The Crumbling of America

America's infrastructure is collapsing. Tens of thousands of bridges are structurally deficient or functionally obsolete. A third of the nation's highways are in poor or mediocre shape. Massively leaking water and sewage systems are creating health hazards and contaminating rivers and streams. Weakened and under-maintained levees and dams tower over communities and schools. And the power grid is increasingly maxed out, disrupting millions of lives and putting entire cities in the dark. The Crumbling of America explores these problems using expert interviews, on location shooting and computer generated animation to illustrate the kinds of infrastructure disasters that could be just around the bend.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I just got done watching this show, (I recommend it highly) and I was left with one question uppermost on my mind. Where has the government been spending all the money they take from us over the last 50 years if they have not been taking care of the country?

Did the Federal Reserve get it all?

Did it go to Israel?

Has it been totally wasted on wars of conquest that go nowhere?

How can the richest and most powerful nation on Earth have roads, bridges, and sewers in worse condition that most th8ird-world countries?

Israeli State of Extortion

Israeli State of Extortion
September 30th, 2009 By:Peter Chamberlin
We are faced with the ever-present and ever-growing problems presented by the state of Israel. The entire world has been given the most sinister ultimatum of all time (and Barack Obama is fully supporting it)- we either make Israeli interests the paramount issue concerning the world today, or else Israel will single-handedly start World War III....Obama has served his Zionist overlords very well. Obama’s theatric ultimatums to Iran have distracted the world from the building international pressure that was being generated for war crimes investigations by public reactions to the fascist war of ethnic cleansing in Gaza.

American Police Force: Internet Scam?

What in Hades is going on in Montana? In April 2009, Two Rivers Authority and the Hardin City Council started looking into housing enemy combatants currently detained in Guantanamo Bay (Gitmo), Cuba. A few weeks later (May 15th), a business called the American Police Force (”APF”) registers the domain name The next thing you know, APF is trying to contract to operate a private jail and police training center for $27 million.

And my personal concern is, why is their crest the same as the Serbian flag?

Declaring independence from US psychopathocracy: disobey unlawful orders to kill Iranians

The good news is that America's mass recognition of psychopathic political leadership in the US is happening now. We're at critical mass to cause our independence from destructive, illegal, and immoral policies, and reclaim the US Constitution for the public good. Importantly, I use the term "psychopathy" as a technical definition, not as an ad hominem. The definition of psychopathy is vicious behavior for twisted selfish purpose disguised behind an act of socially-concerned language and gestures. As a professional educator in US government, economics and history, this term is the most accurate I have for current US government "leaders" of the left and right sides of a singular colluding political body.

Deadly tsunami in Pacific islands

An 8.3-magnitude quake struck at 1748 GMT, generating 15ft (4.5m) waves in some areas of Samoa and American Samoa.

The Samoa islands comprise two separate entities - the nation of Samoa and American Samoa, a US territory - with a total population of about 250,000 people.

A tsunami warning was issued, but it has now been cancelled.

"Some of the areas there are only a few feet above sea level, so you can imagine the devastation," said Mr Faleomavaega.

"It caused severe damage to property, there are cars floating everywhere."

Damage in Samoa after tsunami

A tsunami following an earthquake in the Pacific Ocean has caused some deaths in Samoa, but there is no word of how many died.

The powerful 8.3 magnitude earthquake struck in the Pacific off American Samoa.

Tony Manson, a TVNZ employee in Samoa, was on the beach when he felt the earthquake.

He saw waves breaking before the reef and the sea receding so ran for the hills.

Manson says it took only 30 seconds to get from beach chalets to hills before it completely devastated villages and locals are missing their family members.

He says a large fale was completely wiped out and it was a big construction made of concrete

U.S. at critical point in Iran, Afghanistan Graham says

U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham said today that without a strong response in Iran and Afghanistan the United States and its NATO allies are heading for “Armageddon.”

Graham, speaking on CBS’ “Face the Nation,” said it’s obvious what Iran is up to at its unfinished uranium enrichment plant.

Webmaster's Commentary:

One wonders what Graham would have this country do?

Go to a full all-out war in Afghanistan, to kill as many Afghans as necessary for to insure the installation of the pipelines to control Eurasian oil, and another full all-out war against Iran to "neutralize it" for Israel's geopolitical agenda?

Looking at his statement, the answers to these two questions must be an unequivocal, "yes".

