Are Israel and Iran preparing for war?

(Darius Shahtahmasebi is a New Zealand-based legal and political analyst who focuses on US foreign policy in the Middle East, Asia and Pacific region. He is fully qualified as a lawyer in two international jurisdictions.)

While the US has proven somewhat reluctant to directly strike Iran or its forces, there is another power in the Middle East that appears to be increasingly willing and able to do so on Washington’s behalf: Israel.

Just last month, Israel made a rare admission that its military had carried out a “very intense” attack against Iranian forces and Syrian Army targets in Syria, killing at least 21 fighters and two civilians in the process.Earlier, the IDF destroyed a weapons depot for Iranian-backed forces in Iraq and allegedly undertook drone strikes on Hezbollah positions in Lebanon.

Webmaster's Commentary:

President Trump has given Netanyahu carte blanche to do anything he wants in the Middle East; unfortunately, such liberties given to Netanyahu, who is fighting for his political life, after a series of corruption charges were brought against him, was completely unwise, and absolutely not thought through.

And there is a new bill, which will most likely to hit Congress when it reconvenes in January, which Secretary of State Pompeo and Netanyahu conjured up during their last meeting, to bring the US and Israel even closer in terms of a defense posture for the US regarding Israel:

And how will this proposed pact affect the US/Israel, and the entire Middle East?!?

The following article, from digitalnews.com, spells it out for us:

Netanyahu and Pompeo push ahead with US Israel defense pact

The article goes on to state: "Netanyahu trying to use US connections to stay in power

Netanyahu is actually claiming that the deal shows he needs to stay in power because of his unique ties to the US. Details of the pact have not been released beyond the fact that it will commit the US to war to defend Israel. Those who know about the fact say that it in no way restricts Israel's practice of unilaterally attacking targets across the region. Israeli attacks on Syria and Iraq could continue."

HOLD ON, WHAT THE HELL WAS JUST STATED HERE?!? "THAT THE US WOULD GO TO WAR TO DEFEND ISRAEL?"

Forgive me, but Israel has one of the finest military on the planet; the top of the line defense weaponry; and nuclear weapons; why in the name of heaven should the US be saddled with having to defend it from its nearly pathologically wrong-headed inability to get along with any of its neighbors in the Middle East?!?

A Russian diplomat made the following promise to Iran last summer, which, of course, got no press in the US. Iran ‘Won’t Be Alone’ If U.S. Attacks, Russian Official Says

Watch for an even deeper demonization of Iran and Russia from the US presstitutes; and God help this country if this "defense pact" is ever approved of by Congress; when this passes (if the primary essense of this pact is not done by Executive Order), look for the US to be "defending" Israel not only from Iran, but Russia as well.

Int'l Criminal Court Has No Jurisdiction to Investigate in Palestinian Territories - Netanyahu

The prime minister's statement came shortly after the International Criminal Court Prosecutor Fatou Bensouda said she would open a full investigation into "the situation in Palestine" as it had been determined that war crimes had been committed there.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has slammed the International Criminal Court's intention to probe the situation in Palestinian territories. According to Netanyahu, the ICC has no jurisdiction to conduct an investigation in Palestine.

"The court has no jurisdiction in this case. The ICC only has jurisdiction over petitions submitted by sovereign states. But there has never been a Palestinian state," Netanyahu said on Friday.

The court's prosecutor Fatou Bensouda earlier in the day said that she would not require the authorisation of the Pre-Trial Chamber to launch the investigation as Palestine had asked for a probe

Webmaster's Commentary:

OK, folks, that second to the last paragraph from this article caused our BED (Bovine Excrement Detector) to rekit, and die an horrific death.

Mr. Prime Minister Netanyahu, every time you let a whopper like this out of your mouth, we are going to have to bill you, personally, for its replacement.

And sir, just let me ask; if there was never a Palestinian state, how and why does Palestinian coinage exist, please?!?

The US Ambassador to the United Nations Security Council, Kelly Craft on Wednesday slammed United Nations Security Council Resolution 2334 issued in 2016, which demands Israel immediately halt settlement activity in the occupied Palestinian territories including East Jerusalem.

Speaking at the Security Council headquarters in New York, Craft described the resolution as “one-sided” and “unfairly critical of Israel”; reiterating the full support of the US administration for Israeli settlement expansion in the occupied Palestinian territories.

How Israel controls Palestinian bodies, both living and dead

Since 1967, hundreds of Palestinian bodies have been held by Israel: some in freezers, and others believed to be in the notorious “cemeteries of numbers”. Families of the martyrs have been trying to bring them back home.

Yet, the first demand of Palestinians is not for Israel to return our bodies; it is to stop killing us in the first place. Stop taking land, displacing families, incarcerating entire generations, and enabling a foreign population to take over what little remains of Palestinian cities, only to punish anyone who says “enough”.

Is the UK government set to define the boycott of Israel as 'antisemitic'?

One of the first bills to be introduced by Britain’s new Conservative government will reportedly stop "local authorities from boycotting individual companies", a move described as targeting the Palestinian-led boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS) movement.

The Conservative Party election manifesto did indeed pledge to “ban public bodies from imposing their own direct or indirect boycotts, disinvestment or sanctions campaigns against foreign countries”, on the grounds that such moves “undermine community cohesion”.

Bolivia: A coup for Israel too

Shortly after left-wing Bolivian President Evo Morales was ousted in a US-supported coup in November - disguised as a noble reaction to alleged electoral fraud - the self-appointed, fanatically right-wing Bolivian “interim” government announced the renewal of diplomatic relations with Israel.

