Is The Fed Actually Trying To Cause A Stock Market Crash?

All of the economic numbers tell us that the economy is slowing down, and on Wednesday Fed Chair Jerome Powell even admitted that economic conditions are “softening”, but the Federal Reserve raised interest rates anyway. As one top economist put it, raising rates as we head into an economic downturn is “economic malpractice”. They know that higher rates will slow down the economy even more, but it isn’t as if the Fed was divided on this move. In fact, it was a unanimous vote to raise rates. They clearly have an agenda, and that agenda is definitely not about helping the American people.

Early on Wednesday, Wall Street seemed to believe that the Federal Reserve would do the right thing, and the Dow was up nearly 400 points. But then the announcement came, and the market began sinking dramatically.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Gotcha" politics is just as ugly, and unnecessary as are "Gotcha" economic decisions by the Fed.

US, Allies Slam China Over Cyberespionage As DOJ Indicts Hackers

Update: The latest batch of indictments has been handed down. The DOJ has indicted two hackers for their alleged involvement in a global hacking campaign, carried out at the behest of the Tianjin office of China's MSS. The behavior allegedly happened over two time periods, one of which began in 2006, and the other beginning in 2014. They compromised more than 40 computers belonging to the US Navy.

Here's a breakdown of the indictment, courtesy of CNBC:

Prosecutors accused the hackers of operating in connection with the Chinese government.
They are accused of stealing information from at least 45 U.S. tech companies and government agencies.

Agencies targeted included the Department of Energy's National Laboratory and NASA's jet propulsion lab.

The hackers also allegedly targeted defense industrial companies and managed service providers, as a way to gain entry to U.S. corporations and agencies through their suppliers.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Great; on top of the trade wars, now we've got accusations of computer meddling; this is really ratchet down tensions, of course!

The timing of these accusations is not a coincidence, and I would suspect that there is someone at State, Pentagon, and/or Justice, who wants to see a hot war with China come to fruition, and right now.

The only problem: The US military doesn't have the money; the weaponry; the troop strength, or the manufacturing to insure a positive outcome to a war with China at this time.

Prelude to Caribbean Crisis 2.0? Russia reportedly eyes air base off Venezuela's coast

As Washington is determined to leave the landmark INF Treaty, it seems Moscow is looking for a response. Russian media has cited diplomatic sources as saying that Moscow is eyeing a strategic air base off Venezuela's coast.
The arrival of two Russian Tu-160 strategic bombers to Venezuela earlier this month has provoked a nervous reaction from Washington and led to a brief heated exchange between the US and Russian officials. This might have been a prelude to a more ambitious endeavor, Russia's Nezavisimaya Gazeta (NG) daily revealed, citing military and diplomatic sources.

Sources told the paper that Moscow seeks to create a semi-permanent base for the Russian long-range aviation on one of Venezuela's islands in the Caribbean Sea as it prepares for “long-time military presence” in the US 'backyard'.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The President of the Unhinged, Surveilled State of Amerika, is like a truly naive child, when it comes even beginning to understand that his decisions may have unintended consequences.

Russia's talking to Maduro about the US pullout from the INF Treaty, creating a potential for Russia to be invited to build a base in Venezuela... was only one of those unintended consequences.

And I swear to you, this Administration desperately needs at least SOMEONE on their team who can think a scenario through to its logical conclusion, because the quality of thinking, coming out of this administration, deeply concerns me about the trajectories of both foreign, and domestic policies.

Quietly and almost unnoticed by the beeves of the American populace are the biometric measures for surveillance and tracking being emplaced by the United States with the cooperation of major corporations. I have written articles on the biometric scanners being used in an Atlanta airport, and that Chicago is following suit, along with Delta using these biometric data collection scanners prior to boarding flights in Los Angeles.

A new article surfaced this week that you need to read. Entitled “FBI plans ‘Rapid DNA’ network for quick database checks on arrestees,” by Tom Jackman on December 13, released by the Washington [Com]Post.

