Peak libtard? Delusional NY Governor Andrew Cuomo claims “We didn’t have hurricanes” before climate change, denying centuries of recorded history

Now, taking the prize as perhaps the most ignorant libtard in New York — which is really saying something — Gov. Andrew Cuomo (Loonbag-N.Y.) claims hurricanes never appeared on planet Earth before “climate change” occurred. In an interview with MSNBC, he said it straight out:

You know, anyone who questions extreme weather and climate change is just delusional at this point. We have seen in the State of New York what everyone is seeing. We see these weather patterns that we never had before. We didn’t have hurricanes, we didn’t have superstorms, we didn’t have tornadoes.

The historical record of severe storms begs to differ.

Halloween Surprise: 96-Year-Old Record Snowfall in Chicago, Across U.S.

A storm that made many areas of the Midwest feel more like winter than fall shattered a 96-year-old winter weather record in Chicago.

The historic storm system— which brought snow and cold over the Colorado Rockies this week— made it to the Midwest on Thursday morning, unleashing moderate-to-heavy snowfall in northeastern Kansas, eastern Iowa, Illinois, and southern Wisconsin.

The total accumulation expected in these areas is 3 to 5 inches of snow.

Chicago experienced its earliest snow day of the year where an inch or more of snow fell since October 20, 1989, and smashed its previous record of 0.7 inches at Chicago O’Hare International Airport on Wednesday with a whopping 1.2 inches of snow.

Record Low Temps, Up To 50 Degrees Below Normal, Threaten To Wreck Rest Of Harvest Season

It isn’t supposed to be this cold in October. The official start of winter is still almost two months away, and yet the weather in much of the western half of the country right now resembles what we might expect in mid-January. All-time record lows for the month of October are being set in city after city, and this extremely cold air is going to push into the Midwest by the end of the week.

Temperatures in the heartland will be up to 50 degrees below normal, and unfortunately about half of all corn still has not been harvested. Due to unprecedented rainfall and extreme flooding early in the year, many farmers faced extraordinary delays in getting their crops planted, and so they were hoping that good weather at the end of the season would provide time for the crops to fully mature and be harvested. Unfortunately, a nightmare scenario has materialized instead.

Utah sees record cold of -43.6 ºF – ‘Perhaps the lowest October temperature ever recorded’ in continental U.S.

Meteorologist Paul Dorian: "Perhaps the most amazing temperature recorded in this unusual cold spell for the western US took place earlier today in the remote observing station of Peter Sinks, Utah...the unofficial overnight low temperature there of -43.6 ºF is pretty amazing for this time of year and perhaps the lowest temperature ever recorded in the Lower 48 during the month of October. Nearby Salt Lake City, Utah provided some supporting evidence of the extreme cold as it set a low temperature record of 14 ºF for the date and records there go all the way back to 1874.

The Cost of Climate Change Indoctrination

From a comment on Facebook from Jeff McQueen:

After our daughter of fifteen years of age was moved to tears by the speech of Greta Thunberg at the UN the other day, she became angry with our generation “who had been doing nothing for thirty years.”

So, we decided to help her prevent what the girl on TV announced of “massive eradication and the disappearance of entire ecosystems.”

We are now committed to give our daughter a future again, by doing our part to help cool the planet four degrees.

From now on she will go to school on a bicycle, because driving her by car costs fuel, and fuel puts emissions into the atmosphere. Of course it will be winter soon and then she will want to go by bus, but only as long as it is a diesel bus.

Somehow, that does not seem to be conducive to ‘helping the Climate’.

The Bogus "Consensus" Argument on Climate Change

One of the popular rhetorical moves in the climate change debate is for advocates of aggressive government intervention to claim that “97% of scientists” agree with their position, and so therefore any critics must be unscientific “deniers.”

Now these claims have been dubious from the start; people like David Friedman have demonstrated that the “97% consensus” assertion became a talking point only through a biased procedure that mischaracterized how journal articles were rated, and thereby inflating the estimate.

Climate alarmists drop the polar bear as their mascot since polar bears are thriving, with record population numbers

You probably won’t be seeing too many polar bears in the mainstream media anymore now that the climate brigade has decided to drop the furry arctic animal from its propaganda lineup.

The reason, as we recently reported, has to do with the fact that, contrary to the prevailing climate narrative, polar bear numbers are increasing, not decreasing.

In other words, despite the alleged pandemic of “global warming” and melting polar ice caps, polar bears are doing just fine – so well, in fact, that in some areas hunters are being encouraged to kill more of them in order to thin out their population numbers.