These had been severed by Morales in 2009 during Israel’s Operation Cast Lead in the Gaza Strip, which killed some 1,400 Palestinians, including more than 300 children. Though Israel naturally cast itself as the singular victim of the affair, the ratio of Palestinian civilian to Israeli civilian deaths was 400:1.

During a subsequent Israeli-inflicted bloodbath in Gaza in 2014, this one by the name of Operation Protective Edge and entailing the slaughter of 2,251 Palestinians (including 299 women and 551 children), Morales denounced Israel as a “terrorist state” - a perfectly accurate assessment, given the circumstances and Israel’s track record.

A recent article by Philip Weiss on the Mondoweiss website lays out an argument that most liberal Jews, like Weiss, are hesitant to support, namely that Jewish power, and more to the point its money, as exercised through the so-called Israel Lobby in the United States and elsewhere, has been the principal enabling force behind the international pariah that the state of Israel has become.

York students demand ban on violent JDL

Following last month’s attacks against anti-racist activists at Canada’s York University, students are demanding that two extremist groups be banned from campus: the Jewish Defense League of Canada, and Herut, a Canadian affiliate of a far-right Israeli party.

This comes after the Toronto university bowed to pressure from right-wing politicians and Israel lobby groups and suspended the privileges of both Herut and campus group Students Against Israeli Apartheid (SAIA).

SAIA members were attacked as they protested a 20 November event which brought Israeli soldiers to their campus. They were then smeared as anti-Semites by Herut and JDL Canada.

Instead of taking action against the anti-Palestinian groups and protecting its students against such attacks, York’s administration proposed a mediation process between Herut and SAIA.

The US-NATO-Israel Sponsored Al Qaeda Insurgency in Syria. Who Was Behind the 2011 “Protest Movement”?

Almost nine years since the beginning of the war on Syria in March 2011, so-called “progressives” have supported the so-called “opposition”, which is largely made up of Al Qaeda affiliated mercenaries. A US-NATO led war of aggression is portrayed as a “civil war”.

President Bashar Al Assad is casually described as a dictator who is killing his own people. The millions of deaths resulting from US-NATO led wars are not an object of concern.

The anti-war movement died in the wake of the Iraq war (April 2003). Responsibility to Protect (R2P) and counterterrorism prevail.

The war on Syria started more than nine years ago in Daraa on the 17th of March 2011.

The following article first published in May 2011 examines the inception of the jihadist terrorist insurgency.

It recounts the events of March 17-18, 2011 in Daraa, a small border town with Jordan.

Trump’s Abominable, Reprehensible And Downright Tyrannical Executive Order

I’ll make this column short and to the point.

Trump's executive order—deceptively called “An Executive Order on Combating Anti-Semitism”—issued this past week, will empower the federal Department of Education to withhold funding to college campuses that do not squash anti-Israel rhetoric. In other words, it is now official government policy to deny college students and faculty members their Natural and constitutional right to criticize—especially and primarily if they criticize any and all things Israel. This will also doubtless include speech that supports Palestinian rights.

Trump also declared that the religion of Judaism is a nationality or ethnicity and is beyond criticism. Can you imagine the outcry if he had declared Christianity to be a nationality?

High Noon For Trump: The Impeachment Charade

The Trump deception has been one of the Jews’ most brilliant accomplishments. And it seems they’ve induced across the land a debilitating cognitive dissonance. “How can Trump possibly be a bad guy,” many across America are now asking, “if the likes of Nancy Pelosi can’t stand him?”

ARCH STANTON : Trump has just given Israel the international green light to do whatever it deems necessary to protect its interests in the Near East — and the Near East its getting nearer all the time. He has armed the Jewish House of Saud with nukes and other high tech weapons. Those nukes, combined with Israel’s nukes, make the Jews not only a monstrous regional threat, but a global menace as well.

Will Israel maritime gas platforms be Hamas’ next target?

With the increase in the frequency of Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip, there is Palestinian and Israeli increased Israeli and Palestinian talk of the resistance’s “target banks” against Israel. This is for the resistance to go beyond launching rockets at Israeli settlements in the Gaza envelope, which it has done in the past years, and targeting Israeli gas platforms off the shores of the Gaza Strip. This would cause Israel significant economic losses, as it earns $18 billion annually from the gas in the Mediterranean Sea.

The following lines identify the capabilities of the Palestinian resistance to attack Israeli oil installations in the Mediterranean, instead of attacking Israeli cities with rockets, although Hamas fired rockets towards these platforms in the 2014 war, how Israel will respond, what means Hamas will use to target the platforms: missiles, Drones, or sea mines, and whether Hamas aspires to get a share of the gas off the coast of Gaza?

Israel has killed 32 of my friends

Despite how quiet he was, Ibrahim could be very funny. When he cracked a joke, everyone in the room would laugh.

It took Ibrahim and my cousin approximately a week to paint my home. During their last day doing that job, we had a conversation about Israel’s major offensive against Gaza in the summer of 2014.

I was taken aback when Ibrahim told me that Israel had destroyed his newly built home that summer.

The 130,000 Syrians Israel Expelled From the Golan Heights in 1967 Have Been Completely Erased From History

The Druze who remain in the Golan regularly hold demonstrations where they fly the government red-white-black Syrian tricolor (not the green-white-black of the rebels), showcase portraits of Bashar al-Assad, and protest the Israeli support for the Sunni fundamentalist rebels.