This is very serious, indeed. Here’s an excerpt:

Just hours after civil rights groups called on Facebook's top executives to step down from the company's board for allowing "viral propaganda" and "bigoted campaigns" to spread on the platform, demands for CEO Mark Zuckerberg to resign intensified after a bombshell New York Times report late Tuesday detailed a "special arrangement" the social media behemoth had with tech corporations that gave them access to users' data and private messages without consent.

"Facebook is evil, folks."
—Jeet Heer, The New Republic

"An incredibly damning indictment of Facebook, every single paragraph," Trevor Timm, executive director of the Freedom of the Press Foundation, wrote of the Times report, which is the latest in a long line of recent revelations about Facebook's intrusive—and possibly illegal—data practices.

Webmaster's Commentary:

On the 27th of November 2018 the Guardian posted a story claiming that former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort visited Julian Assange in the Ecuadorian embassy in London on three occasions in 2013, 2015 and 2016.

Almost immediately one of the co-authors named Fernando Villavicencio had his name removed from the online article, but still remains on the print copy. In less than four hours they had reworded the article without declaration, adding ‘alleged’ and ‘supposed’ to the central claims. By the end of the day they had quietly disowned the story, and have not promoted nor followed up on any of the claims since.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The Guardian has become the "safe space" for all kinds of codswallop to be planted, then quietly removed, before it is finally found to be fake news.

Don't Take the DNA Test You'll Probably Get for Christmas

On the face of it, these tests seem like the perfect stocking stuffer. They’re pegged as a novel, exciting experience, one that might even bring a family closer together by revealing their shared genetic past. But in this humble writer’s opinion, consumer DNA kits are one of the last presents you want to unwrap on Christmas morning. Why? Because they can still be laughingly imprecise, are barely regulated, and most worryingly of all, could expose your identity to people you’d rather not know anything about you.

As more people take these tests and add their DNA to companies’ databases, the accuracy and specificity of these tests should get better. But that improvement comes with its own drawbacks, namely a loss of privacy.

Social media giants are collaborating with Israeli authorities to censor user content, according to a new update by legal rights centre Adalah.

Adalah is continuing to demand that Israel’s state attorney’s office closes its “Cyber Unit”, which works with companies like Facebook and YouTube to remove posts.

According to official data, in 2016 the unit submitted 2,241 content removal requests, of which 69 per cent of posts were duly removed. In 2017, the unit submitted a massive number of 12,351 content removal requests, 85 per cent of which were removed.

Adalah maintains that there are “constitutional and legal flaws inherent in the Cyber Unit’s activities”.

“The state attorney’s authority in such issues is limited to the possibility of retroactively appealing to the courts and bringing suspects to trial,” Adalah stated.

“The court is the only body authorised to determine whether a particular social media post constitutes a crime and to order punitive measures,” it added.

North Korea has said it will not give up its nuclear weapons until the US first “completely eliminates” its own arsenal in the region, a bombshell demand that threatens to derail peace talks.

In a statement issued by the official KCNA news agency, North Korea set out clearly for the first time what it sees as the definition of “complete denuclearisation of the Korean peninsula”, the vague goal agreed to by Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un at a summit in Singapore in June.

The US withdrew its tactical nuclear weapons from South Korea in the 1990s, but maintains an umbrella of weapons capable of defending South Korea and Japan.

Washington has already ruled out reducing this military presence as part of any deal. It suggested after Singapore that Mr Trump and Mr Kim had agreed that North Korea could give up its nuclear weapons in exchange for “security assurances” from the US.

Webmaster's Commentary:

OK, folks, the bromance here is OVER.

The only question remaining is, how soon will the US government decide take up a hostile posture again, and lob missiles and military exercises aimed at North Korea?

And even if North and South Korea want to reunify, will the US government allow that to happen?!?

