Cracks in the 'special relationship'? Obama administration hits out at UK for trying to 'constantly accommodate' China after Britain signs up to $50bn Beijing bank

The Obama administration has hit out at Britain for developing closer ties with China after the UK applied to join a new $50billion Asian bank.

Britain wants to become a founding member of a proposed Chinese-led financial institution that analysts say could rival the World Bank.

But in a rare slapdown, the US administration has criticised one of its closest allies for its 'constant accommodation' of China.

Et tu, Britain? United Kingdom to join China in the anti-dollar alliance

Late yesterday, the government of the United Kingdom announced that they would be applying to join the Chinese-led Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank… as a founding member.

This is huge.

Right now, the United States dominates the global financial system.

But after years of endless wars, spying, debt, money printing, bailouts, and insane regulations, the rest of the world has had enough. And they’re looking for an alternative.

China is coming up with an answer.

How Iran and the US intersect in “Syraq”

The self-described “Don’t Do Stupid Stuff” Obama administration, with its rambling foreign policy, is driving the real Masters of the Universe who control the current world system absolutely crazy.

A cliffhanger debate will take place this Wednesday at the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Picture Secretary of State John Kerry, new Pentagon supremo Ashton Carter, and Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Martin Dempsey all testifying in the same room.

The meat of the matter: the House of Cards, sorry, US Congress mulling over what’s the real deal behind the Obama administration’s proposal to use “military force” in Syria, and whether to impose a no-fly zone to protect Syrian “rebels”.

Nigel Farage - I’m taking on the establishment, and they hate me for it’

Pint in one hand, [cigarette] in the other, Nigel Farage is passing withering judgement on the political class. ‘They don’t pass the Farage Test’, he says of Cameron, Clegg and Miliband. The Farage Test? Warming to his theme, his voice rising an octave, he explains. ‘I judge everybody by two simple criteria. Number one: would I employ them? And number two: would I want to have a drink with them? To pass the Farage Test, you only have to pass one of those. There are lots of people I’ve employed over the years who I wouldn’t choose to have a drink with, and there are lots of people who are completely useless but rather nice to have a bit of a jolly with. But this mob don’t pass either.’ Then, after eviscerating Them, calling into question their employability and drinkability, wondering out loud if they’re even ‘proper people’, he lets out what I think we should call the Farage Laugh: a deep and hearty, nicotine-stained guffaw at the world: ‘HA HA HA HA HA HA HA.’

South Yorkshire Police accused of covering up widespread sexual abuse in Sheffield on a scale 'bigger than Rotherham'

South Yorkshire Police has been accused of ignoring hundreds of reports of sexual abuse against young girls in a widespread cover-up deemed 'bigger than Rotherham'.

Tony Brookes, a former police constable with 30 years' service, claims the force knew that girls as young as 12-years-old were being raped and assaulted but chose to ignore it.

It is understood that more than 200 girls were reported to the force as being potential victims of sexual exploitation in Sheffield, mainly between 2007 and 2010.

Mr Brookes, who has now left the force, said he believes the 'size of the exploitation was massive in Sheffield', adding: 'I think bigger than in Rotherham'.

Mass spying on UK citizens ‘essential,’ say MPs in landmark report

A Parliamentary report examining the mass collection of private communications by UK security agencies has defended the practice as “essential.”

The Intelligence and Security Committee (ISC) report, published on Thursday, said only a “tiny” proportion of data collected was ever seen by human eyes.

Intelligence agencies “do not seek to circumvent the law” and must seek the “specific authorization” of a cabinet minister before spying on individuals in the UK, the ISC said.

NATO’s Shadow of Nazi Operation Barbarossa

Russia can perceive, rightly, the continuum of aggression.

NATO’s Operation Atlantic Resolve paced ahead this week with the latest arrival of more US military forces in the Baltic region.

Under the guise of defending eastern Europe from «Russian aggression», more than 100 Abrams tanks and Bradley armoured personnel carriers rolled into Latvia. Last month, a similar motorised display of military support was deployed in Estonia – in the town of Narva – with American flags flown by the US Army’s Second Calvary Regiment just 300 metres from the Russian border.

Official: Thousands of texts, emails and Facebook messages are read every day by Government spies working at GCHQ

Thousands of texts, emails and Facebook messages are read every day by Government spies working at GCHQ, a long-awaited report sparked by the Edward Snowden revelations has revealed.

