Bahrain says deadly bus attack engineered by Iran

Bahrain said on Wednesday a bomb attack on a police bus which killed an officer and wounded nine last month was carried out by a militant cell trained by its arch-foe Iran.

After authorities quashed Shi‘ite Muslim-led ”Arab Spring” protests on the Sunni-ruled island in 2011, militants have launched deadly bombing and shooting attacks against security forces that Bahrain blames on Tehran’s Shi‘ite theocracy.

Iran denies any role in Bahrain’s unrest.

There was no immediate Iranian reaction to Wednesday’s Bahraini interior ministry statement, which added that authorities had arrested one member of the cell while others were fugitives in Iran.

“The terrorist cell received extensive training in Iranian Revolutionary Guard camps on the use and manufacture of explosives and firearms, as well as material and logistical support,” the ministry said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

And of course, the Sunni government of Bahrain, with a human rights record just to the right of that of Attila the Hun, couldn't possibly have any of its predominanly Shiite population be the least bit upset, whatsoever, at its complete repression of its citizens' basic human rights, could it?!?

The Bahrainis LOVE their government, particularly as it tortures confessions out of peaceful protestors who are simply asking for a constitutional monarchy; throws them into prisons for inordinantely long sentences for crimes they did not commit; and denies their humanity, simply because they practice a different version of Islam than that of the Al Khalifa monarchy.

What could POSSIBLY go wrong here, with these horrifically lousy situations, except everything?!?

Looks as though geopolitically, when in doubt these days, and people don't want to take responsibility for the consequences of their actions, the game here is, blame Iran, or blame Russia!!

FACT: In July 1950, North Korea Defeated The U.S. Army (Could It Happen Again?)

What happened next seems inevitable in hindsight. The U.S. howitzers had HEAT antitank rounds, but only a few, and too few to stop the North Korean tanks from overrunning the American positions. The tank assault should have been repulsed by Task Force Smith’s bazookas, except that the rockets couldn’t penetrate the armor of the Soviet-made vehicles.

China sending special envoy to North Korea days after Trump's visit

Following President Trump’s visit to Beijing, China said Wednesday that it would send a high-level special envoy to North Korea amid an extended chill in relations between the neighbors over Pyongyang’s nuclear weapons and missile programs.

Song Tao, the head of China’s ruling Communist Party’s International Department, will travel to Pyongyang on Friday to report on outcomes of the party’s national congress held last month, the official Xinhua News Agency said.

Xinhua said Song, as president and party leader Xi Jinping’s special envoy, would carry out a “visit” in addition to delivering his report, but gave no details about his itinerary or meetings. It also made no mention of Trump’s trip to Beijing or the North’s weapons programs, although Trump has repeatedly called on Beijing to do more to use its influence to pressure Pyongyang into altering its behavior.

17 million in Yemen need food - now hospitals and water pumps will run out of fuel in three weeks

THE UNITED NATIONS warned today that fuel supplies needed to run Yemen’s hospital generators and pump clean water will run out in less than three weeks unless the Saudi-led coalition lifts its blockade.
The dire forecast came as Yemen battles one of the world’s worst outbreaks of cholera, with nearly one million people infected. Some 2,200 people have died.
Adding to the woes of aid workers on the ground, stocks of diphtheria vaccines will be emptied in two weeks unless aid deliveries are once again allowed in the country, UN spokesman Farhan Haq said.

The Saudi-led military coalition shut down Yemen’s sea and air ports as well as borders on 6 November in response to a missile attack by the Iran-backed Huthi rebels near Riyadh.

UN aid chief Mark Lowcock warned last week that unless the blockade was lifted, Yemen will face “the largest famine the world has seen for many decades, with millions of victims.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

You have to understand; this is precisely the outcome the Butcher of Yemen, AKA Saudi Arabia's Prince Salman, wants to see happen; a Yemeni genocide, courtesy of massive malnutrition and disease.

