Mossack Fonseca Has 441 U.S. Clients: Who Are They?

As the shock from the initial revelation of leaked Mossack Fonseca files fades away, one recurring question has emerged: why were there no American clients of the firm named (at least not yet)? After all, leaders in Iceland, Russia, Ukraine, Brazil, Australia and many other nations are already facing questions about their use of the Panamanian law firm, and yet nothing about the US?

One hint may have emerged when observing at the funding supporters of the project, among which we find George Soros' heavily financially connected Open Society:

Clearly, this would imply editorial intervention by the funding sources due to a potential "conflict of interest", although hopefully not as that would undermine the objective nature of this massive journalistic undertaking.

Protestors pelt Icelandic parliament with eggs, yoghurt and BANANAS in call for PM to quit

TENS OF THOUSANDS of protestors have descended on Reykjavic today hurling yoghurts, eggs and bananas at the Icelandic parliament in a furious demanding for the country's beleaguered Prime Minister to quit.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Given that bananas have to be imported to Iceland, I suppose there is some significance in their choice of fruit to hurl, but good for the Icelandic people. The taxpayers of every nation implicated in the Panama Papers scandal should be doing exactly the same thing!

Are any of the names in the Panama Papers linked with the Clinton Foundation? They are refiling their taxes for not reporting Foreign Donations accurately for at least three years.

So far we have four names: Bidzina Ivanishvill, Prince Salman, Sultan Al-Nahyan, Petro Poroshenko .

http://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-election-clinton-taxes-exclusive...

For three years in a row beginning in 2010, the Clinton Foundation reported to the IRS that it received zero in funds from foreign and U.S. governments, a dramatic fall-off from the tens of millions of dollars in foreign government contributions reported in preceding years.
Those entries were errors, according to the foundation: several foreign governments continued to give tens of millions of dollars toward the foundation's work on climate change and economic development through this three-year period. Those governments were identified on the foundation's annually updated donor list, along with broad indications of how much each had cumulatively given since they began donating.

About the Panama Papers

The data provides rare insights into a world that can only exist in the shadows. 10 things we've learnt from the leaked Panama Papers

The hidden wealth of some of the world’s most prominent leaders, politicians and celebrities has been revealed by an unprecedented leak of millions of documents that show some of the ways in which the rich can exploit secretive offshore tax regimes.

Dubbed the Panama Files, the 11 million documents were leaked from a Panamanian law firm called Mossack Fonseca.

They show how the company has helped clients launder money, dodge sanctions and evade tax.

The company says it has operated beyond reproach for 40 years and has never been charged with criminal wrong-doing.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So far, western reporting of this scandal has been limited to reports on the US' enemies' activities, but there is silence for the US' friends, and especially for US politicians!

A Very Brief History of Taxation in America

By Susan Boskey

“100% of what is collected is absorbed solely by interest on the Federal Debt … all individual income tax revenues are gone before one nickel is spent on the services taxpayers expect from government.” ~The Grace Commission Report, 1984

As April 15 nears…thought you would find this research on taxation in America timely if not interesting.

No one living before the Constitution of 1787 could have believed the seven ways to Sunday Americans are now taxed. Under the Declaration of Independence and the first American constitution of 1777, The Articles of Confederation and Perpetual Union, association among the confederate states and a state’s interaction with federal authorities was 100% voluntary...

How your tax millions are sent to AMERICA: Washington think-thank received £5million to spend on a new HQ… while a green summit got £13,000

It is one of the richest countries on Earth, yet millions of pounds of British taxpayers’ money is being sent to fund aid organisations in the US, The Mail on Sunday can reveal.

One Washington think-tank, the Center for Global Development (CGD), received £5.9 million – yet was so cash-rich that it moved into new £12 million offices complete with a 60-seat ‘ideas lab’.

British money was also inexplicably used to fund a global warming summit in Texas at which local businessmen were encouraged to jump on the ‘green energy’ bandwagon. And an American charity that received UK aid has made television shows about how rival jail gangs made peace over a shared loved of football.

