President Obama Orders Behavioral Experiments On American Public

President Obama announced a new executive order on Tuesday which authorizes federal agencies to conduct behavioral experiments on U.S. citizens in order to advance government initiatives.

“A growing body of evidence demonstrates that behavioral science insights — research findings from fields such as behavioral economics and psychology about how people make decisions and act on them — can be used to design government policies to better serve the American people,” reads the executive order, released on Tuesday.

The initiative draws on research from University of Chicago economist Richard Thaler and Harvard law school professor Cass Sunstein, who was also dubbed Obama’s regulatory czar. The two behavioral scientists argued in their 2008 book “Nudge” that government policies can be designed in a way that “nudges” citizens towards certain behaviors and choices.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I shall not be "nudged" away from critical thinking, or enriching my own capabilities for making decisions for myself, thank you very much, Mr. President!!

How Neocons Destabilized Europe

It will not be easy to rid the world of the grave dangers created by neocon policies.

The neocon prescription of endless “regime change” is spreading chaos across the Middle East and now into Europe, yet the neocons still control the mainstream U.S. narrative and thus have diagnosed the problem as not enough “regime change,” as Robert Parry reports.

University Of Illinois 'Israel' Scandal

Free Speech is a basic tenet of academic discourse.

But if you’re anti-Israel, free speech bites the dust.

The latest victim of Jewish censorship is Professor Steven Salaita, fired from the University of Illinois.

Salaita’s a Palestinian American with Christian roots and ethnically cleansed grandparents.

His offense was to tweet barbed criticisms of Israel’s war on Gaza.

New Hillary Ad Supports Sexual Assault Victims- Then A Ghost From Her Past Surfaces With Truth Bomb

The new Hillary Clinton campaign ad that tells victims of sexual assault that they have a right to be believed is being criticized as hypocrisy at its worst.

“She’s a lying pig. I cannot believe that she had the gall to make that commercial. How dare she?” responded Kathleen Willey who in 1993 accused Hillary’s husband, President Bill Clinton, of sexually assaulting her.

“She believed what happened for sure,” Willey said. “She just chose to ignore the plight of all of his victims, thus enabling him to continue to abuse and rape women in the future.”

“She’s a money-hungry hypocritical witch who will do anything for money,” Willey said.

Hungary begins mass arrests

After shutting down the main corridor for refugees to Central Europe and fortifying its border with 109 miles of razor-wire fencing, Hungary on Tuesday began mass arrests of migrants who tried to sneak across its frontier.

More than 150 were detained as the country drew its line in the sand. Its get-tough approach to the European refugee crisis created an immediate bottleneck and howls of protest.

Within hours, a tent city sprouted on the Serbian side of the border, creating another potential flash point of misery and anger, as refugees scrambled for new routes to their preferred destinations in Germany and Scandinavia.

Hungary’s move was condemned by neighboring countries, humanitarian organizations and migrants, who staged spontaneous demonstrations along the newly erected fence.

Webmaster's Commentary:

And just what is the Hungarian government going to do with these people (including families with women and children) after they arrest them?!?

Forcibly repatriate them?!? Detain them indefinitely, as does Australia?!?

I do not get the sense that the Hungarian government has thought this all the way through.

VIDEO: COPS KILL SUICIDAL NATIVE AMERICAN IN BROAD DAYLIGHT AS HE HELD A KNIFE TO HIS OWN THROAT

In July, Paul Castaway was in the midst of severe mental anguish when his mother called police for help. He had a knife and was threatening to harm himself.

According to Paul’s mother, Lillian Castaway, her son suffered from schizophrenia and struggled with alcoholism. “I called the police for help, not to kill my son,” she said.

When police arrived, however, ‘help’ was the only thing they didn’t do.

In front of multiple witnesses, including children, a DPD officer opened fire on Castaway. He died on the spot, yet police still rolled his dead and bloody body over it and placed handcuffs on him.

“They shot him while the knife was still to his own throat,” said Lillian.

One of the children spoke to the Denver Post and explained what happened. The child explained that Castaway was running when he came to a dead end and then turned to face the police who were in pursuit.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Seems as though Colorado police are observing the phrase "to protect and serve" in a very grisly and twisted way.

They should have had medical help available, plus a couple of EMTs to "talk this guy down", and assure him he would be getting appropriate care once they got him to hospital and had him evaluated.

Of course, that... would have been logical.

UNITED AIRLINES CEO WALKS AWAY WITH $21 MILLION EXIT PACKAGE AFTER RESIGNING DUE TO CORRUPTION PROBE

Crime and corruption pay in America; you just have to be a corporate CEO, Wall Street executive, senior member of the military-industrial-intelligence complex or a politician. These so-called “elites” have perverted American justice to such a degree that not only are they now entirely above the law, they’re actually rewarded for unethical and crony behavior even after they get caught.