Police: We knew he had a stockpile of guns, and we knew he was in violation of a court order barring him from having guns. We just waited until the inevitable happened before we tried to stop him

US to Continue Refueling Saudi Warplanes During Yemen Attacks

The US Air Force plans to keep refueling Saudi Arabian warplanes committing atrocities in Yemen that have led to the world’s most pressing humanitarian crisis, according to the United Nations.
The US House of Representatives voted overwhelmingly in support of House Resolution 599 Monday, passing the measure by a vote of 366-30. The bipartisan bill does not prevent US tankers from providing fuel to Saudi warplanes but does call for a political solution to the crisis, which House Democrats apparently saw as a compromise.

Riyadh Secretly Recognizes Coalition Plane Bombed Funeral in Yemen's Sanaa

Webmaster's Commentary:

"Compromise", MY ASTROLABE!!

It is financially very profitable for the US merchants of death to continue to supply Saudi Arabia with the bombs and bullets which kill, and maim for life, innocent infants, toddlers, women, and the medically fragile elderly.

These same corporations, the heads of which have all had their consciences surgically removed before taking office, contribute generously to both parties, so why shouldn't the assassinations of Yemeni innocents continue, as long as they are profitable?!? That is the only thing that matters anymore in American society, profitability, right?!?

Here is what that "profitability" is looking like to Yemeni kids these days:

Images: Yemeni children, killed or maimed for life from Saudi bombings

More images: Yemeni Children being killed and maimed for life from Saudi Bombings

And BTW, dear reader, how does it make you feel to be a citizen of a country colluding with Saudi Arabia in crimes in Yemen?!?

This is a question every thinking American needs to be asking themselves right now.

Mitchell assures Poroshenko about U.S. readiness to increase price for Moscow if aggression continues

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has met with U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Aaron Wess Mitchell. The men discussed a wide variety of issues about bilateral Ukraine-U.S. ties, including efforts to support Ukraine in restoring its territorial integrity.

"Mitchell confirmed readiness to continue supporting efforts of Ukraine to restore its sovereignty and territorial integrity and, if necessary, to raise the price Moscow would pay for continuing aggression against the Ukrainian state," the Ukrainian president's website said on Wednesday.

"The sides emphasized the importance of new approaches and bold initiatives for the fleshing out of the strategic partnership between Ukraine and the United States - from the enhanced interaction in politics, trade, economy and energy to the strengthening of the partnership between the countries in the area of defense and security," the press service said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

As the late, and brilliant, Joan Rivers used to say, "Can we talk?!?"

Any veilled threat of forcing Crimea back to Ukraine is just complete and utter codswallop, wrapped in palatable language. Don't forget the following:

Washington Was Behind Ukraine Coup: Obama admits that US “Brokered a Deal” in Support of “Regime Change”

The article goes on to state:

"US President Barack Obama revealed the United States’ involvement in the Ukrainian crisis from its outset and admitted that the United States “had brokered a deal to transition power in Ukraine.”

US President Barack Obama’s recent interview with CNN’s Fareed Zakiria reveals the United States’ involvement in the Ukrainian crisis from its outset and that the country worked directly with Ukrainian right-wing fascist groups, experts told Sputnik.

On Sunday, in his interview with CNN, Obama admitted that the United States “had brokered a deal to transition power in Ukraine.”

“Obama’s statement is reiterating something that the world public opinion already knew — the US was involved in the coup of [ex-Ukrainian President] Viktor Yanukovych from the start. History shows us that the US has overthrown numerous governments in Latin America, Asia and Africa and replaced them with leaders that ruled with a fascist ideology that proved useful for Washington’s geopolitical interests,” independent researcher and writer Timothy Alexander Guzman told Sputnik.

Yanukovych’s decision to not sign an association agreement with the European Union in late 2013 triggered a mass wave of protests across Ukraine, culminating in the February 2014 coup. Following the transition of power, Kiev forces launched a military operation against those who refused to recognize the legitimacy of the new government."

