Impeachment Now Or Apocalypse Later?...
After eight years, the multiple examples of ethical and felonious crimes of the Bush Administration are now abundantly clear and beyond rational dispute. Most compelling among them is the crime of authorizing torture as state policy. - M. R.

April 8, 2008

On April 16, the New Hampshire legislature will consider House Resolution 24, a resolution petitioning Congress to commence impeachment procedures. Introduced by veteran legislator Betty Hall, 87, its successful passage would create U.S. history.

March 18, 2008

John Conyers just finshed up a panel with John Cole and Christy Hardin Smith at Take Back America with words that were heartening to everyone made just a wee bit uneasy by the recent retirement of Admiral Fallon and the implications it might have for war with Iran:

"If Bush Goes Into Iran, He Should Be Impeached," said Conyers.

March 16, 2008

As we enter the eighth year of the Bush-Cheney administration, I have belatedly and painfully concluded that the only honorable course for me is to urge the impeachment of the president and the vice president.
... followed by jail.

If we fail to punish this President for having lied us all into a war of conquest, then we send a message to all future presidents that it is permissible for them to lie us into wars of conquest. If, by our inaction, we send such a message of consent, then we bear the responsibility for the millions who will die in such wars. Their blood yet to be spilled stains us.

It is up to We The People to take action. Congress has abandoned their responsibilities under the Constitution. Congress is no more capable of holding King George to account than Parliament was of holding King Charles I to account. And the American people are no more willing to sit still for it than the British were. - M. R.

March 11, 2008

Tedisco said if Spitzer does not resign according to a deadline that's been imposed, state Republican leadership will call for impeachment proceedings to begin.
HOLD ON A MINUTE!

More Inadequate Excuses from Kucinich on Impeachment...
"My dog ate the impeachment resolution. Honest!" - M. R.

February 13, 2008

Theres a new rule on Capitol Hill: the Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee can remove impeachment from the Constitution, but cannot also use telephones, Email, or fax machines, because the flood of pro-impeachment communications from outraged citizens is overwhelming each of those devices. Dont believe me? Try phoning, Emailing, or faxing John Conyers office.
But Congress can take time to make sure that baseball players are not talking steroids.

It's time to impeach the entire government. - M. R.

Boulder's elected leaders are expected to decide next week whether to draft and vote on a resolution calling for the impeachment of President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney.

Kucinich Lets Supporters Down- Gives New Lousy Excuse for Not Introducing Impeachment...
Kucinich is apparently denying the story that pressure was put on him to drop impeachment as the price for continuing to serve in Congress.

Which pretty much tells us, together with the fact that he has again failed to actually do anything, that the story is dead-on accurate. - M. R.

January 26, 2008

I was not convinced that anything would change even though the Democrats took control of both houses. I expressed my opinion on Cambridge cable TV that I was not hopeful that the Democrats would impeach since they had been complicit in all of the atrocities of the Bush administration since the beginning of this administration. Of course, there are some exceptions but I would say at least 95% of those elected politicians in Congress are complicit to varying degrees and are as guilty of the atrocities of the Bush administration as George Bush and Dick Cheney are.

Kucinich to Introduce Impeachment of Bush Before State of the Union January 28...
Kucinich has been promising us impeachment for a long time now. Bush and Cheney don't have that much time left in office. Subtract the time the impeachment process will take anyway and they are almost off scott-free.

Is Kucinich is all talk and no action? - M. R.

January 6, 2008

Former US presidential candidate George McGovern on Sunday called for President George W. Bush and Vice President Richard Cheney to be impeached, saying the case for such a dramatic step "is far stronger" than it was against former disgraced president Richard Nixon.

The reason most of our Congress does NOT want to pursue any action against the president and administration is because it would create a deadly political and economic tsunami that would encircle many more individuals and organizations than merely Bush and Cheney.

Normally I would not get involved in the internal discussions of who should run a foreign government, but in the case of George W. Bush I have no choice. My own life is at stake because of his foreign policies. My own country is being led down a path of destruction because of him and his administration. Wexler Will Urge House Judiciary Committee to 'Schedule Impeachment Hearings Immediately'...
Okay folks, now is the time to start glaring at the congresscritters. Go to Congress.org and get the contact info for your representatives. Don't waste time with email; it is scanned for buzzwords to trigger automated replies and otherwise ignored. Phone or FAX or visit the office of your congresscritters and make the message simple and clear; you will NOT vote for any congresscritter who does not vote for impeachment. If they reply with the usual "well it may not come up for a vote", look them straight in the eye and say "Too bad, because if you can't vote for impeachment, then I cannot vote for you." If they whine that it isn't up to them just keep saying, "Too bad. Make it happen. If you can't make it happen, you are not qualified for the job." If they say, "That's not fair", just say, "Life isn't fair. Deal with it!"