Agents at the government listening post monitor 'large numbers of items' using 'bulk interception' powers to uncover terror threats, Parliament's Intelligence and Security Committee said.

The committee insisted this did not mean GCHQ was 'collecting or reading everyone's emails'. But it admitted it was 'unavoidable that some innocent communications may have been incidentally collected'.

Six million cold calls every day from just ONE firm: Company that held 90million numbers raided by watchdog after using sophisticated technology to leave messages

The call centre, which is run from Gemini Business Centre in Hove in Hove, East Sussex, (pictured) is said to have bombarded people with offers to consolidate their debts or help them pursue a compensation claim for mis-sold payment protection insurance. The business apparently made between four and six million approaches a day - equivalent to calling every member of the population two to three times a month. The Information Commissioner's Office launched an investigation after it received 'hundreds' of complaints about nuisance calls from multiple numbers linked to the firm. Many complaints came from vulnerable and elderly people 'frightened' by the barrage of calls.

Kiddist Forsythe was born three months after her father Bulic was beaten to death in his flat, which was then torched.

Removing Israel from American politics

It is writing such as this, which illustrates and illuminates the extent of Zionist infiltration in the "Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave," which will drive home to the "American" public what has happened to their "dream, which may eventually stir them to action of some sort to bring it to an end... if anything will!

It is certainly past time to push back against an organization that is brazenly promoting the interests of a foreign government at the expense of the American people.

Shutting Down AIPAC

I would like to concentrate on two issues. First is the nature of the special relationship between Israel and the United States and second is the role of the Israel Lobby and most particularly AIPAC in shaping that relationship.

Nuland’s Mastery of Ukraine Propaganda

So, did Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland mislead Congress or just play a propaganda game, asks Robert Parry.

An early skill learned by Official Washington’s neoconservatives, when they were cutting their teeth inside the U.S. government in the 1980s, was how to frame their arguments in the most propagandistic way, so anyone who dared to disagree with any aspect of the presentation seemed unpatriotic or crazy.

During my years at The Associated Press and Newsweek, I dealt with a number of now prominent neocons who were just starting out and mastering these techniques at the knee of top CIA psychological warfare specialist Walter Raymond Jr., who had been transferred to President Ronald Reagan’s National Security Council staff where Raymond oversaw inter-agency task forces that pushed Reagan’s hard-line agenda in Central America and elsewhere.

Saving World Heritage – the West’s New R2P Pretext

The ideological arsenal of pretexts for US military interventions are depleted, redundant, spent or thoroughly disgraced.

Is the defence of world heritage sites in Iraq the new «responsibility to protect» (R2P) doctrine to justify Western intervention in the geo-strategically important region? The timing coincides with renewed admonitions from the United States and Saudi Arabia for a coalition of ground forces to defeat the Islamic State network in Iraq and Syria – and just when Iraqi and Syrian forces appear to be decisively pushing back the extremists in both countries.

The US and its Western allies have long used the doctrine of «responsibility to protect» or «R2P» as a flimsy pretext for military intervention. They found success with various tropes, including the «War on Terror», the elimination of «weapons of mass destruction», and the Responsibility to Protect» human rights.

Getting Past the Issue of Being Jewish

In the United States we may be approaching a tipping point in the struggle against Zionist racism and Israeli oppression.

The struggle is against racism, discrimination, oppression, occupation and illegal colonization because they are evils no matter who perpetrates them.

Slash-and-Burn to Oblivion - The Technocorporate Empire State Strikes Back

Now-failed states like Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan and Libya are the blueprint for a world order modeled on the principles of a slash-and-burn corporate structure that seeks to eliminate “non-performers” from its vast portfolio. Surplus labor worldwide has been given the pink slip in the form of an order of execution, and condemned to live out its numbered days warehoused in squalor. Israel’s once refined methods of incremental genocide has now evolved into a more efficient method of mass extermination for its one-time cheap labor force, now permanently confined in the world’s largest prison on land coveted for an emerging class of settler-property developers. Whether these “non-performers” reside in the Gaza strip, housed in some US immigration detention center, or “loitering” on some pre-gentrified patch of concrete, the memo from HQ is explicit in its downsizing imperatives worldwide.

The Power of Israel over the United States

There is much idle chatter from liberals, leftists and progressives, claiming that Netanyahu’s ‘brazen intervention’would backfire;

There have been times when history has played tricks with man and…has magnified the features of essentially small persons into a parody of greatness--Rabindranath Tagore(on Benito Mussolini)

How is it that the ruler (Benjamin Netanyahu) of a puny country (Israel) of 8.2 million (6.2 million Jews) with the 37th biggest economy (GDP in current prices) in the world dictates war policy and secures the willing submission of the legislature of the largest economy and most powerful military empire in the world?