What Crimea did, when they understood that there was no more legitimate government in Kiev, was to hold a referendum, asking its people if they wanted to stay with the regime-changed Ukraine, or petition the Russian Federation to become a member. Overwhelmlingly, in a free and fair referendum, they voted to petition the Russian Federation to become a member, and the Russian Federation accepted their request.

There was no "Russian annexation of Crimea" whatsoever; but the Crimean referendum was never accepted by the US or the West, hence, Russia got, and continues to get, punished for something it never did, period, end of discussion.

DAKOTA ACCESS PIPELINE COMPANY PAID MERCENARIES TO BUILD CONSPIRACY LAWSUIT AGAINST ENVIRONMENTALISTS

THE PRIVATE SECURITY firm TigerSwan, hired by Energy Transfer Partners to protect the controversial Dakota Access pipeline, was paid to gather information for what would become a sprawling conspiracy lawsuit accusing environmentalist groups of inciting the anti-pipeline protests in an effort to increase donations, three former TigerSwan contractors told The Intercept.

For months, a conference room wall at TigerSwan’s Apex, North Carolina, headquarters was covered with a web-like map of funding nodes the firm believed it had uncovered — linking billionaire backers to nonprofit organizations to pipeline opponents protesting at Standing Rock. It was a “showpiece” for board members and ETP executives, according to a former TigerSwan contractor — part of a project that had little to do with the pipeline’s physical security.

Why ‘Our Culture Is Undergoing a Hostile Takeover’

Our culture is undergoing a hostile takeover. American society used to be governed by Judeo-Christian, “do-unto-others” morals. But we have drifted (been pushed, really) into a hedonistic YOLO (You Only Live Once) cultural morass.

The upshot of this is a distinct lack of respect for human life in general, as well as a pervasive, insidious obsession with self.

This is the “me” generation, the “selfie” culture, the “entitlement” mentality. And what is entitlement, except the narcissistic assumption of deserving and demanding what is not earned?

Do Trump's Liberal Critics Seem Increasingly Unhinged?

It is understandable that folks would be riled by Trump’s bluster about revoking the broadcast licenses of his critics or calling for the firing of protesting football players. But while Trump poses plenty of constitutional perils, many of his opponents are even more authoritarian.

Opium Production Up 87 Percent in Afghanistan

***
Moreover, the report highlights the failure of the U.S. counternarcotics strategy in Afghanistan.

The U.S. has spent nearly $8.6 billion in interdicting and eradicating opium production in Afghanistan, according to recent SIGAR estimates.

Despite U.S. efforts, cultivation of poppy has steadily increased in Afghanistan since the U.S. invasion in 2001.

To add insult to injury, this year, the Afghan government managed to eradicate 750 hectares of poppy, a 111 percent increase from last year, but the country still witnessed record opium production despite best efforts.

“Afghanistan remains the world’s largest opium producer and exporter — producing an estimated 80% of the world’s opium,” the latest SIGAR report reads.

Venezuela Signs $3.2 Billion Debt Restructuring Deal With Russia

As Venezuela teeters right on the brink of complete financial collapse, Bloomberg reports that Russia has agreed to restructure roughly $3.2 billion in outstanding obligations. While details of the restructuring agreement are scarce, both sides reported that the deal spreads payments out over 10 years with minimal cash service required over the next six years.

Russia signed an agreement to restructure $3.15 billion of debt owed by Venezuela, throwing a lifeline to a crisis-wracked ally that’s struggling to repay creditors.

The deal spreads the loan payments out over a decade, with “minimal” payments over the first six years, the Russian Finance Ministry said in a statement. The pact doesn’t cover obligations of state oil company Petroleos de Venezuela SA to its Russian counterpart Rosneft PJSC, however.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Putin, is always a million chess moves ahead of the US government in terms of geopolitical matters, and the issue of having thrown a financial lifeline to the Venezuelan government, is no exception here.

