Putin on Israel’s role in Il-20 downing: ‘Looks accidental, like chain of tragic circumstances’

“When people are dying – especially under such circumstances – it is always a tragedy,” President Putin said during a joint press conference with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban in Moscow on Tuesday.

Responding to a reporter’s question as to whether the incident in Latakia could be compared to the downing of the Russian Su-24 by Turkey in 2015, Putin said the two situations were “different.”

Ankara “deliberately downed” the Russian jet, he explained, while the Il-20 incident “looks like a chain of tragic circumstances, because the Israeli plane didn’t shoot down our jet.”

Will Russia-Israel ties suffer after downing of Il-20 military plane off Syrian coast?

Although the plane was technically shot down by a Syrian missile, Russia made it clear who it blames in the tragedy, saying that Israeli pilots used the Russian Il-20 as a cover.

Russian MoD Blames Israel for Downing Il-20, Tel Aviv Says it's Syria's Fault

The Russian Defense Ministry held a press conference to discuss the destruction of a Russian military aircraft with people on board off the coast of Syria, which happened at the same time that Israeli and French forces were mounting aerial attacks on targets in Syria.

The Il-20 aircraft has been downed by Syrian military forces after Israel jets put it under attack off the Syrian coast, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov stated. According to the spokesman, the Israeli jets deliberately created a dangerous situation in Latakia. He stressed that Israel's aviation control systems could not but notice the Russian aircraft as it was landing.

"Israel did not warn the command of the Russian troops in Syria about the planned operation. We received a notification via a hotline less than a minute before the strike, which did not allow the Russian aircraft to be directed to a safe zone," Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov said.

Zionists like Sheldon Adelson pushed Trump to pull out of Iran nuclear deal: Scholar

US President Donald Trump pulled out of the Iran nuclear deal under pressure from the Zionists like Sheldon Adelson and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, an American scholar says.

Adelson, a billionaire Zionist casino owner and Republican party funder, and Netanyahu pressured Trump into pulling out of the of the Iran nuclear deal, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), James Fetzer, a prominent American political philosopher, told Press TV in a telephone interview on Saturday.

“What is outrageous is that Trump pulled out of the Iran nuclear deal for no good reason,” Fetzer said.

US intelligence services -- on several occasions -- including Israeli Mossad had confirmed that the Iranian government was not in pursuit of developing nuclear weapons, the scholar said.

Israel's weak army not ready for war

The Israeli army's ombudsman, Major General Yitzhak Brick, has harshly criticized Israel?s military readiness for war.

China To Take Over Israel's Largest Port, Could Threaten US Naval Operations

A top Israeli military and energy official has questioned Israel and China's growing economic ties just as a Chinese company is set to begin operating Haifa Port as part of a major 25-year contract previously struck in 2015.

“When China acquires ports,” Israeli Brigadier General Shaul Horev began in an interview this week with national news source, Arutz Sheva, “it does so under the guise of maintaining a trade route from the Indian Ocean via the Suez Canal to Europe, such as the port of Piraeus in Greece. Does an economic horizon like this have a security impact?"

Gen. Horev, who has also served as navy chief of staff and chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission, continued to sound the alarm over a Chinese takeover, "We are not weighing that possibility sufficiently. One of the senior American figures at the conference raised the question of whether the U.S. Sixth Fleet can see Haifa as a home port. In light of the Chinese takeover, the question is no longer on the agenda.”

How Christian Zionists got their man into the White House ...

On 18 July, US Vice President Mike Pence delivered the keynote speech at the annual summit of Christians United for Israel (CUFI). Hagee endorsed Donald Trump for president in May 2016
***
Pence's speech marks a fundamental change in the language that the White House has historically employed to articulate the United States' relationship with Israel," Dan Hummel, a fellow at Harvard Kennedy School, wrote in the Washington Post.

That fundamental change is towards Christian Zionism, an ideology that bases its political support for Israel on the belief that the modern state of Israel is a manifestation of prophecies in the Bible - and that the very fate of the United States is prophetically linked with Israel.

Hummel describes Pence as an "ardent Christian Zionist" who expresses his support for Israel in explicitly prophetic terms>>>>

FORGET PUTIN: 4 REASONS WHY TRUMP IS NETANYAHU’S MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE

In the months leading up to the 25th anniversary of the Oslo Accords, the U.S. has colluded with Israel in a string of policies and decisions that completely undermine the legitimacy of the agreement, not to mention Palestinian claims to justice, freedom and ultimately peace. As these policies unfold, one cannot help recalling the words of the great Palestinian writer Ghassan Kanafani, who said that talking with the Israelis is “a conversation between the sword and the neck.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

When one is owned by Sheldon Adelson, as is President Trump, because
Adelson has kept throwing all possible contribution money in President Trump's direction, you do his - and Netanyahu's - bidding.

