Washington’s Erroneous Notion That the Persian Gulf Is an American Lake

For crying out loud, even the barbaric thugs of ISIS milked every possible drop of petroleum from the tiny, wheezing oilfields scattered around their backwater domain before they were finally driven out. So there is no economic case whatsoever for Imperial Washington’s massive military presence in the middle east.

The truth is, there is no such thing as an OPEC cartel – virtually every member produces all they can and cheats whenever possible. The only thing that resembles production control in the global oil market is the fact that the Saudi princes treat their oil reserves not much differently than Exxon.

That is, they attempt to maximize the present value of their 270 billion barrels of reserves. Yet ultimately they are no more clairvoyant at calibrating the best oil price to accomplish that objective at any given time than are the economists employed by Exxon, the DOE or the International Energy Agency.

Trump: US In Very Strong Negotiations in Afghanistan

n rare comments on peace talks in Afghanistan, President Trump reported that “very strong” negotiations are ongoing in the country. He said the people of Afghanistan “are tired of fighting,” and the goal is to end the war.

That said, Trump appeared to try to downplay the effort, saying that the negotiations “probably” are not going to be successful, but “who knows?” He did not elaborate further. Special envoy Zalmay Khalilzad has expressed hopes for a peace deal by April of next year, though the Taliban said no agreements are yet in place.

Less important than what President Trump said was that he addressed the matter at all. The Afghan War has tended not to be a popular topic for him to address. This may suggest a growing interest within the administration to tackle the protracted war.

Vladimir Putin hits out at 'WEAK and politically incompetent' US in scathing attack

VLADIMIR Putin hit out at the government of the United States, arguing that their decision-making is "weak" and "politically incompetent", a documentary has revealed.

Russian president Vladimir Putin spoke about his role in brokering agreements during the Syria crisis, in contrast to Western “incompetence". Appearing on "World Order 2018", he spoke about meeting with representatives from Iran and Turkey. In July 2018, the three countries met for two days of talks on issues related to the war in Syria.

On the international stage, Putin comes off as a consummate statesman; in contrast, President Trump comes across as a bumbling, rambunctious fool, owned, simultaneously, by both Israel and Saudi Arabia.

That "ownership" cannot possibly be good for either the American people, or peace internationally.

Migrant Caravan Planning ‘Human Stampede’ Into America; One Group 500 Feet From U.S. Border

Members of a migrant caravan that marched from Central America through Mexico are reportedly talking about crossing the U.S. border in what amounts to a "human stampede" in order to draw reaction from the Trump administration

“They have that intention,” Sergio Tamai, a founder of Angels without Borders, a group that is aiding the migrants, told Telemundo 20 in San Diego, Fox News reported. “I believe that thousands could make that jump.”

Some 6,000 migrants have gathered in Tijuana, Mexico, across from San Diego, Calif., in the last couple of weeks. The Trump administration says as many as 10,000 could arrive in the next weeks or months. Most are sleeping in the streets or camped out in makeshift tents.

“Most of us, yes, we want to be on the other side,” Jorge Molina, a Honduran migrant, told Telemundo. “Some want to jump over the wall, others to go another way, and others want to wait and see what kind of response they get.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

My hope is that if these people are physically repelled, that no one gets hurt; the optics for even one person (or, God forbid, a child getting hurt) would be horrific for the White House right now.

Ten Reasons Why Governments Fail

TAGS Calculation and Knowledge Political Theory

11/22/ 2018 Antony P. Mueller
When politicians and bureaucrats fail to deliver what they promise — which happens a lot — we're often told that the problem can be solved if only we get the right people to run the government instead. We're told that the old crop of government agents were trying hard enough. Or that they didn't have the right intentions. While it's true that there are plenty of incompetent and ill-intentioned people in government, we can't always blame the people involved. Often, the likelihood of failure is simply built in to the institution of government itself. In other words, politicians and bureaucrats don't succeed because they can't succeed. The very nature of government administration is weighted against success.

Here are ten reasons why:

Paul Craig Roberts On Assange: "Justice Has Disappeared In The West"

Justice has disappeared in the West. In Justice’s place stands Revenge. This fact is conclusively illustrated by Julian Assange’s ongoing eight year ordeal.

For eight years Julian Assange’s life has been lived in a Kafka Police State. He has been incarcerated first under British house arrest and then in the Ecuadoran Embassy in London, despite the absence of any charges filed against him.

