What’s Worse Than Antiwar Propaganda on Veterans Day? (Pro-war propaganda)

As a reminder of how deranged our cultural elite and political establishment are, how many major political figures of the past hundred years have been dismissed from polite society for urging too much war? -- There are lots of things that get you demonized and ostracized in America, but that ain’t one of them.

European Parliament ‘shocked’ at amount of EU-made weapons in hands of terrorists

A draft report on arms exports, which will be tabled at the European Parliament’s plenary session in Strasbourg later this week, suggests launching an investigation into how EU-made weapons end up in the possession of terrorists in the Middle East.

One provision of the document, presented by German MEP Sabine Lösing, says that the European Parliament is “shocked at the amount of EU-made weapons and ammunition found in the hands of Daesh* in Syria and Iraq.”

One Hundred Years Of Lies, Treason And War Crimes Is Enough! Admin

World War I ended 100 years ago on 11-11-1918 but the war against humanity, against freedom and the truth continues. Understanding the lies we were told as children might free us as adults.

Mike Pompeo and John Bolton: Trump’s Tag Team of Death and Destruction!

With the welcome departure of war mongering UN Ambassador Nikki Haley, the Trump Administration’s neocon tag team of death and destruction – Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo and National Security Advisor (NSA), John Bolton – have enthusiastically taken up where the repellent Haley has left off. It is highly doubtful that the former Ambassador will meekly return from under the rock in which she crawled, but will reappear possibly as a primary challenger to her former boss in 2020, and, most certainly, as a Presidential contender in 2024.

Last week, Messrs Pompeo and Bolton were dutifully carrying forth Haley’s promises of mayhem to anyone opposed to US hegemony even if those “enemies” have never taken hostile action against the US mainland. Of course, threats and attacks against nations which have done nothing to America have never much mattered to the foreign policy establishment!

Will House Democrats End U.S. Involvement In Yemen War?

Given the anger in Washington over the Jamal Khashoggi murder case, there is a real possibility that the Democrat-controlled House will be able to garner the votes to achieve what scores of lawmakers unsuccessfully sought to accomplish in March. The stakes are high regarding weapons sales to Saudi Arabia and the UAE. Any effort to cancel, delay, or freeze arms deals could undermine the White House’s “special relationships” with Crown Princes Mohammed bin Salman and Mohammed bin Zayed, the de facto rulers in Riyadh and Abu Dhabi who are at the helm of Saudi and Emirati foreign policy. At risk are pending Saudi and UAE purchases of the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) anti-missile defense system, the F-35 fifth generation fighter jets, and precision guided munitions.

Iraqi Parliament Pushes for Timetable on US Pullout

Always more resistant to open-ended foreign military presence than the nation’s executive branch, Iraq’s parliament has revealed a series of plans to start “reviewing” the US military presence. This is focused in particular on a timetable for the US pullout.

Iraq MP Ahmad al-Assadi said he expects the calls for a US withdrawal to at least double during the new parliament’s term, and that most are only prepared to accept the trainers and advisors described as filling a specific need.

This is to start with a review of the scale of the US presence, the needs of the Iraqi security forces, and the existing timetable. With ISIS effectively defeated in Iraq, most seem to lean toward needing few, if any, US troops at this point.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I would politely suggest that the US military and Pentagon show a little restraint here.

Please remember who the current king-maker is in Iraq, even though he holds no office; this is Muqtada Al Sadr, the former leader of the Madhi Army, who insisted that the US had to leave precisely when the SOFA indicated they should, otherwise, all American military personnel were "fair game" for his soldiers.

Any attempt at a decap strike against him, will most probably be met with fierce rebellion from the Iraqi people, disgusted at how the former US-enabled government's corruption has laid Iraq bare to plunder and corruption.

US Airstrikes Kill at Least 41 Civilians in Eastern Syria

Aiming to support a struggling Kurdish invasion of the area, a flurry of US-led airstrikes against the ISIS-held town of Hajin, in eastern Syria, killed at least 41 civilians, including 17 children over the past several days.

The death toll was reported by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, who warned it was likely that the toll would further rise because of the number of wounded. The US has yet to comment on the attacks.

That’s become increasingly common. US officials have been less and less transparent about their overseas operations, and nowhere is this more glaring than in Syria. In recent months, despite very well established US strikes, the Pentagon has claimed virtually no casualties in Syria.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Because the murder of children and infants seems to be off this government's radar, I felt it a moral imperative to witness to what the US military is doing in Syria.

And if there is any notice of it, you can bet that these kids will be characterized as "collateral damage", as though their lives didn't have any meaning, or were as worthless as trash.

At Least 80 Killed as Saudi-Backed Forces Reach Hodeidah Residential Areas

Saudi-backed invasion forces are pushing deeper into the vital Yemeni aid port of Hodeidah, with heavy fighting on Saturday killing at least 80 across the city. Hodeidah’s main hospital has fallen and now the fighting has reached the residential area surrounding it.

Medics reported that among the 80 killed, 61 were Houthi fighters and the other 19 were pro-Saudi soldiers. There were also reports of civilian casualties from several airstrikes in the area, though exact numbers are unclear.

This is the latest of several major military offensives against the port. The most recent push was said to include thousands of additional fighters, including Yemeni factions and the Sudanese military.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The goal of the Saudi military, enabled by the US military, is to starve the residents of Hodeidah into submission.

Just in case the Saudi Government, or US government or military never got the memo, THIS IS A WAR CRIME!!

Pentagon launched new classified operation to support Saudi coalition in Yemen

Even as the humanitarian crisis precipitated by Saudi Arabia’s more-than-three-year war in Yemen has deepened, the Pentagon earlier this year launched a new classified operation to support the kingdom’s military operations there, according to a Defense Department document that appears to have been posted online inadvertently.

The existence of the new classified operation, code-named Yukon Journey, was partially revealed in a Defense Department inspector general report posted online earlier this month, which noted that “the Secretary of Defense designated three new named contingency operations: Operation Yukon Journey, and operations in Northwest Africa and East Africa.”

The three operations, which focus on al-Qaida and ISIS, are classified, the report notes, and the Pentagon has not publicly disclosed their location beyond saying they are in the Middle East and Africa.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Translation: the Pentagon will continue assassinating all Yemenis still breathing possible, until Yemen is securely occupied by the Saudi military, no matter how many innocents are murdered in the process.

In providing this "cover" for the Butcher of Yemen, (His Royal Highness, the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman), the US government has telegraphed its enthusiasm for continuing to aid and abet Saudi war crimes in Yemen.

My brother and sister Americans are now citizens of a country which commits war crimes.

When I was a kid, thoughts like this never entered my head; my country was always the moral, reasonable, democratic holder of the higher ground; it is disgusting to know that this was rarely the case with this country, particularly in the 21st century.

I have to weep for what I see as the final trajectory for US foreign policy.

GPS signals jammed: Norway, Finland warn pilots Russia may blind their navigation systems

In recent weeks, NATO conducted its largest military exercises in decades in the frigid waters and icy mountains of Norway. But something odd happened. The GPS signals guiding ships, aircraft, tanks, trucks and troops started to fail.

Civilian airliners, cars, trucks, cargo ships and smart phones operating in and around Norway and Finland experienced similar disruptions.

Why?

Russia is the chief suspect.

It was riled by the scale and location of NATO’s Trident Juncture manoeuvres — despite having itself conducted several massive military exercises in the Baltics recently.

Webmaster's Commentary:

More Russia demonization, and absolutely no hard proof that Russia is, in fact, culpable here.

Trump gives highest U.S. civilian honour, the Medal of Freedom, to top GOP donor

U.S. President Donald Trump awarded the Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian honour in the U.S., to seven individuals Saturday, both living and dead — one of whom has been the biggest donor to the Republican Party.

Miriam Adelson was awarded the Medal of Freedom. She is married to Sheldon Adelson, a billionaire Las Vegas casino magnate and another GOP megadonor.

The Adelsons recently contributed $113 million to GOP causes during the 2018 election cycle. Among those donations, the couple gave $25 million in July to the Senate Leadership Fund, $2 million in September to ESA Fund, $3 million in July and September to the Republican Governors Association and roughly $40 million between May and September to the Congressional Leadership Fund, according to Politico.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This award, and the Adelsons' donations, bring some things about this administration, perfectly into focus.

The Adelson money has "bought" US foreign policy, particularly in the Middle East, where everything Israel wants, it gets granted; the Palestinians continue to get slaughtered; and Iran is in the crosshairs of the US for a shooting war and regime change.

KHASHOGGI’S LAST WORDS REVEALED AS TURKISH MEDIA PLANS TO PUBLISH AUDIO DEATH TAPE

A day after President Tayyip Erdogan dropped the latest bombshell related to the Saudi murder of Jamal Khashoggi, saying Turkey had handed over an audio recording of the journalist's brutal slaying inside the Istanbul consulate to the U.S., Saudi Arabia, Germany, France and Britain, the contents of Khashoggi's last words have emerged.

Editor for the the Turkish newspaper Daily Sabah, Nazif Karaman, shared some details from the audio tape with Al Jazeera. Karaman said Khashoggi's last words were:

“I’m suffocating… Take this bag off my head, I’m claustrophobic” – according what he confirmed is the authentic audio recording from inside the Istanbul consulate.

Meanwhile at the conclusion of the centennial anniversary of WWI ceremony in Paris President Erdogan's office confirmed he and President Trump discussed the Jamal Khashoggi killing on the sidelines of the weekend events.

Webmaster's Commentary:

If this happens, I think it would be a very good thing, particularly for those Americans who still naively believe that this country's government and military "only partner with governments who act in honor of humanity, responsibility, would never commit war crimes, and would never torture and kill."