The Year of Putin-Nazi Paranoia

As my regular readers will probably recall, according to my personal, pseudo-Chinese zodiac, 2017 was “The Year of the Headless Liberal Chicken.” This year, having given it considerable thought, and having consulted the I Ching, and assorted other oracles, I’m designating 2018 “The Year of Putin-Nazi Paranoia.”

Not that 2017 wasn’t already paranoid. It was. It was completely paranoid, and otherwise clinically batshit crazy. But 2018 has been batshit crazier. It started out with the Internet companies that control the flow of information that most of us now perceive as “reality” launching an all-out War on Dissent, purportedly to protect the public from “divisive” and “confusing” content, and other forms of Russian “influencing.”

UK looted $45 TRILLION from India over 173 colonial years; US/UK looting $??TRILLION now with neo/warcolonialism

*hyperlinks/videos live at source*

Indian economist Utsa Patnaik's published research documents that colonial UK looted ~$45 trillion from India from 1765 to 1938 through control over natural and human resources. This military and political domination murdered millions of Indians.

British history lies that colonialism’s purpose was to “bring civilization” and Christianity to help development costing money rather than parasitizing resources: $45 trillion over 173 years is $260 billion/year, ~10% of modern UK GDP (10% of modern US GDP is $1.9 trillion; about half the US federal budget). Therefore, .01% psychopathic oligarchs are highly motivated to maintain a hidden and ongoing empire.

are Orwellian-illegal,

'Triumph for Erdogan' as US announces Syria pull-out

Trump's claim that ISIL has been defeated contradicted his own experts' assessments and shocked his Middle East allies.
The departure of 2,000 US troops from Syria, where the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have acted as the United States' boots on the ground in the war on Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL, also known as ISIS), will give Ankara greater scope to drive the Kurdish fighters away from its border.

Two days before the statement, Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said his US counterpart had responded positively to a his plan to invade the area of northeast Syria controlled by the SDF.

"There is little doubt that [Erdogan] welcomes it as a major diplomatic gain which clears the way for a third Turkish military advance into northern Syria," said Bulent Aliriza, director of the Center for Strategic and International Studies' Turkey Project in Washington.

The Strangest Loyalty Oath You Probably Never Heard Of

Bahia Amawi works as children’s speech pathologist for the Pflugerville Independent School District in Texas. Or, rather, she used to work as a children’s speech pathologist for the district. After nine years, Glenn Greenwald reports at The Intercept, the district’s administration declined to renew her contract because she refused to sign a loyalty oath.

Not a loyalty oath to the United States. Not a loyalty oath to the state of Texas. Not a loyalty oath to Pflugerville Independent School District, nor to its students.

A loyalty oath to Israel.

The purpose of these requirements is to hinder the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement. BDS participants call on Israel to meet its “obligations under international law” by withdrawing from occupied Arab territory and so forth, and back that call by refusing to purchase Israeli goods or do business with Israeli companies.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Russia to Send Warplanes to Crimea, Citing Ukraine ‘Provocation’

Russia’s Defense Ministry announced on Tuesday that they are planning to send “more than 10” warplanes to the Crimean Peninsula as part of a “permanent deployment.” Those planes are expected to arrive by the end of the week.

Those deployments come amid growing tension between Russia and Ukraine, and following a recent maritime incident in the Sea of Azov. Russian officials are citing concern of an upcoming Ukrainian “armed provocation” in Crimea as part of the decision.

Russian FM Sergey Lavrov was deeply critical of Ukraine, saying they would “regret” carrying out any planned provocations against Russia. He added that the “Ukrainian regime has full Nazi and neo-Nazi characteristics.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Russia's Putin is many things, but foolish, he is not; he knows what Poroshenko will try to do, in terms of getting the US and NATO involved in a shooting war with Russia, and that the timing is very near for some kind of "false flag" arranged by either the US or Ukraine, to be blamed on Russia.

