National Enquirer Hid Trump Stories in Safe With Other Hush Deals

According to the Associated Press, which made the revelation on Thursday, Pecker had collected the documents over the years by buying the rights to stories and simply not publishing them, a practice known as “catch and kill.” The Trump records were stored alongside other stories about fellow celebrities who had similar deals with Pecker.

Several people with knowledge of the safe told AP that it “was a great source of power for Pecker.”

News of Pecker’s catch and kill practices were first highlighted by the Wall Street Journal in 2016>>>

FLASHBACK - YouTube alters search algorithm over fake Las Vegas conspiracy videos

A “Las Vegas shooting” search on the Google-owned platform led users to numerous videos questioning whether the government was lying about the basic facts of the tragedy and suggesting victims could be “actors”.

On Wednesday, a YouTube spokesperson insisted the site was highlighting reputable videos and said conspiracy videos the Guardian discovered on its search page did not violate its standards. But less than 24 hours later the company altered its position, implementing changes to its platform in a direct effort to better promote reputable sources.

Washington Post caught in news cover-up, refuses to report on horrific work conditions of Amazon warehouse workers

Understandably, the mainstream media has been tough on Bezos and on Amazon as a company, with one glaring omission: The Washington Post, which since 1877 has prided itself on shining a light on wrongdoing, has been ominously quiet when it comes to speaking out about the awful working conditions at Amazon. And that is hardly surprising, considering the fact that the paper was purchased by Bezos in 2013 for $250 million.

Russia: No talks with US on Iran's Exit from Syria

Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov underlined that Moscow has held no talks with Washington on Iran's presence or exit from Syria.

We have never discussed Iran’s withdrawal from Syria with the US," Peskov told reporters on Tuesday.

Peskov's remarks came in reaction to the recent claims by US National Security Adviser John Bolton who claimed that "the US, Israel and Russia have common interests in minimizing Iran’s influence in Syria and Putin and Trump have reached agreements in this respect".

In relevant remarks on mid-August, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that Moscow sees intentions of the US and the West in general to impede the Astana process for the Syrian settlement.

"We won’t probably see any direct linkage with the Syrian crisis in the statements made by the US side when it declares sanctions against our countries>>>

Memo reveals Soros-funded social-media censorship plan Plotted with Google, Facebook to eliminate 'right wing propaganda'

A confidential, 49-page memo for defeating Trump by working with the major social-media platforms to eliminate “right wing propaganda and fake news” was presented in January 2017 by Media Matters founder David Brock at a retreat in Florida with about 100 donors, the Washington Free Beacon reported at the time.

On Monday, the Gateway Pundit blog noted the memo’s relationship with recent moves by Silicon Valley tech giants to “shadow ban” conservative political candidates and pundits and remove content.

The Free Beacon obtained a copy of the memo, “Democracy Matters: Strategic Plan for Action,” by attending the retreat.

Nothing is as permanent as we imagine--especially super-complex, super-costly, super-asymmetric and super-debt-dependent systems.

Check which signs of Imperial decline you see around you: The hubris of an increasingly incestuous and out-of-touch leadership; dismaying extremes of wealth inequality; self-serving, avaricious Elites; rising dependency of the lower classes on free Bread and Circuses provided by a government careening toward insolvency due to stagnating tax revenues and vast over-reach--let's stop there to catch our breath. Check, check, check and check.

Sir John Glubb listed a few others in his seminal essay on the end of empires The Fate of Empires, what might be called the dynamics of decadence:

(a) A growing love of money as an end in itself: Check.

(b) A lengthy period of wealth and ease, which makes people complacent. They lose their edge; they forget the traits (confidence, energy, hard work) that built their civilization: Check.

Mike Huckabee Reveals He Has Been Targeted by Facebook – ‘They Will Rue the Day’

As a number of conservatives and Republicans, including President Donald Trump, allege, political bias among the top tech companies, several individuals are sharing anecdotes they believe help prove their larger claim.

In a recent Fox Business Network interview, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee said he had experienced adverse impact from Facebook and its algorithms based on what he believes is the conservative content he posts to his page.

“I’ve been subjected to some of Facebook’s censorship, if you would call it that,” he said. “It’s not technically censorship since they’re not a government. But they almost act like a monopolistic government entity.”

Slow Death: CNN Dropped Below “Pawn Stars” Channel in Ratings

By now it has become predictable old news to hear that Fox News Channel defeated their cable news rivals CNN and MSNBC in the weekly ratings, as they have finished number one out of the big three in total average viewers per day for 31 consecutive weeks, according to Adweek.

Nor is it a surprise to hear that Fox beat their rivals in prime time viewership either, as they have done so for 11 consecutive weeks now.

What is somewhat surprising, and incredibly laughable, is that CNN — the formerly vaunted crown jewel of the establishment media — has sunk so low in the ratings that they are losing out to other basic cable networks in terms of prime time viewers, networks with decidedly less important topics to air than the serious news of the day.

First They Came for Alex Jones

This past week, the nation’s newspapers took collective umbrage at being called “the enemy of the people” by President Trump.

