POMPEO ISSUES HISTORIC POLICY REVERSAL: ISRAELI WEST BANK SETTLEMENTS 'NOT ILLEGAL'

SOURCE: ZERO HEDGE
In a major, if entirely expected, complete reversal of Obama-era policy on the Middle East, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced Monday the Trump administration is reversing the official US stance on the illegality of Israeli settlements in the West Bank.

“After carefully studying all sides of the legal debate, this administration agrees with President Reagan,” Pompeo said in reference to Reagan’s view that settlements were not inherently illegal. “The establishment of Israeli civilian settlements in the West Bank is not per se inconsistent with international law,” Pompeo said.

“The Trump administration is reversing the Obama administration’s approach towards Israeli settlements. U.S. public statements on settlement activities in the West Bank have been inconsistent over decades.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Secretary of State Pompeo, are you flipping kidding me?!?

By this "logic", you have started down the "slippery, bloody slope" which will soon necessitate your supporting the following:

1. " Palestine never existed."
2. "All Palestinians who protest peacefully should be shot on sight, including infants and toddlers."
3. Palestinian children should be indefinitely jailed, and if necessary, tortured for "information" on the adults in their family and neighborhood who have said, or done anything, which was anti-Israel in nature, and forced to sign confessions in a language they can neither read, write, nor speak (Hebrew).

As you are well aware, all of these practices have been painstakingly documented to exist.

Also, as you are well aware, the way in which these settlements have been engineered, translates as to a total impossibility for there to be a contiguous Palestinian state, as documented by the following article in January of this year, from the Foundation for Middle East Peace:: Settlement Report: January 11, 2019

The article goes on to state: "Israeli officials have argued that the now-open road should resolve international objections to building the E-1 settlement, since it preserves “transportational continuity” by providing a route for Palestinians to travel between between the northern and southern parts of the West Bank, as a substitute for territorial contiguity of a future Palestinian state).

When construction on the road resumed in 2017 after being stalled for a long period, Peace Now explained:

“If the road will be completed…Israel will be able to argue that Israeli construction in the area does not separate the West Bank because there is a transportation route for Palestinians. This argument, of course, is baseless because a thin line of road that connects separated territorial sections (creating ‘transportational continuity’) does not meet the need for the territorial contiguity essential for the development of East Jerusalem and the Palestinian metropolis. Without these territories, a viable independent Palestinian state cannot be built and prosper, and this could mean the death of the two-state solution.”

Secretary of State Pompeo, I very politely, and gently, urge you to step back from this precipice where you are taking the world, sir; and that precipice is a world war, the outcome of which cannot be pre-determined, and may destroy life on earth as we have known it.

JOE BIDEN IS OUT HERE CALLING CANNABIS A 'GATEWAY DRUG’ IN 2019

Joe Biden’s bold experiment in trying to win the Democratic presidential nomination without a single vote from a young person continued Saturday, when the 76-year-old frontrunner told a crowd in Las Vegas that he doesn’t want to legalize weed because he’s worried that it might lead to harder drugs. Here’s what the former vice president said, according to Business Insider:

"The truth of the matter is, there’s not nearly been enough evidence that has been acquired as to whether or not it is a gateway drug," Biden said. "It’s a debate, and I want a lot more before I legalize it nationally. I want to make sure we know a lot more about the science behind it."

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am shaking my head at this; does the man have absolutely zero science advisors to assist him in making his statements regarding scientific evidence on marijuana, before he opens his mouth in public?!?

VA RELEASED MILLIONS OF PEOPLE’S PERSONAL DATA DESPITE KNOWN RISKS

The Veterans Affairs Department knowingly disclosed sensitive information on millions of veterans’ doctors, spouses and dependents despite warnings that the practice “could cause those individuals significant harm,” an internal watchdog found.

For more than three years, the Veterans Benefits Administration intentionally stopped redacting names, Social Security numbers and other personally identifiable information on third-party individuals in claims records provided to veterans, according to the VA Inspector General. The practice not only left countless people vulnerable to identity theft but it also potentially broke the law, auditors found.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am having a palm to forehead moment, at warp speed, upon reading this; it appears that, when it comers to divulging data in this way, what the US has, right now, is an ANTI-VETERANS AFFAIRS DEPARTMENT.

Don't get me wrong; I still abhor the concept of war, as the "only way possible" to get what the US government wants as its geostrategic goal.
But that being said, every single Vet in this country deserves both the finest medical care possible, and the most bullet-proof handling of their data, period, end of discussion.

US Dirty Hands Behind Violent Protests in Iran?

All sovereign independent countries not subservient to US interests are on its target list for regime change — by preemptive wars, color revolutions, old-fashioned coups, targeted assassinations, economic terrorism, and/or other hostile actions.

Color revolutions are a US specialty. So-called spontaneous uprisings are well-planned in advance by the CIA, the undemocratic National Endowment for Democracy, and other US agencies.

A color revolution was first used to oust Serbia’s Slobodan Milosevic in 2000. Opposition elements were recruited and trained by the US for what played out.

Will Bolivia’s partnership with China in lithium mining come to an end with Morales’s overthrow? It is very likely. But the larger trend towards change in Latin America and the Caribbean in which Morales’s contribution was pivotal will continue. Opposition to the military backed coup in Bolivia is strong and sustained.

Act.IL is a global pro-Israel campaign at least partially funded by the country’s government. The project includes an app that enables users to earn points and prizes for promoting the state of Israel online, by attacking BDS and other pro-Palestinian movements. According to Electronic Intifada reporting from earlier this year, it’s operating with a budget of a more than a million dollars.

