Here’s All the Times Obama Ejected the Media

President Donald Trump’s explosive exchange with Jim Acosta, and the subsequent revocation of his White House press credentials, is now the big story. Naturally, CNN and every other liberal rushed to his defense, and claimed Trump’s hostility towards the media is unprecedented. Ironically, these same liberals loved it when Obama showed disrespect to journalists they disagreed with – they’re just unhappy now they’re feeling the same fire.

Obama ejecting journalists all the time

There were numerous occasions in which Obama (and others in his administration) actually ejected journalists from his press conferences – and of course you didn’t hear hysterical screeching about “dictators” and “fascism” and “the free press being under attack.”

THE STATE WEAPONIZES EDUCATION TO CREATE IGNORANCE

A hundred fifty years ago, at least some Americans recognized that all serious discourse depended on the use of the faculty called Reason.

Formal debate, science, and law all flowed from that source.

A common bond existed in some schools of the day. The student was expected to learn how Reason operates, and for that he was taught the only subject which could lay out, as on a long table, the visible principles: Logic.

This was accepted.

But now, this bond is gone.

The independence engendered by the disciplined study of logic is no longer a desired quality in students.

Webmaster's Commentary:

You can even see it in the architecture of a lot of recently refurbished or newly built schools; they look as though they could be prisons for low-level criminals, instead of beautiful places which encourage thought or reflection.

We want to believe: ‘Russian hacking’ memo REVEALS how US intel pinned leaks to Kremlin

A newly-out memo containing the Obama admin’s talking points about “Russian hacking” in the 2016 election reveals how US spy agencies attributed email leaks to Kremlin by saying it’s “consistent” with what they think Russia does.

The seven-page document was contained within the 49 pages published on Friday by BuzzFeed, which obtained them through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) inquiry from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) in late October. At the root of it is a November 29 letter by several Democrats on the Senate Intelligence Committee, asking then-President Barack Obama to declassify documents concerning “Russian Active Measures.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Short version: The Russian hacking claim was a lie.

Why Are so Few Americans Able to Get Ahead?

Despite the rah-rah about the "ownership society" and the best economy ever, the sobering reality is very few Americans are able to get ahead, i.e. build real financial security via meaningful, secure assets which can be passed on to their children.

The Five Features of the Left’s Fact-Free Universe

Answer: because this is the way millions of leftists think. -- They live in a universe in which the GOP is about to abolish the welfare state, the Ku Klux Klan (which has somewhere between 3000 and 6000 members nationwide) is an influential institution, the United States has a “rape culture,” white nationalists can be found in many prominent positions, and “literal Nazis” are in the White House. -- When asked for evidence to support bizarre, tone-deaf, I’m-living-on-another-planet claims like these, the so-called evidence always winds up like that article — either showing nothing of the kind, or indeed proving the exact opposite. -- The fact-free universe they live in, which stokes their emotional hypochondria, motivates the mobs threatening people like Carlson.

Missing the Marx: Gun Control’s Future is … Communism?

Leave it to a left-leaning private equity investor to assume that Americans’ fundamental rights are merely one more type of commodity that can be bought and sold in a highly-manipulated market. Of course, left-leaning oligarchs regard American democracy itself that way, as something that can be had for a price and then used to suit their personal ends and preferences. And, they’ve spent heavily to ensure their chosen party controls Congress after November 6 and will no doubt be expecting a return on their investment in the form of public policy that meets their approval.

Evacuees are reportedly being turned away from overflowing shelters in Southern California as three wildfires continue to ravage the state, forcing some 300,000 panicked residents to flee their homes.

Communities across Ventura and Los Angeles counties including the city of Malibu, Calabasas and the Topanga Canyon area were placed under evacuation orders on Friday as the Woolsey and Hill fires razed countless buildings and homes to the ground.

More than 600 members of law enforcement canvassed the area through Friday night, pounding on doors to tell a quarter of a million residents to leave their homes as the fires closed in, covering more nearly 75,000 acres as of Saturday morning.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am crying, as I type this.

This isn't just a "bad fire"; this is an absolute catastrophe from which there is no escape for the people affected.

US calls for end to South China Sea militarization, China says to stop sending warships

he US pressed China to halt militarization of the South China Sea during a joint news conference on talks aimed at smoothing already tense relations ahead of this month's G20 summit in Argentina.

“We have continued concerns about China's activities and militarization in the South China Sea,” US Secretary for State Mike Pompeo told media following talks on Friday with US Defence Secretary James Mattis and their Chinese counterparts.

We pressed China to live up to its past commitments in this area,” he added.

In response, Chinese Politburo member Yang Jiechi said the situation in the South China Sea was “treading towards greater stability,” but rebuked Washington over its sending of warships and military aircraft near Chinese islands and reefs, in what he described as actions that undermined Chinese interests.

Webmaster's Commentary:

War with China?!?

Just because it would be the most ham-fistedly, pig-headedly stupid thing for the US to do, is no guarantee that it will not do it.

And right now, if you have read any of my blogs this morning, about how the US is falling further behind in its weaponry, vis a vis the Chinese and Russians, you will understand that this country should be making every effort to avoid a military confrontation with either, or both, countries.

Muslims Shouting About Killing Jews Interrupt London Event

As about 20 Muslims interrupted a vigil, some brought up an event from early Islamic history, when Muhammed’s followers killed, injured, and displaced crowds of Jews from the town of Khaybar.

A vigil organized by pro-Israel activists in London’s Hyde Park, famous for being a free speech area, appeared to be severely interrupted and then dispersed altogether by men shouting anti-Jewish chants in Arabic, according to the Jewish Telegraphic Agency.

A few dozen people waving Israeli flags with candles in their hands gathered there ahead of the so-called Kristallnacht remembrance day, commemorating victims of the Nazi pogrom of 1938, as well as Jews killed and wounded across the Arab world.

Joseph Cohen, an Israel advocacy Movement campaigner, was filming the event when 20 men chimed in shouting:

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am very grateful to be living in a "rainbow state", where people do not judge others by their faith, but what they do with their lives.

And to the guys who thought disrupting this event was a "great idea", actually, no, it sure as heck was not.

Blaming, accusing, and disrupting an event is easy; working with each other, in a dignified and respectful way that leads to moral, responsible conflict resolution, is the hardest thing in the world to do.

And yet, that is what we must commit ourselves to doing at this part of the 21st century, if we want there to be a future for humankind.

Hezbollah Leader Vows to Respond to Any Israeli Attack on Lebanon - Reports

Historically tense relations between Israel and the Lebanon-based group hit a new low this autumn after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accused Hezbollah of building a missile factory and hiding it in the civilian infrastructure of Beirut's international airport.

During a televised speech on Saturday, Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah said that the movement would retaliate against any Israeli attack on Lebanon.

"Any attack will definitely and certainly be responded to," he said.

Speaking at the UN General Assembly in September, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu provided satellite images of what he claimed were Hezbollah precision-guided missile installations at Beirut's international airport. He also accused the group of using Beirut's residents as human shields and emphasized that Israel would 'not let [Hezbollah] get away with' their behaviour.

Webmaster's Commentary:

At least, Netanyahu wasn't showing off "An Iranian cartoon bomb" this year; but things are getting immensely tense in the region, and one stupid mistake, one simple misunderstanding, could lead to a military showdown between Israel, Lebanon, and Iran.

And on such a potential for horrific violence, I would politely like to ask President Trump to pick his battles in such a conflict very, very carefully.

Trump Threatens To Cut Wildfire Funding Unless Cali Ends "Gross Mismanagement Of Forests"

As the wildfires ravaging Northern and Southern California destroy billions of dollars worth of real estate, President Trump reminded the world in a Saturday morning tweet that global warming - which many (on the left in particular) have blamed for the fires - isn't the responsible for the fires. Rather, California's inept forest-management strategies have left the state vulnerable as drought-like conditions have transformed the state's densely packed forests into a bed of kindling, just waiting to be set off by a stray cigarette butt.