Freedom Rider: Iran’s Right to Exist

Freedom Rider: Iran’s Right to Exist
by Margaret Kimberley 09/22/2009
Citizens of the Islamic Republic of Iran have the right to live without fear of sanctions, military attack, and destruction at the hands of the United States. The Iranian government has the right to enrich uranium, launch satellites, build missiles or even to develop nuclear weapons. It has these rights of self-determination freely exercised by other nations, regardless of American, European or Israeli opinion.
"Americans should not be fooled into following the Russia-is-our-enemy line. The unipolar world with the U.S. as the only superpower poses a grave threat to world peace. The rights of all humanity are protected when nations like Russia are strong enough to keep Uncle Sam in his place."

Toronto Star: Who you calling docile?!

Yeah, China is bad alright. But we're badder because we delude ourselves into thinking we have a democracy, in spite of the government deciding everything for us behind closed doors, putting on a show in the House that bears no resemblance to the collusion that goes on in secret, lying to us at every opportunity via the compliant media, confounding every issue to the point where people don't trust politicians period and only a few die-hard Conservatives trust the media, and a large percentage of the voters are too lethargic to even bother showing up at the polls on election day - because they know it's just going to be the same old same old, except maybe even worse.

Any differences in the comparison between China and North America are mere technicalities.

Dear mr. Getler,

In your column, which can be found at

you say the following about "9/11: Blueprint for Truth":

"I'm not going to review the films, but on a personal level I find the idea embedded in "Blueprint" of a government conspiracy to blow up those buildings to be preposterous and simply beyond belief and I fault the station for promoting this as part of a pledge drive and presenting it without an accompanying on-the-air program in which critics have their say."

Sir, unless you DO review those films, you have no business commenting on them whatsoever.

Watching our greatness slip away

As a loyal and devoted American, and veteran of World War II, I am appalled at the greed, stupidity and inefficiency of our United States government. In 1950, our nation was a leader of the world. We were wealthy, powerful and our industry hummed with made-in-America products. Our workers were building homes and enjoying steady salaries for their labor, producing consumer products sold around the world; trading with other nations for every product they could possibly want. We were the owners of the largest store in the world.

Now, a brief 59 years later, our government has allowed and promoted our corporations to sell off that entire store, piece by piece, lock, stock and barrel.

National Lawyers Guild: Cops Run Wild in Pittsburgh

Police deployed chemical irritants, including CS gas, and long-range acoustic devices (LRAD) in residential neighborhoods on narrow streets where families and small children were exposed. Scores of riot police formed barricades at many intersections throughout neighborhoods miles away from the downtown area and the David Lawrence Convention Center. Outside the Courtyard Marriott in Shadyside, police deployed smoke bombs in the absence of protest activity, forcing bystanders and hotel residents to flee the area.

Later, while some protests were ending, riot-clad officers surrounded an area at the University of Pittsburgh, creating an ominous spectacle that some described as akin to Kent State. Guild legal observers witnessed police chasing and arresting many uninvolved students.

Vietnam veteran loses his house, car

WAILUKU - A Vietnam War veteran lost his house and was ordered to pay a $2,500 fine after police found 5 pounds of marijuana in the trunk of his car three years ago.

The veteran received an honorable discharge after serving one year in Vietnam, Covich had used alternative medicine to treat a medical condition, said Deputy Public Defender Adriel Menor.

"It's clear he's a tireless advocate for veterans," Menor said. "He's also a family man. He's close to not only his family but the families of these veterans he works for."

Tate said it might have been appropriate for Covich to experiment with marijuana after suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, but the amount of the drug seized by police exceeded amounts for personal use.

Lousy economy lingers

University of Hawaii economists have titled their latest quarterly economic forecast "Recovery Still Around the Corner."

"Things are looking up for the U.S. and global economies," but in Hawaii the prospect is for more tough times, the University of Hawaii Economic Research Organization said today.

Since the last quarterly estimate, UHERO has brightened a bit on three fronts. The numbers remain negative, but not as negative as a few weeks ago.

The visitor industry is forecast to lag the reviving overall economy, and UHERO does not expect arrivals to reach 7 million again until 2012. Hotel-occupancy rates, now around 66 percent, are not expected to reach 70 percent through 2011.

U.S. Intelligence Budget: $75 Billion, 200,000 Operatives. Fusion Centers Will Have Access to Classified Military Intelligence

Speaking at San Francisco's Commonwealth Club September 15, Director of National Intelligence Admiral Dennis C. Blair, disclosed that the current annual budget for the 16 agency U.S. "Intelligence Community" (IC) clocks-in at $75 billion and employs some 200,000 operatives world-wide, including private contractors.