What significance does Netanyahu’s speech to the US Congress have, beyond the fact that he uses it as a platform to attack the elected President of the US, to denounce US peace negotiations and to demand that Congress adopt policies designed to precipitate a war with Iran?

Scotland Yard Chief Wants CCTV Cameras in EVERY Home

LONDON, UK — The citizens of the United Kingdom are possibly the most surveilled group of people in the history of the world. Forget the NSA’s ever-expanding reach over every form of communication imaginable. We’re talking cameras… everywhere. The City of London is equipped with thousands of them, so is Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham and well, like I said before, pretty much everywhere. In a nation of 64 million residents, there is one CCTV camera for every 11 people in the UK.

The British Security Industry Authority (BSIA) estimates there are up to 5.9 million closed-circuit television cameras scattered throughout the UK, including 750,000 in “sensitive locations” such as schools, hospitals and care homes. This statistic was released in 2013 as well. Do you think they decided to halt the expansion of their Orwellian state at any point over the past two years? The safe bet is that these numbers have grown exponentially.

Berlin Rumbles Washington’s Hidden War Agenda

Berlin and the rest of Europe need to move fast to underpin diplomacy with Russia and to head off Washington’s death-wish plunge into the abyss.

Washington’s reckless attempts to scuttle the shaky ceasefire in Ukraine are unnerving Germany. The German government feels, with good reason, that the Americans are trying to undermine its recent efforts to mediate a political solution to the nearly year-old conflict, which has caused at least 6,000 deaths and up to one million refugees. Not only that but the violence between the ultranationalist regime in Kiev and the pro-Russian separatists in the east is threatening to spillover into a wider war that could involve Russia and the rest of Europe.

Washington Yanks British Bulldog into Line

The gross interference by Washington in Britain’s forthcoming election on the vital issue of budgetary priorities clearly demonstrates that British «democracy» is but an appendage to an American leash. And the leash is being yanked to pull the snarling bulldog into line.

In a brazen show of bringing-to-heel in their «special relationship», American political and Pentagon chiefs are openly rebuking the British government to maintain its huge military spend on the NATO alliance – to the possible detriment of already withering public services in austerity-clobbered Britain. A newspaper editor was handed startling evidence that Britain’s top law enforcement official knew there was a VIP pedophile network in Westminster, at the heart of the British government. The Battle Of Britain

In the last two months, UK Jewish leaders have repeatedly complained about an alarming rise of anti-Semitism in Britain. I’d like to use this opportunity to advise them that intimidating Britain’s arts schools and constantly bullying one of Britain’s prominent jazz artists doesn’t reflect well on British Jews or Israel’s supporters. Paradoxically, it confirms that Zionists, like their opponents, support and believe in cultural and academic suppression, they just don’t like to be boycotted themselves.

IPCC to investigate police 'cover up' of eight year old boy's murder

The official police watchdog is to investigate claims that Scotland Yard covered up the murder of a young boy at the hands of a Westminster paedophile ring.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) will examine whether corrupt Met Police officers ignored clues to the death of eight-year-old Vishal Mehrotra in 1981.

Last November Vishal’s father, retired magistrate Vishambar Mehrotra, told the Telegraph that police had deliberately covered up his son’s killing to protect a network of high-profile child abusers.

Washington Yanks British Bulldog into Line

In a brazen show of bringing-to-heel in their «special relationship», American political and Pentagon chiefs are openly rebuking the British government to maintain its huge military spend on the NATO alliance – to the possible detriment of already withering public services in austerity-clobbered Britain. The imposition by Washington raises serious questions about the nature of democracy in Britain – the self-proclaimed «Mother of all Parliaments».

SIGN THIS PETITION - Reverse the concert cancellation of the Gilad Atzmon & The Orient House Ensemble

Jazz was born as an art form for social commitment through improvisation as a way to express freedom.

If a jazz artist is not able to be free in their expression, then the freedom for everyone is at risk. Silencing an artist is complicit in censorship.

We, the undersigned, strongly protest the recent cancellation of the Royal Northern College of Music's concert featuring Gilad Atzmon & The Orient House Ensemble; one of the most successful and critically acclaimed jazz groups in Europe.

