The Biggest Hack Yet: Why A Leak Of Clinton Foundation Documents Is Imminent

So in case this is indeed just a preview of what is to come, what data is about to be released?

As Reuters notes, "although no documents have emerged, the attacks have left some Democrats and Clinton campaign officials worried that the hackers might have obtained emails and voice messages that could be used to reinforce Republican charges that donors to the Clinton Foundation were rewarded with access to Clinton and her aides while she was secretary of state or to her husband, former President Bill Clinton."

In other words, the hack will confirm what most have already known: the foundation granted favors in exchange for "speaking fees."

The Justice Department Is Going To Stop Using Private Prisons

The Justice Department plans to stop using privately run prisons that typically house undocumented federal inmates following a report finding they are less safe than those that are federally run, Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates said Thursday.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I will believe this when I actually see it.

The private prison lobby has become huge within the last decade, and I don't know how ready our" gangsta class" politicians are to embrace the lack of contributions such a move on the the part of the Justice Department will create.

BARACK OBAMA: FROM PEACE PRIZE TO WORLD’S BIGGEST ARMS DEALER IN 8 SHORT YEARS

On Thursday, the U.S. State Department approved the sale of more military equipment, valued at around $1.15 billion USD, to the oil-rich kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This sounds like a lot of money to most of us, but the most frightening aspect of the sale is that it represents a continuation of an arms-dealing relationship between Washington and the Saudi regime, which has been worth over $50 billion USD in arms sales to date.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Ah yes, our beloved Warmonger and Dealer of Death-in-Chief!!

And as to the Nobel Nominating Committee; your "prize" has devolved into an absolute and complete sick joke, considering that your actually awarded it to both Henry Kissinger, as well as to President Obama.

And let me suggest to the Nobel Nominating Committee the following (and not terribly "out there") scenario.

IF internal DNC and White House polling suggests that Donald Trump may win the election in a landslide, it is highly likely that the Obama Administration will potentially start wars with China and Russia well before the election in November to give Donald Trump the worst situations to deal with even before he takes the Oath of Office in January.

Right now, I would not bet against this, were I a betting person.

US SOLDIERS ARE RELYING ON MILLIONS OF DOLLARS IN FOOD STAMPS TO SURVIVE

In just one year, active duty service members had to rely on $24 million worth of food stamps. But the Department of Defense has so far not made a concerted effort to work with the USDA to understand the scope of the problem.

Military service members on active duty spent $24 million in food stamps at military commissary shops from September 2014 to August 2015, and 45 percent of students in schools run by the military are eligible for free or reduced-price meal programs.

For years, the military has been embarrassed by reports showing that some active-duty service members struggle to feed their families and use government benefits to get by. A recent report by the Government Accountability Office (GAO) found that the Department of Defense (DoD) does not fully understand the scope of the problem.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This amounts to criminal neglect, on the part of the US military, and needs to be addressed immediately.

That we have even ONE SERVICE MEMBER on food stamps is a damned shame, and has to be messing with peoples' heads right now.

How in the name of heaven can our military and civilian leadership expect that our service members are going to "win" battles against, let's say, Russia or China, when those service members are on food stamps, because the US military is too stingy to pay them what they need to provide decent nutrition for themselves and their families?!?

This...just...bites!!

THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION’S $1 BILLION GIVEAWAY TO THE PRIVATE PRISON INDUSTRY

For the first time in modern American history, the government decides to detain all Central American women and children seeking asylum in the U.S., instead of allowing them to live freely until their days in court. The policy change is intended to send a message to anyone else seeking refuge from a plague of gang violence below our southern border: Don’t believe everything you read on the Statue of Liberty.
And to implement this draconian proposal, the government awards a well-connected private prison company with a $1 billion no-bid contract — one that promises to pay the firm $20 million a month, no matter how few migrants its facility is responsible for housing at a given time. Then federal courts rule that this policy of mass detention isn’t actually legal. But the contract is already signed, and so the Corrections Corporation of America collects millions in taxpayer money to maintain a nearly empty detention center.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Private prisons have become one of the largest contributors to political campaigns, of recent years; this is simply political patronage, writ large, courtesy of the Obama Administration.

And the people who, once again, get shafted by this Administration are the American taxpayers.