In unveiling an unclassified version of the National Intelligence Strategy (NIS), Blair asserts he is seeking to break down "this old distinction between military and nonmilitary intelligence," stating that the "traditional fault line" separating secretive military programs from overall intelligence activities "is no longer relevant."

We discussed Peter Cooper’s presidential ambition with the Greenback Party, who campaigned for “greenbacks” to be created directly by the federal government for public projects and jobs. Happy Junta Grounds: Militarist Machiavellis Maneuver for More War

In a recent appearance on Al Jazeera, Defense Secretary Robert Gates said, "both Afghanistan and Pakistan can count on us for the long term."

Informative interview of a former Big Pharma employee, who is now retired... now speaking out after realizing the ramifications of vaccination - FORCED or otherwise. Interview Date: Circa: Wed, 9 Jan 2002

Q: What is one thing you want the public to understand?

A: That the burden of proof in establishing the safety and efficacy of vaccines is on the people who manufacture and license them for public use. Just that. The burden of proof is not on you or me. And for proof you need well-designed long-term studies. You need extensive follow-up. You need to interview mothers and pay attention to what mothers say about their babies and what happens to them after vaccination. You need all these things. The things that are not there.

Q: The things that are not there.

A Postal Service bailout?

Democrats moved Thursday to give special relief to the financially strapped Postal Service, which would be allowed to defer $4 billion in payments due at the end of this month to cover retirement benefits for its employees.

Republicans protested the bailout but made no significant effort to block the provision, which has now been attached to a stop-gap spending bill slated to come before the House and Senate in the next week.

With little public warning, the language has now been attached to a must-pass spending bill to keep the government funded for the first month of the new fiscal year that begins Oct. 1.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Dear Congressman Lottabukz

As you may recall from the many times I have talked to you at your fundraisers, I own a coal oil lamp company and my business is suffering because of the irreparable harm caused by Mr. Edison and his new-fangled electrical light bulb.

This new device represents a threat to the American way of life as we have known it for all the years of our lives. This is a dangerous contraption and even Mr. Edison himself has recently demonstrated that the mysterious force on which his device operates is capable of killing an elephant! Lord only knows what evils such power could do in the hands of someone who wished our great country ill!

A light that can be extinguished and then relighted with but a flick of a finger is a threat to the moral fiber of the nation, as men and women shall be more easily tempted to the sins of the flesh that occur in the dark when re-illumination is so easily achieved on the approach of a third party. And might I hasten to add that while the Bible often speaks of lamps and candles, there is no mention of an infernal electrical light bulb within those sacred pages, from which you may draw your own conclusions!

Yet despite this obvious risk, Congress has not seen fit to exercise the proper control and restrictions on this arcane device, with the result that candle makers, lamp blowers, wick weavers, and coal oil lamp makers such as myself are suffering grievous financial hardships!

I therefore request and implore the Congress to set aside funds for a financial bailout of our much beleaguered industry since it was Congress' failure to act against this modern horror which has caused our hardships!

I remain your humble servant and contributor...

Census worker hanged with 'fed' on body

A U.S. Census worker found hanged from a tree near a Kentucky cemetery had the word "fed" scrawled on his chest, a law enforcement official said Wednesday, and the FBI is investigating whether he was a victim of anti-government sentiment.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I have no doubt there is a great deal of anti-government rage in this nation, and the latest Rasmussem poll confirms it, but a census worker seems an oddly benign target for a lynching. My first thought was this might be a suicide and the word "up" was simply not reported, but I think more likely that census workers, since they are knocking on every door, sooner or later are going to knock on the wrong door. Daniel Boone National Forest is a hotbed for pot growers and meth labs and archaeological looters. And like the moonshiners shooting the 'revenoors' of years past, there is a long tradition of hate of the Federal Government in that part of the country.

Regardless of the real circumstances, the government and media are shamelessly exploiting this tragedy to issue a warning to "limit" anti-government speech
, implying that those who criticize the government's crimes might bear the legal consequences of any future killings.

It won't work, of course, but that's what they are saying.

Anti-ACORN Bill Ropes In Defense Contractors, Others Charged With Fraud

Unpublished studies question whether seasonal flu shot raises swine flu risk

Drawn from a series of studies from British Columbia, Quebec and Ontario, the data appear to suggest that people who got a seasonal flu shot last year are at higher risk of catching swine flu.

"It is difficult to speak about a study that has yet to be published, however, as this is an important issue involving the subject of seasonal influenza and the fast-moving global pandemic of 2009 H1N1 influenza it is important to note the scientists at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have not seen this effect in systems we have reviewed in the United States," spokesperson Joe Quimby said by email.