Meanwhile, the entirety of the Western world, with the exception of former Educadoran President Rafael Correa and a UN agency that examined the case and ruled Assange was being illegally detained by the UK government’s refusal to honor his grant of political asylum, has turned its back to the injustice.

Webmaster's Commentary:

When criminalizing of the truth becomes standard operating procedure for any government, that government is right on the keening edge of turning fascist., and corrupt beyond any possible redemption.

Where Were The Brexit 'No-Deal' Warnings During The Scottish Independence Debate?

Authored by Bernard Connolly via The Spectator,

Four years ago, 45 per cent of Scottish voters favoured leaving the UK. Many of the warnings about the negative impact of independence on the Scottish economy were justified. But they did not extinguish a yearning for independence – and the same could be said of the EU referendum, with the caveat that this time a majority voted to leave, and many of the warnings were unjustified.

An ineradicable desire to get our country back triumphed over the Project Fear campaign conducted by the Treasury and the whole of the nomenklatura that sought to preserve position, power and privilege for itself and to suppress any notion that ordinary people, in Britain or

In part, that triumph came because of the risible – and dubiously motivated – nature of the economic argument for staying in as presented by assorted anti-Brexit ‘experts’; the ‘experts’ who habitually get the big questions wrong.

El Erian: Brexit & The Global Economy

The singular issue of Brexit has consumed the United Kingdom for two and a half years. The “if,” “how,” and “when” of the country’s withdrawal from the European Union, after decades of membership, has understandably dominated news coverage, and sidelined almost every other policy debate. Lost in the mix, for example, has been any serious discussion of how the UK should boost productivity and competitiveness at a time of global economic and financial fluidity.

At the same time, the rest of the world’s interest in Brexit has understandably waned. The UK’s negotiations with the EU have dragged on through multiple déjà vu moments, and the consensus is that the economic fallout will be felt far more acutely in Britain than in the EU, let alone in countries elsewhere.

MI6 Scrambling To Stop Trump From Releasing Classified Docs In Russia Probe

The UK's Secret Intelligence Service, otherwise known as MI6, has been scrambling to prevent President Trump from publishing classified materials linked to the Russian election meddling investigation, according to The Telegraph, stating that any disclosure would "undermine intelligence gathering if he releases pages of an FBI application to wiretap one of his former campaign advisers."

Trump's allies, however, are fighting back - demanding transparency and suggesting that the UK wouldn't want the documents withheld unless it had something to hide.

The Telegraph has talked to more than a dozen UK and US officials, including in American intelligence, who have revealed details about the row.

British spy chiefs have “genuine concern” about sources being exposed if classified parts of the wiretap request were made public, according to figures familiar with discussions.

Webmaster's Commentary:

One has to wonder just what was so damning that the UK's and Australia's intelligence community are so dead against this release of information.

The Deep State has gone ahead with the plan. This New York Times article awkwardly titled ‘Assange Is Secretly Charged in U.S., Prosecutors Mistakenly Reveal‘ is almost a step-by-step guide for building a Fake News narrative. Let’s take a look.

Latin America Has Fewer Guns, But More Crime

Although we hear relentlessly in this country that more guns lead to more crime, the experience of Latin America certainly doesn’t lend much credence to the idea. Advocates for gun control try to ignore Latin America and focus strictly on Europe, where they claim that low crime rates are synonymous with low levels of gun ownership. (Even this claim must exclude Russia, Switzerland, Ukraine, and the Baltics to be true.) By expanding our analysis to the Americas, however, we quickly find these claims are anything but self-evident.

YouTube goes to war with natural medicine as tech giant starts BANNING video channels for talking about herbal remedies

One place you won’t be able to hear about people’s successes with alternative treatments, however, is the increasingly corrupt YouTube, which has now taken to banning video channels that dare to mention that natural medicine might actually help someone.....

So just what was so offensive about the 43-second video that earned Natural News a ban? A woman talks about how she went from being told she had just six weeks to live because of stomach cancer to complete remission thanks to cannabis oil, and she shared her belief that it should be legalized for medicinal purposes. Syria, A Frozen Conflict: The Final Push for Idlib Will Come Soon

The current truce is a strategic pause that has all the appearance of what has happened in the past in the provinces of Homs and Aleppo. The need to free Idlib from terrorists goes hand in hand with the promise of Assad and the government of Damascus to liberate every inch of Syria from terrorists. The diplomatic efforts of Moscow serve to prepare the ground for what will happen in the coming months, with the SAA set to advance on Idlib. In this sense, the deployment of advanced systems in Syria serves as a deterrent against possible responses from countries like Israel and the United States, anxious to defend their jihadists, but continuing to have minimal influence on the ground.

