Worship God By Nakba’: Jerusalem march celebrates Israeli occupation with messianic fervor

The Muslim Quarter of Jerusalem’s Old City was cleared of its Palestinian inhabitants on the eve of the Ramadan holiday, June 5, to make way for a flag procession by Jewish religious nationalists, celebrating Israel conquering the eastern half of the city 49 years earlier.

Store owners, street merchants, and shoppers preparing for that evening’s celebratory feast were driven out of the lanes that fell along the route chosen by march organizers and approved by Israel’s Supreme Court. From a safe distance behind police barricades, Palestinian residents of Jerusalem watched silently as ultra-nationalist Jews paraded through the quarter, singing songs of praise to Yahweh and calling for the ethnic cleansing of non-Jews.

Tens of thousands of Israelis took hours to stream through the monumental Damascus Gate and weave their way through the alleys of the Muslim Quarter, eventually reaching their final destination, the holy Western Wall plaza, where they were treated to musical performances and a series of speeches by top religious and political officials.

Israel Just Cut Off Water to Palestine During Ramadan Leaving Tens of Thousands Thirsty

By Matt Agorist

Since 1967, Israel has drastically limited the amount of water flowing to the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. Israelis, including settlers, consume five times more water than Palestinians in the West Bank, 350 liters per person per day in Israel compared with 60 liters per Palestinian per day in the West Bank.

However, during the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, Israel has cut off nearly all water flow to the region. According to a report in Al Jazeera, Mekorot, the main supplier of water to Palestinian towns and cities, siphoned off water supplies to the municipality of Jenin, several Nablus villages and the city of Salfit and its surrounding villages.

Ayman Rabi, the executive director of the Palestinian Hydrology Group, told Al Jazeera on Tuesday that in some areas people had not received water for more than 40 days...

Israel cuts water supplies in West Bank amid heat and Ramadan

‘Israel has cut water supplies to major areas in the north of the occupied West Bank amid sweltering heat and the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan.

Reports on Wednesday pointed to the move by the Israeli water authority Mekorot, which has affected tens of thousands of Palestinians.

They listed the targeted areas as the municipality of Jenin, several villages in the Nablus area, and the city of Salfit and its surrounding villages.

Israel absolves colonel who shelled clinic to “honor” soldier

The Israeli army has decided not to indict a colonel who ordered the shelling of a clinic in Gaza City’s Shujaiya neighborhood to “honor” a soldier who had been killed by sniper fire.

Instead, the senior officer, Nerya Yeshurun, will merely be reprimanded, a penalty that does not preclude promotions.

In May 2015, The Electronic Intifada revealed a recording of Yeshurun instructing his unit to shell the clinic on 23 July 2014, five days after Israel launched its ground invasion of Gaza.

Israel's Silent Allies Are Its Worst Enemy

By now anyone even vaguely aware of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict has heard the phrase ''the new anti-Semitism.'' It is a clever propaganda piece aimed at anyone who dares criticize Israel for its illegal occupation of the West Bank and its continued brutalization of Palestinians in Gaza.

But in the space of two days, new critics emerged from within the highest positions of Israel state power. Moshe Ya'alon -- until recently the Israeli Defence Minister -- and Major General Yair Golan, the Israeli army's deputy chief of staff, confirmed what many of Israel's most vociferous (and vilified) critics have been saying for years: that Israel is heading down the road of extremism and racism.

Golan issued a warning that linked attitudes and actions in pre-war Germany with trends in Israel today. ''It's scary to see horrifying developments that took place in Europe begin to unfold here,'' he said.

Choosing to speak in San Diego, home base of the U.S. Pacific Fleet, on a platform draped with 19 American flags and preceded by half an hour of military marching music, Hillary Clinton was certain of finding a friendly audience for her celebration of American “strength”, “values” and “exceptionalism”. Unit 8200: Israel’s cyber spy agency

This was a recent graduation ceremony for Magshimim (which roughly translates as “fulfilment”), the three-year after-school programme for 16 to 18-year-old students with exceptional computer coding and hacking skills. Magshimim serves as a feeder system for potential recruits to Unit 8200, the Israeli military’s legendary high-tech spy agency, considered by intelligence analysts to be one of the most formidable of its kind in the world. Unit 8200, or shmone matayim as it’s called in Hebrew, is the equivalent of America’s National Security Agency and the largest single military unit in the Israel Defence Forces.

