to fight against ISIS, arguing that amounts to backing a terrorist group.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The problem for Erdogan, is not so much the Kurds in Syria, as it is the US government's desire to carve out an independent Kurdistan in Syria, as a "buffer state" between Turkey and Syria.

CARVING OUT “KURDISTAN” IS THE US’ NEW END GAME IN SYRIA

I am watching the Faux feed as I type this, and Presidents Trump and Erdogan are making their joint statement. Turkish President Erdogan is NOT smiling.

President Trump has his work cut out for him, to convince Erdogan that a neighboring Kurdistan will be a "good thing", because it will balkanize bits of Syria, and that will help keep Turkey safe.

I have to wonder what the "quid pro quo" on this US-created independent Kurdistan will be, behind closed doors.

And apparently, no one has sent Syrian President Bashir Al Assad the memo that the establishment of such a country will gobble up hunks of the sovereign state of Syria.

STATE DEPARTMENT: RENAMED AL-QAEDA NOT A TERRORIST ORGANIZATION - CAN RECEIVE CIA SUPPLIES

Max Abrams, a professor who works about terrorism, came up with this new definition of "terrorism":

Nonstate actors who use violence against civilians for a political goal and haven't been supported by the US.

The highlighted part is "new" to those who have not learned from history and the many occasions of U.S. support for (typically extremely right-wing) terrorist organizations like the "contras" in Nicaragua, OUN fascists in Ukraine or Jihadi Mujaheddin in Afghanistan. It can indeed be argued that the U.S. created al-Qaeda as well as the Islamic State (ISIS).

But lets just be happy that people get again reminded of the issue.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So the cold, hard reality here, is that the Government of the United States, and its military, DOES support "Nonstate actors who use violence against civilians..."

How the Sam Hill did this country get to the point of "The ends justify the means", no matter how horrific, and murderous those means are?!?

I am totally disgusted by, and mourn for, my late country, now having devolved from the United States of America into the Unhinged and Surveilled States of America. All Hail, the USSA!

With all of these military misadventures for the last 16 years (ultimately, for private profit) into which the US military have been blithely ordered, none of them can be characterised, by any metric, as being "on the right side of history", or morality, for that matter.

HELP NEEDED: Azure Organic Farm in Oregon about to be forcibly mass poisoned with glyphosate by the county government

Sherman County may be issuing a Court Order on May 22, 2017, to quarantine Azure Farms and possibly to spray the whole farm with poisonous herbicides, contaminating them with Milestone, Escort and Roundup herbicides.

This will destroy all the efforts Azure Farms has made for years to produce the very cleanest and healthiest food humanly possible. About 2,000 organic acres would be impacted; that is about 2.8 times the size of the City of London, England, and 1.5 times the size of the city center of Philadelphia that could be sprayed with noxious, toxic, polluting herbicides.

The county would then put a lien on the farm to pay for the expense of the labor and chemicals used.

REPORT: U.S., BRITISH FORCES ENTER SOUTHERN SYRIA ALONGSIDE TERRORISTS; IS A BIGGER BATTLE SHAPING UP?

Days after reports that Damascus was on high alert due to increased U.S. troop levels on the Jordanian border and an apparent preparation for an invasion from the south and southeast, the United States and Britain have indeed pushed into Syria from the very location earlier reports suggested would be used.

The reports were released first from the SMART News Agency, which writes that approximately 150 U.S. and British military personnel have entered Syria from Jordan.

SMART News Agency has provided video evidence of their claims. This video reportedly shows several military personnel in armed Humvees engaging in a firefight alongside terrorist forces, who were operating the cameras. Indeed, the familiar “Allahu Akbar” chant can be heard throughout the video.