FDA Approves New Digital Sensor To Ensure "Patients With Mental Health Issues" Take Their Meds

It will “ensure” that patients who suffer from mental health issues take their medicine when they are told. But privacy concerns have not gone unnoticed.

Regulators in the United States have approved the first pill that can be digitally tracked as it makes its way through the human body. The Abilify MyCite aripiprazole tablets used for treating schizophrenia and manic episodes have an ingestible sensor embedded inside them that records that the medication has been taken. A patch worn by the patient transmits this information to their smartphone.

But many are raising the red flag that this could simply be another form of medical “big brother.” You may no longer have the right to refuse medications in the very near future.

The Abilify MyCite features a sensor the size of a grain of sand made of silicon, copper, and magnesium. An electrical signal is activated when the sensor comes into contact with stomach acid - the sensor then passes through the body naturally.

Libya's Slave Auctions And African Genocide: What Hillary Knew

A new CNN investigation has uncovered a network of slave markets operating in warehouses in various cities across Libya six years after NATO-led intervention in the country toppled the government of Muammar Gaddafi in support of US and UK backed rebels. And not only did CNN confirm the presence of slave auctions where human beings are being sold for as little as $400 in "liberated" Libya, but CNN's crew was actually able to film a live auction in progress, while also gathering the testimonies of multiple victims.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Oh, it can be aptly said that Secretary of State Clinton does, really, care about people; that is, if they had the serious money enabling them to "pay to play", and receive diplomatic favors from her.

Clinton understood what was going to happen, but she allowed it to happen to these people, because from her perspective, those enslaved Libyans were simply the counterparts of the US nationals she characterized as "deplorables"; poor, uneducated, and victims of their fate because they have been "gamed" by the very Libyan rebels she had supported.

Fake 'Bernie Bernstein' robocaller offered cash for dirt on Roy Moore

Just when you thought the Roy Moore story couldn’t get weirder, a pastor in Alabama said he received a robocall from someone claiming to be a Washington Post reporter offering up to $7,000 to “make damaging remarks” about the Republican candidate, Mobile, Alabama, TV station WKRG reported Tuesday.

Saudi-Israeli Collusion? Is Israel Seeking Role as Leader of the Sunni Bloc?

Israel has instructed its overseas embassies to lobby their respective host countries in support of Saudi Arabia and its apparent efforts to destabilise Lebanon, a recently leaked diplomatic cable shows.

The cable appears to be the first formal confirmation of rumours that Israel and Saudi Arabia are colluding to stoke tensions in the region.

Sent by the Israeli foreign ministry and disclosed by Israel’s Channel 10 news this week, the cable demanded that diplomats stress Iran and Hezbollah’s engagement in “regional subversion”.

That closely echoes accusations Riyadh levelled against Tehran and the Lebanese faction in recent days.

Analysts have noted that diplomatic moves by Israel to intervene directly in a seemingly internal Arab matter are “very rare”.

Yossi Alpher, a former adviser to Ehud Barak when he was Israeli prime minister, called the cable “extremely presumptuous”.

Webmaster's Commentary:

You have to remember that Netanyahu is facing a bribery/corruption charge at home. this makes him a very politically vulnerable "wounded animal" in Israeli politics, and and all wounded animals are dangerous.

This new purge by Prince Salman may have been interpreted by Netanyahu as a "the enemy of my enemy (Iran/Hezbullah) is my friend" moment, to further factionalize the Middle East, and potentially give him the momentum to attack both Lebanon and Iran, to misdirect political attention away from his corruption issues, and toward those countries which have been declared Israel's "existential enemies" in the region.

ISRAEL USES U.S. TAX DOLLARS TO ABUSE PALESTINIAN CHILDREN. THIS BILL WOULD PUT AN END TO THAT.

CHILDREN AND TEENAGERS are frequent victims of Israel’s occupation of the Palestinian territories. They face physical abuse by Israeli military forces and are shuffled through an unfair court system without access to legal counsel or even their parents.