"Apocalypse Near" - Pentagon Warns Climate Change Could Cause US Military Collapse Within 20 Years

Authored by Yves Smith via NakedCapitalism.com,

The Pentagon has long been concerned about the threats climate change pose to stability and how it will lead to conflicts due to mass migration and even more intense competition for scarce resources. In the early 2000s, the military warned that climate change could induce large-scale deaths and migrations out of low-lying areas such as Bangladesh due to storms and flooding.

A recent look at the dangers climate change poses to US military operations, released over the summer by the Army War College, went virtually unnoticed despite offering “Apocalypse Near” scenarios a mere 20 years out. And it isn’t just that very bad things are in the offing; the report finds that “the Department of Defense (DoD) is precariously unprepared for the national security implications of climate change-induced global security challenges.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Forgive me, but have the writers of this "report" been channeling Al Gore's and Greta Thunberg's writings, using a dart board to determine what to include, and what to exclude?!?

Because what this feels like, from our Military, is another pitiful bid for yet more money for their already-bloated, unaccountable programs, trying to drum up sympathy by using the "climate change ruse", when they cannot prove just precisely what was done for the last budget round by Congress.

NASA – Next Solar Cycle will be Weakest in 200 Years

September 5, 2019 by Robert at Ice Age Now

NASA dropped this bombshell announcement in a little-heralded news release coyly entitled “Solar Activity Forecast for Next Decade Favorable for Exploration.” In other words, NASA tried to make it sound like good news.

In the release, dated 12 June 2019, NASA described the upcoming decline in solar activity as a window of opportunity for space exploration instead of acknowledging the disastrous consequences such a decline could wreak on civilization.

Study Finds the Wealthy & Celebrities Aren’t Changing Their Flying Habits to Reduce CO2 Emissions

The study, carried out by researchers from from Lund University, reviewed the social media accounts of well known celebrities and wealthy philanthropists, many of who relentlessly virtue signal about climate change.

Based on the information posted relating to travel, researchers calculated the starting point and destination for flights and then worked out likely CO2 emissions.

Climate activist Bill Gates was responsible for approximately 1,600 tonnes of carbon dioxide, while flights used by Paris Hilton and Jennifer Lopez emitted 1,260 tonnes and 1,050 tonnes respectively.

These figures compare to a global average of 100 kilos per person per year for air travel, or in other words more than a thousand times higher.

According to the researchers, only a minority of the individuals studied have altered their behavior to minimize or stop flying.

Greta Thunberg: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know

Her ancestor on her father’s side is the Nobel Prize winner, Svante Arrhenius. Arrhenius was a Swedish physicist and chemist who received the Nobel Prize for Chemistry in 1903. He is known for myriad scientific contributions but it was his discovery that increases in atmospheric carbon dioxide increase the Earth’s surface temperature. That finding led to the conclusion that human-made carbon dioxide emissions cause global warming.

Report: 95 percent of global warming models are wrong

Former NASA scientist Dr. Roy Spencer says that climate models used by government agencies to create policies “have failed miserably.” Spencer analyzed 90 climate models against surface temperature and satellite temperature data, and found that more than 95 percent of the models “have over-forecast the warming trend since 1979, whether we use their own surface temperature dataset (HadCRUT4), or our satellite dataset of lower tropospheric temperatures (UAH).”

“I am growing weary of the variety of emotional, misleading, and policy-useless statements like ‘most warming since the 1950s is human caused’ or ‘97% of climate scientists agree humans are contributing to warming’, neither of which leads to the conclusion we need to substantially increase energy prices and freeze and starve more poor people to death for the greater good. Yet, that is the direction we are heading,” Spencer wrote on his blog.

How the Queen could bag herself a cool £100M a year thanks to a new auction

Her Majesty could bag herself an extra £100million a year following an expansion in offshore wind farms. According to MailOnline, auctions for the offshore development officially began last week. This is due to a 2012 move by then Chancellor George Osborne to replace the Civil List with the Sovereign Grant.

The new Grant gives the Queen 25 percent of profits from the Crown Estate, which owns the seabed within British territorial waters, which extend almost 14 miles from the coast.

The Estate charges rent equal to two percent of revenues for use of seabeds for wind farms and collected £41million last year.

It will also collect “option fees” from the successful bidders for the five new concessions.

But a counter-protester said: 'We care for the environment, of course we do. What they need to understand is that we're hurting and we also need to care about Alberta jobs.'

The honking horns of big rig trucks blared from a nearby thoroughfare, where vehicles emblazoned with 'We love Canada energy' signs were driving up and down.

