Navy sends destroyers to Black Sea to ‘desensitize’ Russia

The Navy has deployed the guided-missile destroyer Carney to join the destroyer Ross in the Black Sea in a move that U.S. military officials told CNN is intended to “desensitize” Russia to the presence of American military assets in the strategically important region.

The deployment of the Carney marks the first time in four years that two American destroyers have operated in the Black Sea outside of scheduled exercises. The move comes as Russia continues to militarize Crimea, the peninsula it seized from Ukraine in 2014.

In recent years, the U.S. and NATO have accused Russia of sending troops and military hardware to Crimea, and there are now reports that submarines have been added to the mix.

Nevertheless, U.S. and NATO officials have insisted that they are not playing tit-for-tat with the Russians.

Risking Major Escalation, Trump Weighs Killing Of Russian Fighters In Syria As Sign Of "Tough Stance" Toward Putin

In the aftermath of Robert Mueller's indictment against 13 Russian "operatives" for meddling with the US presidential election, President Trump has been under fire for lashing out at everyone... except Russia. So, in response, Bloomberg reports that the Trump administration is weighing citing the deaths of more than 200 Russian fighters - or rather mercenaries - in Syria, who were killed following US strikes on February 7, as an example of Trump's tough stance toward Russia.

Recall that last week, "more than 200 mercenaries, mostly Russians fighting on behalf of Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad, died in a failed attack on a base and refinery held by U.S. and U.S.-backed forces in the oil-rich Deir Ezzor region" In terms of total body count, the U.S. official put the death toll at about 100, with 200 to 300 injured; while Russia admitted that Russians were killed, it said the number was five and denied that the men killed were officially sanctioned Russian troops.

FLASHBACK - “Wipe the Soviet Union Off the Map”, 204 Atomic Bombs against 66 Major Cities, US Nuclear Attack against USSR Planned During World War II

According to a secret document dated September 15, 1945, “the Pentagon had envisaged blowing up the Soviet Union with a coordinated nuclear attack directed against major urban areas.

All major cities of the Soviet Union were included in the list of 66 “strategic” targets. The tables below categorize each city in terms of area in square miles and the corresponding number of atomic bombs required to annihilate and kill the inhabitants of selected urban areas.

Six atomic bombs were to be used to destroy each of the larger cities including Moscow, Leningrad, Tashkent, Kiev, Kharkov, Odessa.

The Pentagon estimated that a total of 204 atomic bombs would be required to “Wipe the Soviet Union off the Map”. The targets for a nuclear attack consisted of sixty-six major cities.

Busting the Russian Facebook Ad Hoax=> Russians Spent Total of $3,111 in Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania During Election

Democrats and their dishonest mainstream media want you to believe the Russians hacked the election with a well financed and organized campaign to sway opinion in favor of Donald Trump.

The Russians spent a total of $100,000 during and after the campaign on Facebook ads.

Hillary Clinton had a lapdog media that favored her while 91% of the media coverage on her opponent Donald Trump was negative.

Facebook executive Colin Stretch told the US Senate Judiciary Committee in November that the total number of those illegitimate ads are a drop in the ocean — less than 0.004 percent of all content — or about 1 in 23,000 news feed items.

Russian "Troll Farm" Indictment Shredded By Journalist Who First Profiled It In 2015

Following Special Counsel Robert Mueller's indictment of 13 Russian nationals and three entities behind a Russian "troll farm" said to have meddled in the 2016 U.S. election (admittedly, with zero impact), two people familiar with both the ads purchased by Russians on Facebook, and the "troll farm" in question have refuted Mueller's narrative over the course of four days. Indeed, things don't seem to be going well for the Russia investigation, which started out with serious claims of Collusion between the Trump campaign and the Kremlin, and has been reduced to CNN diving through the garbage of a Russian troll farm.

About that troll farm...

Adrian Chen, staff writer for The New Yorker - who first profiled the indicted Russian troll farm in 2015, sat down with MSNBC's Chris Hayes, where he proceeded to deflate Mueller's big scary indictment to nothing.

Watch huge anti-NATO demonstration in Sweden: "Russian Aggression is a Big Big Lie"

Thousands of peace activists protested Saturday in Gothenburg against NATO, against its growth to Russia's borders and the ongoing "Aurora 17" military exercises of the Western military alliance. These are the largest military exercises in Sweden in the past 23 years. However, many of the demonstrators believe that the aggression and escalation are not by Russia but from NATO itself.

