CIA Headquarters in Langley Reportedly on Lockdown

According to accounts from a McLean, Virginia resident, the CIA headquarters in Langley, Virginia are on lockdown for an unknown reason.

Photos provided to Breitbart News show the entrance from the road barred and police tape around the perimeter. Patrol cars were reportedly on hand as well. The local resident also stated that the rear entrance to the facility was also blocked.

Houston Muslim School Burned Down In What Investigators Say Is Likely An Arson Attack

Unfortunately, the execution of three Muslim students in Chapel Hill was not the only Islamophobic violence that happened this week. The same week, an Arab American family was assaulted in Dearborn, and now in Houston comes a horrible story of what appears to be an arson attack on an Islamic school for young children.

The Quba Islamic Institute opened in January of 2013 with the goal of doing Sunday school, summer school, and after-school programs for young children as well as host other Muslim events. Here's a photo from children there shooting hoops they posted yesterday on their Facebook:

The Pentagon's massive $534 billion budget request could force deep cuts elsewhere

The Pentagon decision to seek a 2016 budget that far exceeds federal spending caps poses the risk of a big across-the-board funding cut like the one that forced the department to put civilian workers on unpaid leave two years ago.

But defense officials say the department will not repeat some of the decisions it made in 2013 that exacerbated the problem once the automatic cuts, known as "sequestration," went into effect nearly halfway through the fiscal year.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This kind of spending requested by the Pentagon can only mean one thing: they have been informed that they will be fighting in perpetual wars which will see no end in the lifetime of the Pentagon officials requesting this money.

Republicans seize on HSBC scandal to hold up Loretta Lynch's confirmation

Senate Republicans are seizing on the global tax scandal engulfing HSBC to delay the confirmation of Loretta Lynch, Barack Obama’s nominee for attorney general, the Guardian can reveal.

The Republican chairman of the Senate judiciary committee, Chuck Grassley, was on Friday preparing a fresh tranche of questions for Lynch about the huge cache of leaked data showing how HSBC’s subsidiary helped conceal billions of dollars from domestic tax authorities.
HSBC could yet be prosecuted over tax-dodging scheme, warns Loretta Lynch
Obama’s nominee for attorney general negotiated a deal with HSBC two years ago that saw it avoid criminal charges but Lynch says DoJ still has powers to act.

Grassley and another Republican senator are planning to investigate whether Lynch could have done more to stand up to the world’s second largest bank.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The questions Republicans are bringing up are fully legitimate, and whoever vetted Loretta Lynch should have known that these issues would come up during the process of confirmation.

How deeply Ms. Lynch is, herself, mired in this controversy, is not something which should have been discovered so late in the process, and Democrats have only themselves to blame for not taking a closer look at this earlier.

Americans want someone in this very high position who will justly administer the laws, not bend them for the sake of the very well positioned.

But of course, Eric Holder himself has played fast and loose with the law, in terms of APgate surveillance; IRSgate; his persecution of James Rosen; the Marc Rich Pardon; Fast and Furious; and his position against 2nd Amendment Rights.

It is obvious, with the "baggage" Ms. Lynch carries, that this White House wants someone who "followed in Holder's footsteps" in terms of potential comfort with corruption on the biggest possible scale, and the outcomes of Ms. Lynch's tenure as the Attorney General, should she get confirmed, would most probably be more of the same.

We should all rage at how the HMRC Gestapo pick on the little people while doing cosy deals with the super rich

As someone who was subjected last year to an HMRC inspection of my tax affairs, I could not be more outraged at the revelations that some of the wealthiest people in Britain have been engaging in tax avoidance on a vast scale by exploiting the secrecy offered by HSBC’s Swiss private bank.

Labour, on whose watch most of this scandal occurred, have demanded to know whether David Cameron interrogated Stephen Green — the former HSBC chairman, who was in charge of the Swiss operation — when he granted him a peerage and a job as Trade Minister.

Meanwhile, Ed Miliband — who as the Mail reports today has, with his brother, pursued lucrative tax avoidance strategies — is trying to start a new class war by throwing rocks at rich Tory donors such as philanthropist Lord Fink, whose name appears on the list of clients in Switzerland.

Webmaster's Commentary:

There is a permanent class wear, waged by the upper classes on everyone else.

Overflow funeral crowd mourns 3 Muslims killed in N.C.

The crowd of more than 5,000 mourners attending the funeral Thursday in Raleigh for three Muslims who were shot to death was so large the services had to be moved from a mosque to a nearby athletic field.

The service for Deah Shaddy Barakat, a 23-year-old dental student, his wife Yusor Mohammad Abu-Salha, 21, and her sister Razan Mohammad Abu-Salha, 19, of Raleigh, began after midday Muslim prayers.

The three were killed at an apartment building in Chapel Hill, N.C., on Tuesday in what police say was an apparently long-simmering dispute over a parking space. Police are also investigating whether religious hatred was a factor in the shootings.

Water Bearer Consciousness and the Cloud of Unknowing.

Then we find that despite Poroshenko's immediate actions to the contrary following it, there's a new cease fire supposed to be taking place in The Ukraine. Would this have anything to do with Greece moving into the Russian orbit or... just another gambit, as the result of failed western policies, to injure Russia for not knuckling under to the international force of ZOG? As it so happens, more and more corporations are doing more and more business with Russia than ever before. Something is going on but I wouldn't know what that is. All I know is what I get from the Big Picture cause I'm a Big Picture kind of a guy. Minutiae tends to escape me.

Obama’s Force Authorization is a Blank Check for War Worldwide

Even if our policies led to no boots on the ground, the unintended consequences of blowback and the enemy obtaining more American weapons will continue. The CIA has said that 20,000 foreigners are on their way to Iraq and Syria to join the ISIS. Our government has no more credibility in telling us the truth about the facts that require us to expand our military presence in this region than Brian Williams. Constant war propaganda has proven too often to be our nemesis in supporting constant war promoted by the neoconservatives and the military industrial complex.

It’s my opinion that giving additional authority to wage war in the Middle East is a serious mistake. Instead, the authority granted in 2001 and 2002 should be repealed. A simple and correct solution would be for our elected officials to follow the rules regarding war laid out in the Constitution.

Lawyer moved Halliburton subsidiary bribes through secret Swiss HSBC accounts

A network of secretive banks and offshore tax havens was used to funnel $182 million in bribes to Nigerian officials in exchange for $6 billion in engineering and construction work for an international consortium of companies that included a then Halliburton subsidiary.

In 2010 Nigeria indicted former U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney, who was CEO of Halliburton before he was elected, only to later clear him when Halliburton worked out a $35 million settlement.

Webmaster's Commentary:

No surprise here: this is the way many very large corporations operate.

The bribes are just a cost of doing business.

Bob Simon, ‘60 Minutes’ Correspondent, Dies in Manhattan Car Crash at 73

Mr. Simon was a passenger in a livery cab that sideswiped a Mercedes-Benz sedan stopped at a red light on 12th Avenue near West 30th Street about 6:45 p.m., the police said. The cab then careened into the median, crashing into the metal stanchions separating the northbound and southbound traffic lanes. Mr. Simon was taken to Mount Sinai Roosevelt Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Some readers have tried to link Simon's death with his recent coverage of the HSBC scandal, but the description of this accident sounds like a genuine mash-up. Not reported in this version is that Simon was not wearing his seat belt.

ALL WARS ARE BANKERS' WARS!