U.S. ambassador: Iran failed to declare all chemical weapons to global agency

Iran has not declared all its chemical weapons capabilities to the global chemical weapons agency in The Hague, in violation of an international non-proliferation convention, the U.S. ambassador to the organisation said on Thursday.

Ambassador Kenneth Ward told a meeting of the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) that Iran had failed to report a production facility for the filling of aerial bombs and maintains a programme to obtain banned toxic munitions.

There was no immediate Iranian reaction to the remarks.

Israel's Iron Dome defense of Saudi Arabia aims to avert collapse of Trump and Netanyahu's entire Middle East strategy: But Democrats view it as yet another expression of the prime minister’s overzealous backing for a despised U.S. president

Trump had no hesitation about deploying whatever remains of Israel’s good name as a political Iron Dome. On Thursday night he asserted, “Israel would be in a lot of trouble without Saudi Arabia.” In his written statement, Trump mentioned Israel twice: First to underline Saudi Arabia’s importance in warding off the big Satan Iran and then to justify Washington’s intention of standing by Riyadh in order to “ensure the interests of our country, Israel and all other partners in the region.”

Israel, Trump assumes, is the magic word that will ensure the support of Evangelicals, who will in turn mitigate the harsh positions taken by some Republican Senators, especially Lindsey Graham, against the Saudi crown prince.

Democrats, in any case, were apparently less impressed. Widely respected Washington Post columnist Jackson Diehl wrote that “a lot of Republicans as well as Democrats will be repelled… by the spectacle of an Israeli leader lobbying to excuse an Arab dictator for murder.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Assassination...is one of the tools of statecraft; and no country on this planet understands this better than those in the Bowels of Power in Tel Aviv.

Julian Assange deserves a Medal of Freedom, not a secret indictment

Wikileaks founder Julian Assange has been secretly indicted by the Trump administration’s Justice Department, “a drastic escalation” of the feds’ efforts against him, the New York Times reported. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has denounced Wikileaks as a “non-state hostile intelligence service” and labeled Assange a “fraud,” “coward,” and “enemy.” But rather than a federal indictment, Assange deserves a tweaked version of one of Washington’s hottest honorifics.

Wikileaks has been in the federal crosshairs since it released scores of thousands of documents exposing lies and atrocities regarding the Afghan and Iraq wars, thanks to leaks from Army corporal Bradley (now Chelsea) Manning. During the 2016 presidential campaign, Wikileaks released emails from the Democratic National Committee showing that its nominating process was rigged to favor Hillary Clinton. During the final month of the campaign, Wikileaks disclosed emails from Clinton campaign chief John Podesta.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This absolutely disgusts me; President Trump should have a pre-written Notice of Commutation for any sentence our alleged "justice" can throw at Assange.

Were I a betting person, I might well bet that he may not get to his arraignment, but be assassinated before he can testify "as a message to anyone who discloses any real embarrassment to the US government."

This is why it is so critically important for the independent media, to be following this story.

ESCOBAR: ERDOGAN, MBS, ISLAMIC LEADERSHIP, & THE PRICE OF SILENCE

The House of Saud's ties to the Khashoggi slaying are being milked by the Turkish President for maximum benefit amid debate on leadership of the Islamic world and how the crisis may affect US and Saudi strategy in the Middle East...

Call it the Gazprom double down. Nord Stream 1 and 2 supply northern Europe while TurkStream supplies southern Europe. Pipelines are steel umbilical cords. They represent liquid connectivity at its best while conclusively decreasing risks of geopolitical friction.

The Kremlin and the Russian Foreign Ministry are very much aware that the high-stakes game goes way beyond ‘Pulp Fiction’ in Istanbul and the Astana peace process on Syria – carefully micro-managed by both Putin and Erdogan alongside Iran’s Rouhani. PENTAGON’S ‘LOST’ TRILLIONS WENT TO PEOPLE CONNECTED TO US MILITARY-INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX: RON PAUL

Former Republican congressman and presidential candidate Ron Paul has said that “the Pentagon’s lost trillions have nothing to do with defense, adding that the “money propping up the high lifestyles of those connected to the military-industrial complex.”

Dr. Paul, a three-time American presidential candidate and the founder of the Ron Paul Institute for Peace and Prosperity, made the remarks in an article published by his website on Monday.