It is our understanding that due to pressure from the Zionist Lobby group, the North West Friends of Israel, the concert was cancelled due to a "safety" issue.

Netanyahu’s Big Gamble

In pursuing the strategy of preserving the perception of the Iranian threat in order to maintain the special relationship with the United States, Netanyahu is pursuing strategies that sabotage America’s own foreign policy interests...

By going over President Obama’s head to Congress, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu is taking a big gamble, apparently hoping that he can block any U.S. rapprochement with Iran and heighten tensions in the Middle East, a strategy that lacks both facts and logic, says Ted Snider.

Manchester Music School Surrenders to Zionist Lobby Pressure

Yesterday I learned that my concert at The Royal Northern College of Music this coming Thursday had been cancelled due to Zionist pressure. I spoke with the RNCM's Marketing Director who told me that the concert was cancelled due to 'safety reasons.' It seems that the venue felt 'unable to guarantee my safety.' Given that I’m now a pretty big boy, this would be somewhat amusing except that the terrible implication is that Zionist’s violence has now made it to Britain. It took a few hours before I found out that it was the ultra- Zionist 'North West Friend Of Israel' that had put pressure on the music school.

Labour's Lord Owen own goal over tax avoidance as he is ordered to repay £50,000 after investigation by HMRC

Former Labour Foreign Secretary and party donor David Owen has been exposed as having invested in a tax avoidance scheme – in a major embarrassment for Ed Miliband.

Lord Owen has been ordered to repay around £50,000 after an investigation by the tax authorities. He is a supporter of Mr Miliband and last year he gave £7,500 to the Labour party.

HMRC investigators will this month insist the 76-year-old settles within 90 days or face legal action.

Pegida UK falls flat: Newcastle counter-demo outnumbers anti-Islamists by 5-to-1

Fewer than 300 people turned up in Newcastle for the first-ever rally of anti-Islamist group Pegida in the UK, while at least 1,500 gathered to protest the demo, just hundreds of yards away.

“We are here because nobody else who should be talking about the problems in this country is talking about them,” said Pegida’s keynote speaker, Paul Weston, from the far-right Liberty GB party, to an audience that mostly comprised white middle-aged men holding Union Jacks.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This attempt to fan the flames of hate against Muslims is failing because we recognize it as the same tactic the Nazis used against the Jews, leading to WW2.

What the BRICS plus Germany are really up to?

Winston Churchill once said, “I feel lonely without a war.” He also badly missed the loss of empire. Churchill’s successor – the ‘Empire of Chaos’ – now faces the same quandary. Some wars – as in Ukraine, by proxy – are not going so well.

And the loss of empire increasingly manifests itself in myriad moves by selected players aiming towards a multipolar world.

So no wonder US ‘Think Tankland’ is going bonkers, releasing wacky CIA-tinted “forecasts” where Russia is bound to disintegrate, and China is turning into a communist dictatorship. So much (imperial) wishful thinking, so little time to prolong hegemony.

MI6 complicity? Lee Rigby killer’s torture claims investigated, says Cameron

A new inquiry will be conducted into claims that MI6 were complicit in the alleged torture of Michael Adebolajo, one of the two men later convicted of murdering British soldier Lee Rigby in Woolwich in May 2013.

The investigation will focus on how the British spy agency handled claims Adebolajo was beaten by Kenya’s security forces, who have close ties with the UK, while detained there in 2010.

Prime Minister David Cameron ordered the inquiry after a report by Parliament’s Intelligence and Security Committee (ISC) criticized MI6, also known as the Secret Intelligence Service.

The committee’s report found MI6 never asked the Kenyan authorities about Adebolajo’s claims, dismissing them as fabricated.

Treasury admits 'fat finger' blunder costing Lloyds bond holders £2bn

The Treasury has admitted it made a blunder by telling Lloyds Banking Group that it had permission to buy back investor bonds that propped the bank up in the wake of the financial crash – depriving holders of the notes billions of pounds in interest payments.

The so-called "fat finger" error reported by Business Insider, saw the Treasury incorrectly state the Prudential Regulatory Authority had approved Lloyds' application to redeem a series of Enhanced Capital Notes (ECNs), disclosed by the bank on 16th December 2014.

A statement by Sir Nicholas Macpherson, Permanent Secretary, HM Treasury, said: "HM Treasury understands that the PRA has not yet made a decision regarding whether to approve Lloyds Banking Group's application. We apologise for this error, and sincerely regret any problems caused."