Sharing memes won’t save the world on its own, but it can help to raise awareness about important ideas and get people curious about concepts that they have not considered before. Why the IRS's Technology Nightmare Is Far From Over

This is a story about the Internal Revenue Service, an 84,000-employee government agency with a job that’s as vital as it is hard to love—securing the trillions of dollars in taxes that make the government run. And these days, it’s an agency down on its luck: plagued by angry politicians, frustrated taxpayers, hordes of identity thieves, and—more recently—hackers.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Setting aside the fact that the IRS is a private collection agency owned by and working for a privately owned central bank, one would think that if there were a class of cyber-criminals the NSA would be well motivated to locate, it would be those messing with the tax system, which funds the NSA's nefarious operations. It would appear once again that while the NSA is adept at spying on law-abiding Americans, real criminals (and terrorists) are easily able to evade the NSA!

Both Trump and Ted Cruz have proposed eliminating the estate tax that is paid when a person dies. This garners 54% support and 19% disagreeing.

The idea of simplifying the federal tax code into four tax brackets instead of the current seven, which has been championed by Trump, receives 47% agreement and only 12% opposition.

In addition, Trump's recommendation to cut federal income taxes for all income levels gets far more support (47%) than opposition (34%), as does his proposal to lower the federal corporate tax rate to 15% (43% agree, 30% disagree).

H&R Block: Customers paying twice as much to satisfy Obamacare penalty

Halfway through tax season, uninsured filers are paying more than twice as much as they did last year to satisfy Obamacare’s penalty for lacking coverage, H&R Block said Tuesday in an analysis that found other customers are still struggling to match their incomes to tax credits they got from Uncle Sam.

The tax-prep giant said its customers are paying an average penalty of $383 because of the Affordable Care Act’s “individual mandate,” compared to $172 last year.

That’s because the mandate, a lever designed to bring healthy people into the new marketplace, rose from $95 or 1 percent of qualified income — whichever is greater — in 2014 to $325 or 2 percent of income for 2015.

Blue Cross Parent Loses $1.5 Billion

Blue Cross parent lost $1.5 billion on individual health plans last year

Year 2 of the Affordable Care Act was another financial flop for the Chicago-based parent of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois but hints of a turnaround are emerging.

Health Care Service Corp.'s financial losses in its individual business, which includes ACA plans, worsened in 2015. The company, which owns Blue Cross affiliates in Illinois and four other states, said it lost $1.5 billion in its individual business, up from $767 million in 2014, the first year of the health law's state exchanges for buying coverage.

In anticipation of ACA-related losses in 2015, HCSC set aside nearly $400 million in 2014 to boost reserves to $680.9 million. The company spent $657.3 million of those reserves to cover the medical expenses associated with ACA plans in 2015.

There is now yet another reason to be disgusted by the ongoing fiasco known as Obamacare: A new report from the Government Accountability Office has concluded that the federal government's failure to properly monitor the eligibility of enrollees may have cost taxpayers billions in fraudulent payments.

Massive IRS data breach much bigger than first thought

A massive data breach at the IRS was much bigger than was first realized. The agency now says more than 700,000 social security numbers and other sensitive information may have been stolen.

Hackers used the "Get Transcript" program, which allows you to check your tax history online. The IRS began the online program two years ago, allowing taxpayers to request their tax history over the Internet, in addition to the post office. But following a nine-month investigation by the Treasury inspector general for tax administration, the IRS says its online service has put hundreds of thousands of more taxpayers at risk of identify theft, reports CBS News correspondent Jan Crawford.

The Staggering Cost of Israel to Americans

Israel has a population of approximately 7.8 million, or a million fewer than the state of New Jersey. It is among the world’s most affluent nations, with a per capita income similar to that of the European Union.[1] Israel’s unemployment rate of 5.8% is better than America’s 7.3%,[2] and Israel’s net trade, earnings, and payments is ranked 30th in the world while the US sits in last place at a dismal 193rd.[3]

Yet, Israel receives more of America’s foreign aid budget than any other nation.[4] The US has, in fact, given more aid to Israel than it has to all the countries of sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean combined—which have a total population of over a billion people.[5]

And foreign aid is just one component of the staggering cost of our alliance with Israel.

The government always fails to deliver on its promises.

Of the seven main candidates running for president, only one wants to keep the Affordable Care Act in place: the Democratic kind-of-front-runner Hillary Clinton. Everyone else wants to get rid of it.

Most Republicans would replace it by returning health insurance regulation to the states, although they would also lock in much of the ACA's new spending. Self-proclaimed socialist Bernie Sanders would replace it with a single-payer system—Medicare for all. It's a terribly inefficient and costly idea, as many pundits have explained.

