The FBI’s bogus report on mass shootings

While the FBI study discusses “mass shootings or killings,” its graphs were filled with cases that had nothing to do with mass killings. Of the 160 cases it counted, 32 involved a gun being fired without anyone being killed. Another 35 cases involved a single murder.

St. Louis police give Israeli-style excuses for arresting peaceful protesters

As she waited in line to be processed at the Justice Center, Ozeir recalls an officer asking her, “Were you born in this country?”

“Yes I was born in this country,” she replied.

“You know, you can’t do this stuff in Islamic countries,” he fired back, according to her account.

“What kind of stuff?” she responded.

“You can’t protest in those countries without getting shot,” Ozeir said the officer responded.

“People get shot in this country for doing that here all the time as well. I don’t know what Islamic countries you’re talking about but there are protests there frequently. I can name you some,” Ozeir told the officer.

“All these countries you’re talking about get a lot of money from America, so they’re influenced by America,” Ozeir recalls the officer saying. Ozeir was then taken away for a health screening, bringing the exchange to an end.

Edward Snowden Doc 'Citizenfour' Reveals Existence of Second NSA Whistleblower

In the key scene, journalist Glenn Greenwald visits Snowden at a hotel room in Moscow. Fearing they are being taped, Greenwald communicates with Snowden via pen and paper.

While some of the exchanges are blurred for the camera, it becomes clear that Greenwald wants to convey that another government whistleblower -- higher in rank than Snowden -- has come forward.

Illinois chancellor who fired Salaita accused of serial self-plagiarism

Chancellor Phyllis Wise, the top administrator who fired Steven Salaita from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign after complaints from pro-Israel donors, is facing allegations from academic peers of unethical conduct that may stretch back two decades.

Evidence has emerged of several instances of duplicate publishing – a widely condemned form of unethical behavior sometimes called “self-plagiarism.”

It occurs when an author publishes the same research or the same or substantially similar paper in multiple venues without acknowledging the fact, in effect passing off the old research as something new.

Bob Herbert Tells Bill Moyers How Corporations and the Big Banks Have Hijacked the Country

Three years ago, reporter and former New York Times columnist Bob Herbert took to the road and traveled across the United States to gather research for his new book, Losing Our Way. In it, Herbert tells the stories of the brave, hard-working men and women he met who have been battered by the economic downturn. He found an America in which jobs have disappeared, infrastructure is falling apart and the “virtuous cycle” of well-paid workers spending their wages to power the economy has been broken by greed and the gap between the very rich and everyone else.

Mass protests slam US-EU trade deal as 'corporate power grab'

Tens of thousands of people are flooding the streets of cities all over Europe on Saturday in mass rallies against a controversial trade agreement between the US and the EU.

Talks on the pact, called the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP), started last February and, having been mostly held behind closed doors, have raised widespread concerns in the European Union and beyond.

Social networks have been mobilized for a mass campaign that has been calling on Europeans and Americans to take action against “the biggest corporate power grab in a decade.”

Senator: Valerie Jarrett Was Involved in IRS Scandal

Republican Kansas Sen. Pat Roberts said Friday that he thinks the IRS targeting scandal was driven by Valerie Jarrett’s office in the White House, according to information that he saw that Democrats tried to “whitewash.”

Roberts told talk radio host Hugh Hewitt that he participated in a Senate Finance Committee investigation into the IRS scandal but “the effort was made by the majority, by the Democrats in the Congress, to simply end that investigation,” which he called a “whitewash.”

“I’m convinced that even Valerie Jarrett was involved,” Roberts said.

The Pinhead Infantry of the Ignorant Armies of Night.

I am wondering... seriously... how stupid do you have to be to be seeking a career in today's second most amoral army on the planet? Maybe they aren't stupid. Maybe they are desperate and of course, in some cases, they like the idea of playing out heroic fictions. If it's a case of them thinking they are the good guys; that is stone cold, immovable ignorance. You've got to be as dumb as The Palin Family or a member of Congress to believe something like this. Of course, the congressional members are sanctimonious demagogues as much as anything else. They're actors who play a part while actually being apart from the act. They got a bonhomie machine that cranks out the feel good vibe even when they're not taking your hand and grabbing your elbow at the same time.

Texas Ebola Outbreak Results in Forced Quarantine, Blood Draws Or Arrest

The United States has taken action in light of the recent Ebola outbreak in Dallas, appearing to want to keep the issue isolated. The U.S. government has forced quarantine and blood draws from the family in Dallas where a member was found to have the virus. They face arrest if they don’t comply.