And where this agenda ultimately will most probably take the Unhinged, Surveilled, State of Amerika, is as follows:

It appears very likely that soon, the US will bomb Syria in Idlib, as the result of a staged, faked chemical attack against it, or the result of Syrian and Russian forces attacking the rebel stronghold here, which can potentially morph into a shooting war between the US and Russia Russia there. Tel Aviv wants regime change in Damascus, and apparently, President Trump has promised Netanyahu that he will deliver...but only at the costs of American money, and American blood, rather than Israeli; such a deal!!

It appears that President Trump, realizing that he cannot cause all countries who buy oil from Iran, to stop buying it, may move forward with either a false flag in the Gulf, to prevent Iranian oil from being shipped anywhere, or an outright attack against Tehran, again to generate Israeli-desired regime change here, and again, only at the costs of American blood and American money; such a deal!! Timing is significant here, because it is Sunday, 4 November, which he has given as the "drop dead" date for all countries to stop buying Iranian oil. I would suggest that, between the 4th and Tuesday, the 6th of that month, the date of US mid-terms, that we may well see military action against Iran. I do not know what Russia will do under those circumstances, but my gut is telling me that Russia's Putin - and the Russian Duma - will not be sitting, arms folded, and singing "Kumbayah" should this happen, and may well come to Iran's defense.

So what we have here, are two scenarios which are all upside for Israel's foreign policies, but all downside for the US government, and the US people.

That President Trump is unable to distinguish what is really for the best for the American people, such as not going to war against these countries, and negotiating for resources the US may well need in the future, rather than going to a world war to control them, is one of the most terrifying aspects of this Presidency.

If the rumours regarding Sec-def Mattis' departure from the Cabinet are true, happening right after the mid-terms, with a new Sec-Def confirmed, look for a potential reinstatement of the draft; Trump won't do it before, because he knows it's an election year loser for the Republicans.

I wish I could see a happier outcome for this country, unshackled at the ankles from Israel's foreign policy objectives; but unfortunately, looking at all the potential wars looming to service the Zionist dream for an "Eretz Israel", or greater Israel, I just cannot see such an outcome at this moment in time.

US STATE DEPARTMENT REVOKES PLO AMBASSADOR FAMILY VISAS

The United States revoked visas for the family of the Palestine Liberation Organization ambassador, the envoy said on Sunday, the latest development in the worsening relations between the Trump administration and Palestinian leadership, Reuters reports.

Conceding Defeat in Iraq: The US Has Only Itself To Blame For Iran’s Growing Influence In The Country

***Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders blamed “proxies” of Iran for recent attacks at the US consulate in Basra and near the American embassy compound in Baghdad’s ‘Green Zone’, adding that “Iran did not act to stop these attacks by its proxies in Iraq, which it has supported with funding, training, and weapons.”
There can be no disputing that Iran wields immense, if not overwhelming, influence in Iraq and that Gen. Qasem Soleimani, commander of the Revolutionary Guards’ Qods Brigade, is a kingmaker in Baghdad. He oversaw the process of foiling the independence referendum which Masoud Barzani held in Iraqi Kurdistan. He also played the key role in establishing the Popular Mobilization forces and other armed groups that fought a ferocious campaign to eject the Islamic State group (Daesh) from Mosul and other Iraqi cities. At present, he is focusing his efforts on putting together the new Iraqi government.
But this growing Iranian influence is a consequence of the American invasion of the country 15 years>>>

Several powerful explosions occurred in Damascus at 9:50 p.m. (6:50 GMT) on Saturday.

Emboldened by Trump, Israel Bombs Damascus International Airport

Emboldened by Trump’s continuing threats to protect al-Qaeda in Syria, Israel has chosen the joyous occasion of the Damascus 60th International Fair…to bomb Damascus International Airport. Not that it matters to Israel — or to Trump — it is a war crime to bomb civilian planes and airports. Several missiles were intercepted by Syria’s air defense system and no casualties have been reported at this writing.

China will operate Haifa port, near Israel's alleged nuclear-armed submarines,

Prof. Horev noted that one topic that came up at the event was Chinese investments in Mediterranean ports, and in Israel in particular. The Oslo Accords did not fail. The Oslo Accords were simply not implemented.

On the twenty-fifth anniversary of the historic handshake between Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin and PLO Chairman Yasser Arafat, one must remember and remind of the truth: The Oslo Accords did not fail. The Oslo Accords were simply not implemented. The non-implementation of the agreements had already cost thousands of lives and may many more lives.

The Oslo Accords had set an interim period of five years that began in April 1994. The situation in which the Palestinian Authority holds only a collection of isolated enclaves, having no real power even there, was to end in May 1999. Likelwise, the division of the West Bank into the A., B. and C. areas was intended to be a temporary arrangement for only these five years, from 1994 to 1999. At the end of five years, all this should have been come to its end, replaced by implementation of the Definite Status.