The United States has long subsidized these abuses, giving billions of dollars in military aid to Israel every year. Now, a group of Democratic members of Congress is saying enough is enough.

Rep. Betty McCollum, D-Minn., and nine co-sponsors on Tuesday introduced legislation that would require the U.S. State Department to certify every year that American military aid is not being used to fund the systematic abuse of Palestinian children.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Good on all the sponsors of this bill; unfortunately, however, I would politely suggest that, due to the direct pressure from AIPAC and Israel (and why are members of AIPAC not required to register as representatives of a foreign country, BTW?!?), this bill has as much likelihood of passing as do pigs discovering that they are aerodynamic.

Netanyahu: Israel Will Act Alone to Force Iran Out of Syria

On Tuesday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov confirmed that the most recent ceasefire announcement did not involve any commitment for Russia to force Iran out of Syria, saying that Iran can maintain a legitimate presence in Syria.

This isn’t sitting well with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who urged the world to unite and force Iran out of Syria at all costs. Now, he’s saying Israel is prepared to act alone to ensure Iran has no permanent presence there.

The narrative of Iran even wanting a “permanent” presence in Syria seems to be more or less wholly an Israeli creation, based on reports of building at a Syrian military facility somehow being extrapolated to it being an “Iranian base.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Translation: Israel's Netanyahu has just declared war on Syria.

But of course, in light of the reality that Netanyahu's corruption trial is about to move forward,
Netanyahu to see bribery charges, what can one reasonably expect him to do, sit down and hum "Kumbiya"?!?

He is a politically wounded animal at this point; and politically wounded animals are highly dangerous.

Do not rule out some incredibly brazen Israeli military actions against Iran, Lebanon, or Syria, at this point, and rather immediately.

House Passes $700 Billion Military Spending Bill

The House and Senate had some differences on the 2018 military spending bill, but reached a compromise last week. The House passed this $700 billion spending and policy bill Tuesday with a 356-70 vote.

The bill includes $634 billion for “core operations,” and $66 billion in Overseas Contingency Operations (OCO). The OCO budget is notoriously used by the Pentagon to shift money around to various programs as officials see fit without having to ask Congress to fund them.

This massive bill is the culmination of months of officials trying to outspend one another, with President Trump proposing what he described as one of the biggest increases ever, followed by both houses of Congress outdoing that, and then trying to outdo each other.

This bill includes funding for myriad new research schemes, including the possibility of creating a new Space Corps and fighting wars in space. It also attempts to assert more Armed Services Committee oversight over military cyber operations.

Webmaster's Commentary:

We have reached a phase in American governance where US legislators no longer represent their alleged constituents; they only represent the corporations which own them, and a large swathe of them are from the military/industrial complex.

I am sure that many of these CEOS are absolutely and thoroughly delighted in how their current "legislative assets" have paid off, royally, for them.

UN General Assembly Adopts Resolution Condemning Crimea Human Rights Violations

The UN General Assembly’s Third Committee adopted a resolution on Tuesday condemning human rights violations against the residents of Crimea by the Russian Federation in the move described by Anatoly Viktorov, Russian human rights authority, as another Ukraine's attempt to move forward its own political agenda by distorting the reality.

Crimea seceded from Ukraine and reunified with Russia after 96 percent of its residents supported the move in a referendum in March 2014. The vote was held after new authorities took power in Kiev after what many considered to be a coup.

Webmaster's Commentary:

ARE YOU FLIPPING KIDDING ME?!?!?

Is "peaceful self-determination" NOT enshrined in the UN Charter, a reality which all UN members must accept, even Ukraine?!?

Now, what?!?

Hillary Clinton PERSONALLY Overturned Visa Ban for Islamist Figure Now Accused of Rape

European Islamist scion Tariq Ramadan was banned from the U.S. by the Bush administration in February 2004 for his financial support of a charity that funded terrorist groups. In January 2010, then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton overturned that ban. Clinton personally approved a visa for the controversial grandson of the founder of the Muslim Brotherhood.