My question is – if the government was so keen on keeping this ‘virus’ (biowarfare) in control, why didn’t they restrict travel from countries where it is running rampant? Why have they not informed hospitals of the possible dangers? Why was this man, who sought medical attention, turned loose to possibly contaminate hundreds more people before the government then decided to use militia tactics for lock down?

Webmaster's Commentary:

What is that line from DC, "Never let a good crisis go to waste"?!?

What if this is less about keeping people safe than it is about using the fear this outbreak has caused as a weapon of psychological control as the "justification" for declaring national, martial law, suspending the Bill of Rights and Constitution, and postponing November's elections?!?

And please don't tell me Obama's advisers haven't thought about it, given what the polls look like right now!!!

Details of How Mandatory Ebola Vaccines Will Soon Be a Reality

What I learned from the meeting is that 0ver the next several days, the public is going to see several journalists revealing both classified and non classified material l related to the Ebola outbreak, and the subsequent deliberate spreading of Ebola through governmental inaction. The American people are also going to hear about operational details about how the government plans to deal with the Ebola outbreak.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The big pharmaceutical corporations are already drooling over the coming tsunami of cash, and indemnified by the Homeland Security Act and the "Fast track" legislation, are about to foist a whole array of unproven and possibly dangerous concoctions on a gullible public. We have seen these manufacturers make some pretty bad mistakes in the past. The recent "epidemics" of measles and mumps overwhelmingly hit children who had received the MMR vaccine. Those who had not had the vaccine suffered much lower infection rates. The current Enterovirus outbreak is primarily hitting the children who had the "Triple whammy" of the MMR, Seasonal Flu, and polio vaccines. The symptoms of this illness are very close to those of polio, including permanent paralysis and some deaths, and may be a repeat of the disaster in India in 2011 in which a polio vaccine triggered polio symptoms such as permanent paralysis in 47,500 patients. India is now suing the promoters of the polio vaccine campaign.

In 1976 there was an outbreak of Swine Flu in the United States and the US Government ordered mandatory vaccinations, which had to stopped when it turned out the vaccine was killing 50 times as many people as the flu itself. During a more recent Swine Flu scare, the vaccines triggered an epidemic of Guillain-Barre syndrome. The 2009 "When Pigs Fly" flu was declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization, only after it artificially lowered the threshold of number of cases needed to make that headline-grabbing claim. People were stampeded into purchasing Tamiflu. Later studies showed that Tamiflu was no better at dealing with the flu than ordinary acetaminophen!

Today the big money is in the HPV vaccines, supposedly administered to prevent Cervical cancer, and given to girls (and oddly enough boys) too young to engage in sexual activity, and requiring an additional shot when they reach maturity. One of the most popular HPV vaccine, Gardasil, has harmed a great many patients, with symptoms that include sterility! Many nations, such as Japan, are dropping support for mandated HPV shots.

Fraud is rampant in the vaccine industry. In one case a researcher "testing" a new HIV vaccine spiked the test samples with HIV antibodies to make it look like the vaccine was working.

For a long time, parents of children who developed autism following the 36 vaccinations now recommended for children claimed there was a link between the vaccine and autism, most likely tied in with the mercury based preservative Thimerosal. But in 2004 the CDC released a report claiming that no link was found between MMR vaccines and autism. More recently, one of the doctors who worked on that report for the CDC, William W. Thompson, has blown the whistle that the CDC rigged the 2004 study to protect the vaccine industry profits. Despite this revelation, the orthodox medical establishment still cites the 2004 CDC report to assure parents that vaccines do not cause autism. The US has an autism rate of 1 child out of every 68, higher than any other nation on Earth. It is worth noting that among the American Amish, who refuse vaccines for religious reasons, the rate of autism is1 in 10,000.

Back in 1918, at the end of WW1, a pandemic swept the globe ultimately killing more people than had died in the war itself. The public was told it was a "Spanish" flu to obscure its real origins in a series of vaccine trials at Camp Funston (now Fort Riley) in the US, from which it spread to the rest of the globe with the deployment of infected US troops.

So now the same corporations that did all the above (and even worse) along with the same government that lied to you about the Spanish Flu, Saddam's nukes, and the 2004 CDC autism study want to make a fast buck selling you a miracle cure for one of the most deadly diseases known to humans, and expect us to trust them when they start pumping who knows what into our arms.