IF this happens, it is about to usher in a floodgate of information about how the US is assisting Saudi Arabia in their war crimes in Yemen.

And thinking Americans will have to ask; "why am I a citizen of a country which aids and abets Saudi war crimes in Yemen"?!?

I have to wonder just what President Trump promised Erdogan, to prevent this from possibly happening; I also hope Erdogan didn't "take the bait" about releasing this audio.

ISRAEL KILLS 7 DURING GAZA RAID, ISRAELI OFFICER KILLED

Israeli forces killed seven Palestinians in the Gaza Strip on Sunday in air strikes and an undercover raid that Hamas said targeted one of its commanders and the Israeli military said left one of its officers dead, Reuters reports.

The Israeli incursion and air attacks drew rocket fire from the Hamas-controlled enclave, with sirens sounding in Israeli communities along the border. The military said its defences intercepted two of the launches. There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage on the Israeli side of the frontier.

The violence prompted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to cut short a visit to Paris, where he had been gathering with world leaders for a World War One commemoration.

Hamas said the incident began when assailants in a passing car opened fire on a group of its armed men, killing one of its commanders. Hamas gunmen gave chase as the car sped back towards the border with Israel, Hamas said in a statement.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Targeted assassinations has become rather a "specialty" for the IDF and Mossad.

Russia's city-destroying super-nuke Avangard that travels at TWENTY times the speed of sound will be ready for take-off next year

The Avangard hypersonic glide vehicle travels at 20 times the speed of sound and can hit targets anywhere in the world within half an hour.

The vehicle launches atop an intercontinental ballistic missile before sailing on top of the atmosphere toward its target.

It is loaded with advanced countermeasure systems that allow it to skirt around missile defence systems.

The gliders are also highly unpredictable thanks to their exceptional manoeuvrability, making them almost impossible to track.

Each weapon could be loaded with a nuclear warhead but experts say the sheer speed of the vehicles means they would do damage even without an explosive payload.

VETERAN'S DAY - WALTER LEWIS SMITH

So, here is one soldier; not a glyph on a wall, but a man with a name, a face, and a history. To his friends and family he was a real human being, even though to the War Department he was just another statistic.

But as I think back on him, I know for a fact that he and the millions of others who served in all the various wars the United States became entangled in would be shocked and saddened to see that the government for which they sacrificed so much has become the very embodiment of all that they fought so hard against. No more First Amendment, warrantless spying on Americans, show trials, confessions extracted by torture, rigged elections; for this Walter gave up a lung?

The 'War Party' Wins The Midterm Elections, Accelerating Transition To A Multipolar World Order Authored by Federico Pieraccini via The Strategic Culture Foundation,

The outcome of the American midterm elections gives us an even more divided country, confirming that the United States is in the midst of a deep crisis within its establishment.

Newly Revealed Docs Shed Light on UK's Intervention in Russia During WWI

British military intervention in Russia in 1918-1919 was unlawful and indefensible, British government papers held by the National Archives reveal. It has turned Russian public attitudes towards Britain from friendly to hostile.

In March 1918 the Bolshevik government signed a peace treaty with Germany, as they had promised to the nation exhausted by four years of the devastating and senseless WWI. The Russian Revolution was triggered by the overwhelming public desire for peace. The war-weary Russian army simply could not carry on fighting. Britain and France immediately accused Russia of betraying the Allied cause and sent in their troops. In a show of "solidarity" reminiscent of today, a dozen Anglo-French allies took part in the armed intervention in Russia. The official excuse was to keep the Eastern front against Germany and protect the Russian war materiel from falling into German hands.

US calls for end to South China Sea militarization, China says to stop sending warships

he US pressed China to halt militarization of the South China Sea during a joint news conference on talks aimed at smoothing already tense relations ahead of this month's G20 summit in Argentina.

“We have continued concerns about China's activities and militarization in the South China Sea,” US Secretary for State Mike Pompeo told media following talks on Friday with US Defence Secretary James Mattis and their Chinese counterparts.

We pressed China to live up to its past commitments in this area,” he added.

In response, Chinese Politburo member Yang Jiechi said the situation in the South China Sea was “treading towards greater stability,” but rebuked Washington over its sending of warships and military aircraft near Chinese islands and reefs, in what he described as actions that undermined Chinese interests.

Webmaster's Commentary:

War with China?!?

Just because it would be the most ham-fistedly, pig-headedly stupid thing for the US to do, is no guarantee that it will not do it.

And right now, if you have read any of my blogs this morning, about how the US is falling further behind in its weaponry, vis a vis the Chinese and Russians, you will understand that this country should be making every effort to avoid a military confrontation with either, or both, countries.

Hezbollah Leader Vows to Respond to Any Israeli Attack on Lebanon - Reports

Historically tense relations between Israel and the Lebanon-based group hit a new low this autumn after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accused Hezbollah of building a missile factory and hiding it in the civilian infrastructure of Beirut's international airport.

During a televised speech on Saturday, Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah said that the movement would retaliate against any Israeli attack on Lebanon.

"Any attack will definitely and certainly be responded to," he said.

Speaking at the UN General Assembly in September, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu provided satellite images of what he claimed were Hezbollah precision-guided missile installations at Beirut's international airport. He also accused the group of using Beirut's residents as human shields and emphasized that Israel would 'not let [Hezbollah] get away with' their behaviour.

Webmaster's Commentary:

At least, Netanyahu wasn't showing off "An Iranian cartoon bomb" this year; but things are getting immensely tense in the region, and one stupid mistake, one simple misunderstanding, could lead to a military showdown between Israel, Lebanon, and Iran.

And on such a potential for horrific violence, I would politely like to ask President Trump to pick his battles in such a conflict very, very carefully.

Watch China Show Off Its Newest Stealth Jet In Dazzling Flight Demo

Beijing’s fifth-generation stealth jets displayed a dazzling fifteen-minute performance earlier this week at Airshow China 2018. The jets wowed more than 20,000 spectators by performing combat maneuvers in Zhuhai, South China's Guangdong Province, said People's Daily Online.

The J-20 stealth jets were first unveiled to the public at Airshow China 2016.

Wei Dongxu, a Beijing-based military expert, told the Global Times on Tuesday that the J-20s sported a new camouflage look for improved stealth capability.

It seems that China's fifth-generation stealth capabilities could be on par with the US. This threat will certainly not going unanswered by the West. China is preparing for war with new stealth technology, as a trade war between both countries is spiraling out of control. When trade stops, that is when a hot conflict could develop over the South China Sea.I

Webmaster's Commentary:

The question is not why China has this technology, but why isn't the US military industrial complex way ahead of them with this kind of technology?!?

Clueless Journalist Gets Dragged For Saying ‘America Isn’t At War’ In Election Day Tweet

Klein, the founder and editor-at-large for Vox.com, made the claim in a tweet about the mid term election on Tuesday, opining on why the Democrats took the House of Representatives. Comparing 2018 to 2008 — when Democrats took power amid a war in Iraq and Afghanistan — Klein argued that the Tuesday election was a “pure repudiation” of Trump, since unemployment was so low and America was no longer at war.

The only problem, of course, is that America is still at war in the same places it was in 2008, in Iraq and Afghanistan — albeit with a smaller footprint. And U.S. troops are still fighting and dying there: On the same day as Klein’s tweet, the remains of Army Maj. Brent Taylor touched down at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware; he was killed Saturday in Afghanistan, leaving behind a wife and seven children.

Webmaster's Commentary:

From his abysmally tone-deaf evaluation that "the US is not at war", This man must be a Common Core graduate, because he demonstrates absolutely zero ability to do any critical thinking about what he doesn't see in the corporate media, and because of it, is a very "useful idiot" for the American Deep State.

Mohammed Bin Salman: Too Big To Fail

A month after the murder of Jamal Khashoggi at the Saudi Arabian consulate in Istanbul, an international consensus is emerging about how to respond: deplore the crime, demand justice, but don’t cut ties with the kingdom. In particular, don’t cut off Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the man widely believed to have ordered the killing of the dissident journalist.

The ambitious, impetuous crown prince, known as MbS, is probably damaged goods as a person. He’s unlikely to receive another lavish welcome in Silicon Valley any time soon. But he has become the diplomatic equivalent of some big banks: too big to fail.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Looking at the lack of consequences after the assassination happened, (not to mention the thousands of dead and dying, courtesy of Saudi Arabia's invasion of Yemen), I think Lippman is entirely correct in his assessment.

Yemen Peace Talks Delayed as Saudi Backed Assault Continues

The US demand for an immediate ceasefire in Yemen never happened, with US-backed factions continuing to attack the port city of Hodeidah. US promises of Yemen peace talks in November are also now being postponed.

Officials are presenting the talks, despite initially being presented as happening some time this month, as being set for early December. Now, they say if the talks happen at all, it will be in late December.

Some diplomats are suggesting the postponement is because of concerns that the Houthis won’t show up. The Houthis did not attend the previous talks, because they could not get assurances from the Saudis that their delegation would be allowed to safely travel, and the US seems no more willing to offer such assurances.

Webmaster's Commentary:

With a huge offensive being planned for Hodeida Saudi baked forces announce a vast offensive to to take Hodeidah Port, The Saudis will not be happy with any peace from the Houthis, other than pure capitulation.

DEMOCRATIC HOUSE HURTS SPACE CORPS, NUKE MODERNIZATION, & PENTAGON TOPLINE

WASHINGTON: The Democrats’ recapturing the House means three major impacts on the Defense Department: The odds are that controversial Trump priorities like new nuclear weapons and a Space Force will go nowhere, defense budgets will go down, and oversight will go up, up, up.