3 YEARS AFTER BRUTAL RABAA AL-ADAWEYA SQUARE MASSACRE, US STILL FUNDING EL-SISSI DICTATORSHIP IN EGYPT

Three years ago this week, Egyptian forces opened fire on a sit-in, killing hundreds of supporters of ousted President Mohammed Morsi.

At least 817 people died in the Aug. 14, 2013 attack on Rabaah Al-Adawiya Square, where protesters — mostly supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood — had gathered after the coup.

For the survivors and their families, justice remains a far off dream today.

The sit-in was organized in opposition to the July 2013 coup which replaced the democratically-elected Morsi government with one led by Gen. Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi, who led the Egyptian military under the previous dictator, Hosni Mubarak.

Despite the abrupt transfer of power and violent suppression of the opposition, the White House was reluctant to call the takeover a coup, and the United States continues to support the el-Sissi government, despite token reductions in military aid after the coup. At $1.3 billion annually, Egypt is second only to Israel in terms of U.S. military aid.

Webmaster's Commentary:

FIRST LONG-TERM STUDY CONFIRMS WORLD’S MOST POPULAR PESTICIDE IS WIPING BEES OFF THE PLANET

The rise of industrial agriculture — led by companies like Monsanto that push monoculture, chemical-based farming and patented life forms — has brought a flood of pesticides that wreak havoc on natural ecosystems.

Insects and animals that eat insects fall victim to the millions of gallons of pesticides that are dumped on cropland, which run off into waterways, drift to nearby habitats and are picked up as residue by visiting pollinators.

In the 1980s, Bayer developed a potent new class of pesticide called neonicotinoids (neonics), which rapidly came to dominate industrial agriculture. In 2008, they represented 24 percent of the global market for insecticides, with Imidacloprid becoming the most widely used insecticide in the world.

Almost all U.S. corn and about one-third of U.S. soybean is treated with neonics. A “major advance” happened when agribusiness developed neonic-coated seeds, where every part of the growing plant becomes infused with the toxin, including pollen.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Because politicians are completely beholden to the GMO companies for financial contributions, don't bet against these products being taken off the market any time soon.

Court Bars Feds From Prosecuting Medical Pot Cases

HUZZAH!

A federal appeals court on Tuesday banned the Justice Department from prosecuting medical marijuana cases if no state laws were broken.

A three-judge panel of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco ordered the federal agency to show that 10 pending cases in California and Washington state violated medical marijuana laws in those states before continuing with prosecutions.

Marijuana remains illegal under federal law, but Congress has barred the Justice Department from spending money to prevent states from regulating the use or sale of medical pot.

Another of Israel's pimps to become Labour's saviour?

To those who despair of the endless cruelty and slaughter in the Holy Land he will be forever remembered as the shameless British foreign secretary who apologised to Israel’s gangsters for the risk they ran of being arrested if they set foot in London. Back in 2009 the gruesome trio Ehud Barak, Tzipi Livni and retired general Doron Almog cancelled engagements in London for fear of ‘having their collar felt’. Israel complained bitterly and Miliband responded by promising the odious Lieberman that UK laws relating to ‘universal jurisdiction’ would be changed. Chemsex: the alarming new trend of 72 hour drug-fuelled sex sessions

An alarming new craze for lengthy drug-fuelled sex sessions, which can last for days a time, could lead to a rise in HIV and hepatitis, health officials has warned.

The practice, dubbed ‘chemsex’ has been reported by more than 60 per cent of people visiting some clinics in London and involves people taking drugs like crystal meth before embarking on 72 hour sex binges with multiple partners.

NHS staff and the Royal College of GPs warned that people were ‘losing days’ to the new trend and turning up too late for anti-viral drugs or emergency contraception to be effective.

James Howard Kunstler: Racketeering Is Ruining Us

Racketeering is just pervasive in all of our activities. Not just in politics but in things even like medicine and education. Obviously the college loan scheme is an example of racketeering. Anybody who has to go to an emergency room with a child whose broken their finger or something, is going to end up with a bill for $20,000. You know why? Because of medical racketeering. And so, these are really efforts to money-grub by any means necessary, often in ways that are unethical and probably illegal. Let’s use that word racketeering to describe our national situation.

And let’s remember by the way, the activities of the central banks is just another form of racketeering. Using debt issuance and attempting to control interest rates in order to conceal our inability to generate the kind of real wealth that we need to continue as a techno-industrial society.