I don't think so!

Harry Reid's bodyguard attacks journalist for questioning the Senator's net worth

Journalist, activist and author Jason Mattera received a violent response from one of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s bodyguards after questioning the origins of Reid’s multi-million dollar net worth.

“How did you become so rich working in government?” asked Mattera who received no response after he and Reid had formally greeted.

hat's when one of Reid's bodyguards proceeded to put his hands on the journalist.

Even after Matera identified himself as press, the goon bodyguard continued to grip him up and drive him away from the Senator.

“I don’t care if you’re press or not,” the bodyguard explained.

Reid’s most recent net worth disclosure shows the Senator sitting somewhere between $2.9 and $6.7 million.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Reid, like so many of his contemporaries in Congress, continues to get rich from inside information, and both covert, and overt, corporate campaign donations.

This is why every time a Congressional representative makes the comment that they are supporting legislation "for the good of the people", they are lying through their teeth; they do what they do for their own financial gain, and the gain of those companies which support them financially.

“Bathroom Cops” Arresting Men in Public Bathrooms After “Shaking Off” When Done Urinating

A string of recent complaints filed by alleged victims of wrongful arrest are bringing question to NYPD practices of arresting men in public restrooms. There are currently undercover cops posted up in public restrooms across New York City, waiting to catch sexual predators in the act.

However, according to dozens of alleged victims, average men are becoming entrapped by these undercover agents, when they have done nothing wrong. Many of the victims have claimed that after urinating, “shaking off” and zipping up their pants, they were accused of “simulating masturbation” in view of the police officer.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I guess New York is so crime free the cops have nothing better to do with their taxpayer-funded time!

Why Are Police Using Military-Grade Weapons in High Schools?

Michael Davis' block in Los Angeles used to have huge trees on both sides of the street, so big they created a canopy. "They were beautiful," says the 17-year-old high school senior. "They covered the whole top of the block." But recently, he says, the trees were cut down. In their place, there are now bright lights and security cameras. Davis is a youth leader with the Community Rights Campaign and its student club Taking Action, which organize around the school-to-prison pipeline, mass incarceration, and the criminalization of black and brown communities in Los Angeles. Having the trees on his block replaced with cameras and lights was just one sign of what Davis describes as a nationwide trend of police militarization against communities of color.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Are these school districts out of their collective minds?!?

This has nothing to do with education, and everything to do with indoctrination of children into the US's "new normal", where weapon-wielding officers are the norm, to get kids "used to it", as this kind of surveillance/instant punishment goes mainstream.

Were I a mom of a kid in a school where this was being done, I would pull my kid out of that school so fast, the principal's head would spin.

NSA May Have Undercover Operatives in Foreign Companies

As a much-anticipated documentary about NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden premiers in New York this evening, new revelations are being published simultaneously that expose more information about the NSA’s work to compromise computer networks and devices.

Newly-brought-to-light documents leaked by Snowden discuss operations by the NSA working inside China, Germany and South Korea to help physically subvert and compromise foreign networks and equipment, according to a report published by The Intercept. They also suggest the NSA may have undercover agents planted inside companies to provide assistance in gaining access to systems in the global communications industry. And they bolster previous reports that the NSA works with U.S. and foreign companies to weaken their encryption systems.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Nothing surprises me any more about the lengths to which this federal government will go to subvert and surveille other governments.

And for quite some time, I have not been able to believe ANYTHING this government tells me; it is all lies to prop up whatever agenda is important to it at any given moment.

Yet despite so much ‘danger’, this was one of the greatest periods of wealth creation in history, simply because people were free to make things happen.

People were free to enter, compete, and make choices in the market. Their freedom and property rights were protected by a clear rule of law.

However, just 50-years later, this positive trajectory was cut short with the establishment of the Federal Reserve.

Exclusive: Feds take jobs from disabled Americans, send them to Central Asia

Sibyl Mikell has worked in the same New Orleans warehouse by the Mississippi River docks since 1980, one of dozens of blind workers who make the mess trays sent to U.S. military forces overseas — including her own son, who finished his second tour of duty in Afghanistan earlier this year.