"Banking was conceived in iniquity and was born in sin. The Bankers own the Earth. Take it away from them, but leave them the power to create deposits, and with the flick of a pen they will create enough deposits to buy it back again. However, take it away from them, and all the fortunes like mine will disappear, and they ought to disappear, for this world would be a happier and better world to live in. But if you wish to remain slaves of the Bankers and pay for the cost of your own slavery, let them continue to create deposits." -- Sir Josiah Stamp, President of the Bank of England in the 1920s, the second richest man in Britain

I know many people have a great deal of difficulty comprehending just how many wars are started for no other purpose than to force private central banks onto nations, so let me share a few examples, so that you understand why the US Government is mired in so many wars against so many foreign nations. There is ample precedent for this.

Amazon Japan’s Child Porn Problem?

Amazon Japan, the Japanese arm of Amazon, the world’s largest online shopping website, is facing an investigation by the Japanese police on suspicion of aiding and abetting the sale of child pornography on its website—a problem that the company should have known about at least since 2009. In that year, as a member of the NGO Lighthouse (formerly known as Polaris Project Japan), we brought attention to the problem in petitions and emails to the company.

The issue is not about Amazon selling this trash itself, it’s about so-called third-party vendors who showcase the porn on Amazon’s site. But according to its critics, the net result is basically the same: Amazon’s accusers say it is facilitating the sexual exploitation of children.

Three Muslim students killed at North Carolina campus

Three American students have been shot to death at a residential complex of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a suspect has been arrested over the incident, according to local police.

Chapel Hill police told local news outlets that Craig Stephen Hicks, 46, was arrested and charged with killing the three Muslim students.

He is being held at the Durham County Jail, and is expected to make a first court appearance Wednesday morning.

In a statement posted online, Chapel Hill police said that "preliminary investigation indicates that the crime was motivated by an ongoing neighbour dispute over parking."

"We understand the concerns about the possibility that this was hate-motivated and we will exhaust every lead to determine if that is the case," the statement said.

The Significant Difficulty of Clear Thinking in Dark Time Zones.

It is these banking families and tiny collectives of mercenary beings who are behind nearly every conflict on Earth. Their greatest defense for their continuance is to paint themselves as victims of history, when their own victims outnumber them a million to one. They control those portions of history that are selectively written. They control what books are published and what the books contain. They control the curriculum of the educational systems. They control the news and whatever art is permitted to be displayed or performed. They are near exclusively Satanists and that is why illiterate zombies like Kanye West are celebrated and enjoy such a wide proliferation of their incredibly mediocre efforts. They are the force that causes catamite redundancy clowns like Beck to proclaim that uninspired pornographers like West are geniuses. This allows for the airways of the world to be polluted by the banal and profane efforts of people like Nikki Minaj and Lil' Wayne.

Australia discontinues water, electricity services for Aboriginals

The Australian government has decided to discontinue the provision of water and electricity supplies to up to 200 indigenous communities, saying it can no longer afford the basic services, delegating it to state governments.

The remote communities, located across the northern tip of Australia and the Kimberley in the country’s northwest, will be deprived of essential services with the decision by the federal government, Vice News agency reported on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Western Australia (WA) state government has said it cannot afford to cover the costs either, estimating that at least some of the 274 communities in the state - perhaps as many as 200 - will have to close.

WA Premier Colin Barnett has, however, announced that cutting water and electricity supplies does not mean the communities will have to close down.

“There is nothing to stop people going on to land,” Barnett said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Sorry, Australian government; I have been to Sidney, and loved the city, and the people.

However, these decisions, at both territorial and national levels, reek of the stench of ethnic cleansing against Australia's First People: there is just no other way to say this politely.

Obama still argues that we can't have transparency or the terrorists will win

The Obama administration, self-described Most Transparent Administration in History™, is currently engaged in a multi-pronged legal battle to prevent an iota more transparency related to illegal torture. If there was any lingering hopes that the President might use the last two years of his final term in office to bring some accountability to the despicable actions of the CIA or the US military, it appears that he will instead continue to use the power of the office to fight to keep them hidden.

Later today, the government will showcase its latest suppression effort, as the Justice Department will urge a federal judge in New York to keep secret hundreds of photos of torture from Abu Ghraib prison from almost a decade ago. President Obama once promised to release the photos, only to reverse himself months after coming into office – and he’s since been fighting for years to keep them secret.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Imagine my (absence of) surprise here.

History will ultimately judge President Obama as one of the most profound disappointments of American leadership in the 21st century.

And despite his faux populist persona, he is no less a slave to the global corporate and banking institutions than are his Republican counterparts.

It doesn't matter any more which of the two parties gets elected nationally; what wins is more corporate wealth; more personal wealth inequality; and more wars.

Staples Threatens To Fire Staff For Working More Than 25 Hours A Week

n 2015, an Affordable Care Act provision requiring large employers to offer health insurance to staff working more than 30 hours a week kicked into effect. Now, some part-time staff at Staples say management has become extra vigilant about limiting their hours.

Webmaster's Commentary:

No surprise here.

After all, Obamacare was NEVER about affordable health care for Americans; the legislation was written by the medical insurance companies to insure that their profits stayed predatorily high, while shafting the American consumer with huge deductibles, and items not covered, if someone had a hospital visit.

Pro-Israel lobby threteans Democrats who plan to skip Netanyahu speech

Several pro-Israel lobby groups in the United States have threatened to “publicly condemn” Democrats who plan to skip the Israeli prime minister’s speech about Iran before Congress next month.

Benjamin Netanyahu’s well-funded Jewish conservative backers say they may use their funds to draw attention in the districts and states of any Democratic lawmaker who is not at the US Capitol to listen to Netanyahu on March 3.

Netanyahu has been invited by House of Representatives Speaker John Boehner to address a joint session of Congress to speak about the “threat” of Iran’s nuclear energy program.

“This is, I think, a critical visit by the prime minister. If these Democrats would rather put partisan politics ahead of principle and walk out on the prime minister of Israel, then we have an obligation to make that known,” said Matt Brooks, the executive director of the Republican Jewish Coalition, a political lobbying group which promotes Jewish Republicans.

Webmaster's Commentary:

A memo to Messrs Kline and Brooks: what is in the best interests of Tel Aviv, many times is NOT in the best interests of the American people, the American military, and the American economy; waging war against Iran happens to be one of those things NOT in the best interests of this country.

And the utter, unabashed hubris, Mr. Klein, of demanding that Democrats who don't show PROVE that they were ill and could not attend Netanyahu's speach by way of presenting a Doctor's note to you?!?

But Mr. Klein, I cannot possibly thank you enough for having given me a marvelous idea for a slogan campaign, that the American people - and all of Rivero's Rangers - should be up to, regarding Netanyahu's blatant attempt to sway US public policy against Iran.

It should be Teeshirts, Bumperstickers, and logos, faxed into every congressional office thickly, and that is:

Regarding Netanyahu's address to Congress:

"Hell, no, don't you go
Hell no, don't you go
Did you not get the word
To put YOUR country
first,
second and third?
Hell, no, don't you go,
hell, no, don't you go
We don't need Bibi
To dictate our foreign policy,
Hell no, don't you go
Hell no, don't you go,
IF you don't treat your fellow citizens right,
you'll be treated like Kryptonite.

Thanks again, Mr. Klein! You are too kind. :-)

CDC Caught Hiding Data Showing Mercury in Vaccines Linked to Autism

In a press release issued recently, one that almost no mainstream media sources have bothered to report, it was announced that Dr. Brian Hooker had finally received documents from the CDC through a Freedom of Information Act that revealed the CDC had access to data linking Thimerosal in vaccines to autism, non-organic sleep disorders, and speech disorders.

Two members of Congress helped Dr. Hooker draft his letter to the CDC, after having spent nearly 10 years submitting over 100 Freedom of Information Acts to no avail.

