Media Pushing the Idea That Fukushima Radiation Is Just Fine So Go Swim in It for Six Hours a Day

The mainstream media and their experts are finally openly admitting that radiation from the crippled nuclear reactor at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, the initial meltdown of which was equivalent to 168 of the atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima during World War II, has reached North American shoes, but don't worry...

Mystery 'Blob' Discovered by UW Scientists

SEATTLE — Ever since tropical fish started appearing in waters near Seattle, and emaciated seals began washing up on California beaches, the word “odd” has being thrown around the halls of the University of Washington-based Joint Institute for the Study of Atmosphere and Ocean with increasing regularity.

Now, scientists suspect a large, warm mass of water in the Pacific Ocean called the “warm blob” is to blame.

WEBMASTER ADDITION: The only way a warm blob would hold together is if it the plume from an undersea volcano. But you will get the blame for it anyway.

Japan considers evaporation, storage of tritium-laced Fukushima water

Nice. Removes the evaporation part of the evaporation/condensation process spreading Fukushima radiation around the world.

WEBMASTER ADDITION: Tritium is a highly profitable commercial product, used in watch dials, emergency lights, gunsights, and so forth. Tritium sells for about $12,000 a gram! Japan ought to commercialize their considerable holdings by setting up a refining process, and use the revenue from the sale of Tritium to finance further cleanup!

Thorium Remix - Is Thorium a Safe and Extraordinarily Alternative to Traditional Nuclear Power?

Thorium is readily available & can be turned into energy without generating transuranic wastes. Thorium’s capacity as nuclear fuel was discovered during WW II, but ignored because it was unsuitable for making bombs. A liquid-fluoride thorium reactor (LFTR) is the optimal approach for harvesting energy from Thorium, and has the potential to solve today’s energy/climate crisis. LFTR is a type of Thorium Molten Salt Reactor (Th-MSR). This video summarizes over 6 hours worth of thorium talks given by Kirk Sorensen and other thorium technologists.

PNAC Project for a New American Century War Plan Map

Remember: when confused, when all other analysis seems to fail to make sense, come back to The Map, the PNAC Project for a New "American" Century. The duplicitous and misleading title of the project establishing Israel's (City of London's) empire that used American post 9/11 (inside job) concocted anti-Muslim enmity, its resources, its military, economic, and political might that will become the dominant political power of the planet long after the United States has been destroyed and left held responsible for the horrors visited on the world via the so-called "war on terror".

TEPCO - No Technology Exists To Stop Fukushima Death

Anyone with a brain could have told you back in 2011 at the time of the Fukushima nuclear triple melt down that Tokyo Electric (Tepco) was lying about the true condition of the Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant No. 1 (“Dai-ichi”). Four years later, Tepco officials have finally admitted that it may not be technologically possible to decommission the plant.

Law changed so nuclear waste dumps can be forced on local communities

Nuclear waste dumps can be imposed on local communities without their support under a new law rushed through in the final hours of parliament.

Under the latest rules, the long search for a place to store Britain’s stockpile of 50 years’ worth of the most radioactive waste from power stations, weapons and medical use can be ended by bypassing local planning.

Tepco: Technology To Decommission Fukushima Needs To Be Invented

Richard Wilcox, PhD
Activist Post

Anyone with a brain could have told you back in 2011 at the time of the Fukushima nuclear triple meltdown that Tokyo Electric (Tepco) was lying about the true condition of the Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant No. 1 (“Dai-ichi”). Four years later, Tepco officials have finally admitted that it may not be technologically possible to decommission the plant.

In the case of Tepco (Tipkill), the facts are overwhelming that not only was Fukushima an “accident waiting to happen” but rather “a foregone conclusion.” The location of the plant on soft fill soil at a low altitude near the ocean in a tsunami zone was the first big mistake of the planners, who must have graduated from the Homer Simpson school of donutology. Cost-cutting, corruption and incompetence is part of the well-documented history, which ultimately led to the triple meltdowns...

TEPCO under fire after hiding massive radioactive waste leak at Fukushima for a full year

A major bombshell has dropped concerning the failed cleanup efforts at the stricken Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant in Japan. The shuttered plant's operator, the Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO), has apparently been hiding for an entire year the fact that radioactive waste has been quietly pouring into the ocean from an onsite drainage ditch.

Sputnik News reports that TEPCO, which is also managing remediation efforts at the site (with guidance from the Japanese government), concealed from the public the fact that highly contaminated radioactive water has been flowing from the drainage ditch directly into the ocean. Local fishermen and others have since expressed outrage over the news.