One participant stated, "Russia has an interest in defending itself too, but it is NATO and the US, moving closer and closer to Russia, and they are literally asking for war, and then they tell us every day How Dangerous Russia is and I think it's a big, big lie."

Drunk Poroshenko suddenly speaks Russian on video

Ukrainian journalist Sonya Koshkina published a video of what appears to be an intoxicated president of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko.

The video takes place on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, where he seems to forget about his stances, and communicates with her in Russian. Ukrainian politicians make a point of only speaking English or Ukrainian.

Poroshenko bombs in Munich

When Petro Poroshenko appeared at the Munich Security Conference, he looked into an almost empty hall. When the Ukrainian president finished his speech, nobody asked a question. When he left the stage, only a pair of lonely hands were clapping.

The contrast could not have been more stark: at earlier Munich security Conferences. the hall was full when Poroshenko spoke, and at the coffee breaks, everyone was talking about Ukraine and the Russian invasion of Donbass. Today, only experts in the war in the east of the country -- which is persistently pursued -- seem to be interested. This is sad for Ukraine, but also dangerous, for the country itself and for Europe.

War Preparation: Romania Orders $1 Billion Of U.S. HIMARS Missile Launchers

Romania’s commitment to increase its defense budget to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) target of 2 percent of GDP has spurred the government to approve a $1 billion purchase of American-made M142 HIMARS (High Mobility Artillery Rocket System).

Webmaster's Commentary:

Against what other country is Romania planning to use these weapons?!?

Possibly in a US government/NATO jinned up war against Russia?!?

Because at the end of the day, folks, that is at least one of the wonderful, wacky little wars NATO and the US government have been concocting.

From last year, we have the following article by Paul Craig Roberts, talking about a very serious geopolitical "trajectory" moving forward in order to stop the ascent of the ruble and the yuan:

Washington Plans to Nuke Russia & China

Notice the uptick, in US "faux news", of the demonization of Russia?!?

Notice that this Russia demonization is coupled with both US and European sanctions against it?!?

These acts, when avaluated together, are most probably a very ugly prelude to an even uglier war.

Again, this appears to be a question of timing, and what NATO and the US government think they can use to "sell" the war to US and European citizens.

Escalation in Syria – How Far Can the Russians be Pushed? - The Saker

A new US strategy in Syria: to punish the Russians as much as possible short of an overt US attack on Russian forces.

Events in Syria have recently clearly taken a turn for the worse and there is an increasing amount of evidence that the Russian task force in Syria is being targeted by a systematic campaign of “harassing attacks”.

First, there was the (relatively successful) drone and mortar attack on the Russian Aerospace base in Khmeimin. Then there was the shooting down of a Russian SU-25 over the city of Maasran in the Idlib province. Now we hear of Russian casualties in the US raid on a Syrian column (along with widely exaggerated claims of “hundreds” of killed Russians).

The Canadian company Colt Canada plans to sign a contract for the supply of 100,000 new assault rifles for the Ukrainian army.

In January, Colt Canada representatives held a "fact-finding meeting" with government officials in Ukraine.

According to Alex Payne, manager of Colt Canada, this is only the beginning of a process that can last up to two years, because Ukraine must determine what type of weapons it needs and where it is best to get them.

Payne noted that Colt Canada hopes to hold a demonstration of weapons in Ukraine in the summer.

Elections: Swiss parliamentarians rush to oversee that Putin doesn't cheat

"A delegation of Swiss parliamentarians will participate as observers during the March 18 presidential elections," Swiss parliamentarian De Buman said after a meeting with State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin.

On Sunday, a delegation of the State Duma headed by Volodin arrived in Switzerland on an official visit. This is the first official visit at the invitation of the Swiss parliament over the past 19 years.

The Russian Central Election Commission (RCEC) is allowing the participation of about a thousand foreign observers in the monitoring of the 2018 elections. Note that this is voluntary on behalf of the RCEC, and not coerced as some sources of Western media imply.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Russian senators list 100 examples of US meddling in foreign nations’ affairs

A Russian parliamentary commission has prepared a report that lists over 100 cases of US interference in other nations’ internal affairs since the end of World War Two.
Trends

“We have counted approximately 100, about 101 or 102 absolutely verified and recorded facts of American involvement in the sovereign affairs of over 60 UN member-nations since the approval of this organizations’ charter that bans any such involvement – since 1946 till this day,” the head of the upper house Commission for Protection of State Sovereignty, Senator Andrey Klimov, was quoted as saying on Monday by TASS.