Program winners and losers

The most likely losers are nuclear modernization programs, which leading Democrats like Adam Smith, the prospective House Armed Services Committee chairman, have criticized as unnecessary, excessive, and destabilizing.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I would POLITELY invite every Democrat who doesn't get how seriously behind the curve the US in its weaponry, to read the following article from blacklistednews.com:

Russia deploys its Avangard Glide Vehicle, the unmatched leader in hypersonic flight

And as I type this on Oahu,. at 6:30 AM in the morning, THE US MILITARY HAS UTTERLY NO DEFENSE AGAINST THIS WEAPON.

UN FOOD STORAGE FACILITY TARGETED AS SAUDI TROOPS ADVANCE ON HODEIDA

At least 15 civilians were killed on Thursday after Saudi-led coalition aircraft and artillery carried out strikes against a residential area in Yemen’s strategic western province of Hodeida and the border areas of Sadaa.

A local source told MintPress News that Saudi jets conducted airstrikes against the al-Jabaliyah area in the al-Tuheita district in southern Hodeida on Thursday afternoon, killing 45-year-old Hassan al Ameri and his four daughters Sumiah, Hunood, Laila and Hend, who ranged in age from eight months to nine years old. Al Ameri’s twelve-year-old son, Ali, was also killed in the attack.

On Friday, three women were killed when Saudi border guards targeted their village in the Razeh district with artillery fire. The village has been under intensive artillery and missile attack since the Saudi-led coalition, supported by the United States, renewed its large-scale offensive weeks ago.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am frankly waiting for the Butcher of Yemen (AKA, Saudi Crown Prince Bin Salman) to order a carpet bombing of all civilians left at Hodeida, but leaving the port infrastructure intact.

WHY THE U.S. MILITARY IS WOEFULLY UNPREPARED FOR A MAJOR CONVENTIONAL CONFLICT

While Secretary Mattis describes the “near peer” nations China and Russia as “revisionist powers”, it was not these nations that made the irresponsible and reckless decisions that have weakened the U.S. military establishment, nor aim to revise the ill-conceived and executed catastrophes of their American “peers”.

They have reached a state of military and technological parity with, and in many cases a position of superiority vis a vis the United States, because they exercised better judgement over the past two decades, invested their time, talent and treasure in developing powerful conventional and nuclear forces, and refrained from using their national defense assets to punish their perceived adversaries in such a way that more damage was caused to themselves.

RUSSIA DEPLOYS ITS AVANGARD GLIDE VEHICLE – THE UNMATCHED LEADER IN HYPERSONIC TECHNOLOGY

The boost-glide weapon can fly at speeds of over Mach 20 or about 15,300 miles per hour (four miles per second). It could reach Washington in 15 minutes even if launched from Russia. There is no way to intercept it, as it moves in a cloud of plasma “like a meteorite.” The weapon is distinctive for its ability to withstand extreme heat during the final phase of its trajectory thanks to its heat-resistant titanium casing. Its in-flight temperature reaches 1,600-2,000° Celsius.

It is impossible to predict the direction of its approach. Installed on the 200-ton Sarmat, the Avangard could be sent into the desired orbit at an altitude of 100 km from Earth using a pre-booster, gliding to its target at a speed of Mach 20 (5-7 km/s) while maneuvering with the help of stabilizers. It can make rapid course changes in the atmosphere. Its signatures are quite different from those of traditional ICBMs. Advanced countermeasure systems increase its ability to penetrate missile defenses.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The problem here is not that Russia has this technology; the problem is that the US weaponry makers have no defense against it.

And how did that happen?!?

Due to an horrific combination of generous contributions to both sides of the aisle by the military industrial complex, and an absolute lethargy on the part of this industry, when it actually came to beating the Russians at their own defense game.

One would think that with all the money this country spends on weapons systems, that there would be ... at least something in the Avangard's class, developed years ago by US weapons makers; but there is not, leaving this country thoroughly defenseless against its deployment.

And THAT, on the part of both Congress, and the military industrial complex, is utterly criminal.

US Hopes Russia Will Allow Israel to Bomb Iranian Forces in Syria

The US is seeking to push all foreign military forces from Syria, the US ambassador to the country said. Besides Russian ones, of course.

US Ambassador to Syria James Jeffrey said Wednesday that Washington hopes Russia will allow Israeli forces to bomb Iranian military forces in Syrian territory after the delivery of S-300 air defense systems.

"Russia has been permissive, in consultation with the Israelis, about Israeli strikes against Iranian targets inside Syria. We certainly hope that that permissive approach will continue," Jeffrey said during a press conference, according to Business Insider.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I don't know the Russian translation of "no way!" is, but I am hoping that is what the Russians will tell the Israelis.

Should such a thing happen, if an Israeli plane is able to "take out" one of the S-300 systems, you will most likely find the Russian forces in hot, military pursuit.

And of course, the US would have to defend Israel, militarily, in Syria, so the danger may be both real and critically and far beyond any way of "defusing" of the situation.

Israel Seeks Closer Cooperation with Gulf States over Fears of Iran – Report

The visit of Israeli Transportation and Intelligence Minister Yisrael Katz to Oman earlier this week has signaled a change of policy in the region, observers say.

Earlier this week, Katz arrived in Oman — reportedly to propose a new railway project that would connect Israel's Haifa to the Persian Gulf through Jordan and Saudi Arabia.

During his visit, he also called for stronger relations with the Persian Gulf Arab states in civilian sectors such as transportation, commercial aviation and tourism, PressTV reports.

The trip was one more in a chain of visits by Israeli officials to Gulf States — the most important of which was the surprise visit of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to Oman several weeks earlier.

Saudi-Led Coalition in Yemen Asks US to Stop Refueling Its Aircraft - Reports

The Trump administration is ending the practice of air refueling Saudi-coalition aircraft and its decision is expected to be made public in the next few days, US media reported.

The decision would end a tangible and controversial aspect of US support for the Saudi coalition’s war in Yemen, the Washington Post newspaper said on Friday.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This will not stop Saudi slaughter in Yemen, but it is, at least in a minor way, an expression of "discontent' with Saudi Arabia's genocide in Yemen.

Iran's Leadership Must Decide "If They Want Their People To Eat" - Pompeo

Less than a week after US Secretary of State Secretary Mike Pompeo told Fox News Sunday that the "Iranians are responsible for the starvation' of Yemeni civilians" he's again issued hugely provocative words, telling the BBC during an interview that Iranian "leadership has to make a decision that they want their people to eat" in reference to the latest round of US sanctions.

As the interview was with BBC Persian, Pompeo's words were immediately translated from English and broadcast to the Iranian public through BBC's Persian-language publication. Pompeo repeated his theme that Iran is the world's foremost state sponsor of terror and a "destabilizing influence" in the Middle East while ultimately blaming the country's economic suffering on the intransigence of the country's leaders.

Webmaster's Commentary:

That this guy can stand there and lie, while people in Yemen continue to die, due to US/Saudi war crimes, including bombing sorties; the creation of starvation through blockading Yemen's ports, and destroying the water infrastructure, allowing thousands of Yemeni to die of cholera, must be an amazing gift in the wacky world of DC.

Sorry, Mike, but as long as you are going to continue to lie about the situation on the ground, I will stay compelled, as a Christian pacifist activist, to document what the US/Saudi war against Yemen is actually doing. (warning: very graphic images):

Images: Yemeni children dead and maimed for life, courtesy of US-enabled bombing runs

Images: Yemeni children dying from malnutrition, courtesy of US Military-enabled Saudi Yemen port blockade

Images: Yemeni children treated for, and dying of cholera, possibly weaponized

Notice that none of the presstitutes and warmongers on corporate media are not saying a word about the Saudi genocide in Yemen, which is why I must.

Trump Reportedly Wants To Replace Ross By Year End

Update: Adding to speculation that Ross's time in Trump's cabinet is coming to a close, Bloomberg has reported that Trump has been telling friends that he wants to replace Ross by year's end.

Just two days after President Trump ousted Attorney General Jeff Sessions, Politico is reporting that Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross might be the next cabinet official to leave the administration as part of Trump's widely expected cabinet reshuffle.

Trump has reportedly grown frustrated with Ross over reports of his unsavory and ruthless business practices as well as his perceived ineptitude in negotiating trade deals. The president has repeatedly humiliated Ross in front of other administration officials, and accused him of being "past his prime," according to Bob Woodward's book "Fear."

Saudi Crown Prince Claims Assassination Attempt Against Him Was Thwarted

BBC Arabic reports based an exclusive Jerusalem Post story that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman told a group of Evangelical leaders who met with him in Riyadh earlier this month there was a recent plot to assassinate him, and that the plan was thwarted by Egyptian intelligence.

The Jerusalem Post first broke the story this week based on accounts of the returning Evangelical delegation who met with the crown prince on November 1. Joel Rosenberg, who led the delegation of American Evangelical Christians said MbS relayed that the head of Egyptian intelligence recently came to Riyadh to inform Saudi authorities that a terrorist cell with Saudi citizens had been caught in northern Sinai. “They were planning to assassinate me,” MbS told the American delegation.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I cannot decide if this is Prince Bin Salman "jumping the shark" with this story, or if it is a pitiful bid for sympathy, to deflect both from his unrelenting "scorched earth" policy in Yemen, and the assassination of Khashoggi.

Millions in Yemen Are Starving and UK, US and France Are ‘Behind This’: Oxfam Representative

he US, UK, and French governments are behind millions of people starving in Yemen because they are “supporting this war,” an Oxfam representative told RT, urging London to stop beefing up Saudi Arabia’s military.

“We have 14 million people starving,” Richard Stanforth, Oxfam UK’s regional policy officer for the Middle East, said.

British, French, American governments are all behind this, they are all supporting this war.

Stanforth blamed the British government in particular, saying that London should stop its arms sales to Saudi Arabia, which is accused of targeting food supplies and even no-strike locations in Yemen.