Hamimah is around 90 km east of Palmyra, near the Deir ez-Zour countryside. Albukamal is also located nearby, a town of strategic importance to the U.S.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I don't know what the Vegas odds-makers are betting on the timing of a a direct conflict between US/UK troops and Syrian/Russian troops, but were I a betting woman, I could not bet against such a scenario, and very soon for the following reason:

NATO BUILDS INFRASTRUCTURE FOR PERMANENT MILITARY PRESENCE NEAR RUSSIA'S BORDERS

A group of about 50 combat engineers based at Canadian Forces Base Gagetown were deployed to Latvia on April 29 as part of Operation Reassurance. The mission is to build a town for 500 soldiers. According to commanding officer Lt.-Col. Chris Cotton, the installation will have «everything you would expect in a small town, from its kitchen to its quarters, its electrical distribution system, water distribution system, internet, gym facilities that would allow people to survive over the long term in Latvia». Obviously, this is an element of vast infrastructure to provide for a long-term commitment.

Webmaster's Commentary:

These massive, permanent deployments, coupled with these exercises, not auger well for peace between Russia and Europe at all.

TERRORIST CONFESSES TO TAKING PART IN STAGED CHEMICAL WEAPONS ATTACKS IN SYRIA, WESTERN MEDIA SILENT

After the bombings, as more and more evidence came to light, it became so obvious that the Syrian government had nothing to do with the attacks that any further reference to Khan Sheykhoun should now conjure up memories of an American empire looking for any reason to launch attacks against Syria, so much so that it is ready to slaughter children under the guise of seeking revenge for the killing of children.

Now, however, there is little doubt left as to whether or not the Syrian government was involved in the attack since one of the West’s proxy terrorists recently confessed to taking part in the staging of the attack to be blamed on the Syrian government.

According to a report by Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA),

Webmaster's Commentary:

So with this revelation, where the heck are ABC/CBS/MSNBC/FOX/CNN on this story?!?

Obviously, no where to be found, because it does not fit with the "narrative" of those in the Bowels of Power in the Unhinged States of America!!

DEEP STATE AGAIN TRIES TO BLOCK DIALOGUE WITH RUSSIA: WASHINGTON POST’S PHONEY STORY ABOUT TRUMP’S LEAK

Washington Post story Trump leaked 'classified information' to Lavrov is phony and a further attempt to prevent a meaningful dialogue between the US and Russia.

The Washington Post story about President Trump’s supposed leak of highly classified intelligence information about ISIS to the Russians is a case study of the lengths to which the President’s enemies are prepared to go in order to discredit him and to stop any chance of a rapprochement with Russia.
Briefly, the Washington Post claims that Trump told Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov and the Russians during his recent meeting with them in the Oval Office information about an alleged plot by ISIS to carry out attacks on passenger aircraft using laptops. The Washington Post describes Trump’s supposed wrongdoing in this way

Webmaster's Commentary:

The Washington Compost has lost whatever microcosm of credibility it ever had left, by publishing this "fake news", and this piece of codswallop reminds us to the degree of subterfuge and outright lying it will do to accommodate its masters in the Deep American State, who want to see this country in a perpetual state of war.

After all, it will never be their kids who get blown to bloody bits or maimed for life, even if there is a return to a draft in this country.

STATE OF DENIAL: THE ECONOMY NO LONGER WORKS AS IT DID IN THE PAST

There’s no Plan B for a state-corporate form of central-planning capitalism that is no longer functioning.

If there is one reality that is denied or obscured by the Status Quo, it is that the economy no longer works as it did in the past. This is the fundamental economic context of our current slide into political-social disintegration.

The Status Quo narrative is: the policies that worked for the past 70 years are still working today. Boiled down to its Keynesian state-corporate essence, the Status Quo economic narrative is simple:

All we need to do to escape a “soft patch” (recession) is for governments to borrow and spend more money to temporarily boost incomes and demand until the private sector gets back on its feet and starts borrowing and spending more.

To help the private sector, central banks lower interest rates so it’s cheaper to borrow and spend.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The question is not if the excrement is going to hit the ventilation shaft; the question is when.

And most of the financial writers I respect indicate that we are looking, ultimately, at a very sharp market "correction" later this year. The Fed just cannot keep limping about at the US economy's current state without this happening.

