NATO to Stay in Baltic Region, Eastern Europe 'As Long As Necessary'

NATO will maintain increased presence in the Baltic states and Eastern Europe "as long as necessary," the organization is prepared to protect all of its allies, Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg told Canadian CBC broadcaster on Sunday.

"It's not possible… to give you exact date for that [staying in Eastern Europe]. We will stay there as long as necessary," Stoltenberg said, when asked how long NATO would keep up increased presence in the Baltic states and Ukraine.

Meanwhile In Sweden, Crime Hits All Time Highs

It appears President Trump, having warned that Sweden's huge intake of refugees would lead to "problems like they never thought possible," has been vindicated.

And now nine months later, Trump's worst fears - and the lies of Swedish authorities - have been confirmed.

Bloomberg reports that the number of Swedes who were victims of crimes such as fraud and sexual offenses jumped to the highest level on record last year.

A survey by the Swedish National Council for Crime Prevention showed that 15.6 percent of people suffered one or more offences against the person (defined in the survey as assault, threats, sexual offences, robbery, fraud or harassment) last year. That’s up from 13.3 percent in 2015 and the highest number recorded since the annual Swedish Crime Survey started in 2006.

NATO is headed for a very messy break-up

IF YOU’RE AN American citizen, cancel plans for that vacation in Turkey. Don’t invite your Turkish friends to the United States, either. Recently Turkey and the United States stopped issuing visas to each other’s citizens. This is more than just another travel ban. It is a geopolitical spectacle unique in modern history: two allied countries blocking normal back-and-forth travel. An old relationship has gone deeply sour.

STARVED, ‘MUTILATED’ AND BLACKMAILED, MIGRANTS AUCTIONED OFF AS SLAVES, BY SMUGGLERS IN LIBYA

From becoming one of the major points in Africa from which migrants can attempt to cross over into Europe, Libya is now turning into a slave trade city thanks to the heavy flow of desperate people from other parts of the continent. A new investigation has revealed people are being sold as modern-day slaves for as little as £300 ($400).
According to CNN which exposed the racket, slave sales are conducted on the outskirts of the nation’s capital, Tripoli, where auctions take place for various types of manual labourers. In one case, a video was made available, which shows the sale of “big strong boys for farm work”.
An undercover operation revealed similar auctions where around a dozen people were sold in a matter of five to six minutes. “Does anybody need a digger? This is a digger, a big, strong man, he’ll dig,” an auctioneer calls out in one clip. “What am I bid, what am I bid?”

Webmaster's Commentary:

That a new slave trade would result from the wake of his assassination?!?

NATO Adds to Turkey’s Chagrin. Turkish Good-Bye to NATO?

There has long been speculation about a Turkish good-bye to NATO.

The U.S. and its military proxy organization in Europe are doing their best to further such a move:

The image of Atatürk was displayed as a target during the drill at NATO’s Joint Warfare Center in Stavanger, Norway held between Nov. 8 and Nov. 17, while a NATO soldier posted defamatory words about Erdo?an on the social media.

Atatürk is the founder of the secular Turkey. He was designated as “target” during a desk-top drill. NATO’s Joint Warfare Center is not a low level school but an elite officer training institution led by a Major-General. The 40 Turkish soldiers who attended the training course were immediately ordered back home.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Turkey now appears, both economically, and militarily, to be moving toward a more Russian/Chinese orbit, and NATO has no one but itself to blame for this.

Western MSM ‘shocked’ at 60,000-strong nationalist march in Warsaw – but are they really?

The mainstream media coverage of the annual nationalist march in Poland was far more critical this year than on previous occasions. Considering how similar events were previously covered, analysts wonder if the change results from Brussels’s feud with Warsaw.

Something terrible happened last Saturday in Poland. A crowd of 60,000 neo-Nazis, fascists, white supremacists, far-right nationalists, anti-Semites and religious fanatics marched in the streets of the capital Warsaw in the biggest display of bigotry and hatred the world has seen in years. And like-minded radicals from all around Europe sent their delegations to the rally. And the Polish government not only failed to condemn this march of the right, but dared to call the event “beautiful.” The terror!

Let’s Stop Glorifying War

When’s the last time our media covered war honestly? When’s the last time you saw combat footage of American troops under fire, or of American troops killing others in the name of keeping us safe from enemies? When was the last time you saw an American soldier panicking, firing wildly, perhaps killing members of his own unit (fratricide) or innocent civilians caught in the crossfire of war? Maybe in the 1960s during coverage of the Vietnam War?

War is not glorious. It may feature noble deeds and remarkable sacrifices, but it also features brutality and many other bloody realities. War breaks men (and women) down. It does so because war is unnatural. Yes, war is many things, but it most certainly is about killing. Occasionally, the killing is even necessary. (Just ask those enslaved by the Nazis or the Japanese whether they greeted Allied troops as liberators.)

SWEDEN RULES OUT MAPPING RAPISTS’ ETHNICITY

Amid a hot national debate, Swedish Justice Minister Morgan Johansson has firmly ruled out the much-debated idea of publishing statistics on the nationality of sex offenders. He argued against “blaming it on immigrants,” when perpetrators “in fact” were men. Following the publication of a private report suggesting immigrants’ overrepresentation in rape cases, Sweden’s Conservative Party presented the Crime Prevention Council (Brå) with a proposal to map out the ethnicity of rapists in a comprehensive survey in order to shed more light on this sensitive issue. The last time a similar investigation was made in 2005. “We want a new comprehensive mapping of sexual offenses. Who is the perpetrator and who is the victim? It’s important to be able to draw conclusions on preventive work,” Conservative spokesman Tomas Tobé said, as quoted by Swedish national broadcaster SVT. According to Tobé, the mapping should specifically include the rapist’s background and ethnicity.

EU PARLIAMENT MAY IMPOSE ANTI-POLISH SANCTIONS

The EU parliament has adopted a resolution that provides for the launch of a mechanism for the application of sanctions by the European Union against Poland. According to the statement, members of the European Parliament believe that the situation in Poland represents a “clear risk of a serious breach” of European values, including the rule of law, enshrined in the EU Treaty. While Article 7.1 of the Treaty on the European Union stipulates the possibility of triggering the preventive mechanism if the majority of four fifths of the European Council members determine that there is a violation of common values, the parliament has decided by 438 votes to 152 with 71 abstentions to prepare a formal request that the Council activate it. According to the EU parliament’s press release, if the risk still persists and the Polish authorities refuse to comply with the EU’s recommendations, the procedure might even lead to the suspension of Poland’s voting rights within the Council.

EU CREATES NEW DEFENSE PACT TO REDUCE DEPENDENCE ON US

The EU on Nov.13 officially launched a new era in defense cooperation with a program of joint military investment in equipment, research and development, known as permanent structured cooperation, or PESCO. Foreign and defense ministers gathered at a signing ceremony in Brussels to represent 23 EU governments joining the pact, which is to become legally binding when signed by heads of state at EU summit in mid-December. With so many ministers signing, approval seems a given. From now on, the EU will have a more coherent role in tackling international crises, while reducing the reliance on the United States. The UK, which is scheduled to leave the EU in 2019, is not part of PESCO. Until Brexit, London had opposed the idea of European Defense Union or European Army, saying it would undermine NATO and the UK alliance with the US. Denmark, which has a special opt-out status, is not expected to participate. Ireland, Portugal and Malta are still undecided whether or not to join.
