The sun has been without sunspots for 33 of the past 34 days. To find a similar stretch of blank suns, you have to go back to 2009 when the sun was experiencing the deepest solar minimum in a century. Solar minimum has returned, bringing extra cosmic rays, long-lasting holes in the sun's atmosphere, and strangely pink auroras.

"One of the saddest lessons of history is this: If we've been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle. We're no longer interested in finding out the truth. The bamboozle has captured us. It's simply too painful to acknowledge, even to ourselves, that we've been taken. SCANDAL: Airport weather stations that record “global warming” temperatures sit directly in the exhaust paths of fiery hot jet engines

If so-called climate change experts are to be believed, the human race is facing imminent and irreversible doom. Man-made global warming, they insist, is raising temperatures across our planet, melting glaciers, raising water levels, exposing oceanside populations to impending disaster, and creating scary new weather patterns. As proof of their doomsday prophecies, these “experts” provide reports from weather stations which supposedly prove that temperatures are continuing to rise at an alarming rate.

But can these reports be trusted? What if the “evidence” is based on inaccurate data and we’re all terrified for nothing?

What if some of the weather stations used to collect data are right in the path of exhaust fumes from fiery hot jet engines? Or what if these weather stations are located slap bang in the middle of overheated urban areas? Isn’t that something we should know about?

The Power Grid Could Buckle During Extreme Heat Wave

The power grid in the US is old and tenuous, and with the current “heat dome” that has settled over the southwestern part of the country, the risk of demand outstripping supply is very real.

NYC Climate Change Suit Sinks in Federal Court

Climate change is a fact of life, as is not contested by defendants,” U.S. District Judge John Keenan wrote in a 23-page opinion. “But the serious problems caused thereby are not for the judiciary to ameliorate. Global warming and solutions thereto must be addressed by the two other branches of government.”...Chevron’s attorney Ted Boutrous, from Gibson Dunn, said that the judge “got it exactly right Trying to resolve a complex, global issue like climate change through litigation is ‘illogical,’ and would intrude on the powers of Congress and the executive branch to address these issues as part of the democratic process,” (FYI Boutrous is the lawyer who said that he will "represent pro bono anyone who Trump sues for exercising their free speech rights.")

Gigantic iceberg the size of Delaware that cracked off Antarctica last year has stalled: Animation shows how dense ice is preventing A-68 from drifting out to sea

Scientists tracking a massive iceberg that broke free from Antarctica’s Larsen C Ice Shelf last year say dense ice cover has so far prevented it from drifting far out to sea.

An animation showing its movement over the last few months reveals how the trillion-plus ton Iceberg A-68 has shifted as it’s battered by ocean currents, tides, and winds in the Weddell Sea.

While the huge chunk of ice, estimated to be about the size of Delaware, has moved around some, the experts say its surroundings have kept it somewhat locked into place.

Arnold Schwarzenegger's Video To Trump On Coal Is Actually Worth A Watch

Sunspots Vanishing Faster than Expected

May 1, 2018: Sunspots are becoming scarce. Very scarce. So far in 2018 the sun has been blank almost 60% of the time, with whole weeks going by without sunspots. Today’s sun, shown here in an image from NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory, is typical of the featureless solar disk:

The fact that sunspots are vanishing comes as no surprise. Forecasters have been saying for years that this would happen as the current solar cycle (“solar cycle 24”) comes to an end. The surprise is how fast.

The solar minimum of 2008-2009 was unusually deep. The sun set Space Age records for low sunspot number, weak solar wind, and depressed solar irradiance. When the sun finally woke up a few years later, it seemed to have “solar minimum hangover.” The bounce-back Solar Max of 2012-2015 was the weakest solar maximum of the Space Age, prompting some to wonder if solar activity is entering a phase of sustained quiet.

An Inconvenient Truth: Greenhouse Gas Emissions Are Falling Under Trump

Environmental data for 2017 are pouring in, and the results might not be what you’d expect.

In the United States, where President Trump has promised to unshackle the coal industry and to abandon an international climate change treaty, greenhouse-gas emissions fell last year and are expected to continue falling.

In Europe, where political leaders consider climate change an urgent priority, emissions rose last year.

In the United States, a report released last week by the Rhodium Group says that even though Trump “continues to unravel Obama-era climate and clean energy policies,” falling costs of renewable energy and natural gas are “keeping U.S. greenhouse gas emissions on the downswing.”

The latest government data show emissions have fallen 12 percent from 2005 to 2016. The Rhodium Group report estimates that by 2020, emissions will have fallen between 15 percent and 17 percent compared with 2005 levels.