It is also an elite institution whose graduates, after leaving service, can parlay their cutting-edge snooping and hacking skills into jobs in Israel, Silicon Valley or Boston’s high-tech corridor. The authors of Start-up Nation, the seminal 2009 book about Israel’s start-up culture, described 8200 and the Israeli military’s other elite units as “the nation’s equivalent of Harvard, Princeton and Yale”.

The latest attempt of the Zionist lobby in Canada to shut down attempts to organize peaceful pressure against the state of Israel’s systematic violations of international law came at what must have seemed an opportune moment. Most of the files should have been accessible after 15 years, with the most top-secret documents locked away for up to 70 years. In many cases, Akevot says, the classified status of documents has expired, but they have still not been made public. Reasons for denial of access are rarely given.

In other instances, documents that were already declassified – some of them decades ago – have been re-sealed and are now unavailable.

Despite the mounting secrecy, historic war crimes are still coming to light.

FLASHBACK - The Ringworm Scandal: When Israeli Doctors Killed Tens of Thousands of Arab Children

But unlike here, Israel allowed one senior health official, Dr. Chaim Sheba, to conduct a massive program of unnecessary medical treatments, at enormous expense, which actually killed many of the victims. At that time, many children developed ringworm, a non-lethal condition of fungal origin which affected the scalp. Unlike in other countries, 100,000 Jewish (and Palestinian) Arab children were irradiated in order to treat the condition. While medical protocol of the day directed that no technician receive a dose higher than .5 Roentgen, those treated could received a higher dose. A lethal dose was considered 200 Roentgen (R). The children treated received individual doses of 350R. Sometimes they received two doses (for a total of 600R). 6,000 of the victims died within the first year or so after treatment. To this day, many of the remaining victims suffer cancers, epilepsy, infertility and other brain disorders.

The Democratic President Barack Obama has been very kind to the most right-wing Israeli government in history. Attacks on BDS websites linked to Israel

New evidence indicates Israel may be directly involved in attacks on the websites of the Palestinian BDS National Committee and other organizations supporting Palestinian rights.

The report came just days after a senior Israel lobby official indicated that Israel’s previously announced plans to fight the growing boycott, divestment and sanctions movement online were already being implemented.

The online security service eQualit.ie analzyed six major attacks on the bdsmovement.net website in February and March this year.

These distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks involve flooding a website with traffic generated by botnets, overwhelming the site and making it inaccessible to legitimate users. Such attacks can last hours or sometimes days.

PLO Protests Israel to Chair UN Committee

Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) Executive Committee member Hanan Ashrawi slammed on Wednesday a decision to nominate Israel to chair a United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) legal committee as “asking the wolf to guard the sheep.” “It is ironic that Israel, a state that continues to breach international law and conventions, international humanitarian law and countless UN resolutions, is being nominated to head a legal committee that aims to promote international law and protect basic human rights and freedoms,” Ashrawi said in a statement. By nominating Israel, Ashrawi added, the WEOG bloc was “making a mockery of the international legal system and rewarding Israel for its flagrant violations of international law and acts of collective punishment and violence.” The Palestinian official further called on the regional bloc to withdraw its nomination of Israel, and to “hold it accountable for its persistent violations of international law and human rights.”

In meeting with Orthodox, Trump reveals Israel advisers: His Jewish lawyers

NEW YORK (JTA) – There were a few things Donald Trump made clear when he met Thursday with a select group of Jewish reporters, almost all of them Orthodox, at his corporate offices in Manhattan.

Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly was the one who initiated Wednesday’s one-on-one powwow with Trump to mend fences, not him. He’s a great friend of Israel. He has many Orthodox Jewish friends, including his chief lawyer, Jason D. Greenblatt. And he considers himself a very loyal boss.

But in a 20-minute question-and-answer session that touched on religious liberty in the workplace, U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East and federal education tax credits, Trump offered scant details.

On some substantive policy questions, the Republican front-runner for president didn’t answer at all, instead delegating the question to Greenblatt, a real estate attorney from Teaneck, New Jersey — one of two people he said he’d appoint as his White House Israel policy advisers.

He has suggested that the United States should consider ditching Riyadh because Washington is increasingly getting less dependent on overseas oil.