Israeli troops kill boy, two men in Gaza protests - medics

Israeli soldiers killed three Palestinians, one of them an 11-year-old boy, and wounded at least 248 others taking part on Friday in weekly protests at the fortified Gaza Strip border, Palestinian medical officials said.

The Israeli military said it used force necessary to repel 13,000 Palestinians who massed at several points at the fence.

Some hurled rocks, fire-bombs and grenades at troops under cover of smoke from burning tyres, injuring a soldier, and nine Palestinians briefly crossed into Israel, the military said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

These demonstrations will end in one of two ways; either there is a negotiated settlement between Israel and the Palestinians, affirming the Palestinian Right of Return, or a complete annihilation of Palestinians in Gaza, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem.

Given Israeli government and military hubris, unfortunately, I fear that it will be the latter, rather than the former outcome.

President Trump will probably get notified after the fact, and it will probably be carried out when Americans are distracted by football, food, and possibly during the American family festival of Thanksgiving, if Tel Aviv thinks it can wait that long to strike.

But there is one thing about which I am certain; these protests, and the assassinations of innocents by the IDF, will continue until one of the two outcomes I have described above, actually happens.

EU Nations Consider Clearing House to Avoid Iran Sanctions

The big stumbling block with EU companies continuing to trade with Iran is financing. US threats to punish companies involved in such trade have scared away a lot of banks, despite EU assurances that they will protect companies.

This clearing house would aim to avoid banks, and money changing hands across borders, entirely. One European company could pay the clearing house for imported Iranian oil, and the clearing house would give that money to another EU company providing goods or services to Iran.

While the US theoretically wants to sanction all trade with Iran, particularly oil imports, they have limited options to punish a European company whose business is to buy Iranian oil, or European industrial firms with projects inside Iran.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This attempt to deprive Iran it's oil revenue.... was never fully thought through.

So what is President Trump going to do when he realizes that the EU is not going to comply with sanctions, declare war on them?!?

Given his proclivity for preferring war over negotiations, I have to wonder.

AFTER CUTING ALL UNWRA HUMANITARIAN AID, US TO AWARD ISRAEL WITH $3.3B/YEAR IN MILITARY AID

A massive spending bill, which would deliver $3.3 billion dollars in military aid to Israel over the next year, passed the House on Wednesday under cover of a media blackout. The U.S. Senate had passed a different version of the same bill in early August, a vote that also went largely unreported.

Now, after the House’s passage of a slightly altered version of the Senate’s spending bill, officially titled the “Ileana Ros-Lehtinen United States-Israel Security Assistance Authorization Act of 2018,” all that remains is for the two chambers of Congress to reconcile their versions before the product is sent to President Trump’s desk to be signed into law. According to Skopos Labs, the bill now has a 90 percent chance of being enacted. If enacted, the bill will be the largest aid package in American history.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Sheldon Adelson must be high-fiving himself right now, for having purchased a presidency (as he has done with Donald Trump's), and insuring that all of the US foreign policy in the Middle East is 100% dictated by Tel Aviv.

The deep cutting of US aid to Palestinian humanitarian organizations, coupled with this defense bill to greatly benefit both Israel's offensive and defensive posture, are but two demonstrations of who owns DC, when it comes to the Middle East.

The next demonstrations of Israel's having US foreign policy by its gonads, will be a US war against Russia and Syria in Syria, followed an invasion of Iran after that, most probably right around the time of the US mid-term elections.

Understand this; these wars will only result in costs in American blood, and American money; not in Israeli blood or money at all.

And after the mid-terms, look for the potential return of the draft in this country. And do not expect for any of the Trump or Kushner Families to be bothered having to serve; after all, they... are monied families, and monied families always have creative ways to avoid military service, unless it is behind a desk, with zero probability of being killed or maimed for life in these coming wars.

‘Teargas became my daily meal’ — the endless harassment of a Jerusalem neighborhood makes life unacceptable

What a day. We started early, at around 2:30 AM, when savage mercenaries from the Israel IDF invaded my father’s and my house. They started to knock hard on the main door, and when my father open the door, eight of them entered with their weapons into the house before I woke up and went down to see what was happening. By that time, five of them went up to my house [apartment], woke my family and pushed them downstairs to my father’s.

All of us were held in one room; and the soldiers started to go into the rooms, one by one. They took our mobiles [cell phones] and IDs [and] birth certificates. My little daughters were sitting staring, not knowing what is happening. Who are these people with guns and masks wandering in our house, and shouting and pushing? My father was as usual the strongest and fought back.

Leading NY rabbi says opposition to Israel is ‘litmus test’ for Jews participating on left, and that’s anti-Semitic

Three days ago on Rosh Hashanah, Angela Buchdahl gave a stemwinder of a sermon on anti-Semitism at the Central Synagogue in New York. Below are excerpted passages from her transcript (on Facebook; though I’ve added some links) in which she says that harsh criticism of Israel is anti-Semitic. Central Synagogue is a Reform congregation and Buchdahl is clearly anxious about preserving Israel as a progressive cause.