Baldwin Beach Maui Littered with Mysterious Debris

Baldwin Beach goers found an unhappy surprise this morning, Thursday, March 26.

“Our usually pristine shoreline was littered with what looked like Japanese tsunami garbage,” said Lauren Hogan, Realtor at Better Homes and Gardens Realty, after her early morning walk.

Among the debris was a Japanese market shopping basket, a plastic car bumper, many bits and pieces of colored plastic, and piles of knotted and twisted colored rope.

“Good Samaritans cleaned the beach for hours before I got there,” Hogan said. “They put the garbage into plastic bags and hauled larger items away in an effort to make their beach clean once again. Much thanks to all of them!”

I hope they had a radiation meter with them!

Expert: Plutonium-241 from Fukushima nearly 70,000 times more than atomic bomb fallout in Japan

Plutonium isotopes 239Pu, 240Pu and 242Pu are anthropogenic radionuclides emitted into the environment by nuclear activities. Pu is accumulated in the human body and hence, poses a considerable hazard to human health. Due to the long half-lives, these isotopes are present in the biosphere on large time scales and a build-up can be expected.

The $6.8 Billion Great Wall Of Japan: Fukushima Cleanup Takes On Epic Proportion

To reduce the 300 tons of newly created radioactive water each day, TEPCO must cut off the flow of groundwater into the nuclear complex. To do that, it plans on building an ice wall that will surround the four reactors. TEPCO plans on building an intricate array of coolant pipes underneath the reactors, freezing the soil into a hardened ice wall that will block the flow of water. The ice wall will stretch one and a half kilometers around the reactors.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I thought the ice wall idea had been abandoned as unworkable, since there is no way to guarantee a solid impermeable barrier will form deep underground.

US Navy sailors disappear as government, doctors bury truth about Fukushima radiation

U.S. Navy sailors exposed to radioactive fallout from the Fukushima nuclear disaster have been falling ill, even as the Defense Department insists that they were not exposed to dangerous levels of radiation. Many of the sailors have now joined in a class action lawsuit against Fukushima operators and builders Tokyo Electric Power Company (Tepco), Toshiba, Hitachi, Ebasco and General Electric.

Even if they wanted to -- which many do not -- the sailors would be unable to sue the Navy. According to a Supreme Court ruling from the 1950s known as the Feres Doctrine, soldiers cannot sue the government for injuries resulting directly from their military service

Radioactive Iodine from Fukushima Found in California Kelp

Kelp off Southern California was contaminated with short-lived radioisotopes a month after Japan’s Fukushima accident, a sign that the spilled radiation reached the state’s urban coastline, according to a new scientific study.

Scientists from California State University, Long Beach tested giant kelp collected in the ocean off Orange County and other locations after the March, 2011 accident, and detected radioactive iodine, which was released from the damaged nuclear reactor.

The largest concentration was about 250-fold higher than levels found in kelp before the accident.

Fisheries ‘shocked’ at silence over water leak at wrecked Fukushima No. 1 plant

Fishermen in Fukushima Prefecture slammed Tokyo Electric Power Co. on Wednesday after it emerged that water containing cesium and other radioactive isotopes has been draining into the Pacific near the Fukushima No. 1 plant and that Tepco did nothing to prevent it despite learning of the leak last May.

“I don’t understand why (Tepco) kept silent even though they knew about it. Fishery operators are absolutely shocked,” Masakazu Yabuki, chief of the Iwaki fisheries cooperative, said at a meeting with Tepco officials.

Fresh leak at Fukushima nuclear plant sees 70-fold radiation spike

Another radioactive water leak in the sea has been detected at the crippled Fukushima nuclear plant, the facility’s operator TEPCO announced. Contamination levels in the gutter reportedly spiked up 70 times over regular readings.

Webmaster's Commentary:

In another story further down, it is reported that remote cameras are showing still-molten corium (the fused remains of the reactor core) flowing out of the ruined reactor into the ground. If a sufficient mass collects together in one spot, spontaneous fission is possible. Worse, when the corium hits the ground water, radioactive geysers will result, blasting radioactivity into the atmosphere.

I still would like to know if STUXNET was in those Siemens controllers on the safety systems that failed to operate correctly during the disaster.

Fukushima radioactive contamination sets off alarm

The operator of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant says it has detected high levels of radioactive substances in a drainage channel on the plant's premises on Sunday. The Tokyo Electric Power Company is investigating the cause.

TEPCO says the plant's alarm system went off around 10 AM. It showed a rise in radioactivity in the channel that leads to a nearby port.