This information, so far, has been completely blacked out of the mainstream media.

Webmaster's Commentary:

In the US, medical care is ALL about profit, and very little about actual true patient care; this blackout on the information demonstrating thimerosal as toxic is only one more example of the trend here.

John Kerry notes successes against Islamic State, says more time is needed

A U.S.-backed coalition is “on the road” to winning the fight against Islamic State terrorists who reached new heights of barbarism last week, Secretary of State John F. Kerry declared Sunday, a rosy outlook rebutted by Kurdish leaders close to the conflict and Republican critics who say U.S. leadership is sorely lacking in several corners of the globe.

Mr. Kerry said the U.S.-led coalition, working with Arab partners, had taken back wide swaths of territory while eliminating top Islamic State commanders who had menaced a cross-section of Iraq and Syria, leading him to believe they are winning.

“I absolutely do,” he told NBC’s “Meet the Press.” “And I think the evidence is not in my saying it, but it’s in the facts of what is happening.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Mr. Secretary, forgive me, but as a rational American citizen who loves her country very much, and is very concerned about it's future course, I am having an industrial-strength palm to forehead moment, at velocity, right now.

Sir, you have offered absolutely no specifics, stating instead, "...it's the facts of what is happening."

Mr. Secretary, this is sound and fury, signifying....absolutely nothing. There are no facts, no specifics, and the Kurds, on the ground fighting ISIS, have a spectacularly, diametrically opposite assessment of what is going on than do you.

Americans deserve more from their leadership; and sir, right now you and this Administration are absolutely not providing it, in terms of facts and figures which can be fact checked.

Your statements about ISIS leave American citizens very skeptical indeed, about if you folks actually have a coordinated plan, thought through to its logical conclusion.

Invading Mosul Could Be Excuse for US Ground War in Iraq

US warplanes continue to pound Mosul, the largest city in ISIS territory and the major prize Iraqi officials are constantly talking about retaking. Yet officials are heavily debating the timetable for retaking the city, and how difficult it will be.

ISIS has shown an ability to defeat Iraqi troops in head-on battles, even when backed by US warplanes, and the militants have had half a year to fortify Mosul, which they know is going to be attacked sooner or later.

US officials have downplayed the chances of Iraqi forces retaking the city on their own, and may be planning to use the importance of retaking it as an excuse to justify the use of US ground troops in direct combat.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It appears that, once again, our military and civilian leadership are collectively suffering from severe SMD (selective memory disorder.)

Does ANYONE in Foggy Bottom NOT remember Muqtata Al Sadr, the founder of the Mahdi Army which threatened US forces to commit to the SOFA agreement with the Iraqi government, or face deadly consequences?!?

This man is no less respected and revered than when he made those demands of the US government and military, and they took him at his word.

I don't know what the bookies in Vegas will wager the chances of him reviving that military unit, if the US goes into Mosul with boots on the ground, but I surely would not bet against it.

But I think there is another agenda here, IF Obama gets his authorization to use military force against ISIS, no matter where it happens to be operating, (Lichtenstein, look out!!) I would almost be willing to bet that the capturing of Mosul would be about the US military using it as a forward base for sending US troops on the ground in Syria.

The map at the upper right of this article screams, "location, location, location...from which to send US land troops into Syria."

Here are 5 appalling facts about maternity leave in ‘family values’ America

For a country so taken with the idea of “family values,” the United States does a remarkably terrible job at helping people start families. We are the only industrialized nation that doesn’t have a law guaranteeing that new mothers receive paid maternity leave, and only 12 percent of women are granted paid leave by their employers. In most workplaces, paternity leave remains unheard of. Though it is technically illegal to fire workers after learning they are pregnant, it is very difficult to prove the cause of termination, and discrimination against pregnant and nursing employees persists. Nationwide Insurance employee Angela Ames, who was fired last year for taking time to pump milk during the day, was told by her supervisor, “just go home to be with your babies.” Yet in a mind-bending perversion of gender equality, Ames recently lost a sex discrimination lawsuit because judges pointed out that men can lactate too.

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF American women are avoiding pregnancy in order to be able to work, without recrimination, what does that say about the future of our society?!?

For me, having to hand off an infant at 6 weeks to a stranger is....not a great solution, but it is the only solution many young professional women have.

A Day Of Reckoning For The Euro Has Arrived – 26 TRILLION In Currency Derivatives At Risk

This is the month when the future of the eurozone will be decided. This week, Greek leaders will meet with European officials to discuss what comes next for Greece.

According to the Bank for International Settlements, 26.45 trillion dollars in currency derivatives are directly tied to the value of the euro.

Let that number sink in for a moment.

To give you some perspective, keep in mind that the U.S. government spends a total of less than 4 trillion dollars a year.

The entire U.S. national debt is just a bit above 18 trillion dollars.

So 26 trillion dollars is an amount of money that is almost unimaginable. And of course those are just the derivatives that are directly tied to the euro. Overall, the total global derivatives bubble is more than 700 trillion dollars in size.

VIDEO: Cancer epidemic underway in Fukushima — Rates up 6,000% says head of cancer research center — “This is definitely a holocaust… everything’s being swept under the rug” — “Very, very frightening… my family members are brainwashed”

Fukushima resident Chieko Shiina, supporter of the Fukushima Collaborative Clinic (translated by Carole Hisasue), Jan 24, 2015 (emphasis added):

At some point, the Japanese people will be overwhelmed with total anger and hostility against the government of Japan, and TEPCO, for all the terrible conditions which existed at the reactor before it came down, which could have been remedied, but were not by a hubristic and lackadaisical management.

They are also going to be furious at the lies and coverups when both those in management and the government knew what the logical health conclusions would be for the people in Fukushima and the people of Japan in general.

I don't know what form that anger is going to take, but I can guarantee you: it won't be pretty.

How Obama Is Making the World More Dangerous

Whether it be the Middle East, Asia, Russia’s border, or the world economy, the actions of the Obama administration have leaned towards various forms of provocation and aggression – economic sanctions, threats, funneling arms, etc. This dynamic makes an eventual regional conflict inevitable, beyond the one already occurring in Syria/Iraq, where a U.S.-led proxy war against Syria and Iran is dangerously close to a full-out regional war.

The US public is dangerously ignorant about the significance of these various regional conflicts. To the extent that they’re even reported, the “news” has excelled at blaming others and sharpening conflict, rather than shedding light or presenting peaceful alternatives.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Just because a geopolitical military strategy is the most hamfistedly, pigheadedly stupid thing the US government could do is, unfortunately, absolutely no guarantee that the US government will not do it.

A proxy war with Russia, which could well devolve into an actual, hot, shooting war, is just such a concept.

And the cold, hard, truth of the business is that at this point, the US military does not have the troop strength, the money, or the manufacturing to insure a positive outcome to a conventional war with Russia; and that is what makes the military scenario so scarily dangerous.

IF the Obama administration decides to give legal aid to Ukraine, this will be tantamount to having declared war on Russia.

This war will involve both NATO and Europe, which has seen two disastrous wars on its own territory, and it appears that Hollande and Merkel are doing their level best to stop World War 3.

But please, God, SOMEONE in Obama's inner circle has to have the courage to tell him the truth; that if he cannot manage Poroshenko, the absolute wild card here, he had better back away from this upcoming debacle, and at warp speed.

France's Hollande is already calling for more autonomy for the breakaway Eastern Ukrainian republics; if that does not happen, the bloodshed will continue, and the US will again be mired in an horrific war, propping up a tinpot dictator to absolutely no avail, and with no tangible good coming to the people of the United States because of it.