“We’ve seen attacks on water infrastructure, on hospitals, warehouses of food. This pattern is continuing. Certainly, it’s the airstrikes that are killing most civilians,” he said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Even with all the positive publicity about Oxfam, I sincerely hope and pray that Richard Stanforth is wearing his Kevlar undies; the people signing those arms deals, including the US's Merchant of Death in Chief, aka Donald Trump, doesn't like the world really seeing what happens to the arms they are selling Saudi Arabia.

A Badge of Shame: The Government’s War on America’s Military Veterans

Despite the fact that the U.S. boasts more than 20 million veterans who have served in World War II through the present day, the plight of veterans today is America’s badge of shame, with large numbers of veterans impoverished, unemployed, traumatized mentally and physically, struggling with depression, suicide, and marital stress, homeless, subjected to sub-par treatment at clinics and hospitals, and left to molder while their paperwork piles up within Veterans Administration offices.

Still, the government’s efforts to wage war on veterans, especially those who speak out against government wrongdoing, is downright appalling.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Absoflippinglutely unbelievable, but perfectly predictable from this government!! Criminalizing, if you will, "branding" psychological or physical problems in this way, is blatantly cruel, as though these people haven't suffered enough.

U.S. arms exports up 13 percent over 2017 as Trump champions deals

- U.S. arms sales to foreign governments rose 13 percent to $192.3 billion in the year ending Sept. 30, the State Department said on Thursday, a result of looser restrictions on sales coupled with high-level efforts to close deals.

President Donald Trump wants to make the United States, already dominant in the global weapons trade, an even bigger arms merchant to the world, U.S. officials have said, despite concerns among human rights and arms control advocates.

The largest U.S. arms contractors, who sell ships, tanks, airplanes, missiles and other goods to foreign militaries, include Boeing Co (BA.N), Lockheed Martin Corp (LMT.N), Raytheon Co (RTN.N), General Dynamics Corp (GD.N) and Northrop Grumman Corp (NOC.N).

The increase came in part because the Trump administration rolled out a new “Buy American” plan in April that relaxed restrictions on sales while encouraging U.S. officials to take a bigger role in increasing business overseas for the U.S. weapons industry

Webmaster's Commentary:

I never used to believe that the US would tolerate a President masquerading as its Merchant of Death in Chief; now, it appears we have one.

Trump Administration Considers Declaring Yemen’s Houthis ‘Terrorists’

Just weeks after promising to back a peace effort in Yemen, the Trump Administration is reportedly considering labeling the Shi’ite Houthi movement in northern Yemen, one of the principal forces, a terrorist organization.

The move appears unrelated to US policy in Yemen itself. Rather, it reflects the Trump Administration’s desire to go after perceived Iranian allies. Saudi Arabia, who is attacking the Houthis, has accused them of being in league with Iran.

In reality, the Houthis have always had limited connections to Iran. But making them a US-labeled terrorist group would not only greatly undermine the Houthis, it would complicate the peace talks to the point of making them nearly impossible.

Perhaps even worse, a terrorist label would make it even harder to deliver humanitarian aid into northern Yemen.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It is glaringly apparent that neither President Trump, nor one of his BFFs in the Middle East, the Butcher of Yemen, aka Crown Prince Bin Salman, do not want peace, but to continue the horrific war, in which the US is enabling Saudi war crimes.

Such a declaration will also accelerate making aid more impossible to get to starving Yemeni people, and contribute to more children gunned down in Saudi raids, starving to death, and vulnerable to cholera.

This is precisely where the US and the Saudi leadership wants the Yemeni people to be.

WHY THE U.S. MILITARY IS WOEFULLY UNPREPARED FOR A MAJOR CONVENTIONAL CONFLICT

In the Department of Defense authored summary of the National Defense Strategy of the United States for 2018, Secretary James Mattis quite succinctly sets out the challenges and goals of the U.S. military in the immediate future. Importantly, he acknowledges that the U.S. had become far too focused on counter-insurgency over the past two decades, but he seems to miss the causation of this mission in the first place. U.S. foreign policy, and its reliance on military intervention to solve all perceived problems, regime change and imperialist adventurism, resulted in the need to occupy nations, or destroy them. This leads to the growth of insurgencies, and the strengthening of long simmering religious radicalism and anti-western sentiment in the Middle East and Central Asia. The U.S. military willfully threw itself headlong into a self-fulfilling prophecy.

US Wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan Killed 500,000 People

Brown University has released a new study on the cost in lives of America’s Post-9/11 Wars, in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. The study estimates between 480,000 and 507,000 people were killed in the course of the three conflicts.

This includes combatant deaths and civilian deaths in fighting and war violence. Civilians make up over half of the roughly 500,000 killed, with both opposition fighters and US-backed foreign military forces each sustaining in excess of 100,000 deaths as well.

This is admittedly a dramatic under-report of people killed in the wars, as it only attempts to calculate those killed directly in war violence, and not the massive number of others civilians who died from infrastructure damage or other indirect results of the wars. The list also excludes the US war in Syria, which itself stakes claims to another 500,000 killed since 2011.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This study reminds me that, as Karl Marx so succinctly stated, all wars are economic in origin.

In Afghanistan, you have the pipelines; the rare earth minerals, and the poppy crops; in Iraq, you have the pipelines; and in Pakistan, you have an embarrassment of resources: Natural Resources of Pakistan

The US government's MO, in more recent years, post 9/11, has been to destabilize, regime change, insuring that they are installing a US-centric government, then selling that countries only through "approved corporations, and only in US dollars.

But that even one person dies, let alone numbers like these, are appallingly immoral, and as though the US government, collectively, will be able to continue these practices with complete impunity.

Unfortunately, however, as history has taught us, the US government may find itself on a "bridge too far" from one of these future military misadventures, and unable to extricate itself from the potentially very brutal results of these wars.

US Project Thor Would Fire Tungsten Poles at Targets From Outer Space

As the threat of space-based weapons - and treaties to limit them - occupies an increasingly large part of defense spending and international competition, nations have sought loopholes in existing treaties to get a leg up on their opponents, including placing kinetic energy weapons in orbit.

The US Air Force's "Project Thor" revives a dream weapons manufacturers have had since the dawn of nuclear weapons: how to create damage equivalent to a nuclear bomb without the trouble of nuclear radiation and fallout. Kinetic bombardment, once prohibitively expensive, is now back on the agenda, since it involves no explosives and is not technically barred from being put into orbit by the Outer Space Treaty.

CHINA'S BRIGHTEST CHILDREN ARE BEING RECRUITED TO DEVELOP AI 'KILLER BOTS' - SLASHDOT

According to The South China Morning Post, "some of China's smartest students have been recruited straight from high school to begin training as the world's youngest AI weapons scientists." A total of 27 boys and four girls all under the age of 18 were chosen for the four-year "experimental program for intelligent weapons systems" at the Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) from more than 5,000 candidates. From the report:The BIT is one of the country's top weapons research institutes, and the launch of the new program is evidence of the weight it places on the development of AI technology for military use. "These kids are all exceptionally bright, but being bright is not enough," said a BIT professor who was involved in the screening process but asked not to be named because of the sensitivity of the subject. "We are looking for other qualities such as creative thinking, willingness to fight, a persistence when facing challenges," he said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Again here, the problem is not that China is doing this; the problem is that the US really has no similar programs to offer its young, gifted people, but without the strictures of a totalitarian form of government.

And about the issue of "patriotism"; patriotism is earned by a government performing its job intelligently and effectively, and without expropriating the resources of other countries and selling them only for the US dollar, through war and destabilization, which has been the US government's MO far too long.

I wish that this government would realize that the size of its national debt is really a challenge to its long-term survival.

I also wish that the deep state corruption, which is generational in this government, could be rooted out.

I also wish that this country would not aid and abet the war crimes of other nations.

I also wish that this country didn't torture, or outsource torture.

With these things sorted, I could become very patriotic, instead of perpetually, deeply concerned about the trajectory of US foreign and domestic policies, and their implications.

FRANCE SUPPORTING IRAN AGAINST US ‘TRADE POLICEMAN’

France has vowed to fulfill plans to defy the US’ sanctions on Iran while increasing the international role of the euro in order to prevent Washington from acting as the world’s “trade policeman”.

France’s Minister of Economy and Finance, Bruno Le Maire, told the British newspaper Financial Times that Europe is planning the formation of a special financial channel to Iran in order to keep trade flowing with the country and assure its own “economic sovereignty”, with the aim of making the euro as powerful as the dollar.

“Europe refuses to allow the US to be the trade policeman of the world,” Le Maire stated in an interview in Brussels, emphasising that Europe must “affirm our sovereignty” in regards to the US sanctions on Iran and its wider economic hegemony.

Webmaster's Commentary:

These sanctions placed by the US, are beginning to blow up in President Trump's face, somewhat akin to the actions of a bad trick cigar.

So, what does President Trump intend to do with those countries who will not observe the sanctions, go to war against them?!?

In withdrawing from the P5 +1 agreement, plus his never-ending sanctions against Russia and China, President Trump has set this country up for some really intense economic challenges, for which I do not believe he has any clue as to how to alleviate.

Just ask any American soybean farmer as China has stopped buy American soybeans:

Their Soybeans Piling Up, Farmers Hope Trade War Ends Before Beans Rot

Rather than punishing Iran, Russia and China, President Trump should be engaging the leadership of all three countries in a positive, constructive way, because if human civilization is going to survive on this planet, that has to come from universal cooperation, one country with the other, and the elimination of war as "the only way" in which DC resolves its geopolitical and financial issues.