In a tweet that seems almost tailor-made to trigger the left, President Trump threatened to revoke the "billions that are given each year" to the state if California doesn't address the "gross mismanagement" of its forests and take more steps to mitigate the fires.

Clueless Journalist Gets Dragged For Saying ‘America Isn’t At War’ In Election Day Tweet

Klein, the founder and editor-at-large for Vox.com, made the claim in a tweet about the mid term election on Tuesday, opining on why the Democrats took the House of Representatives. Comparing 2018 to 2008 — when Democrats took power amid a war in Iraq and Afghanistan — Klein argued that the Tuesday election was a “pure repudiation” of Trump, since unemployment was so low and America was no longer at war.

The only problem, of course, is that America is still at war in the same places it was in 2008, in Iraq and Afghanistan — albeit with a smaller footprint. And U.S. troops are still fighting and dying there: On the same day as Klein’s tweet, the remains of Army Maj. Brent Taylor touched down at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware; he was killed Saturday in Afghanistan, leaving behind a wife and seven children.

Webmaster's Commentary:

From his abysmally tone-deaf evaluation that "the US is not at war", This man must be a Common Core graduate, because he demonstrates absolutely zero ability to do any critical thinking about what he doesn't see in the corporate media, and because of it, is a very "useful idiot" for the American Deep State.

Mohammed Bin Salman: Too Big To Fail

A month after the murder of Jamal Khashoggi at the Saudi Arabian consulate in Istanbul, an international consensus is emerging about how to respond: deplore the crime, demand justice, but don’t cut ties with the kingdom. In particular, don’t cut off Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the man widely believed to have ordered the killing of the dissident journalist.

The ambitious, impetuous crown prince, known as MbS, is probably damaged goods as a person. He’s unlikely to receive another lavish welcome in Silicon Valley any time soon. But he has become the diplomatic equivalent of some big banks: too big to fail.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Looking at the lack of consequences after the assassination happened, (not to mention the thousands of dead and dying, courtesy of Saudi Arabia's invasion of Yemen), I think Lippman is entirely correct in his assessment.

Yemen Peace Talks Delayed as Saudi Backed Assault Continues

The US demand for an immediate ceasefire in Yemen never happened, with US-backed factions continuing to attack the port city of Hodeidah. US promises of Yemen peace talks in November are also now being postponed.

Officials are presenting the talks, despite initially being presented as happening some time this month, as being set for early December. Now, they say if the talks happen at all, it will be in late December.

Some diplomats are suggesting the postponement is because of concerns that the Houthis won’t show up. The Houthis did not attend the previous talks, because they could not get assurances from the Saudis that their delegation would be allowed to safely travel, and the US seems no more willing to offer such assurances.

Webmaster's Commentary:

With a huge offensive being planned for Hodeida Saudi baked forces announce a vast offensive to to take Hodeidah Port, The Saudis will not be happy with any peace from the Houthis, other than pure capitulation.

JUDICIAL WATCH SUES DOJ FOR RECORDS OF INVESTIGATIONS INTO THE AWAN BROTHERS, CONGRESSIONAL DEMOCRAT IT SCANDAL

Judicial Watch announced today that it filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit against the Justice Department for all records of communications relating to the investigation into former Democratic information technology (IT) staffers Abid Awan, Imran Awan, Jamal Awan and Hina R. Alvi (Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of Justice (No. 1:18-cv-02563)).

Imran Awan and his family were banned from the House computer network in February 2017 after the House’s top law enforcement officer wrote that Imran is “an ongoing and serious risk to the House of Representatives, possibly threatening the integrity of our information systems,” and that a server containing evidence had gone “missing.” The inspector general said server logs showed “unauthorized access” and procurement records were falsified.

DEMOCRATIC HOUSE HURTS SPACE CORPS, NUKE MODERNIZATION, & PENTAGON TOPLINE

WASHINGTON: The Democrats’ recapturing the House means three major impacts on the Defense Department: The odds are that controversial Trump priorities like new nuclear weapons and a Space Force will go nowhere, defense budgets will go down, and oversight will go up, up, up.

Program winners and losers

The most likely losers are nuclear modernization programs, which leading Democrats like Adam Smith, the prospective House Armed Services Committee chairman, have criticized as unnecessary, excessive, and destabilizing.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I would POLITELY invite every Democrat who doesn't get how seriously behind the curve the US in its weaponry, to read the following article from blacklistednews.com:

D.C. BUREAUCRATS ARE TRYING TO MAKE PARENTS GET A LICENSE TO LET CHILDREN PLAY TOGETHER

Let’s say you and some of your friends decide to gather your young children together a couple of days a week for a few hours of free play. Maybe you switch off who leads the gaggle of kids each week, allowing for some shared free time and flexibility. Sounds like a great arrangement for all, right? Your kids get to play freely with their friends, and you get some occasional free babysitting.

According to government officials in Washington, DC, arrangements like this are violations of the law. They are cracking down on what they call an illegal “child development facility” operating without a license.

U.S. GAVE MILITARY JEEPS TO GUATEMALA TO FIGHT DRUG TRAFFICKING. INSTEAD, THEY WERE USED TO INTIMIDATE AN ANTI-CORRUPTION COMMISSION.

THE ARMORED JEEPS were lined up single file along a Guatemala City street on August 31 in an ominous queue. By mid-morning, images began circulating of the jeeps outside the offices of a U.N.-backed anti-corruption commission that has played a key role in bringing down corrupt officials. More jeeps were spotted in the vicinity of the National Palace, along with military personnel. In a country with a not-so-distant past of military coups and massacres, the photographs and videos spread like wildfire, raising alarm as people scrambled to find out what was going on.

To Feliciana Macario, the show of force evoked the worst years of military rule in Guatemala, during the 36-year armed conflict between the U.S.-backed military and paramilitary forces and left-wing guerrilla groups. Macario is one of the national coordinators of CONAVIGUA, a national human rights organization founded by women whose husbands were killed or disappeared during the conflict.

How the CDC Uses Fear to Increase Demand for Flu Vaccines

The CDC claims that its recommendation that everyone aged six months and up should get an annual flu shot is firmly grounded in science. The mainstream media reinforce this characterization by misinforming the public about what the science says.

A New York Times article from earlier this year, for example, in order to persuade readers to follow the CDC’s recommendation, cited scientific literature reviews of the prestigious Cochrane Collaboration to support its characterization of the influenza vaccine as both effective and safe. The Times claimed that the science showed that the vaccine represented “a big payoff in public health” and that harms from the vaccine were “almost nonexistent”.

Webmaster's Commentary:

What people do not understand about the CDC, is that it is a private corporation, with multiple patents on products, and not an arm of the US government.

UN FOOD STORAGE FACILITY TARGETED AS SAUDI TROOPS ADVANCE ON HODEIDA

At least 15 civilians were killed on Thursday after Saudi-led coalition aircraft and artillery carried out strikes against a residential area in Yemen’s strategic western province of Hodeida and the border areas of Sadaa.

A local source told MintPress News that Saudi jets conducted airstrikes against the al-Jabaliyah area in the al-Tuheita district in southern Hodeida on Thursday afternoon, killing 45-year-old Hassan al Ameri and his four daughters Sumiah, Hunood, Laila and Hend, who ranged in age from eight months to nine years old. Al Ameri’s twelve-year-old son, Ali, was also killed in the attack.