Like the Druze in unoccupied Syria they are overwhelmingly pro-government. (The legendary Syrian commander Issam Zahreddine who defended Deir Ezzor against an ISIS siege for over 3 years was a Druze.) The article below wants to paint them as pro-rebel, which is not true (why would the Druze support a fundamentalist Islamist insurgency against a secular government??), other than that it’s a great piece.

Boris Johnson to pass bill making BDS illegal

The new Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Boris Johnson, is allegedly preparing to pass a bill which will outlaw advocacy for the Boycott Divestment and Sanctions Movement (BDS) against Israel, which will make it illegal for public bodies to engage with any group which participates in boycotts of the Israeli regime.

The story, which first surfaced in INews, has now caught wind in the Israeli press and is seen as another win for Israel to have come from Britain’s recent election, with Labor’s pro-Palestinian Jeremy Corbyn losing to his Conservative Party rival.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Wow, that didn't take long at all!!

What Current Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu wants from Western leaders, he gets, with a snap of his fingers.

And Boris, now we know... for whom you really work; the smear against Corbyn's party may well have been orchestrated directly from Tel Aviv, because Netanyahu understood that he would get every support possible from you he wanted, no matter how wrong-headed any decision he might have made could be.

And what do the Palestinians get from such actions?!?

Zero; zip; nada; absolutely nothing, except for more misery; more dislocation; and more deaths against innocent, unarmed protestors demonstrating, peacefully, against the apartheid under which they are living.

I would very much like to remind Johnson of the following statements by Anglican Bishop Desmond Tutu, regarding Israeli apartheid, and the actions taken against him, for not supporting Israel's position on its apartheid against Palestinians:

Nobel Laureate Desmond Tutu Banned From Campus Over Israel Criticism

Desmond Tutu: Israel guilty of apartheid in treatment of Palestinians

And believe me, this is a guy who knows apartheid, because he lived through it, in his own country!!! The Anglican church was very smart in ordaining him as Bishop, because the Boetha government couldn't touch him.

I had the opportunity to hear hear him, at a Los Angeles Episcopal Church, St. John's Episcopal, on Adams Boulevard, many years ago.

His passion for peace, not only for African South Africans, but for all South Africans, was nothing short of completely amazing.

Implausible Denials: The Crime at Jabal al Tharda. US-led Air Raid on Behalf of ISIS-Daesh Against Syrian Forces/By Prof. Tim Anderson Global Research, December 17, 2017

On 17 September 2016 a carefully planned US-led air raid on Jabal al Tharda (Mount Tharda), overlooking Deir Ezzor airport, slaughtered over 100 Syrian soldiers and delivered control of the mountain to DAESH / ISIS. After that surprise attack, the terrorist group held the mountain for almost a year, but did not manage to take the airport or the entire city. US-led forces admitted the attack but claimed it was all a ‘mistake’. However uncontested facts, eye witness accounts and critical circumstances show that was a lie. This article sets out the evidence of this crime, in context of Washington’s historical use of mercenaries for covert actions, linked to the doctrine of ‘plausible deniability’.

The Crumbling of America

In June of 2013 an Interstate bridge on a main commercial corridor between Seattle, Washington and Vancouver, Canada, collapsed and fell into the river below after being hit by a truck. This was not a high-speed collision; the truck simply bumped one of the main support pillars at low speed, but the weakened and dilapidated pillar broke from the strain and, without that extra bit of support, the entire bridge immediately collapsed. In prior examinations, the heavily-travelled bridge had not only been rated as functionally obsolete but structurally deficient and requiring replacement.

This is only one of thousands; the great majority of the physical infrastructure of the US is in a similar condition, involving roads, dams, bridges and more. More than 160,000 bridges in the US are officially categorized as dangerous, at risk of collapse, with such collapses now regularly occurring. (1) (2) (3)

Brain Dead Congress Doesn’t Realize It’s Trying to Finish Off NATO

After what can only be termed a terrible NATO Not Summit two weeks ago it was clear the alliance has serious fissures forming in its facade.

It seems that the depths of our Congress’ cravenness before the desires of Israel knows no bottom. Erdogan has been explicit in his antipathy for Benjamin Netanyahu’s continued regional provocations to eke out a win in Syria.

Erdogan, Putin and Rouhani in Iran all know that Trump doesn’t have the stomach or the stupidity for war. So they have allowed the political forces in the U.S. to over-commit to a policy they can’t back up.

The Russia/China/Iran axis has simply played the ultimate game of attrition, reading the economic and political tea leaves perfectly while executing a pan-Eurasian strategy of integration through disengagement from U.S. and U.K. financial institutions. That strategy has failed. Trump knows it, but his State Dept. and CIA, as well as those of the U.K., France and Germany, refuse to accept defeat.

ISRAEL CONTINUES TO CLAIM IT IS ‘THE GOOD GUY’

What we are experiencing at the moment is beyond all dirt, denunciation, false accusations and blows against freedom of speech. German Christian politicians and church leaders complain about the worldwide persecution that Christians are suffering from, but make no mention of the Christian Palestinians in illegally occupied Palestine / Gaza. Christians in the Gaza Strip will not be allowed to visit holy cities like Bethlehem and Jerusalem to celebrate Christmas there. Gaza Christians only receive permission from the occupiers to travel abroad, for example to Jordan via the Allenby Bridge, but no one is allowed to travel to the “Jewish State” or the occupied West Bank. As usual, the occupier regime put forward “security concerns” as the reason for the restrictions.