WhatsApp blocks hundreds of Palestinian journalists’ accounts

WhatsApp yesterday blocked access to hundreds of Palestinian journalists and activists who were providing live updates during the Israeli offensive on Gaza, Safa news agency reported.

This came less than 24 hours after the end of the two-day Israeli offensive which resulted in the death of 34 Palestinians and wounded 111 others.

Palestinian journalists and activists, who were active during the Israeli offensive, reported that their accounts were blocked and they were unable to use them.

US CALLS ON HAFTAR TO END TRIPOLI PUSH, WARNS AGAINST RUSSIA ROLE

The United States has called on Libyan renegade General Khalifa Haftar to stop a months-long offensive on Tripoli and said it would back the country’s internationally recognised government against "Russia’s attempts to exploit the conflict".

The statement was the most explicit call by Washington against the self-styled Libyan National Army of Haftar, who was earlier praised by President Donald Trump.

"The United States calls on the 'Libyan National Army’ to end its offensive on Tripoli," the US State Department said in a joint statement released on Thursday after talks with a delegation from Libya’s Tripoli-based Government of National Accord in Washington.

Libya has been split between rival camps based in Tripoli and the east since 2014, a result of the divisions that surfaced following the NATO-backed overthrow of long-time ruler Muammar Gaddafi three years earlier.

Webmaster's Commentary:

More Russia bashing in Libya, courtesy of the New York Times; and notice, the last paragraph, in which it is stated, that "...the Russian mercenaries were believed to be controlled by an ally of President Vladimir Putin, an allegation denied by Moscow.

PROOF BE DAMNED!! We only want a SUGGESTION that Russia is supporting Haftar, and off the US government is ready to..... go and do what, precisely?!?

Are we going to offer more troops to NATO, with which to fight Haftar's troops, and the so-called Russian mercs, allegedly under Moscow's control?!?

A Decap Strike on Moscow?!?

This is the kind of foreign policy decision one can always expect from the US government, when International Policy becomes driven by dartboard, rather than driven by the best logic and intel possible; and the folks fabricating this policy toward Libya and Haftar, are not even looking at the same bloody dartboard, complicating things even further!!!

US Congress cracks down on ABC News for ‘Epstein coverup,’ demands to know WHO killed the story and WHY

In the wake of an explosive revelation that ABC News allegedly knew the extent of Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes years ago but chose not to report them, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy has demanded answers from the network’s execs.

In his letter to ABC News president James Goldston, McCarthy demanded the names of those involved in the decision not to run the story, as well as their motives. In a video clip leaked earlier this month, ABC News anchor Amy Robach is caught on a “hot mic” speaking to colleagues about the alleged cover-up.

BANNON WANTED ERIC CIARAMELLA KICKED OFF NATIONAL SECURITY COUNCIL AMID CONCERNS OVER LEAKS

SOURCE: ZEROHEDGE
Former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon said in a Friday interview that in 2017, he was involved in an effort to remove alleged whistleblower Eric Ciaramella from the National Security Council over concerns about leaks.
"When I was in the White House there was a number of people in the National Security Council — the named individual eventually got let go, I believe because people were suspicious, not me, but other people around him were suspicious about his leaking, and that’s why he was let go," Bannon told VICE in an interview which published Friday.

Bannon served in the White House until August 2017, while Ciaramella - who became former National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster’s personal aide in June 2017, was called out as a leaker by journalist Mike Cernovich that same month.

The whistleblower, who is reported to be a CIA analyst, filed a complaint on Aug. 12 accusing President Donald Trump of abusing his office in his dealings with Ukraine.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I would politely like to suggest that Republicans force Eric Ciaramella to testify, and get this done before what is left of his staff has prepared a list of countries with which the US has no extradition treaty for him to review.

Because, if not, the guy will most certainly skip town, big-time, if he has the opportunity.

AFTER REMOVING UKRAINIAN PROSECUTOR SHOKIN, OBAMA’S STATE DEPARTMENT PLOTTED WITH WHISTLEBLOWER ERIC CIARAMELLA IN WHITE HOUSE – THEN PUSHED STEELE DOSSIER TO FBI

SOURCE: THE GATEWAY PUNDIT
The Obama Administration coerced the Ukrainian government into removing the prosecutor investigating Ukrainian firm Burisma and its ties to Obama’s Vice President Biden and Secretary of State John Kerry. Next they plotted with whistleblower Eric Ciaramella in the White House and then pushed the Steele dossier to the FBI.

We know that Obama State Department Victoria Nuland was involved in numerous activities in the Obama White House while working for John Kerry. Nuland first was noted when she was caught lying to reporters about Obama’s Benghazi talking points. Nuland then came to light in 2014 when she was caught on tape saying “F**k the EU”.

We also know that Obama’s State and Justice Departments assisted billionaire and Democrat donor George Soros in an attempt to control Ukraine’s oil and gas industry.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Yes, President Obama was supposed to have been our "cool President"; but looking at these allegations, if they are proven true, means that his "WOW factor" just gotten overridden by this "OW! Factor", in terms of plotting to overthrown a duly elected President and Congress.

And now, irony of ironies, the Demoncratic Party has taken the same page from their own failed playbook, to attempt to destroy President Trump.

I would like to politely suggest, that this is doomed to go "just as well" as did the "anointing" of Ukraine's "election" of Poroshenko, who just drove the corruption in this failed nation-state deeper, and faster, than anyone could have anticipated.

