Democratic Leadership ADMITS that Clinton Lost the Election Because of Voters’ Economic Worries

We’ve repeatedly said that Trump mainly won the election because voters thought that the status quo would hurt them economically.

Today, the Los Angeles Times reports that the Democratic leadership itself admits that the economy is the issue that sunk Clinton:

Universal Economics

Universal Economics (UnEc) is a non-money alternative economics system which combines the efficiency of a market economy with a strong philosophy of social responsibility. It was first visualized in 1947 by philosopher Addison Brown, in a rudimentary form, as "Prior Choice Economics." But the technology for implementation did not exist at that time. Now it does.

World Suffers From Trump Shell Shock - Here's What Will Happen Next

...

As I have documented for years, the elites openly call for the ultimate eradication of national sovereignty and the formation of a single world economy, a single world currency and, eventually, a single world government. In order to make this omelet, they intend to break a few eggs (and collapse a few economies). By blaming "national sovereignty" (and the people that defend it) for this crisis, they hope to convince the masses that the only practical solution is total centralization. You can read my in-depth analysis and evidence of this in my article “The Economic End Game Explained.”

Can Trump find enough fresh thinkers to do the job?

Trump’s Slim Chance for Greatness. Donald Trump must decide – and decide quickly – whether he wants to be a great U.S. President or a robo-signature machine affixing his name to whatever legislation comes from congressional Republicans and a nodding figurehead acquiescing to more neoconservative foreign policy adventures.

Or, to put it in a vernacular that Trump might use, does he want to be “Paul Ryan’s bitch” on domestic policies? And does he want to surrender his foreign policy to the “wise guys” of Washington’s neocon establishment.

So what gives in regards to the names of his Cabinet that are being floated around?

Mind you, some of the list below was gleaned from the New York Times, so a huge grain of salt should be taken before one delves into this analysis.

Violent clashes between police and anarchist protesters in Athens as Obama begins his final foreign tour before handing over to Trump

Violent clashes broke out in Athens today as left-wing demonstrators protesting against a visit by President Barack Obama tried to break a police cordon and were repelled with tear gas.

No injuries or arrests were reported, but about 3,000 anarchists and students marched through the city center in a demonstration originally planned to reach the U.S. Embassy in another part of town.

A second planned Athens protest by Communist party supporters was due to start later.

FROM OBAMACARE TO TRUMPCARE: NEOLIBERALISM BREWS A SECOND HELPING OF FAILURE

What we do know is that TrumpCare, like ObamaCare, will be a neoliberal, markets-first solution. So the country will have oscillated from the left side of the Overton Window to the right, and simple, rugged, and proven single payer will still be unmentionable in polite company; it will be interesting to watch liberals squirm to avoid discussing it. Since we can cross selling insurance across state lines off as any kind of solution, I’d be surprised if TrumpCare didn’t end up looking like a crapified version of the already crapified ObamaCare.[3] For pre-existing conditions in particular, the Republican plans from 2015 all crapify the coverage (with, for example “least 12-18 months of continuous coverage” being required). Too bad the Democrat victory in 2008 was such a squandered opportunity.

Obama, Clinton will talk to Democrats on Monday

President Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton are planning calls with Democrats on Monday as the party struggles to come to terms with a devastating election defeat.

Obama will host a Monday afternoon call with the Democratic National Committee, according to a notice obtained by POLITICO. The post-election call comes amid ongoing infighting about what direction the party should take and who should be its next leader with Obama leaving the White House and Clinton's surprising defeat.

Clinton will participate in a separate call with House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and House Democrats on Monday.

"Your support throughout this campaign meant everything to Hillary and her entire team, and we are so grateful to you," Clinton's team wrote in an email sent to House Democrats.

Webmaster's Commentary:

And in these conferences, I would almost be willing to bet that Clinton and Obama will say anything to deflect the blame for their party's failure to re-capture the White House, rather than take any tiny bit of personal responsibility for Clinton's spectacular flameout.

Chaos Ensues As Europe Splinters In Response To Trump: UK, France, Hungary Snub EU Emergency Meeting

While America's so-called "establishment", the legacy political system and mainstream media, appear to be melting, and transforming before our eyes into something that has yet to be determined, Europe also appears to be disintegrating in response to the Trump presidential victory: as the FT reports, in a stunning development, Britain and France on Sunday night snubbed a contentious EU emergency meeting to align the bloc’s approach to Donald Trump’s election, exposing rifts in Europe over the US vote.

Hailed by diplomats as a chance to “send a signal of what the EU expects” from Mr Trump, the plan fell into disarray after foreign ministers from the bloc’s two main military powers declined to attend the gathering demanded by Berlin and Brussels.

Webmaster's Commentary:

European leaders need to digest the reality that Trump's election signalled a referendum where globalism (which has economically hurt so many Americans) absolutely got battered and trashed to the point where it will be difficult to resurrect it again any time soon in this country.

With 94 million Americans who want to work, but cannot find jobs, and are not counted by the US Bureau of Labor Statistics as unemployed, if they go beyond 27 weeks of being unemployed.... that's a lot of very ticked off Americans.

These people came out to vote this last election, and if they saw that their vote for Trump "flipped" to Clinton, screamed bloody murder about it.

They were just not going to take their reversals of fortune passively, as the globalists had hoped, but voted for the candidate they thought might offer real change.