Nothing sums up how completely fraudulent and corrupt the U.S. economy has become than the following story, which describes how the United Airlines CEO who stepped down in the midst of a corruption probe is rewarded with a $21 million exit package, “free flights for life,” and free parking in downtown Chicago forever. No, I’m not making this up.

GRAND THEFT AUTO – UK AND EU BANK DEPOSITOR BAIL-IN REGIME IMPLEMENTED

Shares and stocks are tumbling around the world, with investors worried that the next global crisis has already begun. There is considerable uncertainty and nervousness amongst economists and trend forecasters. Government’s sooth jittery markets with misinformation in the hope that confidence does not evaporate and their legitimacy with it.
If another crisis gets underway – do you think that the money you have earned, paid tax on and put in a bank for a rainy day or for an unexpected bill is safe? Because if you do, you’re wrong.

Automated grand theft on an unprecedented scale has been agreed with unelected EU officials, the Bank of England and US authorities.

In a Joint paper issued by the US Federal Deposit Scheme and the Bank of England dated 10th December 2012 a statement included the words; “deposit schemes may have to contribute to the recapitalisation of a failed bank”.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Think your money is safe in a bank?!?

Under this process, your deposits are no longer yours, but become the bank's property for recapitalisation.

Israel’s Convoluted Legal System: “Administrative Detention” and Israel’s “Moral Imperative

snip: Moreover, this bill contradicts the very notion of law as such, which does not operate through brute force and terror but recognizes the equal worth and dignity of every individual who stands before the law. What the bill will do is make it much easier for the state to legally detain Palestinian suspects indefinitely without putting them on trial, adding yet another layer of moral decadence to the already bankrupt legal system.

That said, anyone who is familiar with Israel’s state of being from the day of its inception to the present cannot deny the fact that the country has legitimate national security concerns. But when national security becomes a political tool, Israel opens up itself to intense criticism and condemnation.

Assad Blames U.S. for Syrian Exodus: “Worried About Refugees? Stop Supporting Terrorists”

The U.S. government has expressed its opinion to Icelandic authorities that considering increased Russian aggression there may be reason to reopen the U.S. Navy base in Iceland; the U.S. Armed Forces operated the Naval Air Station in Keflavík as a NATO base from 1951 to 2006. The Fascinating Evolution of a Club Drug: Could Ecstasy Cure PTSD?

MDMA (3,4-methylenedioxy-methamphetamine), popularly known as Ecstasy, X, E, and Molly, is a synthetic, psychoactive drug that has similarities to both the stimulant amphetamine and the hallucinogen mescaline.

It produces feelings of increased energy, euphoria, compassion, trust, and empathy toward others, and distortions in sensory and time perception.

Long associated with underground parties, raves, music festivals, and house parties, the drug and its variations have gained a reputation for being a dangerous substance with no positive attributes or therapeutic benefits.

But that’s far from the truth.

Texans May Have Secession Question on Republican Primary Ballot

Aside from voting for whatever politician happens to be the flavor of the month, the Republican voters of Texas may have an additional question to answer for when Super Tuesday arrives next year. If the Texas Nationalist Movement has its way, then the Republican primary ballot may have to ask voters to decide whether or not they think “the state of Texas should reassert its status as an independent nation” and secede from the United States

Much to the chagrin of the Republican party, the Texas independence group is currently gathering signatures for a petition that would place their non-binding question on the ballot. According to the Texas Secretary of State, they will need at least 66,894 signatures, though the organization is shooting for 75,000.

Lawsuit for 'Exhibitionism' Filed Against Femen for Protest at Muslim Event

The organizers of the 3rd Muslim Salon conference, which was disrupted by FEMEN members on Saturday in a Paris suburb, filed a lawsuit against the activists for sexual exhibitionism. "No one can enslave me, no one can possess me, I am my own prophet!" the slogan written on their naked chests said. They were also shouting it in French and Arabic.

Clinton’s Charity Ties With Oligarchs Behind Ukrainian Coup Revealed

The Clinton Foundation contributed to the February coup in Ukraine, having longstanding ties to Ukrainian oligarchs who pushed the country to European integration.

A sinister atmosphere surrounds the Clinton Foundation’s role in Ukrainian military coup of February 2014, experts point out.It has recently turned out that Ukrainian oligarch Viktor Pinchuk, a vocal proponent of Ukraine’s European integration, made huge contributions to the Clinton Foundation, while Hillary Clinton was the US Secretary of State. Although the foundation swore off donations from foreign governments while Mrs. Clinton was serving as a state official, it continued accepting money from private donors. Many of them had certain ties to their national governments like Viktor Pinchuk, a Ukrainian businessman and ex-parliamentarian.

Texas students not allowed to appeal to God

Students from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley took to protests after their Professor prohibited to appeal to God during classes and exams.