Israel, Pakistan To Join Nevada War Games As US Prepares For Large-Scale Space & Cyber Wars

International war games being fought this week in the Nevada desert suggest the U.S. military is preparing for new, large-scale warfare against powerful enemies. A grab bag of international troops are also invited to participate in the Air Force drill, including Israel, the United Arab Emirates, and Pakistan, according to an Aug. 3 report from The Times Of Israel. The report, which cites unnamed U.S. and Israeli military officials and an amateur aviation blog as its sources, emphasizes that U.S. forces remain in charge of the drills, with other countries treated as “guests.” But it also suggests the exercises can be interpreted as a sign of strengthening ties between countries’ troops in an increasingly volatile world.

Their Hair Fell Out. Should the F.D.A. Have the Power to Act?

When the Los Angeles hairstylist Chaz Dean pitched his almond mint and lavender-scented hair care products — endorsed by celebrities like Brooke Shields and Alyssa Milano — he sold millions. But his formula got an unexpected result: itching, rashes, even hair loss in large clumps, in both adults and children.

More than 21,000 complaints have been lodged against his Wen Hair Care, and Mr. Dean, the blue-eyed, golden-haired stylist to the stars, has found himself at the center of a fierce debate over the government’s power to ensure the safety of a cosmetics industry with about $50 billion in annual sales.

The Santa Monica, Calif.-based national distributor of Mr. Dean’s hair care line is part of a beauty care trade association that has been aggressively lobbying Congress to block the passage of tough new legislation that would give the Food and Drug Administration the authority to test ingredients used in cosmetics and issue mandatory recalls for products found to be unsafe.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am violently allergic to formaldehyde precursors, which are stunningly common in both lower end cosmetics and cleaning projects; however, my hare-brained, logic-challenged HMO Doctors did not discover this for me, after half a decade of utter misery.

What happened was that my doctors put me on a medication for which Pfizer was compensating doctors to prescribe, even though it was "off book" for my condition, meaning that the medication had never been tested against this kind of pain.

It was, therefore, not in their best financial interests to get to the root of the problem; so a series of tests for chemical sensitivities, which could have identified the culprit chemicals, was never ordered.

After coming back from a gig which Mike had in San Francisco, I went back to my orthopedist, who took x-rays of my feet, and declared that he could see nothing physical as the cause of the pain.

I remember coming home in tears, asking Mike when I had time in my schedule to be a hypochondriac.

About 40 minutes later, he had done the due dilligence on line, and realized that many people were highly allergic to both formaldehyde precursors, and other chemicals. We did a "chemical-ectomy" in our home that night, and the next day, I was walking without pain for the first time in half a decade.

On my follow-up visit to my orthopedist, I presented the research, and told him that if he had patients presenting these kinds of symptoms, but he could see nothing in the x-rays looking like the cause of the pain, to immediately order a series of chemical sensitivity screenings, because chemical allergies may well be the culprit.

I stormed out of that office, never to return to that HMO.

The two doctors who had originally prescribed me this "off the book" pain management product (not the orthopedist) were mysteriously gone from the HMO's on-line roster shortly after that.

But no, the companies manufacturing cosmetics and cleaning products do not have the right to poison the people who use their products for profit, period, end of discussion.

Here are a couple of useful links for research in this area;

Common Products Using Formaldehyde Precursors

Cosmetics Using Formaldehyde Precursors

Knowledge is power here. I would never want anyone to go through what I wend through, because of both my original ignorance of this information, and the medical establishment's ignorance of this information.

‘It’s like we’re born with guns in our hands’: Young Israelis face prison as they resist military conscription

Four months ago, Omri requested exemption from military service through an ethics committee. But her request was rejected, and she found herself facing prison time.

Leading up to her first stay in military prison, Omri was introduced to Tair and other members of the Refusers Solidarity Network, who gave her an informal, educational lesson on Israel’s treatment of the Palestinian people.

“I had never even seen a map that shows the green line,” Omri said incredulously, referring to the pre-1967 borders recognized under international law as the border between Palestine and Israel. “To this day, I have not been able to find a map of Israel in Hebrew that recognizes any Palestinian borders.”