On Friday, three women were killed when Saudi border guards targeted their village in the Razeh district with artillery fire. The village has been under intensive artillery and missile attack since the Saudi-led coalition, supported by the United States, renewed its large-scale offensive weeks ago.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am frankly waiting for the Butcher of Yemen (AKA, Saudi Crown Prince Bin Salman) to order a carpet bombing of all civilians left at Hodeida, but leaving the port infrastructure intact.

WHY THE U.S. MILITARY IS WOEFULLY UNPREPARED FOR A MAJOR CONVENTIONAL CONFLICT

While Secretary Mattis describes the “near peer” nations China and Russia as “revisionist powers”, it was not these nations that made the irresponsible and reckless decisions that have weakened the U.S. military establishment, nor aim to revise the ill-conceived and executed catastrophes of their American “peers”.

They have reached a state of military and technological parity with, and in many cases a position of superiority vis a vis the United States, because they exercised better judgement over the past two decades, invested their time, talent and treasure in developing powerful conventional and nuclear forces, and refrained from using their national defense assets to punish their perceived adversaries in such a way that more damage was caused to themselves.

APPLE'S WAR ON REPAIR CONTINUES: AMAZON NOW BANS REFURB APPLE PRODUCTS FROM THIRD PARTIES

Apple has long understood that hardware products that last a long time result in falling unit sales, as customers opt to keep their old machines instead of buying the latest models; that's part of why the company led the charge that killed every single Right to Repair bill introduced last year -- less repairs leads to more "recycling," which is Applespeak for dropping used units into giant shredders without harvesting any usable parts first.

Every year, refurbishers rescue thousands of used Apple products from the e-waste streams, and every year, Apple finds new ways to frustrate their efforts.

The latest wrinkle: Apple has gotten Amazon to agree to ban the sale of refurbished Apple products except those that come from Apple directly.

Aaron Perzanowski, a law professor at Case Western Reserve University and coauthor of The End of Ownership, told me in an email that this decision is a dangerous infringement of ownership rights.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Just what America needed in this rapidly tightening economy; a gigantic, dystopian corporation, ready to cause Americans as much fiscal pain as possible by refusing the right of owners to refurbish.

REWARD OFFERED IN THE MYSTERIOUS KILLING OF FORMER WORLD BANK ECONOMIST

The police and family of Johan de Leede have announced a new reward for information concerning the mysterious killing of 83-year old de Leede, a retired World Bank economist, in his Fairfax County home around 1 a.m. on March 11, 2016.

Someone shot and killed him from outside a living room window and vanished into the night.

The case is all the more baffling because de Leede was living a quiet life, tending to his garden and sailing at his home on an idyllic stretch of the Potomac River on the Mason Neck Peninsula near Lorton, Va. He was surrounded by a large family.

And so it was on March 11, 2016. Johan de Leede had enjoyed a meal with his wife and house guests that Friday night. Family members said everyone except him had gone to bed around 11:30 p.m. He had settled into a chair in his living room with a banana and a warm glass of milk, his nightly ritual. Around 1 a.m., his wife awoke to the sound of gunfire...

Webmaster's Commentary:

Whatever he had gained information on, was apparently explosive enough to get him assassinated in his own home.

One has to wonder; what was going south in the world of the World Bank, right around this time?!?

Could it have been the intimate knowledge of what was happening here, and why?!?

Is Jim Young Kim destroying the World Bank?!?
We can only speculate; but someone did NOT want Johan de Leede to share, in any way, what privileged information he may have had.

RUSSIA DEPLOYS ITS AVANGARD GLIDE VEHICLE – THE UNMATCHED LEADER IN HYPERSONIC TECHNOLOGY

The boost-glide weapon can fly at speeds of over Mach 20 or about 15,300 miles per hour (four miles per second). It could reach Washington in 15 minutes even if launched from Russia. There is no way to intercept it, as it moves in a cloud of plasma “like a meteorite.” The weapon is distinctive for its ability to withstand extreme heat during the final phase of its trajectory thanks to its heat-resistant titanium casing. Its in-flight temperature reaches 1,600-2,000° Celsius.

It is impossible to predict the direction of its approach. Installed on the 200-ton Sarmat, the Avangard could be sent into the desired orbit at an altitude of 100 km from Earth using a pre-booster, gliding to its target at a speed of Mach 20 (5-7 km/s) while maneuvering with the help of stabilizers. It can make rapid course changes in the atmosphere. Its signatures are quite different from those of traditional ICBMs. Advanced countermeasure systems increase its ability to penetrate missile defenses.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The problem here is not that Russia has this technology; the problem is that the US weaponry makers have no defense against it.

And how did that happen?!?

Due to an horrific combination of generous contributions to both sides of the aisle by the military industrial complex, and an absolute lethargy on the part of this industry, when it actually came to beating the Russians at their own defense game.

One would think that with all the money this country spends on weapons systems, that there would be ... at least something in the Avangard's class, developed years ago by US weapons makers; but there is not, leaving this country thoroughly defenseless against its deployment.

And THAT, on the part of both Congress, and the military industrial complex, is utterly criminal.

US Hopes Russia Will Allow Israel to Bomb Iranian Forces in Syria

The US is seeking to push all foreign military forces from Syria, the US ambassador to the country said. Besides Russian ones, of course.

US Ambassador to Syria James Jeffrey said Wednesday that Washington hopes Russia will allow Israeli forces to bomb Iranian military forces in Syrian territory after the delivery of S-300 air defense systems.

"Russia has been permissive, in consultation with the Israelis, about Israeli strikes against Iranian targets inside Syria. We certainly hope that that permissive approach will continue," Jeffrey said during a press conference, according to Business Insider.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I don't know the Russian translation of "no way!" is, but I am hoping that is what the Russians will tell the Israelis.

Should such a thing happen, if an Israeli plane is able to "take out" one of the S-300 systems, you will most likely find the Russian forces in hot, military pursuit.

And of course, the US would have to defend Israel, militarily, in Syria, so the danger may be both real and critically and far beyond any way of "defusing" of the situation.

Israel Seeks Closer Cooperation with Gulf States over Fears of Iran – Report

The visit of Israeli Transportation and Intelligence Minister Yisrael Katz to Oman earlier this week has signaled a change of policy in the region, observers say.

Earlier this week, Katz arrived in Oman — reportedly to propose a new railway project that would connect Israel's Haifa to the Persian Gulf through Jordan and Saudi Arabia.

During his visit, he also called for stronger relations with the Persian Gulf Arab states in civilian sectors such as transportation, commercial aviation and tourism, PressTV reports.

The trip was one more in a chain of visits by Israeli officials to Gulf States — the most important of which was the surprise visit of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to Oman several weeks earlier.

Saudi-Led Coalition in Yemen Asks US to Stop Refueling Its Aircraft - Reports

The Trump administration is ending the practice of air refueling Saudi-coalition aircraft and its decision is expected to be made public in the next few days, US media reported.

The decision would end a tangible and controversial aspect of US support for the Saudi coalition’s war in Yemen, the Washington Post newspaper said on Friday.

Iran's Leadership Must Decide "If They Want Their People To Eat" - Pompeo

Less than a week after US Secretary of State Secretary Mike Pompeo told Fox News Sunday that the "Iranians are responsible for the starvation' of Yemeni civilians" he's again issued hugely provocative words, telling the BBC during an interview that Iranian "leadership has to make a decision that they want their people to eat" in reference to the latest round of US sanctions.

As the interview was with BBC Persian, Pompeo's words were immediately translated from English and broadcast to the Iranian public through BBC's Persian-language publication. Pompeo repeated his theme that Iran is the world's foremost state sponsor of terror and a "destabilizing influence" in the Middle East while ultimately blaming the country's economic suffering on the intransigence of the country's leaders.