The senator named one particular example from the list – the 1973 coup d’état in Chile that installed Augusto Pinochet as a military dictator and as a result of which the country’s parliament was dissolved and numerous human rights violations were committed. “Every such fact has a multitude of episodes of the US interference,” he noted.

Webmaster's Commentary:

One cannot fault these Russian senators for having a sense of humour, and dishing as well as they take, when it comes to criticism of America's government's intense involvements in foreign countries, to bend those countries geopolitically to its liking.

Munich Conference: "For The First Time In Decades We Are Facing Threat Of Nuclear Conflict"

And while there have been times in recent years when the MSC demonstrated signs of hope and optimism, none of that was evident this year. This year’s motto “To the Brink – and Back?”- which seems to be an accurate portrayal of the current geopolitical situations in most regions. After several days of senior decision-makers bickering back and forth, the negativity in the atmosphere only means one thing: A global conflict between nuclear superpowers is lingering.

“I was hoping when I opened this conference on Friday that, in concluding the conference, I would be able to say we can delete the question mark. In other words: ‘We are back from the brink,'” former German diplomat Wolfgang Ischinger said in closing remarks of the MSC. “I’m actually not sure we can say that,” he added.

Munich gathering descends into Russia-bashing nonsense & warmongering

For an event designed to address real global security issues, the Munich Security Conference has shown itself to be a useless talking shop. But it does add more propaganda fodder for Russia-bashing.

How ironic. A forum proclaiming to uphold global security is acting like a bullhorn for war.

The release on Friday of the US Department of Justice’s indictment of 13 Russian citizens for alleged meddling in the 2016 US presidential election went on to dominate the conference being held in Munich over the weekend.

Rather than being a peripheral matter owing to its dubious claims, the Washington hobby horse of “Russian meddling” was given free rein in Munich. Instead of parsing the latest Russophobia with intelligent skepticism, the conference added fuel to the bonfire of warmongering.

ROBERT MUELLER’S ’13 RUSSIAN TROLLS INDICTMENT’ IS A COPY + PASTE JOB FROM 2015 UKRAINIAN RADIO FREE EUROPE POST

I am certain that Mueller and his team of cracker jack investigators are making shit up as they go along, in this entire “Russia collusion” (or is it now “meddling”) investigation…all the while sitting back and collecting million dollar paychecks from American taxpayers…laughing all the way to the bank at the hysteria they are purposefully creating.

Case in point, Mueller and his team completely lifted the pathetic ’13 Russian troll’ indictment from a propaganda article published on Ukraine’s Radio Free Europe web site way back in 2015.

The Gateway Pundit reports…

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF in fact these charges are true, about where Meuller got his source material, these indictments are a pathetic attempt to be seen as "doing something", when this was never within the objective or scope of the original premise for the investigation.

And I would love to hear him tell the American people, for all the money spent, how in the name of heaven he expects to have these 13 individuals extradited from Russia to face these charges here in the United States?!?

The short answer is, in the infamous phrase of that former TV show, The Sopranos, "Fugettaboutit!!"

WHY WASHINGTON STRUCK RUSSIAN CONTRACTORS IN SYRIA?

On February 7, the US B-52 bombers and Apache helicopters struck a contingent of Syrian government troops and allied forces in Deir al-Zor that reportedly killed and wounded dozens of Russian military contractors working for the Russian private security firm, the Wagner group.

In order to understand the reason why the US brazenly attacked the Russian contractors, we need to keep the backdrop of seven-year-long Syrian conflict in mind. Washington has failed to topple the government of Bashar al-Assad in Syria.

Is The US Intentionally Killing Russians In Syria?

By Brandon Turbeville

After an attack on February 7 by the United States military against Syrian “pro-regime forces,” reports quickly emerged that the U.S. had killed a number of Russians embedded with the Syrian forces. While the Russian government remained silent, the U.S. soon announced that it had indeed killed “scores” of Russians in that air raid. Later, Russia confirmed that Russian “civilians” had been killed but that no Russian soldiers died. Russia put those numbers at around five while the United States stated a few dozen. Western mainstream media reports put the number at over a hundred.

Then, on February 15, another incident took place where 15 Russians died in an apparent explosion outside a weapons depot run by a Russian contracting company. The explosion itself is suspicious, particularly when taken in the context of the previous killing of Russians in Syria by the U.S. military.