Meanwhile, In The Arctic… [Icebreakers working overtime… Global Warming?]

In a development that could further advantage OPEC members as they step up production to compensate for falling exports out of Venezuela and (potentially) Iran, the Barents Observer is reporting that two of Russia’s largest Arctic out-shipment points for oil and LNG have become “packed with ice” leaving tankers and carriers stranded in the “paralyzed” area, which hasn’t been this packed with ice at midsummer in four years. Experts had expected that ice clogging up the Gulf of Ob would melt with the summer months, allowing Rosatomflots, the state-owned energy company responsible for the region, to avoid relying on their nuclear-powered icebreakers to clear the area.

But the researchers revised that initial study with new data and found the temperatures actually reach minus 98 degrees Celsius (minus 144 degrees Fahrenheit) during the southern polar night, mostly during July and August.

30 Years of Global Warming Forecasts all Failed

The Wall Street Journal just published a review of the Global Warming Forecasts for the past 30 years. They have not even come close to the scenarios they put forth back in 1988. On June 23, 1988, the then NASA scientist James E. Hansen who helped to start all this nonsense testified before the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources. He stated that he expressed had a “high degree of confidence” in “a cause-and-effect relationship between the claimed CO2 induced “greenhouse effect and observed warming.” That is how government characterizes something when they are guessing – “high degree of confidence” which was the same words used to invade Iraq who had weapons of mass destruction. He later came out and said: “Simply stated, there is no doubt that Saddam Hussein now has weapons of mass destruction.” (August 25, 2002). The CIA Director testified before Congress and said: “We said in the estimate with high confidence that Iraq had them.” see Transcript Washington Post).

Federal Judge Dismisses Climate Change Damage Lawsuits Against Big Oil

A federal district court has dismissed the nuisance lawsuit filed by the California cities of Oakland and San Francisco against five major private oil companies seeking to obtain climate change damages. As I argued earlier, the court made the right decision.

The five companies—BP, Chevron, Conoco-Phillips, ExxonMobil, and Royal Dutch Shell—collectively are responsible "for over 11 percent of the carbon dioxide and methane pollution that has accumulated in the atmosphere since the industrial revolution." The cities asserted that they were entitled to billions of dollars in compensation on the grounds that companies knew that their sales of fossil fuels were damaging the climate. As a result of rising global temperatures, municipalities argued that they will be forced to pay for changes in infrastructure required to adapt to consequences of this warming, such as rising sea levels.

$4 Billion Miami Mega-Mall Moves Ahead, Ignores "Collective Belief In Sea-Level Rise"

Plans for a $4 billion mega-mall to be built on the coast line city of Miami are pushing forward, despite the fact that the city is likely going to have to deal with rising sea levels and worsening weather as the years progress. Or, it simply could find itself underwater within years, if other projections are accurate.

But don't worry - academics at the University of Penn Wharton School of Business have a solution: just ignore the fact that Miami will soon be underwater, because otherwise you could create a panic that could, in turn, slow down tax revenue that the city is desperately going to need to - wait for it - adapt to being underwater.

So in the great spirit of Keynes himself, the project is pushing forward.

In hindsight, it is easy to see that Grenfell’s refurbishment made the building unsafe. But why was the building refurbished in this way in the first place?

The ‘policy context’ for the Grenfell Tower Regeneration Project, according to its ‘sustainability and energy statement’, is the Climate Change Act of 2008. ‘The council recognises the government’s targets to reduce national carbon dioxide emissions’, and ‘to deliver this, the council will’ carry out its plan for ‘conversions and refurbishments of 800m2 or more of residential developments’.

Excuse the global warming crap!

Volcanic activity, is an example of a non-anthropogenic source of international pollutions. Volcanic eruptions release large quantities of greenhouse gases and other aerosols into the atmosphere, these gases form massive clouds which accumulate in the atmosphere; this process is referred to as outgassing or offgassing In addition to magma particulates, known as ash or pyroclastic flow, volcanic eruptions release water vapor(H20), carbon dioxide(CO2), sulphur dioxide(SO2), hydrogen sulfide(H2S), carbon monoxide(CO), hydrogen chloride(HCl), and hydrogen fluoride(HF) into the atmosphere.

Climate shock: Earth’s orbit has influenced climate fluctuations for 215 million years

A CLIMATE study published this week threatens to radically change the way we understand the causes of changes in global climates and how we could be caught in a 405,000-year-long cycle of shifting climate.