Israel wants $150bn compensation for Jews who left Arab countries

Israel is preparing to claim a total of $150 billion in compensation for the property of Jews who migrated from Arab countries to occupied Palestine, Israel Today has reported.

The process of estimating the property values started in 2002, the newspaper pointed out. It noted that the law to claim compensation for Arab Jews was passed by the Israeli parliament in 2010 as a condition of a regional peace deal; negotiations began with the Arab countries in 2017.

According to media reports, the compensation claimed will include assets from Iraq, Iran, Syria, Yemen, Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia and Libya. In January, Israel was reportedly planning to seek an estimated $250 billion from Arab countries after the government in Tel Aviv quietly conducted some research on the value of property and assets that the Jews left behind.

The spokesperson for the Centre, Riyad Al-Ashqar, explained that Palestinian detainees in all facilities suffer harsh conditions in the winter season, due to acute shortage of clothes, winter blankets, and heating devices, especially in prisons located in the desert areas — namely the Negev, Nafha, Beersheba, and Rimon. To provide a legal basis to defund, the administration is relying on title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which prohibits any discrimination based on race, color or national origin. Last year she was prevented from obtaining a permit to travel from the besieged Gaza Strip to the occupied West Bank through the Erez crossing.

Such disappointment and frustration are prevalent among Gaza's Christians.

On Thursday, a spokesperson for the Israeli Military Liaison Office with the Palestinians said that Palestinian Christians residing in Gaza could obtain permission to travel abroad, but that none of them would be allowed to enter Israel and the West Bank, where many sites sacred to Christians are located.

Basque firm must quit Israel’s apartheid railway

Workers, mayors and civil society groups are banding together in the Basque Country to oppose the participation of the local firm CAF in a project to expand Israel’s settlement railway in occupied East Jerusalem.

The project contravenes international law since it solidifies Israel’s grip on occupied Palestinian land. By participating CAF is contributing to serious violations of Palestinian human rights.

In August, a consortium of CAF and the Israeli infrastructure company Saphir was chosen by Israel’s finance ministry to expand the settlement railway project, known as the Jerusalem Light Rail (JLR).

CAF and Saphir won the $2 billion contract to extend the railway to more illegal Israeli settlements, particularly in East Jerusalem, and to strengthen transportation links between those settlements and West Jerusalem.

Former Spy Details Israel’s Main Motive Behind Epstein’s Sexual Blackmail Operation

Thus, Ben-Menashe argues, when Bill Clinton’s candidacy in the 1992 U.S. Presidential election became clear, efforts were made to target him via sexual blackmail and Jeffrey Epstein was chosen for that purpose. Bill Clinton was eventually blackmailed by the state of Israel and his administration was also targeted by Israeli espionage as part of the “Mega” spy scandal. Epstein’s involvement in the Clinton administration and his visits to the White House date back to Clinton’s first year in office. More information on the Epstein-Clinton relationship can be found in this MintPress report.

Palestinian ex-prisoners recall torture in Israeli detention

Samer, 44, was arrested on suspicion of involvement in an IED explosion that took place on August 23 near the illegal Israeli settlement of Dolev, northwest of Ramallah. The bomb killed 17-year-old Israeli girl Rina Shnerb and wounded her father and brother.

Three days later, Samer's lawyer was informed his client had been transferred to a hospital the previous day - in critical condition, unconscious, and on artificial respiration. He was also suffering from kidney failure and had 11 broken ribs, the lawyer said.

The Israeli Security Agency (ISA), known as Shin Bet, accused Samer of leading the group that carried out the bombing and was given legal permission to employ "extraordinary measures" in its interrogation, Israeli media reported. Amnesty International said the move "effectively sanctioned the use of methods amounting to torture".

Trump/Netanyahu: Israel, America and the rise of authoritarianism-lite

Like abortion and taxes, Benjamin Netanyahu’s Israel is one more flashpoint in America under Donald Trump. As millennials, minorities, women and liberals don’t readily cotton to the 45th president, their support for the Jewish state cannot be assumed. Trump Wants Criticism of Israel Equated with Anti-Semitism

Trump wants anti-Semitism redefined. An executive order perhaps already signed is all about stifling legitimate criticism of Israel.

It’s about wanting the Jewish state absolved of occupation, colonialism, and apartheid crimes against humanity.

Trump wants anti-Semitism redefined. An executive order perhaps already signed is all about stifling legitimate criticism of Israel.

It’s about wanting the Jewish state absolved of occupation, colonialism, and apartheid crimes against humanity.

“Officials say the order will broaden the federal government’s definition of anti-Semitism and instruct it to be used in enforcing laws against discrimination on college campuses.”

Henceforth, will advocacy for Palestinian rights and wanting Israel held accountable for denying them be criminalized — and not just on college campuses.

According to the NYT, Trump’s order “will effectively interpret Judaism as a race or nationality, not just a religion.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is engineered to have the most chilling effect possible on free speech, when it comes to criticizing Israel, and must be brought to the Supreme Court as case they will actually hear; additionally, it will cement home the fact to the Palestinian and Arab communities, that the US government cannot possibly be relied upon a an honest broker of peace treaties in the region.

Pompeo warns Iran of 'decisive response' if harm in Iraq

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Friday warned Iran of a "decisive" response if US interests are harmed in Iraq, after a series of rocket attacks on bases.

"We must... use this opportunity to remind Iran's leaders that any attacks by them, or their proxies of any identity, that harm Americans, our allies or our interests will be answered with a decisive US response," Pompeo said in a statement.