RUSSIA & CHINA INVEST IN INFRASTRUCTURE; U.S. INSTEAD SPENDS ON MILITARY

China’s “Belt and Road Initiative” is famous as an extension of their domestic infrastructure investments, but Russia is also investing heavily in infrastructure. Both countries need to do it in order to improve the future for their respective populations, and both Governments have avoided the Western development model of going heavily into debt in order to pay for creating and maintaining infrastructure. Both are, in fact, exceptionally low-debt Governments.

According to the “Global Debt Clock” at Economist, China has a public debt/GDP of 17.7%, and Russia’s is 8.0%. For comparison, America’s is 93.6%. (Others are: Germany 85.8%, Spain 91.2%, Italy 122.6%, Greece 147.1%, India 54.2%, Pakistan 47.0%, and Brazil 55.0%.)

Webmaster's Commentary:

Unfortunately for Russia and China, there are folks in the bowels of power in DC who are very urgently preparing for just such a war between the US, Russia, and China. As reported last year by Paul Craig Roberts:

Washington plans a nuclear strike on Russia and China

This is no fluke, and Roberts is just about as serious in this reporting as is a heart attack. His credibility, as a conservative observer of geopolitics, is rarely wrong.

Right now, we are looking at one of NATO's biggest exercises in Europe taking place, NATO holding its biggest exercises sing the Cold War,and a joint US/Japanese plan to do "Freedom of Navigation" exercises in the South China Sea next spring.

US, Japan plan a military response to Chinese incursions of disputed islands, plans for which are getting finalized this coming March.

I would suggest that the phrase "March Madness" may have an entirely new meaning, should those exercises be signed off on, and realized by both countries.

And I say that because a US-generated war with Russia (and/or China) would horrifically reflect the madness of this country's leadership, in not realising that war with these countries may not be winnable, because the US military doesn't have the money, the troop strength, the manufacturing, or the weaponry to insure a positive outcome for the US.

Not all heroes wear the uniform of war.

In the United States, however, we take particular pride in recognizing as heroes those who have served in the military.

Yet while we honor our veterans with holidays, parades, discounts at retail stores and restaurants, and endless political rhetoric about their sacrifice and bravery, we do a pitiful job of respecting their freedoms and caring for their needs once out of uniform.

Army Wants Sergeants in the Barracks on Weekends to Prevent Suicides

The U.S. Army's top official said Thursday that he wants to see sergeants making regular visits to the barracks on weekends to help reduce the number of soldiers who die by suicide.

Suicide is a problem that every service struggles to prevent. In calendar year 2017, 509 U.S. military personnel died by suicide, according to Defense Department numbers. Of that number, the Army suffered 298 deaths by suicide across the active duty, National Guard and Reserve.

"It's a tragedy that we have suicide in our ranks, but it's coming into our ranks from society writ large," Army Secretary Mark Esper told an audience at the American Enterprise Institute. "Every week, I am signing letters to families offering my condolences for soldiers who have taken their lives."

“Flashpoint for War”: U.S. and Japan Plan Military Response to Chinese Incursions of Disputed Islands

Things are again rapidly heating up in the East China Sea amidst already heightened tensions in a region where Washington is increasingly asserting the right of navigation in international waters against broad Chinese claims and seeking to defend the territorial possessions of its allies.

According to a bombshell new Reuters report the tiny and rocky Senkaku Islands which lie between northern Taiwan and the Japanese home islands are “rapidly turning into a flashpoint for war”. Alarmingly, Japanese government sources have been quoted as saying Tokyo and the United States are drawing up an operations plan for an allied military response to Chinese threats to the disputed Senkaku Islands.

From nearly the start of his entering the White House, President Trump has said he’s committed to upholding Article 5 of the US-Japan security treaty signed the post-war years of the mid-20th century:

Webmaster's Commentary:

This would be the most dangerous game of "chicken" ever played out by US and Japanese military service members against China; I would really like some thoughts emanating from the White House or State Department, indicating that such an action would never be undertaken.

However, unfortunately, I have lived long enough to understand that just because something is the most ham-fistedly, pig-headedly stupid thing the US government and military could possibly do, there is absolutely no guarantee that they will not do it.

US, Turkey Risk Direct Military Clash as They Escalate War in Syria

As it pursues its war with US-backed Kurdish-nationalist organizations, the Turkish government is threatening an outright military occupation of large parts of Syria that could provoke war with Syria and a direct clash with US forces.

On Tuesday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan denounced joint patrols by US forces and Kurdish-led militias as “unacceptable.” Speaking to reporters in Ankara, he said:

“Not only can we not accept (the joint patrols), such a development will cause serious problems at the border.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

This looks as though the situation for the American military could get very dicey, very quickly, and particularly if the Russians start shelling American positions, and US troops retaliate.

But the bottom line here is, we shouldn't be in Syria in the first place! We were not invited, nor were the Turks; the Russians and Iranians were, and have been very successful in kicking out the jihadis.

Operation 'Enduring Defeat'? DoD Admits US May Need To "Stay In Iraq For Decades"

Why a self-reliant Iraqi military may take ‘years, if not decades’ and could require a ‘generation’ to reform.

Despite reports that the Islamic State terrorist group has lost 99 percent of its territory and shifted to insurgent tactics in Iraq and Syria, a recent report said an enduring defeat of the organization could take “years, if not decades.”

This, according to Department of Defense information provided to investigators with the DoD Inspector General, is in large part due to what is still needed to make Iraqi security forces “self-reliant.”

“Systemic weaknesses remain, many of which are the same deficiencies that enabled the rise of ISIS in 2014,” according to the quarterly IG report on Operation Inherent Resolve, the counter-ISIS operation that spans Iraq and Syria.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Dear Sec Def Mattis; has the DOD sent that memo to this effect to the gentleman now controlling the Iraqi Parliament, Muqtada al-Sadr?!?

Because if you don't remember him, please let me refresh your memory.

He was the guy who stated that if one American service member was found in Iraq any time after the date stipulated by the SOFA agreement, they were "fair game" for his Shiite militia, the Madhi Army in Iraq.

US-Backed Troops Take Main Road to Yemen’s Vital Aid Port

US-backed forces loyal to the Saudi and UAE governments continue to attack the main Yemeni aid port of Hodeidah Wednesday. While the city itself remains unbreached, ground troops have seized the main road leading into the city, even more tightly restricting flow to and from it.

The Saudi-led naval blockade has put Yemen, which relies on food imports for over 90% of its food, on the brink of a major famine. Hodeidah is the main import site for food, and the last port under the control of the Houthi movement. If the port falls, there will be no way to get food to almost the entire north of the country.

The Houthis are using snipers to keep ground troops from entering the main port area after weeks of offensives. In recent days, they’ve also started tire fires to try to obscure visibility of the port, in an attempt to make it harder for Saudi warships to target the city.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It appears to be only a matter of time before Saudi and US troops have control of Hodeida.

This should fall well within the end of the month that Mattis has set for peace talks to start, as thousands more Yemeni continue to die from malnutrition.

Masquerading Reforms: The Tricks of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman

The surgical dismembering of Jamal Khashoggi has sent the military establishments of several countries into a tizz. Arms manufacturers are wondering whether this is an inconvenient blip, a ruffling moral reminder about what they are dealing with. Autocratic regimes indifferent to the lives of journalists are wondering whether the fuss taken about all this is merely the fuss endured, till the next bloody suppression. But importantly, those states notionally constituting the West may have to reconsider the duping strategy that the House of Saud has executed with the deft efficiency of the dedicated axeman.

Webmaster's Commentary:

My sense of this is, that the Butcher of Yemen, AKA Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, will be allowed to stand, and never charged for this crime; this is because the US and the UK do not want to give up all that revenue for their weapons which they have sold to Saudi Arabia for his use in the creating the expanding genocide in Yemen.

Additionally, Israel is siding with Saudi Arabia against Iran, so one can see how this is sorting out, in terms of who will be aligned with whom in the next coming regional war.

Some poor underschmuck will be blamed, and punished, and just like magic, the Butcher of Yemen will have been wiped clean of his deeds, with an extra dose of corporate sales-bleach added to the last spin cycle.

State Dept: US to Impose New Set of Sanctions Against Russia Over Skripal Attack

The United States intends to move forward with imposing additional sanctions against Russia for the attack against Russian double agent Sergei Skripal as required by law, State Department Spokesperson Heather Nauert told Sputnik on Tuesday.

"Today, the Department informed Congress we could not certify that the Russian Federation met the conditions required by the Chemical and Biological Weapons Control and Warfare Elimination Act of 1991," Nauert said. "We intend to proceed in accordance with the terms of the CBW Act, which directs the implementation of additional sanctions."

Webmaster's Commentary:

Forgive me, but isn't the ultimate authority for inspecting for chemical weapons on this planet done by the CWC, the Chemical Weapons Convention, and administered by the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons ?!?The financial sanctions, if they are to be placed against Russia, would be under the OPCW's control, not the US government's control.

And is this not precisely same body which reported the United States in non-compliance in 2017?!? The article states:

US Fails to Comply with Chemical Weapons Convention While Using Internationally Banned Weapons The article goes on to state:

Russia strictly complies with its commitments in accordance with the Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Production, Stockpiling and Use of Chemical Weapons and on their Destruction (the Chemical Weapons Convention – CWC). On June 12, it announced that all sarin chemical agent stockpiles had been destroyed. Before that Russia had also eliminated the stockpiles of mustard gas and soman. All in all, Russia has destroyed 99% of all stockpiles.