U.S. Navy Sailors Say They Were Hazed, Abused

Foreign Minister Lawrence Cannon will be at the world body to attend the opening of the UN General Assembly’s annual debate, but officials signal he and other members of the Canadian delegation will vacate the Canadian seats when the Islamic republic’s president approaches the podium.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Media hypes terror plot, despite the fact no one is charged with terror

It has a familiar ring: “Investigators are looking for about a dozen more people in connection with a wide-ranging terror investigation that has already netted arrests in Colorado and New York City, a source familiar with the investigation said Tuesday.”

That’s the lead sentence of a CNN “breaking news” report filed Tuesday about a frantic search for alleged terrorism plotters within the United States. But a closer inspection of the story — and that of others in the past week — reveals that despite the hoopla, federal authorities have yet to charge the men they’re accusing of a terror-related crime.

Any Day Now, as the Song Goes.

Given all of the things I’ve pointed out here it seems pretty certain that any day now… any day now they are going to launch a series of violent actions that can be blamed on the people they want to destroy because… because that is what they do. They kill and maim. They bankrupt and release diseases and toxins. They’re made differently than you or I. They aren’t human. They wear the mask but a beast is behind the mask. It’s an ancient thing that has moved through the human herd for centuries and centuries. It’s coming out now and they don’t know what to make of it. They managed well over the years as they set traps and practiced treachery, accusing whomever they pleased of the actions they committed themselves. Things aren’t going according to plan though.

Higher birth rate isn't enough to offset deaths: StatsCan

Women across most of Canada had babies at a higher rate and a later age in 2007, an increase that child-care advocates say will continue to fray the national patchwork of early education.

India tightens security after Israel issues travel warning

India said on Tuesday it was increasing security to thwart possible militant strikes in the country days after Israel and Australia issued warnings to its citizens to avoid travelling to Indian cities.

Israel and Australia have issued travel warnings to its citizens based on intelligence inputs on militant strikes.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Anything that happens in India will most likely be blamed on Pakistani militants.

As reported on 19 September in

"Amid indication that a few infiltrators might have entered into this side under cover firing given by Pakistan Rangers in the wake of two incidents along the international border in Jammu and Kashmir, India on Friday lodged a strong protest with Pakistan and put its border guarding force on full alert."

State police warn of 'Grandma scam' after Wilson woman loses nearly $6,000

The scam has been around for years, Gibbons said, but has resurfaced lately, and is being reported coast to coast. The accounts are similar. Montreal also has popped up in other cases. Police have said they are unsure how the criminals are getting the names of seniors.

Gibbons said law enforcement agents are investigating the case in Niagara County and three or four similar cases in Erie County. The U. S. Secret Service also is involved.

“We’ve put a request in to Interpol. The money was actually picked up in London, and we are dealing with [Royal Canadian Mounted Police] out of Canada, since a lot of these scams originate out of Canada,” Gibbons said.

He was physically and verbally abused, pepper sprayed, strip-and body-cavity searched; and was accused of being a "terrorist" during his processing at the "camp."

US schools: 1 million homeless students, 40-50 class size, 100,000 laid-off teachers. Had enough?

Unemployment in the US is at Great Depression levels. When discouraged and part-time workers are included, the real unemployment rate (how it used to be counted in official statistics) is over 20%. This has predictable outcomes for our children: one million homeless students, class sizes of 40-50 while 100,000 laid-off teachers sit at home, and our children's growing disgust with American so-called ingenuity and leadership.

The solution to this problem is obvious. Yup. Think with me for a few moments to understand this for yourself.

Top 10 Americans for monetary reform: #3: President Andrew Jackson

Andrew Jackson (1767-1845) is the last US President to pay-off the national debt. He did so only after ending the Federal Reserve of his day, the privately-owned Second Bank of the United States. The story is told in the 10-minute video below from the Money Masters. As did Thomas Jefferson, Jackson understood the subversive act and perpetual national debt with banks creating money to lend to the government. He did not understand the positive policy response of the government creating money directly for the payment of public goods and services. Click link for article, live hyperlinks, and video.

‘Tidal wave’ of homeless students hits schools

While the problem may be worse in economically stricken regions like Southern California, where foreclosures and job losses are taking a harsh toll on families, anecdotal evidence suggests it is a growing issue nationally and one with serious ramifications for both a future generation and the overburdened public school system.