"Iran must respect the sovereignty of its neighbors and immediately cease its provision of lethal aid and support to third parties in Iraq and throughout the region," he said.

The United States has expressed mounting concern about the flurry of attacks on Iraqi bases used by US troops, several of which it has blamed on Iranian-backed Shiite paramilitary groups.

Two rocket attacks this week targeted a compound near Baghdad International Airport, which houses US troops, with an incident Monday wounding Iraqi troops.

Webmaster's Commentary:

There are so many possibilities for a false flag before the end of the year, that one hardly knows were to start; that being said, however, Iraq is certainly one of those places where a false flag against an American entity could be done, blamed on Iran, and off we would be going.

However, as someone who doesn't walk in the halls of power in DC, I must shudder at what appears a huge "gap of awareness" which makes itself known, when Secretary State Pompeo, hauls off with threats like these.

Has he not been made privy to the following article ( and the article was written in English; you didn't even have to read Russian to read i)t, and here is what it said:

Iran won't be alone, if the US attacks it. The statement was made by Zamir Kabulov, the Foreign Ministry’s special envoy for Asian countries including Iran, said at a Russian-Iranian policy forum in Moscow.

And I am stunned here; if I know about it as just a plain-Jane citizen of this country, why do you, Secretary Pompeo, apparently not know that this was said publicly by a Russian official?!?

And sir, were I you, I would take Kabulov at his word; and at the moment he made this declaration he was channeling Putin.

It has been said, that some people this close to Putin don't even FART without asking his permission.

Mr. Secretary, I am imploring you as politely as I can, please do not go to war with Iran, because it will, most likely mean war with Russia.

Please do not "get drunk on the cork" of any "victory is ours" scenarios,
being "curated" for you by any of our governmental agencies at the moment; the track record of the US government's having signed off on these concepts,
for at least the past 20 years, stinks with the wretched, fetid odor of a badly conjured, dart-board foreign policy, where the people who created these scenarios were pathologically incapable of seeing them through to their logical conclusion.

Israel bars Gaza’s Christians from visiting Bethlehem, Jerusalem at Christmas

Christians in the Gaza Strip will not be allowed to visit holy cities such as Bethlehem and Jerusalem to celebrate Christmas this year, Israeli authorities said on Thursday.

Gazan Christians will be granted permits to travel abroad but none will be allowed to go to Israel and the occupied West Bank, home to many sites holy to Christians, a spokeswoman for Israel’s military liaison to the Palestinians said.

Israel tightly restricts movements out of the Gaza Strip, territory controlled by militant group Hamas.

The spokeswoman said that following “security orders,” Gazans would be allowed to travel abroad via Israel’s Allenby Bridge border crossing with Jordan but not to visit cities in Israel or the West Bank.

Gaza has only around 1,000 Christians - most of them Greek Orthodox - among a population of 2 million in the narrow coastal strip.

Webmaster's Commentary:

One has to speculate if this is telegraphing that the IDF is planning some sort of "special mission" against these three key cities which are so important to the Christian faith and narrative, in order to create false flags in them, saying that it was the Palestinians who did such a thing, to get Christians generally annoyed with Palestinians as the IDF goes into Gaza with an alleged "countermeasure", to justify killing more innocent Palestinians.

Poland's Ruling Elite Want to Hand Over 30% of Residential Property to 'Holocaust' Survivors

For the 1.2 million Polish-Jews and their descendants living in Israel alone, there is a growing elite consensus that they are entitled to parts of Poland that they claim their ancestors used to own. Before WW2, Jews owned the most valuable real estate in the centers of major cities and towns, while Poles were concentrated in rural parts. Warsaw was 30% Jewish ... Today, international Jewry has abandoned communism for world capitalism, and is using Donald Trump's America to "strangle" us. Trump executive order marks culmination of deliberate strategy to stifle campus organizing for Palestinian rights

President Trump signed yesterday an Executive Order empowering the federal government to crack down on campus organizing for Palestinian rights under the guise of combating antisemitism.

“This is our message to universities: If you want to accept the tremendous amount of federal dollars that you get every year, you must reject antisemitism,” Trump stated during a White House Hanukkah reception which doubled as a signing ceremony.

But Trump’s Executive Order has nothing to do with combating the scourge of antisemitism, the revival of which he is greatly responsible for by stoking white supremacy. Instead, it is primarily designed to pressure universities to disallow students to boycott for Palestinian rights.

Trump Wants Criticism of Israel Equated with Anti-Semitism

Anti-Zionism and anti-Israel are unrelated to hostility and bias toward Jews.

Israel is a nation-state, Judaism a religion. Some of Israel’s fiercest critics are Jews, clearly not self-hating ones.

Calling Jewish state critics anti-Semitic is a long-ago discredited canard.

The same goes for criticizing Zionism, tyranny by another name. The ideology is extremist, undemocratic, hateful, ruthless, racist, destructive, and hostile to peace, equity and justice.

It’s contemptuous of fundamental legal, moral and ethical principles, Jews unacceptably considered a chosen people superior to others.

No US-Israel Defense Pact!

Imagine the American state being formally obliged to defend Israel no matter what. (It’s clear the US government has been informally, politically obliged since 1967, but Israeli officials have not wanted US forces in the country. Israel receives $3.8 billion a year in military assistance, an investment that US officials would not leave unattended if it were jeopardized.) This would be outrageous even if Israel confined its military actions purely to self-defense – the government should not pledge American lives to another country’s defense. But in fact, Israel is one of the most aggressive nations on earth. Over the decades it has initiated wars against neighboring countries, not to mention against the Palestinians, most recently in the Gaza Strip. Israel portrays itself as threatened existentially by Iran, but in truth, Israel has been threatening and acting against Iran for a couple of decades.

