President Obama: no hope and no change from the plutocracy – oligarchy

note: hyperlinks and video live at source.

Oligarchs and plutocrats remove government policy from the public good to the greatest extent possible without causing revolution. David Swanson paints the Obama Administration as Bush’s Third Term with accuracy. His new book, Daybreak: Undoing the Imperial Presidency and Forming a More Perfect Union, is number 1 in three categories on Amazon’s bestselling lists as I just looked. David makes many of the same points as I do about Wars of Aggression and related policies (see here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, and here).

All government cost studies: sheltering the homeless is most cost-effective

The US Interagency Council on Homelessness has found that all cost-benefit analyses show that paying for the homeless to have minimal housing, food, health care, and job counseling costs less than public costs of their street life. The greatest savings come from decreased emergency room visits, police calls, and court time. What isn't counted, and significant, is the increase of business in areas where the homeless are vagrants. In addition, these studies show most of these participants find jobs and leave these programs.

As always, please share this with all who say they want to be responsible citizens.

Big Isle telescope discovers giant galaxy, huge black hole

HONOLULU (AP) - Scientists using the Subaru telescope on the Big Island reported the discovery of a giant galaxy surrounding the most distant supermassive black hole ever found.

The galaxy located 12.8 billion light-years from Earth is as large as our own Milky Way galaxy, the University of Hawaii's Institute for Astronomy said Wednesday. The universe itself is thought to be 13.7 billion years old.

''It is surprising that such a giant galaxy existed when the universe was only one-sixteenth of its present age, and that it hosted a black hole 1 billion times more massive than the sun. The galaxy and black hole must have formed very rapidly in the early universe,'' University of Hawaii astronomer Tomotsugu Goto said.

Canadian Human Rights Tribunal rules Sec. 13 “Hate Law” is Unconstitutional

In terms of Canada’s struggle to retain its Constitutional rights as contained in the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, September 2, 2009, may go down in Canadian history as the day that the citizens who believe in freedom of speech finally managed to throw a monkey-wrench into the gears of the Zionist Censorship Juggernaut that has been rolling relentlessly over our rights and freedoms for the past half a century.

[T]he Decision in the long-awaited section 13 “hate crimes” complaint Warman v. Lemire finally appeared on the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal’s website:

Heroic James Traficant Freed

His so-called crimes were essentially victimless — they didn’t harm you or me at all. Meanwhile, from the House floor he called (loudly) for an end to the IRS (”Internal Rectal Service,” as he put it), attacked Janet Reno for her role in the Waco massacre, and attacked the Clintons for their misdeeds. Given all that, do you think that a few petty bribes are the real reason his fellow Democrats kicked him out of Congress and sent him to prison?

Texas Advance Directives Act legalizes "death panel "

Ward: Are end-of-life directives a choice or medical coercion
Posted Sunday, Aug. 30, 2009
Special to the Star-Telegram
The facts are that advance directives to provide treatments are meaningless in Texas and we already have "death panels," courtesy of the Texas Advance Directives Act (TADA). Our "death panels" are called hospital "ethics committees" and TADA allows them to decide to terminate life-sustaining treatments despite the advance directives and wishes of patients and families.
Given the way that medical providers and ethicists have wielded TADA, we should be very wary about government mandates for "end-of-life" counseling, especially when such mandates provide incentives to ration and deny care.

Indoctrination Alert! Protect your kids on Sept. 8th

This Tuesday Sept. 8th President Obama is planning to address the nation's school children DIRECTLY, through a live internet broadcast at 12 noon. If you do not want Obama to have access to your children to say whatever he wants to them during their school hours without you being there, there are a few things you can do:

-Call the school's principal to find out whether the school was planning to show the speech, and if they are, let the principal know that you feel the role of the school is to educate, not to indoctrinate, and that you do not consent to have your child spoken to directly by any politician or government official, for any reason. Maybe if enough parents call, the school will not show the speech to students.

Sep 02 14:37

VIEWPOINT: Students need to be able to make informed decision on military service

The federal No Child Left behind Act of 2001 contains a little-known provision that threatens the federal funding of any school refusing to turn over the personal contact information of students in grades 7 through 12 to military recruiters. This action is in violation of the federal Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act.

Given the current economic recession, more high school age youth are considering joining the military. At this impressionable age, we must entrust our public schools with the responsibility to protect our children's rights to privacy. Students and parents have complained of multiple cell and home phone calls from military recruiters as well as uninvited recruiters arriving at their houses.

By creating the problem (false global warming for example), they acknowledged said problem (Al Gore's Inconvenient Truth =reaction) then they create the solution (carbon credits, depopulation). 9/11 as another example with the same PRS being used also works across many different situations encompassing all ecological standards and many other less obvious but as equally sinister agendas. Bush’s Third Term? You’re living it

Now, here’s the funny part. This dark fantasy of a third Bush term is also an accurate portrait of Obama’s first term to date. In following Bush, Obama was given the opportunity either to restore the rule of law and the balance of powers or to firmly establish in place what were otherwise aberrant abuses of power. Thus far, President Obama has, in all the areas mentioned above, chosen the latter course. Everything described, from the continuation of crimes to the efforts to hide them away, from the corruption of corporate power to the assertion of the executive power to legislate, is Obama’s presidency in its first seven months.