"The United States promised, but failed, to destroy its stocks by 2012. The complete destruction is expected to take place only by the end of 2023 at best. The efforts to neutralize the remaining munitions have slowed to a trickle in recent years. The Army’s Pueblo Chemical Depot in southern Colorado still has a long way to go to full operational capacity expected to be reached no earlier than 2018. The Blue Grass Army Depot near Richmond, Kentucky, is being built and is expected to start operations only somewhere in 2023 – roughly eleven years after the date the US promised to destroy all the stockpiles, and eight, may be nine, years after the Russian Federation."
The US was given an extension until 2023 by the Arms Control Association until 2023 to get rid of its Category 1 chemical weapons.
"

There has been absolutely zero evidence that Russia has not fully complied with this destruction of their chemical weapons as promised: this is just more propaganda, and demonization, functioning as a prelude toward a war against Russia.

Wow, attempting to lie to to the American public and the world, when actual facts on the ground prove the polar opposite of your statements, must be a great job; that's why you are on President Trump's short list as the US Envoy to the UN!! Congrats!!

Video: Former US-backed Militants “Switch Sides” in Syria War. Now Fighting against US-led Coalition

Former members of US-backed militant groups are joining forces with the Lebanese Hezbollah movement, operating in Syria, the WSJ reported on November 1. According to the report, approximately 2,000 fighters had joined the forces and have even started receiving salaries. The WSJ claimed that it was due to losing funding from the US. However, the reason pointed out by local experts is that the US strategy in Syria had lost credit even in the eyes of some of its own proxies. In the period from 2016 to 2018, thousands of former members of militant groups had reconciled with the Damascus government. A notable part of them is now serving in the newly formed units of the Syrian military, for example the Shield of Qalamoun.

The United States military is actively fighting in seven Muslim-majority countries; and no one cares. As Americans go to the polls today in a ritual pretense of democracy, they will vote for one of the two major political parties on issues ranging from healthcare to immigration to the basic personality of President Donald Trump. The three mainstream networks – from "liberal" MSNBC to "conservative" Fox News – have reported on little else for the last several months. The whole charade is little more than politics-as-entertainment.

I do not know who, in their "to do" list of destabilization and invasions, the US government is going to attack next; but I can tell you, if either Russia or China get into the fray on the side of the attacked country, it is very possible that the US military may not be able to win, because they do not have the weaponry; the troop strength; the money, or the manufacturing to insure a positive outcome to a conventional war.

Bolton: More Sanctions Against Iran Are Coming

On Monday, the US completed the reimposition of all US sanctions against Iran which had been relaxed under the P5+1 nuclear deal. President Trump withdrew the US from the deal in May, and there was a six month window after the announcement before sanctions could be resumed.

According to national security adviser John Bolton, this is only the beginning. During a Monday interview with Fox Business, Bolton insisted that the administration plans to “even go beyond this,” and that more sanctions are coming.

He was not specific on what that means, but Bolton did say that the administration would not “be content with going back to the level of sanctions that existed under Obama in 2015.” The 2015 sanctions were nearly a full blockade of Iran, and it’s not clear what additional sanctions are even possible.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It appears that the US government wants to attempt to get Iran's economy derailed as humanly possible; but if that doesn't work in time, look for a false flag, to be blamed on Iran, to be the justification of US military action against it.

DEIR EZ ZOR, SYRIA – The U.S.-led coalition in Syria has been accused of using white phosphorus incendiary munitions for the fourth time since mid-September. White phosphorus is banned internationally when used in areas with civilian populations.

Syrian state news agency SANA reported on a bombing conducted by the U.S.-led coalition that had targeted the small city of Hajin in Syria’s Eastern Deir Ez-Zor province over the weekend. The bombing, allegedly intended to target Daesh (ISIS) terrorists who control the city, killed fifteen civilians – among them women and children – and injured scores more. Civil sources cited by SANA reported that white phosphorus bombs had been used, which – in addition to resulting in several civilian deaths and injuries — caused massive property damage due to the fires resulting from the use of the banned substance.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am thoroughly amazed that by now, President Trump, who seems to be very excited about the possibility of overtaking President Bush's record for the most slaughtered innocents, in both Syria and Yemen, hasn't just ordered a complete carpet bombing of Syria with white phosphorous, including , perhaps, a decap strike, using the chemical, on Damascus.

Most probably, because those with camera-equipped cell phones in Damascus, will be sending images of this carnage around the world, so people can document precisely what damage these bombs are causing to both people, and the infrastructure.

But there is another question which must be asked, and that is, just how long will Russia's President Putin will put up with this nonsense until he feels he has to respond militarily?

He has acted with great restraint in these incidents; but there will be a point of no return for him, as long as the "Coalition" continues "playing picador" with Russia by committing these war crimes.

Six US Army Officials Reprimanded Over Deadly Niger Ambush

The US Army has reportedly reprimanded four officers and two enlisted soldiers involved in the ambush in Niger on October 4 last year that resulted in the deaths of four American and four Nigerien soldiers.

US Special Operations Command Africa Maj. Gen. Marcus Hicks received a general officer memorandum reprimand for insufficient oversight of his subordinate officers. Hicks is the highest-ranking official to be punished for the ambush, the New York Times reported Saturday, citing anonymous military sources.

Veterans say ADF drug trial left them debilitated

Ex-serviceman Mark doesn’t want priority boarding on Australian airlines.

He just wants help for medical conditions that go back to 2001, when he was deployed to Timor-Leste and took anti-malarial drugs in a seven-month trial.

A Senate inquiry in Melbourne on Monday heard from Mark and others like him, veterans with a range of symptoms they have had for almost two decades: memory loss, vertigo, migraines, vivid nightmares, hearing and vision loss, aggression and suicidal thoughts.

“I don’t care if I get to board a jet first or get discounts on my shopping. I want my body and mind back,” Mark told the inquiry.

“I loaned them to you and you broke them.”

Russian Naval Drills Demonstrate New Submarine Drone With Extraordinary Capabilities

The Russian Pacific Fleet’s diesel submarines, currently maneuvering, simulated a battle in the Gulf of Peter the Great, Japan’s largest gulf, adjacent to the Russian coast of the Primorie region.

Information on the training was released by the head of the Pacific Fleet Information Department, Nikolai Voskresensky.

“In the military preparation plans … one of the submarines entered a determined area in a stealthy way, detected an ‘enemy’ submarine and then, occupying an advantageous position, simulated a torpedo attack after a diversion to take the offensive position,” he said.

At the same time, the crews trained how to get rid of a pursuit by an “opposing ship”, and also practiced creating interference and false targets.

Russian Bomber Makes Provocative Flyover Of U.S. Command Ship During NATO War Games

Russia is flexing its muscle or is at least engaged in some serious trolling just as Trident Juncture 18 is underway in Norway — NATO’s largest drills in decades with some 50,000 troops, 10,000 combat vehicles, 65 ships, and 250 aircraft.

On Friday a Russian Tupolev Tu-142 bomber unexpectedly flew close to the USS Mount Whitney at the very moment Marines on board were gathered for a group photo during the NATO military games.

Russian media confirmed the incident, describing the U.S. Sixth fleet's flagship (the command and control ship for the fleet) as being "blindsided" while the military and aircraft analysis site The Aviationist described the provocative flyover as "more or less overhead".

UK To Sell China "Unlimited" Military Technology, Radar Equipment

An unnamed UK defense company has been granted a license to supply an unlimited quantity of goods to China's military, "including airborne radar technology likely to be used by the PLA Air Force," reports Stephen Chen of SCMP.

The contract governed by an "open individual export license (OIEL)" has been active since April, two months after Prime Minister Theresa May visited Beijing, as made public by Britain's Department for International Trade.

Unlike previous deals involving British arms sales to China, which were capped by amount and value, under the new agreement the supplier can “export an unlimited quantity of goods”, including equipment, components, software and technology for military radar systems, the department said.

Its strategic export control database described the equipment covered by the licence as “target acquisition, weapon control and countermeasure systems” for “aircraft, helicopters and drones”. -SCMP

UTAH MAYOR KILLED IN KABUL THE LATEST VICTIM OF PERPETUAL US PRESENCE IN AFGHANISTAN

The US serviceman killed in an insider attack in Kabul is identified as Brent Taylor, a mayor from Utah. While shocking to some back at home, this is only the latest such incident in a war that even top brass now call unwinnable.
North Ogden city mayor Major Brent Taylor was deployed to Afghanistan with the Utah National Guard at the beginning of this year. Taylor’s trip to Afghanistan was the fourth such deployment for the father of seven and was due to last one year.

Instead, Taylor was gunned down in an “apparent insider attack” in Kabul on Saturday. The gunman was reportedly a member of the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces – whom Taylor was deployed to train and advise. The gunman managed to wound another US service member, before other Afghan forces killed him.

Taylor’s death was mourned by Utah Lieutenant Governor Spencer Cox, who wrote that the Afghan war “has once again cost us the best blood of a generation.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Condolences to this man's family and friends.

But this death again, begs the questions, as to why the US government is still fighting an unwinnable war in Afghanistan for 17 year, when the people the US military trains turn on their trainers?!?

And to President Trump's people who may, on occasion, read this blog, I implore you to consider the reality, that doing something precisely the same way, over and over, yet expecting a different outcome, is a classic definition of insanity.

And this continued deployment of American and NATO Troops, has to be one of the most insane things I have ever seen this country do.

Had President Bush a modicum of respect for world history (which, of course, he believed he absolutely did not need as president), he would have understood why Afghanistan has been characterized as the "graveyard of empires" by those who had tried, and failed, to conquer the country.

The only guy who actually managed to hang on to Afghanistan, and that was only three years, through a series of dynastic marriages, and political alignments, was Alexander the Great.

So, we are finding ourselves in an unwinnable war, in a country which hates its US/NATO Overlords, whose people cannot be "pacified" no matter how many times the US remotely bombs its civilians in wedding ceremonies, and the Unhinged, Surveilled, State of Amerika, has utterly no exit strategy in sight.