Donald Trump and Israel: When Does a ‘Passionate Attachment’ Threaten National Security?

In his Farewell Address, of 1796 America’s first president George Washington famously warned his fellow citizens that “…a passionate attachment of one nation for another produces a variety of evils. Sympathy for the favorite nation, facilitating the illusion of an imaginary common interest in cases where no real common interest exists, and infusing into one the enmities of the other, betrays the former into a participation in the quarrels and wars of the latter without adequate inducement or justification.”

In today’s United States, there is no more “passionate attachment” than that which exists with Israel. The tie that binds is assiduously cultivated by the media and the politically ambitious, so much so that the Jewish state is frequently referred to hyperbolically as America’s best friend and closest ally. But Israel, with its own regional interests driving its policies, is in reality neither a friend nor an ally.

A Recipe For Civil War

A Recipe For Civil War
There is a war between red states and blue states, between gun-right rubes and confiscating-jews.

In blue state California, (once the go-to state for free spirit creatures), people are leaving and fleeing in droves en route to red state Texas.

And New York ‘values’ aren’t keeping its people in, with more leaving the state than any other.

For when sovereignty is pressurized into slavery, and freedom of speech is maligned as a medium of ‘hate,’ then a recipe for civil war is a sure and settled fate.

Breaking up is hard to do.

But with repressive laws out of DC, and a coerced culture too, it’s time we bid this tyranny adieu.

Just say “Nullify.”

When Jews stopped being American

Zionists may imagine that this is to their advantage. For anti-Zionists, it is an example of what was foreseen and then experienced by Jews around the world as the political Zionist movement took root.

From Edwin Montagu to Rabbi Elmer Berger to American Jewish Committee presidents Joseph Proskauer and Jacob Blaustein, the conflation of the ethnic and faith identity of Judaism (already a difficult combination) to a nationality was seen as a long-acting poison.

Montagu wrote to his fellow UK Cabinet members in 1917 — when considering issuing the Balfour Declaration — that “Zionism has always seemed to me to be a mischievous political creed…”

Tom Friedman condemns Iran for shooting protesters, but finds it ‘easy’ to defend Israel for doing same

demonstrators since it began cracking down November 15.

The numbers are not much better from Israel’s violent response to the Gaza protests over the last 20 months. Human rights agencies have characterized Israel’s live-fire policy as a violation of humanitarian law. The United Nations found last March that Israel killed 183 civilians who posed no threat to Israel and wounded another 6000 people. Amnesty International said Israel was pursuing a deliberate policy of maiming civilians, causing untold physical and psychological damage, and called for a world-wide arms embargo on Israel. The casualties have included journalists and paramedics.

Those protests are aimed at breaking Israel’s 12 year siege of Gaza, which has rendered the strip unlivable, and granting Palestinians equal rights to Israeli Jews.

Backing two-state solution, Democrats deplore equal rights, deny the Nakba, and say Jews must never be a minority in Israel

n recent days Trump and the Republican Party have done their utmost to cast the Democrats as anti-Israel. In his speech to an Israel lobby group on Saturday night, Trump said Democrats were harboring the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions campaign (BDS). And last week when the Democratic majority in the House passed a resolution affirming the two-state solution and expressing mild criticism of the settlement project, Republicans lambasted Democrats as anti-Israel.

The Democrats are clearly worried about the charge. The party’s base is beginning to fracture on the Israel question. Polls show younger Democrats are highly supportive of the idea of conditioning aid to Israel; and three Democratic presidential candidates have said they are open to doing so. The House resolution specifically ruled out conditioning aid, saying the $3.8 billion we send Israel is “ironclad” at a “critical” moment in history, in Rep. Ted Deutch’s words.

‘King’ Trump lashes US Jews for not loving Israel enough

Rabid Zionist Donald Trump has proved once again that you can stand up in a room full of Jewish supporters and spew out anti-Semitic tropes with complete immunity as long as you give unconditional support to Israel. The US President, who earlier this year embraced the title “King of Israel”, has now accused American Jews of not “loving Israel enough.”

Addressing the Israeli American Council national conference in Florida, Trump first launched a blistering attack on the Democrat Congresswoman Ilhan Omar for what he called her “despicable rhetoric” about Israel, before unleashing a series of turbo-charged anti-Semitic tropes at his largely Jewish audience.

It also orders the department to adopt the working definition of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) of antisemitism when considering claims of antisemitic abuse.

Palestinian rights advocates have long rejected IHRA's definition, saying that it could be employed to censor speech critical of Israel's political policies.

Israel’s Case Against Human Rights Watch Reveals How Its Normalizing West Bank Land Theft

HRW claims that this is not true and that the organization does not call for the boycott of Israel. Republicans voted overwhelmingly Friday for Israeli apartheid in the West Bank.

They did so by voting against House Resolution 326 which backs the two-state solution and rejects Israeli annexation of the West Bank.

While the so-called two-state solution may be defunct, Republicans’ silence on what would replace it suggests they’re fine with Israel entrenching the apartheid system it has been establishing in the West Bank over the last five decades.

Just days after US President Donald Trump spewed vicious anti-Semitic rhetoric, Israel lobby groups are celebrating his executive order taking aim at supporters of Palestinian rights.

Israel says defense officials caught in major bribery case

Israel’s Justice Ministry said on Tuesday it plans to prosecute suspects involved in a “serious corruption affair” in one of the country’s defense bodies.