Deputy US Secretary of Defense Patrick Shanahan has recently acknowledged that the Pentagon has failed its first-ever comprehensive audit, saying, “We failed the audit, but we never expected to pass it.”

n his article, Dr. Paul wrote that “the results are as many of us expected. After spending nearly a billion dollars to find out what has happened to trillions in unaccounted-for spending, the long look through the books has concluded that only ten percent of all Pentagon agencies pass muster.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

We Must Never Allow Legitimate Criticism of Israel to be Defined as Anti-Semitic

The reason the Niemoller quotation occupies my mind so much right now is my mixture of rage and powerlessness in the face of the hurtful, disgraceful and ludicrous accusations of anti-Semitism levelled against three individuals I know. Jim Sheridan, no relation, is a former Labour MP for Paisley, Renfrewshire, near to where I live and he is currently a Renfrewshire Labour councillor.

Mary used her personal Facebook account to state:

"If the purpose is to generate opposition to anti-Semitism, it has backfired spectacularly".

"If it is to get rid of Jeremy Corbyn as Labour Leader, it is unlikely to succeed, and is a shameless piece of cynical opportunism".

"And if it is a Mossad [the Israeli secret service] assisted the campaign to prevent the election of a Labour Government pledged to recognise Palestine as a State, it is unacceptable interference in the democracy of Britain."

Not only is that statement not anti-Semitic it is also politically astute and very mature.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This earnest desire to conflate any criticism of the Israeli government with anti-Semitism, must not be allowed to fester.

Again, this is why the BDS campaign is so critical right now.

Registering Israel’s “Useful Idiots: ”FDD and AIPAC need adult supervision

But there is a more serious consideration in terms of the actual relationships that many of the groups enjoy with the Israeli government. To be sure, many of them boast on their promotional literature and websites about their relationships with the Benjamin Netanyahu and his cabinet, so the issue of dual loyalty or, worse, acting as actual Israeli government agents must be considered.

There is a legal remedy to hostile foreigners acting against American interests and that is the Foreign Agents Registration Act of 1938 (FARA). Originally intended to identify and monitor agents of Nazi Germany propagandizing in the United States, it has since been applied to individuals and groups linked to other nations. Most recently, it was used against Russian news agencies RT America and Sputnik, which were forced to register. It is also being considered for Qatar based al-Jazeera.

Yemen Genocide About Oil Control

As with virtually every war and destabilization since the British first discovered abundant oil in the Persian Gulf over a century ago, the Yemen war is about oil, more precisely about control of oil, lots of oil.

Yemen is a strategically key geopolitical stretch of land at the critical connecting point of the Red Sea which links to the Mediterranean via the Suez Canal and the Indian Ocean. It’s the site of one of the world’s most strategic shipping choke points, the Bab el Mandab, a narrow passage a mere 18 miles distance from Djibouti in the Horn of Africa, making it one of the US Department of Energy’s Oil Transit Chokepoints. According to the US Department of Energy an estimated 4.7 million barrels of oil passes through Bab el Mandab in both directions daily, including oil bound for China.

The Only Regime Change that Is Needed Is in Washington

Actually, the only regime change that is needed is in Washington and it would include Jeffrey, Bolton, Haley, Pompeo, and Miller. And while we’re at it, get rid of son-in-law Jared Kushner and his claque of Orthodox Jews, Jason Greenblatt the “peace negotiator” and David Friedman the U.S. Ambassador in Israel. None of them are capable of acting to advance any American national interest, which they wouldn’t recognize even if it hit them in the butt. Once they are gone the U.S. can bid the Middle East goodbye and leave its constituent nations to sort out their own problems. Jeffrey’s ridiculous prescriptions for the Syrians and Russians are symptomatic of what one gets from a team of yes-men who have latched onto some dystopic ideas and pursued them relentlessly, blinded by what they believe to be American power. Someone should tell them that their antics have made that power a commodity that is dramatically depreciating in value, but it is clear that they are not listening.

However, the corrupt and servile UK government that serves Washington, and not justice or law, refused to honor Assange’s asylum. The US vassal known as the UK stands ready to arrest Assange on Washington’s orders if he steps outside the embassy and to hand him over to Washington, where a large number of both Democrats and Republicans in Congress have said he should be executed. The Trump regime, carrying on the illegal practices of its forebears, has a secret indictment waiting to be revealed once they have their hands on Assange.

IRAQ REFUSES TO COMPLY WITH U.S. SANCTIONS ON IRAN?