The document aroused indignation among the American students, as it violates their right on freedom of speech, stated in the First Amendment of the US Constitution. "You shouldn't have a boundary on what you believe in, especially in the classroom," student John Taylor added. "I would've not said anything, but it would've bothered me because as a common courtesy, I say God bless you to people who sneeze."

Heroin epidemic: US defends its market from Mexico

The US border control noted that a "heroin epidemic" is being spread in the territory of the US. Border Patrol officials put the blame on illegal migrants from the neighbouring country, as well as corruption among common employees at the check points. As Hector Garza, president of the Laredo, Texas, chapter of the National Border Patrol Council, claimed "every single illegal alien that comes into the country goes through the hands of a drug cartel", and the price is often a backpack full of heroin.
Most heroin is smuggled into the U.S. by illegal immigrants crossing the border with help from Mexican drug cartels, according to Department of Homeland Security officials. The cartels are also responsible for most of the violence in the border region.

State-sanctioned killings without trial: are these Cameron’s British values?

Three months ago David Cameron celebrated the 800th anniversary of Magna Carta. Flanked by the Queen and the archbishop of Canterbury he genuflected before the pillars of Britain’s legal system.

On Monday he confirmed that he had executed two British citizens without trial. Reyaad Khan and Ruhul Amin were jihadis, from Cardiff and Aberdeen respectively, fighting for Isis in Syria. They were not killed in the heat of battle but with cold calculation. Their assassination was the result of “meticulous planning”, claims Cameron.

Khan and Amin apparently made a choice to declare war on both the west and other Muslims and have died in it. It should worry us all when young British men opt for that path.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Looks like Cameron took a page from Obama's book on this, as Obama believes that extrajudicial assassinations against anyone who needs killing is perfectly legal, and justifiable.

Officials Cover Up Housing Bubble’s Scummy Residue: Fraudulent Foreclosure Documents

EVERY DAY IN AMERICA, mortgage companies attempt to foreclose on homeowners using false documents.

It’s a byproduct of the mortgage securitization craze during the housing bubble, when loans were sliced and diced so haphazardly that the actual ownership was confused.

When the bubble burst, lenders foreclosing on properties needed paperwork to prove their standing, but didn’t have it — leading mortgage industry employees to forge, fabricate and backdate millions of mortgage documents. This foreclosure fraud scandal was exposed in 2010, and acquired a name: “robo-signing.”

But while some of the offenders paid fines over the past few years, nobody cleaned up the documents. This rot still exists inside the property records system all over the country, and those in a position of authority appear determined to pretend it doesn’t exist.

Webmaster's Commentary:

One has to wonder if the judges in these cases are getting compensated for "looking the other way" than deal with real criminal behaviour by corporations where the management believes that they can rip off property owners with impunity.

Obama Administration Accused of Ignoring Geneva Conventions in Refusal to Release 74-Pound Guantánamo Detainee

Ba Odah has been held at Guantánamo since 2002. He has never been charged with a crime. He began a peaceful hunger strike in 2007, and in 2009 he was cleared for release — as soon as Yemen became more stable or the government could find someplace else for him to go.

He is still waiting, now down to 74 pounds — a “chronic, life-threatening and potentially irreversible” condition, according to his lawyers.

Ba Odah’s petition to be released due to his failing and irreversible health condition revolves around two statutes: Article 110 of the Third Geneva Convention, and Section 3-12 of Army Regulations 190-8. The Geneva Convention mandates that prisoners of war be repatriated to their own country if their physical or mental condition is “gravely diminished” and is not likely to recover in one year. The Army regulations clause controls the repatriation of sick or wounded enemy prisoners of war, requiring a neutral doctor and direct repatriation in cases of serious injury or illness.

Webmaster's Commentary:

NOT a prisoner of war?!?

Sorry, Obama administration: this is sort of like being pregnant. Either you are, or are not. There is no middle ground here, and the phrase "enemy combatant" has no real force in international law.

Also, this man has never been charged with any kind of crime.

This detention is such an immoral mockery of American jurisprudence that I hardly know where to begin.

PUBLIC SCHOOL STUDENTS ARE THE NEW INMATES IN THE AMERICAN POLICE STATE

From the moment a child enters one of the nation’s 98,000 public schools to the moment she graduates, she will be exposed to a steady diet of draconian zero tolerance policies that criminalize childish behavior, overreaching anti-bullying statutes that criminalize speech, school resource officers (police) tasked with disciplining and/or arresting so-called “disorderly” students, standardized testing that emphasizes rote answers over critical thinking, politically correct mindsets that teach young people to censor themselves and those around them, and extensive biometric and surveillance systems that, coupled with the rest, acclimate young people to a world in which they have no freedom of thought, speech or movement.

If your child is fortunate enough to survive his encounter with the public schools, you should count yourself fortunate.

Most students are not so lucky.