Most details of the case, including the names of the suspects, were unavailable because of a gag order.

But a statement by the ministry said public servants working in the unnamed defense body allegedly received millions in bribes from companies with the aim of promoting sales deals with Israel’s defense establishment.

The suspects are to be charged with bribery, fraud, breach of trust and money laundering, among others offenses, pending a hearing.

The announcement comes after the ministry said last week it would serve indictments for corruption charges in a $2 billion German submarine deal that roped in close associates of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, as well as the country’s former navy chief.

The justice ministry claims those accused in the submarine case personally benefited from the purchase.

Add Your Name: Tell Donald Trump to Stop Using Jews to Shut Down Free Speech

After a week of antisemitic speech, Trump is now signing an executive order to withhold money from college campuses that tolerate “anti-Israel” movements. This is not about keeping Jews safe. It’s just more antisemitism.

The order defines Judaism as a “nationality,” promoting the classically bigoted idea that American Jews are not, well, American.

Donald Trump cannot be trusted to define antisemitism for Jews. He incites deadly white nationalist violence against our communities. He calls us disloyal. When speaking to American Jews, he refers to Israel as “your country” because he believes we do not really belong here. Conflating criticism of the Israeli government with antisemitism is actually antisemitic because it implies that all Jews agree with, and are responsible for, Israel’s actions.

The indignation of the young Palestinians about their hopeless situation has consequently dammed – even after they had long ago noticed that their political leaders did nothing for them, but only appeased and arranged with the occupiers, and more or less under the occupation left their country to their fate. White Helmets Boost Presence in Idlib, Potentially Preparing a Provocation - Russian Special Envoy

Syria Civil Defence, better known as the White Helmets, is a non-governmental organisation registered in the United Kingdom. The group and its activities are widely endorsed by Western governments. Damascus, however, accuses the organisation of extremism and propaganda dissemination.

The White Helmets are ramping up their presence in Syria's Idlib, potentially readying a provocation, Russian President's Special Envoy Aleksandr Lavrentyev, said on Wednesday at a press conference following talks in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan.

Lavrentyev added that Moscow is calling on all its partners to carefully assess the information about the potential provocation.

Stage-Managing the Pensacola Naval Base Shooting: Mollycoddling the Face of Evil

As should be expected, the government is attempting to stage-manage the shooting at the Pensacola Naval Base. The Pentagon said sailors killed by a Saudi student reportedly angry over the serial murder of Muslims by the US government “showed exceptional heroism and bravery in the face of evil.”

The alleged shooter, Mohammed Alshamrani, shot dead by police, was a Saudi national said to be enrolled in pilot training the Florida naval base. It is the same naval base linked to the supposed 9/11 hijackers.

Sources told ABC News that investigators are working to determine if the shooter was acting out because of religious or ideological reasons or if there was some sort of problem or hostility that developed in the course of the training at Pensacola.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I have a great appreciation for Nimmo's work, and link to it frequently.

But I think Nimmo may have missed the mark in this article, and let me explain why, and I may tread on more than a few toes, but here it goes;

As long as many innocent Middle Eastern citizens get gunned down on a daily basis, to support US hegemony and the US government continues to give Israel an incredible pass in its pathological inability to "work well with others" in the region, it creates, in and of itself, the potential for this kind instability within this country, allowing violent reactions to these behaviours, to happen.

And please, don't get me started on the US enabling Saudi war crimes in Yemen; I will never finish this post if I go there.

It is exceedingly difficult to "grow up", geopolitically, and discover, surprise, surprise, that the country in which you hold citizenship, has been perpetrating war crimes for resources, for a very, very long time.

I can never, ever condone this type of behaviour from the shooter, but understand how it came about.

I want all who are so inclined, to offer prayers for all who died, and the family and friends of those people, no matter the name of their faith, be they be my Christian, Jewish, Buddhist, or Muslim brothers and sisters who want peace.

And please, as the winter festivals of Christmas and Passover approach, let us, collectively, watch out for each others' backs.

As everyone knows who reads this blog,I am a Christian pacifist activist, and I abhor violence, and never advocate it, at all.

But that being said, that being said, I am very concerned at the US's actions in the Middle East, and beyond, which can be characterized by:

1. Destabilizing what are perceived as "anti US governments", so that US-centric governments can replace them.

2. Expropriating resources to which the US has no moral right, making sure that our "friendly companies" are making the profits from these resources, which rarely - if ever - go back to the people of the country of their origin.

3. Insuring that these resources are only sold in US dollars.

We, in this country, need to have a reasoned, honest, and difficult, conversation, about how we behave toward the rest of the world, and how that behaviour might very well affect our collective safety in the future.

Do people randomly shoot at people from Lichtenstein?!? No.

Do people randomly shoot at people from Andorra?!? No.

Do people randomly shoot at people from Monaco?!? No.

And why?!? Yes, these are small countries, with minor economic clout; but they make deals, rather than wage wars, to get what they want; and that, my friends, is the difference.

Money, Power, and Turf: Winning the Middle East Media War at Any Cost

Of the 180 countries classified by Reporters Without Borders’ annual report on press freedom, seven Middle Eastern countries are listed at the bottom 10% category of the world’s worst violators.

In 2018, Israel, which often prides itself on being "the only democracy in the Middle East", ranked 88th, a hardly shocking realization, considering its constant targeting, killing, wounding and arresting of Palestinian journalists. The Palestinian Authority achieved an even worse rank, at 137th place. It is telling that not a single Middle Eastern country has made it to the top 30% rank.