Webmaster's Commentary:

That this guy can stand there and lie, while people in Yemen continue to die, due to US/Saudi war crimes, including bombing sorties; the creation of starvation through blockading Yemen's ports, and destroying the water infrastructure, allowing thousands of Yemeni to die of cholera, must be an amazing gift in the wacky world of DC.

Sorry, Mike, but as long as you are going to continue to lie about the situation on the ground, I will stay compelled, as a Christian pacifist activist, to document what the US/Saudi war against Yemen is actually doing. (warning: very graphic images):

Images: Yemeni children dead and maimed for life, courtesy of US-enabled bombing runs

Images: Yemeni children dying from malnutrition, courtesy of US Military-enabled Saudi Yemen port blockade

Images: Yemeni children treated for, and dying of cholera, possibly weaponized

Notice that none of the presstitutes and warmongers on corporate media are not saying a word about the Saudi genocide in Yemen, which is why I must.

Trump Reportedly Wants To Replace Ross By Year End

Update: Adding to speculation that Ross's time in Trump's cabinet is coming to a close, Bloomberg has reported that Trump has been telling friends that he wants to replace Ross by year's end.

Just two days after President Trump ousted Attorney General Jeff Sessions, Politico is reporting that Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross might be the next cabinet official to leave the administration as part of Trump's widely expected cabinet reshuffle.

Trump has reportedly grown frustrated with Ross over reports of his unsavory and ruthless business practices as well as his perceived ineptitude in negotiating trade deals. The president has repeatedly humiliated Ross in front of other administration officials, and accused him of being "past his prime," according to Bob Woodward's book "Fear."

Buchanan: The War For The Soul Of America

The war in Washington will not end until the presidency of Donald Trump ends. Everyone seems to sense that now.

This is a fight to the finish.

A postelection truce that began with Trump congratulating House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi — “I give her a great deal of credit for what she’s done and what she’s accomplished” — was ancient history by nightfall.

With the forced resignation of Attorney General Jeff Sessions and his replacement by his chief of staff, Matthew Whitaker, the long-anticipated confrontation with Robert Mueller appears at hand.

Sessions had recused himself from the oversight role of the special counsel’s investigation into Russiagate. Whitaker has definitely not.

Before joining Justice, he said that the Mueller probe was overreaching, going places it had no authority to go, and that it could be leashed by a new attorney general and starved of funds until it passes away.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Amen to that, Pat Buchanan, Amen!!

Hedge Funds Brace For A November 15 Bloodbath

A few weeks ago, we reported that even when the market was hitting all time highs ahead of the historic October bloodbath, hedge fund investors were growing increasingly nervous, and rushed to redeem $15 billion from the space in September, the largest single monthly outflow in years, bringing year-to-date net flows to flat after being stubbornly in the green for much of the year despite what has been another deplorable year for hedge funds.

This was not the first time either: over the last three years, investors had removed over $100 billion from the industry, but performance gains had offset these losses... at least until last month.

And then October came which was not only a "bloodbath across almost every strategy", but was the worst month for hedge funds in 7 years.

BBC Arabic reports based an exclusive Jerusalem Post story that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman told a group of Evangelical leaders who met with him in Riyadh earlier this month there was a recent plot to assassinate him, and that the plan was thwarted by Egyptian intelligence.

The Jerusalem Post first broke the story this week based on accounts of the returning Evangelical delegation who met with the crown prince on November 1. Joel Rosenberg, who led the delegation of American Evangelical Christians said MbS relayed that the head of Egyptian intelligence recently came to Riyadh to inform Saudi authorities that a terrorist cell with Saudi citizens had been caught in northern Sinai. “They were planning to assassinate me,” MbS told the American delegation.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I cannot decide if this is Prince Bin Salman "jumping the shark" with this story, or if it is a pitiful bid for sympathy, to deflect both from his unrelenting "scorched earth" policy in Yemen, and the assassination of Khashoggi.

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg Will Retire from the US Supreme Court in January, 2019

While the Nation is preoccupied with the appointment of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to replace Justice Anthony Kennedy, it appears there will soon be another vacancy on the US Supreme Court

U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has had a re-occurrence of malignant melanoma, she has told her law clerks. Ginsburg was treated in 1999 for colon cancer and had surgery in 2009 for pancreatic cancer.

She has told key Democratic members of the Senate about her medical condition, including ranking Democratic member of the Judiciary Committee Dianne Feinstein. This explains in part the "take no prisoners" attitude of the Democrats during the Kavanaugh nomination, carefully orchestrating weak 37 year old allegations against Kavanaugh by Women he barely remembers knowing in High School and College.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Sad for Ruth Bader Ginsberg, But I hope and pray that President Trump's team is putting together a list of judges which are "bullet proof" from a standpoint of the Dems issuing nasty, untrue allegations this time.

Wall Street Seems To Believe That Endless Gridlock And Political Turmoil Will Be Good For America

Many had been hoping that the midterm elections would resolve much of the political tension in this country, but instead it looks like things are going to continue escalating quickly. -- And it isn’t going to take very much at all to unleash major civil unrest. The left already hates Trump more than any other president in American history, and one really bad move could set off an explosion of anger unlike anything we have ever seen before. -- My friends, these are dark times, and I have a feeling that they are about to get a whole lot darker.

Giving Food to the Homeless Shouldn’t Be a Crime

Government has long been characterized as inept. It’s easy to forget that sometimes it can be downright cruel. -- The latest example comes from Missouri, where the Kansas City Health Department is under fire after employees bleached food intended for the homeless because the people supplying it did not have the proper permit.

Millions in Yemen Are Starving and UK, US and France Are ‘Behind This’: Oxfam Representative

he US, UK, and French governments are behind millions of people starving in Yemen because they are “supporting this war,” an Oxfam representative told RT, urging London to stop beefing up Saudi Arabia’s military.

“We have 14 million people starving,” Richard Stanforth, Oxfam UK’s regional policy officer for the Middle East, said.

British, French, American governments are all behind this, they are all supporting this war.

Stanforth blamed the British government in particular, saying that London should stop its arms sales to Saudi Arabia, which is accused of targeting food supplies and even no-strike locations in Yemen.

“We’ve seen attacks on water infrastructure, on hospitals, warehouses of food. This pattern is continuing. Certainly, it’s the airstrikes that are killing most civilians,” he said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Even with all the positive publicity about Oxfam, I sincerely hope and pray that Richard Stanforth is wearing his Kevlar undies; the people signing those arms deals, including the US's Merchant of Death in Chief, aka Donald Trump, doesn't like the world really seeing what happens to the arms they are selling Saudi Arabia.

UK Government Goes Full Orwellian. DNA, Fingerprint, Face, Voice: Biometric Data for Every Single Citizen in the UK

We’ve been warning about this moment since the first day TruePublica went online. We said that the government would eventually take the biometric data of every single citizen living in Britain and use it for nefarious reasons. DNA, fingerprint, face, and even voice data will be included. But that’s not all.

The excuse to be used, as ever, will be national security or terrorism, despite the huge fall in fatalities from terrorism and terror-related incidents since the 1970s.

Apart from crime-fighting, the Home Office also proposes in its long-awaited report that it will use the centralized database for vetting migrants on the streets and borders of Britain.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It appears that the government of the UK is not considering "1984" as a cautionary tale, but as a how-to manual.

Fox News Promotes RFID For Medical Purposes — Here’s Why You Shouldn’t Take The Chip

The article then goes onto explain how awesome it is to have a chip in one’s hand, stating that those chipped can open secure doors, pay for tickets, and share emergency medical information.

Years ago, it was seen as a “conspiracy theory” that the elite wanted to microchip the populace. Now, it’s right in our faces constantly; it’s no longer a secret. I’ll start by repeating the words of the great Aaron Russo, Rockefeller’s best friend: “Do not take the chip.”