Flashback: USS Liberty veterans' letter to Netanyahu, Memorial Day 2011

On June 8, 1967 the USS Liberty was cruising in the Mediterranean in International waters ordered to monitor the Israeli-Arab war. In the morning the ship was circled a dozen times by low flying Nord propeller "boxcars" at mast height with Israeli designation. The planes flew at mast height; the men on the ship could see the teeth of the pilots as they smiled. They waved at them. The ship was flying a 4’ x 7’ American flag; it stood straight out on a clear, breezy day. The ship had large letter designation on the bow GTR-5. The attack by unmarked Israeli planes (Israel says the attack was an accident – the ship was an Egyptian horse carrier – less than 1/2 the size of the USS Liberty) commenced in the afternoon in International waters. After the attack with cannon, rockets, napalm and torpedo fire; the torpedo boats came back and machine gunned the life rafts as they were thrown overboard (a war crime according to International Law). 34 men were killed and 171wounded (out of a crew of 291) this day by the Israelis. The men on board the ship call it murder. Captain Ward Boston was given one week to conduct an investigation of the attack. Before he died Ward Boston signed an affidavit stating that the attack on the USS Liberty was deliberate.

The Evolution of The War on Terror - An Israeli Mega-Fraud

After 14-and-a-half years of the War on Terror the U.S. has spent trillions of dollars, waged war across the Middle East and North Africa, and destroyed the lives of millions of people, many of them American. At least seven nations have been devastated under the guise of fighting terrorism: Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Libya, Sudan, Yemen, and Somalia. In spite of all the money spent and lives lost, more people are dying from terrorism than ever, particularly in the nations where the War on Terror has been waged. It is not really a war against terrorism, but a "War of Terror" in which terrorism, mostly false-flag operations, plays the key role.

All of the indications point to the War on Terror going down as the biggest boondoggle or criminal scam in history, yet no one running for the highest office in the land is calling for it to come to a screeching halt. Why not?

Because the bankers run the world, and war is the best thing for them. Not only does it provide more profits for them but more importantly it divides people. What can divide people more than killing each other?”

Christopher Bollyn: How Israel Created the Fiend for the War on Terror

The War on Terror is essentially an Israeli war strategy. It was first promoted on the world stage by Benjamin Netanyahu and Menachem Begin (of the terrorist Likud party) at the Jerusalem Conference hosted by the Netanyahu Institute in July 1979.

According to the War on Terror doctrine advocated by Netanyahu, "Islamic terrorists" attack Israel because it is a Western state with Western values. The West, Netanyahu says, is the real target so the U.S. must lead the West in waging a global War on Terror to destroy Islamic terrorists and the regimes that support them. This is exactly what the United States has done since 9/11, at incredible expense to its own population, leaving a trail of devastated nations in its wake.

The Israeli construct was designed to get the U.S. to destroy the enemies of the Zionist state. The Israelis developed the War on Terror construct and then created the Islamic opponent, al Qaida, to serve as the antithesis – the virulent enemy of the West. The real purpose of al Qaida, and its subsequent iterations like ISIS, is to be a moving target used to destabilize and destroy sovereign countries, like Syria, while sustaining the illusion of an Islamic antithesis, posing a mortal threat to the security of the West. The Zionist-controlled media is the essential element in selling the fraudulent War on Terror to the public.

Film Review: ‘Occupation Of The American Mind’ Unravels Israel’s Propaganda War In US

While rage was building against Israel during that summertime bloodbath, in the United States the story was far different. The American people, Waters says, held firm in their support for the bombing of Gaza. The much beloved talking point that “Israel has a right to defend itself,” one that became a kind of religious mantra during that war and those before it, is explored from the very start of the film.

With help from Peter Hart, of Fair Media Watch, Yousef Munayyer, executive director of The U.S. Campaign to End The Israeli Occupation, and others, the film deconstructs the establishment media’s propaganda efforts. Yousef Munayyer argues that when we examine the formula that mainstream media outlets follow we find Israeli spokespeople are over-represented when compared to Palestinian spokespeople by a margin of 3 to 1. So when Israel is discussed, we are inundated with commentary from officials, who propagate in support of Israel’s use of violence.

Religious Extremists Waging a Quiet Revolution in Israel

In a surprise move, Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu last week forced out his long-serving defense minister, Moshe Yaalon. As he stepped down, Mr Yaalon warned: “Extremist and dangerous elements have taken over Israel.”

He was referring partly to his expected successor: Avigdor Lieberman, leader of the far-right Yisrael Beiteinu party, whose trademark outbursts have included demands to bomb Egypt and behead disloyal Palestinian citizens.

But Mr Yaalon was also condemning extremism closer to home, in Mr Netanyahu’s Likud Party. Mr Yaalon is to take a break from politics. With fitting irony, his slot is to be filled on Likud’s backbenches by Yehuda Glick, a settler whose goal to destroy Jerusalem’s Al Aqsa mosque and replace it with a Jewish temple has the potential to set the Middle East on fire.

