Limbaugh tells caller who can't afford $6,000 to treat broken wrist: "Well, you shouldn't have broken your wrist"

Webmaster's Commentary:

Such warmth and caring by "Pills."

My first reaction was why does it cost a whole $6000 to treat a broken wrist?

Lesse ...

1. Setting the wrist: $100

2. Bandages, splint, and medical spuulies. $50

3. Staff to fill out mandated Federal Government paperwork. $1250

4. Lawyer: $2000

5. Malpractice insurance to protect from other lawyers: $1000

6. Vigorish for HMO bosses: $1600

Yep, I guess that is what it costs for fix a broken wrist here in America!

"Enough Already" by Cindy Sheehan

One of the things I hear quite often from people from all over the political spectrum is: “Why don’t you just go away, you’ve had your 15 minutes of fame.”

Yes, that’s exactly what I thought as soon as I heard that my son was killed in the US’s illegal and immoral war in Iraq: “this is a perfect opportunity to get my 15 minutes of fame.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Sheehan was useful to Gibson only so long as she could be used to attack Bush. Now that Obama is in the White House, and the wars continue, Sheehan is shunned!

The Reality TV at the End of the World.

I don’t think I’ve ever really seen a reality show except for being in the room on occasion when one of the early prototypes came on MTV. It’s been years since I’ve seen MTV and decades since I’ve seen network TV so it is safe to say I don’t know what’s going on there. I can look at the general state of intelligence and the culture though and get an intuit into the effects. So… I went to a search engine and I searched for, “How many reality shows are on TV?” Right near the top I found this. I don’t think even the hard core Nimrods who watch this stuff would imagine (if they had that facility) there were so many.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Reality shows are cheap. That's why networks love them.

There is a DVD out there called "LOST REALITY" that is a collection of pilot episodes for reality shows that failed to be bought. As stunning as the idea is that there are indeed reality shows so bad that they do not get on TV, this DVD is an eye opener of just how stupid some reality TV show producers can be!

ABC's Charles Gibson to Cindy Sheehan: Thanks for your sacrifice. Now get lost.

In an appearance August 18 on WLS radio in Chicago, ABC News anchor Charles Gibson was asked about anti-war protester Cindy Sheehan's plans to travel to Martha's Vineyard next week, where she will protest the Iraq and Afghanistan wars while President Obama is vacationing there. Gibson, whose newscast and network featured Sheehan when she led anti-war protests outside President Bush's Texas ranch in 2005, answered, "Enough already."

That's a remarkably different stance from the one Gibson took four years ago.

“Nazis”, Here, “Nazis”, There, “Nazis, Nazis”, Everywhere!

So, who are, and who are not the “Nazis”? Do any of these people even know what a Nazi is, or should I say was? Why do people think that they can gain political traction by throwing the word “Nazi” at their opponents?

One would think that we’re still fighting WW II; that instead of acknowledging the end of that conflict more than 60 years ago, the Nazis are alive and well hiding in the closets of the Christian “goyim”.

Flashback: Associated Press Deletes Crucial Portion of Witness Statement

On 12 October 2003, two suicide bombers drove cars packed with explosives toward the Baghdad Hotel. Iraqi and US personnel fired on them, causing them to crash into a concrete barrier, where their cars exploded. Eight people were killed, including the drivers, and 32 were injured.

The Associated Press filed several versions of this story. It often does this to add new details as a story develops or to correct information. But once in a while, the AP makes changes that are suspect. In this case, they gutted some intriguing information from a witness statement.

Flashback: Palin's Joker Exposure. Obama's Communism Gov't Agenda

Palin Charges Against Obama Seem to Move from Socialism to Communism
October 25, 2008 10:53 PM
In Iowa today, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin charged that if Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., wins, he would usher in an era of “government as part of your family, taking care of us, making decisions for us.”
A member of the audience twice yelled “He’s a Socialist!”
But really, in many ways what Palin was describing sounded more Communist.
"See, under a big government agenda, what you thought was yours, your income, your property, your inventory, your investments, really would belong to somebody else, to everybody else,” Palin said. “And it would be shared with everybody else.”