And the following fits in very disturbingly to a future with a very volatile, and negative, potential for the markets, particularly the financial stocks:

A Tool of Political Suppression (The eternal FBI)

The FBI has long been an enemy of the citizens of the United States and abused their authority by suppressing dissent and intimidating political opposition to the government. But now, the FBI risks becoming the exclusive tool of one political party, at which point others in government and politics may be targeted! Can’t we all agree that the proper target of the FBI is the peasantry and not the political classes? -- The FBI has always been political, and always will be. Trump’s choice will not be inherently better or worse for the American people than picking someone who is not a politician. But Trump’s choice will be pretty scary for those in the government on the left.

MAJOR BEXALERT!!! : Syrian regime using crematorium to 'cover up' mass murders, State Department says

This is pathetic. The snow is melting so the building is a crematorium! Gotcha!

The Syrian regime is using a site outside Damascus to cremate the bodies of thousands of prisoners it has abducted, jailed and murdered during the country’s long-running civil war, the U.S. State Department alleged Monday.

Acting Assistant Secretary for Near Eastern Affairs Stuart Jones showed surveillance photos that -- combined with intelligence assessments and other reports -- officials believe show Bashar Assad’s government is complicit in covering up evidence of mass killings at the Sednaya Prison. Located near Damascus, the prison previously has been called a "human slaughterhouse" by Amnesty International.

Jones also charged that the “atrocities” were carried out “with unconditional support” from Russia and Iran.

The U.S. conclusion is based in part on photos that show snow melting near the building believed to be the crematorium.

Ron Paul urges President Trump to scrap top generals’ war plans

President Trump’s Generals all seem to be pushing for a major U.S. military escalation in the Middle East and south Asia. The President goes back and forth, one minute saying “we’re not going into Syria,” while the next seeming to favor another surge. He has given the military much decision-making latitude and may be persuaded by his Generals that the only solution is to go in big. If he follows such advice, it is likely his presidency itself will be buried in that graveyard of empires.

Germany Confiscating Homes To Use For Migrants

In an unprecedented move, Hamburg authorities confiscated six residential units in the Hamm district near the city center. A trustee appointed by the city is now renovating the properties and will rent them — against the will of the owner — to tenants chosen by the city. District spokeswoman Sorina Weiland said that all renovation costs will be billed to the owner of the properties.
Similar expropriation measures have been proposed in Berlin, the German capital, but abandoned because they were deemed unconstitutional.
Some Germans are asking what is next: Will authorities now limit the maximum amount of living space per person, and force those with large apartments to share them with strangers?

Authorities in Hamburg, the second-largest city in Germany, have begun confiscating private dwellings to ease a housing shortage — one that has been acutely exacerbated by Chancellor Angela Merkel's decision to allow more than two million migrants into the country in recent years.

Webmaster's Commentary:

If the German people haven't revolted by now, this move may well have them at the throats of the bureaucrats who ordered this done.

Theresa May’s Conservatives threaten social media crackdown if elected

If Theresa May and the Conservative Party retain control of the government in the June 8 U.K. elections, they vow to beef up online protections for U.K. citizens, threatening fines against social media companies who fail to safeguard their users.

They want to introduce a new measure that could fine or punish internet firms which fail to adequately flag and take down content harmful to minors or “direct users unintentionally to hate speech, pornography or other sources of harm,” according to a press release.

“The internet has brought a wealth of opportunity but also significant new risks which have evolved faster than society’s response to them,” May said. “We want social media companies to do more to help redress the balance and will take action to make sure they do.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Prime Minister May, a word, please: do those "other sources of harm" (a phrase so ambiguous, one could pilot a frigate through it), include telling the truth about what the British government is actually doing, which don't even get a breath's worth of of coverage at the bbc, like the following headlines?!?

Does UK’s lucrative arms trade come at the cost of political repression?