Buchdahl began her sermon by listing several examples of bigotry aimed at Jews in public life, including the march in Charlottesville in August 2017, Holocaust denial by one Republican candidate for the House, and statements by another Republican candidate that “Hitler was right” about “Jewish cabals.” Buchdahl included in that list sharp criticisms of Israel by leftleaning politicians, and named Jeremy Corbyn of Britain and Ilhan Omar, a presumptive congresswoman from Minnesota.

Israel warns it may reduce Gaza fishing zone even further

Israeli media revealed on Friday an Israeli plan to reduce Gaza’s fishing zone as a “punitive measure” in retaliation for the seaborne protests aiming to break the 12-year Israeli siege imposed on the coastal enclave, Quds Press has reported.

“In spite of Israel’s expansion of the fishing zone off the Gaza coast from six to nine [nautical] miles, Hamas has intensified breaking the siege flotillas so that friction with the Israeli navy has increased,” a security official told Israeli Channel 24 TV.

Territorial waters are, by convention, set at 22 nautical miles, although fishing vessels are normally allowed to work in international waters. In any case, the Israeli navy often attacks Palestinian fishermen even within the very restrictive zone that the siege imposes.

The Israeli forces continued to use upon highest military and political echelons excessive force against the peaceful demonstrators who posed no threat or danger to the life of Israeli soldiers in the areas of demonstrations.

Why is Europe still funding occupation profiteer Ahava?

The European Union has broken its commitment to cease funding firms based in Israel’s illegal settlements.

Five years ago, the EU issued a policy paper stating that Israeli companies were not eligible to draw down subsidies if they had been set up in the occupied West Bank.

One such company, the cosmetics maker Ahava, has nonetheless managed to participate in Horizon 2020, the Union’s latest program for scientific research. It is benefitting from a $4.5 million EU-funded scheme on using nanotechnology to develop new skin care products.

Ahava is headquartered in the settlement of Mitzpe Shalem. Like all Israel’s settlements in the West Bank, Mitzpe Shalem has been constructed in violation of the Fourth Geneva Convention.

There can be no doubt that Ahava is based there.

Palestinians killed as Gaza vows new push to break siege

Israeli forces shot and killed at least two Palestinians during protests held under the slogan of “Resistance is Our Choice” along Gaza’s eastern boundary on Friday.

In addition to those killed by Israeli live fire, a 12-year-old boy, Shadi Abd al-Al, died of internal bleeding after being hit in the head by a hard object during a demonstration in Jabaliya, in the north of the Gaza Strip, according to the rights group Al Mezan.

“The nature of the object that hit and killed him has not been fully established at the publication of this press release,” the group stated late Friday.

The two Palestinians killed by live fire on Friday were identified as Hani Ramzi Afaneh, 21, and Muhammad Shaqoura, 20.

More than 130 Palestinians have been killed during the Great March of Return protests and around 20,000 have been injured, nearly 5,000 by live ammunition.

Israel running campaign against Jeremy Corbyn

An app operated as part of an Israeli government propaganda campaign issued a “mission” for social media users to make comments against Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn, accusing him of anti-Semitism.

Has Netanyahu won?

In this week's UpFront, we talk to Dore Gold, the former Israeli ambassdor to the United Nations (UN) and a close adviser to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, about the political stalemate with the Palestinians and Israel's controversial nation-state law.
***
Since US President Donald Trump took office in 2017, his administration has been criticised for various measures seemingly taken against the Palestinians and in favour of Israel, including the recent decision to close the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO)'s diplomatic mission in Washington, DC.

When asked about the negative effect such actions might have on future peace negotiations, Gold said Trump was trying to introduce "realism" to the debate.

A law lesson from Alan Dershowitz

"Alan Dershowitz has challenged Channel 4 TV in Britain and Jeremy Corbyn, casting himself as a defender against anti-Semitism and an advocate for fairness. Dershowitz, who consistently posits himself as a liberal who has discovered that too much tolerance is wrong (for example, The Case For Israel), denounced Corbyn’s displays of tolerance for different viewpoints by attributing to Corbyn the alleged crimes of others. Evidently Dershowitz does not impose these rigours upon himself or his own clients, including Jeffrey Epstein who pled guilty to soliciting a minor for prostitution (and with whom Dershowitz was accused and then exonerated while not denying “statements that the underlying alleged misconduct may have occurred with someone else”).">>

Kushner: Trump’s measures against Palestinians won’t hurt peace

Punitive measures taken against the Palestinians by the Trump Administration, including the cutting of UN aid and the closure of the Palestinian consulate in Washington, has not hampered peace efforts, the US president’s senior advisor and son-in-law Jared Kushner has said.