Wall Street Pays Bankers to Work in Government and It Doesn't Want Anyone to Know

Citigroup is one of three Wall Street banks attempting to keep hidden their practice of paying executives multimillion-dollar awards for entering government service. In letters delivered to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) over the last month, Citi, Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley seek exemption from a shareholder proposal, filed by the AFL-CIO labor coalition, which would force them to identify all executives eligible for these financial rewards, and the specific dollar amounts at stake. Critics argue these “golden parachutes” ensure more financial insiders in policy positions and favorable treatment toward Wall Street.

“As shareholders of these banks, we want to know how much money we have promised to give away to senior executives if they take government jobs,” said AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka in a statement. “It’s a simple question, but the banks don’t want to answer it. What are they trying to hide?”

Webmaster's Commentary:

A great question indeed, and one which should be answered with transparency; but will probably never be answered.

Europe And U.S. Clash Over How To Confront Putin On Ukraine

Germany's Angela Merkel warned on Saturday that sending arms to help Ukraine fight pro-Russian separatists would not solve the crisis there, drawing a sharp rebuke from a leading U.S. senator who accused Berlin of turning its back on an ally in distress.

The heated exchange at a security conference in Munich pointed to the fragility of the transatlantic consensus on how to confront Russian President Vladimir Putin over a deepening conflict in eastern Ukraine that has killed more than 5,000.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, also in Munich, said there were "good grounds for optimism" that the talks between Merkel, Putin and Hollande could yield a deal.

But Lavrov also delivered a diatribe against the West. He accused Europe and the United States of supporting a "coup d'etat" against deposed Ukrainian leader Viktor Yanukovich, a Moscow ally, a year ago and turning a blind eye to nationalists he said were intent on ethnic cleansing in eastern Ukraine.

Webmaster's Commentary:

A short memo to the editorial board of Reuters: congratulations!!

Because having published this this article, without ever fact checking, thinking the "big lie" was going to go down easily with thinking Americans, you have well and truly flushed any small thread of public credibility you ever had in the 21st century.

You might think about hiring Brian Williams.

Lavrov is completely right in his assessment of the US's complicity in the coup d'etat which brought down the duly elected (albeit crooked as a dog's hind leg) leader Viktor Yanukovich. Obama and Victoria Nuland have publicly admitted so.

As reported at infowars.com:

Obama’s candid admission should not come as a surprise following the release of a surreptitiously recorded conversation between Victoria Nuland, the US-Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, and Geoffrey R. Pyatt, the US Ambassador to Ukraine. The conversation centered on ousting Ukrainian president Viktor Yanukovych and replacing him with one of several hand-picked State Department choices. Nuland instructed Pyatt to “have the UN glue this thing” and then dismissively added “fuck the EU” for its role negotiating the crisis. The U.S. orchestrated “transition,” as Obama characterized it, resulted in the appointment of fascists to key positions in the Kiev government and led to the current war in eastern Ukraine launched by Petro Poroshenko, the former confectionary magnate turned Ukrainian president. Poroshenko’s war on those who do not accept the nationalist government in Kiev has thus far killed more than 5,000 people, although unofficial tallies are far higher. In the not too distant past, the U.S. government attempted to hide its involvement in coups and the removal of democratically elected leaders. It relied primarily on the CIA to foment coups and counter-revolutions. However, since the advent of NGO and foundation spawned “color revolutions” attributed to the people of target countries, while in actuality orchestrated by USAID and the National Endowment for Democracy, the U.S. government has admitted its role in overturning governments.

Also, as reported at informationclearinghouse.info:

US Assistant Secretary of State for Europe, Nuland said: “Since the declaration of Ukrainian independence in 1991, the United States supported the Ukrainians in the development of democratic institutions and skills in promoting civil society and a good form of government - all that is necessary to achieve the objectives of Ukraine’s European. We have invested more than 5 billion dollars to help Ukraine to achieve these and other goals. ” Nuland said the United States will continue to “promote Ukraine to the future it deserves.”

Since when, ladies and gentlemen of Reuters, do you characterize telling the hard truth, which Lavrov did, as having "delivered a diatribe against the West"?!?

The facts on the ground, in the face of these two interviews, are incontrovertible.

OF course, NO ONE, apparently, at Reuters was actally going to do the real fact checking legitimate journalism deserves; it was simply too time consuming, too...professional to get one's hands dirty doing.

And that comment about Russia having "annexed" Crimea?!?!?

This is a bald-faced lie, and you know it. And it is apparent that whoever threw this verbal vomit together has absolutely no understanding of history.

When the legitimate Ukrainian leadership of Yanukovic was cut short, Crimea requested to become part of the Russian Federation. Crimea had been historically Russian, until it was, itself, annexed by Kruschev, himself a native Ukrainian, in the mid-50s.

This Crimean referendum was characterized by international observers as free and fair; one can hardly say that about the election of Poroshenko in the Ukraine.

And if I know this, as just an average American, then milllions more of us Americans understand this as well.

TSA to Arrest Anyone Charged with any Crime trying to Come or Leave – including taxes

The border is closing rapidly. First it was FATCA hunting Americans with any assets overseas whatsoever. Now just two days after taking charge of the committee chairing the House Homeland Security subcommittee hearing, U.S. Rep. John Katko introduced two bills. He is looking to effectively close the borders using terrorism as the excuse as always to hunt down Americans. Katko is a former federal prosecutor. So he knows precisely what he is doing writing a law that is so broad, that anyone suspected of a crime cannot leave the country. This is any crime. Keeping gold in a safe deposit box is money laundering carrying up to 25 years in prison.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I have sounded like a chipped CD on this issue, but please, people with skills and kids, get the hell out of this country, and right now.

As for the claim that keeping physical gold is now considered money-laundering. This is something that is being lobbied for by the commodity brokers who trade in paper gold and silver, and sell 100 Oz of paper for every 1 Oz they actually have. Aware that the public is learning of this fraud and preferring physical over paper, the commodity brokers are trying to create a financial system where people can buy gold and silver, but ONLY in paper form, so they can go on playing their little scam. But the paper gold and silver has no more real value than a Federal Reserve Note; the cost of paper and ink. This is the beginning of the outlawing of real gold and silver to the people, leaving them with a paper illusion in its place.

How Vaccine Hysteria Could Spark A Totalitarian Nightmare

So, I’ve been asked, “Why not vaccinate your children? Why not take the influenza vaccine?” Well, I believe the choice is up to you. I’ve covered my thinking about the influenza vaccine in an article in the Journal of the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons, available online, but here are some facts about childhood vaccines that make me think twice about their use. I traced these points back to the source, so these are not blindly reprinted from hearsay Internet articles. In some cases I found public references to be wrong but the data to be correct when I got to the source. Much of this comes from government reporting. Anyone can research disease incidence by reading MMWR (Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report) from the CDC and accessing the search engine for VAERS (Vaccine complication reporting site) at http://www.medalerts.org/vaersdb/index.php.

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF you have a very young child, and your state still gives you the option of opting out of vaccinations (a window which I think may be closing, nationally, soon) please do the due diligence on the shot the pediatrician wants to give your child.

Please also research a mercury preservative, thimerosal, which is included in that shot, and what the true safety record is.

And if all vaccines are "perfectly safe", why was a rider attached to the Patriot Act, indemnifying vaccine manufacturers from any harm or liability if the vaccine injured, or caused death, to the person vaccinated?!?