'When they charged their iPhones last night, that power came from this plant,' he said, pointing to the former coal-fired Keephills power plant near Edmonton that was being converted to natural gas.

The Elite Machine Behind Greta Thunberg

In the matter of a few months, Greta Thunberg went from a lone girl protesting in front of the Swedish parliament to an international phenomenon. Although mass media is making it seem as if this meteoric rise to prominence happened organically, this is simply not true.

Behind Greta is a major machine, one that is controlled by major international actors and backed by major funds. This PR machine has allowed Greta to make the covers of magazines, become the subject of thousands of news articles while being photographed with world leaders and giving speeches at elite organizations such as the United Nations.

Although Greta might very well be genuinely concerned with the fate of the planet, her message is carefully crafted by those who control her to generate a specific response from the youth. In short, Greta is the face of a major marketing scheme – a tightly coordinated international effort to sell global warming through a specific lens: Fear, panic, and urgency.

Manufactured climate hysteria of Greta Thunberg a repeat of what Severn Cullis-Suzuki did back in 1992

Many people don’t realize this, but Greta Thunberg’s little climate temper tantrum at the United Nations recently has already been tried on at least one prior occasion.

It was the year 1992, in fact, when 12-year-old Severn Cullis-Suzuki of Canada spoke at the plenary session of the U.N.’s Earth Summit, which took place in Rio de Janeiro that year, saying many of the same things that Greta is now parroting.

Severn, who repeatedly spoke of her “fear” of global warming at the summit, used many of the same buzzwords as Greta, including constant references to being “just a child.” Severn also read her carefully crafted speech, which was obviously written by someone other than herself.

Extreme snow stopped plants and animals breeding in parts of Greenland

Increasingly extreme Arctic weather could threaten the survival of wildlife, biologists are warning. In 2018, it snowed so heavily that many areas remained covered in snow well into the summer, preventing almost all plants and animals from breeding.

“If this is a one-time event, it’s not an issue,” says Niels Martin Schmidt at Aarhus University in Denmark. Arctic wildlife can cope with occasional bad years, he says.

But he fears that this kind of extreme weather could become much more common, potentially leading to the extinction of some species. “This could be a glimpse into the future,” says Schmidt.

Real scientists declare: There is no climate emergency

Some 500 scientists and professionals just last week signed on to what’s been dubbed the “European Climate Declaration,” a scientific statement, of sorts, that counters the climate lies being peddled by the likes of Greta, whom we’ve exposed as a globalist psy-op playing her part in the climate change money-making scam.

This declaration debunks the wild assertion that “97 percent of climatologists agree that anthropogenic climate change is occurring,” which is patently false. It also destroys the so-called “modeling” that climate fanatics claim “proves” that “catastrophic climate change will occur in the next [pick a number] years unless drastic changes are made.”

Minnesota Weather: Snow Possible In The Twin Cities This Weekend, Accumulating Snow In Northwestern Minnesota

Enjoy Wednesday’s summer-like warmth, with sunny skies and highs in the low 70s, because the next few days will bring significant changes. By the weekend, snow could be falling in the Twin Cities.

According to Augustyniak, the next few days will be a carousel through the seasons. Thursday will feel like spring, as there’ll be rain showers and possible storms. Friday will feel like fall, as temperatures drop and snow swirls in the Red River Valley, and Saturday will feel like winter, with accumulating snow in western Minnesota and slushy, wet snow possible in the Twin Cities.

First snow and a 40+ degree drop in temps expected late this week

Our first blast of winter is already on its way! A strong cold front will arrive by Thursday and is expected to bring us a round of snow and cold.

Temperatures are expected to drop 40+ degrees Wednesday into Thursday, so you'll need to dig out that heavy winter coat! It is still too early to determine snow accumulation, if any, but typically early season snows don't amount to a lot of problems. That is due to warm ground temperatures. If snow were to accumulate, it would likely be on grassy and elevated surfaces. Snow would have to fall very heavily within a short amount of time for it to pile up and cause huge problems on the roads and mountain passes.

Stay with the KRDO Network and the StormTracker 13 weather team for the latest on the forecast and for any changes that may develop.

SEPTEMBER’S ‘HISTORIC’ STORM IN THE NORTH COUNTRY

Winter in North Idaho and other parts of the Pacific Northwest got off to a very early and rare start last weekend. For the 2019-20 season, Cliff has measured 1.1 inches of snow at his station. In Montana, this “historic” storm dumped 4 feet of snow in Browning, a town near Glacier National Park.

Snow was also reported in Missoula last Saturday. It was the first time since records began in 1893 that snow was measured in Missoula on Sept. 28.