Now, Tariq Ramadan is facing multiple accusations of rape and sexual assault of minors.

Hillary Clinton's visa for Tariq Ramadan was seen as part of the new Obama administration policy of embracing more hardcore Islamists.

The New York Times reported in 2010:

Six years after using the Patriot Act to revoke the visa of a prominent Muslim academic, the United States State Department reversed itself and said Wednesday that it would no longer bar the scholar from entering the United States.

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF in fact this report is true, it wouldn't be that much of a surprise.

When you look at the countries from which the Clinton Foundation routinely took money, the following would leap out at you:

Mrs. Clinton commemorates her 1995 women’s rights speech in Beijing in back-to-back events in New York, she finds herself under attack for her family foundation’s acceptance of millions of dollars in donations from Middle Eastern countries known for violence against women and for denying them many basic freedoms.

Five Countries Clinton’s Cozy With That ‘Treat Women Like Animals’

In terms of past behaviour, and her acceptance of money (ANYONE'S MONEY FOR INFULENCE), This appears to be predictably true, in terms of Clinton's character (or excessive absence thereof).

Report: Arianna Huffington Turned Blind Eye to Sexual Misconduct at Huffington Post

In a long exposé, Arianna Huffington is accused of turning a blind eye to years of sexual misconduct by highly placed editors right under her nose when she was running her famed Huffington Post blog.

While remarking that Huffington was applauded as the stake-holding “feminist” who would “clean up Uber” after accusations of sexual misconduct were made at the ride-sharing giant, Gizmodo columnist Melanie Ehrenkranz noted that Huffington did little to address the same problems at her own big company.

According to Ehrenkranz, “being a powerful woman with a stake in a company, and its profits, doesn’t mean Huffington was actually the best choice to champion women struggling to make their voices heard.”

Judge overturns rape conviction of La. man imprisoned 46 years

A Louisiana man who spent the past 45 years in prison will be released after a judge overturned his rape conviction because the prosecution withheld evidence that could have proven his innocence.

Wilbert Jones, 65, was convicted of aggravated rape in 1971 and sentenced to life in prison. The Innocence Project recently took up his case and argued that Jones deserves a new trial "because he was misidentified and that prosecutors originally failed to disclose that they'd linked a different man to strikingly similar crimes in the years leading up to Jones' conviction."

US Military to Disobey Trump's 'Illegal' Nuclear Strike Order

Sputnik International: During Tuesday’s hearing, the Senate Foreign Relations Committee examined President Donald Trump’s authority to launch a nuclear strike amid rising tensions with North Korea.
"We are concerned that the president of the United States is so unstable, is so volatile, has a decision-making process that is so quixotic, that he might order a nuclear strike that is widely out of step with US national security interests," Democratic Senator Chris Murphy said during the hearing.

The committee's chairman, Senator Bob Corker, a Republican, warned that "once that order is given and verified, there is no way to revoke it."

Former senior Pentagon officials, invited to testify before the committee, told Senators that while President Trump has the authority to order a retaliatory nuclear strike, he is not allowed by law to launch a pre-emptive one.

Massive Overkill: Brought to You By the Nuclear-Industrial Complex

Until recently, few of us woke up worrying about the threat of nuclear war. Such dangers seemed like Cold War relics, associated with outmoded practices like building fallout shelters and “duck and cover” drills.

But give Donald Trump credit. When it comes to nukes, he’s gotten our attention. He’s prompted renewed concern, if not outright alarm, about the possibility that such weaponry could actually be used for the first time since the 6th and 9th of August 1945. That’s what happens when the man in the Oval Office begins threatening to rain “fire and fury like the world has never seen” on another country or, as he did in his presidential campaign, claiming cryptically that, when it comes to nuclear weapons, “the devastation is very important to me.”

Trump’s pronouncements are at least as unnerving as President Ronald Reagan’s infamous “joke” that “we begin bombing [the Soviet Union] in five minutes”>>>