Most Britons believe selling arms to Saudis is unacceptable

href="https://www.theguardian.com/world/2017/jan/28/100m-arms-deal-turkey-blind-eye-rights-abuse">UK’s £100m weapons deal with Turkey ‘turns blind eye to rights abuse’

href="http://www.strategic-culture.org/news/2017/02/24/british-foreign-policy-and-uk-weapons-trade.html">British Foreign Policy and UK Weapons Trade

Because when foreign policy objectives (which seem to include the UK's arming some of the most repressive governments in the world)align with economic opportunity for your very lucrative weapons industry, the outcome is generally civilian slaughter and genocide, as we are seeing with Yemen.

I would imagine that these stories are those you don't want your brother and sister Brits worrying their little heads about, and would scream that these stories constitute the "other harm" to which this legislation refers.

Prime Minister May, the UK gave the world the Magna Carta; you can do far better than this horrifically worded, loose, one size fits all, legislation, which intends to repress honest, fact-checked free speech.

Israel arrests Palestinian writer Ahmad Qatamesh

Israeli forces have carried out raids on homes across the occupied West Bank and detained at least 14 Palestinians on Sunday, among them a prominent intellectual and former political prisoner.

Suha Barghouti, the wife of Ahmad Qatamesh, said "a large force" of Israeli soldiers arrived at their home in the West Bank city of al-Bireh at 4:30 am local time and detained her husband.

General strike against detention of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails
"Until now, we don't know what is going on or where he is," she told Al Jazeera by telephone on Sunday morning, explaining that Israeli soldiers also searched her brother-in-law's nearby home.

In 2013, Qatamesh, a prominent 66-year-old writer, was deemed a "prisoner of conscience" by Amnesty International while he was in an Israeli jail.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So let me get my head around this, please; Israelis (who claim to have the alleged "only democracy in the Middle East), can lock up Palestinians indefinitely for renewable six-month intervals with no trial or charges?!?

In other words, Palestinians can be held indefinitely with no due process, but Jewish Israelis cannot be held in this manner?!?

What is wrong with this picture?!?

Home About Antiwar.com Donate Blog US Casualties Contact Latest NewsNorth Korea Says Tested Missile Capable of Carrying Heavy Nuclear Warhead

North Korea’s state media has claimed that yesterday’s successful missile test was aimed at proving the nation’s capability of carrying a “large scale heavy nuclear warhead,” quoting leader Kim Jong-un as saying the United States mainland is in “sighting range for strikes.”

The missile flew 787 kilometers, landing between Russia and Japan. The Pentagon insisted that the missile was “not consistent” with an ICBM of the sort capable of traveling far enough to hit the US. Moreover, this is a rare successful test for North Korea, whose missiles have several times exploded during takeoff recently.

The claim of nuclear-capability is of course still a huge deal, however this too isn’t really proven by a missile test launch, as North Korea’s ability to miniaturize their nuclear weapons into a warhead is very much still in doubt, though clearly with tensions soaring in the region it is in their interest to claim they have such retaliatory capabilities.

Webmaster's Commentary:

North Korea's missiles most probably cannot hit the mainland; they may, however, be able to hit Hawaii.

The US government "sacrificed" Hawaii once before to get public sentiment behind joining World War 11; would they perhaps, sacrifice the Hawaiian islands again to get public sentiment behind a military attack against North Korea, let's say, with a false flag attack against them, to be blamed on North Korea?!?

I would not bet against this, right now, were I a betting woman.

U.S. MILITARY IS WORLD’S LARGEST POLLUTER – HUNDREDS OF BASES GRAVELY CONTAMINATED

Last week, mainstream media outlets gave minimal attention to the news that the U.S. Naval station in Virginia Beach had spilled an estimated 94,000 gallons of jet fuel into a nearby waterway, less than a mile from the Atlantic Ocean. While the incident was by no means as catastrophic as some other pipeline spills, it underscores an important yet little-known fact – that the U.S. Department of Defense is both the nation’s and the world’s, largest polluter.