Research shows that the turmoil of homelessness often hinders children’s ability to socialize and learn. Many are plagued by hunger, exhaustion, abuse and insecurity. They have a hard time performing at grade level and are about 50 percent less likely to graduate from high school than their peers.

Webmaster's Commentary:

New Airline-Ticket Tax to Aid the Developing World

It sounds like a small step, and many airline travelers, already irritated by compulsory surcharges for fuel, baggage and wider seats, may simply ignore it. But behind this call for a voluntary contribution is an unprecedented worldwide effort to make up a shortfall in official government aid to poor countries — a shortfall exacerbated by the world financial crisis.

Video: Amy Goodman challenged over her 9/11 gatekeeping

She opted to fall back on her textbook answer when dealing with questions about 9/11 by saying she thinks "it needs to be investigated, you know, and we'll continue to look at the issue." Rothe-Kushel then reminded Goodman that it has been investigated and that it was time for her to do her job and have the investigators on her show. After the event, Rothe-Kushel asked David Goodman how best to reach his sister about 9/11 and he responded by saying, "I think you just did." However, almost 6 months later, there still has not been a single mention on Democracy Now of the investigative science and analysis of the 9/11 tragedy. So, Ms. Goodman will continue to be chased with questions about her silence on the seminal story of the semi-new century.

Top 10 Americans for monetary reform: #2: Thomas Jefferson

The financial crisis in America today could be over almost instantaneously through monetary reform. Monetary reform is a fundamental shift in how America creates money. The benefits of monetary reform are conservatively $1 TRILLION every year, the end of the national debt, and full employment.

Pittsburgh beefs up security to greet G20 protesters

Pittsburgh is beefing up security with thousands of extra police, as anti-globalization, anti-war, anti-government and anti-poverty activists descend on it for the G20 summit.

Ravenstahl has said protesters will be allowed to exercise their constitutional freedom of speech and assembly "within sight and sound" of the summit venue.

It turns out this will be in a strictly delineated area outside of the downtown cultural area where the likes of US President Barack Obama and China's Hu Jintao will be sitting down with other world leaders.

Obama: 24-hour news cycle fueling anger

The 24-hour news networks and news blogs focus so much on the most extreme elements of political debate that they are effectively fueling anger, President Barack Obama said Sunday.

n one of his many interviews Sunday morning, Obama told CBS News’ Bob Schieffer that “part of what’s different today is that the twenty-four-hour news cycle and cable television and blogs and all this, they focus on the most extreme elements on both sides.

Webmaster's Commentary:

A short memo to President Obama.

President Obama, what is fueling the legitimate concerns and angers of We the People are the truths we are finding out about this government's activities, usually through responsible blogs.

We have been thrown under the bus of a hideously crippling tax debt to fund these wars without end, and the only people benefiting from these wars are the banks, the defence contractors, and the drug lords. We are legitimately concerned and angered about this.

Our high-paying jobs (particularly those in the manufacturing sector) have gone away, leaving many of us no choice but to walk away from homes and mortgages we were able to afford. We are legitimately concerned and angered about this.

Our alleged congressional representatives in the House and Senate are simply acquisitions of those large corporations which contribute, overtly and covertly, to their campaigns. At every turn, you will find these representatives passing legislation which is completely favorable to those corporations (like the provision in the Patriot Act, stating that no US citizen can sue a pharmaceutical company if they are maimed or outright killed by a vaccine), and lousy for We the People. We are concerned and angered about this.

So you see, Mr. President, the American people have every right to be angered by what the federal government is doing right now.

The question is, what shape that anger may take if We the People become stressed to the breaking point by further really bad decisions by this administration.

Home Invasion Blues

This is a blog post I wrote about a home invasion a few days ago. It's not exactly something you would expect to see on WRH, which is why I am putting it under a blog post. (I don't have a good category for it, either, hence the current affairs header.)

I live in Nicaragua, so a lot of people will think this is to be expected. However, it is a result of not only sadism and envy, but of deteriorating economic conditions. A few weeks ago, I told my husband we needed to leave the country because as business owners, we would be a target of the have-nots. I am posting this here because many WRH readers have taken the time to prepare for the events that are about to unfold and those who chose not to prepare out of ignorance or laziness will steal from those who have prepared.

Margaret Kimberley: Protesters against Obama are right, But Racist

Freedom Rider: In Praise of Tea Baggers
by Margaret Kimberley on Tue, 09/15/2009
Only the wrongheaded and racist are taking action at this critical time. Their animosity towards Obama is rooted in the shock and awe brought about by the very presence of a black president. It is also mixed with the anger brought about by the defeat of the Republican Party, accurately perceived as the champion of white America. Unable or unwilling to express the true source of their anger, the self-proclaimed “tea baggers” are left to call Obama a new Hitler, or a new Stalin, or a Kenyan smuggled into Hawaii as a newborn baby.