The Iraqi government is refusing to comply with a second round of United States economic sanctions targeting Iran's crucial energy, shipping and banking sectors. “The decision isn’t international, Iraqi, or part of a United Nations resolution—it's an American one,” Iraq's Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi explained in reference to Baghdad's position to not “respect” the financial penalties. He added that Iraq "does not accept dictates" and is not obligated to fall in line with US foreign policy or any "aggression" against another country.

The announcement comes after Iraqi President Barham Salih over the weekend visited Tehran, where he discussed with his counterpart Hassan Rouhani ways to enhance bilateral ties as well as the potential establishment of free trade zones along the shared border. The trip raised eyebrows in Washington, which fears growing Iranian influence over Baghdad could offset a fifteen-year military and diplomatic effort to rebuild Iraq in its image.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Good on Iraq!!

And had the US government not insisted on de-baathification shortly after its occupation of Baghdad, perhaps the Iraqis would not have had to put up with such a corrupt, US-centric government in the aftermath, causing them, this year, to create a coalition centered around Muqtada Al Sadr, the Shiite scholar who right now is the most powerful person in Iraq, without a title or official role in the government.

Gabbard says being Saudi Arabia's 'bitch' is not 'America First'

Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii) took aim at President Trump on Wednesday over his comments regarding the killing of Jamal Khashoggi, a Washington Post journalist who disappeared after entering the Saudi Arabian consulate in Turkey.

Gabbard wrote on Twitter that "being Saudi Arabia's bitch" did not align with the president's campaign theme of "America First," a day after Trump indicated that Saudi Arabia would not face severe consequences over Khashoggi's death.

Her comments came after Trump, as well as Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, indicated that the U.S. would not sanction Saudi Arabia or otherwise punish the country over Khashoggi's death. Their stance drew criticism from both sides of the aisle Tuesday as politicians in both parties accused the White House looking the other way when it came to the Saudi government's alleged crimes.

US bombs continue to kill in Laos 50 years after Vietnam War

US dropped two million tonnes of bombs on Laos at height of Vietnam War. Why are cluster munitions still killing?

Vientiane - This year's Thanksgiving celebration marks 50 years since the American military embarked on the biggest bombing campaign in history, decimating the small Southeast Asian country of Laos by dropping more than two million tonnes of bombs on it at the height of the Vietnam War.

Half a century on, innocent lives are still being lost as the country struggles with the leftovers of the conflict.

On Thanksgiving Day in November 1968, the United States escalated its war against North Vietnam in Laos.

Then-US President Lyndon B Johnson had ordered traditional turkey dinners to be helicoptered in to US troops who were secretly deployed in the quiet, landlocked country to sever the North Vietnamese supply lines that ran through the east.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The US government and military rarely clean up their global messes; it should be American teams in Laos, doing the cleanup, and making living for these people safe again, without the threat of even one child ever getting torn apart, limb from limb, by these devices.

The Tide Is Turning: Israel Is Losing on Two War Fronts

The November 12 botched Israeli military operation in the Gaza Strip is delineating Tel Aviv’s failure to utilize its army as a tool to achieve Palestinian political concessions.

Now that the Palestinian popular resistance has gone global through the exponential rise and growing success of the Boycott Movement, the Israeli government is fighting two desperate wars.

Following the Gaza attack, Palestinians responded by showering the Israeli southern border with rockets and carried out a precise operation targeting an Israeli army bus.

As Palestinians marched in celebration of pushing the Israeli army out of their besieged region, the fragile political order in Israel, long-managed by right-wing Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, was quickly unraveling.

Two days after the Israeli attack on Gaza, Defense Minister, Avigdor Lieberman, quit in protest of Netanyahu’s "surrender" to the Palestinian Resistance.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is why the continuation of the BDS movement is so critical right now; money, or the lack of it, is a language in which Israelis are quite proficient.

Trump Defends the Indefensible in Yemen

Trump has deservedly elicited widespread criticism for his treatment of the Khashoggi killing in a statement that appeared designed to preempt a U.S. intelligence assessment. He repeats the claim Khashoggi was part of the Muslim Brotherhood without really taking a position one way or the other and seemingly shrugs at the question of whether the crown prince had advance knowledge of the columnist’s torture and dismemberment. (“[M]aybe he did and maybe he didn’t!”)

But the apologia for the Saudi and United Arab Emirates war in Yemen, backed by our own government, should not escape reproach. Trump opens with some whataboutism and saber-rattling against Iran before lavishing praise on Saudi Arabia.