As reported at ronpaulforums.com:

In 2002, Eli Lilly flexed its muscles at the highest level of the U.S. government in an audacious Lillygate. The event was the signing of the Homeland Security Act, praised by President George W. Bush as a “heroic action” that demonstrated “the resolve of this great nation to defend our freedom, our security and our way of life.” Soon after the Act was signed, New York Times columnist Bob Herbert discovered what had been slipped into the Act at the last minute and on November 25, 2002, he wrote, “Buried in this massive bill, snuck into it in the dark of night by persons unknown…was a provision that—incredibly—will protect Eli Lilly and a few other big pharmaceutical outfits from lawsuits by parents who believe their children were harmed by thimerosal.” Thimerosal is a preservative that contains mercury and is used by Eli Lilly and others in vaccines. A sample of those who have been on the Eli Lilly payroll includes: Former President George Herbert Walker Bush (one-time member of the Eli Lilly board of directors) Former CEO of Enron, Ken Lay (one-time member of the Eli Lilly board of directors) George W. Bush’s former director of Management and Budget, Mitch Daniels (a former Eli Lilly vice president) George W. Bush’s Homeland Security Advisory Council member, Sidney Taurel (current CEO of Eli Lilly) The National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (a recipient of Eli Lilly funding)

Folks, please think: the introduction of this rider was no accident.

Only 44% Of U.S. Adults Are Employed For 30-Or-More Hours Per Week

Jim Clifton, the Chairman and CEO of Gallup, says that the percentage of Americans that are employed full-time has been hovering near record lows since the end of the last recession. But most Americans don’t realize this because the official unemployment numbers are extremely misleading. In fact, Clifton says that the official 5.6 percent unemployment rate is a “big lie”. Gallup regularly tracks the percentage of U.S. adults that are employed for 30 or more hours per week, and it is currently at 44.2 percent. It has been hovering between 42 percent and 45 percent since the end of 2009. This is extremely low. As I discussed the other day, there are 8.69 million Americans that are considered to be “officially unemployed” at this point. But there are another 92.90 million Americans that are considered to be “not in the labor force”. Millions upon millions of those Americans would work if they could. Overall, there are 101 million U.S. adults that do not have a job right now.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The US government has no credibility, in ANYTHING it says, period, end of discussion.

Were President Obama to knock on my door, here on Oahu, and tell me the sun was shining, I believe I would have a moral obligation to walk outside and see for myself whether this was true or not.

But it's not only about economic numbers the government lies: it is about everything!!

Gang warfare on streets of Chicago fueled by Sinaloa Cartel heroin

The drug trade in Chicago has helped fuel pervasive gang violence that has resulted in a quickly rising homicide rate. Chicago ended 2014 with 425 murders, and this year the city had seen 30 slayings by the end of January.

Now, however, the heavy-hitters from the criminal class appear to be moving to Chicago from south of the border and using the city’s ever-growing Mexican population to camouflage themselves and recruit new members.

“It’s not a new phenomenon up here in Chicago,” Wichern said. “Like any population, there will be a small element that gets involved in criminal activities.”

Cook County police say that the neighborhoods of Pilsen and Little Village, both of which are about 82 percent Hispanic according to Census data, have become hubs for Sinaloa Cartel associates who traffic heroin, cocaine, marijuana and methamphetamine across the city and – with easy access to the Stevenson, Dan Ryan, and Eisenhower Expressways – across the country.

Webmaster's Commentary:

And where is Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel in all of this mess?!?

Notably absent from any discussion or debate on the issue, and trying to get it at least somewhat under control, I see.

If the US government were going to make an intelligent move on the country's drug problems, they would simply decriminalize drugs, so the profit motive would absolutely disappear. Then, encourage people to get counseling, as did Portugal, which has done some incredible things in dealing with their addiction problems.

OF course, that...would be logical.

U.S. Pushes For War In Europe

It is pretty obvious that significant forces in Washington push for a big war in Europe, cold at least but hot if possible. European countries, aside from some small U.S. puppets, are well aware that they would be hit hard in such a war, and do not want it.

The U.S. wants to deliver additional weapons to Ukraine and to thereby goad Russia into such a wider war. The arguments made that such weapon delivers would somehow restrict Russia are just stupid and only hide the real plans: Escalation until Europe is (again) up in flames.

Should the U.S. win in its drive to escalate the situation by delivering more weapons to Kiev Russia will not cave in. History suggest that a Ukraine under NATO at its border is a deadly danger. Russia must and will take countermeasures. The U.S. will then cite those countermeasures as signs of "further aggression" and as justification for another round of escalation. A few more rounds of such and Europe will be up in flames.

Webmaster's Commentary:

As an American who does love her country very much, but is seriously concerned about the directions its (alleged) leadership is taking it, I almost feel like writing Putin a letter of apology, stating, very explicitly, that it appears that the US Federal Government has, collectively, lost its mind.

Additionally, it is lying about the situations which drove Crimea to ask to become part of the Russian Federation; Russia did not "annex" Crimea. Crimea had been a part of Russia until the mid 1950's when Khrushchev, a native of Ukraine, annexed it to Ukraine. When Urkaine's former president, Victor Yanukovych was dumped in a US/ECB/ western-centric putsch, the people of Crimea realized that there was no legitimate leadership in Kiev.

And that is when they had the referendum, in what was characterized by observers as a free and fair election, to ask to join the Russian Federation.

Russia has done absolutely nothing wrong here, folks.

I keep going back to the statement the Moriarty character makes in the 2nd Sherlock Homes movie, featuring Morton Downey Jr. I am paraphrasing here, but it is something to the effect of knowing that war is coming, and the Moriarty character wants to have the lock on bullets and bandaids.

That is no less true today, from the companies which will make insanely extensive profits from their participation in the coming wars, be they in the Middle East, or in Ukraine.

Brandon Keibler is just your ordinary 16-year-old from Southern Indiana. At least that's what some people might think. However, having become an activist at fourteen and helping to establish the Restore the Fourth organization, this young man has just launched an organization to encourage grassroots efforts aimed at a tyrannical government that wishes to disregard the fact that they are bound by law to gain a warrant before they search or seize anything of any American citizen. This also includes warrantless surveillance of individuals.

Not Quite Hell

It appears that the trans-national looting spree may be coming to a close. Word from Davos is that the elites are getting worried, buying bunkers and airstrips in remote locations, hoping to avoid the inevitable consequences of the global smash-and-grab they’ve been conducting since the collapse of the Soviet Union. It reminds me of George Romero’s original masterpiece, Night Of The Living Dead. Holing up in a remote farmhouse turns out to be not such a good idea when the zombies arrive. They’re dumb and they’re slow, but they’ve got the numbers. That movie struck terror in me in 1968, when it was first released. It took the appalling bloodbath of the 21st century to disabuse me of that fear by way of the startling revelation that we are the zombies.

Friedman Spreads Anti-Semitic Libels About Netanyahu Speech

Though the argument can be viewed as just one more spat promoted by an administration with an axe to grind against Netanyahu, with the talk of Democrats, even Vice President Biden, prepared to boycott the event because they see it an as an effort to aid Republican efforts to discredit President Obama’s foreign policy, the potential for real damage is no longer theoretical. But the most troubling development is not the ongoing arguments about whether the prime minister has committed a blunder. Rather, it is the willingness by some to use it to stoke anti-Israel libels. That’s the upshot of the latest column from the New York Times’s Thomas Friedman who claims Netanyahu’s speech will be seen as an attempt to force the U.S. into a war with Iran.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This article is damage control for Netanyahu by playing that well-worn "anti-Semite" card, but the fact is that Boehner and Netanyahu stumbled badly, putting Israel's control over the US Congress on full public view.