Military & Govt. oath: Defend the US Constitution against all enemies, foreign and DOMESTIC

Here’s the short and sweet point: once the facts of our government’s “leaders” are revealed (and you’d damn better do your research if you call yourself a citizen), then every man and woman who’s sworn an oath to protect and defend the US Constitution against all enemies, foreign and DOMESTIC, must act to incapacitate those who violate the Constitution. Laws are supposed to be as easy to understand as rules in sports because they’re meant to be obeyed. The US currently has fascist policies such as invading countries who pose no threat, torture, indefinite imprisonment, $2.3 trillion of our dollars “missing” from the Department of Defense: these are OBVIOUS violations against the Constitution that kills millions and destroys the joy of life from the rest of us.

America's failed model for the world

I was treated to a dose of the common wisdom that is taking hold here. Introducing myself as an American evinced a swift reaction from one sweating sauna companion:

"I don't understand you Americans. You blow billions on a useless war in Afghanistan and Iraq, and billions more to bail out banks that nearly bankrupted the world economy, but you don't ensure healthcare for your own people. Even Obama can't make a difference. It's as if your democracy doesn't work anymore."

Webmaster's Commentary:

The American government and "democracy" have become a joke.

The Federal government has borrowed itself into bankruptcy, funding these wars without end, which the taxpayer is ultimately expected to repay.

But there's a problem here: the American taxpayer no longer has the means to pay those taxes, because most of the good jobs which supported American taxpayers for decades have been offshored. Losing jobs leads to losing homes, and creating a cycle of desperation not seen in this country for a long time.

And our alleged "congressional representatives"?

That's also a joke, for most Americans. These folks have simply become acquisitions of the corporations which support them, overtly and covertly, and when legislation comes up for a vote, it's usually great for these corporations, and generally lousy for We the People.

Every empire has a life-cycle. Some are short, others are long. But one thing is certain: the American empire is stunningly close to its demise, and those of us living during this time are witness to this process.

Is America Hooked on War?

Because the United States does not look like a militarized country, it's hard for Americans to grasp that Washington is a war capital, that the United States is a war state, that it garrisons much of the planet, and that the norm for us is to be at war somewhere at any moment. Similarly, we've become used to the idea that, when various forms of force (or threats of force) don't work, our response, as in Afghanistan, is to recalibrate and apply some alternate version of the same under a new or rebranded name -- the hot one now being "counterinsurgency" or COIN -- in a marginally different manner. When it comes to war, as well as preparations for war, more is now generally the order of the day.

This wasn't always the case. The early Republic that the most hawkish conservatives love to cite was a land whose leaders looked with suspicion on the very idea of a standing army. They would have viewed our hundreds of global garrisons, our vast network of spies, agents, Special Forces teams, surveillance operatives, interrogators, rent-a-guns, and mercenary corporations, as well as our staggering Pentagon budget and the constant future-war gaming and planning that accompanies it, with genuine horror.

John Pilger: For Britons, the Party Game Is Over

During the 1914-18 slaughter, Prime Minister Lloyd George confided: "If people really knew [the truth], the war would be stopped tomorrow. But of course they don’t know and can’t know." Have we not yet advanced over a century’s corpses to a point where the likes of Brown are denied their mendacious subterfuge? The Afghan war is a fraud. It began as an American vendetta for domestic consumption in the wake of the 11 September 2001 attacks, in which not a single Afghan was involved. The Taliban, who are Afghans, had no quarrel with the United States and were dealing secretly with the Clinton administration over a strategic pipeline. They offered to apprehend Osama Bin Laden and hand him over to a clerical court, but this was rejected.

US missile system's track record: test delays, failed launches, missed targets

Pelosi sounds alarm over angry tone of US politics

The angry tone of US politics, notably in a feud over health care, risks inciting violence like the unrest that led to high-profile slayings in the 1970s, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Thursday.

US political “leaders” who wage illegal and horrific Wars of Aggression, the worst crime a nation can commit, are actively attacking our Constitution and values. Neither political party will prosecute these crimes.

So what do we do?

Offer Truth and Reconciliation.

