We are avoiding physics of WTC

Because of the difficulty in refuting the solid evidence of explosives inside those three towers, defenders of the "official story" have resorted to ridicule the character of the article's publisher, and those engineers that trust physics over politics.

Why hasn't this been reported in the mainstream media? Perhaps because most are afraid to really look into the physics of 9/11, since fear of the known is sometimes worse then fear of the unknown.

The Pulitzer-winning investigation that dare not be uttered on TV

The New York Times' David Barstow won a richly deserved Pulitzer Prize yesterday for two articles that, despite being featured as major news stories on the front page of The Paper of Record, were completely suppressed by virtually every network and cable news show, which to this day have never informed their viewers about what Barstow uncovered. Here is how the Pulitzer Committee described Barstow's exposés:

Awarded to David Barstow of The New York Times for his tenacious reporting that revealed how some retired generals, working as radio and television analysts, had been co-opted by the Pentagon to make its case for the war in Iraq, and how many of them also had undisclosed ties to companies that benefited from policies they defended.

Users in our security forum have discovered that advertisements delivered via the website have been using popup malware to force-deliver artificial anti-virus malware onto the PCs of unsuspecting visitors (of which Fox has countless millions). One of our more skilled scambusters and "malvertising" gurus has further dissected (with photos) the exact scumware delivery mechanism at work here -- and notes that users don't even need to click on an ad banner at the website in order to get infected. The vsm_free_setup.exe forced download the ads are instituting originates from Russia or the Ukraine, and appears to involve a keylogger.

Instead of Bailing Out Mainstream Newspapers, How About Bailing Out Real Journalists?

Congress is again making noises about bailing out the newspaper industry.

But the mainstream papers - other than a select few, such as McClatchy - were largely cheerleaders for the Iraq war, and covered up (or - as in the case of the New York Times - delayed for a year so the story would not effect elections) crimes like illegal spying on Americans.

Instead of bailing out lapdogs for the government and mouthpieces for the wealthy, how about giving seed money to alternative journalists who actually report the news without pulling punches?

Digital World: What creeps under the Internet rocks

For example, one of the premier internet anti-Semites runs his site (and home business) from the suburbs of Honolulu, Hawaii. This blogger, who claims to know "what really is happening" in the world, is a radical leftist/liberal type, whose site gets a fair amount of traffic, and seems to be a source of material for many other anti-Semitic blogs. Most of his content consists of links to "legitimate" news sites, with his commentary.

Note, incidentally, that I haven't mentioned this person's name, or site; the reason is that Wikipedia recently banned a biography page on this guy, because he's famous only among conspiracy theory nuts. He hasn't been mentioned in the real media enough, and I don't intend to help him (if you want details, drop me an e-mail).

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is the article that the Jerusalem Post wrote in an apparent response to KILLING THE FAMILY OF JESUS, which was posted at the Desert Peace website

I am linking this obvious hit piece here because people asked what all the fuss was about (and because fair is fair; the JP hit piece drove a lot of traffic to WRH and Desert Peace and I am returning the favor). I also wanted to point out that the comments added to this article included many positive comments for Desert Peace and WRH.

U.S. papers shed 5,900 journalists in 2008

American daily newspapers cut 5,900 newsroom jobs in 2008, according to a survey from the American Society of News Editors.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The corporate media will whine and point fingers at the blogs, but the truth is that most political and news blogs would not exist if the media had done their job and reported the truth about what was going on with the government.

WRH would not exist if the corporate media had reported on the evidence I handed them proving that the FBI fraudulently manufactured Lisa Foster's recognition of the gun found with her husband's body. The evidence consisted of the FBI's own records and I handed this story, a story about a possible murder committed inside the White House itself, free of charge to NBC's Los Angeles News department, and was told (off the record) that anyone touching that story would be fired.

That was the reason I started my political web page which eventually became WRH, and frankly, it has been a huge cost and a pain in the ass most of the last 16 years.

But now time has caught up with the corporate media. As the general public comes to understand the extent of the US Government lies and the degree to which the corporate media aided and abetted those lies, people are turning to the blogs to get that which they cannot find at ABCNNBBCBS; the TRUTH!

So the liars are finally getting fired, and who will really mourn their fall?

Not me. I wish they had done their @#%ing job in the first place.

What went wrong?

Secure in their profits, the Globe and other newspapers underestimated the impact of the Web

Webmaster's Commentary:

More whining by the corporate media.

And again, they portray their decline as a victim of the "whiz bang" web technology and avoid the real issue.