US CONGRESS CRACKS DOWN ON ABC NEWS FOR ‘EPSTEIN COVERUP’, DEMANDS TO KNOW WHO KILLED THE STORY AND WHY

SOURCE: RT
In the wake of explosive revelation that ABC News allegedly knew the extent of Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes years ago but chose not to report them, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy has demanded answers from the network’s execs.
In his letter to ABC News president James Goldston, McCarthy demanded the names of those involved in the decision not to run the story, as well as their motives. “I’ve had this interview with Virginia Roberts...we would not put it on the air,” Robach says about the woman who now three years later publicly accuses Epstein of using her as a sex slave, and pimping her out to his powerful friends, including Britain’s Prince Andrew.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Media power always cracks down on any exposure on corruption, because, most generally, very powerful people include some of the most corrupt in their own industries, and frequently government.

And I would strongly caution Minority Leader McCarthy that, unless your life has been virtuously squeaky clean, these people, and will, can come back to haunt you.

Bolivia’s coup: Morales toppled not due to his failures, but due to his success

Questions remain about the circumstances that led to Morales’ ouster, and whether foreign governments played a role in it. But recent history provides reason to suspect that Bolivia’s rich natural resources are part of the answer.
In a near empty room, a Bolivian military official placed the presidential sash over Jeanine Anez Chavez, a senator from the Beni region who didn’t run the country’s recent election. The ardently Christian politician carried a Bible with her into the ceremony, which consolidated the coup d’etat in the Andean country.

No playing around: US Army’s new card decks feature Russian, Chinese & Iranian weapons ‘to learn more about adversaries’

The Russian-made S-400 air defense system – the one that triggers US threats of sanctions for nations if they decide to buy it – can actually help an American soldier to win a battle... in a card game.
The S-400 [or SA-21 Growler in NATO nomenclature] is a joker in a new line of card decks for the US army, an all-mighty card of many faces capable of incinerating an enemy.

The second joker in the Russia-themed deck is the Iskander tactical missile system [SS-26 Stone in NATO nomenclature] with its 9M729 missile that was used by Washington as a pretext for quitting the INF Treaty, despite Russia’s assurances that it did not violate the agreement.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This...does not bode well for peace in this world.

New Legislation Will Throw People In Jail For Disrespecting Cops

Authored by Matt Agorist via TheFreeThoughtProject.com,

In the land of the free, the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution explicitly prohibits the government from abridging the freedom of speech. However, we’ve seen citizens pepper-sprayed, assaulted, and arrested for there acts of free speech, showing just how little law enforcement cares about upholding the oaths they swore to this very Constitution. Now, a new piece of legislation that is quickly passing through the legal process in New York goes one step further.

In a vote this week, lawmakers in the Monroe County Legislature passed a proposal in a 17-10 vote to fine and/or jail a person who annoys, alarms or threatens the personal safety of an officer. The jail sentence is up to one year and the fine is up to $5,000.

According to the legislation, the anti-disrespecting applies to all first responders, not just cops.

Exposing The Brennan Dossier: All About A Prime Mover Of Russiagate

Authored by Aaron Maté via RealClearInvestigations.com,

In the waning days of the Obama administration, the U.S. intelligence community produced a report saying Russian President Vladimir Putin had tried to swing the 2016 election to Donald Trump.

The January 2017 report, called an Intelligence Community Assessment, followed months of leaks to the media that had falsely suggested illicit ties between the Trump campaign and the Kremlin while also revealing that such contacts were the subject of a federal investigation. Its release cast a pall of suspicion over Trump just days before he took office, setting the tone for the unfounded allegations of conspiracy and treason that have engulfed his first term.

What was Brennan's motive? Among the possibilities is hostility within his camp toward Michael Flynn (foreground), Trump's future reform-minded national security adviser.

Lady Emma Arbuthnot, the Westminster chief magistrate enmeshed in a conflict of interest, will no longer be presiding over the extradition proceedings of imprisoned WikiLeaks publisher Julian Assange, said WikiLeaks lawyer Jen Robinson, at an event in Sydney on Friday night .

Webmaster's Commentary:

This may be cold comfort, but those who support Assange understand that this may be a minor miracle in the case; But Assange is going to need many more not to either get assassinated at Belmarsh, or held in captivity in the US, for the rest of his life, after a kangaroo jury convicts him.

China Sails Carrier Strike Group Through Taiwan Straight After US Navy Transited Contested Waters

A Chinese aircraft carrier fleet has sailed through the highly contested waters in the Taiwan Strait on Sunday, just days after a US warship transited the region, reported Reuters.

China's first domestically built aircraft carrier, known as the Type 002, was accompanied by a strike group as it sailed through the waterway from the East China Sea into the strait on Sunday, the Defense Ministry in Taipei said in a statement.

Last Tuesday, the US Navy sent the USS Chancellorsville, a guided-missile cruiser, on a "routine Taiwan Strait transit," the navy said.

As a result of Type 002 and its strike group transiting the strait, Taiwanese military authorities scrambled fighter jets to monitor the continuing situation.

Webmaster's Commentary:

President Trump, a word, please; the last thing we need right now, is a shooting war with China over ANYTHING.

I do not know what the Pentagon Chain of Command is telling you about US capabilities right now, but we do not have the troop strength; we do not have the weaponry; we do not have the money; and we do not have the manufacturing to support a positive outcome to a conventional war against China.

It is sincerely time to get the trade war sorted out, and figure out how the US can work in cooperation with China on a number of fronts, science and technology being a couple of great places with which to start.

A war with China, at this point in time, would be a really, officially horrible thing to contemplate.

Trump Promises Farmers More Aid Amid Plunging Incomes

President Trump tweeted:

Our great Farmers will receive another major round of “cash,” compliments of China Tariffs, prior to Thanksgiving. The smaller farms and farmers will be big beneficiaries. In the meantime, and as you may have noticed, China is starting to buy big again. Japan deal DONE. Enjoy!