Sheriff Gore looks beyond 2010 election

And he knows that the campaign probably will touch on some topics Gore bristles at discussing, such as his role during his 32-year tenure as an FBI agent in the controversial 1992 Ruby Ridge incident, and what some critics say was the FBI's missed opportunity to detect two of the Sept. 11, 2001, hijackers who lived in San Diego a year before the attacks.

Unbelievable - Vehicle Tracking, Taxing Bill In House

A Member of Congress proposes to use taxpayer money to fund the development of technology to track motorists as part of a new form of taxation. US Representative Earl Blumenauer (D-Oregon) introduced H.R. 3311 earlier this year to appropriate $154,500,000 for research and study into the transition to a per-mile vehicle tax system. The "Road User Fee Pilot Project" would be administered by the US Treasury Department. This agency in turn would issue millions in taxpayer-backed grants to well-connected commercial manufacturers of tolling equipment to help develop the required technology. Within eighteen months of the measure's passage, the department would file an initial report outlining the best methods for adopting the new federal transportation tax.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Instead of toying how better to tax the already taxed-to-death American, how about coming up with plans which eliminate these wars without end, and putting that money into infrastructure, and true health care reform?

Of course, that would be logical.

U.S. envoys hesitate to report bad news

U.S. embassies are discouraging or suppressing negative reports to Washington about U.S. allies, sometimes depriving officials of information they need to make good policy decisions, current and former diplomats say.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is what one could characterize as the behavior of people attached to an empire in decline.

Jon Stewart to media on ACORN: “Where the hell were you?

How can the national news media ignore the many allegations of corruption at ACORN, which gets millions of dollars in federal funding, and allow a couple of independents with $3,000 and a bad wardrobe scoop them on the undercover story of the year?

One in Three Think Obama Might Be the Anti-Christ

Poll: One in Three New Jersey Conservatives Thinks Obama Might Be the Anti-Christ

- Twelve percent of McCain voters think Obama is the Anti-Christ. Twenty-one percent are not sure.

- Fourteen percent of Republicans think Obama is the Anti-Christ. Fifteen percent are not sure.

- Eighteen percent of “conservative” voters think Obama is the Anti-Christ. Seventeen percent are not sure.

The big surprise here–the group of voters most likely to think Obama is the Anti-Christ are … Hispanics, who solidly backed Obama in 2008. Only 58 percent of them say, for sure, that their president is not Satan come to wreak havoc here on earth.

Sword-wielding Hopkins student kills intruder

Intruder was repeat offender, released from prison Saturday

Hours earlier, someone had broken into John Pontolillo's house and taken two laptops and a video-game console. Now it was past midnight, and he heard noises coming from the garage out back.

The Johns Hopkins University undergraduate didn't run. He didn't call the police. He grabbed his samurai sword.

With the 3- to 5-foot-long, razor-sharp weapon in hand, police say, Pontolillo crept toward the noise. He noticed a side door in the garage had been pried open. When a man inside lunged at him, police say, the confrontation was fatal.

Is Carter right to label Obama row 'racist'?

Former US President Jimmy Carter says much of the vitriol against President Barack Obama's reforms is "based on racism". Why have Obama's policies led to such a backlash?

Mr Carter told a public meeting there was "an inherent feeling among many in this country that an African-American should not be president".

U.S. to Shelve Nuclear-Missile Shield

Defense Plans for Poland, Czech Republic to Be Dropped as Iran Rocket Threat Downgraded; Moscow Likely to Welcome Move

WASHINGTON -- The White House will shelve Bush administration plans to build a missile-defense system in Poland and the Czech Republic, according to people familiar with the matter, a move likely to cheer Moscow and roil the security debate in Europe.

The U.S. will base its decision on a determination that Iran's long-range missile program has not progressed as rapidly as previously estimated, reducing the threat to the continental U.S. and major European capitals, according to current and former U.S. officials.

Call for an Afghan Surge

America's top military officer endorsed sending more U.S. troops to Afghanistan, a shift in Pentagon rhetoric that heralds a potential deepening of involvement in the Afghan war

Their support makes it easier for Obama to approve the plans of Gen. Stanley McChrystal -- whom the Obama administration installed as the top American commander in Kabul -- when he submits a formal request later this month for as many as 40,000 new troops, in addition to 62,000 now there.

Mr. Obama can send additional forces to Afghanistan without congressional approval

Europe’s complicity in evil: Obama,Bush in Black-Face

Europe’s complicity in evil
By Paul Craig Roberts
Sep 14, 2009, 00:24
Obama represents the same ideology of American “exceptionalism“ as other recent presidents.
Nothing is any different under Obama. Obama has escalated war in Afghanistan; started a new war in Pakistan; tolerated or supported a military coup that overthrew the elected president of Honduras; is constructing seven new US military bases in Colombia, South America; working to destabilize the government in Iran,... The Obama administration’s...platitudes are useful also to disguise the overthrow of US civil liberties, such as habeas corpus, due process, and prohibitions against torture and preemptive arrest.