Russian Embassy Points at Worsening Conditions for Media in US

a Spokesperson of the Russian Embassy in the United States said the registration of RIA Global LLC, a US company producing content for Sputnik news agency, as a "foreign agent" under FARA shows that the conditions for the operation of media in the United States are deteriorating.
"Our journalists have no choice here. They are working in the country, where slogans do not match the deeds. The conditions for the operation [of media outlets] are constantly deteriorating. Human rights organizations, which should have intervened on their behalf, did not do this," the Spokesperson told Sputnik.

"There should be no doubts that retaliatory — adequate and proportionate — measures will follow," the Spokesperson added.

Donald Trump’s Dereliction Of Presidential Duty

In 13 months in office, Mr. Trump has made little if any public effort to rally the nation to confront Moscow for its intrusion or to defend democratic institutions against continued disruption. His administration has at times called out Russia or taken action, and even Mr. Trump’s national security adviser, speaking in Germany on Saturday, called evidence of Russian meddling “incontrovertible.” But the administration has been left to respond without the president’s leadership.

“It is astonishing to me that a president of the United States would take this so lightly or see it purely through the prism of domestic partisanship,” said Daniel Fried>>>

Greenwald: A Consensus Emerges: Russia Committed an “Act of War” on Par With Pearl Harbor and 9/11. Should the U.S. Response be Similar?

***
>>>If Russian election meddling is on par with the Pearl Harbor and 9/11 attacks, then should the U.S. response be on par with its response to those attacks? Japan’s attack on Pearl Harbor prompted U.S. involvement in a world war and, ultimately, dropping two nuclear bombs on Japan; 9/11 initiated wars in multiple countries that still, 17 years later, have no end in sight, along with a systematic and still-worsening erosion of basic civil liberties.

This has been a long-standing tactic during the War on Terror of neoconservatives: they love to accuse everyone of being insufficiently “tough” or “aggressive” with whatever country they crave heightened tensions, but they never specify what greater “toughness” is needed>>>

Jews Dominated the Bloody Terror Apparatus of Stalin's USSR

This is an article from 2006 written by a Jewish author in one of Israel's largest online news sites, Ynet. It calls for Jews to recognize their guilt in one of history's bloodiest crimes. It's original title was "Stalin's Jews"

Here's a particularly forlorn historical date: Almost 90 years ago, between the 19th and 20th of December 1917, in the midst of the Bolshevik revolution and civil war, Lenin signed a decree calling for the establishment of The All-Russian Extraordinary Commission for Combating Counter-Revolution and Sabotage, also known as Cheka.

What’s Brewing? British, American, Canadian Advisers Arrive in Donbass

Citing intelligence sources, the representative of Donetsk, Eduard Basurin, has stated that British instructors have arrived in the Donbass, at the locations of the Ukrainian Forces.

“In the area of 93rd separate mechanized brigade in the vicinity of the city of Volnovaha, a group of foreign instructors has arrived – led by a representative of the Armed Forces of the United Kingdom, for the purpose of training of Ukrainian servicemen on how to carry out sabotage and subversive activities,” said Basurin.

“In addition to the British, from February 5th to the 9th, a delegation of the US military will join the Brits. They will assess the expenditure of funds that Washington has allocated to the army.”

The DPR stressed that rotation of the Ukrainian military has been completed in the Mariupol district. The marines which came to replace the infantry brigade have participated in the NATO exercises in Georgia in September 2017.

Goofy Indictments Divert Attention from Criminal Abuses at the FBI and DOJ

All of these suspects will go uninvestigated, unindicted, and unpunished just like the perpetrators of the Iraq War, just like the perpetrators of the Financial Meltdown, and just like the perpetrators of all the major crimes against the American people.

The evidence that the FBI and DOJ “improperly obtained” FISA warrants to spy on Trump campaign affiliate, Carter Page, has now been overshadowed by the tragic massacre in Parkland, Florida and the obfuscating indictments of 13 Internet “trolls” who have not been linked to the Russian government and who are being used to conceal the fact that the 18 month-long witch hunt has not yet produced even one scintilla of hard evidence related to the original claims of “hacking or collusion”.

Rosenstein and Mueller Running for Cover Leaving Brennan Exposed

So what was Russiagate all about?

It was exactly, precisely what I told you it was about from the very begining. It was a conspiracy orchestrated by the military/security complex, CIA, FBI, Hillary Clinton, and the Democratic National Committed against Donald Trump.