Speaking to the New York Times on the 25 anniversary of the Oslo Accords, Kushner argued that the US had taken brave stances against Palestinian demands.

“There were too many false realities that were created — that people worship — that I think needed to be changed,” he said. “All we’re doing is dealing with things as we see them and not being scared out of doing the right thing. I think, as a result, you have a much higher chance of actually achieving a real peace.”

Charges 'Without Merit' - Jeremy Corbyn, Antisemitism, Norman Finkelstein and Noam Chomsky

Referencing allegations that two Russian agents had been responsible for the poisoning of former Russian spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia in Salisbury on March 4, the cartoon depicted a British policeman holding up mugshots of a menacing, bug-eyed 'Jeremy Korbynski' (wearing an 'I Love Hamas' badge) and a vampiric, evil-looking 'Seumasov Milne' (wearing a 'Down With Israel' badge), with the policeman saying:

'THESE TWO MEN ARE SUSPECTED OF SPREADING POISON AROUND BRITAIN...'

As Brookes made clear in his tweet, the alleged 'poison' Corbyn and Milne, Labour's director of communications, are supposedly spreading is, of course, antisemitism.

We have always been struck by the sense of complete unreality surrounding this debate and decided to check when and how often Corbyn has been accused of antisemitism since first being elected as an MP in 1983.

Provoked by BDS campaign, Trump administration says anti-Zionism is anti-Semitism

The IHRA issue has jumped the Atlantic. The International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance definition of anti-Semitism that entails saying Israel is a racist endeavor and that has roiled the British Labour Party is now the Education Department’s standard.

On that basis Kenneth Marcus, the longtime Israel advocate who now heads the office of civil rights at Trump’s Education Department, is reopening a case that the Obama administration dismissed, of alleged anti-semitism on the part of Palestinian solidarity activists at Rutgers in 2011.

Russia warns about US attempts to prepare global public opinion for new attack on Syria

Russia says it is concerned about the attempts being made by the United States to prepare the global public opinion for new military aggression against Syria.

“Regarding the international political point of view, the most serious concern is using of a very serious range of opportunities by Washington: from statements by officials to comments by biased media, the goal seems to be the preparation of public opinion for … new aggression against Syria,” said Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova in a press conference in the capital Moscow on Thursday.

She added that tensions were particularly on the rise in Syria’s northwestern province of Idlib due to a high concentration of militants there.

“Despite the uncovering of plans by militants and representatives of White Helmets to stage the use of chemical weapons by government troops, preparation of the above-mentioned staged action continues inside the Idlib zone,” Zakharova said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The things people need to keep asking themselves, are as follows:

IF, with Russia's help, al Assad has been able to liberate nearly the entire country, why would he be using poison chemicals on his own people?!? This makes utterly zero sense.

IF Syria destroyed its chemical weapons under an international agreement and inspection, how are these chemical agents getting into Syria now?!? Who has smuggled them into the country?!?

The short answer is, the people who want the false flag to happen as a justification for an American attack against Idlib, have had these chemicals smuggled in.

Trump May Replace Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis with a Neocon

Now there are rumors circulating that Mattis will step down in the months ahead. If this happens, who will replace him?

Arkansas senator Cotton (or Graham), Bolton, and Sec. State Pompeo would be an almost ideal triad for Israel and the neocons who faithfully do the apartheid state’s bidding in Congress.

For Cotton, it’s all about Israel and the Likudniks. He received $700,000 for his Senate campaign from the Emergency Committee for Israel.

“During the 2014 Israeli invasion of Gaza, when over 500 Palestinian were killed, Cotton called the Israeli defense force ‘the most moral, humanitarian fighting force in the world.’ In December he said Congress should consider supplying Israel with B-52s and so-called ‘bunker-buster’ bombs for a possible strike against Iran,” Medea Benjamin and Nalini Ramachandran wrote back in March, 2015.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Please, Lord; not another neocon Likudnik for Secretary of Defense!!

These people are thoroughly blind to the reality that what may in fact be good for Israeli geopolitics may not, at all, be good for the US, and the costs in blood and money for a potential attack against Iran would be horrific.

Turkey boosts arms to Syrian rebels as Idlib attack looms - rebel sources

Turkey has stepped up arms supplies to Syrian rebels to help them stave off an expected offensive by the Syrian army and its Russian and Iran-backed allies in the northwest near the Turkish frontier, rebel sources told Reuters.

Senior rebel officials said Turkey had sent more military aid to rebels in and around the Idlib region since a summit meeting with Iran and Russia last week failed to agree a deal to avert a government offensive into the area.

Turkey, which is already hosting 3.5 million Syrian refugees, is warning against such an attack, fearing it could force more Syrians over the border. President Tayyip Erdogan has warned of a humanitarian disaster and security risks for Turkey.