To Dance Away from the Lip of the Abyss

The greater the force of material culture; the greater the press and presence of Materialism, the less focus is generally placed upon things like self inquiry and a shared knowledge of the more timeless verities. The nature of Materialism is to compromise objective consciousness and render the public subjective. You don't need everyone to be so affected. You might not even need half of the people and they got more than that. All they need is enough of the culture so as to publicize and identify it that way and then that is 'how it looks' everywhere, except to those few who are strong enough; who are in possession of objective awareness due to having engaged in the requisite amount of self inquiry, or carrying that capacity within them from other times.

This Man Faces Life in Prison for ... Rapping

I've heard free speech isn't free, and Brandon Duncan, who raps as Tiny Doo, has learned that the hard way.

Until recently, Mr. Duncan spent eight months in jail on "gang conspiracy" charges arising from several shootings in San Diego from May 2013 to February 2014. Prosecutors admit he wasn't at the scene of the crimes, and they have no evidence linking him to the shootings. Mr. Duncan, who has no criminal record, also says he had no knowledge of the crimes. But the district attorney charged him all the same because he raps about shootings.

That's not only absurd; it's a blatant violation of the First Amendment.

Mr. Duncan, after all, is an artist, whose music reflects what he's seen. "I'm just painting a picture of urban street life," he recently told CNN's Don Lemon. "The studio's my canvas .... I'm not telling anyone to go out and kill somebody or go do something. I'm not doing anything differently than [Grammy-winning rapper] The Game."

Webmaster's Commentary:

Apparently, the San Diego District Attorney, eager for another "scalp" of conviction on his belt, has decided that he is going to convict this man through what appears to be "Code Napoleon" law, where the accused is considered guilty until proven innocent.

I would like to politely suggest to this guy that this is America, in the 21st century, and that the concept here, just in case he did not get the memo in law school (perhaps he should his alma mater over this) is that in this country, a person is considered innocent until proven guilty.

I sincerely doubt that rational people would convict a person about singing about what he knows, and for this gentleman, that is death, no real protection from police abuse, and that power comes from physical, brutal control of one's turf.

Unfortunately, this is not only Mr. Duncan's reality: it is also the reality for far too many minority kids in this country.

But the answer is not convicting people for writing about what they know, but changing that reality. That is going to take a lot of hard work, but will ultimately be worth it to American society as a whole.

Please remember: the US has the highest incarceration rate in the world.

FBI's 'We're From The Cable Company' Ruse Not Convincing To Magistrate Judge

The FBI's decision to impersonate repair technicians in order to perform a warrantless search is backfiring. Last July, FBI agents investigating an illegal gambling operation worked with Caesars Palace Casino to cut the internet connection to three villas it believed were the operation's ad hoc headquarters. It then sent agents disguised as repairmen to "fix" the problem. Once inside, these agents took photos, recorded video and otherwise observed what they believed to be an illegal bookmaking operation.

Shortly after this warrantless search, the FBI decided it was time to get a search warrant. In its warrant request, it conveniently left out the part where it cut the DSL connection and sent in agents dressed as repairmen. Because of this "fatally flawed" application, a Nevada magistrate judge is recommending the federal district court toss the warrant and suppress the evidence.

NYPD Commissioner: Because Terrorism And Protests Are Roughly The Same Thing, A New Special Unit Will Handle Both

The NYPD has created yet another special unit to handle the myriad problems that arise from being terrorists' occasional target. The SRG (Strategic Response Group) will be tasked with handling certain situations, most of which did not occur in New York City.

So… it's designed for dealing with protests -- the most recent of which were kicked off by the clearing of a cop who choked an unarmed man to death. The other two incidents have nothing to do with New York other than the fact that the NYPD sent its own officers overseas at the request of nobody.

Webmaster's Commentary:

S&P to pay $1.4 billion settlement to end probe stemming from '08 recession

One of the world's biggest credit rating agencies has agreed to pay United States prosecutors nearly $1.4 billion to settle claims it defrauded investors ahead of the 2008 financial crisis.

Under the terms of the settlement acknowledged on Tuesday this week, Wall Street giant Standard & Poor's will pay a total of $1.375 billion in order to settle allegations that it knowingly defrauded investors by manipulating interest rates ahead of the 2008 financial crisis.

S&P's parent company, McGraw Hill Financial Inc., said in a statement that the agreement consists of two major payments: $687.5 million to the US Department of Justice, and $687.5 million to 19 states and the District of Columbia, settling federal and regional lawsuits filed over the recession.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This agreement is only a slap on the wrist for a company of this financial magnitude.

And I see money going to the DOJ and to various states: but by what mechanism will those who were defrauded get even a portion of their money back?

And AGAIN, no one goes to jail, not even to a "club Fed"?!?

EVERYONE who signed off and/or participated in this con job should be doing hard time, and not at a Club Fed; this is the only way to break the cycle of financial thievery in large financial institutions.

Of course, given the large amounts of donations financial institutions give lavishly to both political parties, both overtly and covertly, the above will only happen when pigs fly.

But it's hard to see how those non-tariff barriers can be harmonized without a race to the bottom in terms of regulations, since no one is calling for a race to the top. Beyond Snowden: US General Cartwright has been indicted for espionage

US General James Cartwright was regarded by Washington insiders as ‘Obama’s General’, and now he’s facing prosecution for blowing the whistle on ‘Operation Olympic Games’ which planted the Stuxnet and Flame viruses in Iranian nuclear facilities in order derail Iran’s civilian nuclear program. At closer examination, it appears that Cartwright’s revelations didn’t so much harm US interests per say, but they hindered Israeli ambitions towards a war with Iran.

But why espionage? What is the line between “whistleblowing” and “espionage” in America today?

Webmaster's Commentary:

Can you imagine the fear?

Maybe you don't have to. Maybe you are old enough to remember Three Mile Island, or Chernobyl. Maybe you're one of the people living around the Pacific where the radiation meters have been singing their songs of death since Fukushima.

Can you feel the horror? There is an invisible killer dancing in the air. Maybe hiding in that rain drop. You cannot know for sure.

That metallic taste in your mouth; is it being that scared? Or is it something ... worse?

You cannot know for sure. There is an invisible killer dancing in the air.

You wish you could stop breathing, but of course you can't. And with each breath comes an unspoken question; Is this the breath during which I inhale my own end? Is there an irrevocable link between this breath and my final breath to come? Is this the breath that deforms my unborn child? Is this the breath that transforms my future from an old age filled with family and friends, to loneliness, lingering pain, and a horrible death?

You cannot know for sure. There is an invisible killer dancing in the air.

Or maybe it was on that stamp you licked, or in the wine you drank, or the cookie you ate.

Maybe you showered with the killer, slept with the killer, shared your clothes with the killer.

You cannot know for sure. There is an invisible killer dancing in the air.

Now imagine living with that fear, day after day after day; fear for yourself, fear for the lives and health of your loved ones. Imagine the long sleepless nights wondering if the next day will invite the killer into your home; if the rain will wash the killer onto the food you will eat.

Imagine.

Then imagine a monster so evil they would inflict that endless fear onto innocent and unoffending people.

Then stop imagining, because it really happened, but just once but twice.

What happened by accident at Three-Mile Island, Chernobyl, and Fukushima was done intentionally by Israel to the people of Iraq, when Israel bombed the nuclear power plant at Osirik in the erroneous assumption that Iraq was building nuclear weapons. Then Israel did it again in Syria. Thankfully, there were no nuclear weapons at the Iraq or Syrian targets, or the people of Iraq and Syria would have suffered what those people living downwind from Three-Mile Island, Chernobyl, and Fukushima (and indeed the whole northern hemisphere) all suffered.