Rare snowfalls were also seen in Nevada last weekend as well. The National Weather Service reported that 0.8 inches of snow fell on Sunday, Sept. 29. That was also the first snowfall on that date for Winnemucca since records began in 1877.

We seem to be in a weather pattern where Spokane has been receiving more moisture than Coeur d’Alene. The big snowstorm dumped 3.3 inches at the Spokane International Airport last weekend, more than 2 inches than what was measured in Coeur d’Alene and some surrounding towns in North Idaho.

The fiddling with temperature data is the biggest science scandal ever

New data shows that the “vanishing” of polar ice is not the result of runaway global warming

When future generations look back on the global-warming scare of the past 30 years, nothing will shock them more than the extent to which the official temperature records – on which the entire panic ultimately rested – were systematically “adjusted” to show the Earth as having warmed much more than the actual data justified.

Two weeks ago, under the headline “How we are being tricked by flawed data on global warming”, I wrote about Paul Homewood, who, on his Notalotofpeopleknowthat blog, had checked the published temperature graphs for three weather stations in Paraguay against the temperatures that had originally been recorded. In each instance, the actual trend of 60 years of data had been dramatically reversed, so that a cooling trend was changed to one that showed a marked warming.

UK weather: Britain hit by SNOW in 10 days as forecasters warn COLDEST winter for 70 years

Flagging solar activity leading to cooler than normal Gulf Stream waters will in part drive the cold weather, he added.

It could mean Britain is gearing up for one of the most savage winters on record rivalling the mega-chiller of 1963 – the coldest for 200 years.

Mr Madden said: “The unusually cold weather will in part be due to a period of low solar activity.

“This is relevant as solar energy effects ocean currents including the Gulf Stream currents which have a knock-on effect on the jet stream brining cold air in the UK and bringing these weather patterns.

“Applying these factors to long-range weather indications can successfully allow us to identify cold weather patterns coming up.

“Similar methods have allowed us to identify some previous record-breaking cold weather events such as those seen in 2010 and 2013 when cold weather lasted into spring.”

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) faced awkward moments during a town hall meeting on Thursday evening, when a woman stood up and said it was time to “start eating babies” to save the planet from imminent climate-induced doom.

Consensus = Collusion: "Oceans Warming Faster Then Thought" Paper Cited by IPCC- RETRACTED

Pretty sure this blog will be one of a minuscule number of places that will cover this retraction. Haven't seen it mentioned elsewhere. Other then at Science 2.0.
"An ocean heat uptake paper published in Nature has been retracted, and it is a credit to the authors for pulling it, but it's also an indictment of the kind of insular culture that corporate peer review creates.

Especially when the science is a political hot potato like climate, where no one wants to be critical lest they feel like they are aiding global warming deniers. Or worse, being labeled that themselves as part of a #cancelculture agenda."

Putin Shames Greta Thunberg And Her Handlers Over Environmental Agenda

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday chided Swedish environmentalist Greta Thunberg and her adult handlers, after the 16-year-old gave an emotional speech at the UN late last month.

"Sure, Greta is kind, but emotions should not control this issue," said Putin.

"Go and explain to developing countries why they should continue living in poverty and not be like Sweden," he added, before saying that it was deplorable how some groups are using Thunberg to achieve their own goals.

In her speech last week, Thunberg lashed out at the United Nations - saying "You have stolen my dreams and my childhood with your empty words."

Webmaster's Commentary:

Putin said this gently, and I am glad that he did say what he said in this manner.

And BTW, did you know that Putin and his ex-wife, adopted two German girls when they were very young?!? The Women in Putin's Life

I think that having been a part of raising two girls, who were 16 within a year of each other, gave Putin a knowledge and wisdom about how to speak to her address in the way he did.

OH, and BTW: this gal is an actor, and already has a page at IMBD:

Greta Thungerg

It appears that her "Save the World" tour has been orchestrated to get her involved with that, by capturing the sympathies of the "warmistas", and possibly cold hard cash for some other, more auspicious "face time" for herself..

WINTER IS COMING: Area sets record for snow in September, power outages impact several in Stevens County

KREM 2 meteorologist Tom Sherry stood in front of a loud crowd of Springdale and Northport football fans on Friday night as the rain begin to pour on the field and northern Stevens County.

“I predicted this!” Tom exclaimed as a joke. But he was right, as various weather services warned of an impending snow storm for mountain areas with white stuff possibly finding its way down into valley areas.

And that is exactly what happened. Spokane set records for both daily and monthly snow totals. It was also the first measurable snow in September for the Lilac City since 1926. The Spokesman-Review reported wind chill dropped the temperature at the Spokane International Airport to 21 degrees at 1 a.m. on Sunday morning.