In countries like Egypt, Libya, Syria, and Yemen, where independent monitoring of government behavior is almost entirely absent, hundreds of journalists simply disappear in the black hole of brutal prison systems – malnourished, medically neglected, and routinely tortured.

Netanyahu demands US backing of Jordan Valley 'annexation plan' after Washington denies he ever spoke of it with Pompeo

The embattled Prime Minister wants Washington to approve of Israel's further expansion into the Jordan Valley, just days after he urged Donald Trump not to miss a rare chance to back Tel Aviv's territorial.

Benjamin Netanyahu, who fiercely fights for re-election, believes that "the time has come to extend Israeli sovereignty over the Jordan Valley," a swath of land spanning between the occupied West Bank and neighboring Kingdom of Jordan. On their part, Israel's closest ally should give a final nod to the move.

"I want American recognition of our sovereignty in the Jordan Valley. This is important," he bluntly told an event set up on Sunday by Israel's Makor Rishon newspaper. As part of the proposed annexation, all Jewish settlements in the area would become part of Israel, he insisted.

Webmaster's Commentary:

With more charges of corruption heaped upon his attorney, Netenyahu is even more of a wounded geopolitical animal than he was before the charges became public.

And Mr. President, I do believe that you have given quite enough of what Bibi Netanyahu has "demanded" of you this last year;m it is well high time to see how much of that plays into your "America First" campaign strategy for 2020.

Su-35 in Action: Russian Air Force’s Elite Intercept Israeli Jets Over Syria

The Russian Air Force first deployed Su-35 ‘4++ generation’ air superiority fighters to Syria in early 2016 - as part of wider efforts to strengthen anti aircraft capabilities in the region in response to the Turkish downing of an Russian Su-24 strike fighter over the country in November the previous year.

What Have the US and Protesters in Lebanon Achieved over Iran and Its Allies?

For several weeks now, much of the Lebanese population has turned on the country’s traditional political leaders and wrought havoc on the corrupt domestic political system. Those who have ruled the country for decades have offered little in the way of reforms, have paid little attention to the infrastructure, and done little or nothing to provide job opportunities outside the circle of their clients. The protestors were also driven into the street by the US measures strangling the Lebanese economy and preventing most of the 7-8 million expatriates from transferring financial support (around $8 billion per year) to their relatives back home. This is how the US administration has conducted its policy in the Middle East in its failed attempt to bring Iran and its allies to their knees.

Russian fighter jets have intercepted Israeli warplanes that were flying over southern Syria, media reports say.

According to Russian publication Avia.Pro, Russia’s warplanes intercepted the Israeli warplanes that had been seeking to attack the T-4 Airbase in Syria's western province of Homs last week.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I have wondered just how long Putin will put up with this nonsense, before he does something substantial; at the moment, he seems to be content with deflecting Israeli bombs, which were intended for targeting Syria.

But I cannot believe that he will not take a harder stance, at some point in the near future, against Israeli government impudence in this area.

‘The biggest thing you did for Israel’ was breaking Iran deal — Adelson tells Trump

Donald Trump’s speech to the Israeli American Council on Saturday night in the presence of his biggest donors, Sheldon and Miriam Adelson, has caused some shock waves. Largely because he referred to Jewish wealth. Here are some surprises from the speech.

The biggest thing Trump did for Israel was breaking the Iran deal, per Sheldon Adelson:

I said to Sheldon, “What do you think was bigger? … Israel and the embassy going in, and it became Jerusalem, the capital of Israel? Or the Golan Heights [recognition as Israeli territory]?” He said, “Neither.” I said, “What do you mean ‘neither,’ Sheldon?” He said, “The biggest thing you did for Israel was breaking up and terminating the horrible, one-sided, catastrophic deal that was made by President Obama.” (Applause.) Right?

Israel soldiers shoot Palestinians on the way to work

Five Palestinian workers have been injured after Israeli soldiers opened fire on them in the early hours of this morning near the separation wall in the occupied northern West Bank city of Tulkarem.

Israeli soldiers manning the checkpoint shot tear gas into the large crowd who were attempting to get to work, causing dozens of others to suffocate from excessive tear gas inhalation.

According to the official Palestinian news agency Wafa, the five wounded victims were rushed to the Thabet Government Hospital in Tulkarem. Medics confirmed the casualties were shot towards their lower extremities and described their situation as “moderate.”

Meanwhile, Israeli soldiers situated near the gate through the Israeli Annexation Wall at Dahr Al-Abed, southwest of Jenin, shot and wounded a young man from the Palestinian village of Arabeh.

The Palestinian was identified as Saif Iyad Wajih Al-Ardah.

It’s not just Muslims threatened by Israeli groups churning far-right hatred

Last week, a Guardian investigation traced a network of Facebook accounts fuelling far-right Islamophobic pages around the world to Israel. Journalists at the UK daily uncovered a plot to take over some of Facebook’s largest far-right pages in an attempt to foment hatred towards Islam and Muslims while fostering support for Israel, in a report titled Inside the hate factory.

As many as 21 of the of the biggest far-right Facebook pages churning out hatred of Muslims at an industrial scale were tracked to “a mysterious Israeli-based group.” Thousands of coordinated fake news posts per week were being produced and circulated to millions of followers around the world.

Major concerns over foreign interference were highlighted in the report published as part of the Guardian’s “transparency project.” It found that messages that were being spread as part of a covert plot included those linked to right-wing terror groups.