This is a pretty damned lousy state of affairs, but one which must be met with fresh thinking, that still gives the US MOST of what it wanted from the war in the first place.

First, all US and NATO personnel need to be evacuated from Afghanistan, as quickly as is safely possible. The US should then negotiate (a word with which you are not unfamiliar, President Trump?!?) with whatever government is still standing in Kabul, for pipeline rights, the rare earth elements rights development, and, of course, the rights to the poppy fields, which have been doing a brisk business, after the US and NATO started their occupation.

You will recall, Mr. President, that it was the blinkety-blank pipeline routes which were the bone of contention between the US and the then-Taliban government, as the cost of those pipelines was then characterized by the Bush administration as "too high".

But of course, the lives of our military who died, or were maimed for life, were of utterly no consequence to the Bush administration, in their grab for these pipelines, to give US and favored international companies control over the money those pipelines represented, and all to be sold only for US dollars.

When Karl Marx made the observation that "all wars are economic in origin", one can see, very clearly, that control of these pipelines was not to bring representative democracy to the country, or defend the "American Way of Life"; it was all about the money those pipelines represented.

To those of you with young men and women who are thinking about joining the US military, please share this with them; they have the right, when they are dispatched to some hell-hole or another during their tour of duty, to understand precisely what, and whom, they are fighting for.

USS Cole victims opposed at Supreme Court by unlikely partners: Sudan and US

The road to recovery has been a long one for David Morales, who was injured during the al-Qaida attack on the USS Cole 18 years ago last month. And he knew it would be difficult to collect the nearly $315 million that he and others wounded in the attack were awarded in their suit against the Republic of Sudan.

But he didn't expect the case to go all the way to the Supreme Court, and he certainly didn't think he would see the Trump administration aligned with Sudan on the other side of the legal battle.

"I thought the United States would be on the side of its veterans," Morales said in a recent interview. "It was very surprising, especially with Mr. Trump in office.

British Army: Foreign soldiers can now join – without ever having lived in UK

FOREIGN nationals will now be allowed to join the British Army even if they’ve never lived in the UK after the Ministry of Defence announced major changes to the rules.

The decision comes as the MoD unveiled plans to boost the number of Commonwealth recruits to 1350 to plug a shortfall of more than 8,000 soldiers, sailors and air personnel, with the increased levels of recruitment due to be phased in over several years.

At present, only 200 Commonwealth citizens per year are permitted to apply, and even they they need to have lived in the UK for five years.

But in a bid to recruit more servicemen and women to the Army, Navy and Air Force, the Ministry of Defence is lifting this cap.

US Military Reportedly Concerned It Won't Be Able to 'Repel Iran's Missiles'

Unnamed military sources, quoted by The Washington Post, have expressed alarm over Iran’s unpredictable reaction to US economic and diplomatic pressure.

The Washington Post has cited several military officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity, as expressing concern that reducing the US military presence in the Middle East has dealt a blow to their ability to react to potential Iranian threats amid what they called an increased potential for confrontation due to the sanctions.

The military reportedly believes that it’s the current administration’s policy to deter Iran, including Donald Trump’s decision to pull out of the landmark nuclear deal and efforts to eliminate what National Security Adviser John Bolton branded as “the Iranian menace” in Syria and in the region as a whole that has increased the likelihood of military confrontation.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The whole point of the US military and economic posture against Iran, is to insure that it does create a "justification" for war against it.

Israel Breaks Silence: Khashoggi Murder "Horrendous" But Iran The Bigger Problem - Netanyahu

One interesting outcome to the Saudis brazenly murdering journalist Jamal Khashoggi is that world leaders and the determined allies of Saudi Arabia have dropped all pretense of finesse when discussing the matter, such as when President Trump told Fox News last month that while Khashoggi's death was tragic and should be investigated, the prospect of blocking arms sales to the kingdom is "very tough pill to swallow for our country" because American jobs are on the line.

Another world leader who's been blunt on ensuring his relationship with the Saudis weather the storm of media and international outrage is Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who argued in public statements this week that while the killing of the Saudi journalist at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul was “horrendous,” stability in Saudi Arabia is vital to global security.

Webmaster's Commentary:

President Trump staunchly believes that "war is good for business" here in the Unhinged, Surveilled State of Amerika; so he is absolutely fine with Prince Bin Salman having given the order to assassinate Khashoggi, just as is Netanyahu.

But President Trump, what is the moral cost for this country, upon having sold Saudi Arabia, God knows, how many bullets and bombs with which to assassinate innocent Yemeni people?!?

I think your "advisors" are very happy to misdirect your attention very far away from the truth of what the Saudis have been doing with these bombs and bullets; but you can be sure, as a Christian pacifist activist, that I will not. This is what the Saudi war in Yemen is looking like, through the eyes of Yemenite civilians:

Images of Yemeni children, killed and maimed for life, courtesy of US-enabled bombing runs

Yemeni children have been dying, courtesy of US-enabled Saudi port blockades, so no food can get it. Famine has become weaponized by the Saudis, as an act of war against them. A haunted look in the eyes of Amal Hussain, an emaciated 7-year-old lying silently on a hospital bed in northern Yemen, seemed to sum up the dire circumstances of her war-torn country.

And because of US/Saudi Arabia destruction of clean water resources in Yemen, cholera has claimed thousands of lives here.
Cholera/Malnutrition in Yemen

Mr. President, the hard truth here, is that we are enabling Saudi war crimes in Yemen, and there is just no flipping other way to say this.

I know Sec Def Mattis has been asking for a peace conference in 30 days, but this is only because the world now sees this country as the collective, dystopian killing machine that it has become, trampling foreign countries underfoot to make sure that their resources are only sold in the US dollar.

Mr. President, you have one hell of a lot of soul searching about the US position regarding Yemen, and various other foreign entanglements which have gone "mammary glands up" in the US government's rush to control the world's resources.

White House Says US "Remains Open" To New Iran Deal As Sanctions Loom

After horrifying the executives at HBO by tweeting a meme about the impending reinstatement of sanctions against Iran on Friday (the image was a play on HBO's "Winter is Coming" advertising campaign for its hit series "Game of Thrones"), President Trump clarified that the White House remained open to working out a "more comprehensive" agreement with Iran that would ideally help curb the regime's "malign activities" in the Middle East and "forever block" Iran from building nuclear weapons.

This isn't the first time that Trump has said he is open to a "new deal" with Iran. But the mildly less threatening rhetoric was, we imagine, designed to encourage the pullback in oil prices seen in recent weeks. Earlier in the day, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said the US would grant sanctions waivers to eight countries (but not the European Union as a whole). The US has also decided not to encourage SWIFT to disconnect Iranian banks from the global financial system.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I agree with the author of this blog about Trump's seemingly softening stance was for public consumption regarding rising oil prices.

But you have to understand; there is a deep reverence in President Trump's attitude toward two of the most bloodthirsty tyrants in the Middle East, and the best contenders for that title are the Butcher of Gaza (Israel's Netanyahu) and the Butcher of Yemen, (Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince bin Salman).

I am quite certain that Trump has given his word to his largest US backer, Sheldon Adelson, and to Netanyahu, that if Iran doesn't pull back from these
alleged "malign activities" (whatever the heck these are supposed to be), that there will be a time and a place for a US-led/Israeli backed, military challenge against it, including a proxy of Saudi Arabian fighters, and regime change in Tehran.

But I would very much like to add a cautionary note to President Trump and his advisors on this; through his sanctions against it, President Trump has drawn Iran, Russia, and China closer together than they have ever been, economically and militarily in the history of those countries.

IF US/ISIS attached fighters pick a fight with either Russia or Iran in Syria, there will be hell to pay, and that may be the way the US believes it can "legitimately" start the war with Iran; through its facilities in Syria, assisting the Syrians and Russians in getting the rebels out.

Right now, the US military doesn't have the weaponry; the troop strength, the manufacturing, or the money to insure a positive outcome to a war against China, Iran, or Russia, in Syria.

The US, through its Presidential Advisor, John Bolton, has stated flatly that
the US military will not leave Syria, as long as there are Iranian advisors there. Russia is still very much involved in Syria, and working with Turkey and other countries toward its reconstruction.

I am deeply concerned that the long fuse of American intervention in Syria, as a "doorway" to a war against Iran is about to get lit, either after the midterms, or the first of next year.

Russia Isolated? US And Britain Excluded From Syria Summit

There were several takeaways from the recent Quadrilateral Summit in Istanbul on finding a peaceful settlement to the war in Syria. Russian President Vladimir Putin convened with his counterparts from Turkey, Germany and France for a two-day summit last weekend in a convivial and constructive atmosphere.

The four powers signed a communique emphasizing the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria. It was Putin who underscored the inviolability of the Syrian government of President Assad as the internationally recognized authority in the Arab country. The communique also endorsed the right of the Syrian nation to self-determination over the future political settlement, free from external interference.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Just because it was not invited to the conference, is no guarantee that the US government will do the right thing, which would be it's pulling its military from the country; Israel still wants, desperately, for the US to destabilize Syria to the point where it will become a failed state.

And as of 24 September, 2018, John Bolton made the following statement:

John Bolton says the US will stay in Syria until Iran and its Proxies are Gone

For Bolton to have made this statement, it is painfully clear that the US government is perfectly fine with catching hostile fire from Syrian, Iranian, and/or Russian forces in Syria.

This creates a potential for war by the US and Israel against Russia, Syria, and Iran.

U.S. Navy’s Costliest Carrier Was Delivered Without Elevators to Lift Bombs

The $13 billion Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier, the U.S. Navy’s costliest warship, was delivered last year without elevators needed to lift bombs from below deck magazines for loading on fighter jets.

