Global carbon growth stalls as US coal continues to slump

Declining consumption of coal in the US last year played a significant role in keeping down global emissions of carbon dioxide, according to a new report.

The Global Carbon Project annual analysis shows that CO2 emissions were almost flat for the third year in a row, despite a rise in economic growth.

The slowdown in the Chinese economy since 2012 has also been a key factor limiting carbon.

‘Gender-Equal Snow Ploughing’ Plunges Stockholm into Chaos

Previously, fresh snowfalls were cleared first from main roads and by areas like construction sites before being removed from pavements and cycle lanes. As men are more likely to drive and women more likely to travel on foot, more women slipped on the ice which led to complaints that the system was sexist.

Vice-mayor of Stockholm, the Green Party’s Daniel Helldén, admitted that “equality snow removal” had failed the city, and apologised to residents who had injured themselves as a result.

Giant-sized snowballs have appeared along the Siberian coastline - which experts warn could have freezing consequences for the United States.

The frozen balls, which each measure almost three feet across, stretch across an 11-mile section of coastline near the village of Nyda which sits above the Arctic Circle, according to Russian media.

A village administrator told The Siberian Times that the snowballs formed in late October when the Gulf of Ob rose up onto land and covered the beach in ice.

Mid-spring freeze hits New Zealand

A mid-spring freeze has hit New Zealand with sub-zero temperatures, frost and snow, hitting parts of the country this morning.

Queenstown has slipped to below freezing, with an extreme low of -0.9degrees overnight. Frosts in the area and other parts of inland South Island has made for some icy conditions on the roads.

A pilot, fighting frost near Queenstown, was seriously injured when his chopper crashed at 4.30am, just outside of Wanaka. He managed to climb out of the wreck, and was taken to a local hospital.

This morning's high was a paltry 12.4 degrees at the other end of the country - Kaitaia.

While the temperatures are expected to stay on the cooler side of spring today, after some morning showers in parts of the country, the sun is expected to shine.

A monocrystalline, or polycrystalline solar panel is a rock, that you put on your roof, and it produces electricity, virtually FOREVER. The "crystals" are cut. But as the sun turns bits of it to electricity, the cut surface develops molecular mountains and valleys, thereby actually increasing surface area. The very first 'solar cell' was made 60 years ago, and still produces to this day.

Earth faces another ICE AGE within 15 YEARS as Russian scientists discover Sun 'cooling'

THE Earth is heading towards another ice age as solar magnetic activity is set to drop by up to 60 per cent in the next 15 years.

Experts say that solar activity as low as it currently is has not been seen since the mini-ice age that took place between 1645 and 1715 – a period known as the Maunder Munimum where the entire Thames froze over.

A new model has allowed experts to predict solar activity with more accuracy than ever before and it suggests that magnetic activity will fall by 60 per cent between 2030 and 2040.

Another Statewide Blackout: South Australia’s Wind Power Disaster Continues

Thanks to its ludicrous attempt to run on sunshine and breezes, South Australia has just experienced yet another Statewide blackout. SA’s vapid Premier, Jay Weatherill and what passes for media in this Country ran straight to the periphery, blaming everything except the bleeding obvious (see this piece of infantile doodling from wind cult central – the ABC).

STT’s SA operatives tell us the blackout occurred during a blustery spring storm (heavy rain, lightning and surging, gusty wind). The power supply went down across the entire State at precisely the same time (a little after 3:30pm). It took more than 5 hours to restore power to a few parts of the State, and many regions remained powerless for much longer than that.

We didn't quite pull the trigger on making snow expecting the window of opportunity was just a little too small. A good sign none the less. Moisture on the hill and temperatures starting to be consistently colder ---- I like it.

The Air Was So Acidic It Would Pit Windsheilds & Disintegrate Women's Pantyhose

Gary Pittman worked for Occidental Chemical Corporation for 21 years in the phosphate mining industry, working his way up to the position of Mining Supervisor. Using his expertise and years of experience Gary gives the listener a detailed yet easy to understand lesson concerning some of the health dangers faced by people who work in the phosphate mining industry, by the people who live near one of these operations, and the pollution spewed forth into the biosphere we all call home. In this case he discusses how acidic the air around a phosphoric acid plant is (which are onsite at these mining operations), and what it did to windshield glass and female workers pantyhose who were exposed to it.

Climate Alarmist Professors: Vote Hillary or the Planet Will Fry!

Hundreds of members of the US National Academy of Sciences have signed an open letter in support of Hillary because global warming.

The signatories – 375 in all – don’t actually mention Donald Trump by name. But it’s pretty clear that that’s whom they’re getting at when they deliver their hectoring screed about certain candidates during the Presidential primary campaign who claimed “that the Earth is not warming, or that warming is due to purely natural causes outside of human control.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Let me preface this by saying I come from a science background myself, but all too often science gets hijacked and distorted for political or economic gain, or simply makes goofs which are perpetuated by arrogance!

Why should we not just blindly trust science?

Alchemy, for one.

Phlogiston Chemistry, for another.