Webmaster's Commentary:

As a Christian pacifist activist, who abhors war as a way to achieve some wanted geopolitical outcome, and never advocates violence, for as long as this wretched war continues, I am compelled to witness, as truthfully as I can, to what the United States and its military, have done here, and are continuing to do in Yemen.

And here is what the US-enabled, Saudi war crimes look like in Yemen: warning; very graphic photos:

Yemeni children, killed or maimed for life, courtesy of US-enabled Saudi air strikes

Images: Yemeni children dying from malnutrition, courtesy of US-enabled Saudi port blockades

Images: Yemeni children dying of (possibly weaponized) cholera because all clean Yemeni water infrastructure has been destroyed by US-enabled Saudi destruction of these resources

It is painfully obvious to anyone with two brain cells to rub together, that the US government, with full knowledge and intent, has been assisting Saudi Arabia in committing war crimes in Yemen.

And if either Sec Def Mattis, or Mike Pompeo thought for one millisecond, that they could "control" the actions of Prince bin Salman, after Saudi-aligned forces broke the cease-fire, and started shelling Hodeida mercilessly, they have been proven absolutely, and catastrophically wrong.

It appears that President Trump, our Merchant of Death in Chief believes firmly that these children and their parents must die, and are nothing more than "collateral damage" in the name of keeping sales of Boeing, Lockheed Martin and Raytheon, and the other military industrial complex corporations, humming along to Saudi Arabia.

I would imagine that today, Dennis A. Muilenburg, President of Boeing; Marillyn Hewson, President of Lockheed Martin; and Roy Azevedo, President of Raytheon, are all having a lovely, traditional Thanksgiving dinner, with all the trimmings with family and friends; unfortunately, the children of Yemen, appear to be only worthy of the above-documented death and destruction at the hands of the Butcher of Yemen, Saudi Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and his BFF and enabler, America's Merchant of Death in Chief, President Trump.

US to Build Military Outposts on Syria-Turkey Border

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Defense Secretary James Mattis revealed that the US intends to build a number of new military “observation outposts” on the Turkey-Syria border. The posts will be inside Syrian territory, where the Kurdish forces are based.

The intention is to reduce tensions between the Turkish government and the Kurdish YPG. Mattis says that the US would be able to “call the Turks and warn them if we see something coming out of an area we’re operating in.”

In theory, this is to be understood as warning if the YPG (who the Turks consider terrorists) are attacking Turkey. In practice, Turkey has tended to carry out most of the attacks, however, which means the US posts may be taken as intended to give the Kurds advance notice.

Webmaster's Commentary:

There is a "good reason" and a "real reason" the US military does anything; the real reason here, seems to be biting off hunks of Syria that the Kurds can ultimately claim as its official territory, and its homeland.

CDC launches task force for polio-like disease as MORE cases emerge: Now 109 kids are confirmed sick and 167 are under investigation as officials scramble to identify the cause

Another 16 children have contracted the rare polio-like disease, acute flaccid myelitis (AFM) - bringing the total number of confirmed cases this year to 109 across 29 states, the CDC has revealed.

Another 167 children are showing tell-tale symptoms of the mysterious illness which has emerged as a major public health threat every other year since 2014.

It seems to be caused by a combination of viruses but this year, the third time AFM has surged, the CDC is still struggling to identify exactly how and why it takes hold.

As such, the agency today formed a task force designed to investigate the driving forces and possible treatments of AFM, and to establish what post-AFM life looks like for sufferers.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I have to wonder; what if turns out that 90%, or more of these kids, have already been vaccinated against polio?!?!? Were they given a shot, or an oral form of the drug?

As stated in Wikipedia:

"Vaccine description: Target disease Poliomyelitis

Polio vaccines are vaccines used to prevent poliomyelitis (polio).[1] Two types are used: an inactivated poliovirus given by injection (IPV) and a weakened poliovirus given by mouth (OPV).[1] The World Health Organization recommends all children be fully vaccinated against polio.[1] The two vaccines have eliminated polio from most of the world,[2][3] and reduced the number of cases reported each year from an estimated 350,000 in 1988 to 22 in 2017.[4]

The inactivated polio vaccines are very safe.[1] Mild redness or pain may occur at the site of injection.[1] Oral polio vaccines cause about three cases of vaccine-associated paralytic poliomyelitis per million doses given.[1]"

And a couple of weeks ago, the following made headlines:

Parents accuse CDC of not reporting childrens' death from AFM

This article goes on to state: "Parents of children who had a horrifying polio-like illness are accusing the Centers for Disease Control of hiding the deaths of two children who suffered from the condition.