The corporate media is in decline because the public knows that when the US Government lied to us all about Saddam's "Nookular" bombs, the corporate media stood right besides the liars and helped them do it.

The corporate media, like the US Government, has lost the trust of the people, and it is not likely to come back any time soon. Trust takes decades to build, and is lost in an instant.

Look at the USSR for an example. When it became obvious that the government was lying to the people and Pravda and Isvestia were helping them do it, Russians set up a network of FAX machines called the Samizdat, to spread the truth about what was going on on the country. I suppose the Soviet media tried to ban FAX machines the way US Corporate media is trying to ban the internet, but the end result is pretty much the same. Once the people know they are being lied to, you cannot control them any longer and the USSR is gone.

The same fate clearly is in store for the US Government.

And here is the final irony. Had the corporate media actually performed their traditional role of exposing government wrongdoing all along, we would not be in this situation. Look at all the times when the corporate media chose to side with the cover-ups, Vince Foster, JFK Jr. Mena, Saddam's 'nookular' bombs, etc. At any one of those points the media could have done their job, exposed the guilty, caused a scandal, and prevented everything that has happened to the nation in these last few years.

The corporate media could have saved this nation. And they chose not to. For that reason alone they should be driven out of business.

And they dare call us bloggers the traitors!

Google Complains Americans are Stupid - Needs Foreign Engineers to Fill U.S. Tech Jobs

The New York Times Tech Recruiting Clashes With Immigration Rules - Matt Richtel MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. — Where’s Sanjay?

[This is a four page corporate-propaganda article meant to justify bringing in foreign workers to work in Silicon Valley. The article laments in typical jingoist fashion that America is losing its preeminence in technology worldwide because high tech companies cannot hire foreigners at will -to take America's highest paying high tech jobs. The article says in no uncertain terms, that the profitability of these companies should take a higher priority than putting American kids to work, or, -even forcing the American educational system to start to work for American kids.

If I Only Had a Gun

This takes me to the next point. ABC (obviously) makes no mention of how many times every year law-abiding citizens DO use guns effectively to protect themselves. Ask those people (or, ask anyone for that matter) what they’d prefer in a life and death situation: Taking shelter under a desk with a gun or taking shelter under a desk with nothing.

Finally, there is no mention of how many of the fleeing students were struck in the exercise. If none, then clearly the highly-trained shooter used for this farce of a demonstration wasn’t trying to hit any of the others. If some were struck, why weren’t those casualties mentioned? Either way, it demonstrates the dishonesty of the piece.

Big deal.

American media outlets have been pulling off such feats for a long time.

A.P. Seeks to Rein in Sites Using Its Content

They said they did not want to stop the appearance of articles around the Web, but to exercise some control over the practice and to profit from it.

Webmaster's Commentary:

AP stood side by side with the US Government in selling the lies that led to war in Iraq. For that reason I prefer to not link to AP any longer and I am having my software engineer working on a system to go through our database and erase every article that has AP as a source (it's a small percentage as it turns out).

What is going on here is that AP's revenues are drying up because their primary customers, TV news and newspapers, are being abandoned by their audiences, precisely because they were all party to the lies of the US Government.

AP simply wants to co-opt the audiences the blogs have built over the years.

Many times when I link to an AP story it is to point out the lies and deceptions. I cannot imagine that any contracts entered into with AP to license their content will allow such unrestrained critiques.

So in the end, and I am certain most other news aggregator sites will agree with me, the simplest and easiest solution is to simply avoid all AP stories entirely.

After all, we need to move forward into the new and more truthful, not return to the past lies and deceptions.

AP to Aggregators: We Will Sue You

As newspaper continue to founder and fail, the clear benefit of Google especially — to direct hordes of traffic back to the original site — is increasingly blurred by the anger and envy of newspaper executives over Google's ability to monetize aggregation at all while paying nothing towards content creation.

It has become virtually a populist notion among many in the industry that aggregators who scrape a headline and a paragraph are taking something of value, if not outright stealing, and not operating under a fair use exception even if they drive traffic to the source.

"We can no longer stand by and watch others walk off with our work under misguided legal theories," AP Chairman Dean Singleton said at the AP annual meeting in San Diego.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I love the rant about the cost of content creation, when mostly AP just accepts press releases from the White House and corporations and forwards them as news.

