239 KILLED BY TERRORISTS IN FRANCE IN 2 YEARS

Today’s victims brought to at least 239 the official total number of people killed in France by jihadists since 2015. (This figure doesn’t include a large number of other attacks where the police claimed the perpetrators were psychologically disturbed and therefore could not be sure the attacks were Islamicly motivated even though the perpetrators on many occasions shouted “Allahu Akbar” as they carried them out.)

A state of emergency continues in France. Over 7,000 troops are still guarding transport hubs, tourist sites and prominent churches and synagogues.

These are wartime figures.

Speaking to TF1 and LCI in his first live TV interview since taking office, the French president said he had told Trump not to scrap the Iran deal.

Macron said Trump “wants to get tougher with Iran. I told him I thought this was the wrong approach because we have to look at where we are now with North Korea.”

The hopelessly corrupt structure of the Eurozone & the Eurogroup

Follow the money. The Eurogroup rules the Eurozone and its 19 member states. The first rule of Eurogroup is: ‘You don’t talk about Eurogroup!’

Part of the problem of criticizing the “pan-European project” is that you have multiple bodies which overlap. And you also have some nations which are part of one, but not another. Or which pay into one body, but abstain from another.

A clear analysis is needed of the most important part of the pan-European project: the Eurozone. The Eurozone is the most important because it controls the money in the world’s largest macro-economy.

How does France's 'Northern Catalonia' feel about independence?

The French region of Pyrenees-Orientales -- known to some as "Northern Catalonia" -- is keeping an anxious eye on the crisis just across the border.
Taken over by France in the 17th century, many in this region nestled between the Pyrenees mountains and the Mediterranean retain close cultural links with Catalonia to the south.

"They have family ties, they go there on weekends," said Jean-Luc Pujol, co-founder of the political party Yes To A Catalan Country, which pushes for greater autonomy in the French region.

Journalist Gearoid O Colmain told Russia Today that the two deceased suspects, French-born Said and Cherif Kouachi, had received military training from militants in Syria and had also traveled to Yemen to meet with al-Qaeda leaders there. And yet the pair was able to return to France without interference from authorities. Other reports indicate that the brothers were known and being monitored by French intelligence, but were still able to obtain the necessary armaments to conduct Wednesday’s attack without a hiccup.

How to Bring Down the Elephant in the Room

First, a painful, but needed, clarification:

Basement crazies. Neocons. Zionists. Israel Lobbyists. Judaics. Jews. Somewhere along this list we bump into the proverbial “elephant in the room”. For some this bumping will happen earlier in the list, for others a little later down the list, but the list will be more or less the same for everybody. Proper etiquette, atleast in the West, would want to make us run away from this topic. I won’t. Why? Well, for one thing I am constantly accused of not discussing this elephant. Furthermore, I am afraid that the role this elephant is playing is particularly toxic right now. So let me try to deal with this beast, but first I have to begin with some caveats.

Tillerson State Dept. Demanding Israel Hand Back Millions in U.S. Military Aid

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has been pushing the Trump White House to demand that Israel give back to the United States millions of dollars in military aid, prompting pushback in the West Wing and further fueling ongoing tensions between Foggy Bottom and the White House over a range of key diplomatic issues, according to multiple sources briefed on the situation.

The Washington Free Beacon first reported on Friday that the State Department has been lobbying the White House to call for Israel to hand back some $75 million in U.S. military aid that was awarded to the Jewish state above the Obama administration’s financial request in 2016.

The Bombast of Nikki Haley

She’s a lightweight, and a warmongering globalist.

As Governor of South Carolina, and a member of that state’s House of Representatives, Haley’s foreign policy experience is absolutely nil. Nor does her degree in accounting from Clemson University inspire confidence. Her record thus far has consisted of giving voice to the neoconservative tendency in the GOP – the very people Trump defeated in the GOP primaries. Her recent speech before the American Enterprise Institute on the nuclear deal with Iran is a perfect case in point.

We don’t need a war with Iran because Israel wants one and some rich and powerful American Jews are happy to deliver. Seriously, we don’t need it.