“They pledged complete Turkish military support for a long, protracted battle,” a senior FSA commander who was privy to talks in recent days with senior Turkish officials said, requesting anonymity as he was not authorised to speak publicly.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This assault will be a bloodbath, and neither Syria nor Russia can appear as though they are backing down from their vow to rid Idlib of rebels, but the costs will be horrific.

U.S. Department of Education reopens case against Rutgers alleging anti-Semitism

The U.S. Department of Education has reopened a seven-year old complaint against Rutgers University alleging Jewish students were subject to a hostile environment – a move that comes as the department’s assistant secretary for civil rights adopts a broader definition of anti-Semitism that includes criticisms of Israel.

Kenneth Marcus, the assistant secretary, said a pro-Palestinian event in January 2011 may have discriminated against Jewish students by charging them admission while allowing others in for free – allegations event organizers disputed.

A Rutgers spokesman said in a statement that the university was not notified about the investigation but will cooperate fully with the Department of Education.

“There is no place for anti-Semitism or any form of religious intolerance at Rutgers,” officials said in a statement.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Please, Lord.... NO!! Antisemitism CANNOT be conflated with logical, factual criticisms of the Israeli government, particularly as they apply to Palestinians.

IF the ruling is in favor of the Jewish students, it is going to have a chilling, crushing effect on free speech in this country, if the court rules in favor of Israel; but please understand, that is precisely Israel wants to see happen; and the reason for that is so that conversations about innocent Palestinian kids getting put in jail, tortured, to obtain confessions, and then signing legal documents in a language they don't know (Hebrew) will come to an end.

Iran WARNING: US tells airlines not to fly through airspace as WW3 fears rise

The advisory also warns military activities linked to the bloody conflict in Syria have been ramped across Iran's airspace.

Tensions between Tehran and Washington are running high following Donald Trump’s controversial decision to pull out of the landmark Iran nuclear deal re-introduce economic sanctions last month.

Flight Service Bureau, which provides safety information on airspace to airlines, said "without seeming alarmist", the deteriorating relationship between the US and Iran must be taken into account when planning flights in Iran's airspace.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is getting just about as serious as is a heart attack: I find myself very alarmed at these developments.

Why let Netanyahu write the Labour rulebook?

I’d had a suspicion that we were going to end up with the full IHRA when the Labour National Executive Committee (NEC) met on 4th Sept. The weekend before, the shadow chancellor, John McDonnell, had been making conciliatory noises, seeking to assure the Jewish community that the full IHRA would be adopted. And so it was. The long coda that Corbyn sought, that would allow Labour members to state Israel was a racist state, was not accepted; instead at the behest of Jon Lansman of Momentum and MP Rebecca Long-Bailey the NEC agreed to this weak free speech caveat: “We recommend that we adopt the IHRA in full with all examples. This does not in any way undermine the freedom of expression on Israel or the rights of Palestinians. We re-invite the organisations to re-engage in consultation on the Code of Conduct.”

US Destroyer Enters Mediterranean As Syria Tensions Build; Carrier On Standby

An American battleship, the USS Bulkeley destroyer, has reportedly entered the Mediterranean and is headed for Syria, equipped with over 50 Tomahawk missiles. This deployment comes after previous reports of the attack submarine USS Newport News (SSN-750) arriving in the Mediterranean, and after the arrival Tuesday of A U.S. Marine Corps small attack carrier full of F-35B stealth jets, the USS Essex, in the Middle East region as detailed by the military website, Task and Purpose.

The Russian news agency Interfax now reports that American forces in the region possess up to 200 Tomahawk cruise missiles available to strike targets in Syria if ordered to do so.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Folks, it is really looking to me that a US attack is definitely on regarding Syria; perhaps not today, but in the very near-term.

This is an awful lot of hardware to preposition without being quite ready to use it, and my sense, as ham-fistedly, pig-headedly stupid of President Trump to order a strike in Syria, which most probably means hot combat against Russian troops as well, that this will happen soon, and my guess is, it will be ordered later this month, to give him traction through the Mid-term elections.

Israeli military sends reinforcements to Palestinian village to begin its demolition

The Israeli military has reportedly sent reinforcements to Khan al-Ahmar as the regime prepares to demolish the Palestinian Bedouin village in the occupied West Bank in defiance of international warnings and criticisms.

The Palestinian Information Center reported on Thursday that Israeli forces had completely besieged Khan al-Ahmar, situated east of Jerusalem al-Quds, and deployed bulldozers to the village.

Last week, Israel’s Supreme Court rejected appeals against the demolition of Khan al-Ahmar and said a temporary injunction that had put the move on hold would expire within seven days.

The Tel Aviv regime says the village is built illegally, but Palestinians say the demolition plan is part of the regime’s forcible displacement policy to make room for its settlement construction activities on occupied land.