In any event, this isn’t the only way they are trying to push people to get the chip. Over the years there have been various commercials trying to push the chip. One showing a concert, another showing a doctor using it to diagnose patients’ disorders, and several other mentions of the chip in the media.

However, a story this writer will never forget is about a Saudi inventor that had a “brilliant idea” to make a chip with a lethal dose of cyanide in it.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Getting "tagged" like cattle or pets, is always about you being controlled, period, end of discussion. Just don't do it, because you will never know what the monied will want to do with you, after getting chipped, until it is too late.

US Issues New Russia Sanctions Over Profiting on Crimean Resort

he US Treasury Department has announced a new round of sanctions being imposed against targets inside Russia, mostly related to investments in a successful and profitable hotel and resort on the Crimean Peninsula.

US officials are saying they will sanction all who profit from the annexation of Crimea. Crimea was struggling as a semi-autonomous part of Ukraine, and even though infrastructure work is still underway to connect Crimea to Russia, the Black Sea coast is an attractive tourist destination for Russians, and Crimea has a lot of coastline.

Those listed in this latest flurry of sanctions were tied to the Mriya Resort and Spa in the southern Crimean city of Yalta. The high-end hotel location is being funded by Sberbank, one of Russia’s major banks.

Webmaster's Commentary:

President Trump, a word, please; The world knows that Russia did not annex Crimea.

Perhaps you are having a difficult spell of SMD, (selective memory disorder), so let me re-orient you to 2014 in my exclusive way-back machine.

This was the year when the duly elected president of Ukraine, Yanukovych, was deposed in a US/World Bank coup, thrown under the proverbial bus, and Poroshenko was installed as President.

You might remember (or most probably don't that even President Barak Obama, made a very public announcement in an interview that the US was definitely a part of that coup.

Obama admits US complicity in Kiev coup

President Obama admits to US complicity in Kiev Coup

You probably do not know, Mr. President, that Crimea had been part of Russia until Russian President Nikita S. Khrushchev, annexed it to Ukraine in the late 50s, as he himself was Ukrainian.

Well, the Crimeans understood very clearly that there was no true, representative in Kiev to whom they could turn. So they did something amazing.

They voted, in a free and fair referendum, to ask the Crimean people if they wanted to stay with Ukraine, or petition the Russian Federation to join it, and overwhelmingly, the Crimean people voted to ask to join the Russian Federation, and their petition was granted.

You may recall, sir, that the US is a signatory to the UN Charter, which guarantees people the right to peaceful-self-determination; this is precisely what the Crimean people did, yet the US government refuses to accept what the Crimean people have done here.

Attempting to punish Russia for something it absolutely did not do, and lying about what really went down, makes the optics on this new sanctioning look really ugly, and punishing countries for what they have not done, is a very ugly way of having to deal with blowback.

Iceland’s Christmas ad banned for being ‘too political’

Discount supermarket chain Iceland is facing off with UK ads regulator Clearcast over a Christmas ad campaign which has been banned from TV for being too political.

The animated short, originally destined to be an ad for environmental advocacy group Greenpeace, features a young girl and an orangutan that has been displaced from its rainforest home by loggers, ostensibly working on behalf of the palm oil industry.

However the now-banned advert, which was voiced by actor Emma Thompson, was deemed to be in breach of political impartiality rules set out in the 2003 Communications Act which prohibits advertisements that are “directed towards a political end.”

Disregard for world opinion defines the US government

ast week, the United Nations General Assembly voted overwhelmingly to condemn the US embargo against Cuba. A total of 189 member-nations said Cuba did not deserve this embargo, which began in 1961 and has continued unabated to this day. Only two countries – the United States and Israel – voted against the motion. No country abstained.

Cuba’s minister for foreign affairs, Bruno Eduardo Rodríguez Parrilla, has said the US embargo has cost the small socialist island state upwards of US$933.678 billion, with the losses in the past year amounting to $4.3 billion (twice the amount of foreign direct investment into the island). This embargo, Rodriguez Parrilla said as he put the resolution forward, is an “act of genocide” against Cuba and its people.

Webmaster's Commentary:

A Badge of Shame: The Government’s War on America’s Military Veterans

Despite the fact that the U.S. boasts more than 20 million veterans who have served in World War II through the present day, the plight of veterans today is America’s badge of shame, with large numbers of veterans impoverished, unemployed, traumatized mentally and physically, struggling with depression, suicide, and marital stress, homeless, subjected to sub-par treatment at clinics and hospitals, and left to molder while their paperwork piles up within Veterans Administration offices.

Still, the government’s efforts to wage war on veterans, especially those who speak out against government wrongdoing, is downright appalling.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Absoflippinglutely unbelievable, but perfectly predictable from this government!! Criminalizing, if you will, "branding" psychological or physical problems in this way, is blatantly cruel, as though these people haven't suffered enough.

Trump Administration Considers Declaring Yemen’s Houthis ‘Terrorists’

Just weeks after promising to back a peace effort in Yemen, the Trump Administration is reportedly considering labeling the Shi’ite Houthi movement in northern Yemen, one of the principal forces, a terrorist organization.

The move appears unrelated to US policy in Yemen itself. Rather, it reflects the Trump Administration’s desire to go after perceived Iranian allies. Saudi Arabia, who is attacking the Houthis, has accused them of being in league with Iran.

In reality, the Houthis have always had limited connections to Iran. But making them a US-labeled terrorist group would not only greatly undermine the Houthis, it would complicate the peace talks to the point of making them nearly impossible.

Perhaps even worse, a terrorist label would make it even harder to deliver humanitarian aid into northern Yemen.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It is glaringly apparent that neither President Trump, nor one of his BFFs in the Middle East, the Butcher of Yemen, aka Crown Prince Bin Salman, do not want peace, but to continue the horrific war, in which the US is enabling Saudi war crimes.

Such a declaration will also accelerate making aid more impossible to get to starving Yemeni people, and contribute to more children gunned down in Saudi raids, starving to death, and vulnerable to cholera.

This is precisely where the US and the Saudi leadership wants the Yemeni people to be.

US Embassy in Kiev urges Donbass residents to boycott November 11 electionsMore:http://tass.com/world/1029786?_ga=2.250415046.1166740155.1541565329-363929275.1477368173

The self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics will elect heads of government on November 11

The US Embassy in Ukraine has urged residents of eastern Ukraine to boycott the elections of heads of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republic (DPR and LPR) scheduled for November 11.

The announcement of the local elections scheduled for November 11 was condemned by Kiev and described as the violation of Ukrainian laws and of the Minsk Agreements. The West supported Kiev. On October 30, the US, France, the UK, Sweden, the Netherlands and Poland initiated the discussion of the upcoming Donbass election at the UN Security Council session, calling them illegal. At the same time, UN SC members ignored Russia's suggestion to invite representatives of the self-proclaimed republics to the session.

DPR and LPR stress, however, that holding elections is aimed at preventing power vacuum in the self-proclaimed republics and ensuring security of local residents.

Webmaster's Commentary:

OK, Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch, and Deputy Chief of Mission Pamela Tremont, who head up the US consulate in Kiev, kindly cool your jets, please!

It appears that both of you (as well as our President) have collectively and conveniently forgotten that the US is a signator to the UN Charter, which specifically states, in Article 1, Section 2: "To develop friendly relations among nations based on respect for the principle of equal rights and self-determination of peoples, and to take other appropriate measures to strengthen universal peace;"

By telling the people of DPR and LPR that such an election is meaningless, a sham, and illegal, the US is now attempting to evade its moral responsibility to these people, and do something which is absolutely the the polar opposite of the intention of the UN charter, a document to which the US, Russia and Ukraine are all signators.

