Oxford University Gives Women More Time On Exams

Oxford University let women have extra time on their summer 2017 exams in an effort to raise text scores in math and science fields.

Women taking these exams received an extra 15 minutes to complete their tests, despite the fact that no changes were made to adjust the difficulty level of the questions or number of questions that were on the test, according to the Telegraph.

WATCH: COP ATTACKS HANDCUFFED SCHOOL GIRL, VIOLENTLY SLAMS HER INTO THE CONCRETE

A school resource officer is under fire after a video was released online that showed him slamming a female student to the ground and then handcuffing her, while two other men stood nearby and did nothing to intervene.

After the video went viral, the La Mesa Police Department responded in a statement, claiming that the 17-year-old girl was “arrested by a La Mesa Police School Resource Officer for refusing to obey a lawful order to leave school grounds and resisting arrest.”

The department claimed that the video released online showed a small segment of an encounter in which “Helix High School staff requested the assistance of the School Resource Officer to remove a student, who was on suspended status and non-compliant with staff directions to leave the campus.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Welcome to "education" in public schools in Amerika, where the State's Representative can slam a kid's head into the floor with absolutely no real provocaton or cause whatsoever, and there will be absolutely no repercussions for that "Resource Officer".

Were I a parent at Helix High, I would pull my kid out of that school so quickly that the principal's head spin.

Before I did this, however, I would be researching the nearest "magnet schools", private schools, and home schooling groups where my kid would at least be educated, and where teachers and principals, working to gether with families, want to keep parents in the loop consistently.

And if all parents here did this, the school would no longer receive the Federal or California State grants which fund it, and the school, ultimately, would have to shut down.

Parents have more power than they realize; but they need to be ready to "come up to the plate" and use it wisely and morally, in defense of their kids.

What do you need to know about your VPN service: Is it really safe?

Unfortunately, not all popular VPN services provide anonymity.

VPN is, in a sense, a tunnel through which encrypted data is transmitted. Your ISP does not have the ability to see which sites you visit, what you type in, etc. Also, the site you are visiting receives not your real IP address, but the VPN server address. It would seem that there is nothing to worry about. In fact, it's not like that.

Currently, commercial providers offer the following VPN protocols:

PPTP is used most widely, fast, easy to configure, but is considered "least secure" compared to the rest.

L2TP + IPSec. L2TP provides “transportation”, and IPSec is responsible for encryption. This bundle has stronger encryption than PPTP. It does not have most vulnerabilities that PPTP has. It also provides message integrity and each party authentication.

Betsy DeVos Bans ‘Toxic’ Common Core Program

Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos has banned Common Core from being taught in U.S. schools after the Obama-era program was found to dumb down American kids.

In a speech Wednesday at an American Enterprise Institute conference, Devos announced that Common Core would no longer be permitted to be taught to children in America.

Prior to her announcement, some schools had already taken it upon themselves to dump the Common Core program, which saw significant improvements in test results afterwards.

One school in Florida, Mason Classical Academy, soared to the number one position in the State’s top schools list, just months of dumping the controversial method of teaching.

The WAR on WHITEY: Schools and colleges are now teaching children to believe that being born white makes you a bad person

Parents of school-age children in Wisconsin are making their grievances known about the latest onslaught of racist curriculum to creep into the state’s public “education” system. According to reports, eighth-graders in West Bend, a northwest suburb of Milwaukee, are apparently now being taught that they’re bad people if their skin color is white, or if their families have two parents of the opposite sex who are still married.

America's schools ‘profoundly unequal’: Study

America's schools are “profoundly unequal,” with low-income, minority students ending up in schools with crumbling walls, old textbooks and unqualified teachers, according to a new report by the US government.

The US Commission on Civil Rights released the report on Thursday, urging Congress to take “bold action” to address inequitable funding in the country’s public school system.

“Although the United States Supreme Court ruled in 1954 that public education is a right that should be available to all on equal terms, the longstanding and persistent reality is that vast funding inequities in our state public education systems render the education available to millions of American public school students profoundly unequal,” the report states.