One reason behind the continued bailout of US farmers is because the trade war continues to deepen as there is no resolution in ending trade disputes with China.

There's also a significant concern that the first round of bailouts went to large corporate farms and never trickled down to smaller mom-and-pop ones. By late year, farm incomes have plunged, and farm bankruptcies are soaring across the country.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Mr. President, this comes way too little, and way too late to help out those most savagely hit by your trade wars; US farmers are losing money hand over fist; and losing their farms at a record rate in this country.

You may well have done considerable damage to your base for the 2020 elections, and sir, on this; you have no one else but yourself to blame.

As The Daily Caller's Virginia Kruta notes, Davi also referenced the Immigration and Naturalization Act, passed by former President Lyndon B. Johnson and “argued by Teddy Kennedy,” saying that they had promised the law would not encourage further illegal immigration.

“This is what’s happening, it’s pure and simple,” Davi continued.

“What they want to do is change the shape and the ideology of this nation by letting people in that have not been educated in the system. HK Police Given Green Light For 'Lethal Force' As Student 'Rioters' Use Fire Bombs, Arrows

update: The battle over student protester-occupied Polytechnic University grew more violent over the weekend and grabbed headlines Sunday after a police officer was wounded by an arrow and a riot control vehicle attempting to disperse what HK authorities have labelled 'rioters' was set aflame by dozens of Molotov cocktails.

Chinese state media has now labeled the student protesters "terrorists" and has urged police to deploy live fire given the students themselves are in possession of deadly weapons. After a night of mayhem into the early hours of Monday (local time), it appears a violent showdown is imminent, as Reuters reports police now consider 'live fire' an option:

Hong Kong police threatened on Monday (Nov 18) to use live bullets if “rioters” used lethal weapons and committed other acts of violence, after the latest flare up during five months of anti-government protests in the Chinese ruled city.

The Greatest Intellectual Property Theft in History: Operation Paperclip

The plunder of Germany's scientific and industrial knowledge after World War Two.

The initial purpose of what began as Operation Overcast was to plunder Germany of all its scientific and industrial knowledge after World War Two. The plan was to steal documents and working samples, but the depth and breadth of German industrial knowledge proved much too complex to be usefully understood from a simple examination of documents. In spite of the immense trove of scientific, technical, and industrial knowledge confiscated from Germany, the US failed to benefit due to a lack of know-how. It became quickly apparent that the process would require an extensive debriefing of German scientists and technicians to obtain adequate working knowledge of German industrial and scientific theory and processes.

http://www.p38assn.org/Personnel/kelly-johnson.htm

The Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird (so named for its heat-resistant black paint) first flew in 1964, and since that time it has remained the world's fastest aircraft. Tanks in the inner wings and upper fuselage carry the 80,000 pounds of special, superheated fuel.
Few weapon systems have ever entered the military arena with such blinding superiority as did the Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird. No weapon system has ever maintained that same degree of superiority over a period of four decades. Today, the Blackbird is still the fastest, highest-flying, most-effective reconnaissance aircraft in history, even though budgetary considerations have caused it to be withdrawn from active service.

Lead ‘impeachment’ ‘witness’ reports hearsay, former Ambassador reports hurt feelings, both report ZERO CRIMES: is this a show trial, Deep State lies exposed, or dumbing-down Americans?

After secret meetings, Democrat “impeachment hearings” went public with acting Ambassador to Ukraine Bill Taylor reporting that he heard an anonymous staff member say he heard President Trump ask about Ukraine investigating Hunter Biden's $3+ million payments (here, here) from Ukraine after Joe Biden's quid pro quo deliverance of $1,000 million US taxpayer payment to Ukraine for NOT investigating Hunter (excellent Paul Craig Roberts’ analysis, and thorough timeline). This first witness reported zero known crimes committed by President Trump.

Taylor’s testimony is hearsay: generally inadmissible evidence when first-hand witnesses should testify. In addition, Chair for the impeachment hearings had promised first-hand witness testimony and did not deliver, as he did not deliver evidence of Trump-Russia election collusion (much documentation of 2016 “election” in background below).

Amazon’s Ring Doorbells App Leaks Customers’ Wi-Fi Username and Password. Report

oday, Cyberscoop reported a major security vulnerability in Amazon’s Ring doorbell app. Amazon’s Ring doorbells, which have already raised significant privacy and civil liberties concerns, have now been shown to be deeply insecure, exposing users Wi-Fi passwords to hackers.

With this Wi-Fi information, hackers can access customers’ personal home networks. It only gets scarier from there as hackers could use customer’s webcams to spy on them and their children, gain access to their bank accounts, and retrieve personal information necessary for identity theft.

Human rights abuse accusations proliferate in Chile unrest

Father-of-three Alex Nunez was returning from work in October during a military curfew imposed to curb violent protests in Chile’s capital Santiago when, his family say, he was chased by three police officers who beat him badly.

Nunez, a 39-year-old repairman, made it home that night but was rushed to hospital, where he died from his injuries shortly afterwards.

“Only 5% of his brain was working. They couldn’t operate,” his widow Natalia Perez told Reuters at her home in the low-income Santiago area of Maipu.

“He had a brain injury, cerebral edema and fractured skull.”

Police did not respond to a request for comment on the case and Reuters could not independently verify the family’s account.

When innocently walking home becomes an "offence against civil government", something is very, seriously screwed up with that country's moral compass.

Former Massachusetts Governor (and managing director of private equity firm Bain Capital) Deval Patrick has announced that he’s officially entering the race for the Democratic nomination in 2020.