Obama's Healthcare Deception, Communism in Socialistic Disguise

Defining socialism and single-payer health care
By Jerry Mazza
Aug 17, 2009, 00:21
That’s something you should be scared of, not socialism. What is scary in socialism’s varied history is the face of the totalitarian prince of darkness, Joseph Stalin. Stalin subverted this noble idea into a tool for his own absolute, brutal rule over the Russian people. Yet there are socialist economies in Sweden, Britain, Belgium, and around the world that are totally benign and not totalitarian. Stalin was to socialism what Hitler was to Germany, and then some. In fact, socialism is not so much a political idea or system as it is an economic concept, with the prime purpose to level inequities between the rich, the middle class, and the poor. It’s that simple.

What is remarkable is that a society of Journalists, allegedly intending to honestly discuss complex issues, has forfeited their professed dispassionate indifference to the global warming issues in exchange for naked advocacy.

New York Times Doesn't Read Its Own Healthcare Horror Articles

Why Are Internment Camps Being Built?

The Internet is abuzz with news about the construction of internment camps all across America. Of course, "mainstream" media outlets refuse to touch the subject; or if they do, they pooh-pooh the story; they do what Glenn Beck recently did: try to debunk the story as fallacious and impugn people who speak of it as "conspiracy nuts." The fact that the Becks, Hannitys, Limbaughs, and O'Reillys of the media circus refuse to deal with the construction of large numbers of internment camps does not make them disappear, however.

How Big Media Subverted US Democracy with Lies, Smears and Gross Propaganda

Limbaugh's lies and misrepresentations would have been seen to be those of just another run-o-the-mill fringe nut job if the right wing had not succeeded in stealing what had been the publicly owned air waves! They did seize the media as the textbook first step preceding the takeover of legitimate government. The GOP and the complicit Rush Limbaugh conspired to benefit the very, very few --the ever shrinking 1 percent --which as a result of their efforts and others now own more than 95 percent of the rest of us combined, the shrinking number of huge corporate media conglomerates for whom 'public service' is just a quaint sop that over some twenty years, they've done away with completely.

“Manufactured Protests” Myth Starts To Crack

The media created myth that the town hall protests raging across the country are artificially manufactured is starting to crack, as the public takes the press to task for parroting the erroneous talking point that the demonstrations are the work of lobbyists and Republican organizations, and that they are fostered by underlying racism.

A caller to C-Span’s Washington Journal show perfectly clarified the issues we have been highlighting all along, that the protesters are not just Republican “right-wingers,” they aren’t being prodded into action by lobbyists, and the anger is not just directed against Obamacare, but against the entire agenda, and especially against Congress passing legislation thousands of pages long without even reading it.

Behind The Clinton 'Rescue' In North Korea

The capture of two US reporters of Chinese descent, who worked for Al Gore, and their subsequent rescue from North Korea's clutches by former President Bill Clinton was a setup from the beginning. Nothing reported about this story comes close to the real truth. As I covered the story in a prior brief, the initial capture of the reporters on the frozen Yalu River (where no one could prove which side of the China-NK border they were really on) was a predictable tactic used by North Korea to obtain secret concessions from the US. The two women were railroaded into a North Korean court and sentenced to hard labor in one of NK's notorious prison camps. This was done for the shock effect to illicit horror around the world. In reality, they never suffered a day of hard labor.

When the going gets tough, editorial boards turn to John Bolton

If you feel like you have been reading a lot of John Bolton recently, it's because you have. A Nexis search reveals that over the past 12 weeks, John Bolton has been published on the op-ed page of a major American publication nine times.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The reason Bolton has been getting so much "page/web/face time is that John has never met a potential US military conflict he hasn't just loved; particularly when that conflict may well pit the US against any one of Israel's many existential threat, like Iraq, and now... Iran.

Of course, John's never seen a day of warfare up close in his life; he's an attorney whose bio indicates a series of jobs in and around Washington DC.

Most people who have actually seen combat, up close and personal, are generally not so deeply in love with war as the ultimate solution for everything as Bolton appears to be.

The drumbeats for war against Iran are beating faster and faster, with Obama and Gates haven been given their marching orders from Tel Aviv recently in a series of meetings there and in Washington.

Obama has indicated now that Iran has only until the end of September to acquiesce to his demands. After that time frame, we could well see an "October Surprise" in the form of an Israeli-led/US-supported attack against Iran.

Murdoch vows to charge for all online content

However, they resulted in a $3.4bn net loss for the full year, down from net income of $5.4bn a year earlier, reflecting $8.9bn in impairment charges.

