Poll: Majority of Americans Favor a Border Wall over a Green New Deal

A majority of Americans would rather have a wall sealing America’s southern border than the Green New Deal, according to a poll released on Wednesday.
Fifty-one percent of Americans say that they would rather have a border wall on America’s southern border, compared to 31 percent who say that they want a Green New Deal, according to a poll released by Remington Research Group.

Republicans said that they would prefer a border wall by a 68-point margin, while Independents said that they would prefer a border wall by a two-to-one margin.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez fired back at Ivanka Trump over her criticism of the ‘Green New Deal’ and it’s false promises of guaranteed jobs and good wages.

John Kerry and other climate change alarmists refuse to risk actual debate on their theory

The thing about global warming alarmists is that they can't stand debate. Anyone who disagrees with their theory that humans cause global warming or climate change is called a denier and told to shut up. Not one of us who question the theory that humans, fossil fuels, and CO2 cause warming (or climate change, if you will) has ever said the climate is constant and has never changed, so calling us "deniers" is a bald-faced lie.

Tuesday, that brilliant climate scientist John Kerry was at it again. He penned an op-ed in the Washington Post saying President Trump should disband his "Climate Denial Panel."

Is this the Coldest Winter in 83 years?

Vancouver, where it rarely snows, has had five snow storms this year. It has even been reported that snow has fallen in Las Vegas and Los Angeles. Now that is an extremely rare event by itself in addition to Vancouver.

The winter cold has been severe this year. It appears that we are heading toward this trend in the next 8.6-year cycle if we see this unfold again next year. Given the outlook for food prices into 2024, something just does not look normal on the economic front.

India’s and Pakistan’s War and Nuclear War Plans

One of the most likely places for a major power war or nuclear war is between India and Pakistan. They each have between 80 and 200 nuclear weapons. This is the most likely place where a major nuclear war could break out. It is important for us to understand the situation and the thinking of the two countries.

India and Pakistan have had four major wars in 1947, 1965, 1971 and 1999. They also have had many border skirmishes and incidents.

'There are no diapers left': Race to rescue 183 passengers who have been stranded in the snow on an Amtrak train since SUNDAY and are now running out of food after it struck a downed tree in Oregon

The Amtrak Coast Starlight left Seattle on Sunday morning and should have arrived in Los Angeles on Monday but came to a screeching halt near Oakridge, Oregon, on Sunday night after hitting a downed tree on the tracks (route shown bottom left). There are four feet of snow in every direction and passengers have been told they cannot leave because it is not safe enough. They are running out of food and have been told to fashion diapers out of kitchen cloth and safety pin for the young children onboard. There are 183 people on the train but Amtrak has not told them when they will be able to be freed. The only people who have been allowed off are pet owners who are allowed to take their dogs outside twice a day. Passengers are trying to remain upbeat by playing cards and singing. They have resorted to sleeping in their seats, huddled under coats, to stay warm. They still do not know when they will be rescued or if help is on the way.

Al Gore takes a swipe at Trump as he says the REAL national emergency is climate change-related droughts in Central America which he claims are to blame for migrant caravans bound for the US

Former Vice President Al Gore issued a chilling warning after connecting the dots between droughts related to climate change in Central America and migrant caravans bound for America.

'If you want a definitive ranking of the most serious emergencies we're facing, there's no doubt in my mind that the climate crisis is number one on the list,' Gore told host Mark McKinnon on the most recent episode of the Showtime docu-series The Circus.

Calling President Trump's border wall national emergency a 'political stunt,' Gore launched into evidence that migrant caravans heading to the U.S. are climate-related.

Normally at this time of year I would be reminding folks to water trees if we haven’t had significant precipitation. Watering now would be an exercise in futility. The good news is our plants are deeply watered. The bad news is I may have to crawl under the house to turn on the sump pump. Worse news would be if the creek overflows with all the runoff.

There's money to be made in snow: Brainerd lakes area businesses profit from wild winter

There's no business like snow business.

Record or near-record snowfalls in parts of the state and in the Brainerd lakes area might have winter-weary residents seeing red, but for some snow-related businesses, they see dollar signs.

"We've been running 24 hours around the clock," said James Trantina, president and CEO of Collins Brothers Towing of St. Cloud and Brainerd.

There are 95 tow trucks in his fleet, seven of which are in Brainerd. The company got its start in Elk River in 1996 by founder Phil Collins.