Patrick’s connections to the financial industry will presumably anger left-leaning voters, but his foreign policy record should also rankle progressives. Patrick has a long history of support for Israel and no record to show in terms of supporting Palestinian self-determination. The former governor has led delegations to Israel on numerous occasions. During a 2011 trip, Patrick met Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and informed the press that his visit was one of “collaboration, friendship and steadfast support.”

Massive Protests in Bolivia Condemning Government Takeover

A week of unrest in Bolivia has seen the military take over after one president’s resignation, and a new president declaring herself to be in charge despite not having anywhere near the votes to assume the post. The week ends with large protests.

Thousands are taking to the streets in all of the major cities of Bolivia, criticizing the military coup and demanding the resignation of the interim president. Large numbers of protesters are from the country’s indigenous people, who are condemning the new president as racist for her previous comments that indigenous people don’t belong in the cities.

Anger at interim president Anez was also directed at Bolivian security forces, particularly the police who have been stopping protests in recent days, and who have assisted Anez’s takeover by blocking marches on parliament.

One Bolivian hospital director in Sacaba reported at least five protesters killed and 75 injured. Most casualties are reportedly the result of gunfire

Webmaster's Commentary:

The real trajectory of this coup, will be seen in terms of how securely Anez has control of the military; if she loses that, all bets are off.

US Demands Hafter Forces Stop Trying to Capture Libyan Capital

In what marks a major shift in US policy in Libya, the US State Department issued a statement late Thursday demanding that Gen. Khalifa Hafter and his self-proclaimed Libyan National Army (LNA) stop trying to conquer the capital city of Tripoli.

The US had initially opposed the LNA invasion of Tripoli in April, but following a talking-to from Saudi Arabia and other nations seen as pro-Hafter, President Trump endorsed Hafter and suggested he’s going to play a big role in Libya in the future. This remained the US position up until now.

The change seems to be a function of recent news about Russia backing Hafter, with the State Department accusing Russia of “exploiting the conflict against the will of the Libyan people.”

A former general in the Gadhafi-era military, Hafter later was a CIA asset and participated in several failed coups d’etat. His force has substantial territory in eastern Libya, but has struggled to move deep into Tripoli.

Webmaster's Commentary:

One has to appreciate the irony here; pot...kettle...black, now that Russia is supporting Hafter.

Iraq’s Top Shi’ite Cleric Backs Protests, Says Iraq Will Never Be the Same

In a move that almost certainly will have a major impact on Iraq’s future, the nation’s top religious leader Grand Ayatollah Ali Sistani has publicly endorsed the protesters and is demanding that the ruling elite give in to real reforms.

Sistani rarely interjects in Iraqi politics, which tends to make his rare comments highly influential. After weeks of criticizing violence against the protesters, he is now accusing the government of being “delusional” and thinking they can stall to avoid real reform.

Sistani went on to declare that what comes after the protests “will not be the same as before,” and that the government should recognize that fact. He also praised the protesters for the honorable way they’d sought reform.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Iran muffed it here, and there will be a lot of blowback for its having supported a corrupt, non-functional government.

Saudi Aramco to go Public in December in an Effort to Bring Outside Investors

Gen. David Petraeus, the retired four-star Army general and former head of the CIA, told CNBC on Thursday that Saudi Arabia is “gradually running out of money.”

Petraeus said the Saudi’s need their initial public offering (IPO) of the state-run oil company Aramco, to be successful. In December, the Saudis plan on releasing some shares of Aramco to the public in an effort to attract outside investors.

The IPO is part of Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman’s “Vision 2030,” his effort to diversify Saudi Arabia’s economy and reduce its dependence on oil exports. Petraeus said Saudi Arabia’s budget deficits can be “anywhere from $40 to $60 billion” each year, depending on the price of oil.

When asked about other people’s criticisms of the crown prince, Petraeus said it was in the entire world’s interest to see “Saudi Arabia succeed” and to also see it “moderate” some of its practices.

Webmaster's Commentary:

General Petraeus, a word, please; as long as the Saudi Royal Family runs the kingdom like their own personal fiefdom, and as long as they continue their genocide of Yemen, not to mention assassinating people whose opinions they do not like, Saudi Arabia has no motivation to "moderate" some of its practices.

Constitutional monarchies can, and do work; but unless, and until, this happens here, Saudi Arabia will continue to be a rogue nation, flattering itself into believing that all acts of savagery are acceptible... because it is the Saudi Royal Family doing those acts of savagery.

IF this IPO folds like a really bad souffle, it is possible that the Butcher of Yemen may have to do some real thinking about the money it takes to fund his genocide in Yemen.

Such a bad "financial bounce" from the failure of his IPO may get Saudi and Houthi forces talking about a negotiated settlement to end hostilities, which is what sane people have suggested for years.

Trump Issues Pardons in War Crimes Cases: Pentagon commanders worried moves will undermine military justice

Even with all the wars the US is presently involved in and all the shady activity that goes with that, it’s fairly unusual for the military to get around to charging personnel with war crimes. When they do, however, military commanders try to emphasize the importance, both to show the military doesn’t let everyone get away with everything, and to deter personnel from ignoring the chain of command.

On Friday, however, President Trump knocked out three of those war crimes cases with full pardons. The White House statement said they wanted to give US soldiers the “confidence to fight.”

I find myself very uncomfortable with President Trump's decision here, and recommend an op/ed from thehill.com this morning;

Series Of Blasts Target Mass Protest Gathering In Baghdad, Multiple Dead & Wounded

A series of explosions ripped through central Baghdad on Friday night, and appeared to target protests which have raged since early October, killing at least three people. Some unconfirmed reports have cited four dead and a dozen wounded in a developing situation where the casualty toll is expected to climb.

The final in a string of blasts was identified according to early reports and video as a car bomb in Tahrir Square, which did the worst damage, killing and wounding multiple protesters.