We will have to wait and see if Trump Inc can deliver on this; but to be brutally honest, Clinton offered no hope or change for the better; just the same old, same old vacuous promises with no real policy vision behind them, coupled with a criminally arrogant attitude of entitlement.

This is why working women voted, in large numbers, for a Trump presidency.

YOU’LL ONLY UNDERSTAND TRUMP AND BREXIT IF YOU UNDERSTAND THE FAILURE OF GLOBALIZATION

You can only understand the victory of Donald Trump and Brexit once you understand the failure of globalization …

Trump made rejection of globalization a centerpiece of his campaign. In his July 21st acceptance speech as the Republican nominee, he said:

Americanism, not globalism, will be our credo.
The Boston Globe bannered this headline on Thursday: “Trump won. Globalization lost. Now what?”

On election night, CNN’s Jake Tapper explained that many Americans voted for Trump because they are sick of the income inequality, globalization, and politics-as-usual that the status quo have given us. He pointed out that only a handful of people have gotten rich off of globalization, and a lot of people have been left behind.

Counterpunch wrote Friday:

The real meaning of this upset is that Wall Street’s globalization project has been rejected by the citizens of its homeland.

Webmaster's Commentary:

That's it, in a nutshell; a referendum between a failed globalism, which has left so many Americans economically in the dust, and American ingenuity and jobs.

Trump’s Victory: Arrogance Defeated

Little by little a new class alliance formed: the one percent as it is called, or more realistically the richest ten percent who benefit from globalization are allied with the middle class intelligentsia to sell us globalization in the name of “openness to others” and which flaunt the specter of racism or sexism to attract minorities and certain feminists (for although women are not a minority, certain feminist demands are similar to those of minorities).

But that alliance was extremely unnatural in socio-economic terms, because the main victims of globalization are the least qualified workers, often women or members of minorities.

The left’s pro-globalization bias led it astray step by step. First it gave up all effort at regulating the economy, satisfying itself with claiming to share the fruits of growth fairly by ensuring “equal opportunity”. But in the real world, inequalities grew far more than the economy.

With Trump in Power, the Fed Gets Ready for a Reckoning

Paul A. Volcker, the Federal Reserve chairman, received an urgent warning two weeks after Ronald Reagan won the 1980 presidential election. Some of the president-elect’s advisers, he was told, wanted to abolish the central bank and replace it with a computer program that would manage interest rates and monetary policy.

Today, a Democratic Fed leader is once again bracing to see whether victorious and emboldened Republicans will try to overhaul the central bank.

Set Congressional term limits

Create requirement that for every new federal regulation, two existing regulations must be eliminated
Renegotiate NAFTA

Obama set to green-light disputed Dakota Access pipeline

The Obama administration is expected to approve the disputed easement for the Dakota Access pipeline as soon as Monday, according to two sources familiar with the timing — dealing a major blow to climate activists even before Donald Trump takes office.

The decision would let the pipeline be built across the Missouri River near the Standing Rock Sioux's reservation in North Dakota, where protesters have been camped out for months in one of the largest ongoing environmental standoffs of recent years.

The move is not surprising, given that Trump's upset victory tees up the $3.7 billion oil pipeline's eventual approval no matter what the outgoing administration decides. But the expected move is raising concerns among some Dakota Access opponents that nationwide protests planned for Tuesday could turn uncivil.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Please, protesters, on Tuesday, do not listen to those who advocate violence here; you will be horrifically outnumbered, and outgunned, and I fear for your - and your children's - physical safety.

But this move on Obama's part is simply a continuing, and painful, demonstration that he is no less a creation of corporate masters than are his Republican colleagues.

Poll: Half of America Can’t Afford More Than $100 a Month on Health Insurance

More than half of Americans—52.5 percent—say they cannot afford to spend more than $100 a month on health insurance premiums, according to a poll from HealthPocket, a technology company that compares health plans.

The group asked survey respondents at the beginning of open enrollment what was the highest monthly premium they could afford to pay for health insurance in 2017.

More than half of respondents said $100 a month or less, while 15.9 percent said they could afford to spend $200 a month.

Just over 11 percent said they could afford $300 a month, 5.5 percent said they could afford $400 a month, and 4.8 percent said they could spend $500 a month, while and 9.8 percent said they could afford $500 or more.

“Double-digit rate increases for people purchasing insurance in the Affordable Care Act market has renewed questions regarding what people can afford to pay for coverage,” the survey states.

Webmaster's Commentary:

We are seeing droves of people avoid regular checkups because they do not have the money to pay,and cannot afford the more expensive programs, under Obamacare, which is rekitting as I type this.

I hope President-Elect Trump finds a way of making health care more accessible and affordable for more people.

In Europe, there are many, very basic "single payer" programs which people are required to buy; need is completely matched to care, and the insurance companies make their money by selling more elaborate policies when they can.

Nearly half of children are now living in poverty in some parts of the UK, research by the End Child Poverty coalition has found. It’s worth pausing on that. Donald Trump Just Killed Off The TPP

Probably not a coincidence that shortly after President-elect Donald Trump's first official visit to the White House & extended private sit-down with Obama, the Internet exploded with excitement over news that Obama has declared the TPP (Trans-Pacific Partnership) dead, reversing his earlier plan to push for TPP passage before leaving the White House in January. Awesome first deal for us, Mr. Trump. Almost everybody - honest Republicans, honest independents, honest American workers, and honest policy analysts - thought the TPP was a bad idea.