"Lately, it's been a lot of winch-outs, rollovers, semis in the ditch, stuck in their driveway, stuck in parking lots," Trantina said of the weather. "Our expense goes up, our overtime goes up, our fuel bill goes up, but it's definitely work, and we try to make money with it, for sure."

Elgin-area towns say snow and ice storms taking a toll on salt supplies

As the area continues to get pummeled with snow and ice storms, some local municipalities are watching their rock salt supply dwindle.

West Dundee received 300 tons of salt, which represents the remaining amount allowable under West Dundee’s joint purchasing contract this year. Contract terms call for participating municipalities to specify a desired volume of salt the summer prior to the coming winter season. Salt is then competitively bid based on that amount.

The Green New Deal Would Spend the U.S. Into Oblivion

Skeptics of Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s promise of a Green New Deal were worried that the plan would be a Trojan horse for unrealistic and ruinously expensive economic proposals that have little to do with stopping climate change. The unveiling of the plan gives them more reason for worry. Ocasio-Cortez’s Green New Deal appears to take every big spending idea that has emerged on the political left in recent years and combine them into one large package deal, with little notion of how to pay for them all.

Rare Southwest Snowfall Bewilders Southern California And Closes Schools In Las Vegas

It snowed today in parts of California and the desert southwest that aren’t accustomed to seeing much in the way of wintry precipitation. Social media lit up with a mixture of delight and confusion as snowflakes, sleet, graupel, and even hail fell around the Los Angeles metro area. Wintry precipitation is so uncommon at lower elevations in southern California that the National Weather Service in Los Angeles had to explain the difference between different types of icy precipitation. Las Vegas saw measurable snow for a second day in a row on Thursday and the threat for icy roads on Friday morning will give students in the area a rare snow day. Nearly three feet of snow fell in Flagstaff, Arizona, today, which is an all-time record for the most snow the city’s airport has ever measured in one day.

Rare snow dusts Vegas strip, sticks to LA-area foothills

Winter storms in the U.S. Southwest brought snow to places it rarely falls, dusting casino marquees on the Las Vegas Strip and sticking at very low elevations on the foothills around Southern California.

"No need to panic Los Angeles — the LAPD is on snow watch," the city's police department tweeted, along with video of a light flurry.

Snow fell in the Santa Monica Mountains above the Malibu coast. In the nearby celebrity haven of Calabasas, actor Jerry O'Connell recorded video of himself as snow fell on his car and quickly melted. "It is snowing in Calabasas — crazy," he said.

The National Weather Service had said the snow level could lower to 1,000 feet (305 meters).

A storm is unloading feet of snow, creating blizzard conditions and shutting down travel over the mountains of Arizona, New Mexico and southwestern Colorado.

Snow fell over the northern Sierra Nevada, including Donner Summit, California, throughout the day on Wednesday. However, the heaviest snow will not be on the Sierra Nevada but rather the mountains farther to the southeast.

During Wednesday evening, parts of the valley around Las Vegas picked up over 4 inches of snow. Travel became slick and treacherous in the surrounding area as a result.

On Thursday, Interstate 5 at the Grapevine in Southern California was closed as snow created difficult travel.

Schools in Las Vegas were closed on Friday due to the recent snow and current freezing conditions.

Climate Change Indoctrination of Kids Proposed

Sen. Edward J. Markey (D-MA) is responsible for a bill that aims to indoctrinate kids in school with the climate change agenda. The bill’s co-sponsors include three aspirants for the Democratic nomination for president: Kamala Harris, Bernard Sanders and Elizabeth Warren. The other five are Benjamin L. Cardin, Dianne Feinstein, Patty Murray, Jeanne Shaheen and Chris Van Hollen.

The bill is S.2740 – Climate Change Education Act. The bill would “authorize the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to establish a Climate Change Education Program…” The NOAA would spread “grant” money to schools via state and local “agencies”.

The bill proposes indoctrinating children, not educating them. Indoctrination is inculcating beliefs uncritically, whereas education means “leading out” the mind or enlightening the mind to learn to think.

Snow and sleet gave way to rain and freezing rain Wednesday across the D.C. area, leaving surfaces slick and increasing the risk of power outages.

Indeed, the National Weather Service has extended the winter storm warning for the areas north and west of D.C. until 1 a.m. Thursday, as temperatures had gone up more slowly than projected.

Stinneford said just before 6 p.m. that a few pockets of snow were still falling in the southern suburbs of D.C., and that what he called the “messy mix” of sleet and freezing rain would continue, with plain rain moving south to north, and ice forming to varying degrees across the region.