OVERWHELMED BY DEBT, NEARLY 1 IN 5 YOUNG ADULTS LIVE WITH THEIR PARENTS OR GRANDPARENTS

In America today, more than 60 million people live in multi-generational households. That number is so large that it may seem difficult to believe, but the truth is that vast numbers of young adults have had to move back in with their parents and grandparents in recent years due to the deteriorating economy. Millions of our young people cannot find decent jobs once they leave school, and millions of them are absolutely overwhelmed by debt. Of course some of them are just lazy, but whatever the reason it is undeniable that multi-generational households are on the rise. According to the Pew Research Center, 12 percent of the U.S. population was living in multi-generational households back in 1980. Today, that number is up to 19 percent. That means nearly one out of every five U.S. adults now live with their parents or their grandparents.

One of the big culprits, of course, is student loan debt.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Young people must, right now, do their own due dilligence about what jobs will most likely exist in what fields by the time they have graduated; do not believe one thing a college counselor might tell you, because they are there to assure that classroom seats are filled, and the appropriate tuitions paid, either through private means, or student loans, which can haunt you.

If you do a web search on google.com, here is a question you may want to ask:

What are the best paying jobs which do not require a college degree?

You may be surprised at what is possible here, and will not put you under a mountain of debt. And you need to start looking in your sophomore year of high school.

FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TURNS A BLIND EYE TO TERRIBLE CONDITIONS IN PRIVATE PRISONS

The Office of the Inspector General for the Justice Department uncovered systemic mismanagement at private prisons, which fueled inmate suffering. However, the office also found the suffering would not have been so severe if government officials had engaged in proper oversight.

Corrections Corporation of America (CCA), GEO Group, and Management and Training Corporation (MTC) has contracts with the Bureau of Prisons (BOP) to house about 22,660 federal inmates in private prisons—about 12 percent of the federal prison population. The BOP has contracted facilities since the late 1990s, largely because of overcrowding.

While the overall federal prison population declined by 2.3 percent from 2013 to 2014, the system remains approximately 20 percent over capacity today.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It's very simple, here, regarding private prisons; recidivism re-fills cells, and that fattens corporate profits.

And the private prison industry has become one of the largest political contributors to American candidates, insuring, as much as possible, that bad conditions continue without governmental scrutiny, in order to maximise profits.

GIMME A BREAK! IRS TAX LOOPHOLE CAN REWARD EXCESSIVE WATER USE IN DROUGHT-STRICKEN WEST

ProPublica’s reporting on the water crisis in the American West has highlighted any number of confounding contradictions worsening the problem: Farmers are encouraged to waste water so as to protect their legal rights to its dwindling supply in the years ahead; Las Vegas sought to impose restrictions on water use while placing no checks on its explosive population growth; the federal government has encouraged farmers to improve efficiency in watering crops, but continues to subsidize the growing of thirsty crops such as cotton in desert states like Arizona.

Today, we offer another installment in the contradictions amid a crisis.

In parts of the western U.S., wracked by historic drought, you can get a tax break for using an abundance of water.

That’s a typo, right? A joke?

ORWELLIAN BILL CRIMINALIZING REPORTING OF UNDERCOVER VIDEO SETS OFF BATTLE FOR FREE SPEECH

The controversy last year over secretly recorded video taken of Planned Parenthood employees has turned into a bigger controversy over the First Amendment rights of journalists.

After losing the attempt to bring federal charges against the anti-abortion group Center for Medical Progress, Planned Parenthood and certain state lawmakers are going for the nuclear option known as Assembly Bill 1671.

Courthouse News reports:

“The bill would criminalize publishing undercover video footage of “health care providers” and subject third parties, including journalists, to penalties for reporting and distributing the illegally recorded footage.

Under AB 1671, a journalist receiving and posting footage from an anonymous source could be punished by the state as well as be opened up to potential civil lawsuits. Whistleblowers would not be exempt from the proposal either, regardless of how they obtained the illegal footage.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Planned Parenthood must, collectively, be terrified that some of its practices are so gruesome that, if shared with the general public, would necessitate having them close all their facilities due to the shock value of these procedures.

That being said, as a pro-Life Christian, I completely understand that there are situations where a pregnancy cannot come to term, because it utterly threatens the life of the mother.

But the passage of AB 1671 will absolutely undermine the First Amendment to the Constitution, and that cannot be allowed to stand.