Trump’s emphasis during his presidential campaign on normalizing relations with Russia, which the neocon Obama regime had turned into “America’s most dangerous enemy,” was a threat to the power and budgets of the military/security complex. Look this was in the news this week. We had the Susan Rice memo indicting Joe Biden, Barack Obama, Sally Yates, James Comey and Susan Rice in a conspiracy to get Trump on Russia. Anti-Trumpists Use Mueller Indictments to Escalate Tensions With Nuclear-Armed Russia

U.S. empire loyalists are so close to telling the truth when they babble about “Russian propaganda.” They are openly admitting that it is wrong to use media to manipulate the ways that Americans think and vote. Now all we need is for them to admit that they themselves do this constantly, and we’ll be on the right track.

The word “Russians” is America’s top trend on Twitter at the time of this writing because of a Mueller indictment of 13 alleged members of a Russian troll farm, those nefarious supervillains who posted pictures of puppies and promoted Bernie Sanders to “sow discord in the U.S. political system, including the 2016 U.S. election.”

Russians Spooked by Nukes-Against-Cyber-Attack Policy

Moscow is showing understandable concern over the lowering of the threshold for employing nuclear weapons to include retaliation for cyber-attacks, a change announced on Feb. 2 in the U.S. Nuclear Posture Review (NPR).

US doctrine on first-use, the NPR cites the efforts of potential adversaries “to design and use cyber weapons” and explains the change as a “hedge” against non-nuclear threats. In response, Russia described the move as an “attempt to shift onto others one’s own responsibility” for the deteriorating security situation.

Moscow’s concern goes beyond rhetoric. Cyber-attacks are notoriously difficult to trace to the actual perpetrator and can be pinned easily on others in what we call “false-flag” operations>>>

Those Neocons who now selectively support the president and those bitterly anti-Russian Fox pundits (with the possible exception of Tucker Carlson) are absolutely giddy with delight! Sad Old Men Will Attack Russia at the Munich 'Security' Conference

The annual Munich Security Conference (MSC) will take place on February 16-18. No doubt the participants will paint Russia as a bully who is responsible for each and every thing that is going wrong, while the “innocent” West is calling for restraint and is ready to go to any length to preserve peace on earth.

The West is innocent? Russia is a bully and a threat? This is the right time to look at recent events to see what’s really happening. The US 2019 draft budget released on Feb. 12 asks Congress to approve over $6.3 billion for the US-led NATO European Reassurance Initiative (ERI). In other words, this money is to be spent on a military build-up near Russia’s borders.

Russia deploys missiles on its own territory, NATO goes ballistic

Over the past few days, the "dispute" between NATO and Russia over the latter’s deployment of Iskander-M rockets in its own Kaliningrad region has heated up. In particular, on February 14th, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg urged Russia to be “transparent,” although he also admitted that Moscow had announced its missile deployments to its border region a few years ago. In other words, Stoltenberg’s recent statement on the matter bore no semblance of transparency.

Meanwhile, Russia is working to make this “issue” a transparent one. I believe it to be no coincidence that on last Sunday, February 11th, the popular program Voennaia priomka on the Zvezda TV channel of Russia’s Ministry of Defense, discussed in detail the tactical and technical characteristics of Iskander missile complexes.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Russia is adding these missiles in response to the NATO missile buildup along Russia's borders, including the installation of US "Aegis Ashore" systems.

Russian children’s ombudsman calls for nationwide register of convicted pedophiles

The Russian ombudsman for children has supported a recently drafted bill imposing life sentences for pedophilia, but added that the creation of a nationwide register of offenders was also necessary.

“We consider it important to continue work on a register of persons who have committed sex crimes against minors and other illegal acts, which would allow them to be monitored for the rest of their lives,” Anna Kuznetsova wrote on her Facebook page.

“We also support such measures as restricting internet access and tougher sanctions for violations of various bans during the administrative period for which they are imposed.”

The ombudsman added that, in her opinion, any bills that protect the safety of children should be passed as quickly as possible.

MUELLER INDICTMENT PART OF CYCLE OF INFORMATION WARFARE AND ELECTION MEDDLING BETWEEN U.S. AND RUSSIA

Thirteen Russian nationals allegedly involved in an information warfare operation to interfere in the 2016 presidential election were indicted by Special Counsel Robert Mueller.