Second explosion in Baghdad. Minutes earlier at least 4 killed and 11 heavily wounded by a car bomb #Iraqpic.twitter.com/dQNNHeSeux

— hocmountain ? (@hocmountain) November 15, 2019

"A large number of people injured by the booby-trapped car bomb were taken by the drivers of the Tek-Tik wheels to hospitals near Tahrir," a source told Arabic media. Another blast was reported in nearby Tayaran Square as well, which may have also resulted in casualties.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It is obvious that neither the Iraqi government or military are in control; so cui bono?!? Who benefits?!?

Not Muktada Al Sadr; his majority in Iraq's Parliament is now seen as part of the problem.

Perhaps US elements who have rejected the Iraqi's desire for the US to be completely out of the country?!? It is hard to say with certainty.

259 areas of UK struggle to get hold of their money because ALL the local ATMs have been closed

Hundreds of communities have little or no access to a ‘hole in the wall’ cash machine, creating hardship for thousands, say researchers.

People living in 259 postcode areas across the UK struggle to get hold of bank notes to carry out simple tasks such as buying a pint of milk or paying a bus fare, they found.

And the situation is set to get worse as Britain sleepwalks towards a cashless society.

Consumer group Which? said ATMs were closing at a rate of 578 a month in the first half of this year. This is creating a ‘cash desert’, which makes life particularly difficult for the elderly, who prefer to use cash, and small businesses.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Were these ATMS closed because of theft or robbery problems, or was someone signing off on orders to close these ATMs who was unable to think the entire scenario to its logical conclusion.

Over 50,000 people move from Ukraine to Crimea after its reunification with Russia

SIMFEROPOL, November 13. /TASS/. Crimea has received about 170,000 people, including 50,000 from Ukraine, after the peninsula’s reunification with Russia, Crimean Parliament Speaker Vladimir Konstantinov said on Wednesday.

"About 170,000 people have come to Crimea for permanent residence over the past five years. Of these, more than 50,000 [people] came from Ukraine. As many as 7,000 left Crimea for Ukraine, while 80,000 moved to Russia’s regions," he said at a meeting with a delegation of foreign journalists.

Konstantinov did not specify what citizenship people coming to Crimea from Ukraine had.

A delegation of foreign journalists from the European Union, Africa and Asia is paying a familiarization visit to Crimea on November 12-14. It is comprised of delegates from Italy, Slovakia, France, the Republic of Congo, Vietnam, Kenya, South Africa, India, Portugal and other countries.

HOW SURVEILLANCE AND PROPAGANDA WORK IN ‘THE FREE WORLD’

Authored by Brian Cloughley via The Strategic Culture Foundation

A Bloomberg report of October 22 was concise and uncompromising in declaring Russia to be a surveillance state. Harking back to the good old days of the Cold War, as is increasingly the practice in much of the Western media, Bloomberg recounted that “The fourth of 10 basic rules Western spies followed when trying to infiltrate Russia’s capital during the Cold War — don’t look back because you’re never alone — is more apt than ever. Only these days it’s not just foreigners who are being tracked, but all 12.6 million Muscovites, too. Officials in Moscow have spent the last few years methodically assembling one of the most comprehensive video-surveillance operations in the world. The public-private network of as many as 200,000 cameras records 1.5 billion hours of footage a year that can be accessed by 16,000 government employees, intelligence officers and law-enforcement personnel.”

TOP BOLIVIAN COUP PLOTTERS TRAINED BY US MILITARY’S SCHOOL OF THE AMERICAS, SERVED AS ATTACHÉS IN FBI POLICE PROGRAMS

COMMANDERS OF BOLIVIA’S MILITARY AND POLICE HELPED PLOT THE COUP AND GUARANTEED ITS SUCCESS. BEFORE THEY WERE EDUCATED FOR INSURRECTION THROUGH THE US MILITARY’S NOTORIOUS SCHOOL OF THE AMERICAS AND FBI TRAINING PROGRAMS.
BY JEB SPRAGUE
The United States played a key role in the military coup in Bolivia, and in a direct way that has scarcely been acknowledged in accounts of the events that forced the country’s elected president, Evo Morales, to resign on November 10.

Just prior to Morales’ resignation, the commander of Bolivia’s armed forces Williams Kaliman “suggested” that the president step down. A day earlier, sectors of the country’s police force had rebelled.

BERKELEY INSTRUCTOR: "RURAL AMERICANS" ARE "BAD PEOPLE WHO HAVE MADE BAD LIFE DECISIONS"

In the now-deleted Twitter post published on Nov. 5, Kernion explained why he thought it is plausible to shame rural Americans.

“I unironically embrace the bashing of rural Americans. they, as a group, are bad people who have made bad life decisions,” Kernion wrote.

“Some, I assume, are good people. But this nostalgia for some imagined pastoral way of life is stupid, and we should shame people who aren’t pro-city.”

Before turning to critique the rural American lifestyle, Kernion wrote in another post about affordable healthcare for rural Americans.

He said he believed it would mean they have to be subsidized by “those who choose a more efficient way of life.”

“Rural healthcare should be expensive!” he wrote.

“And that expense should be borne by those who choose rural America!”

“It should be uncomfortable to live in rural America. It should be uncomfortable to not move,” he added.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Mike and I chose to move to Indiana, in a much more rural community, primarily due to the reality that it is off most foreign invasion pathways, unlike Oahu, (known fact) which is a military comm center for much military communications flowing eastward.

If this guy had to grown anything, to later be harvested and eaten, he would most probably die of starvation before that could happen.