'African Studies' Exam Blasts Trump As Bigot, Touts Hillary As Unifier

The final exam for one California State University-Northridge class left students with little doubt as to their professor’s opinion of Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.

The online final for African Studies 161, “American Political Institutions: A Black Perspective,” taught by Professor Karin Stanford, asked students about both 2016 presidential nominees in similarly formatted questions, both of which included an “all of the above” option.

“Donald Trump frequently made statements of an _____ nature throughout this presidential campaign,” one question asked, offering students answer choices of “anti-Mexican,” “anti-Muslim,” “anti-woman,” and “all of the above.”

Student Debt Slavery II: Time to Level the Playing Field

The lending business is heavily stacked against student borrowers. Bigger players can borrow for almost nothing, and if their investments don’t work out, they can put their corporate shells through bankruptcy and walk away. Not so with students. Their loan rates are high and if they cannot pay, their debts are not normally dischargeable in bankruptcy. Rather, the debts compound and can dog them for life, compromising not only their own futures but the economy itself.

‘White Genocide’ Professor Claims NYU Has Hired Him as a Visiting Scholar

Controversial former professor George Ciccariello-Maher, who recently resigned from Drexel University, claims that New York University has hired him. NYU confirmed his status as a visiting scholar but states it is an “unpaid appointment.”

Ciccariello-Maher, known best for his “All I want for Christmas is White Genocide” tweet, which he claimed was an attempt to poke fun at the paranoid fantasy that the left wants to decrease the amount of white Americans, recently stepped down from his position at Drexel University. Towards the end of his tenure at Drexel, Ciccariello-Maher was relegated to teaching online courses, as the university was concerned for his safety when he was on campus.

Legislation Seeks to Ban Campus Free Speech ‘Zones’ and ‘Codes’

Kurtz explained the Goldwater bill in an interview with Breitbart News:

We’ve put out what I think is the most comprehensive and toughest bill on campus free speech. What this bill does is ban so-called “free speech codes,” and “free speech zones,” as it also discourages administrators from disinviting controversial speakers who have already been invited by students and faculty members. That’s what most of the other model bills do. But, what the Goldwater model adds to all that is insistence on punishment for students who shout down visiting speakers, or rip down posters for the talk that a speaker is going to give, or in any way interfere with the free speech rights of others.

Student Debt Slavery: Bankrolling Financiers on the Backs of the Young

Higher education has been financialized, transformed from a public service into a lucrative cash cow for private investors.

The advantages of slavery by debt over “chattel” slavery – ownership of humans as a property right – were set out in an infamous document called the Hazard Circular, reportedly circulated by British banking interests among their American banking counterparts during the American Civil War. It read in part:

Slavery is likely to be abolished by the war power and chattel slavery destroyed. This, I and my European friends are glad of, for slavery is but the owning of labor and carries with it the care of the laborers, while the European plan, led by England, is that capital shall control labor by controlling wages.

Bah Humbug: Holiday cheer banned from Minnesota college over 'inclusivity'

The folks in a University of Minnesota department may be getting a lump of coal in their stockings this year for some Holiday guidelines given to students in the name of “inclusivity.”

Becket, a nonprofit law firm that defends religious liberty, awarded the university’s College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences “Respecting Religious Diversity” event as this year’s lowest (dis)honor, the 2017 Ebenezer Award, for the most ridiculous affront to the Christmas and Hanukkah season.

The event deemed Christmas trees, Menorahs, and the colors red and green and silver and blue as “inappropriate” for college campuses during the holiday season.

Baptist Woman Sues Louisiana Public School District over ‘Religious Indoctrination’

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has filed suit against a school district in Louisiana on behalf of a professing Christian mother who is unhappy that teachers, principals and others in the district have promoted Christianity during school hours and at school events.

“Since enrolling two of her daughters in the Webster Parish School District more than 12 years ago, Plaintiff Christy Cole has become increasingly alarmed by the pervasive religious indoctrination to which students in the district are subject,” the suit reads.

One of her daughters has since graduated and the other is still in high school.

“Christy Cole believes her daughter and all students should be able to attend public school without exposure to government-sponsored religious practices and messages, and without harassment for their religious beliefs,” the complaint explains.