Remind them that the name on their office door is written in dry-erase marker, and WE THE PEOPLE hold the eraser!

If need be, we'll impeach the entire Congress.

If need be, we'll impeach the entire #$%^ing government! - M. R.

Seven months after first introducing articles of impeachment of the vice president, Kucinich finally grew fed up with his party's leaders who had steadfastly refused to even consider kicking the current administration out of the White House. Even before she had first rapped the Speaker's gavel, Nancy Pelosi declared adamantly that impeachment was "off the table."
The Will of the People is obviously the lowest priority of all. - M. R.

November 6, 2007

The House has just voted to refer the Kucinich impeachment resolution to committee. That means it's dead.
IMPEACH THE ENTIRE CONGRESS. - M. R.

Rep. Dennis Kucinich, D-Ohio, is trying to impeach Vice President Cheney for what he describes as "high crimes and misdemeanors" before the invasion of Iraq.

Right after the proposal was read on the House floor this afternoon, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer stepped forwarded and tried to convince lawmakers to table the bill.

For those who are onboard, here is a 5 step action checklist to do until Nov. 6th when Kucinich will bring H.Res.333 for the impeachment of Cheney to the House Floor. Congress is watching for the public reaction to this, so this is the time to use everything we've got to make sure they will not know what hit them.

September 28, 2007

This bombshell just dropped by Rep. Dennis Kucinich on the Ed Schultz show. Kucinich is considering forcing an impeachment vote on a "privileged resolution" on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives. Time to call your representative and let him/her know that you will not support any candidate who doesn't support accountability and the rule of law.

You can reach the Capitol switchboard toll-free at 1-800-426-8073.

A direct or positive proposal to impeach takes precedence over everything," even over pending business before the House under a unanimous consent agreement. Indeed, impeachment is a question of constitutional privilege which may be presented at any time irrespective of previous action of the House.

ONE BUTTON: SEND A FAX TO CONYERS DEMANDING IMPEACHMENT OF CHENEY AND BUSH...
MY FAX:

Dear Chairman Conyers,

I will not waste your time with the numerous reasons Dick Cheney (and George Bush) should be removed from office. You do not have enough paper in your FAX machine for the entire list.

But I wish to call your attention to a simple fact. Trust and faith in the Executive Branch is gone. By virtue of the lies that tricked this nation into a war standing exposed for all to see while that war is still in progress, the Executive Branch has lost all legitimacy in the eyes of the taxpaying and voting public.

What legitimacy the government still has lies with the legislative branch, and Americans are watching closely to see if Congress will do its duty as defined in the Constitution. Already, President Bush's enablers in Congress, Speaker Pelosi chief among them, have given many Americans reason to view Congress as party to the lies that led to war.

The Constitution does not authorize the government to lie to the people. When the government lies to the people it acts both illegally and unconstitutionally. It violates the contract enshrined in the Constitution between rulers and ruled. a government that lies discredits and delegitimizes itself at the very moment of the lie.

Therefore, unless and until Congress removed the President and Vice President, this nation faces a harsh reality of a government with two of the three branches seen as illegitimate by the people who pay for it all.

For the good of the nation, Congress must remove the Vice President, then the President, must go. The alternative is too terrible to consider.

Michael Rivero - M. R.

July 22, 2007

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Rep. John Conyers strongly indicated Friday he's ready to roll immediately to put Dennis Kucinich's HRes 333 to impeach Vice President Dick Cheney to a vote of the committee. All he wants are three more House members to join the 14 co-sponsors.
Everyone can take two minutes on Monday and do two things: phone Chairman Conyers at 202-225-5126 and ask him to start the impeachment of Dick Cheney; and phone your own Congressional representative at 202-224-3121 and ask them to immediately call Conyers' office to express their support for impeachment. - M. Rep. Jim McDermott (D-Wash.) told Vice President Dick Cheney to resign or face impeachment Thursday night as three more House Democrats lent their support to a plan to impeach the vice president.

June 30, 2007

The vice president holds himself above the law, and it is time for the Congress to enforce the law, McDermott said in a floor speech. For the good of the nation, the vice president could leave office immediately.
I am in total agreement here, however I wish to point out that duping all the problems on Dick Cheney and kicking him out will not solve the problems. ALL the men and women who lied us into war for their own personal gain need to be given the heave-ho. - M. R.

