Western security services were warned Stockholm terrorist was an ISIS fanatic BEFORE he ploughed a truck into shoppers killing four people, Uzbekistan says

Western security services were told the man who drove a truck into shoppers in Stockholm was an ISIS fanatic before he carried out his attack, Uzbek authorities say.

Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov said on Friday that 'one of our Western partners' had been informed of 39-year-old Rakhmat Akilov's 'criminal activities'.

Mr Kamilov went on to say that Akilov used online messaging services to encourage people to travel to Syria and join the terror group. He did not say which nation had been informed, or precisely when.

‘Dream of generations’: Poland officially welcomes US contingent of NATO’s Russia-deterrent force

Poland has officially welcomed the US soldiers who will form the backbone of NATO’s multinational battalion in the country as part of the bloc's enhanced strategy to contain Russia. President Duda said it is something Poles have "dreamt of for generations.”

The American contingent of 900 troops, who arrived in Poland in March, will serve side by side on a rotational basis with 150 British and 120 Romanians soldiers in Orzysz.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is delusional thinking, writ large, and thoroughly enabled by the US and NATO.

Why in the name of heaven would Putin want to invade Poland?!?

The short answer is, he wouldn't.

But it appears that NATO is pre-positioning troops and materials on, or close to, the Russian border, and there has to be an allegedly logical reason for this.

And their allegedly logical, ultimate reason for this is, a NATO war against Russia.

Yes, NATO, and the US government have gone utterly frothing-at-the-mouth, barking dog mad on this delusion, but that is why you are seeing this this huge expenditure in human and technical capital literally surrounding Russia at this time.

Molotov Cocktails Thrown at Swedish Police During Second Night of Rioting

Several police officers in the Swedish city of Gothenburg were attacked with Molotov cocktails by “young men” in the second night of rioting in the “no-go” Hammarkullen area.

Police say the rioting originally started on Saturday evening when they were attacked by several “youths” who threw rocks at them. The officers decided to increase their presence the following day but were attacked once again in the evening by more young men, this time armed with Molotov cocktails, Göteborgs-Posten reports.

At 9:53 pm on Sunday evening, police were called to the area after receiving a call about a car being on fire in a local garage. As soon as the officers arrived, they were attacked by young men who threw a Molotov cocktail at them.

Police spokesman Thomas Fuxborg stressed the danger of the attack saying: “Of course it is highly dangerous as uniforms or anything else could ignite.”

MAJOR SWEDISH NEWSPAPER CALLS FOR BAN ON CARS TO FIGHT TERRORISM

One of Sweden’s biggest newspapers has called for new regulations on motor vehicles in Stockholm after Friday’s massacre involving a terrorist who stole a delivery truck and drove it over the bodies of innocent victims on the city’s busy sidewalks.

While there have been many morbid jokes about the need to “ban assault trucks” as jihadists have chosen vehicular people-slaughter as their favored method for mass murder, Eva Franchell of Aftonbladet has penned an article that brings the meme to life, and highlights the depths to which the socialist-globalist Swedish establishment are willing to force their society in dhimmitude to the Islamic invasion.

“Cars have turned into deadly weapons. They have been easy to steal and then nothing has been able to stop their advance,” she writes in Swedish. “In Nice, Berlin, Jerusalem, London and Stockholm they have been used as effective murder machines for terrorists who wanted to kill many people.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

This would be an absolutely hysterical viewpoint, if the events which generated by this incident didn't involve terrorism and death.

So Ms. Franchell, a word, please; it is not the vehicles creating these assassinations; it is the people who hate Europeans and their faith with a passion, driving over your country's people and killing and wounding them outright who are creating these assassinations!!

BREAKING: DONALD TRUMP APPROVES NATO MEMBERSHIP FOR MONTENEGRO

Donald Trump has just approved Montenegro as NATO’s newest member state. The move is contentious as Montenegro was bombed in the illegal 1999 NATO war of aggression against Yugoslavia of which it was then a part.

Montenegro peacefully split from Serbia in 2006 to become a small independent state.

While the Montenegrin government has supported moves to join the US led alliance, socialist and pro-Serbia opposition parties have been dramatically opposed to such moves. The moves also roused public opinion during a series of anti-NATO protests in the small west Balkan state.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Let's look at a map, and see what NATO gets as its "bang" for the proverbial "buck"

Map: Montenegro and surrounding countries

What this gives NATO is another foothold on the shore of the Adriatic Sea, from which to project naval power.