It appears that the US wants to halt this exercise in self-determination, because it does not suit them or Ukraine.

Selective enforcement of the UN Charter, which the US is attempting to do in this manner, is looking very ugly right now; the optics are officially horrible, and I am calling both Ambassador Yovanovitch and Deputy Chief Tremont out on this, as politely as I possibly can.

DC POLICE INVESTIGATING MOB’S PROTEST AT TUCKER CARLSON’S HOUSE AS ‘SUSPECTED HATE CRIME’

D.C. police are investigating the mob that protested outside Fox News host Tucker Carlson’s house Wednesday evening as an anti-political hate crime, according to a police report obtained by The Daily Caller News Foundation.
An anarchy symbol was spray painted on Carlson’s driveway, and signs making reference to Carlson’s political affiliation were left on his front door and on vehicles on his drive way, according to the report.
A co-founder of the group behind the protest, Smash Racism DC, appeared on Carlson’s Fox News show in September 2017.
D.C. police are investigating a left-wing mob’s protest at Fox News host Tucker Carlson’s house Wednesday evening as a ‘suspected hate crime‘ with ‘anti-political’ motivations, according to a police report obtained by The Daily Caller News Foundation. (RELATED: FOX NEWS CEO, PRESIDENT SLAM ‘REPREHENSIBLE’ ANTIFA MOB TARGETING TUCKER CARLSON’S HOUSE)

Webmaster's Commentary:

This was just disgusting, and has no place in civilized society.

There are moments when Mr. Carlson and I do not see eye to eye on a number of issues, but I would expect that we both, as decent human beings, be able make our points understood, using logic and reason as our weapons, without ever resorting to physical violence.

But then again, the Antifa folks, Maxine Waters included, may not be the brightest bulbs in the closet, and because they are collective intellectually bereft of any common sense or logic whatsoever, have absolutely no clue as to the degree to which they are being used and manipulated by the Leftistas in this country.

Would any of the uber-rich have been down there for one second, perhaps a Hillary Clinton, or a Barak Obama, or Barbara Streisand?!?

HELL, no; they expect their poor, little, deluded minions to do the "dirty work", and act out their rage for them, at a safe distance, while putting people's lives- and families - at risk.

Prayers for this guy's family, I think, are in order right now. But prayers also for the people manipulating these ignorant souls to do this kind of violence, because the Federal Government is well-positioned to terminate such behaviour "with extreme prejudice", if they feel like it.

And from Breitbart, we have a companion piece: NYC 9/11 "Top Cop", Bernard Kerik, has stated that Antifa should be treated as a domestic terror group

After this incident with the Carlsons, I would tend to agree with him.

Not Going to Let it Happen': Haley Vows to Stop Russia Lifting DPRK Sanctions

US Envoy to the United Nations Nikki Haley said Thursday that Moscow wants to lift banking sanctions on North Korea put in place to try to curb Pyongyang's nuclear program, but the United States would not let that happen, Reuters reported.

"What they're looking for is to lift banking restrictions… So now we know what their agenda is, we know exactly why they're trying to do it and we're not going to let it happen," Haley said after a closed-door security council meeting on North Korea sanctions, as quoted by Reuters. Russia's envoy was also in attendance at the meeting.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Now, I have to wonder; just what is Ambassador Haley prepared to do to prevent this (which, BTW, would be a very logical thing for the US to do, to express good faith to Kim Jung Un), invade Russia and North Korea all by herself?!?

Apply more sanctions to both countries?!?

The bag of tricks she has, has already been pretty much emptied, due to a certain, collective tone-deafness by those in the Bowels of Power in DC with regard to both North Korea and Russia.

And as a working choral conductor, I cannot begin to tell you how much I HATE tone-dearness!!

FRANCE SUPPORTING IRAN AGAINST US ‘TRADE POLICEMAN’

France has vowed to fulfill plans to defy the US’ sanctions on Iran while increasing the international role of the euro in order to prevent Washington from acting as the world’s “trade policeman”.

France’s Minister of Economy and Finance, Bruno Le Maire, told the British newspaper Financial Times that Europe is planning the formation of a special financial channel to Iran in order to keep trade flowing with the country and assure its own “economic sovereignty”, with the aim of making the euro as powerful as the dollar.

“Europe refuses to allow the US to be the trade policeman of the world,” Le Maire stated in an interview in Brussels, emphasising that Europe must “affirm our sovereignty” in regards to the US sanctions on Iran and its wider economic hegemony.

Webmaster's Commentary:

These sanctions placed by the US, are beginning to blow up in President Trump's face, somewhat akin to the actions of a bad trick cigar.

So, what does President Trump intend to do with those countries who will not observe the sanctions, go to war against them?!?

In withdrawing from the P5 +1 agreement, plus his never-ending sanctions against Russia and China, President Trump has set this country up for some really intense economic challenges, for which I do not believe he has any clue as to how to alleviate.

Just ask any American soybean farmer as China has stopped buy American soybeans:

Their Soybeans Piling Up, Farmers Hope Trade War Ends Before Beans Rot

Rather than punishing Iran, Russia and China, President Trump should be engaging the leadership of all three countries in a positive, constructive way, because if human civilization is going to survive on this planet, that has to come from universal cooperation, one country with the other, and the elimination of war as "the only way" in which DC resolves its geopolitical and financial issues.

WITH NEW PATENTS FACEBOOK BRINGS US ONE STEP CLOSE TO A DYSTOPIAN FUTURE

This year Facebook filed two very interesting patents in the US. One was a patent for emotion recognition technology; which recognises human emotions through facial expressions and so can therefore assess what mood we are in at any given time-happy or anxious for example. This can be done either by a webcam or through a phone cam. The technology is relatively straight forward. Artificially intelligent driven algorithms analyses and then deciphers facial expressions, it then matches the duration and intensity of the expression with a corresponding emotion. Take contempt for example. Measured by a range of values from 0 to 100, an expression of contempt could be measured by a smirking smile, a furrowed brow and a wrinkled nose. An emotion can then be extrapolated from the data linking it to your dominant personality traits: openness, introverted, neurotic, say.

Webmaster's Commentary:

But what happens when these algorithms get something horrifically wrong?!?
Where is the evaluating human "common sense" factor in working with these predictors?!?

Are we now looking at "trial by expression" as we try to get on our way, by every public transport, trains, buses, and plains?!?

Mike and I live here on Oahu, so must use planes to get anywhere on the mainland.

My late Dad was an aircraft instrument mechanic, and I used to love to fly, because I naively thought that every other instrument mechanic paid as much attention as my Dad did to insuring that an instrument calibrated out perfectly before he signed off on it.

Now, I hate the experience, and the arrival of the "Grope-Nazis" (allegedly for our "protection"), has made travel off-island a singularly unpleasant experience.

And remember; the people who invented the whole "terror, terror, terror" mentality in the Bush era, like good old Michael Chertoff, the co-author of the US Patriot Act, and the 2nd Director of US Homeland Security, rarely have to take public transportation, and now make a killing, selling the equipment through which one has to pass through to in order to get on the aircraft, or bus, or train.

RUSSIA & CHINA INVEST IN INFRASTRUCTURE; U.S. INSTEAD SPENDS ON MILITARY

China’s “Belt and Road Initiative” is famous as an extension of their domestic infrastructure investments, but Russia is also investing heavily in infrastructure. Both countries need to do it in order to improve the future for their respective populations, and both Governments have avoided the Western development model of going heavily into debt in order to pay for creating and maintaining infrastructure. Both are, in fact, exceptionally low-debt Governments.