New U.S Foreign Policy Is An “Obama”nation

More occupation (i.e Somalia) More troops (i.e Afghanstian,Iraq).More oligarchy.More of the same.

The war on terror,as of this morning, has just expanded into new territory – one that goes beyond the scope of the previous administration, causing many to question what change the Obama administration has truly brought to the table in terms of foreign policy. Not only is the United States losing control and support for the other two wars we are currently involved in (i.e Afghanistan,Iraq) but now the current administration has given the green light to expand the front to include the small nation of Somalia, according to the Associated Press

Paul Craig Roberts: Why Propaganda Trumps Truth

Naive people think that if the US government’s explanation of 9/11 was wrong, physicists and engineers would all speak up. Some have (see above). However, for most physicists and engineers this would be an act of suicide. Physicists owe their careers to government grants, and their departments are critically dependent on government funding. A physicist who speaks up essentially ends his university career. If he is a tenured professor, to appease Washington the university would buy out his tenure as BYU did in the case of the outspoken Steven Jones.

An engineering firm that spoke out would never again be awarded a government contract. In addition, its patriotic, flag-waving customers would regard the firm as a terrorist apologist and cease to do business with it.

Whistleblower: Baucus health bill an ‘absolute gift’ to insurers

The health care reform plan proposed by Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus is an “absolute gift” to health care insurance companies, says an industry whistleblower.

Wendell Potter, a former executive at Cigna, said the Baucus plan “would not provide affordable coverage … gives the industry too much latitude to charge higher premiums based on age and geographic location, fails to mandate employer coverage, and pushes consumers into plans with limited benefits,” Politico reports.

Webmaster's Commentary:

As reported here on 16 June, 2009:

"Montana Senator Max Baucus, the chair of the Senate Finance Committee, is the Senate’s point man on healthcare reform. A new article in the Montana Standard finds that Senator Baucus has received more campaign money from health and insurance industry interests than any other member of Congress. The article says, “In the past six years, nearly one-fourth of every dime raised by Baucus and his political-action committee has come from groups and individuals associated with drug companies, insurers, hospitals, medical-supply firms, health-service companies and other health professionals.”"

Baucus is simply another extremely overt "corpritute" who takes money from those insurance interests which supports him, and delivers the goods in terms of legislation which benefits his supporters, but absolutely does not benefit We the People.

Duh, US national security IS NOT threatened by Afghanistan

The chair of the Joint Chiefs testified to Congress today that “success” in Afghanistan requires more US troops and “certainly much more time.” Senator McCain Orwell-spoke that each day we wait to send more US troops to Afghanistan to put their lives in danger, “puts lives in danger.” President Obama defended the strategy of war to produce peace and happiness by saying, "You never step into the same river twice. And so Afghanistan is not Vietnam." I think the president is absolutely correct with my observations about stepping into the same river for a second time: the experience is not quite the same, only about 99%. Polling data also show American support for this war is at its lowest: 58% disapprove and 39% approve.

Is Black Racism Possible?

The State of Racism: Part 1 - Is Black Racism Possible?
Guy White - 3/9/2008
Accusations of white racism are rampant, with the topic of race turning immediately to the alleged hate deep in the heart of every white person. In fact, any “dialogue” on race is nothing more than a vicious black attack on whites who cannot defend themselves and usually respond with a payment to black organizations and neighborhoods from the government and corporations. But what about black racism? Is it even possible? If so, does it exist? And if it exists, is it more or less virulent than white racism?"Black racism is possible. Racism is an ideology and anyone, including blacks, can embrace it."

Yale pharmacology head, Dr. Joseph Schlessinger, suppressed site exposing sexual, financial misconduct, 14 Sep 2009

Earlier this year or late last year, undisclosed individuals, possibly the aggrieved parties in those cases, registered "", where they placed the court records, transcripts, and links to news articles, all woven together in a morally indignant tone that questioned how Dr. Schlessinger had ever been appointed Yale Pharmacology Chair, given this background.

Rather than suing for libel, which may have been a difficult case to sustain, given that most of his critics' allegations were based on the public record, Dr. Schlessinger took a case to the WIPO, or World Intellectual Property Organization, where he claimed that he owned the commonlaw rights to "".