Ambassador: EU Is Against Member States Moving Embassy to Jerusalem

Palestinian ambassador to the European Union (EU) Abdul Rahim al-Farra denied on Thursday reports that the Czech Republic intends to move its embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, stressing that the EU opposes such a move by individual member states.

He told Voice of Palestine radio that until now there is no official confirmation regarding this issue, pointing out that there were assurances from the Czech foreign ministry that the embassy will not be moved to Jerusalem.

Farra said the European Union, especially its foreign service represented by Federica Mogherini, had called on all EU member states not to move their embassy to Jerusalem because such an act would affect the peace process and the two-state solution, adding that the EU does not have any information about moving the Czech embassy.

Trump: 'Israel Did 9/11' Protester "Is a Trump Guy"

On 12/21/15 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, President Trump said that I was "Very Committed," "A Trump Guy," "Got a lot of energy", And That "I'm On His Side," after I interrupted his speech from the front row, shouting that "Israel did 9/11!" and that it was Israelis, not Muslims, who were cheering and arrested in New Jersey on 9/11. ‘Why do the sick people have to pay the price of political conflict?’: East Jerusalem hospitals respond to US funding cuts

The Palestinian Authority has allegedly pledged to remedy the budget deficit caused by the Trump administration’s announcement on Saturday that it would be cutting $25 million in aid to Palestinian hospitals in occupied East Jerusalem.

In a press conference on Monday, the Secretary General of the East Jerusalem Hospital Network Walid Namur told journalists that he received a call on Monday from the Palestinian Minister of Health saying that President Mahmoud Abbas had ordered $25 million from the PA’s general budget to go towards the hospital network.

“At the end of every tunnel, there is light. We saw that light today,” Namur told the crowd as he spoke of Monday’s phone call.

“This is very good news for us because it means we can continue serving our patients, and we can continue essential services that are otherwise unavailable in Gaza or the West Bank,” he said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I would very politely suggest to President Trump, that these humanitarian cuts in aid to Palestinian health care outlets, is not going to lessen the Palestinians' desire for the right of return in the least.

What he is doing with these cuts, is hurting ill people, who desperately need what little care these hospitals can provide.

Is Trump Going Neocon in Syria?

Is Trump ready to order U.S. action against Russian and Syrian forces if Assad gives his army the green light to take Idlib? For the bombing of Idlib has already begun.

What makes this more than an academic exercise is that Vladimir Putin and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, at a meeting in Tehran last Friday, told President Erdogan of Turkey that the reconquest of Idlib is going forward.

Erdogan fears that the Syrian army’s recapture of Idlib would send hundreds of thousands more refugees streaming to his border.

Turkey already hosts millions of refugees from Syria’s civil war.

Yet the massing of the Syrian army near Idlib and the Russian and Syrian bombing now begun suggest that the Assad-Putin-Rouhani coalition has decided to accept the risk of a clash with the Americans in order to bring an end to the rebellion. If so, this puts the ball in America’s court.

Webmaster's Commentary:

US Reportedly Reinforces Base in E Syria Amid Looming Idlib Offensive

On September 10, the Fars News Agency reported that the US sent two convoys consisting of ten trucks loaded with logistics and military equipment to the country's al-Susah base in the eastern part of Deir ez-Zor province, controlled by Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). The media platform said, citing local sources that Washington had also sent another convoy consisting of 100 trucks loaded with military equipment from Iraq to unspecified Syrian territories controlled by the SDF, via the Simalka border crossing.

Task & Purpose previously reported that the US had sent over 100 US Marines to reinforce the military base in al-Tanf, Syria. Newly deployed forces will take part in live ammunition military drills, which are being conducted to demonstrate the "capability to deploy rapidly, assault a target and conduct rapid exfiltration," according to US Central Command (CENTCOM).

Webmaster's Commentary:

Looks as though the US war against both Russia and Syria is on; the only question is, how long past the false-flag chemical attack, which will probably be all over the presstitute corporate media in the next couple of days, will President Trump wait to give the command to attack.

Unfortunately, for this country, doing the most ham-fistedly, pig-headedly stupid thing it could do, is no guarantee that the US government won't do it; a US attack against Idlib, which most probably means a military confrontation with Russia, being my case in point here.

Israel settler harasses Palestinian school children

An Israeli settler has been filmed harassing Palestinian children as they made their way to school on Sunday. The children were walking from Tuba to the nearest school in At-Tuwani, in the southernmost West Bank governorate of Hebron, when the incident occurred.

The settler, who resides in the unlawful Israeli settlement of Havat Maon, can be seen blocking the road with his car and telling the children, who are accompanied by international volunteers from Operation Dove, that they cannot pass his car until the Israeli occupation forces arrive.