More than 200 million Americans will see snow, rain, ice or a wintry mix

A major storm will bring snow, rain, ice or a wintry mix to more than 200 million Americans beginning Tuesday, impacting roughly 60 percent of the U.S. population.

Parts of 39 of the 48 contiguous United States will be touched by the massive storm, including every state east of the Mississippi River. The storm will have such an impact on so many because it will reach parts of 26 of the 30 most populous states.

As the large storm rolls up the Eastern Seaboard at midweek, it will bring snow, ice and difficult travel to the Midwest and Northeast.

This latest round of snow gave us a little more than we expected as southeastern Wisconsin is waking up Monday to almost 10 inches of snow in some areas.

Sunday's all-day light snow turned to overnight lake-effect snow along Lake Michigan.

Early snow totals from the National Weather Service office in Sullivan included 9.5 inches in West Allis, 6.5 at Mitchell International, 8 in Pleasant Prairie, 4.6 in Oconomowoc, 7.5 in Racine and 6 in Jackson.

You'll want to get that cleared off the driveway because more is in the forecast overnight Tuesday into Wednesday, perhaps around 2 to 3 inches, plus some freezing rain or freezing drizzle.

Who’s Behind the Green New Deal? Big Money Backs Ocasio-Cortez Socialist Dream Project

The Green New Deal blueprint introduced by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was crafted by three far-left organizations and is being pushed by a coalition of well-funded professional progressive groups and known leftist agitators.

Earlier this month, Ocasio-Cortez posted an 11-page Google document in the form of a nonbinding legislative resolution that has become the most authoritative version of the Green New Deal, a broad outline for the current conception of the socialist-style plan.

Sea level data ALTERED by scientists to create false impression of rising oceans

A scientific paper published by a team of Australian researchers has revealed a startling find: Scientists at the Permanent Service for Mean Sea Level (PSMSL) have been “adjusting” historical data regarding tide levels in the Indian Ocean. Their “highly questionable” activities have depicted rapidly rising seas — but the truth is that there is no reason to be alarmed at all. Scientists have found that sea levels are stable — and have been for the entirety of the 20th century.

To put it simply, these PSMSL “scientists” have been arbitrarily changing their data in order to create the illusion of a problem that doesn’t actually exist.

Keen snow sports fans in California and across the West Coast have been ordered to stay home this holiday weekend because ski resorts were taking in too much snow.

Winter weather enveloping California's mountains for a fourth straight day Friday kept skiers from hitting the slopes at the start of the Presidents' Day holiday weekend, with snow so deep that plows could not tackle it and cities scrambled to find places to pile it.

Mammoth Mountain was about to break a more than 30-year record for monthly snowfall and skiers and snowboarders should be able to reach the slopes as long as they have chains or snow tires, resort spokesman Justin Romano said.

Snow made for slippery Monday morning commute, more showers expected through the afternoon

Snow mixed with sleet made for a slippery Monday morning commute in some parts of the state.

But the Presidents Day holiday meant less traffic on the roads, as state offices and most schools are closed.

Major roads across most of central Connecticut were reported to be clear during the peak morning hours, and I-84 in Hartford was flowing freely in both directions. But snow flurries and short bouts of freezing rain continued to fall, and state police advised drivers to use caution.

Traffic in Sierra at standstill following weekend of snow

Traffic in the Sierra Nevada has been at a near-standstill for most of Sunday as weekend travelers attempted to head home amid snow and slush.

Although both Highway 50 and Interstate 80 are open, chain controls are required on Interstate 80 from Colfax to the Nevada state line, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Snow plow rage turns violent, too much snow keeps skiers off of Sierra slopes in western US

Two plow drivers clearing streets were threatened during this past week by people infuriated when their driveways ended up blocked with mounds of snow in the Spokane, Washington, area.

According to Spokane County spokeswoman Martha Lou Wheatley-Billeter, during one incident, a man with a holstered handgun yelled obscenities at a plow driver and climbed onto the plow truck, trying to open a door.

Snow storm brings whiteout to regions of California

Skiers eager to hit the slopes had to sit out a Presidents' Day holiday weekend as heavy snow and rain fell for a fourth straight day Friday in California's mountains, where the snow was so deep in some areas plows couldn't go out and cities were running out of places to pile it.

Several routes to the ski mecca of Lake Tahoe were closed Friday, including about 70 miles of Interstate 80 from Colfax, California, to the Nevada state line. Chains were required for travel in many other parts of the towering range.