And the reason Poroshenko has to get such a false flag done quickly?!? He's tanking in the polls, and the next election is due to happen in March of next year.

Therefore, Putin is taking no chances; and if provoked, will strike back.

Calm in Yemeni Port of Hodeidah as Ceasefire Holds

The ceasefire in Yemen’s vital aid port of Hodeidah has taken full effect on Tuesday, and while both sides have accused the other of violations, and locals have reported a bit of gunfire, calm has generally prevailed in and around the city.

The ceasefire was the last agreement reached at last week’s Sweden peace talks, and looks to have at least a bit of momentum, though the UN still isn’t decided on how they’ll go about monitoring the process, something they promised to do. In the meantime, the UN is trying to organize video talks with both sides to bolster support for the truce.

Under this truce, both sides are to withdraw all forces from Hodeidah and the surrounding area within 21 days. There is as yet no sign such redeployment is happening, which is likely a function of neither side trusting the other to honor the truce from the start.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I would really like to see peace break out here; but unfortunately, I sense that a negotiated truce is not what the Butcher of Yemen, Prince Bin Salman wants to see happen, but a victory at any human cost.

And please remember; the US is enabling and abetting Saudi war crimes in Yemen, which have led to the following outcomes happening here: (warning: very graphic images here)

Images: Yemeni children assassinated or maimed for life, courtesy of US-enabled Saudi bombing runs.

Images: Yemeni children starving to death, courtesy of US military-enabled Saudi blockades of Yemeni ports

Images: Yemenis dying from cholera (possibly weaponized), as water infrastructure has been destroyed by US enabled, Saudi bombings

Until the fighting stops, and as long as there is breath in my body, I am compelled, as a Christian pacifist activist, to witness to these US-enabled Saudi atrocities.

I never thought, when I was far younger, that being a citizen of the United States of America, meant that I was a citizen of a country which regularly commits war crimes with impunity; sadly, that is now a fact of American life, which gets utterly no discussion from the presstitutes on the corporate news.

Syria Militants Create Hotbeds of Terror in Africa - Russian Security Council

Some militant groups, after their defeat in Syria and Iraq, have been relocating to Africa, where they create large enclaves of the Daesh terrorist group, al-Qaeda and Boko Haram, Alexander Venediktov, the Russian Security Council secretary's assistant, told Sputnik.

"Let's take the problem of terrorism, which today is acute for African countries. After the defeat in Syria and Iraq, some militants have been on their way to the Sahel and further southward. As a result, bandit enclaves under the banners of ISIS [Daesh], al-Qaeda and Boko Haram, which has pledged allegiance to IS [Daesh] militants, are emerging on the vast territories," Venediktov said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Trump Ends Covert Aid to Syrian Rebels Trying to Topple Assad

Behind the Sudden Death of a $1 Billion Secret C.I.A. War in Syria

OK, let's see how this plays out in Africa. And I have done these analyses for far too long, to believe in the "long arm of coincidence" here.

Russia, Iran, and Syria have been pretty much successful in getting rid of the Jihadis, so what do we hear today from the Trump administration ?!?

Trump administration plans to pull U.S. troops out of Syria immediately, officials say

Now, what other countries would the US government like to regime change? The answer is, many African countries, with resources the US government wants to control, and only have sold in US dollars.

And right on time, BOOM!! Here come those same US trained/funded/armed jihadis who got kicked out of Syria, working to undermine and destabilize many African countries, just as they had attempted to undermine and destabilize Syria.

Folks, the arrival of these jihadis in Africa is utterly no accident or coincidence.

They have arrived precisely on time, to do what they attempted in Syria, but got driven out successfully by the Syrian, Russian, and Iranian military.

Perhaps the group-think in DC, is that the African nations they wish to destabilize won't be anywhere near as lucky in calling in outside resources, such as those of Russia, or Iran.