And while they are doing it, the issue that nearly all the Iran haters are Jewish has somehow fallen out of sight, as if it does not matter. But it should matter.

Listening to the Donald at the UN – The Saker

No matter how bad things look now, Hillary President would have been infinitely worse!

In conclusion, what I take away from Trump's UN speech is a sense of relief for the rest of the planet and a sense of real worry for the US. Ever since the Neocons overthrew Trump and made him what is colloquially referred to as their “bitch” the US foreign policy has come to a virtual standstill.

Sure, the Americans talk a lot, but at least they are doing nothing. That paralysis, which is a direct consequence of the internal infighting, is a blessing for the rest of the planet

How the UN Covers for US Aggression

UN is not out to get the U.S. Rather, it has largely been America’s tool since its inception, it has repeatedly covered Uncle Sam’s overly-exposed butt as he (a.k.a. “the royal we”) has gone around the world on a three decade-long military bender since the end of the Cold War.

And therein lies the truly pernicious part of the Trumped-up case against the U.N. … because, like so much of America’s growing cult of grievance, it reflects an ever-widening gap between America’s stated ideals and its self-serving behavior around the world.

Removing Offensive Monuments

The eyesore presidential libraries

The social justice warrior charge to purge the United States of all monuments relating in any way to the Confederacy has been rapidly expanding to include the scourge represented by all white people all through history.

Now, I would suggest that turnabout is fair play so if we are all agreeing that monuments must be destroyed to right historic wrongs, I am interested in making up my own little list based on the things that I disapprove of. As readers of this site are aware, I am a critic of illegal behavior by the United States government, to include torture, targeted assassinations by drone and starting wars without any reason to do so, so that would be a good place to start.

France shocked at iPhone X costing exactly French minimum wage

After Apple unveiled its shiny new iPhone X to the world, French media noted with wonder and consternation that the hi-tech gadget cost almost exactly the same as a worker on France’s minimum wage earns for a month’s labour.
"Is the iPhone X worth a SMIC?" asked a headline in Le Parisien newspaper, using the French abbreviation for the monthly minimum wage that is legally fixed at €1,149 after tax.

The cheapest version of the iPhone X, unveiled on Tuesday at Apple’s new "spaceship" headquarters in California, will be sold in France from November 3 priced at €1,159.

The newspaper marvelled at the new product’s technology, but rather snootily noted that buying it for that price was like buying a Porsche for a short commute to work when a low-cost Dacia car would do the job just as well.

Tens of thousands take to the streets to protest Macron's labour reforms

The first day of major demonstrations against French President Emmanuel Macron's changes to France's enshrined labour code saw tens of thousands of protesters take to the streets on Tuesday.

In a day of nationwide strikes and rallies that was seen as an important test for Macron - who has staked his presidency on overhauling France's sluggish economy - France's biggest trade union, the hardline CGT, was keen to show it could mobilise its supporters in large numbers.

On Tuesday evening the union reported that some 60,000 protesters had turned out in Paris, while the police put the figure at a more modest 24,000.

The numbers are being closely observed as they are considered an important indicator of the strength of resistance to the reforms.

Emmanuel Macron's Africa refugee plan condemned as 'racist and inhumane'

European Parliament’s Rapporteur on the Commission’s Union Resettlement Framework, Left MEP Malin Björk, said the plan was “tainted by structural racism towards the African population”.

“Europe has no right to criminalise mobility or movement - especially not in third countries,” the Swedish MEP said.

“Irregular migration is not a crime - by calling it a crime is akin to calling these people criminals. The most worrying aspect of this plan is that it is coupled with stopping spontaneous arrivals at European territory completely. This breaches the international right to leave one's country and to seek asylum.

“Furthermore, using resettlement as the framework within which EU externalises its borders is to destroy over five decades of humanitarian work and international solidarity. In terms of increased loss of human lives and suffering, the consequences of this plan will be disastrous.”