The settler proceeds to film the children and volunteers as they continue along their route, and subsequently drives his vehicle directly at the children, blocking their path. As he exits his vehicle, he calls over nearby soldiers and lunges at children attempting to bypass his car, screaming at the group. The incident ends when soldiers hold the settler off, allowing the children and volunteers to continue their walk to school.

Trump targets sick Palestinians

The Trump administration in Washington has slashed more than $25 million in approved aid for six hospitals in East Jerusalem providing care to Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip.

The US also announced that it is closing the Palestine Liberation Organization office in Washington.

The Palestinian Authority froze communications with the American administration in December, when Trump declared that the US would recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

World Trade Center’s Infamous 91st-Floor Israeli ‘Art Student’ Project

In the period leading up to 9/11, a group of Israelis (non-U.S. citizens) managed to secure “temporary construction” passes to perform work on the 91st floor of Larry “pull it” Silverstein’s leased WTC 1. These passes gave them access to the entire WTC complex. The pretense was an art project called the “B-Thing” and the group is called Gelatin.

After securing their passes, Gelatin proceeded to remove the heavy WTC windows of an office space on the 91st floor and reportedly constructed a prefab balcony outside of the building. Then they stretched “putty” around the windows and filmed it by helicopter as a stunt shown here. Demonization of Middle East Leaders Prior to Invasion and “Regime Change”. Trump’s Iran Policy

1. The US Iran policy aims at nothing but conflict-building followed by economic, political and military violence

From all the remarks made by President Donald Trump and his senior officials, it is clear that the United States is trying to manufacture another regime change in the Middle East, this time in Iran.

It does so by making use of the tried and tested tactic of demonising Iranian rulers and the Iranian people and by finding false pretences and pretexts for implementing their destructive goals.

We have already had an inkling of these tactics by Trump’s withdrawal from the nuclear deal and his allegation that Iran has not been abiding by the terms of that deal, despite clear evidence of Iranian compliance provided by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), which is in charge of inspecting and certifying Iran’s compliance.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I would suspect, after issuing the entire world a "drop dead date" edict regarding its purchasing oil from Iran, President Trump and the administration have something militarily spectacular planned for that date or thereabout concerning Iran, and that date happens to be Sunday, 4 November; two days away from midterm elections in the US.

Pompeo’s Fingerprints Are All Over Trump’s New Syria Regime Change Policy

The reason given for the dramatic change in policy was the administration’s recent decision to “redefine” its goals in the Syrian conflict, resulting in the emergence of “the exit of all Iranian military and proxy forces from Syria” as the administration’s top priority, effectively overshadowing the U.S.’ long-stated goal of rooting out terror groups like Daesh (ISIS). The shift is part of a broader effort by the Trump administration to target Iranian influence in the region while simultaneously attempting to provoke regime change in Iran through the use of aggressive sanctions and other covert means.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The explosive issue which both Pompeo and Bolton seem to want to ignore here is the following: IF the US maintains its illegally captured space in Syria, and starts attacking Syrian, Iranian, or Russian troops in Syria (remember: the Russians and Iranians were INVITED by the Syrian government, but the US military was NOT), how long before US troops wind up in a shooting war against Russian, Iranian, and Syrian forces?!?

Logic tells me, not too long at all.

So if this "faux" chemical weapons attack happens, I have to wonder just how long it will be before the US declares war on Russia, Syria, and Iran?!?

Logic tells me, not long at all; the US and its allies cannot wait for logic-centric Americans ask themselves the question; why would al-Assad use chemical poisoning against his own people, when he as almost completely gutted the country of US-backed rebels?!? The short, logical answer is, he would not.

For all those who read this blog, who have family in the US military, this question is far from academic.

Israel Should Not Have to Ask Washington’s Permission for Settlements: US Ambassador Friedman

The US ambassador to Tel Aviv says Israel checks all settlement expansion plans in the occupied Palestinian territories with the United States which never challenges them.

In an interview published in Israel Hayom daily, David Friedman said Israel “shouldn’t have to ask permission from the US” to build settlements in the occupied West Bank.

According to Friedman, Israel is entitled to the possibility even though the Trump administration has never challenged an Israeli construction plan in the West Bank.

US newspapers have said Friedman is unfit to be ambassador to Israel, arguing that he has politicized his diplomatic office and misrepresented US policy on the conflict with Palestinians.

“In David Friedman, President Trump has nominated someone who lacks the necessary temperament to serve in such a crucial position,” the San Francisco Chronicle wrote last March.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Translation; the policy of Israeli development of Palestinian land is to create a situation on the ground which makes it physically impossible for a contiguous state of Palestine to exist, period, end of discussion.

I'm sure that for Sheldon Adelson, the financier and casino magnate who has purchased Trump's presidency, and for Bibi Netanyahu, who is one of President Trump's BFFs in the Middle East, the nomination and confirmation of David Friedman as US Ambassador to Israel, has worked out just perfectly for them.