This operation is an integral part of AbilityOne, a program that awards government contracts to nonprofits that employ blind and disabled people to produce basic products for the military. But Ms. Mikell and 42 coworkers were recently and abruptly laid off from their jobs at Lighthouse for the Blind in New Orleans because of a little-known change in federal procurement rules that encourages military forces in Afghanistan to buy from manufacturers and brokers in Central Asia.

NYPD cop takes $1,300 from man, pepper-sprays him in the face when he complains

cell phone video shows a New York City police officer use pepper spray on a man and his sister after they complained the cop had taken more than $1,000 during a stop-and-frisk search.

Lamard Joye was stopped by police Sept. 16 in Coney Island after confronting officers who roughed up a young man nearby, said the man’s attorney.

“Is that necessary?” Joye and some friends asked police, according to the attorney.

One of Joye’s friends begins recording video, posted online by the New York Daily News, that shows an officer standing face-to-face with Joye, who oustretches his arms and says, “You see this?”

The officer then reaches into Joye’s pocket and pulls out a handful of cash, and smacks his face and calls him an “asshole” when Joye asks him to return the money.

The video shows the officer squirt pepper spray at Joye, who retreats as onlookers accuse the cop of stealing his money.

Notice that ISIS Isn’t Beheading Swiss Citizens

Like the United States, Switzerland has a welfare state and a regulated society.

Yet, notice something important: Switzerland isn’t the subject of terrorist attacks, and the Islamic State isn’t beheading Swiss citizens. Wouldn’t you think that if radical Muslims hate the United States for its freedom and values, they would also hate Switzerland for its freedom and values, especially since the freedom and values of the United States are similar to those of Switzerland, with one major exception?

So, what’s that major exception? Is it possible that that major exception could provide a clue as to which comes first: terrorism or U.S. interventionism?

Webmaster's Commentary:

Let me say this straightaway: I do not condone ANY violence, period, end of discussion. That which is hardest, true, good-faith negotiations, is always the best.

However, that having been said, the American government's interventionism and pre-emptive wars (for profit, and maintaining the US dollar as the world's reserve currency) have not won it many friends around the world, particularly if people who have had innocent family members or friends slain, or maimed, as a result of the US government's mucking about with other people's countries.

Badcop: Not First Offense for NYPD Cop Caught on Camera Pistol-Whipping Teen

The NYPD officer who used his gun to bludgeon an unarmed Brooklyn teenager in the face has been suspended without pay and might be indicted, after video footage of the violent August arrest went public this week.

But then, this isn’t Officer David Afanador’s first brush with the law he is sworn to uphold. Nor is it the first time that Afanador’s misconduct under the color of authority has involved a camera.

In 2009, Afanador was one of five officers who were defendants in a lawsuit against the NYPD. According to the complaint, Afanador and four of his colleagues were strip-searching a suspect on the street when plaintiff Ranique Williams walked by. For whatever reason—legally, he never needed one—Williams whipped out his camera and started snapping pictures.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The paramilitary training of American police (generally by Israeli resources) makes them believe they have a carte blanche to break every rule, and that they can get away with it.

Rogue police officers who behave in this way should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, and definitely need to re-define what the phrase "To Protect and Serve" means.

How The NSA Plans To Recruit Your Teenagers

Kids across America no longer have to wait until college to plan on being a part of the National Security Agency. In fact, they could start preparing for their NSA careers as early as age 13.

The NSA has began sponsoring cybersecurity camps for middle and high school students, agency recruiter Steven LaFountain told CNBC’s Eamon Javers in a recent interview. Six prototype camps launched this past summer, and the NSA hopes to expand the program to some 25 schools and, eventually, to have a presence in schools in all 50 states.

The camps, LaFountain told CNBC, teach “low-level programming… where most cybersecurity vulnerabilities are” and sponsor activities like a “wireless scavenger hunt” in which 10th graders were dispatched to hunt down “rogue access points.” The general idea is to eliminate “threats out there on the Internet”

“The students are really, really into it,” LaFountain added.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The problem here, is what does the NSA consider a "threat"?!?

Is it a coming from a Christian pacifist (like myself) who believes that wars are a really lousy way of resolving geopolitical differences, and that good faith negotiations are always preferable to people getting killed or maimed for life?!?

IS it people who tell the truth about what a bloated, corrupt instrument of power and control, which always looks out for the monied, this Federal Government has become?!?

The NSA wants business to continue as usual for the major corporations and the wealthy, with never a logical thought about how much better life would be if people were exposed consistently to the truth, in order to have the power to make intelligent, rational choices in their lives.