June 29, 2007

Obama says despite shortcomings of Bush administration, impeachment is not acceptable...
Another Democratic sell-out. - M. R.

Essentially, Pelosi argued that we need to push forward and get a Dem in the White House in 2008 to really start enacting serious change, noting that even with majorities in both Houses, the Dems power could not overcome the 60 Senate votes needed to beat a Bush veto, and that the courts would be particularly unfriendly to Democratic moves for criminal investigations unless they substantially built the cases for each move.
Dear Coward

The Democrats will not win the White House in 2008. They will probably lose both houses of Congress in 2008.

The reason the Democrats will fail in 2008 is that they were sent to Congress in 2006 with a clear mandate to end the war and prosecute the people who lied us into it.

But right from the start you declared impeachment "off the table", and frankly I don't care what your stated reasons are, the bottom line is that you did not do what WE THE PEOPLE sent you to office to do.

Actions speak louder than words. Where are your actions? I do not hear your words. What have you DONE to end the war? What have you DONE to punish those who lied us into it?

Nothing?

Therein lies the end of the Democrats' control of Congress. - M. R.

SHOWDOWN! BUSH REFUSES TO TURN OVER SUBPOENAED SPY DOCUMENTS - IMPEACHMENT POSSIBLE!...
Folks, I would love to see the criminals in high places removed as much as the next man, but impeachment isn't going to happen, not with the single most powerful member of the opposing party in Congress blocking it.

Yes, remember Nancy Pelosi, who became Speaker of the House when Congress was voted into Democratic hands on the promise that the war would be stopped and those who lied us into it would be investigated? Rem,ember how upon attaining office the first thing she declared was that impeachment was "off the table?"

The bottom line is that Congress won't do ANYTHING. We are already in the dictatorship George Bush loves to joke about. How many times do you have to see Congress pontificate and posture and preen and try to look good for the public until it gets through your head that Congress cannot do anything BUT try to look good for the public, because they have sold their souls and cannot do anything other than what their masters allow.

Bush will take this to the Supreme Court, which will rule in favor of "Executive Privilege", even though no such privilege exists in the Constitution.

We are not past the Claire Wolfe stage. - M. R.

How many times are we supposed to endure these humiliating contortions you call "working with the president?" A blank check for Bush is a blank check for Bush, even if you dont call it a blank check. He just spit on your latest blank check. Congratulations.

Madame Speaker, ever since you blurted out, "Impeachment is off the table" on 60 Minutes last fall, youve stubbornly stayed the course on no Impeachment. You said, "its a waste of time." Youve chosen to "negotiate" with Mr. 28 Percent instead. If youre trying to prove youre as delusional as he is, youre doing a heckuva job.

Impeach Cheney Now!...
The Mainstream media is burying the impeachment of the Vice President, so YOU need to get the story out. TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW! Send the story to everyone on your email list. Write letters to the editors of your local paper.

Because I believe the vice president's conduct of office has been destructive to the founding purposes of our nation. Today, I have introduced House Resolution 333, Articles of Impeachment Relating to Vice President Richard B. Cheney. I do so in defense of the rights of the American people to have a government that is honest and peaceful.

It became obvious to me that this vice president, who was a driving force for taking the United States into a war against Iraq under false pretenses, is once again rattling the sabers of war against Iran with the same intent to drive America into another war, again based on false pretenses.

Impeach them, remove them, hand them over for war crimes trials.

I am relinking this here today because the mainstream news media is TOTALLY AVOIDING THIS STORY! IN fact, when goggling "Kucinich impeachment Cheney" the Google search engine does not show the usual current news slips at the top of the results.

Senate Public Affairs Hearing - NM SJR 5 to Impeach President Bush and Cheney...

March 7, 2007

Forget bird flu, impeachment is spreading across the nation, state by state.
It is time to force the impeachment issue, to force every legislator to to take a stand one way or the other on the issue of a President who willfully and malice aforethought lied this nation into a war of conquest. NM Impeachment Resolution Officially On Agenda for Friday around 9:00 AM...

January 14, 2007

There is a decent chance that within the next month or two the New Mexico State Legislature will ask the U.S. House of Representatives to begin impeachment proceedings against President Bush and Vice President Cheney. And there is the definite possibility that a Congress Member from New Mexico will take up the matter when it gets to Washington. The Jefferson Manual, rules used by the U.S. House, allows for impeachment to be begun in this manner. It only takes one state legislature.
Okay folks, start calling your state legislatures and demand impeachment. - M. R.