But it's worth noting that Sanders' main beef with the ACA is that it doesn't offer universal coverage. Basically, not everyone is insured under the law >>>

Congressional Budget Office Unleashes Plot To Fleece America, Charge Drivers By The Mile (While Giving Untold Billions To Israel)

The U.S. Congressional Budget Office released a lengthy report two weeks ago strongly suggesting that the 18.4 cents per gallon gasoline tax, which is supposedly spent on maintaining the roads and infrastructure, is not nearly enough anymore. One "approach that the Congress could consider," according to the report, was to "Have the federal government—or allow states or private businesses to—charge drivers directly for their use of roads more often, including charging them more for using roads when traffic is more congested...Charging drivers specifically for using roads would increase economic output by allowing highly valued transportation to move more quickly and more reliably. Such pricing could take the form of per-mile charges (also known as vehicle-miles traveled, or VMT, charges), congestion charges, or tolls on Interstate highways." Treachery abounds!

America’s military would guarantee protection of Saudi Arabia and her oilfields.
The U.S. would also sell the Saudis any weapons needed.
The U.S. would furthermore guarantee protection from Israel and the other countries of the region.
Finally, the Saudi family was ensured that they would rule in perpetuity.

WOMAN JAILED FOR REFUSING FEDERAL ORDER TO COMMIT PERJURY

Hendrickson’s saga officially began in 2006, when the Internal Revenue Service claimed that refunds it had issued to her years earlier were mistakes, according to the family and official documents reviewed by WND.

In 2007, the U.S. Department of Justice went much further, asking a federal court to sign an order purporting to force Hendrickson to repudiate her previous tax returns and sign new ones.

However, she was never even accused by the government of tax evasion or filing false returns, much less convicted.

The DOJ, however, wanted her to replace her original returns – signed under penalty of perjury – with new documents in which the content would be dictated by the IRS, also signed under penalty of perjury. They flew in prosecutor Melissa Siskind from Washington to pursue the case.

Hendrickson believed the information dictated by the IRS was incorrect, so she could not sign it without an explanatory note pointing out that it was made under duress, she explained.

Kurds warn Turkey of ‘big war’ with Russia if invades Syria

Russia has promised to protect Kurdish fighters in Syria in case of a ground offensive by Turkey, a move that would lead to a "big war," the Syrian group's envoy to Moscow said in an interview on Wednesday.

"We take this threat very seriously because the ruling party in Turkey is a party of war," Rodi Osman, head of the Syrian Kurds' newly-opened representative office said in Kurdish via a Russian interpreter. "Russia will respond if there is an invasion. This isn't only about the Kurds, they will defend the territorial sovereignty of Syria."

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF in fact this information is true, we may be looking at an intense escalation of this war, happening in a heartbeat.

As reported in consortiumnews.com today:

When President Barack Obama took questions from reporters on Tuesday, the one that needed to be asked – but wasn’t – was whether he had forbidden Turkey and Saudi Arabia to invade Syria, because on that question could hinge whether the ugly Syrian civil war could spin off into World War III and possibly a nuclear showdown. If Turkey (with hundreds of thousands of troops massed near the Syrian border) and Saudi Arabia (with its sophisticated air force) follow through on threats and intervene militarily to save their rebel clients, who include Al Qaeda’s Nusra Front, from a powerful Russian-backed Syrian government offensive, then Russia will have to decide what to do to protect its 20,000 or so military personnel inside Syria. A source close to Russian President Vladimir Putin told me that the Russians have warned Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan that Moscow is prepared to use tactical nuclear weapons if necessary to save their troops in the face of a Turkish-Saudi onslaught. Since Turkey is a member of NATO, any such conflict could quickly escalate into a full-scale nuclear confrontation. Given Erdogan’s megalomania or mental instability and the aggressiveness and inexperience of Saudi Prince Mohammad bin Salman (defense minister and son of King Salman), the only person who probably can stop a Turkish-Saudi invasion is President Obama. But I’m told that he has been unwilling to flatly prohibit such an intervention, though he has sought to calm Erdogan down and made clear that the U.S. military would not join the invasion..

However, Obama may not have the luxury of not participating; because Turkey is a NATO member, if it does, in fact, get attacked, the US government would have no choice but to defend it through NATO.

Let us pray that saner, cooler heads will prevail here.