The sweeping decision by the owner of titles including The News of the World and The Australian to abandon the practice of giving away news in exchange for attracting a large audience for advertisers could embolden other publishers warily examining paid content models.

"We intend to charge for all our news websites," Mr Murdoch said.

"If we're successful, we'll be followed by all media," he added, predicting "significant revenues" from charging for differentiated news online.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Rupe, ol' boy; the reason you are losing audience and ad revenue has nothing to do with your business model and everything to do with the bias, slant, and deception regularly peddled by your rags as "News."

Pierre Salinger announced to the world on Nov. 8, 1996, that he’d received documents proving that a US Navy missile had accidentally downed [TWA flight 800]. That same day, FBI’s Jim Kallstrom called a press conference. A man raised his hand and asked why the Navy was involved in the recovery and investigation while a possible suspect. “Remove him!” [Kallstrom] yelled. Two men leapt over to the questioner and grabbed him by the arms. There was a momentary chill in the air after the guy had been dragged out of the room. Kallstrom and entourage acted as if nothing had happened. [Kallstrom was later hired by CBS.]

One has to wonder why people never learn from the lessons of history. Why is it that the rulers and enforcers of laws turn a blind eye to the atrociousness and retributions leveled upon them from days past, justified by the brutality of power madness currently sweeping the landscape? Do they think they are going to continue along this destructive path and not suffer the consequences when history repeatedly proves otherwise? Are they that stupid to believe they can treat people like herds of stock and not get gored?

Obama Is No Sell-Out:
Just The Empire's LatestPuppet
by Larry Pinkey
July 30, 2009 Issue 335
While the continuing enormous loss of jobs and other forms of economic disenfranchisement of everyday people of all colors increases in this land by leaps and bounds, so does racism, hypocrisy, and corporate greed under this Obama presidency. Why Obama should make George W. Bush his Mideast envoy.

It's a full-court press on the Israelis, and the American wish list is long. They want Israel to stop expanding settlements; to stop building Jewish neighborhoods in East Jerusalem; and for hawks in the government to chill out while the U.S. is negotiating with Iran. And yet, odds are, they'll come back to Washington empty-handed, for reasons having to do as much with atmospherics as policy: Team Obama just doesn't have Israel's full trust.

But there is someone who does—someone who could use a job, someone who argued straightforwardly for a Palestinian state, and yet someone who has the implicit admiration and regard of Israel. President Obama needs a new envoy to the region who can get results—and George W. Bush is his man.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Are these people out of their minds? Bush got along with Israel because he simply gave them whatever they wanted, including thousands of American lives to smash up Iraq and full protection on 9-11.

If Bush makes the same requests of Israel as Obama is, Israel will treat him just as disdainfully.

MSNBC Implies People Skeptical Of Government Are Psychologically Insane

During a discussion of the Obama birth certificate controversy, MSNBC host Chris Matthews and his guests implied that anyone who questions the official 9/11 story, thinks the Bilderberg group are exercising power to create a world government, people who are worried about gun control and immigration, or even people who are merely skeptical of government, are psychologically insane.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This tells us that the Obama birth certificate story is being used as a straw man to "poison the well" of public discussion about the government.
The media are going to fan this issue up, then Obama will show his real birth certificate, and the corporate media will use that to attack discussions about 9-11, Israel, the validity of the wars, torture, etc.

President Obama created a national media firestorm by commenting on the arrest, saying the cops "acted stupidly" and that the U.S. has a "long history" of "African-Americans and Latinos being stopped by law enforcement disproportionately, and that's just a fact."
It's that old liberal stereotype once again - bigoted white cops picking on poor, innocent blacks, just like Selma, Ala. in 1963. Really?
The truth is quite the opposite: minority suspects are likely to kill or injure white officers at a rate much higher than the minority component of the overall population.

Revisiting The Horrors Of The Holocaust

Webmaster's Commentary:

CBS proves that it is stuck living in the past and is irrelevant for the the 21st Century.

That being said, does it make sense to anyone that the Germans would keep such meticulous records of the health of the inmates at the slave labor camps if they intended to simply exterminate them all?