The Dumbing Down of America – By Design

The most obvious example of how Americans have been dumbed down is through this nation’s failed public education system. At one time not that long ago America reigned supreme as a leading model for the rest of the world providing the best quality free public K-12 education system on the planet. But over the last many decades while much of the rest of the world has been passing us by, it seems an insidious federal agenda has been implemented to condition and brainwash a population of mindless, robotic citizenry that simply does what it’s told, and of course the brainwashing commences early in America’s schools.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I do marketing for a living; and it is frightening to listen to people who may well have a high school education, and diploma, but appear to have learned nothing from it, during the time they were in school.

I was very lucky to have come from a very ordinary middle class background, but the importance of language, critical thinking, and education, were very strongly impressed upon me.

Parents today need to embrace those values, because it is not just the schools which have the responsibility to teach our young; it is definitely the parents as well.

My brother and sister-in-law were very smart about how they raised their two girls; there was a lot of focus on homework, and accomplishing their tasks. And when my sister-in-law went back for her Masters in nursing, all three would gather around the dining room table to study.

Both young women now have excellent careers, and are very accomplished sweet, whole, self-realized adults.

Primary Schools Told to ‘Celebrate’ Transgender People, Block Complaints Which ‘Interfere’ With LGBT Agenda

Primary schools should stock books and learning resources which “celebrate” transgender people, according to new Government-backed guidelines aimed at fighting prejudice.
Guidance released Wednesday by the National Association of Head Teachers (NAHT) — which represents nearly 30,000 school leaders, most of whom are primary heads — instructs schools to “ensure the visibility” of transgender perspectives in the classroom.

The document was specifically drawn up to advise schools on how best to make transgender staff, “students”, and pupils with transgender parents “feel positively represented in lesson content and welcomed in the school environment”.

“Primary school leaders may want to ensure books featuring trans parents or celebrating gender identity and difference are included in the curriculum,” states the guidance, which is expected to be rolled out at primaries across the UK.

Criticism after Danish school cancels Christmas to avoid ‘preaching’ to non-Christian children

Parents of local children, education officials and leading Danish politicians have criticized a primary school after it chose to cancel the traditional Christmas service, due to the presence of students of immigrant backgrounds.

"We took the decision because we have children who are not Protestant,” Marianne Vederso Schmidt, the head of Gribskolen in Graested, a town of fewer than 5,000 people in eastern Denmark, wrote in an intranet posting earlier this month.

Schmidt noted that the decision may have been overdue, as the education law forbids preaching “and it must be left to the individual families whether they want to privately attend a service.”

House Republicans have a little-known plan to raise taxes on teachers by $2 billion

All in, Richardson estimates she spent $500 of her own money on her students last year. She says it's worth it — her voice lights up talking about “her kids” and all their “aha moments,” many of which come when she deviates from the textbook.

But what has also been helpful is that she's able to deduct $250 off her taxable income for the extras she buys for her classroom, a small help that Congress created in 2002 for teachers who “go above and beyond.”

Now, the educator expense deduction has become a sticking point in the GOP tax debate, with the House and Senate taking it in two wildly different directions.

The House GOP tax bill would scrap that educator deduction entirely.

California Is Being Sued Because So Few Of Their Public School Children Can Read

At one elementary school in California, 96 percent of the students are not proficient in either English or math. How is that even possible? Unfortunately, the more the federal government gets involved in education, the worse it seems to get. At one time the United States had the greatest system of public education on the entire planet, but these days we only seem to make headlines when news comes out about how poorly we are doing. This has been a hot button issue for me for a long time, but even I was surprised when I learned that the state of California is actually being sued because so few of their public school children can read.

Trust in media grows under Trump, amid partisan split: survey

Good example of Faux news.

Washington (AFP) - Americans' overall trust in the news media has increased since the election of Donald Trump despite a rise in those who believe the president's claims of "fake news," a survey showed Monday.
The survey prepared for the Poynter Institute found a sharp partisan divide on the media, with Republicans and Trump supporters skeptical about news organizations and others more confident.