“That is what Nazis called Jews,” gasped the editors of the Kansas City Star. “A form even appeared in Nazi Germany, when Jewish people were called an ‘enemy of the state,’” fretted the editors of the Topeka Capital-Journal.

These being the only two editorials I read, I have to imagine that many more of the roughly 400 protesting newsrooms engaged in some variation on the reductio ad Hitlerum theme. Even if all 400 did, no halfway sentient adult can take this self-indulgence seriously.

Here is why. Since President Trump’s election, every major magazine, every major social media outlet, every major newspaper, just about all of Hollywood and Broadway, and every major TV network save for Fox News have conspired to destroy the president.

The big tech companies are now openly censoring popular viewpoints and deleting select social media pages who supposedly ‘violate community guidelines.’

There is, of course, never a detailed explanation of why companies like You Tube and Facebook delete user generated pages (our You Tube page was deleted in 2017 for no apparent reason and our Facebook page has been throttled down to almost no reach), and there is never a reasonable way to appeal for the reinstitution of these pages.

The end result of this type of censorship, however, quite likely will not bring about the feared Soviet style clampdown on ideas that challenge the establishment. It’s more reasonable to expect that these companies have fallen pray to monopolistic hubris and will soon see massive declines in viewership, collapsing stock prices and the revolt of angry shareholders. In other words, these companies are shooting themselves in the feet.

Ongoing Purge Of Dissenting Voices Almost Claims Another Victim

Since Julian Assange was gagged earlier this year, state-sponsored censorship has attempted to snuff out the light of independent and alternative media voices from across the political spectrum. In the first half of August, this process appeared to escalate drastically. As Disobedient Media reported earlier this week, outlets from Infowars to Telesur have faced the wrath of technocratic social media giants.

The escalation of establishment censorship has been stunning. Just last week, former State Department official and whistleblower Peter Van Buren's Twitter account was suspended under dubious circumstances. Consortium News wrote of his suspension:

Webmaster's Commentary:

Who are the corporate presstitutes other than "pushers" of the US Deep State agenda, which is generally a narrative preparatory to justifying some new war?!?

Van Buren simply stated the obvious, with his challenge, and was summarily punished for it.

And the reason for the timing of this purging has to be to subvert and silence as many anti-war independent voices as possible, in preparation for the coming war against Iran.

US govt doesn’t think people have intelligence to decipher news, hence censorship – Keiser

“The 60s were probably the apotheosis of the well-informed, educated media savvy American. But since that time... now you have the government saying that nobody in America has the intelligence to decipher what’s right, wrong, accurate, not accurate, fake news, propaganda, real news...”

Keiser also speaks to Max Blumenthal about the current climate of censorship, particularly regarding Facebook.

“Facebook has hired a group called DFRLab, which operates out of the NATO and arms industry-funded Atlantic Council, also founded by Saudi Arabia and a bunch of pro-freedom advocates in the Gulf – including Turkey, which arrests more journalists than any other country,” Blumenthal said.

That firm’s job, Blumenthal explained, is to “market Facebook’s findings and takedowns of these pages, and to justify it they put out a report on, justifying taking down these pages which were said to be Russian, they tried to link them to Russia without coming up with conclusive proof...”

Paul Craig Roberts: The CIA Owns The US & European Media

When I received my briefing as staff associate, House Defense Appropriations Subcommittee, which required top secret clearance, I was told by senior members of the staff that the Washington Post was a CIA asset. Watching the Washington Post’s takedown of President Richard Nixon with the orchestrated Watergate story, that became obvious. President Nixon had made too many overtures to the Soviets and too many arms limitations agreements, and he opened to China. Watching President Nixon’s peace initiatives water down the threat level from the Soviet Union and Maoist China, the military/security complex saw a threat to its budget and power and decided that Nixon had to go. The assassination of President John F. Kennedy had resulted in far too much skepticism about the Warren Commission Report, so the CIA decided to use the Washington Post to get rid of Nixon.

Hodge tries to gag BBC

Controversial Children's Minister Margaret Hodge today launched an extraordinary bid to stop the BBC reporting fresh allegations of abuse at an Islington children's home.

She labelled a former abuse victim, Demetrious Panton, an "extremely disturbed person" in an astonishing attack on his testimony. Mrs Hodge sent a letter to BBC chairman Gavyn Davies, copied to director-general Greg Dyke, accusing Radio 4's Today programme of "deplorable sensationalism" and "scant balance". The minister claimed Today reporter Angus Stickler was motivated by trying to connect her to the case in her role as leader of Islington council in the 1980s.

She called on Mr Davies to investigate personally and added: "If the position is that a news item is being developed with the intention of connecting a government minister to the story for the sake of sensationalism then I think it is deplorable."

The American Empire and its Media

Largely unbeknownst to the general public, executives and top journalists of almost all major US news outlets have long been members of the influential Council on Foreign Relations (CFR).

Established in 1921 as a private, bipartisan organization to “awaken America to its worldwide responsibilities”, the CFR and its close to 5000 elite members have for decades shaped U.S. foreign policy and public discourse about it. As a well-known Council member famously explained, they transformed the American republic into a global empire, albeit a “benevolent” one.