Report: State Dept. extends Blackwater contract in Iraq

The mercenary group formerly known as Blackwater International, which was banned from Iraq by its government after a Baghdad massacre which killed 17 civilians, will see its contract extended in the country by the U.S. State Department, according to a published report.

Controversy has surrounded the private security firm practically since it was founded, but erupted anew recently when former employees accused Blackwater’s founder and former CEO of murdering or facilitating the murders of other employees who were preparing to blow the whistle on his alleged criminal activities.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Well, there's one thing you can say about Erik Prince, Blackwater's founder: he does know where the bodies are buried...literally.

Pull my finger: Jihadist who blew himself up on Saudi prince's private jet hid explosives in his anus

Al Qaeda, meanwhile, claimed responsibility for the suicide attack and said that the bomber, Abdullah Hassan Taleh Al Asiri, had managed to pass security checkpoints and board a private aircraft, Site Intelligence said yesterday.

A statement posted on jihadist forums by Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula said Al Asiri passed through checkpoints at Najran airport, near the Yemeni border, and Jeddah airport, the US monitoring service said.

It said the attacker concealed the explosives in his anus, allowing him to evade detection.

Obamacare bill's gravy train for union supporters

Ten thousand million dollars…
August 31, 2009 6:21 pm R.D. Walker
That is how much pork there is for unions in the Obamacare bill.
Antilabor forces say it’s welfare for the UAW and Democrats’ union allies. Labor supporters say it falls short of what’s needed as tens of thousands of union members are pushed into early retirement as employers cut back health care coverage.
They’re both talking about a $10-billion provision tucked deep inside thousands of pages of health care overhaul bills that could help the UAW’s retiree health-care plan and other union-backed plans.
It would see the government — at least temporarily — pay 80 cents on the dollar to corporate and union insurance plans for claims between $15,000 and $90,000 for retirees age 55 to 64.

Why are we still in Afghanistan?

U.S. forces are being increased by 21,000 to 68,000, bringing the coalition total to 110,000. About 9,000 are from Britain, where support for the war is waning. Counterinsurgency theory concerning the time and the ratio of forces required to protect the population indicates that, nationwide, Afghanistan would need hundreds of thousands of coalition troops, perhaps for a decade or more. That is inconceivable

Mexico and Argentina move towards decriminalising drugs

Argentina and Mexico have taken significant steps towards decriminalising drugs amid a growing Latin American backlash against the US-sponsored "war on drugs"

It followed Mexico's decision to stop prosecuting people for possession of relatively small quantities of marijuana, cocaine, heroin and other drugs. Instead, they will be referred to clinics and treated as patients, not criminals.

Brazil and Ecuador are also considering partial decriminalisation as part of a regional swing away from a decades-old policy of crackdowns still favoured by Washington.

Webmaster's Commentary:

As has been seen in Portugal, this approach does tend to cause drug use to go down significantly, and seems to be a reasonable and enlightened policy.

Of course, because it is a reasonable and enlightened approach, such a drug policy will never see the light of day in this country.

Last week I had dinner with two friends, one of whom is what the mainstream would call a conspiracy nut. Over the course of a couple of hours and a bunch of margaritas he walked us through everything from the government's role in 9/11 to the FEMA internment camps to the surge in gun regulations, all of which are scary, but also mostly beyond my experience. I'm a finance guy who gets the monetary side of what's coming, but I don't own guns (yet) and have no first-hand knowledge of 9/11 or FEMA camps. So - while some or all of these things might be true - it was still a bit academic.

Swine Flu: Natural Pandemic or Man-Made Pandemonium?

The latest in the barrage of media reports on swine flu is a Bloomberg news report (August 25, 2009) that it might hospitalize 1.8 million patients in the US and over-burden hospital intensive care units.

This comes from a planning scenario released by the President's Council of Advisers on Science and Technology

The Bloomberg story cites some theatrical numbers:

* Half of the US population infected (that is, over 150 million people)
* 300,000 people in hospital intensive care units
* 30–90,000 people dead
* By-pass surgery emergency operations disrupted

But hidden in paragraph 5 of the Bloomberg piece is the most pertinent part:

The number of Israelis who see US President Barack Obama's policies as pro-Israel has fallen to four percent, according to a Smith Research poll taken this week on behalf of The Jerusalem Post.

August 26, 2009
A call to arms for Right Soup readers: Obama’s permanent campaign arm, Organizing For America, has called for Obamacare supporters to blitzkrieg town hall meetings across America…starting TODAY. The plan is for Barry’s buddies to drown out the opposition–the very thing they’ve accused protesters of doing.

Mammon Nightmare

For the love of money is the root of all evil and the quest of fitly lucre has spawned a monster so hideous that the history books of human depravity will have to be rewritten. A beast yet in its infancy with the ugliness trumping Medusa forcing the weak of heart too cast away vision for fear of ones very livelihood. The knowledge of this menace has the potential to spawn nightmares so for the weak of heart stop now, but for the bravest of the keyboard warriors I invite you to join me as we descend into Satan's realm.