But in light of the fact that China is doing a lot of deals in Africa China in Africa; Win/Win or a new colonialism? , one has to wonder if we will be seeing the Chinese military assisting governments getting rid of the jihadis to protect their investments.

US Navy Mulls Moving Sub-Hunters to Alaska to Track China, Russia

The US Navy is considering whether to deploy submarine-hunting P-8 Poseidon aircraft to a Cold War-era base in Alaska in an effort to keep a closer eye on Chinese and Russian movements in the Arctic.

"Our Russian friends are warming up five airstrips and 10,000 Spetsnaz troops [in the Arctic] for quote unquote search and rescue. The Chinese are up there. Everybody is up there," US Navy Secretary Richard Spencer told lawmakers last week.

"Everybody but us," fired back Alaska Senator Dan Sullivan.

Webmaster's Commentary:

More sabre rattling; more demonization; more sanctions.... folks, you can see this coming, much like as in that archetypal dream, where two locomotives are about to hit each other, and there is nothing you can do to stop it.

At this point, I would like very much to remind you, if you have not started prepping, to do so immediately. If you don't know very much about it, get some info on line from someone like Daisy Luther, a very accomplished speaker and writer on the subject. Consider any payment you may make on that, as an investment in your, and your family's future survival.

I wish I could see a better outcome than either a world war, with Russia, China, and Iran on one side, and the US, NATO, the UK and Saudi Arabia on the other, or a complete, economic collapse of the US; but I don't see how that can happen, given the current geopolitical climate today.

No-deal Brexit plans put 3,500 troops on standby

Emergency no-deal Brexit contingency plans must now be implemented across government, cabinet ministers have agreed, including reserving ferry space for supplies and putting 3,500 armed forces personnel on standby to deal with any disruption.

No 10 confirmed on Tuesday that ministers would “ramp up” no-deal planning, and that the departments would be expected to make it their main priority.

Downing Street said it would send advice on preparing for no-deal to all UK businesses and suggested they should begin implementing their own contingency plans as they saw fit.

Ex-Deputy Chief of Russia’s Voentorg to Remain in US Custody Until Trial - Court

The former deputy director of Russian military contractor Voentorg, Leonid Teyf, will remain in US custody until trial in the criminal case on laundering $150 million, a court filing said.

"The Court held a detention hearing and found that detention is warranted," the document said on Monday. The reasons for detention include serious evidence against the defendant and the lengthy sentence he may face, according to the filing.

Another defendant in the case, Alexei Polyakov, declined to ask for release and also will remain in custody until the beginning of the trial, while Teyf's wife Tatiana has been released on bail, the document said.
Teyf was arrested on December 6 and is detained in a North Carolina prison.

Prosecutors allege that Teyf and his wife began running the scheme in 2010, when then-Defense Minister Anatoliy Serdyukov granted Voentorg a contract to provide Russian military with goods and services, according to an indictment that was unsealed earlier this week.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Remember; this happened under President Obama's and Secretary Clinton's watch.

One has to wonder just how "cosy" the relationship between Teyf and Polyakov, and Team Obama, really were.

After a video showing a police officer slamming a middle school student to the ground twice and another thrusting the student's face into a desk surfaced, the officers are facing minor charges.

The student's family believes the charges are a "slap on the wrist," their attorney Kwame Asante told Baton Rouge-based The Advocate. Asante said the teen was sent to the office for cursing on the playground. He then argued with a school administrator about how long he had to stay in detention. That was in October.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The more schools treat their students like convicts, in a minimum security prison, the more students will believe that this violent acting-out is the only kind of behaviour acceptible from them, even if they get physically attacked by school police.

You know, it's really interesting; you don't hear about these kinds of incidences happening in Montessori Schools; Waldorf Schools, or Kumon Schools.

And why?!? Because these schools believe that if they ask for the best from their students, and provide a loving, structured learning environment, those students will deliver, and thrive.

Why the American educational system won't learn the lessons to be learned from these highly respected schools, must have a reason behind it.