"They have ordered up a large blower to try and clear the pass," Placer County Sheriff Lt. Andrew Scott said in a tweet he posted with a video of a snow-covered I-80. "Please stay home."

The storm is forecast to dump between 3 and 6 feet of fresh snow in a region where some ski resorts reported getting 3 feet of snow since Thursday. An avalanche warning was issued for the greater Lake Tahoe Area, where heavy snow and high winds are forecast through Sunday.

Maui Snow Sticks Around for Weekend, Flooding Rain in Forecast

The Winter Weather Advisory has been extended and is now in effect until 10 a.m. for the summit of Haleakal? on Maui and the summits of Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa on Hawai?i Island.

The National Weather Service says occasional snow showers will continue to impact the highest elevations through mid morning Saturday. Snow covered and icy roadways leading to the summits will make travel to the summits extremely dangerous.

Due to the life-threatening conditions, the National Park Service has closed the road leading to the summit of Haleakal?. Travel to the summits should be avoided until the roadways have been cleared from snow and ice and deemed safe for travel.

Climate Change Religion And Related Cover-Ups: What The Hell Is NASA Hiding?

The shrill voices of climate change hucksters get louder every day. Supposedly the world will end in 12 years. It won't.

Someone asked me on Twitter today "who are you to debate climate scientists."

Well, who are priests and clergy to debate Darwinism? Should we prevent debate that does not suit us?

Here's a widely held view: Climate Change Denial Should Be a Crime

In 1663, leading scientists all thought the sun revolved around the earth. The Catholic Church Convicted Galileo of Heresy for disputing the claim.

Supposedly, we are brighter today.

But why do we have scientists faking data and suppressing data that does not meet the cause?

Climategate
The Climate Scandal of the Decade involves fundamentally flawed methods and data manipulation to produce a "hockey stick" rise in temperatures.

McConnell to Force Democrats to Vote for the Ridiculous Green New Deal

Last week, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez embarrassed herself and the entire Democratic Party when she finally pulled the cover back on her much-anticipated Green New Deal legislation…and it turned out to be a ridiculous dud. One of the most absurd bills to ever be announced in Washington, the GND’s details immediately sparked a firestorm of mockery which led to Ocasio-Cortez and her people yanking an elaborate FAQ section off the internet and declaring it a distortion of the bill’s reality.

We’re not sure anyone bought that, though, and now there are several Democratic candidates for president who will be forced to explain whether or not they actually support a bill that aims to – among other things – eliminate every car, boat, and plane in America within ten years.

Group asks residents and local businesses to shovel when there is snow

It seems like the snow just doesn't want to stop lately.

and for many of us, it creates hazards on the streets, driveways, parking lots and much more.

Independence Inc. in Minot started an initiative earlier this season to raise awareness for residents and businesses to clear snow as soon as it hits the ground.

Not shoveling snow makes it inaccessible to those who have to walk.

The organization has been able to reach out to many but they still notice businesses and residential areas are not being shoveled.

Martin Armstrong Slams Al Gore's Deliberate Global Warming Fraud To Increase Governmental Power

There was this core group of people who seemed to enjoy all the attention they were gathering by predicting the end of civilization caused by humans. As the temperatures began to warm, suddenly they had to switch the dire forecasts from global cooling caused by humans to global warming caused by humans.

Al Gore came to the rescue. Global cooling meant that government should stockpile food for everyone, but that would cost money. Switching to global warming would create a different agenda that they were familiar with. Like smoking, they could tax it to HELP people. Of course, when they did stop and tax revenues began to decline, they introduced taxes on e-cigarettes and didn’t try to deter people from smoking.

Search for Shackleton's Antarctic Shipwreck Turns Back to Avoid Deadly Ice Trap

Worsening weather and nearly impenetrable sea ice have forced a research ship to abandon its search for the 1915 wreck of Ernest Shackleton's ice-bound ship Endurance in Antarctica's Weddell Sea.

The inclement weather and heavy ice also caused the loss of one of two autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) that had spent several days searching for the wreck on the seafloor. The AUVs were transported by the South African polar research ship Agulhas II.

The expedition team announced today (Feb. 14) that they had abandoned the search for the wreck and the Agulhas II was now returning northward, to the edge of the Weddell Sea, to avoid being trapped.

McConnell Says Senate Will Vote On Ocasio-Cortez's "Green New Deal"

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell just lobbed what we imagine will be the first of many stink bombs into the 2020 Democratic primary.