Nezavisimaya Gazeta: French disappointed in Macron

French President Emmanuel Macron's ratings are declining, with his performance approved by just 36% of the population, Nezavisimaya Gazeta writes citing the results of a survey conducted by the Ifop research center. Macron’s popularity rating reached a new low, having fallen by almost 20 points compared to July when his performance was approved by 54% of Frenchmen. According to local media, even Francois Hollande, one of the most unpopular French leaders, did not encounter such public discontent during the first 100 days of his presidency. Many tend to link Macron’s growing unpopularity to his reforms, particularly, with the liberal economic agenda and plans to reduce the country’s budget deficit. Macron’s decision to implement the most painful reforms at the beginning of his five-year presidential term looks quite logical, Sergey Fyodorov, Leading Research Fellow at the Russian Academy of Sciences’ Institute for European Studies, told the paper.

US Sanctions — a Looney Tunes Bad Remake

By F. William Engdahl
5 Aug 2017

The ever-so-wise members of the Congress of the United States have just passed one of the most bizarre pieces of legislation in US history. Unilaterally, it makes illegal and severely punishable investments by European companies in international energy projects where Russia is involved. But it does far more. Unlike earlier US sanctions acts, the EU countries were not even consulted on the new act. It may well be that the bill, HR-3364: Countering Americas Adversaries Through Sanctions Act (sic) and its Senate counterpart will mark the irreversible decline of the United States as a global power and forge new ties between Russia, China, Iran and, yes, the major states of the EU including Germany .

Air France expands North Korea no-fly zone after missile miss

Air France-KLM (AIRF.PA) has expanded its no-fly zone over North Korea after one of its jets flew past the location where an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) splashed down 10 minutes later, an airline spokesman said on Thursday.

Air France's flight 293, a Boeing (BA.N) 777 carrying 323 people from Tokyo to Paris, missed North Korea's latest ICBM as it fell to earth on July 28 by about 100 km (60 miles), the spokesman said, citing flight data provided by Japan.

Air France-KLM flies direct to Tokyo and Osaka and the expansion of the no-fly zone could make the flights 10 minutes to 30 minutes longer, depending on the direction, the spokesman said.

North Korea said on Saturday its latest ICBM test proved its ability to strike America's mainland, drawing a sharp warning from U.S. President Donald Trump and a rebuke from China.

When most people consider how many migrants have entered Europe in recent years, they probably assume that the whole continent is a beacon of tolerance and love for foreigners who are seeking a better way of life. But a more accurate picture of Europe would suggest that the only thing most Europeans are tolerant of, is their corrupt governments who aren’t willing to close the borders. That tolerance is quickly wearing thin however, as most Westerners reject the migrants, who are burdening the social fabric of their communities.

Which would explain a recent incident in the French town of Séméac, where the government recently bought a hotel in the hopes of turning it into a migrant shelter.

LEADERS OF LIBYA’S STRONGEST FACTIONS SIGN ACCORD IN PARIS

The French President Emmanual Macron has hosted the two most influential leaders in Libya in what is being called an attempt to re-unite the totally fractured failed state that has plagued Libyan politics since 2011 when the revolutionary leader Muammar Gaddafi was overthrown during a NATO invasion.

In reality, Macron is engaging in a big face-saving exercise on two fronts. Although the NATO war on Libya was largely authored and agitated for by Hillary Clinton, because of Barack Obama’s apparent reticence to associate himself with the kind of aggressive western war against a Muslim majority country that many at the time still associated with George W. Bush, French President Nicholas Sarkozy became the public cheerleader for the disastrous war, complete with a premature ‘Mission Accomplished’ moment in Tripoli along with then British Prime Minister David Cameron.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Fingers crossed, that this can create some degree of stability in Libya, after the absolute fiasco of the Clinton-inspired NATO invasion, which saw to it the Ghaddafi got assassinated.

“Greater Israel” in the Making? Israel to Control Mediterranean From Beirut to Gaza?

FALSEHOOD IN WAR-TIME: Propaganda Lies of the First World War by Arthur Ponsonby MP, 1928

"The use of the weapon of falsehood is more necessary in a country where military conscription is not the law of the land than in countries where the manhood of the nation is automatically drafted into the Army, Navy, or Air Service. The public can be worked up emotionally by sham ideals. A sort of collective hysteria spreads and rises until finally it gets the better of sober people and reputable newspapers".