NATO "acquisition" of this country also moves it further from the Russia sphere of influence, which was the ultimate justification for offering it NATO membership.

G7 has no consensus on sanctions against Russia over Syria

G7 has not come to a consensus on using sanctions against Russia as an instrument for achievement of goals, Italy’s Foreign Minister Angelino Alfano told a press conference on Tuesday after the meeting of G7 Foreign Ministers.

He admitted that there are other approaches as well, for example the one proposed by the UK.

"But we came to conclusion that we should not force Russia into corner," the minister added.

Spanish Gunship Enters British Waters Off Gibraltar

A Spanish gunship has illegally entered British waters off the coast of Gibraltar, which could lead to a war over the strategic Mediterranean territory.

Cyborgs at work: employees getting implanted with microchips

The syringe slides in between the thumb and index finger. Then, with a click, a microchip is injected in the employee's hand. Another "cyborg" is created.

What could pass for a dystopian vision of the workplace is almost routine at the Swedish startup hub Epicenter. The company offers to implant its workers and startup members with microchips the size of grains of rice that function as swipe cards: to open doors, operate printers, or buy smoothies with a wave of the hand.

The injections have become so popular that workers at Epicenter hold parties for those willing to get implanted.

Denmark Proves We Don't Need the FCC

The Danish reputation got a boost among the American left in last year's presidential election, when none other than Bernie Sanders himself plugged the country as a model for the United States to emulate. But admirers of the popular democratic socialist politician may be surprised to learn exactly how Denmark was able to become an international leader in ICT delivery. It wasn't super-charged regulation, top-down "net neutrality" rules, or major government subsidies that did the trick.

So how did Denmark do it? Deregulation. By virtually eliminating their equivalent of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), Danes now enjoy some of the best ICT service on the planet.

REVEALED: Britain’s top secret plan to BLOW UP Channel Tunnel to prevent invasion

BRITAIN planned to plant a nuclear bomb inside the Channel Tunnel to blow up the transport link in a desperate bid to severe ties with Europe.

Previously top secret papers have revealed that officials once plotted the collapse of the tunnel between the UK and France in the event of an emergency.

The once-secret plot was drawn up by civil servants and senior military officials in March 1969, while plans for the tunnel were still being drawn out, and were devised in case of a Soviet invasion.

‘BE PREPARED’ ECB fires grave warning to Europe's most debt-ridden countries

EUROPE'S debt-laden countries have been warned to prepare for higher borrowing costs and an end to ultra accommodative monetary policies that have helped prop up economies in the aftermath of the financial crisis.

In a stark alert, a top policymaker from the European Central Bank (ECB) told governments and other players to expect interest rates to start rising from negative levels.

ECB executive board member Benoit Coeure told an audience in Paris: "It's obvious that the financial sector, and other economic actors and especially governments must prepare (for higher interest rates).

"I hope that eurozone governments know that interest rates will not stay at current levels."

Greece, Spain, Italy and Portugal are among the countries that are burdened with heavy debts after being bailed out at the height of the financial crisis.

What are the Odds of Britain Going to War with Spain?

After several hundred years of complaining about the UK ownership of Gibraltar, Spain is looking set to make a final play for the territory. RUSSIA WINS ENERGY WAR IN EUROPE AFTER EU SURRENDERS ON NORD STREAM 2

Confirmation that the EU Commission has dropped its opposition to Nord Stream 2 – the giant gas pipeline Russia is building through the Baltic to supply natural gas directly to Germany – effectively ends whatever doubts previously existed about the project.

More importantly, it also means Russia has won the energy war, which has been raging around the issue of Russian gas supplies to Europe over the last decade and a half.

Nord Stream 2 is the second undersea gas pipeline directly linking Russia to Germany. It comes after Nord Stream 1, which was laid down in the late 2000s and completed in 2011, coming on stream in 2012.

The story of the export by Russia of gas to Europe is extraordinarily tangled and is scarcely ever discussed properly. This is unfortunate because in my opinion it is the single most important reason for the collapse in relations between Russia and the West since Putin came to power in 1999.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is a huge win for Russia and its oil industry.