Previously undisclosed problems with the 11 elevators for the ship built by Huntington Ingalls Industries Inc. add to long-standing reliability and technical problems with two other core systems -- the electromagnetic system to launch planes and the arresting gear to catch them when they land.

The Advanced Weapons Elevators, which are moved by magnets rather than cables, were supposed to be installed by the vessel’s original delivery date in May 2017. Instead, final installation was delayed by problems including four instances of unsafe “uncommanded movements” since 2015, according to the Navy.

Video: Syrian Army Discovers ISIS Depot with US-Supplied Ammunition

On November 1, Hayat Tahir al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra) announced that its members had attacked positions of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) near the village of Abu Qamis in southeastern Idlib. Three SAA soldiers were reportedly killed.

A source in the SAA told SouthFront that clashes had erupted near the village, but declined to provide additional details. According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, at least one Hayat Tahrir al-Sham member was killed.

Later on the same day, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham and another al-Qaeda-linked group, Horas al-Din, shelled multiple SAA positions in northern Hama and western Aleppo.

The Next Generation of Warfare: Genetically Engineered Viruses: Mac Slavo

Genetically engineered viruses could very well become the next generation of warfare. Deadly viruses modified in labs could be released eliminating entire communities of people as they infect making them a valuable asset to militaries worldwide.

As dystopian as that sounds, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) is already working on a project called Insect Allies which will use insects to infect crops with genetically modified viruses that edit the crops’ genetic profile to make them more resilient against disease, as well as natural and manufactured threats to the food supply.

‘Pray for the crown prince’: Michele Bachmann and other end-times evangelicals turn up in Saudi Arabia

A group of U.S. evangelicals, including former Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN), held a rare meeting Thursday with Saudi Arabia’s crown prince Mohammed bin Salman at his palace.

The delegation to Riyadh was led by Bachmann and communications strategist Joel Rosenberg, who are each known for pushing an apocalyptic worldview relating to events in the Middle East, and the heads of other Israel-tied evangelical organizations, reported Al Jazeera.

“We’re under no illusions about the challenges that are in Saudi Arabia and that remain,” Rosenberg said. “But I think it’s respectful to go and listen to leaders who have the opportunity to make life better for Christians and Muslims and potentially for Israel as well and who are against the crazies in Iran and the Muslim Brotherhood.”

“I’d ask people to pray,” he added. “Pray for the (Jordanian) king, pray for the crown prince, pray for the people of Saudi Arabia — and I think it’s the right thing to do.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

My dear Ms. Bachmann and Mr. Rosenberg; in this most-likely Trump-mandated PR stunt has all the optics...as that of putting lipstick on a pig.

The US government is complicit with Saudi Arabia's war crimes in Yemen, in slaughtering infants, children, and the medically fragile elderly with their air strikes. The US is assisting Saudi Arabia in blockading Yemeni ports, so no food can get in, and the deaths from malnutrition, present and future, will cost Yemen tens of thousands more of their children. Additionally, the US has assisted Saudi Arabia in the destruction of Yemeni water infrastructure, and cholera (possibly weaponised, as the US government did during World War II) runs rampant in Yemen now.

And Mr. Rosenberg, when you made that statement that "I think it’s respectful to go and listen to leaders who have the opportunity to make life better for Christians and Muslims and potentially for Israel as well...", did you not realize that conversion to Christianity in Saudi Arabia can get you executed for apostasy?!?

It scares me, Mr. Rosenberg, that you have the ear of President Trump, and yet you would make a statement like this in public.

Christianity in Saudi Arabia

And please don't even think about having the hubris to lecture the world about the "Crazies" in Iran or the Muslim Brotherhood.

Iran appears to be doing everything it can to prevent war, while Prince Bin Salman does everything to continue this horrific, 3 year-on war in Yemen, which can only be resolved at in a geopolitical, not military, manner.

Netanyahu: Saudi Arabia deserves a pass for Khashoggi murder

Saudi Arabia should get a pass for murdering US-based journalist Jamal Khashoggi because the kingdom is an ally of the Jewish state against Iran.

“What happened at the Istanbul consulate was horrendous and it should be duly dealt with. But at the same time, it is very important for the stability of the region and the world that Saudi Arabia remain stable,” Netanyahu said in Bulgaria, the Times of Israel reported.

Khashoggi reportedly was strangled and then dismembered on Oct. 2 by a Saudi assassination squad under orders from Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman because the journalist was critical of the Saudi regime.

Netanyahu declared that his killers should somehow be punished, but that his overriding concern was the kingdom’s role in thwarting Iran’s Mideast ambitions, which include the destruction of Israel.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Hey, it's just a common courtesy for one geopolitical butcher (of Gaza, Netanyahu) to another geopolitical Butcher ( of Yemen, bin Salman), to "sell" the concept publicly, that he should be given a pass on both the assassination of Khashoggi, and the assassination of tens of thousands of Yemenis, because it is "good for regional stability."

US Govt Reimposes All Nuclear Sanctions Against Iran

The end of business on Friday marked the end of the six month period between the US withdrawing from the P5+1 nuclear deal and the withdrawal being finalized. As of Monday, the US will be reimposing all sanctions against Iran that they’d previously been required by treaty to ease.

The US intention is to put all international sanctions back exactly as they were before the nuclear deal was signed. Since Iran is still party to the deal, as is most of the rest of the world, many nations do not intend to comply with US demands.

Still, Iran’s economy has been struggling already, with the anticipation of sanctions gravely damaging the currency. This has many ordinary Iranians fearing that their economic struggles are about to get worse, while Iran’s government, as throughout the sanctions, is in a better position to weather the storm.

Webmaster's Commentary:

As I have observed many times in my posts at WRH, just because something is the most ham-fistedly, pig-headedly stupid thing the US government could do, is absolutely no guarantee that the US government won't do it.

Removal of the US from the P5+1 agreement is one of those stupid things, of course demanded by Sheldon Adelson, Trump's major US contributor, and his boss, Israel's Bibi Netanyahu; so Team Trump believes that they have delivered on that, along with designating Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, rather than Tel Aviv.

Everyone inspecting from the IAEA has said, right up to recent times, that Iran is still absolutely in compliance. And when someone as bright as one would have to be to earn a "seat at the table" in the IAEA, tells me Iran is complying, I would very much believe that person's credibility.

But what this completely idiotic move is going to accomplish, is to push Iran, Russia, and China even closer together economically than they already are, so I have to wonder; is a pathological incapability to see any scenario through to is logical conclusion now a mandate for US government work?!? Because folks, that is what it is looking like from here!!

And we have the following headlines, also from antiwar.com:

US Grants Iran Sanction Waivers to Some Countries, but Denies Others

And Germany, UK, France want to protect firms from Sanctions against Iran

So what does Team Trump think will be the ultimate outcome of this insanity?!? Will they go to war with all parts of the world ignoring the US's sanctions?!? I sincerely don't think so, but with this administration, one never can really be certain.

Iraq Deploying Nearly 30,000 Fighters to Syrian Border to Fight ISIS

With most ISIS forces believed to be operating in the desert in eastern Syria, Iraq is facing growing concern that they’ll eventually, in the face of US-backed offensives, cross into Iraqi territory and try to set up shop again.

The Iraqi military announced that two Army brigades, a total of 8,000 soldiers, have been dispatched to the border. The Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) say 20,000 Shi’ite militia fighters are also en route.

All told that’s nearly 30,000 fighters loyal to the Iraqi government heading to the Syrian border, in an attempt to keep ISIS from crossing in. Given the size of the border, however, it’s not clear how well they will be able to prevent cross-overs, if ISIS decides to.

That may not be an immediate concern, with ISIS forces in Syria continuing to fight against the Kurdish YPG in the last few towns they have yet.

Webmaster's Commentary:

And why do the Iraqis think that US-backed, funded, and trained ISIS mercs will try to set up shop in Iraq?!?
May 2018 Iraqi Parliamentary elections You will note, that the leader of the Iraqi Parliament is none other than Muqtada al-Sadr, a virulently anti-US cleric who was the head of the Mahdi army, and threatened that US troops were "fair game" for attack if they stayed in Iraq a millisecond over the time the SOFA said they needed to be out of Iraq.

His coalition has to be the State Department's worst nightmare, so since they have the ISIS troops in Northern Syria, they are figuring that they will use them to destabilize Iraq yet again, as the current government is not to their liking.

'There's No One Else to Fight': Russian Analysts Not Fooled by NATO Drill Jargon

Trident Juncture 18, NATO's largest Arctic drills since the Cold War, kicked off last week in central Scandinavia, with 50,000 troops, 140 aircraft and 70 ships including a US carrier group simulating a response to an attack "from the north." Speaking to Sputnik, military observers said that it's obvious who this "northern threat" is meant to be.

On Wednesday, the Russian defense ministry confirmed that two Tu-160 strategic bombers had performed a 10 hour flight over neutral waters in the Barents and Norwegian Seas, prompting the UK to scramble jets to accompany them amid the massive NATO drills in the area. The same day, Russia announced it would be holding naval rocket firing drills near Finnmark, northern Norway, several hundred kilometers from the NATO exercises, starting next week.

US touts interception of a medium-range ballistic missile it should not have

The US Missile Defense Agency has been practicing shooting down a land-based medium-range ballistic missile, just as Washington prepares for its withdrawal from the cornerstone INF nuclear non-proliferation agreement.

Less than a week after President Donald Trump announced his plans to withdraw the US from the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF), the US Navy has conducted a successful test of its Aegis Combat System by firing and intercepting a “medium-range ballistic missile,” which is technically banned by the INF treaty.

Footage of the test shows USS John Finn tracking, engaging and shooting down a medium-range ballistic missile fired from the Pacific Missile Range Facility in Hawaii using SM-3 Block IIA.