During a news conference on Tuesday where he was flanked by fellow Senate Republican, McConnell revealed that he plans to call a vote on the Green New Deal bill proposed by NYC Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Massachusetts Sen. Ed Markey, a plan that, as we have noted, is filled with extreme proposals like rebuilding every building in the US, and weaning the US off all carbon-based forms of energy within 10 years.

While the plan doesn't have a prayer of passing in the Republican majority Senate, McConnell's intentions should be clear to any avid follower of US politics. Now that no fewer than five Democratic Senators have announced their 2020 campaigns, McConnell is going to force them to make a choice with potentially major consequences down the line:

Winter storm bears down on upper Midwest and Northeast, cancelling 2,000 flights and leaving at least 100,000 without power

A major winter storm is moving from the upper Midwest into the Northeast, causing significant travel impacts and the possibility of power disruptions.

On Tuesday morning, the leading edge of the storm hit New York City, where two to four inches of snow are forecast before the storm turns into a messy mix of ice and rain around midday.

'The potential exists for 6 to 12 inches of snow from northern Wisconsin to northern Michigan, and even higher amounts across upstate New York and northern New England with 12 to 18 inches possible,' the National Weather Service said in a flash bulletin on Tuesday.

Are the Democrats Bent on Suicide?

After reading an especially radical platform agreed upon by the British Labor Party, one Tory wag described it as “the longest suicide note in history.”

The phrase comes to mind on reading of the resolution calling for a Green New Deal, advanced by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and endorsed by at least five of the major Democratic candidates for president.

The Green New Deal is designed to recall the halcyon days of the 1930s, when, so the story goes, FDR came to Washington to enact the historic reforms that rescued America from the Great Depression.

Only that story is more than a small myth.

Green New Deal Would Kill Almost Everyone, Warns Greenpeace Co-Founder

The “Green New Deal” proposed by congressional Democrats is a “recipe for mass suicide” and the “most ridiculous scenario I ever heard,” Greenpeace Co-Founder Patrick Moore (shown) warned in an exclusive interview with The New American. In fact, Dr. Moore warned that if the “completely preposterous” prescriptions in the scheme were actually implemented, Americans could be forced to turn to cannibalism to avoid starvation — and they still would not survive. Other experts such as Craig Rucker, the executive director of the environmental group Committee for a Constructive Tomorrow (CFACT), also sounded the alarm about the “green” proposal in Congress, comparing it to Soviet five-year plans and calling it a “prescription for disaster.”

Behar and McCain Clash in ‘Hissy Fit’ Over Democrat Amy Klobuchar’s Candidacy

FLASHBACK - Trump's Right About California's Fires: It Wasn't Climate Change; Two New California Laws Prove It

The facts are clear: California’s deadliest year of wildfires has been decades in the making, with overlapping environmental rules, both state and federal, making fuel load reductions in forests and coastal chaparral nearly impossible, while hostility towards commercial timber harvesting has allowed a massive build up in tree density and brush with a concurrent reduction of access roads and firebreaks.

Yet in spite of blaming climate change and attacking President Trump for suggesting bad environmental policies made California’s fires worse, California’s outgoing governor, Jerry Brown, quietly signed two bills to correct the worst of the state’s fire management policy missteps, proving Trump was right all along.

Winter weather wreaks havoc across county

Snow and ice shut down Haleakala National Park’s Summit District on Sunday, while downpours and strong winds took down power lines and trees, and high surf pushed boats ashore in West and South Maui.

The wintry conditions were brought on by a powerful storm tracking southward toward the Hawaiian Islands, bringing a band of enhanced moisture and predictions of up to 3 inches of snow on the summit of Haleakala, the National Weather Service said.

Shortly after noon on Sunday, the Summit District was closed due to snowy and icy road conditions, as well as power outages throughout the district, park spokesperson Nancy Stimson said. The closure was scheduled to remain in effect through at least 9 a.m. today, and today’s sunrise viewing was also canceled. Maui County officials also warned the public not to drive toward the summit.

Hawaii recorded what may be the lowest elevation snow in state history

Snow falls in Hawaii a few times a year in winter on the state's highest peak, Mauna Kea rising 13,803 elevation in feet, but the white stuff is rarely seen at elevations below 9,000 feet to 10,000 feet.

On Sunday, Maui's 10,ooo-foot Haleakala received a thick dusting and snow also accumulated at 6,200 feet in Polipoli State Recreation Area.

Officials at the Department of Land and Natural Resources say this could mark the lowest-elevation snowfall ever recorded in the state.