The indictment [PDF] claims the Internet Research Agency engaged in a conspiracy from 2014 to the present that was funded by Yevgeniy Viktorovich Prigozhin and companies he controlled, including Concord Management and Consulting and Concord Catering.

Beyond already known allegations related to Russians creating false U.S. personas on social media, it alleges the Russian nationals traveled, or attempted to travel, to the U.S. Aleksandra Yuryevna Krylova and Anna Vladislavovna Bogacheva stopped in Nevada, California, New Mexico, Colorado, Illinois, Michigan, Louisiana, Texas, and New York to “gather intelligence.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

OK, other than sanctioning businesses these people own, how, please, does Meuller expect to prosecute these people, when it is a darn near moral certainty that Russia will not extradite them for court appearances in the US?!?

Is this not a rather pyrrhic victory for Meuller, when he knows he cannot prosecute, and so far, I can see nothing that even smacks of being "evidence" which ties these individuals to the Russian government.

That is what Meuller, with the millions of dollars spent on this investigation, so far has been incabable of proving.

And unless he can and will prove a true Russian government connection to this infowar, I would politely suggest that he hold off on sanctioning the country of Russia per se.

Solzhenitsyn's Damning History of the Jews in Russia - a Review

So what is so naughty, naughty about this book?

Most of it consists of unremarkable information that can be found in standard, non-censored texts. [For details, see comments.]

Agree with author Solzhenitsyn or not, but recognize the fact that he is no lightweight. Solzhenitsyn goes into considerable detail about many different historical epochs, and clearly has a deep knowledge of the issues that he raises. His approach is balanced. He is sympathetic towards Jews as well as critical of Jews.

The latter evidently does not sit well with many, because it does not comply with the standard Judeocentric narrative, in which Jews are just victims and can do no wrong. Worse yet, a famous writer is bringing sometimes-unflattering information about Jews to light, and this is threatening. Hence the censorship.

Jews and Bolshevism

Amongst themselves, the Jews are quite candid about their sympathy for and involvement in Bolshevism.

On 4 April 1919 the Jewish Chronicle: “There is much in the fact of Bolshevism itself, in the fact that so many Jews are Bolshevists, in the fact that the ideals of Bolshevism at many points are consonant with the finest ideals of Judaism.”

(Perhaps this explains why the Red Army uses a Jewish star as its symbol?)

Probably the best-known exposé of the Jewish role in the Bolshevik coup d’état was by Sir Winston Churchill, writing in the Illustrated Sunday Herald of 8 February 1920. Churchill wrote “With the notable exception of Lenin, the majority of leading figures are Jews. Moreover the principal inspiration and the driving power comes from Jewish leaders.”

Moscow Never 'Bet' on US Election

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Russia was never a "hostage" to expectations of Donald Trump's presidency in the United States, suggestions that Moscow bet on him at the 2016 election and lost are speculation.

"I would not say that we were hostage to some expectations. There is much speculation at the moment on the issue of Russia ‘betting’ on Trump and losing," Lavrov told Euronews, Sputnik reported.

The Minister added that a number of Russian politicians and activists had indeed made statements in support of Trump's presidency, however the country's leadership had never placed any stake on any candidates.

This is Ridiculous’: Russia Indictments Unrelated to Trump, Election Outcome

Jim Jatras, political analyst and former US diplomat instead believes that the indictment is just an attempt to keep Americans from questioning the behavior of their government.

"Over the past few weeks we have seen so much about how the Justice Department, the FBI, the State Department and the CIA have been mixed up — by the way I would include MI6 and Government Communications Headquarters as being involved in this — [in] trying to subvert the rule of law… this is an attempt to come back and say ‘Never mind all this, look at that">>>

Sanctions' Thirst: US Politicians Call for Response Over Alleged Vote Meddling

The US Justice Department filed charges against more than a dozen Russian persons and entities for trying to influence the 2016 US presidential contest which prompted cries for more sanctions on Moscow and demands for better election security.

The defendants intentionally conspired with each other to defraud the United States by undermining the democratic process in the country, the court document added.
The Russian individuals engaged in organizing rallies and paid Americans to participate in political activities and promote campaigns. The defendants communicated with members of Trump's campaign who were unaware of their motives, according to the indictment.