Reflections on a Largely Forgotten Book: Herbert Schiller's The Mind Managers (1973)

Dedicated to the notion that "the flow of information in a complex society is a source of unparalleled power," his book was an important early effort to show how corporate thought-controllers" used "mainstream" (corporate) media and other means to conduct "a national communications pageant" (Schiller 1973, p.6) in support of "the state-capitalist [United States] economy" and its vast global and military reach. To a degree that I (perhaps naively) find surprising, his book is missing from the endnotes, indexes, and bibliographies of left media analysts. It disappeared in the bibliographical mist even as it seems to have anticipated numerous critical and important themes in a subsequent and impressive literature of left media and propaganda criticism in the U.S.

Why does the 'Times' only let Arabs criticize Israel?

I have noticed that, almost without exception, the only critics of Israeli policy that are given op-ed space, not only in the NY Times, but elsewhere in the mainstream media, are either Palestinians such as Rashid Khalidi, Saree Makdisi, or George Bisharat, or in the most extreme example, Libyan president Muammar Qaddafi, being given space to promote a one-state solution (an assignment that, quite clearly, was intended to permanently marginalize the idea). It has long been the same with the Times letter section, in which criticism of Israel seems also to be reserved for writers with non-Western names. I know of several people, besides myself, Jewish and non-Jewish, who have attempted, without success, to get letters published in the paper but to no avail and have since given up.

Jewish writer raises a storm in America with his report from a 'tolerant' Iran

The newspaper, and Cohen in particular, has been accused of being too critical of Israel and an apologist for Iran and its leader, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Cohen's column was written from Iran about the country's small Jewish minority. His piece acknowledged the difficulties the group experienced and portrayed them as part of an Iranian society that he said was more tolerant, democratic and sophisticated than many American critics allowed.

Webmaster's Commentary:

"How DARE you describe Iran as it really is, instead of how we wish it to be seen!!!!!!"

U.S. Ranked 36th Freest Press in the World

“The post-9/11 world is now clearly drawn. Destabilized and on the defensive, the leading democracies are gradually eroding the space for freedoms. The economically most powerful dictatorships arrogantly proclaim their authoritarianism, exploiting the international community’s divisions and the ravages of the wars carried out in the name of the fight against terrorism.

Religious and political taboos are taking greater hold by the year in countries that used to be advancing down the road of freedom.”

MSNBC POLL - Give President Obama a grade

Webmaster's Commentary:

In theory there should be a bell curve centered around the most popular choice (as we see above in the WRH version of this poll) , but we do not see that on the MSNBC poll. The curve for the B, C, D, and F at the MSNBC poll is quite similar to what we see in the WRH poll. Only the A is the anomaly. Hence I think "someone" has been tinkering with the results.

New cuts at New York Times and Washington Post

The New York Times reported that its parent company, the Times Co, plans to slash the pay of most employees by five per cent for nine months, in return for 10 days of leave, and to lay off 100 people.

The Washington Post said employees were being offered another round of buyouts, or early retirement packages - the second within a year - in an effort to cut costs.

Shut Down the O'Reilly Harassment Machine

Going after O'Reilly through his corporate sponsors seems like a fitting punitive measure, considering O'Reilly's manic obsession with his imaginary enemy NBC and their parent company GE. O'Reilly even managed to use the Terkel ambush to continue his assault on his network nemesis, which was particularly strange since Terkel has nothing to do with NBC whatsoever. It was even odder when O'Reilly tried desperately on his show to make the connection between Terkel, NBC, GE, and Iran in less than one minute!

Media Calls a Bottom as Credit Market Calls for Panic (Charts)

Much has been made (mostly by the mainstream media) over the recent rally in the Dow Jones Industrial Average. Many of the usual suspects, including those that have been wrong for the past 3 years, have been quick to call a bottom. We, as technicians, tend to pay little attention to CNBC, Fox Business, etc. Opinions have little or no value to us.

The credit market shows a persistent and elevated level of fear. There will be no bull market until the credit fear eases.

Brit Hume and the demented world of Fox News

Respectable, "mainstream", and "serious" American foreign policy differences that are allowed to see the light of day in our media fall into one of two camps.

The first camp believes that anything more than issuing bad faith ultimatums before dropping bombs is appeasement.

The second camp believes the US should spend a little time manufacturing legalisms before commencing our wanton aggressions and also arm twist a few "allies" into blessing our murder campaigns against hapless weakling third world countries on the other side of the globe before hand.

Obama falls into the second camp. To what passes for a "right wing" in this country he is now "appeasing" Iran for sending them a video tape address in which he doesn't threaten to murder them or call them dirty Moooslim scum.

Former WABC radio news anchor George Weber was found murdered inside his Brooklyn apartment today after failing to report to work for two days, sources told The Post.