In essence, in most public schools, they use a combination of outmoded teaching tactics, coupled with harsh punishments if students do not comply, which absolutely guarantee that some of its more rambunctious students will get into trouble, or be summarily medicated, probably without the parents' consent.

And that trouble, frequently, creates a direct pipeline from school to juvenile correction facilities. To understand how frequently this happens in 21st century American public education, is utterly appalling.

The Associated Press has tracked recent, ongoing shipments from one such factory — Hetian Taida Apparel — inside an internment camp to Badger Sportswear, a leading supplier in Statesville, North Carolina. Badger’s clothes are sold on college campuses and to sports teams across the country, although there is no way to tell where any particular shirt made in Xinjiang ends up.

The shipments show how difficult it is to stop products made with forced labor from getting into the global supply chain, even though such imports are illegal in the U.S. Badger CEO John Anton said Sunday that the company would halt shipments while it investigates. -AP

The CEO of Hetian Taida Apparel, Wu Hongbo, confirmed the existence of a factory inside of a re-education compound - one of many across China where some 1 million Muslims, known as Uighurs, are estimated to live in detention where they are forced to give up their language and religion as they are politically indoctrinated.

It is not the report here, which ultimately may or may not be true; it is the timing of the release if this report, which concerns me (dateline: yesterday).

Because on the day before, 17 December, we find the following shark-jumping revelation, this time courtesy of NewsWeak:

The article goes on to state: 'Moscow and Beijing have reportedly joined forces to carry out heating experiments above Europe and modify an important layer of the atmosphere for a possible military application, according to Chinese scientists.

Five experiments were conducted in June, and one of them created a physical disturbance over an area as large as 49,000 square miles, or roughly half the size of Britain, The South China Morning Post reported Monday. The heating experiment, which took place 310 miles over the small Russian town of Vasilsursk in Eastern Europe, generated an electric spike that contained 10 times “more negatively charged subatomic particles than surrounding regions,” the publication noted.'

OK, folks, a little logic here; if, in fact, the Russians and Chinese had, in fact, pulled this off, why in heaven's name, would they be blabbing about this to the entire world?!? I mean, something as significant in the evolution of this kind of weaponry would be top secret, spoken about publicly on penalty of death.

It has been my observation for a long time, that demonization of a country, coupled with sanctions against that country, are many times the prelude to war; unfortunately, I don't think this is different. It is not a question of if; it is a question of when.

After all, the very much-respected Paul Craig Roberts warned us in the spring of last year, that the US government has plans to nuke Russia and China.

The US military’s Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) is developing genetically engineered organisms that it hopes will be able to detect the presence of enemy submarines, ships, or divers, according to a new report published in Defense One.

The work is part of a $45 million initiative across all the branches of the US armed forces that is investigating ocean-based military applications for genetic engineering.

Motherboard has previously reported on the military’s plans to use larger aquatic animals to detect enemy ships, but now it appears that they are also looking to weaponize biology on the microscale.

As the Naval Research Laboratory told Motherboard in an email, researchers plan on using microorganisms commonly found in the ocean and genetically modify them so they react to various substances left by enemy vessels or equipment, such as fuel exhaust and trace amounts of metals.

Step side Russia: the new global hacking bogeyman is now officially China.

But how do we know it's China this time and not, say, North Korea, Moscow, or some basement dwelling supporter of Julian Assange? Well, according to Oren Falkowitz, CEO of Area 1, he had “absolute confidence” that a Chinese group was behind the attacks, because of an extensive analysis of their techniques... the same way CrowdStrike had "absolute confidence" Russia hacked the DNC server without, of course, allowing the FBI to also investigate it independent. He linked the hacks to the Strategic Support Force of the People’s Liberation Army.

In a hack surprisingly reminiscent of how "the Russians" got access to John Podesta's email, Area 1 said the hackers initially accessed the system using unsophisticated phishing techniques, sending an email with a malicious link or attachment to people inside the ministry in Cyprus.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This smells like more demonization of China.