[The] American business community was also very impressed with the propaganda effort. They had a problem at that time. The country was becoming formally more democratic. A lot more people were able to vote and that sort of thing. The country was becoming wealthier and more people could participate and a lot of new immigrants were coming in, and so on.

AP plans ‘registry’ to track, license online news content

The US news agency the Associated Press, in a move aimed at protecting its content online, announced on Thursday it was building a “news registry” that would track the use of its stories on the Web.

The New York-based AP, a cooperative owned by more than 1,400 US newspapers, said that the news registry will “tag and track all AP content online to assure compliance with terms of use.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Okay, so we all have to stop linking to (and driving traffic to) AP stories.

Walter Cronkite: Definitional Journalist Saw Big Media's Flaws

The former CBS anchorman cared not just about the next story but about the future of reporting in a country where was known for the better part of a half century as "the most trusted name in news."

So it should come as little surprise that what worried Cronkite in the last years of his life was the collapse of journalistic quality and responsibility that came with the increasing dominance of newsgathering by a handful of media corporations.

"I think it is absolutely essential in a democracy to have competition in the media, a lot of competition, and we seem to be moving away from that," Cronkite told me the last time we spoke about media issues.

Jul 19 09:32

Celebrating Cronkite while ignoring what he did

Cronkite's best moment was when he did exactly that which the modern journalist today insists they must not ever do -- directly contradict claims from government and military officials and suggest that such claims should not be believed. These days, our leading media outlets won't even use words that are disapproved of by the Government.

Basically, the rule on freedom of speech in America is this; you are free to say anything you want, provided you don't attract too many listeners, because once you do, the regime will deem you a threat, and you will be attacked by the press as a racist extremist lunatic, afterward, Jewish hate mongers will organize their usual groups of anarchists, liberals, communists, etc and protest at your home and place of work - complete with bottle and brick throwing, not to mention balloons filled with urine.

Iconic Capa war photo was staged: newspaper

A Spanish Civil War photo by Robert Capa that shows a Republican soldier at the apparent moment he was fatally hit in the back by a bullet was in fact staged, a Spanish newspaper claimed on Friday.

"Capa photographed his soldier at a location where there was no fighting," wrote Barcelona-based newspaper El Periodico which carried out a study of the photograph taken in September 1936, the third month of the war.

The so-called "falling soldier" photo was not taken near Cerro Muriano in the southern Andalusia region, as has long been claimed, but about 50 kilometres (30 miles) away near the town of Espejo, the newspaper said.

Big broadcaster Sinclair in dire straits

Another big broadcaster may be on the verge of bankruptcy.

JoblogoBaltimore-based Sinclair Broadcast Group Inc., which is controlled by David Smith and his family and operates 58 television stations, said if it can't restructure its heavy debt load it will have to file for bankruptcy. The company, which has about $1.3 billion in debt, is trying to negotiate terms on notes of $500 million that are coming due in the next 18 months.

If Sinclair files for bankruptcy it will be bad news for Hollywood, which counts on the broadcaster to spend heavily on programming for its stations. With 58 stations to program, Sinclair is one of the biggest buyers of reruns, movies, talk shows and game shows.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Iran could have atomic bomb within 6 months – report

Germany’s BND foreign intelligence agency believes Iran is capable of producing and testing an atomic bomb within six months, much sooner than most analysts estimate, according to a report in German weekly Stern.

The report, which quotes BND experts, says the agency has information supporting the view that Iran has mastered the enrichment technology necessary to make a bomb and has enough centrifuges to make weaponised uranium.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Needless to say, the BND has already denied making any such comments. This is just another case of Israeli and US propagandists in the media, in this case Reuter's, simply making stuff up.

And then they wonder why they are losing audience to the blogs.

'The Select Few' Are Cashing in: Shocking Corruption at the Washington Post

If you want to know what really matters in Washington, don't go to Capitol Hill for one of those hearings, or pay attention to those staged White House "town meetings." They're just for show. What really happens -- the serious business of Washington -- happens in the shadows, out of sight, off the record. Only occasionally -- and usually only because someone high up stumbles -- do we get a glimpse of just how pervasive the corruption has become.

Case in point: Katharine Weymouth, the publisher of The Washington Post -- one of the most powerful people in DC -- invited top officials from the White House, the Cabinet and Congress to her home for an intimate, off-the-record dinner to discuss health care reform with some of her reporters and editors covering the story.