TRUMP AND ZELENSKY WANT PEACE WITH RUSSIA. THE FASCISTS OPPOSE THAT

Which brings us to the really critical point of the whole issue. Who defines what is in the "national interest" with regards to foreign policy? Here is a point where for once agree with the right-wingers at the National Review where Andrew McCarthy writes:

[O]n the critical matter of America’s interests in the Russia/Ukraine dynamic, I think the policy community is right, and President Trump is wrong. If I were president, while I would resist gratuitous provocations, I would not publicly associate myself with the delusion that stable friendship is possible (or, frankly, desirable) with Putin’s anti-American dictatorship, which runs its country like a Mafia family and is acting on its revanchist ambitions.
But you see, much like the policy community, I am not president. Donald Trump is.

MORE PEOPLE IN THE UNITED STATES DYING FROM ANTIBIOTIC-RESISTANT INFECTIONS THAN PREVIOUSLY ESTIMATED

SOURCE: HS TODAY
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Wednesday released its updated Antibiotic Resistance Threats in the United States (AR Threats Report) indicating that antibiotic-resistant bacteria and fungi cause more than 2.8 million infections and 35,000 deaths in the United States each year. That means, on average, someone in the United States gets an antibiotic-resistant infection every 11 seconds and every 15 minutes someone dies. When Clostridioides difficile, a bacterium which is not typically resistant but can cause deadly diarrhea and is associated with antibiotic use, is added to these, the U.S. toll of all the threats in the report exceeds 3 million infections and 48,000 deaths.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Antibiotics tend to be used indiscriminately by far too many doctors, and that is the root cause of the problem.

If they knew anything about natural treatments which have proven efficacy in some documented cases, this wouldn't be happening.

Recession Warning: Freight Volumes Negative YoY For 11th Straight Month

Authored by Mike Shedlock via MishTalk,

The Cass Freight Index once again warns again of economic contraction.

Donald Broughton, founder of Broughton Capital and author the Cass Freight Index says the index signals contraction, possibly by the end of the year.

That's just one one month away.

Six Key Points
With the –5.9% decline in October, following the string of declines in May through September (ranging from -3.0% to -6.0%), we repeat our message from the previous five months: the shipments index has gone from “warning of a potential slowdown” to “signaling an economic contraction.”

We acknowledge that: all of these negative percentages were against tough comparisons (some extremely tough), and the Cass Shipments Index has gone negative before without being followed by a negative GDP. However, demand is weaker across almost all modes of transportation, both domestically and internationally.

Libyan Official Urges New US Intervention After Russians Seen "On Front Lines"

A new report in Axios suggests that Russia has significantly increased its presence in war-torn Libya, perhaps seeking to clean up the mess left in the wake of the US-NATO led regime change war which toppled Muammar Gaddafi.

This after a recent NY Times investigation found that at least 200 Russian mercenaries from Wagner Group have been in Libya supporting renegade General Khalifa Haftar's offensive against the UN-backed Government of National Accord (GNA) in Tripoli.

Eight years after Gaddafi's overthrow and brutal field execution at the hands of NATO-backed rebel Islamists, the oil and gas abundant country is still in the throes of grinding factional civil war.

Interior Minister for Tripoli's GNA Fathi Bashagha told Axios the unfolding “proxy war” will doom the country to become “a haven for terrorists and extremists” unless the US steps in again.

The Democrats Have the Country on a Slippery Slope

The fake “whistleblower’s name— Eric Ciamerella—has been known for a long time, but not officially. Now it is official. Senator Rand Paul has officially released his name. Funny, isn’t it, that only the Republicans want Ciamerella to testify. The Democrats won’t hear of it. See this.

If the American people are paying attention, the Democrats are in trouble. When Russiagate fizzled out on them, Adam Schiff (D,CA) orchestrated a fake “whistleblower” whom the Democrats cannot risk putting on the stand to testify. Nearly every Democratic candidate rushed to defend Israel’s attack on Gaza, Warren only one to acknowledge Palestinian deaths

A ceasefire has been reached between Israel and groups in Gaza, after two days of violence that left 34 Palestinians dead. Many of the Democratic candidates have tweeted about the events, defending Israel’s actions while condemning rocket fire from Palestine. Senator Elizabeth Warren and Senator Bernie Sanders expressed concern for Israelis and Palestinians, while Warren was the only candidate to acknowledge that multiple Palestinians have been killed.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Unfortunately for Warren, by making this acknowledgement, she has just lost any chance of winning the Democratic Party's nomination for President.

Tel Aviv is not amused, when someone mentions any deaths or woundings of any Palestinians; I am amazed that she apparently did not know better, than to go there.

Sanders, Warren speak out against Israel-Gaza violence

2020 presidential candidates Sens. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) on Thursday condemned recent violence between Israelis and Palestinians following the announcement of a cease-fire earlier in the day.

The two candidates took to Twitter to condemn acts of violence from Palestinian militant groups accused of firing rockets at Israel, while also calling for an end to the Israeli blockade of the Gaza Strip.

"Israelis should not have to live in fear of rocket fire. Palestinians should not have to live under occupation and blockade," Sanders tweeted.

Webmaster's Commentary:

These are great, and well-nuanced sound bites; but at the end of the day, they will do nothing to forestall more violence perpetrated by Israel against Gaza.

My sense here, as that the IDF will wait for the US Thanksgiving Holiday, starting on 27 November, to uncork, big-time, against Gaza, as they figure that most of Americans will be too sated with turkey's L-tryptophan, and football, to really care, (if they ever did) about what they are going in Gaza.