A team of scientists studying ancient rocks in the arid Arizona desert believe Earth’s orbit plays a vital role in cyclical climate changes.

Although astrophysicists have long toyed with the idea celestial movements affect Earth’s climate, the study’s authors may have just produced the first concrete evidence.

The scientists now think the gravitational forces of Venus and Jupiter shift Earth’s round orbit into a more elliptical one in a regular cycle.

In Grand Forks, the flood is worst since 1948. Things are not over yet, officials said, warning that second wave of floods is expected mid-week.

Major flooding hit British Columbia on May 10, 2018, forcing about 4 000 people to evacuate their homes.

"The spring food season is upon us," BC Premier John Horgan said. "Heavy rainfall, warm weather and rapid snowmelt have triggered flood warnings and evacuations in the Interior. More than 4 000 British Columbians have been forced from their homes, while thousands more anxiously wait to see what rising flood waters will mean for their homes and their livelihoods."

What Can You And Yours Expect In A Grand Solar Minimum

William Stanley Jevons, probably the world’s first mathematical economist, observed that crop yields declined when sunspots were fewer. That makes sense as the sun’s radiance is crucial for raising plants. Piers Corbyn, one of the world’s best weathermen, has been telling us we are entering a mini Ice Age or Grand Solar Minimum where for some reason the sun produces less solar radiance thus cooling ever so slightly our planet. The most famous cooling period in modern history was called the Maunder Minimum which occurred from 1645 to 1715.

If we study the history and the science of these previous Minimums, what can we expect starting as early as 2019 according to Corbyn?

Intense hailstorm hits Rajouri district, Jammu and Kashmir, killing over 110 animals

Heavy rains and hailstorm hit Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district, India, on May 9, 2018, trapping 10 families of a nomadic tribe on hills in the Thanamandi area and killing over 110 animals, mostly sheep and goats. The state government also said that standing crops spread over 100 hectares and over a dozen orchards were damaged.

The state administration launched a major operation to rescue the families trapped in the higher reaches of the area, District Development Commissioner (DDC), Rajouri, Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, said, according to United News of India. All the members of the trapped Gujjar and Bakerwal tribes escaped unhurt and were subsequently rescued in a night-long operation.

There was no immediate report of any casualties, but over 110 small animals, mostly sheep, and goats, were killed in the hailstorm and rain, Choudhary said.

Record snows in the Blackfoot drainage driving current Missoula flooding

While attention right now is on the flooding impacts along the Clark Fork River in Missoula, hydrologists have some of their focus much further upstream, where they're watching a record snowpack finally starting to melt.

Most of Missoula's flooding problems are starting in the high country of the Blackfoot drainage, where places like the Swan and the backside of the Mission Mountains are still buried in snow.

"The Bob Marshall Wilderness, the Mission Mountains, some of the mountains that are over along the Continental Divide, just still a lot of water left to come out of those," said National Weather Service Hydrologist Ray Nickless.

Climate skeptics more eco-friendly than global-warming alarmists: study

Al Gore has been accused of hypocrisy for talking the talk on climate change despite burning through fossil fuels at a rapid clip, but it turns out he’s not alone.

A study by Cornell and the University of Michigan researchers found that those “highly concerned” about climate change were less likely to engage in recycling and other eco-friendly behaviors than global-warming skeptics.

Everyone Knows That Trying To Control The Climate By Reducing CO2 Emissions Is A Joke

Everyone knows that trying to control the climate by reducing CO2 emissions is a joke -- or at least, everyone knows it who is not completely deluded by climate zealotry. But this is one of those jokes that you're not allowed to laugh at. Instead, you must listen to terribly earnest people telling you how desperately important this is to "save the planet," even as you know that the whole thing is completely preposterous and you are struggling to suppress uncontrolled snickering. Should you respond by making fun of them? If so -- and if you don't want to risk physical violence -- you had better do it in a way that they are too blinded to understand. Fortunately, this is much easier than you might think.

The latest left-wing ecological insanity: Clear-cutting forests to burn the trees for “green” energy

In the interest of stopping “global warming,” government officials in the United Kingdom have partnered with companies and governments in the state of Virginia to hack down large swaths of southern hardwood forest in order to create “biomass” energy for use across the pond.

Since continuing to burn native fossil fuels like coal won’t help the U.K. achieve its greenhouse gas emission reduction targets, the country has decided to clear-cut entire forests here in the United States and burn all the wood that’s collected to generate electricity – and it’s calling this mass destruction of trees “green” energy.