Weber, who would have turned 58 tomorrow, was discovered in his bed shortly before 10 a.m. inside his Carroll Gardens with multiple stab wounds to his neck after his bosses, concerned that he hadn't shown up for work, called cops.

The Internet Surging as a Major Influence in the Political Landscape

Democracy is only as good as the information that we receive. Our right to vote means very little if we don’t have enough information on which to make an intelligent choice in the voting booth.

That is why corporate monopoly control over much of our national news media, which was greatly facilitated by the Telecommunications Act of 1996, has been so toxic to our democracy.

VIDEO: America's Worst Enemy: The Mainstream Media - An Explanation, A Challenge & A Solution

Regardless of the issue, the one thing standing between your cause and the resolution of your cause is the mainstream media. Today's media are in place to do one thing, create and maintain a false reality. They ensure that the actions of the ruling elite, government included, are kept out of the public conscience.

In this brief video Jesse Richard, Founder of, explains how media deception works and shows you how to see it for yourself. He issues a challenge to the collective body of the establishment media and he provides a realistic and achievable solution to the problem.

Washington Post Shows Its Hand

The Washington Post is apparently losing lots of money and may close in the foreseeable future, barring a deus ex machina intervention by some foreign billionaire such as saved the New York Times. While the decline of newspapers worldwide is regrettable, the Post's troubles are really good news, and bankruptcy would be a richly deserved fate for a rag that has been an enabler of every neocon fantasy for the past 20 years.

Six Jewish Companies Own 96% of the World’s Media

Rise of the Recessionista - A caller into CBC’s Sunday afternoon talk-radio show, Cross-Country Checkup, said that men like Stewart were doing the job the media should have done before the financial meltdown. “This is just like the war in Iraq,” the caller complained. “The media were asleep at the wheel and didn’t do their job.

The answer? “More than you think.” Oh man, this oughta be good.

The Hearst Corp. announced Monday it will publish its last print edition of the Seattle Post-Intelligencer on Tuesday and shift the operation of Seattle's oldest business wholly to the Internet.

So eager to call CNN 'Communist News Network,' Fox fudges name of Latin American leader

But Fox was so eager to tie CNN to communism that they couldn't get the name of Venezeula's leader right when making an unsourced allegation.

A second Fox pundit pointed out that Funes' party, Farabundo Martí National Liberation Front, is liberal and said it was essentially communist. He then declared that FMLN "allegedly" has ties to Caesar Chavez.

Except that Caesar Chavez doesn't lead a party in Latin America. He was a Mexican-American farm worker and labor activist who died in 1993.

It's All Good: Media Reports for Duty as Militarists Plan More Wars

Surely there is no one who still needs to be apprised of the fact that the New York Times is one of the chief organs of the American Empire, operating in a semi-official fashion to disseminate the intentions and wishes of our rulers. The fact that the paper also publishes some excellent reporting -- and can even, on occasion, assume an adversarial stance against one faction of the elite or another -- in no way undermines its essential function in the imperial power structure. After all, Pravda and Izvestia did the same under the Soviets.

Washington Post to cut business section

The Washington Post will stop publishing a business section six days out of the week and move business news to the front section of the paper at a time when finance stories dominate world headlines.

The decision, which the Post's editors explained in a memo obtained by Reuters, means that the paper will save money on newsprint when newspaper advertising revenue is plunging.

'Washington Post' urges dismissal of AIPAC espionage case, asks for counter-argument, and promptly rejects same

The other day the Washington Post editorial page--which I am harping on because it has been on the pro-neocon track at least since declaring that the Iraq war was "essential to American security"-- ran an editorial urging the Justice Department to drop the "misguided" espionage case against former AIPAC staffers Steve Rosen and Keith Weissman.

Jim Cramer admits to manipulating the market.

Webmaster's Commentary:

"We had it down to a science in 1992: my wife would pick stocks that technically looked ready to go up, or she would keep track of merchandise to see what was down to tag ends. She would then generate a list of stocks that could move quickly on good news. Jeff would then go to work calling the companies to try to find anything good we could say about them. I would call the analysts to see I they were hearing anything. When we found a stock that looked ready technically to break out, or where the supply had been mopped up, and Jeff found something positive at the company, and I knew the analyst community didn’t know anything positive, we would load up with call options and common stock and then give the good news to our favorite analysts who liked the stock so they could go do their promotion. That would get the buzz going and we would then be able to liquidate the position into the buzz for a handsome profit." (Confessions of a Street Addict, page 61).