Israeli commentators pointed out that, with Mr Lieberman’s inclusion, the government will be the most extreme in Israel’s history – again.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This move to the right in Israeli politics should concern anyone who believes that a reasonable peace, negotiated in good faith, between the Palestinians and Israelis, is the only way to avoid more brutal conflict in the region.

The possibilities for peace and social justice for Palestinians are not looking terribly bright right now.

Clinton campaign is ‘nervous’ Sanders will push ‘divisive’ battle over Democratic platform on Israel

Remember Hillary Clinton’s hard-right Israel positions stated again and again, including at AIPAC in March: She will invite Netanyahu to the White House in the first month; she will take Israel relationship to “the next level,” whatever that is; she will fight the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement hammer and tongs and working with Republicans to do so; and she said that Donald Trump has “no business being president,” because he has pledged neutrality on the Israel Palestine question, and an American president must never be neutral on Israel.

Then Bernie Sanders pulled the rug out from under her in that “contentious” April 14 debate in NY, saying that Netanyahu is not always right and that Israel used disproportionate force against Gaza in 2014, when it killed 500 children, and the audience cheered. They cheered because this is the Democratic base’s position, fairness toward Palestinians.

We’ve said again and again here that Israel can divide the Democrats, grassroots versus establishment, and it should divide the Democrats, it’s that important an issue.

Why I am a bit wary when sports networks start speaking for the 'Holocaust industry'

How can you tell when "remembering" horrible events is being twisted to defend the status quo and support the powerful against the weak? When a sports network airs a Nazi Holocaust-themed show.

Last week TSN ran a six-minute video feature about Hank Rosenbaum, a Polish Jew whose life was turned upside down when German troops invaded 77 years ago. The sports angle for TSN's "Yom HaShoah, the international day of remembrance for the more than 6 million Jews who died in the Holocaust" commemoration, was that Rosenbaum became a hockey fan when he arrived in Toronto six decades ago. The sports network showed him watching his 10-year-old grandson's house league game.

While the Rosenbaum story was horrifying and more socially meaningful than TSN's typical fare, does it really represent a concern for human rights by the broadcaster?

Israeli academic to use cash prize to help Palestinians

A professor who won the Israel Prize - considered one of the country's highest honours - has pledged to donate his cash prize to an Israeli group dedicated to helping Palestinians.

American-born Israeli David Shulman, a professor of Asian studies at the Hebrew university in Jerusalem who won the award for academic work, said he would donate the $20,000 prize to Ta'ayush - or Living together - an organisation he helped to found that advocates for Palestinians.

Shulman was given the award this week as part of Israel's Independence Day celebrations, an anniversary referred to by Palestinians as al-Nakba, or "the catastrophe".

On Jewish projection...

The Israeli fear of being thrown into the sea is a projection.

The Israelis are afraid of being pushed into the sea because they themselves pushed the Palestinians into the sea (picture above). The Israelis tend to attribute their own genocidal inclinations to Arabs (in particular) and Goyim (in general).

‘Jewish fear,’ as such, is self-inflicted -- the more brutal the Israelis are, the more fearful they become of the possibility that the Palestinians may be equally murderous. Similarly, the more the Jew hates the 'goy,' the more the Jew is mortified by the possibility that the goy may also express some animosity in return.

Jewish fear better be grasped as a war against terror within. Jews are too often tormented and haunted by their own racism and supremacy which they attribute to others by means of projection..

Secret Meetings Between Israel, Saudi Officials Reveal Close Relationship, Mutual Interests

As Murtaza Hussain wrote for the Intercept in his article “Israel’s Clandestine Alliance With Gulf Arab States Is Going Public,”

In 2009, a U.S. State Department diplomatic cable gave one of the first glimpses of a burgeoning alliance between Israel and the Arab states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). The cable quoted Israeli Foreign Ministry official Yacov Hadas saying, “the Gulf Arabs believe in Israel’s role because of their perception of Israel’s close relationship with the United States,” adding that GCC states “believe Israel can work magic.”

Israel and the Gulf states also shared an interest in countering what they saw as rising Iranian influence in the Middle East. So while the two sides sparred in public — Israel’s “Cast Lead” military operation had just claimed more than 1,400 lives in the Gaza Strip and was condemned by Saudi Arabia, in a letter to the United Nations, as “fierce aggression” — they enjoyed “good personal relations” behind closed doors, Hadas said, according to one cable. Hadas reportedly added that the Gulf Arabs were still “not ready to do publicly what they say in private.”