According to the “Global Debt Clock” at Economist, China has a public debt/GDP of 17.7%, and Russia’s is 8.0%. For comparison, America’s is 93.6%. (Others are: Germany 85.8%, Spain 91.2%, Italy 122.6%, Greece 147.1%, India 54.2%, Pakistan 47.0%, and Brazil 55.0%.)

Webmaster's Commentary:

Unfortunately for Russia and China, there are folks in the bowels of power in DC who are very urgently preparing for just such a war between the US, Russia, and China. As reported last year by Paul Craig Roberts:

Washington plans a nuclear strike on Russia and China

This is no fluke, and Roberts is just about as serious in this reporting as is a heart attack. His credibility, as a conservative observer of geopolitics, is rarely wrong.

Right now, we are looking at one of NATO's biggest exercises in Europe taking place, NATO holding its biggest exercises sing the Cold War,and a joint US/Japanese plan to do "Freedom of Navigation" exercises in the South China Sea next spring.

US, Japan plan a military response to Chinese incursions of disputed islands, plans for which are getting finalized this coming March.

I would suggest that the phrase "March Madness" may have an entirely new meaning, should those exercises be signed off on, and realized by both countries.

And I say that because a US-generated war with Russia (and/or China) would horrifically reflect the madness of this country's leadership, in not realising that war with these countries may not be winnable, because the US military doesn't have the money, the troop strength, the manufacturing, or the weaponry to insure a positive outcome for the US.

RUSSIA DEPLOYS ITS AVANGARD HYPERSONIC GLIDE VEHICLE

On Oct. 12 CNBC reported that Russia had hit a snag in its development of its hypersonic weapon, because it was at the time unable to find a source for the critical carbon fiber components. The news agency stated that the Pentagon had doubts that the Avangard hypersonic glide vehicle (HGV) existed. Skepticism seems widespread. Some believe that Russia’s new super weapons are “virtual reality,” while others think they are “mostly hype.” In March, the National Interest cited Michael Kofman, a research scientist for the Center for Naval Analyses and a highly respected analyst, who offered his assurances that there was no chance Russia could field its hypervelocity boost-glide weapon by 2019. But history has shown that those who believed it to be just a bluff have been proven wrong.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The problem is not that the Russians have this capability; the question is, why does the US military complex not have it, in fact, in several phases ahead of the Russians?!?

The reasons here are very complex.

First, there is a very much "too cosy" relationship between weapons manufacturers, who support political campaigns, and the politicians who have the power to sign off on huge weapons contracts.

Therefore, US weapons manufacturers believe they are free to offer weapons systems which are "glitchy" and do not perform as advertised; that they can deliver weapons systems so late as to be obsolete; and can have cost over-runs on everything which make the cost double, treble, or quadruple the original estimates.

This has to stop and immediately.

No contractor should have the right to "buy" those members of Congress who award weapons contracts, which allow the foregoing to happen.

Contracts for weapons systems must be based on merit, period, end of discussion.

And in the wording of said contracts, there needs to have a clause inserted that if the projects do not work as advertised (like Lockheed Martin's F-35), are delivered so late as to be obsolete; or run up massive cost over-runs, the executives of those companies will be tried for treason for failing to deliver as promised by a jury of their peers, and do hard jail time.

As absolutely draconian as this may sound, it may put an end to endangering our troops' lives with inferior weapons products.

JOURNALIST HUSNU MAHALLI GETS JAIL TERM FOR CALLING ERDOGAN 'DICTATOR'

Syrian-Turkish journalist Husnu Mahalli has been handed down a 29-month prison sentence on charges of “insulting the president” and a suspended 20-month sentence for “insulting government officials,” after calling President Recep Tayyip Erdogan “dictator”, online news outlet Diken reported on Thursday.

The veteran journalist, who writes columns in prominent opposition daily Sozcu, was arrested in December 2016 for “insulting government figures” over social media, in his columns and on TV. He was released pending trial by an Istanbul court a month later on the grounds that he was not likely to escape and the prison term sought against him was not considered lengthy.

In his defense during the sentencing hearing, Mahalli demanded his acquittal, stating that he was merely doing his job as a journalist. He said:

Three (3) Reasons Why Elections Don’t Matter by Doug "Uncola" Lynn

n so many ways, elections in America have become just another manifestation of bread and circuses; like watching a reality TV show when your house is on fire. It’s why this article was almost named:

“The Inevitableness of Reality Requires Honesty and Acceptance”

Of course, the 2018 Midterm Elections will be analyzed ad nauseam, with other writers and pundits parsing it better than this blogger. However, suffice it to say: There was no Blue Wave and Trump has now solidified leadership of his Republican Party; at least more so than during the last two years of his administration.

In a raucous press conference the day after, Trump claimed victory and said his party “defied history to expand our Senate majority”. The president also said his focus in the days prior to the election remained on the senate and pointed out that most of the candidates for whom he campaigned had won their respective races.

“Flashpoint for War”: U.S. and Japan Plan Military Response to Chinese Incursions of Disputed Islands

Things are again rapidly heating up in the East China Sea amidst already heightened tensions in a region where Washington is increasingly asserting the right of navigation in international waters against broad Chinese claims and seeking to defend the territorial possessions of its allies.

According to a bombshell new Reuters report the tiny and rocky Senkaku Islands which lie between northern Taiwan and the Japanese home islands are “rapidly turning into a flashpoint for war”. Alarmingly, Japanese government sources have been quoted as saying Tokyo and the United States are drawing up an operations plan for an allied military response to Chinese threats to the disputed Senkaku Islands.

From nearly the start of his entering the White House, President Trump has said he’s committed to upholding Article 5 of the US-Japan security treaty signed the post-war years of the mid-20th century:

Webmaster's Commentary:

This would be the most dangerous game of "chicken" ever played out by US and Japanese military service members against China; I would really like some thoughts emanating from the White House or State Department, indicating that such an action would never be undertaken.

However, unfortunately, I have lived long enough to understand that just because something is the most ham-fistedly, pig-headedly stupid thing the US government and military could possibly do, there is absolutely no guarantee that they will not do it.

The CIA’s Latest Greatest Failure

Communicating is the most vulnerable element in any foreign agent operation, particularly as counter-intelligence services commit major resources to cracking the systems used to link an agent in the field with his case officer or handler, who might be in the same country under diplomatic cover but just as easily might be in another nearby country or halfway around the world.

US, Turkey Risk Direct Military Clash as They Escalate War in Syria

As it pursues its war with US-backed Kurdish-nationalist organizations, the Turkish government is threatening an outright military occupation of large parts of Syria that could provoke war with Syria and a direct clash with US forces.

On Tuesday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan denounced joint patrols by US forces and Kurdish-led militias as “unacceptable.” Speaking to reporters in Ankara, he said:

“Not only can we not accept (the joint patrols), such a development will cause serious problems at the border.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

This looks as though the situation for the American military could get very dicey, very quickly, and particularly if the Russians start shelling American positions, and US troops retaliate.

But the bottom line here is, we shouldn't be in Syria in the first place! We were not invited, nor were the Turks; the Russians and Iranians were, and have been very successful in kicking out the jihadis.

Operation 'Enduring Defeat'? DoD Admits US May Need To "Stay In Iraq For Decades"

Why a self-reliant Iraqi military may take ‘years, if not decades’ and could require a ‘generation’ to reform.

Despite reports that the Islamic State terrorist group has lost 99 percent of its territory and shifted to insurgent tactics in Iraq and Syria, a recent report said an enduring defeat of the organization could take “years, if not decades.”

This, according to Department of Defense information provided to investigators with the DoD Inspector General, is in large part due to what is still needed to make Iraqi security forces “self-reliant.”