Foreign Media is Losing Their Freedom to Lie in Russia

The editorial teams of foreign-owned media are presently bustling with activity to make a last ditch effort to abort their demise. In doing so, they curiously testify to the present media freedom of Russia. I refer here to two articles in The Moscow Times last week: Foreign Media Law Makes Putin Less Glamorous and Curbs on Foreign Ownership Will Gut Russia’s Media.

These articles testify to how freely the Western media has been able to operate in Russia all the while complaining about total lack of press freedom. This surprises me greatly, because having followed for years The Moscow Times (TMT) and its peer publications, including its Russian language half-sister Vedomosti (The Financial Times, The Wall Street Journal, and Finland’s Sanoma corporation), I can only recollect their constant complaints about the lack of media freedom in “Putin’s Russia”.

First Whitewater prosecutor says 'serious crimes' were uncovered in probe

The first federal prosecutor to probe the financial dealings of Bill and Hillary Clinton says he was poised to bring high-profile indictments against top Arkansas political and business figures — based in part on testimony from a chief witness against the then president — when he was abruptly replaced by a panel of federal judges, throwing his investigation into turmoil.

"I was angry, frustrated and above all disappointed that I was not going to be able to carry through and finish bringing the indictments," writes Robert Fiske, a former U.S. attorney who served as the original independent counsel in charge of the Whitewater investigation, in a forthcoming memoir, "Prosecutor Defender Counselor."

Fiske — ever the punctilious prosecutor — offers no judgments on the conduct of the Clintons, nor on that of the man who replaced him, Kenneth Starr.

SWAT Team Shot David Hooks At Home After Tip From Meth Addict

Sheriff's deputies raided the home without identifying themselves, Shook said, contrary to their claims that they told Hooks they were officers with a search warrant. The sheriff's office had also said they fired at Hooks for aggressively pointing a gun at them near the back door, but Shook alleges that the deputies blindly shot at Hooks through a wall without knowing who was there.

When Hooks' wife saw men in dark clothing heading for their home at 11 p.m. on Sept. 24, she woke up her husband and told him that the thieves who had stolen their SUV were back. Hooks grabbed a gun and headed to the door, according to Shook.

Deputies shot more than 16 times, Shook said in a statement.

No charges against SWAT officers who maimed toddler during raid

Georgia law enforcement officers responsible for a bungled SWAT raid that left a toddler burned and disfigured will not face criminal charges, a grand jury has decided. The case is now being reviewed by federal officials.

News of the decision first broke on Monday, when a 23-person grand jury in Habersham County, Georgia, called the investigation “hurried and sloppy” but chose not to indict any officials involved in the SWAT operation’s planning or execution, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

During the May drug raid, 19-month-old infant Bounkham “Bou Bou” Phonesavanh had his face severely burned and disfigured after a flashbang grenade landed in his playpen while he was asleep. The baby – who underwent more than one surgery as a result of his injuries – had his nose detached from his face and suffered from an open gash in his chest as well as a collapsed lung.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Very obviously, the disfigurement of an innocent toddler is how Georgia police interpret the motto "...to protect and serve." But what is frightening is that the grand jury just let these cops walk.

I think this state just made my "never visit, EVER!" list.

And take a look at the following, just so you understand that police departments in Georgia are "equal opportunity killers" when it comes to age range of the people they try to (and do) assassinate in botched drug raids. As reported at policestateusa.com:

A drug task force gunned down a grandfather in his home during a botched late-night raid that was based on the word of a self-confessed meth addict and burglar who had robbed the property two nights prior. His grieving widow is disputing the official story regarding the no-knock raid that led to her husband’s untimely death. The devastating incident occurred the evening of September 24, 2014. David Hooks and his wife of 25 years, Teresa, had settled in for the evening; Mr. Hooks was asleep and his wife was upstairs in her craft room. At approximately 11:00 p.m., she noticed a vehicle abruptly race down her driveway. She saw men jump out of the vehicle and approach her home, donning black and camouflage clothing, shrouded in hoods. Mr. Hooks, a 59-year-old businessman, sprang from his bed and picked up a firearm, then took a defensive stand to protect his wife and home from the intruders. As he exited his bedroom, the back door of the house was breached, and gun-wielding home invaders charged in. What happened next was described as “chaos.” The intruders used their weapons to send a hail of gunfire into the residence; a total of 16-18 shots from rifles and .40 caliber handguns. When the gun smoke cleared, it became evident that the intruders were actually a Drug Task Force and members of the Laurens County Sheriff’s Response Team (SRT). Mr. Hooks was killed without returning fire. The officers claimed to be looking for methamphetamines. After searching the home forty-four (44) hours, not a single trace of narcotics was retrieved. “Voters will remember this”: Scott Walker administration says $7.25 an hour is a “living wage”

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker has rejected a labor group’s effort to increase the state’s $7.25 an hour minimum wage.