And we all know what demonization, coupled with sanctions means; it is, most generally, a prelude to a shooting war.

I would very strongly caution President Trump against war with China, either now, or in the very near future. And I say that because, at this point in its history, the American military doesn't have the weaponry; the troop strength; the manufacturing; or the money to insure a positive outcome in such a conflict.

The international press freedom group Reporters Without Borders detailed an "unprecedented" level of violence and hostility toward journalists around the world in 2018, with the number of reporters killed and detained while working—or in retaliation for their work—shooting up from the previous year.

Eighty journalists around the world were killed due to their reporting work from January to November 2018, while 348 were detained and 60 were held hostage, according to the the group's annual "Worldwide Round-up" of dangers faced by journalists.

"Violence against journalists has reached unprecedented levels this year, and the situation is now critical," said Christophe Deloire, head of Reporters Without Borders, which is also known by its French name, Reporters Sans Frontieres (RSF).

While the United States continues to deny providing support to terrorists in Syria in terms of money, training, or weapons without the “rebels” first being “moderate,” the truth is that it has been proven time and time again that the US did indeed arm jihadists in Syria from the very beginning and even before the alleged “protests” began in 2011.

Even taking the admitted 2013 arming of terrorists out of the equation – the infamous initiative that took place after the Obama administration cooked up an accusation that the Syrian government used “chemical weapons” on civilians in Ghouta that year – the evidence is clear that the United States had been arming fighters before that time. This is clearly seen when anyone follows the trail of weapons that found their way into Syria early on.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Color me completely unsurprised at this revelation.

The control over the ionosphere has become an ambitious project for some military forces, as it has the capacity to disrupt communication of enemy satellites. The U.S., for instance, was also involved in a multimillion-dollar project called the High-Frequency Active Auroral Research Program, also known as HAARP, located 200 miles north of Anchorage, Alaska, and funded by the U.S. military and the Defense Department in 1993. HAARP was later transferred from the U.S. Air Force to the University of Alaska Fairbanks on August 11, 2015.

Charter Spectrum to pay record $174 million fine and give huge refunds to New York customers

Charter Spectrum will pay a record $174 million and refund customers in New York $62 million in a settlement over claims it defrauded internet subscribers.

The settlement announced Tuesday with the New York Attorney General's Office is the largest consumer payment by an internet provider in U.S. history, and Charter Spectrum has agreed to provide some premium cable channels for free to customers as part of the deal.

“This settlement should serve as a wake-up call to any company serving New York consumers: fulfill your promises, or pay the price,” Attorney General Barbara Underwood said in a statement.

“Not only is this the largest-ever consumer payout by an internet service provider, returning tens of millions of dollars to New Yorkers who were ripped off and providing additional streaming and premium channels as restitution – but it also sets a new standard for how internet providers should fairly market their services.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Here on Oahu, Spectrum/Time Oceanic Cable is a monopoly, and their quality of service, most generally, is lousy, even if the people in their Customer Service department, are generally quite nice.

The FBI Manufactured '302s' before Mueller

The FBI calls its report of a given interview a “302.” This Luddite insistence on a written summary in the age of easy voice recording opens the door to all manner of misinterpretation.

In the case of the 302 that recreated the initial interview with Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn in January 2017, that misinterpretation may not be innocent. To have any value, a 302 must be prepared within five days of the actual interview. That is FBI protocol as well. Last week, when Judge Emmett Sullivan ordered the Robert Mueller legal team to turn over the 302 for the Flynn interview, however, Mueller produced a 302 prepared seven months after the interview.

Putin Wants to Eat Your Children

If U.S. television and politicians started saying that Saudi Arabia should be bombed because it kills and tortures innocent people, within a week many millions of Americans would demand just that. And because those voices do say that about ISIS, many millions of Americans do favor a war on ISIS.