But no doubt, those innocent and unoffending Iraqi and Syrian people knew the fear of wondering whether the silent killer was there in their homes moment to moment, just as you are wondering whether the silent killer is in your home this very moment, even as you read these words.

Israel did that to those people; cursed them with that endless dread that lingered for months on end.

And now Israel wants to bomb more nuclear facilities in Iran or infect it with a computer virus to cause a melt-down, so that what happened by accident at Three-Mile Island, Chernobyl, and Fukushima, will be done deliberately to the people of Iran, who have not invaded or threatened anyone.

There are indeed monsters living among us.

And we know them by their deeds.

Just think about that when you are lying in the dark, afraid to breathe.

How America's Sporting Events Have Turned into Mass Religious Events to Bless Wars and Militarism

The Fourth of July worship service that I attended last week—a game between the Red Sox and the Baltimore Orioles—was a day late because of a rescheduling caused by Tropical Storm Arthur. When the crowd sang “The Star-Spangled Banner” a gargantuan American flag descended to cover “the Green Monster,” the 37-foot, 2-inch-high wall in left field. Patriotic music blasted from loudspeakers. Col. Lester A. Weilacher, commander of the 66th Air Base Group at Massachusetts’ Hanscom Air Force Base, wearing a light blue short-sleeved Air Force shirt and dark blue pants, threw the ceremonial first pitch. A line of Air Force personnel stood along the left field wall. The fighter jets—our angels of death—that usually roar over the stadium on the Fourth were absent.

Blowback: Charlie Hebdo and the Contradictions of Western Policy

The Western defense of freedom of expression in the face of attacks by Islamic fundamentalists has not always been so unequivocal, however. Indeed, from the start of the Mohammed cartoon controversy, the support of some Western governments – including the French – for Jyllands Posten, Charlie Hebdo and other “offenders” has been tepid at best. For instance, far from defending the rights of Charlie Hebdo upon the paper’s publication of the cartoons in 2006, then French President Jacques Chirac promptly denounced what he termed as “obvious provocations” and warned that “anything that could offend other people’s convictions, in particular religious convictions, should be avoided.”

In this debate between classical Western freedoms and notions of Islamic piety, one of the few French leaders to clearly come down on the side of the former was then Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy. “All told, I prefer too much caricature to too much censorship,” Sarkozy dryly remarked.

A Little Super Sunday Sermon of Benevolent Intent.

It is the nature of the forces of darkness to go after anyone who is engaged in actions that threaten the command towers of the negative. If you're getting serious opposition in your course, you could be going the right way (grin). The most important thing that anyone seeking to serve the forces of light has to remember is that absolute and convincing victory may not be the result of one's life efforts. Sometimes in war one winds up on a suicide mission for the greater good. Sometimes one is set out to draw the enemies attention away from a particular flank or strategy. Individual players need always be aware of their individual insignificance over the long course of the near incomprehensible intent of The Logos in its far reaching plan across centuries and millennia.

Dead at the Stupor Bowl from an American Sniper

Yes... before you tell me about it, I am well aware of the sham and pretension. I am well aware that this is a corporate field day; a triumph of Materialism over humanity and the day will be filled with gross and painful examples of it. Why then do you watch this kind of crap, Visible? Well... along the road to self realization and whatever part or portion of enlightenment I might be capable of, other things cross my attention screen. Though we may seek to reside completely in the present, we are, to some degree a reflection of our past and while Visible was growing up and even to the present, he has played these games.

WATCH: Baltimore girl left bleeding after officer attacks her with a baton

Webmaster's Commentary:

So, THIS is the "new normal" for inner city teens?!?

No bloody wonder there is such an horrific school to prison pipeline!!

Apparently, for the Baltimore PD, this is how they interpret "to protect and serve" for school children.

Most probably, the kids and their families here are phenomenally lucky that they did not get shot dead.

Massive blaze devastates Russian library housing unique documents, ancient texts

One of Russia's largest academic libraries, which contains millions of unique historic documents, has gone up in flames in Moscow. A part of the building’s roof collapsed before dozens of fire fighters managed to contain the blaze.

The fire erupted at around 10 pm local time (7 pm GMT) on the third floor of the Academic Institute of Scientific Information on Social Sciences (INION) in Moscow. According to the Emergency Situations Ministry, some 2,000 square meters were engulfed in flames, prompting the roof to cave in.

Webmaster's Commentary:

And JUST as Russia was going to release their documents about Auschwitz!!!!!!!

UC Davis passes divestment resolution, five other campaigns launched across US

Last night, the student government at the University of California at Davis voted in favor of a resolution to divest from corporations profiting from Israel’s occupation.

In a landslide vote — eight voting yes, two against and two abstaining — the student government at UC Davis recommended that the University of California system’s governing body divest from Caterpillar, G4S, Veolia Environment and Raytheon.

The divestment victory comes just months after the UC Davis administration appeared to be receptive to efforts by the Anti-Defamation League — a leading Israel lobby group — to treat boycott, divestment and sanctions efforts as “hostile events” that the university should deem security threats.

Police Push For Anti-Cop Comments To Be Legally Considered ‘Hate Speech’

The National Fraternal Order of Police is pushing for legislation to classify anti-police comments as “hate speech.” The 300,000 strong FOP says that police officers should fall under the Congressional hate crimes statute, and should thus be regarded as a protected minority.

This bold move comes on the heels of two New York City police officers, Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu, who were killed in the line of duty.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is a very slippery slope, folks.

And please remember: the Constitution and Bill of Rights is the government's "Contract With America".

What happens to a society when the expression of truth and logic becomes criminalized?!?

What happens to a society when allegations of police brutality are not allowed to be proven true because the truth on that brutality, logically documented, has become "hate speech" or "hate information"?!?

I never would want to see a good police officer hurt in any way; and a good police officer is someone who understands, and really gets, what the phrase "to protect and serve" really means.

But having said that, I would strongly suggest that Mr. Canterbury, the head of the police union, think very seriously about how police are being trained to use excessive force in 21st century America.

There is the continuing nightmare for the people of Albuquerque , New Mexico, concerning the impunity with which their police officers kill and maim, particularly the homeless and mentally ill. This very much has to do with their training, and leadership. As reported in Alternet.org in December of last year:

From across town, an off-duty cop named Sean Wallace heard the alert blare through his scanner, then barreled over to the scene before a crisis intervention officer could arrive. Without provocation, Wallace opened fire, killing Alan Gomez with a high-powered rifle as he entered the house through a screen door. The troubled young man was holding nothing in his hand but a plastic spoon. With his death, Alan Gomez joined the list of at least 27 people killed by Albuquerque police officers since 2010, and the more than 40 wounded by gunfire. In a city of just over 540,000, the body count is staggering. Indeed, the rate of officer-involved shootings by Albuquerque police is eight times that of the NYPD and two times higher than in Chicago, a megalopolis with one of the steepest levels of violent crime in the country. A damning report released this April by the Department of Justice concluded that the “Albuquerque police department engages in a pattern or practice of unconstitutional use of deadly force.” It went on to accuse members of the department of having “shot and killed civilians who did not pose an imminent threat of serious bodily harm or death to the officers or others.” The report singled out Wallace for killing Gomez when "no one's life was in danger and an APD negotiator was on his way to the scene.''

I would suggest, very soberly, to Mr. Canterbury, that these incidents, and incidents like them around the country are no accident; they are a deliberate result of the training these officers have received.

Couple this with the reality that many American peace officers have been, and are being trained my members, or former members, of the IDF, and you have a recipe for multiple human rights and civil rights disasters.