This little PR stunt on the part of the CDC, is nothing more than trying to stay one step ahead of furious parents, whose kids may have been put at risk

The parents say by not publicly acknowledging the two deaths, the agency is intentionally downplaying the severity of acute flaccid myelitis (AFM), a disease that paralyzes healthy children in a matter of hours.

"I feel like they're just sugar-coating this," said Katie Bustamante, whose son Alex, age 6, died in May. "It eliminates my trust in the CDC."

Their accusations come amid a wave of criticism from parents of children with AFM and from some of the CDC's own medical advisers. In a recent on-camera interview with CNN, a group of parents gave the agency an "F" for its handling of the outbreak."

Also, there is also a vaccine-derived form of the virus:

vaccine-derrived poliovirus

Other interesting studies here include:

Vaccine causing polio in Africa?!?

The article goes on to state:

"Christopher K. Brown: There are several different ways to make a vaccine, one of which involves weakening the pathogen that causes the disease so that, ideally, it triggers the vaccine recipient’s immune system to recognize and fight off the pathogen without actually causing a case of disease. Because weakened—or attenuated, as they are called—vaccines still include a live, virulent organism, they are in very rare instances linked to disease, whether in a single individual or as the culprit behind an outbreak. Scientists do not fully understand why the intentional infection that the oral poliovirus vaccine causes might lead to unintended disease in an extremely small number of vaccinated people, but it is likely that having a weakened immune system may contribute to someone experiencing paralysis after getting the attenuated vaccine.

The process by which an attenuated vaccine leads to a larger outbreak is more complicated. When someone gets the vaccine, the viruses it contains replicate in the small intestine. The weakened viruses can then spread from person to person. This can be a good thing in that it offers immunity to people who are exposed through this type of transmission even though they didn’t get the vaccine themselves—and thus it increases the proportion of the population that most likely will not get polio even if exposed to poliovirus (that is, it bolsters herd immunity). But if a vaccine-derived strain of the virus continues to spread and replicate, mutations in its RNA (the genetic material that controls the virus) can over time allow it to revert to a form capable of causing disease, including paralysis, as we are seeing among children in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. If most of a population is not immune to the particular strain, then more people may start to develop disease as a result of the vaccine strain becoming virulent again."

Chuck Grassley to Chief Justice John Roberts: You Rebuked Trump — but Sat Silent Through Obama’s Abuse

U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts offered rare public criticism of the President of the United States on Wednesday when he pushed back against President Trump’s claim Tuesday that an “Obama judge” had blocked his effort to deny asylum to those entering the country illegally.

But as outgoing Senate Judiciary Committee chair Sen. Charles Grassley (R-IA) later noted, Roberts was silent when President Barack Obama attacked the Court during the State of the Union address in 2010:

Chief Justice Roberts rebuked Trump for a comment he made about judge’s decision on asylum I don’t recall the Chief attacking Obama when that President rebuked Alito during a State of the Union.

In 2010, President Obama used his first State of the Union address to denounce the Court’s January 2010 ruling in the Citizens United case, which struck down restrictions on corporate political speech under the First Amendment.

The Social Concentration Camp

This madness and abnormality is clear to me. I can’t understand why it isn’t clear to others. Am I mad? Am I the one who is abnormal? How can so many millions of people be oblivious to the facts and reality of our situation? They just seem to sleepwalk through life believing what they are told, thinking the way their keepers want them to think, doing what they are told to do, not questioning authority figures, and fulfilling their infinite appetite for distractions with their technological gadgets. As Huxley predicted in the late 1950s, the fact people have adjusted to this profoundly abnormal society is a measure of their mental sickness. Being normal today is considered abnormal.

The Death Of John Kennedy

There have been two official investigations. One concluded Oswald acted alone, the other that there was a conspiracy. After half a century, many of the key documents which could tell the whole story remain classified. John F. Kennedy's brain is still missing from the National Archives. Why, if it is an open and shut case? Why the secrecy, if Oswald was just a "crazed lone gunman"?

Fruits of College Indoctrination

Benjamin Franklin wrote, “Whoever would overthrow the Liberty of a Nation, must begin by subduing the Freeness of Speech.” Much later, Supreme Court Justice Potter Stewart said, “Censorship reflects a society’s lack of confidence in itself. It is a hallmark of an authoritarian regime.” From the Nazis to Stalinists to Maoists, tyrants have always started out supporting free speech, just as American leftists did during the 1960s. Their support for free speech is easy to understand. Speech is vital for the realization of their goals of command, control and confiscation. The right to say what they please is their tool for indoctrination, propagandizing and proselytization. Once the leftists gain control, as they have at many universities, free speech becomes a liability and must be suppressed. This is increasingly the case on university campuses. Much of the off-campus incivility we see today is the fruit of what a college education has done to our youth.