On the Misuse Anti-Semitism - An Analysis by Lawrence Davidson

The Zionists have declared that there is no difference between the State of Israel and the worldwide community of Jews and therefore, if you are opposed to Israel you are anti-Semitic. This identification of Israel and the Jews en masse is historically, demographically, and certainly religiously false. But no matter, the Zionists shout this redefinition loudly and endlessly. And, by backing their claim with political pressure and a lot of money, they have managed to get it accepted in some Western political circles. This, then, is what constitutes the misuse for political purposes of a dangerous racial prejudice.

Bleak Gaza War Report Shows How Next Conflict Will Begin

A careful reading of the 66-page draft of the State Comptroller’s Report into 2014’s Operation Protective Edge paints a depressing picture. Naturally, the political arena is preoccupied with the question of which members of the political leadership will come out badly in the report and how the report’s conclusions may affect their futures. But anyone interested in the way decisions are made in Israel – and even more so, in the quality of the decisions themselves – will emerge very worried after reading this report.

Not only does the draft report point to an inherent weakness in the way Israeli policies are made in general, and with regard to Gaza in particular. At times, it seems to predict exactly how Israel will slide into the next round of fighting with Hamas. As the exchange of blows in and around the Gaza Strip last week demonstrated, that outcome may not be far away.

On IDF Brutality and the Meaning of the Holocaust

In a speech last week, Major General Yair Golan, the Israeli military's deputy chief of staff, said the Holocaust should prompt Israelis to reflect"deeply" about their own society.

"If there is anything that frightens me in the remembrance of the Holocaust, it is discerning nauseating processes that took place in Europe in general, and in Germany specifically back then, 70, 80 and 90 years ago, and seeing evidence of them here among us in the year 2016," said the Israeli military leader.

Some Israeli right wing politicians didn’t like Major General Golan’s statement. PM Benjamin Netanyahu denounced him yesterday. Education Minister Naftali Bennett, called on Golan to correct his comments or be seen as “comparing Israeli soldiers to Nazis.” Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked, said Golan was "a little confused" and that his statement reflected "a lack of understanding, if not a disrespect of the Holocaust.”

On the misuse of anti-Semitism

Lawrence Davidson says the charge of anti-Semitism is being improperly exploited for political purposes, namely to bludgeon criticism of Israel, most recently by British Zionists intent on silencing pro-Palestinian activists and critics of Israel.

Once, most Jews viewed Israel as the anti-Semite’s best friend

Jonathan Cook examines the symbiotic relationship between Zionism and anti-Semitism, and argues that recognising the racial roots of this might allow us to understand modern Israel better, and why it seems incapable of extending a hand of peace to the Palestinians.

The Spirit Of Nelson Mandela In Palestine: Is His Real Legacy Being Upheld?

I had mixed feelings when I learned that Palestine has erected a statue of Nelson Mandela, the iconic South African anti-Apartheid leader. On the one hand, I was quite pleased that the unmistakable connection between the struggles of Palestinians and South Africans is cemented more than ever before. On the other hand, I dreaded that rich, corrupt Palestinians in Ramallah are utilizing the image of Mandela to acquire badly-needed political capital.

Will the Democratic Establishment Continue to Defy Its Base's Growing Support for Palestinian Human Rights?

Hillary Clinton has staked her presidential candidacy on her “unbreakable bond” with right-wing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, recently telling AIPAC supporters she intends to crack down on campus campaigners for Palestinian human rights.

But now, a new poll of 2,008 U.S. adults indicates that those within the Democratic Party angling to prove their allegiance to Israel’s right-wing government are failing to keep up with shifts taking place within their own base, where young people and self-identified progressives are showing increasing solidarity with Palestinians.

'Israeli annexation bombshell imminent'

The Israeli occupiers of the Palestinian lands deem the West Bank as “liberated land,” saying formal annexation is only a matter of time.

Webmaster's Commentary:

"We liberated those lands from their rightful owners, so we get to keep them ... and the Golan ... and the Sinai. All of it. And if you object then you are just a filthy Jew-hating anti-Semite who wants Hitler to come back and gas Jewish babies in the ovens!" -- Nodding Yahoo

#InIsrael ~~ A DAY OF SELECTIVE MOURNING

At 8 P.M. tomorrow evening sirens will sound throughout Israel. Traffic will come to a complete halt as Israelis stand in silence for one minute to honour and remember their fallen soldiers and victims of terrorism. This will be followed by ceremonies at military cemeteries and government institutions all evening and all of the next day until sundown.

Who will stand with me to honour and remember the hundreds of Palestinian children and women killed by Israeli soldiers and zioterrorists?

Who will stand with me to honour the memory of Democracy itself in Israel??