Couple Expected It to Be Sunny and 75 on Wedding Day — They Got a Snowstorm Instead

A freak blizzard turned what was supposed to be a sunny and warm outdoor wedding into a winter disaster.

With wind howling and snow blowing sideways, newlyweds Sean and Brittany Tuohy managed to smile, share a kiss and even have fun with their wedding party while posing for photos outside in Spokane, Washington, over the weekend.

The bridesmaids were dressed in summer attire and the couple, who grew up in the Pacific Northwest and now live in Arizona, was shocked there was snow this early in the season.

‘There Is No Climate Emergency’: Scientists Call for Reasoned Debate

The message was clear: “There is no climate emergency.”

With those five simple words, a global network of scientists and professionals attempted to inject reasonableness and decorum into what should be a robust discussion about a complex scientific and public policy issue, but has instead degenerated into an ever more intense mud-slinging contest over the years.

People on one side of the argument dismiss their opponents as wild-eyed socialists attempting to leverage public fear and ignorance to further their political agenda. On the opposite side, people dismiss those who disagree with their supposedly settled scientific conclusions as nothing more than knowing shills or ignorant dupes of evil energy interests.

Webmaster's Commentary:

"Just as soon as we dig out from under all this snow!"

Mother Nature Delivers Wintry Blast To The Sierra

Mother Nature delivered a wintry blast to the Sierra Monday, dumping several inches of snow on the Lake Tahoe ski resorts and forcing early morning travelers to use chains on the I-80 and Highway 50 mountain passes.

Temperatures plunged into the 20s around Lake Tahoe as the storm front generated by a cold low pressure system descending into the mountain states rolled through the area.

The National Weather Service said a significant snow fell for the first time at the Reno-Tahoe Airport since Sept. 28, 2007.

Officials at Squaw Valley said they had received four inches of snow over the weekend.

Winter already? All-time snow records fall in Spokane; Cascades get first snow, too

While temperatures dropped into the 30s and 40s around Western Washington -- Olympia had their inaugural freeze of the year at 32 degrees Monday morning -- it went to downright surreal in parts of Eastern Washington.

As a chilly weather system dropped down from Alaska, that area saw historic snows stretching from the Spokane Valley into Montana.

Saturday, Spokane Airport received 1.9 inches of snow which made it the snowiest September day in the city's history and first measurable September snow in 93 years, according to the National Weather Service.

Global Warming Fraud Exposed In Pictures

Climate change alarmists have convinced the public something must be done now. The reports are easily debunked as fraud.

My Gift To Climate Alarmists

Tony Heller does an amazing job of showing how the fraud takes place in his video entitled My Gift To Climate Alarmists.

Climate change that ignores history

In January 1970, Life magazine, based on “solid scientific evidence”, claimed that by 1985 air pollution would reduce the sunlight reaching the Earth by half. In fact, across that period sunlight fell by between 3 per cent and 5 per cent. In a 1971 speech, Paul Ehrlich said: “If I were a gambler I would take even money that England will not exist in the year 2000.”

Fast forward to March 2000 and David Viner, senior research scientist at the Climatic Research Unit, University of East Anglia, told The Independent, “Snowfalls are now a thing of the past.” In December 2010, the Mail Online reported, “Coldest December since records began as temperatures plummet to minus 10C bringing travel chaos across Britain”.

Why Even Liberals Should Be “Climate Change Skeptics”

By Tom Mullen

When you’re several decades older than Greta Thunberg, her impassioned warning of impending doom hits you differently than it may college students or early twentysomethings. In a word, it sounded “familiar.”

I’m not just talking about the climate change movement, nor exclusively about the left side of the political spectrum. I’ve been hearing about impending doom that can only be averted by massive increases in the size and scope of government my whole life, from both the right and the left...

Holy Greta! Archbishop of Sweden Compares 16-Year-Old Climate Alarmist to Biblical Prophets

The Church of Sweden has demanded that the government adopt a more strenuous climate policy. At the same time, Archbishop Antje Jackelén compared her compatriot and teenage activist Greta Thunberg, the figurehead of the international climate strike movement, to Old Testament prophets.

In its revised Episcopal Letter for the Climate, the Church of Sweden has demanded a tougher climate policy from Sweden's politicians and authorities.

Among others, the letter features stronger rhetoric, as the previous phrasing “climate challenges” has been replaced by harsher wording: “climate crisis”. According to the church, Sweden must make good on its stated goal to achieve “climate neutrality” by 2045.