Dershowitz: Shouldn’t Criminalize Private Email Use by Hillary or Ivanka, ‘Hypocrisy on Parade’

On Tuesday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “America’s Newsroom,” Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz argued that private email use shouldn’t be criminalized, whether the email use was done by Hillary Clinton or Ivanka Trump and criticized the “hypocrisy on parade.”

Dershowitz said, “I think it’s hypocrisy on parade. Each side uses whatever arguments they can to help and bolster their partisan position. Look, everybody uses private emails. We now have a list of probably a dozen people in public life who have used emails. Apparently, Ivanka Trump used the emails only for scheduling purposes. There was no classified material. The emails are all preserved. It’s a non-issue. It’s just partisan bickering. We should not be criminalizing the use of private emails, whether by Hillary Clinton or by Ivanka Trump.”

More Evidence Supporting the “Russia Did It” Narrative Is Another Branch of Spiritual Warfare

The deeper we look into the resurgence of nationalism / retraditionalization the more evidence we find to support some of the reasoning behind the western media continually shouting “Russia did it“. Corporate media does this in the face of overwhelming evidence that China has been, and will continue to be, the major threat to the U.S. economy. We are not calling either nation an enemy we are merely pointing out that China’s economic engine, along with the build out of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and all the parallel financial institutions pose more of a threat than Russia. Russia’s economy, while growing stronger every single day, is still years away from challenging the U.S. dominance in the market place. China on the other hand, many would argue, has grown her economy to overtake the status of being the largest economy in the world.

A conspiracy theory is born: US comedian calls Ocasio-Cortez ‘a Russian tool’

‘Russiagate’ seems to have claimed another victim. Comedian Jen Kirkman went into a full meltdown, starting by branding Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez a Russian tool and ending with blaming Putin for messing up her life.

Representative-elect Ocasio-Cortez is a rising star of progressive politics, whose way to national prominence began after she defeated veteran congressman Joe Crowley in a Democratic primary. She runs on a progressive platform and wants similarly-minded people to get elected the same way she did – by challenging centrist Democrats and thus shifting the entire party to the left.

According to Kirkman, this is all a secret ploy of Russian President Vladimir Putin, who wants to divide the Democratic Party and "take over America." On Sunday, she shared her suspicions about the politician with her 260,000 Twitter followers in a long thread that has since gone viral.

YOUR MEDICAL DEVICES ARE NOT KEEPING YOUR HEALTH DATA TO THEMSELVES — PROPUBLICA

CPAP units, heart monitors, blood glucose meters and lifestyle apps generate information that can be used in ways patients don’t necessarily expect. It can be sold for advertising or even shared with insurers, who may use it to deny reimbursement.

Medical devices are gathering more and more data from their users, whether it’s their heart rates, sleep patterns or the number of steps taken in a day. Insurers and medical device makers say such data can be used to vastly improve health care.

But the data that’s generated can also be used in ways that patients don’t necessarily expect. It can be packaged and sold for advertising. It can anonymized and used by customer support and information technology companies. Or it can be shared with health insurers, who may use it to deny reimbursement. Privacy experts warn that data gathered by insurers could also be used to rate individuals’ health care costs and potentially raise their premiums.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Expect every and any data any which these devices process, to be sent, sold, or analyzed,in ways which never even occurred to you, as the end user.

Former Fox News Analyst: White Women Who Voted for Trump Are Racists

CNN political analyst Kirsten Powers, formerly of Fox News, claimed that all white women who voted for Donald Trump are racist during a panel hosted by Don Lemon.

Starting with the false premise that the President uses racist language, she argued that casting a vote in his favor was a vote cast in favor of that language, and by extension, his alleged racist motivations.

US Preparing to List Venezuela as State Sponsor of Terrorism - Reports

The Trump administration is getting ready to add Venezuela to the US list of state sponsors of terrorism, The Washington Post newspaper reported, citing US officials and internal government emails.

The newspaper said that US officials and the Department of State declined to comment on the pending decision. However, the Washington Post noted that the State Department had recently asked for feedback on the proposed decision from agencies such as the Department of Health and Human Services, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the US Agency for International Development.