‘Absurd’ Kremlin fury as US indicts 13 Russians for interfering in election

A Russian Internet agency and more than a dozen Russians interfered in the 2016 US election campaign in a multi-pronged effort to support Donald Trump and disparage rival Hillary Clinton, the US Special Counsel said in an indictment today.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova wrote in a post on Facebook: “13 people interfered in the US elections?! 13 against an intelligence services budget of billions? Against intelligence and counterintelligence, against the latest developments and technologies? Absurd? Yes.”

US indictment of Russians over election meddling is 'absurd' - FM spokesperson

US indictment of 13 Russian nationals and three entities over alleged meddling in American elections in 2016 has been labelled absurd by the Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Maria Zakharova.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I agree. The hypocrisy is astounding that Mueller goes after these Russians with no evidence to back up his claims while he continues to ignore Uranium-gate, Foundation-gate, and the fact that it was Hillary Clinton, not Donald Trump, who colluded with the Russians.

Go long on tar and feathers!

MEGA BEX ALERT - Special counsel issues indictment against 13 Russian nationals over 2016 election interference

Special counsel Robert Mueller has indicted 13 Russian nationals and three Russian entities for allegedly meddling in the 2016 presidential election, charging them with conspiracy to defraud the United States, the Department of Justice has announced.

In addition, three defendants were charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud and bank fraud, and five defendants with aggravated identity theft.
Mueller has been investigating Russian interference in the 2016 election as well as any connections between Russia and Trump campaign associates.

Beginning as early as 2014, the Russian organization Internet Research Agency began operations to interfere with the US political system, including the 2016 elections, according to the indictment, which was released by Mueller's office Friday.

The defendants allegedly posed as US persons, created false US personas, and operated social media pages and groups designed to attract US audiences, the indictment reads.

White House Threatens ‘Consequences’ For 2017 Russian Cyberattack

***
A White House statement on Thursday said: “In June 2017, the Russian military launched the most destructive and costly cyber-attack in history. The attack, dubbed ‘NotPetya,’ quickly spread worldwide, causing billions of dollars in damage across Europe, Asia, and the Americas. It was part of the Kremlin’s ongoing effort to destabilize Ukraine and demonstrates ever more clearly Russia’s involvement in the ongoing conflict. This was also a reckless and indiscriminate cyber-attack that will be met with international consequences.”

The announcement came hours after the UK government made a similar statement.

Those consequences could include a retaliatory attack or sanctions>>>

Washington no more: Palestine turns to Moscow for future Israel talks

It is no secret that Palestinian trust in Washington as an impartial broker and mediator in future peace talks with Israel has been shredded.

And given the Trump administration’s reckless, not to mention illegal, decision to declare Washington’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital in December 2017, who can blame them?

This historic rupture with Washington on the part of the Palestinian Authority was articulated by President Mahmoud Abbas, at the start of talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in Moscow.

National Socialism (Nazism) once again patrolling streets in Europe

Life continues in Ukraine. It seems obvious, since time is the same everywhere, but since the coup d'état in 2014, we have barely heard about Ukraine. Practically everything related to the civil war that ravages the east of the country or the Russian occupation of Crimea goes unnoticed except for some sporadic article about the government.

On February 4 groups of citizens took to the streets -they were protesting- the truth is that it is nothing new, from Yanukovych's death rattles, the citizens dissatisfied with their state and the governing body have increased, until becoming an almost weekly.

In this particular case the citizens left in the city of Kiev, and protested against the so-called 'Druzhyna Nacional', an umbrella organization parallel to the state, which they are assuming, in some cities, or treating it in others, to take over the work of the police.

Russia Is Taking Over Syria’s Oil And Gas

In accordance with an energy cooperation framework agreement signed in late January, Russia will have exclusive rights to produce oil and gas in Syria.

The agreement goes significantly beyond that, stipulating the modalities of the rehabilitation of damaged rigs and infrastructure, energy advisory support, and training a new generation of Syrian oilmen. Still, the main international aspect and the key piece of this move is the final and unconditional consolidation of Russian interests in the Middle East.

Turkey, Russia to sign deal for second S-400 regiment in 2020

Turkey will sign an agreement with Russia for the second S-400 missile defense system regiment in 2020, a Russian official said Wednesday.

"After the delivery of the first regiment is completed in May-June 2020, the parties plan to sign a new contract on the delivery of the second S-400 regiment in 2021. The list of supplies will be similar to the one included in the first contract," the unnamed official told Russian news agency TASS.

The source also said the new deal will include partial localization of production with some Turkish firms manufacturing certain "non-crucial" parts of the S-400 systems.