The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports that a coalition led by the group Wisconsin Jobs Now had seized on a provision in Wisconsin law which states that the minimum wage must be a “living wage” – defined as “reasonable comfort, reasonable physical well-being, decency and moral well-being.” However, the Journal-Sentinel noted, state law also allows governors to weigh such factors as the wage’s impact on the labor market. (Studies show that state increases in the minimum wage don’t harm job growth.)

Citing the living wage provision, the coalition last month urged the Walker administration’s labor department to raise the state’s minimum wage. In rebuffing the effort, the Walker administration isn’t just citing the other factors a governor is allowed to consider – it’s actually asserting that $7.25 an hour is a living wage.

US says it can hack into foreign-based servers without warrants

The US government may hack into servers outside the country without a warrant, the Justice Department said in a new legal filling in the ongoing prosecution of Ross Ulbricht. The government believes that Ulbricht is the operator of the Silk Road illicit drug website.

Monday's filing in New York federal court centers on the legal brouhaha of how the government found the Silk Road servers in Iceland. Ulbricht said last week that the government's position—that a leaky CAPTCHA on the site's login led them to the IP address—was "implausible" and that the government (perhaps the National Security Agency) may have unlawfully hacked into the site to discover its whereabouts.

FLASHBACK - DHS Orders Bagpipes? So Much for Sequester Cuts

Apparently the head of the Department of Homeland Security is not even trying to save the government any money. Yesterday DHS ordered a new supply of musical instruments including bagpipes and drums. There is music writing software included in the order as well as the many small parts that go into caring for bagpipes.

I guess Napolitano didn’t get the memo. We are supposed to be saving money here! How exactly are we “securing the homeland” with bagpipes and drums? The problem here is, that Democrats keep saying that the sequester cuts were too much and that we weren’t going to be able to continue life as we know it without this money. Well obviously, that’s just not true.

Ebola: Why don't we just ban flights from Africa?

The World Health Organization has said repeatedly it does not recommend travel bans on the countries affected by the Ebola outbreakl because that would leave the countries cut off from the rest of the world, “resulting in detrimental economic consequences, and hinder relief and response efforts, risking further international spread.” http://www.who.int/mediacentre/news/statements/2014/ebola-2nd-ihr-meet...

The key problem in travel bans, says the WHO and others, is that ending flights in and out of affected countries hinders these countries’ ability to receive the new supplies they so desperately need. As well, there are already not enough health workers on the ground in the affected countries. What foreign worker would willingly fly into the epidemic to offer assistance knowing they might not be allowed to fly back out?

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is about protecting the profits of the airline corporations as we head into the holiday travel season. The fact is that the United States maintains a military airlift capability that is the rival of any commercial airline and can go wherever they need to go. The US Government is still treating Ebola as a political and economic issue. They want people to keep buying airline tickets. They want people to flood into the shopping malls for the Christmas shopping season. They want to make sure everyone shows up to vote next month. And mostly they don't want people to start thinking that maybe it is time to stop waging wars against countries on the other side of the globe and spend the taxpayer's money to protect the US from a major epidemic.

Illegal Alien Disease Epidemic – Doctors & Nurses Gagged, Threatened With Arrest If They Talk

The message to doctors and nurses was simple; you talk, you go to jail. That message was delivered by officers of the government security contractors hired to police the Lackland Air Base illegal alien induction facility.

Some have spoken up anyway, because the risks are so great. They say the American taxpayers and citizens have a right to know what disease epidemic risk is being brought into our nation. They were interviewed confidentially by Todd Starnes of Fox News.