My point is not that bombs would be worse than the problem addressed and would make the problem itself worse as well, although that’s all true. Rather, my point is that most people who favor wars do so in order to blindly support a nation, and in blindly supporting that nation they allow it to dictate which wars they will favor. Although war supporters will give you reasons for the wars they favor, they actually favor whichever wars they are told to favor, and no others. And they’ll give you the reasons they are told to believe in as well.

The 'Russian Threat' and the Politics of Mass Distraction

With mounting problems at home, the UK Establishment is stepping up its campaign to divert our attention on to non-existent dangers from abroad. The so-called 'Russian threat,' is not only good for the arms industry, and defense budgets, but for politicians who have no answers to the very real threats the British public face in their daily lives.

A knife crime epidemic. A significant rise in the murder rate. The NHS at breaking point. A 60% rise in homelessness since 2010/11 and a sharp rise in child and pensioner poverty. A hideously expensive and unreliable public transport system that is not fit for purpose.

Do it CIA style: What you need to know about latest leak on UK-funded psyop

It’s been over a month since hackers began exposing the Scotland-based 'Integrity Initiative' as a UK government-funded propaganda outfit — and gradually new details of the organization's clandestine activities have come to light.

The documents were leaked by a group which claims to be associated with the Anonymous hackers. The first batch of leaks revealed the Integrity Initiative (II) was stealthily operating “clusters” of influencers across Europe working to ensure pro-UK narratives dominate the media. The second batch showed that the organization was also running disinformation campaigns domestically — specifically a smear campaign against Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn; all done under the guise of combatting “Russian propaganda.”

Regulatory bodies should evaluate BBC’s coverage of disorder in Paris - Russian embassy

"We have to state that the British media, which were justly regarded as one of the most independent ones in the past, have considerably spoilt their reputation. It is no surprise that many readers switched to other sources of information: internet media, social networks or alternative media outlets, such as RT"... The UK’s regulatory bodies should evaluate the way BBC covered the disorder in Paris, the press secretary of the Russian Embassy in London told journalists on Tuesday, commenting on the corporation’s recognition that its reporter had been intentionally looking for a "Russian trace" during the disturbances in the French capital. "It is a remarkable fact that instead of conducting independent journalistic work for the sake of objectivity employees have to gain at any cost information that would confirm the interpretation of the events dictated by the administration. As they say, if facts do not correspond to the editorial policy, so much the worse for the facts.

Stossel: Does Silicon Valley Manipulate Users?

Leaked emails show some Google engineers blaming their company for Trump's 2016 win, suggesting that the site should censor outlets like The Daily Caller and Breitbart.

"Google's senior management was heavily in favor of Hillary Clinton," The Creepy Line writer Peter Schweizer tells John Stossel. "Their ability to manipulate the algorithm is something that they've demonstrated the ability to do in the past...and the evidence from academics who monitored 2016 was clearly that they did."

‘Junk News’: Russia Report Done By Anti-Conservative Academics

A new study has claimed Russia’s online interference tried to aid the conservative movement and Donald Trump. There’s a big problem with that assessment. The study was released by the Oxford University Computational Propaganda Project and Graphika. It argued that fake accounts, ads, and tweets “all clearly sought to benefit the Republican Party -- and specifically Donald Trump”

Vital Lockerbie evidence ‘was made AFTER the doomed flight crashed’: Circuit board used to convict Libyan over 1988 bombing wasn’t manufactured until 1991, documentary claims amid calls for a public inquiry

This photo shows a small fragment of a circuit timer, PT/35(b), that was allegedly found among the debris of Pan Am 103 near the town of Lockerbie after the 1988 crash. According to Richard Marquise, the FBI Agent who led the US side of the Lockerbie investigation, without PT/35(b), there would 'have been no indictment'. But it is claimed fresh forensic scrutiny has established the fragment was from a type of circuit-board not patented until 1991.