VIDEO: Birds of a Feather: John McCain Defends Henry Kissinger

Yet, while McCain’s support of the Vietnam war, Iraq War, Syrian War, Libyan war, and virtually every war that was ever waged and those that ever will be waged upon the face of the earth, has resulted in the death of millions of people, McCain found himself in the presence of one of the true kings of killing in Henry Kissinger.

Indeed, Kissinger is one of the true living figures whose feet most psychopathic killers the world over still long to kneel at.

Kissinger’s direction of the Chilean coup, Vietnam war, Cambodian andLaotian tragedies, and his famousNational Security Study Memorandum 200: Implications of Worldwide Population Growth for U.S. Security and Overseas Interests (NSSM200) has earned him a special place amongst the world’s most effective mass murders, although admittedly not the most widely known.

Webmaster's Commentary:

And please remember: Kissinger, like Obama, was a recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize.

Uh.... "peace" for whom, please?!?!?

Police Union: You Can Have Safe Neighborhoods Or Be Free Of Flashbang-Burned Toddlers, But Not Both

A Georgia state senator has announced a bill to limit the use of no-knock warrants. These warrants have gone from the exception to the rule over the past several years, as our nation's drug warriors apparently labor under the assumption that drug dealers keep banker's hours.

Of course, no-knock raids have resulted in plenty of collateral damage -- both to cops and civilians -- as the element of surprise tends to be bullet-and-flashbang heavy. It's the use of flashbang grenades that has prompted this new legislation, which unfortunately puts it into the category of "Laws Named After Victims," most of which are written badly and hastily.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The "war on drugs" is turning out no differently than have any other "war on....fill in the blank" which are supposed to make things better in this country, and absolutely do not.

The alleged "war on drugs" is an absolute, sick joke, engineered to fill jails with prison slave labor and make bankers more filthy rich by laundering the drug money, period, end of discussion.

IF the Federal and state agencies wanted to really get rid of drugs, they would have the "male attributes" to decriminalize all drugs, to take the profit motive out of the drug trade, and cause it to collapse of its own weight. These Federal and State agencies would then encourage people on drugs to get counseling.

OF course, all this... would be logical; and logic is no longer an attribute any sane American can expect from any governmental entity, Federal or state.

New NYPD Anti-Terror Unit Will Get Machine Guns To Police Protesters

Murders reached a historic low in NYC for 2014; overall crime was down across the board by nearly 5%; hell, even the holiday slowdown didn't really lead to any additional crime. So clearly, now is the time when NYC really needs to implement a new anti-terrorism program which would empower a team of NYPD officers to roam around the city carrying machine guns. What could go wrong?

Police Commissioner Bratton made the announcement earlier today at an event hosted by the Police Foundation at the Mandarin Oriental. He said that the new 350 cop unit, called The Strategic Response Group, will be dedicated to "disorder control and counterterrorism protection capabilities" against attacks like the hostage situation in Sydney, which the NYPD's Deputy Commissioner of Intelligence John Miller said was an inevitability in NYC.

Webmaster's Commentary:

A more militarized police, armed with machine guns, means more abuses, and more maiming and killing of innocent people.

And what if the protests are completely peaceful; will police open fire, just to prove they can, when people try to express their first amendment rights, with utterly no violence whatsoever?!?

IS this what other big city police commissioners are going to allow to happen in their cities, with impunity?!?

People with skills and kids, please get the hell out of this country while you still can; staying here may well be hazardous to the health of your entire family.

US 'routinely' violates judicial rights, fails to punish torture - HRW

The global rights watchdog examined global human rights practices, shedding light on the US criminal justice system, with the resulting report published Thursday. Despite achieving some key improvements on such issues as migrants’ rights, there is a major field for reforms in the US – abusive practices against migrants and minorities, as well as mass surveillance practices and Guantanamo Bay detention camp need some action on the governmental level, according to HRW.

Joseph Weekley, Cop Who Fatally Shot Sleeping 7-Year-Old, Will No Longer Face Charges

The Detroit police officer who fatally shot a sleeping 7-year-old girl will not be retried, officials said Wednesday.

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy said in a statement that her office was moving to dismiss the case against Officer Joseph Weekley. He was originally charged with involuntary manslaughter and careless discharge of a firearm causing death, a misdemeanor, after Aiyana Stanley-Jones was killed in 2010 during a botched police raid at her home.

Weekley's first trial in 2013 ended in a mistrial. In a second trial last year, Wayne County Circuit Court Judge Cynthia Gray Hathaway dismissed the manslaughter charge after a motion by the defense. The jury again deadlocked while deliberating whether to convict Weekley of the lesser charge, causing a second mistrial.

Webmaster's Commentary:

OK, it's official: US cops can shoot children dead with impunity, and there is absolutely mechanism within US law with which to stop them in 2015.

"Justice" failed this little girl and her family entirely.

WATCH: Seattle cop pepper-sprays teacher directly in face for walking too close

Jesse Hagopian, who spoke at the event about how black lives matter, was making arrangements by cell phone with his mother to attend his son’s second birthday party when he passed a Seattle police officer screaming at passersby.

Video of the Jan. 19 incident shows the officer and some others standing at a police barricade as she orders a small, peaceful crowd – most of whom were walking past the police – to disperse.

Hagopian said officers set up a barricade with their bicycles to prevent protesters from marching, and he said some participants walked through the line – but he did not.

“Stand back, stand back,” the officer screams as she holds a canister of pepper spray.

Suddenly, as Hagopian walks past talking on his cell phone, the officer blasts pepper spray – which the video shows hits him and an unidentified woman directly in the face.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Unfortunately, Seattle's cops are not unique "poster children" for police behaving badly in this country; this kind of out-of-control behaviour is endemic by police in our large cities, as well as small towns.

Deep in a Mangrove Swamp with a Broken Leg and a Busted Crutch

One of the things that happens to the human consciousness when it is immersed in material culture is that it forgets what it actually is and begins to accept the identity programmed into it by the force of materialism, thus rendering this potentially cosmos embracing force into that of a mindless consumer, being herded in one direction after another by the hidden persuaders. Most of humanity is then rendered into hundreds of millions of pinballs bouncing into bumpers that generate lights and noises. It doesn't matter how proficient the player is, eventually the pinball goes down the bottom chute. After that, all sense of play and engagement in the magnetic fields of delusional life ends; at least for the moment... a new game... a new life... maybe the playing field looks different. It is still on an incline though and the same way that casinos make incredible profits, regardless of the occasional big winners is because the odds favor the house.

TSA Plans to Remove Social Media Screening From Airport Security Proposal

The US Transportation Security Administration (TSA) announced that it was going to remove social media and purchase history screening from an updated amendment to the proposal concerning the security control at airports.

MOSCOW, January 27 (Sputnik), Anastasia Levchenko — The US Transportation Security Administration (TSA) told Sputnik on Tuesday that it plans to remove social media and purchase history screening from its proposal concerning the security control at airports.

"The line on social media and purchase history was inadvertently included in this request for proposal (RFP), and will be removed in an updated amendment to the solicitation. All proposals will be evaluated for privacy and civil liberties risks," a TSA press officer said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It will be interesting to see if the final wording includes - or does not include - this language about social media posts, and purchasing activity.

I have made no bones about what I think of the TSA (tourist suppression agency) here on this blog.

And for all the crotch groping and downright thievery from passengers, to date, this group of individuals has not caught one single baddie, determined to do us harm.

The agency exists NOT to protect Americans, but to badger the American people into unthinking acceptance of governmental authority.

And note just how quickly the American character has morphed from "the land of the free...and the home of the brave" to "the land of the cowed...and the home of the surveilled."