Prior to the 14th Century Astronomers thought the Earth was the center of the universe, because, well, that's what the church wanted, and spent hundreds of years of scientific research on the theory of Epicycles, trying to reconcile the Earth centered model with the observed motions of the planets. Epicycles hold the record for longest running scientific goof in history!

17th Century doctors thought rubbing chicken dung into your scalp would cure baldness! They also thought leeches sucked disease out of patients.

18th Century Geologists thought the Earth was 6000 years old, because, well, that's what the church wanted!

Prior to the 1950s, scientists thought proteins carried our heredity.

Until the 19th Century, doctors thought infection was caused by bad air, from which we get the term "Malaria."

Scientists claimed cigarettes were good for you up until the 1950s. They even had a machine to pump tobacco smoke into your anus; the origin of the phrase "blowing smoke up your a**!"

In 1948, the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine went to the discovery of DDT. A few years later it had almost collapsed the food chain.

In 1949, the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine went to the discovery of the "therapeutic value" of lobotomy! Patients had their brains butchered by having what was essentially an ice pick shoved up their nose into their brains!

Until 2005, doctors thought ulcers were caused by stress.

National Geographic ran an article in 2015 whining why people don't believe science. But science is not about belief but about facts! And National Geographic should not be questioning why people do not trust science after its own 1999 "Piltdown Chicken" scandal!

Science is not perfect. Science does make mistakes. The beauty of science is supposed to be that they admit it, not use the label of "science" like a modern religious icon to push agendas onto people! Anyone who says the "Science is settled" is not being scientific, they are being propagandistic!

Dr. William Thompson blew the whistle that CDC faked their report that claimed no link between the MMR vaccine and autism. Dr. Farid Fata was sentenced to 45 years in federal prison for telling perfectly healthy patients they had cancer in order to sell them radiation and chemotherapy. The lesson to be learned is that just because someone has a "Dr." before their name does not automatically make them a more honest person. Indeed, the very process of obtaining a PhD amounts to convincing the academics that you believe just what they believe about whatever field of study you may be in!

And, oh yes, the Old Farmer's Almanac has turned out to be right once again; it is already snowing across the northern hemisphere ... in September. That must be quite a shock to Al Gore's minion, who back in 2000 assured us all that snowfalls are a thing of the past (UK Independent, March 20, 2000)

Arctic Expert on Sea Ice: We Could "Reach Zero" Within Two Years

When it comes to anthropogenic climate disruption (ACD), the Arctic is the proverbial canary in the coalmine. And if Arctic sea ice expert Dr. Peter Wadhams is right, that canary will likely be gone within two years.

Webmaster's Commentary:

There are many conspiracy theories about 9/11. The US government’s own expanation of 9/11 is a conspiracy theory in which a few Saudi Arabians outwitted the American national security state. Svensmark: The Cloud Mystery

Webmaster's Commentary:

The short version is, during periods of low solar activity, more cosmic rays reach into Earth's lower atmosphere and stimulate cloud formation. Clouds reflect more sunlight back out into space, accelerating the cooling. CERN actually confirmed this with an experiment, but deleted the implications for climate change from the final report.

Four Studies Find ‘No Observable Sea-Level Effect’ From Man-Made Global Warming

Ten years after former Vice President Al Gore warned in his 2006 Oscar-winning film, An Inconvenient Truth, that if nothing was done to stop man-made global warming, melting Antarctic and Greenland ice sheets could raise sea levels by up to 20 feet, four peer-reviewed scientific studies found “no observable sea-level effect of anthropogenic global warming.”

“It is widely assumed that sea levels have been rising in recent decades largely in response to anthropogenic global warming,” Kenneth Richard writes at NoTricksZone. “However, due to the inherently large contribution of natural oscillatory influences on sea level fluctuations, this assumption lacks substantiation...

'Climate change is racist': Black Lives Matter protesters storm the runway at London City Airport after reaching the tarmac in a DINGHY - bringing flights to a standstill

London City Airport was brought to a standstill by Black Lives Matter demonstrators who stormed the runway early this morning to protest against the UK's 'racist climate crisis'.

The mayhem began at 5.40am when nine protesters chained themselves to a tripod in the middle of the tarmac to 'highlight the UK's environmental impact on the lives of black people', cancelling dozens of flights and delaying several more.

The incident triggered huge security concerns amid reports the demonstrators - who witnesses described as 'white and middle class' - managed to get airside by sailing a blow-up dinghy across the Royal Docks.

Biofuels 'worse than petrol' for the environment, new study finds

“Green” biofuels such as ethanol and biodiesel are in fact worse for the environment that petrol, a landmark new study has found.

The alternative energy source has long been praised for being carbon-neutral because the plants it is made from absorb carbon dioxide, which causes global warming, from the atmosphere while they are growing.

But new research in the US has found that the crops used for biofuel absorb only 37 per cent of the CO2 that is later released into the atmosphere when the plants are burnt, meaning the process actually increases the amount of greenhouse gas in the air.

The scientists behind the study have called on governments to rethink their carbon policies in light of the findings.

The use of biofuels is controversial because it means crops and farm space that could otherwise be devoted to food production are in fact used for energy.