UK: Julian Assange’s judge and her husband’s links to the British military establishment exposed by WikiLeaks

The husband of Lady Emma Arbuthnot, the Westminster chief magistrate overseeing WikiLeaks’ founder Julian Assange’s extradition to the US, has financial links to the British military establishment, including institutions and individuals exposed by WikiLeaks.

It can also be revealed that Lady Arbuthnot has received gifts and hospitality in relation to her husband, including from a military and cybersecurity company exposed by WikiLeaks. These activities indicate that the chief magistrate’s activities cannot be considered as entirely separate from her husband’s.

Lord Arbuthnot of Edrom, a former defence minister, is a paid chair of the advisory board of military corporation Thales Group, and was until earlier this year an adviser to arms company Babcock International. Both companies have major contracts with the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD).

Webmaster's Commentary:

When Did Ukraine Become a ‘Critical Ally’?

On hearing the State Department’s George Kent and William Taylor describe President Donald Trump’s withholding of military aid to Ukraine, The New York Times summarized and solemnly endorsed their testimony:

"What clearly concerned both witnesses wasn’t simply the abuse of power by the President, but the harm it inflicted on Ukraine, a critical ally, under constant assault by Russian forces."

"’Even as we sit here today, the Russians are attacking Ukrainian soldiers in their own country, and have been for four years,’ Taylor said. ‘I saw this on the front line last week; the day I was there a Ukrainian soldier was killed and four more wounded.’"

Kent compared Ukrainian resistance to Russia’s intervention on the side of the Donbass secessionists to "our own Minutemen in 1776."

Webmaster's Commentary:

Forgive me, folk; but this codswallop is nearly causing me to lose my lunch.

And Patrick Buchanan, dammit, you are better than this, sir.

For the record, there was no "annexation of Crimea by Russia". After the 2014 Putsch, (orchestrated by Washington and the West: see Washington Was Behind Ukraine Coup: Obama admits that US “Brokered a Deal” in Support of “Regime Change”

Two things were done by the head of Crimea's government; the first was to do a free and fair referendum, to ask, post Putsch, if Crimea's people wanted to stay with Ukraine, or petition Russia to become a member of the Russian Federation. The overwhelmingly voted to leave Ukraine, and petition the Russian Federation, a petition Russia accepted. Crimean Status Referendum

And Sir, I am rather chagrined that I need to remind you; Russia, Ukraine, and the US are Signatories to the UN Charter, and the UN Declaration of the Rights of Man, which enshrines the concept of peaceful self-determination, which was precisely what Crimea did in this instance.

Bolivia’s Senate Agrees to Work Toward Early Elections

A late night vote in Bolivia’s Senate, which finally had a quorum after the police stopped blocking the ruling Movement for Socialism (MAS) party from the chamber, has agreed that all parties will work together toward having new elections as soon as possible.

New elections were promised by former President Evo Morales, and are still the goal despite his ouster and exile to Mexico. A lot of details are disputed between Morales’ MAS and self-proclaimed interim president Jeanine Anez, who was endorsed by the US and Bolivia’s military.

Early, free elections are likely to be a matter of dispute, as Anez insisted that, while she will allow the MAS to run a candidate in the vote, they’d better come up with one soon, and that she would absolutely forbid Morales from running again.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Unless she has the guns and military behind her, and in massive numbers, I have to think that this coup might well be short-lived; Morales had the interests, and the concerns, of all of the Bolivian people close to his heart; that made him utter Kryptonite in Washington.

Trump Demands Five-Fold Increase in Payments From South Korea: Officials scramble to justify Trump's demand for $4.7 billion

South Korea has historically paid an unusually large percentage of the cost of keeping US forces there, and under pressure from President Trump, agreed earlier this year to a substantial increase, with South Korea agreeing to pay $924 million annually.

Since then, Trump had suggested a few times that he wanted more, and that South Korea could easily afford it. His new demand, however, shocked everyone on both sides as he is demanding over five times what South Korea is paying, $4.7 billion annually.

This is raising a lot of questions in South Korea about the viability of keeping the US around, but the bigger task is for US officials, who are trying to somehow justify a $4.7 billion price tag that seemingly came out of nowhere.

Tenuous truce in Gaza as Islamic Jihad, Israel differ on terms

Palestinian militant group Islamic Jihad and Israel declared a halt to hostilities across the Gaza Strip border on Thursday but a lasting ceasefire appeared tenuous as they differed on terms.

Islamic Jihad said an Egyptian-mediated truce went into effect at 0330 GMT, about 48 hours after Israel triggered the exchange of fire by killing the Iranian-backed faction’s top Gaza commander in an air strike, deeming him an imminent threat.

Occasional rocket fire from Gaza and a retaliatory Israeli air strike broke the calm, but the ceasefire largely held.

Trump Keeps Contradicting Pentagon on US Role in Syrian War

President Trump’s position on the Syrian War aims to further simplify matters. Turkey’s President Erdogan says he is worried about Turkey’s border with Syria, and President Trump sees an opportunity to contrast his own war, saying “we left troops behind only for the oil.”

In the context of US-Turkey relations, this seems very straightforward and avoids conflicts of interest. Admitting that the whole US war is for oil isn’t the panacea Trump thinks it is, however, and he’s running up against other US officials on this issue.

Lawmakers are couching the Syrian War as being about protecting the Kurds, while the Pentagon’s leadership sees it heavily built around fighting ISIS and continuing to work toward regime change in Syria. Some even suggest it’s about countering Russia.

Trump’s all-oil agenda directly contradicts everyone else, and gives the impression that the US is being deliberately evasive about its military agenda and where US foreign policy is going.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is a classic demonstration of "foreign policy by dart board"; unfortunately, however, none of the agencies involved, from the White House, to the Pentagon, to the State Department, are working from the same dartboard!!!