Italy Is About To Fall

As the chickens come home to roost in Europe, the failed pieces of a doomed experiment are about to crumble into fragments that will never be reparable. Following Brexit and a rise in what our ever-so trustworthy media calls “right-wing nationalism”, the clouds of doom seem far from dissipating over Europe just yet. The next to go in a string of wobbling dominoes may be Italy—but not of its own volition.

The Beneficiaries of Conflict With Russia

One intriguing aspect of this slanted account are the phrases “dominated by Russian forces for decades” and “vital deterrent” which are used by NBC to imply that Russia yearns, for some unspecified reason, to invade Poland. As is common in the Western media there is no justification or evidence to substantiate the suggestion that Russia is hell-bent on domination, and the fact that US troops are far from home, operating along the Russian border, is regarded as normal behaviour on the part of the world’s “indispensable nation.”

Greece crisis bites as £3.4BN pulled from banks and manufacturing output WORST in eurozone

GREEKS are tightening their belts spending less and less in supermarkets as billions disappears from their bank accounts.

Capital outflows have shot up to £3.4billion (€4bn) since the start of the year while "impoverished" members of the public cut back on spending.

New figures out from the Marketing Laboratory of the Athens University of Economics and Business show half of Greeks are only buying the "absolute necessities".

They say consumers are spending almost £34 (€40) less a month at supermarkets as they try to tighten their belts amid the country's debt crisis.

And that reduction in spending is having an impact on supermarket turnover signalling a 13 percent decline.

The average monthly household expenditure is £234 (€274) compared to £265 (€310) a year earlier, it has been revealed.

Credit Suisse is once again under international investigation for allegedly helping its clients evade the prying eyes of national tax authorities. Is Post-Cold War NATO Heading Towards A Third World War? NATO and Western Militarism in a Multipolar World

The post-Cold War world order was expected to be peacefully unipolar. However, the quarter century since has seen the continuation of war – with the Gulf war, Western intervention in the former Yugoslavia, wars in Afghanistan and Iraq and more recently in Libya, Mali, Ukraine, Yemen and Syria – and witnessed a progressive and ongoing shift toward multipolarity as the world’s economic centre of gravity shifts away from the US and the West. The effects of this shift portend further shifts in the established world order and its seemingly stable alliances and increasing the danger of war.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I would very much like to give this event a shout-out, and encourage all who can to attend; we are on the brink of absolute catastrophe, if NATO goes to war against Russia, and the West may well not win such a war.

Growing Divisions, War Threats Loom Over EU Summit in Rome

In the event, the communiqué that was adopted epitomized the EU’s response to Brexit: the EU is trying to survive as a coalition of nationalist, anti-immigrant regimes held together by aspirations to become an aggressive military bloc rivaling the United States.

On military policy, it called for a “stronger Europe,” “creating a more competitive and integrated defence industry” and “strengthening [the EU’s] common security and defence.” It also called for continuing EU anti-immigrant policies—which have seen thousands drown in the Mediterranean, as millions flee imperialist wars in Africa and the Middle East—so that EU “external borders are secured, with an efficient, responsible and sustainable migration policy.”

‘EU is particularly good at doing a terrible job’ – Yanis Varoufakis

Former Greek Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis has described the measures taken by the EU to settle the economic crisis in Greece as a “terrible job.” The comment comes as Greece agrees to new reforms that are set to help the country qualify for cheaper loans.

“Isn’t it yet another piece of evidence that the European Union is particularly good at doing a terrible job, but handling what should be a very manageable crisis,” Varoufakis told CNN on Tuesday.

He noted that, in fact, the goals set for Athens are nearly impossible to reach. “The people at the IMF [International Monetary Fund]… told us that the Greek debt is unsustainable and the austerity that is being [imposed] upon Greece is catastrophic for the program itself.”

The ECB’s Illusory Independence

A commitment to the independence of central banks is a vital part of the creed that “serious” policymakers are expected to uphold (privatization, labor-market “flexibility,” and so on). But what are central banks meant to be independent of? The answer seems obvious: governments.

In this sense, the European Central Bank is the quintessentially independent central bank: No single government stands behind it, and it is expressly prohibited from standing behind any of the national governments whose central bank it is. And yet the ECB is the least independent central bank in the developed world.