The Meaning of Life for Dummies.

Okay… here it is. The whole world is on fire and it is consuming itself in every moment. This is the meaning of the serpent with it’s tale in its mouth. Don’t analyze this; just swallow it whole like the serpent. You get born into a world of appearances reflected in an infinity of funhouse mirrors and whatever you see is defined by how you were schooled, your unique nature and following circumstance. There is no other point to life than to find this out. You’re free to wallow in the whole thing like a dog at a roadside carcass or isolate yourself on a mountain top.

RAND advises pharmaceutical company on strategies in vaccinating low-income students

The pieces of the pandemic puzzle are coming together as the H1N1 Swine Flu hysteria is reaching new heights. A largely uncovered white paper published by RAND Corporation in March of 2009, sponsored by pharmaceutical giant Sanofi Pasteur, identifies parental consent laws, medical homes, and lack of access to medical records as main barriers “for immunizing low-income adolescents.” The solution proposed to Sanofi Pasteur? Turn schools into a vaccine wonderland.

A Letter to the Poor

What follows is directed to those who, like the author, are poor. It may be of limited interest and possible offense to those who are more successful under the current system.

My sisters and brothers living in poverty,

You're probably surprised to receive this since we don't get much mail other than foreclosure and eviction notices, but it's important for us to begin talking to each other, and I'm hoping this is one way to get the conversation started.

Is the past prologue for A/H1N1?
By Wayne Madsen Aug 25, 2009, 00:38
(WMR) -- Perhaps one of the best presentations at the International Swine Flu Conference was delivered by Scott Sproul, chief of the Emergency Preparedness and Response Service for the Oklahoma Department of Health. Sproul recapped how Oklahoma City dealt with the 1918 Spanish flu, which contained genetic elements similar to the present avian flu, itself a recombinant genetic part of A/H1N1.

War Coverage and the Obama Cult

Can’t we all just get along? On the higher levels of the commentariat, the "Left" and the "Right" are slow-dancing in perfect harmony whenever Obama plays a martial tune. Now that the Obamaite think-tanks, such as the Center for a New American Security and the Center for American Progress, are holding joint conferences with Rush’s neocon buddies – Bill Kristol and his Foreign Policy Initiative – hailing Obama’s Afghan "surge" and proffering advice on how best to go about it, Rush ought to relax. He and Keith Olbermann can now march together, arm in arm, into the glorious war-torn future, united in steadfastly ignoring the Cindy Sheehans of this world.

In a disturbing echo of how Israel treats Palestinian archaeological sites (or the US treats Iraqi archaeological sites), a Native American mound is being destroyed so that the dirt can be used as landfill underneath a retail store!

Common Sense 2009

The real war is not between the left and the right. It is between the average American and the ruling class. If we come together on this single issue, everything else will resolve itself. It's time we took back our government from those who would make us their slaves.

It Stinks...Commentary on the so-called "populist revolt" on health care.

Is anyone more than a little curious about where the so-called “populist revolt” against the Obama administration’s health care proposals is coming from and who is paying for it?

My question is where were these brave patriots hiding when the Bush administration launched massive undeclared wars against Iraq and Afghanistan? Where were they when the military/CIA torture and rendition scandals erupted? Where were they when the Bush and later the Obama administrations gave away several trillion dollars in government bailouts, guarantees, and commitments to the financiers who engineered the biggest heist of the people’s money in history?

The FBI Chase of Israeli, Bio-Scientist (?)Joseph Moshe Photos

Moshe did not send a threat to the White House. Rather, he communicated that he intended to go public with information he had regarding the flu vaccine that is being prepared by Baxter Labs, an Austrian company.
The information is this: The vaccine is being manufactured in Ukraine. It is not a vaccine at all, but rather an engineered genetically mutated bio-weapon meant to cause sickness and death. Moshe informed the White House he intended to go public with this information. When he became aware that the FBI was about to detain him, he packed some belongings in his car and set out for the Israeli consulate, located in close proximity to the federal building where the standoff took place. FBI pursuit kept him from reaching his destination.

Calling A National General Strike

A few days ago, Larry Flint wrote in the Huffington Post, calling for a one-day General Strike throughout the US to let those in Washington and New York know we are all fed up with the lies, and deceit, and the out-of-control white-collar crime that passes for government. He is right!

However, only one day is not enough for the massive troubles we are in right now. It would be ignored. We want to call for a week-long NATIONWIDE GENERAL STRIKE.

The French have a history of doing this, and they get results.

British trade with Libya set to soar

Britain's trade with Libya could soar following the release of the Lockerbie bomber, as the North African country embarks on a massive building programme.

In the first five months of 2009, UK exports to Libya were already up by 48 per cent to £165.4m on the same period in 2008, while UK imports from Libya – mainly oil – were up 48.5 per cent on 2008 at £966m, a rise of 66 per cent on 2007.