“Systemic weaknesses remain, many of which are the same deficiencies that enabled the rise of ISIS in 2014,” according to the quarterly IG report on Operation Inherent Resolve, the counter-ISIS operation that spans Iraq and Syria.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Dear Sec Def Mattis; has the DOD sent that memo to this effect to the gentleman now controlling the Iraqi Parliament, Muqtada al-Sadr?!?

Because if you don't remember him, please let me refresh your memory.

He was the guy who stated that if one American service member was found in Iraq any time after the date stipulated by the SOFA agreement, they were "fair game" for his Shiite militia, the Madhi Army in Iraq.

I would like to hope that someone in your group has read the following article, dated 15 May of this year, from the independent.co.uk:

Election success for Muqtada al-Sadr shows Iraqi voters shaking off foreign intervention

I understand that this election in May had to have been one of your worst nightmares.

But sir, how, in the name of Heaven, please, are you going to able to justify this continuing occupation to the new leadership of Iraq?!?

Wall Street Seems To Believe That Endless Gridlock And Political Turmoil Will Be Good For America

It is difficult not to admire the relentless optimism on Wall Street. A divided Congress is going to guarantee two years of gridlock and political turmoil in Washington, but many in the financial community are choosing to interpret the election results as a positive sign. They remember the “gridlock” during the Obama years, and they are hopeful that the next couple of years will be at least somewhat similar. The Dow Jones Industrial Average shot up 545 points on Wednesday, and that was the largest post-midterm rally that we have seen in 36 years. Stock prices normally go up the day after midterm elections, but Wednesday’s rally was definitely unusual…

What Will the Dems Do With Their New House?

Do the Democrats really think the country wants to go through all of this? Will the Democrats use their takeover of the House to work with President Trump or to wreck his presidency? Will the politically wounded president find within him any self-restraint and willingness to compromise? Might there be a silver lining to Trump’s midterm dark cloud?

The Secret Society That Rules The World

“The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society. Those who manipulate this unseen machanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country. We are governed, our minds are molded, our tastes formed, our ideas suggested, largely by men we have never heard of.”[1]

American Citizen Detained by Trump Admin Without Charge for More than a Year Finally Set Free

Most important to this writer is the fact that the case also stands as an example of the importance of a free and independent press to call out government and corporate abuse. If the original report was never written by these hard-working journalists this man might have been held much longer than a year or sent to a part of the world where he might be subjected to violence. As the independent and alternative American media is currently under attack it’s never been more important to stand up and support those who fight to bring truth to light.

US-Backed Troops Take Main Road to Yemen’s Vital Aid Port

US-backed forces loyal to the Saudi and UAE governments continue to attack the main Yemeni aid port of Hodeidah Wednesday. While the city itself remains unbreached, ground troops have seized the main road leading into the city, even more tightly restricting flow to and from it.

The Saudi-led naval blockade has put Yemen, which relies on food imports for over 90% of its food, on the brink of a major famine. Hodeidah is the main import site for food, and the last port under the control of the Houthi movement. If the port falls, there will be no way to get food to almost the entire north of the country.

The Houthis are using snipers to keep ground troops from entering the main port area after weeks of offensives. In recent days, they’ve also started tire fires to try to obscure visibility of the port, in an attempt to make it harder for Saudi warships to target the city.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It appears to be only a matter of time before Saudi and US troops have control of Hodeida.

This should fall well within the end of the month that Mattis has set for peace talks to start, as thousands more Yemeni continue to die from malnutrition.

The Economy Does Not Care Who Won The Midterm Elections

Economic function and repair are far beyond the scope of any political body to fix when the dysfunction reaches the point we are at today. To believe otherwise is foolhardy. To believe that the political elites actually want to fix the economy is even more foolhardy. The answer is not replacing one set of political puppets with another set of political puppets, but for regular people to begin localizing their own production and trade — to decouple from dependency on the existing system and start their own system. Only through this, and the removal of the globalist tumor from its position of power and influence, will anything ever change for the better.

SAUDI ARABIA TO PAY FINANCIAL COMPENSATION TO SLAIN JOURNALIST’S FAMILY, FIANCÉE

Saudi Arabia had informed Turkey that it would pay financial compensation to the family and Turkish fiancee of Saudi journalist, Jamal Khashoggi who was murdered inside the Saudi consulate in Istanbul by a Saudi hit-squad on October, 2, Al- Jazeera channel reported a Turkish official as saying.

The Turkish official said the Turkish authorities have evidence on the fate of Khashoggi’s body, but the Saudi authorities are putting obstacles to reach it.

According to the source, when the Saudi prosecutor, Saudi al- Mojaab was asked about the fate of Khashoggi’s body, he said he had no information about the matter.

The source added that the suspects’ statement handed by al- Mojaab to the Turkish authorities were useless and did not help achieve any progress in the investigation.

Webmaster's Commentary:

One has to wonder just what would have happened had the assassination of Khashoggi not gone as public as quickly as it did?!?!?

LEAKED DOCUMENTARY SHOWS ISRAEL LOBBY USED FAKE SEXUAL ASSAULT CLAIMS AGAINST BDS ACTIVISTS

A leaked Al Jazeera documentary detailing the tactics of the Israeli lobby in the United States and elsewhere has revealed that pro-Israel groups regularly invented smears, including false accusations of sexual assault, to discredit professors and students on U.S. university campuses that support equal rights for Palestinians and the Boycott, Divest and Sanctions (BDS) movement. BDS is a non-violent movement that seeks to use economic pressure on Israel’s government so that it complies with international law, ends the military occupation of the West Bank, and halts the decades-long blockade of the Gaza Strip.

NAVY DISCIPLINES SAILORS FOR LSD RING ABOARD NUCLEAR-POWERED AIRCRAFT CARRIER

14 sailors working in the nuclear reactor department aboard the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan face disciplinary action for using and distributing LSD, the latest embarrassment for the Navy’s scandal-ridden 7th Fleet.
Ten of the sailors have already been disciplined on “LSD related charges,” a 7th Fleet spokesman told Navy Times. Two sailors are in more serious trouble, and are heading to court-martial for using, possessing, and distributing the hallucinogenic drug, while the Navy is considering charging another three as well.

Kind of nuts that the troops tripping on #LSD work with a #nuclearreactor on an #aircraftcarrier and #nuclearmissiles on land... https://t.co/44ZY0dgbpl

SAUDI JOURNALIST TORTURED TO DEATH IN PRISON

Saudi journalist and writer Turki Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Jasser has died after being tortured while in detention, the New Khaleej reported yesterday.

Reporting human rights sources, the news site said that Al-Jasser was arrested and tortured to death after Saudi authorities claimed he administered the Twitter account Kashkool, which disclosed rights violations committed by the Saudi authorities and royal family.

The sources said that the authorities identified Al-Jasser as the admin using spies in Twitter’s regional office located in Dubai. He was arrested in March.

THE FDA REQUESTED A $25 MILLION STUDY ON CELL PHONE RADIATION, BUT IGNORED THE RESULTS THAT LINK THE RADIATION TO CANCER

A $25 million comprehensive study on the effects of cellphone radiation on rats that spanned 19 years found clear evidence of tumors in the hearts of male rats and some links to tumors in the brains and adrenal glands of male rats. However, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which had requested the study in the first place, is casting doubt on the study’s conclusions claiming that the results on the rodents cannot be extrapolated to humans. David Carpenter, the Director for Health and Environment at the University of Albany in New York, said that many studies have shown increased risk of brain cancer (glioblastoma) in humans due to excessive cell phone use, and that animal models like mice and rats in experiments are common because it is very rare for a substance to cause cancer in an animal, but not in humans.

Webmaster's Commentary:

When an industry makes enough money, and contributes generously to both sides of the aisle, it is no wonder that outcomes of studies like this become suppressed.

Just look at what Monsanto has been allowed to get away with for decades!!!