Producing more hazardous waste than the five largest U.S. chemical companies combined, the U.S. Department of Defense has left its toxic legacy throughout the world in the form of depleted uranium, oil, jet fuel, pesticides, defoliants like Agent Orange and lead, among others.

In 2014, the former head of the Pentagon’s environmental program told Newsweek that her office has to contend with 39,000 contaminated areas spread across 19 million acres just in the U.S. alone.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is completely insane, and must be fixed as quickly by the US government as is possible.

"PROBABLY MORE" LINKS BETWEEN CLINTON & RUSSIA THAN TRUMP, GOPER EXCLAIMS

A clearly frustrated Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.) said Sunday that there are "probably more" connections between Hillary Clinton and Russia than there are between Moscow and President Trump.

During an interview with John Catsimatidis that aired Sunday on New York's AM 970, The Hill reports that the lawmaker said:

"I am not aware of any evidence whatsoever of any collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia or between Russia and the Trump campaign,"

"There is probably more evidence of links between Russia and the Clinton campaign than anyone even could imagine between Russia and people involved in the Trump campaign,"
Whether this was a response specifically to this week's New York Times' "Russia-Trump Nexus" op-ed desperation, or more generally the tack that Democrats nationwide seem to remain focused on is unclear. However, as Investors.com's John Merline details below, Rep. King may not be far off the facts...

TOM ENGELHARDT: AMERICA’S GLOBALIZATION OF MISERY

On the initial day of the offensive to recapture the city, the Pentagon was already congratulating the Iraqi military for being “ahead of schedule” in a campaign that was expected to “take weeks or even months.” Little did its planners — who had been announcing its prospective start for nearly a year — know. A week later, everything was still “proceeding according to our plan,” claimed then-U.S. Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter. By the end of January 2017, after 100 days of fierce fighting, the eastern part of that city, divided by the Tigris River, was more or less back in government hands and it had, according to New York Times reporters on the scene, been “spared the wholesale destruction inflicted on other Iraqi cities” like Ramadi and Fallujah, even though those residents who hadn’t fled were reportedly “scratching out a primitive existence, deprived of electricity, running water and other essential city services.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Those in the bowels of power in the Unhinged States of America call this "victory"; and in the parlance of the verbal war-porn of the Vietnam war, the Iraqi and US forces have "destroyed the city in order to save it."

But the alleged "victory, is not for the Iraqi people; it is for the American deep state, which has managed to insure that the government in Baghdad is still nominally Western-centric, and that the oil coming from this country is only sold in US dollars.

The genocide of innocent men, women, and children, by bullets, starvation, or maiming to death of these individuals does not matter to the deep American state, or the financial people; this is all about the oil, and all about the money, no matter the human cost here.

There is a rhythm and an energy here, and once you see the pattern, it becomes quite obvious; invade; destroy; regime change; make sure resources are only sold in US dollars, and repeat.

This is the essence of current American foreign policy, all wrapped up in a pretty, cheap, American flag, until and unless it is stopped, before the planet is vaporized in a nuclear holocaust.

Martin King assassinated by US government: new 36-minute interview of King Family civil trial verdict

*hyperlinks/videos live at source*

Coretta Scott King: “We have done what we can to reveal the truth, and we now urge you as members of the media, and we call upon elected officials, and other persons of influence to do what they can to share the revelation of this case to the widest possible audience.” – King Family Press Conference, Dec. 9, 1999.

Dr. King’s 2-minute message to you (full 1967 speech to end the Vietnam War):

Dr. Martin Luther King’s family and personal friend/attorney, William F. Pepper, won a civil trial that found US government agencies guilty of Martin's assassination/wrongful death. The 1999 trial, King Family versus Jowers and Other Unknown Co-Conspirators, is the only trial ever conducted on the assassination of Dr. King. The King Center fully documents the case, with full trial transcript (to more fully explain the following summary of trial evidence, here is the best article I've found).