Lights, Camera… Covert Action: The Deep Politics of Hollywood

A variety of state agencies have liaison offices in Hollywood today, from the FBI, to NASA and the Secret Service. Few of these agencies, though, have much to offer in exchange for favourable storylines, and so their influence in Hollywood is minimal. The major exception here is the Department of Defense, which has an ‘open’ but barely publicized relationship with Tinsel Town, whereby, in exchange for advice, men and invaluable equipment, such as aircraft carriers and helicopters, the Pentagon routinely demands flattering script alterations. Examples of this policy include changing the true identity of a heroic military character in Black Hawk Down (2001) due to his real-life status as a child rapist; the removal of a joke about “losing Vietnam” from the James Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies (1997), and cutting images of Marines taking gold teeth from dead Japanese soldiers in Windtalkers (2002).

Britain's fracking trespass law flouts UK citizens’ democratic rights – Naomi Klein

Recent legislative changes, which enable fracking firms to drill beneath UK citizens’ land without their permission, flout Britons’ fundamental democratic rights, author and activist Naomi Klein warns.

Speaking at an event chaired by Guardian columnist Owen Jones on Monday evening, Klein emphasized that the British government’s recent overhaul of trespass laws – orchestrated to make it quicker and easier for fracking firms to drill beneath Britons’ land – was fuelling nationwide resistance.

Speaking to an audience in London, the Canadian writer and campaigner said an underlying factor driving the anti-fracking movement was the necessity to defend democracy.

Indiana trooper pulled over woman to ask if she’d accepted Jesus Christ as her savior: lawsuit

An Indiana woman says a state trooper pulled her over this summer and asked if she had accepted Jesus Christ as her personal lord and savior.

Ellen Bogan said she was stopped in August by Indiana State Trooper Brian Hamilton, who asked whether she had a home church and handed her a pamphlet asking her to “acknowledge she is a sinner.”

“It’s completely out of line and it just — it took me back,” Bogan told The Indianapolis Star.

Officer Friendly has gone rabid

I do not trust the police at all any more. The news has utterly destroyed their reputation, and it’s damned clear that they have a screwed-up idea of their mission.

Case in point: this is how Indiana police respond to a seat belt infraction. That’s right, a woman forget to fasten her seat belt when she was rushing to the hospital.

Lisa Mahone said she was pulled over Sept. 25 by Hammond police for a seat belt violation as she drove with her boyfriend and their two children to a Chicago hospital, where doctors had said her mother was near death.

She handed over her driver’s license and proof of insurance, and police asked her boyfriend, Jamal Jones, for his ID.

Jones told police he did not have an ID because he had recently gotten a ticket, and he reached into a book bag on the back seat to show them the ticket.

Nuland Arrives to Ukraine to Give Poroshenko Marching Orders Prior to Elections

US Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland's visit to Kiev came ahead of parliamentary elections in Ukraine so that the top US official could give her "marching orders" to Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, professor of international law at the University of Illinois College of Law Francis Boyle said.

Boyle points out that "Nuland certainly is not over there to promote democracy: there are elections coming up in Ukraine toward the end of the month, but clearly these are "Potemkin's village" elections simply to enable the Obama administration to say there is a democratically elected government and parliament, while no one in Donbas is voting and there's already been lustration applied to prevent any of the opposition to vote."

Florida Cop Molests Boy In Mall Bathroom, Avoids Jail, Keeps Pension.

An administrative law judge Tuesday said a former Collier County sheriff's deputy should be able to receive state retirement benefits, despite pleading no contest to felony child-abuse charges stemming from accusations he sexually molested a minor. The state Board of Administration, which oversees the Florida Retirement System, sought the forfeiture of Charles Bullock's retirement benefits after the no-contest plea.

Bullock was charged with going to a mall food-court bathroom at least three times between November 2009 and February 2010 to have sexual encounters with a boy under age 16.

On two of the occasions, he molested the boy, and Bullock was interrupted by a mall employee on the third occasion, leading to the criminal investigation, Tuesday's ruling said.

Cops on camera: These powerful video clips show why recording the police is so important

Video has played a huge role in relationships between citizens and the police over the last 25 years. It has helped hold cops accountable for abuse and also protected them from false allegations.

Now, after the shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, this summer and the protests that followed, there's been a "sudden and seismic" shift toward police use of body cameras — a way to record most, or all, interactions between residents and police. Vox explains how video recordings can be good for both citizens and cops — but can also raise more questions than they answer, especially when it comes to who's allowed to control the footage.?

Obama Threatens More Sanctions Against Zimbabwe Over Russian-Platinum Deal

As Martin Armstrong exclaims, Obama is out of control. According to NewZimbabwe.com, Washington has said it will accelerate sanctions imposed against Harare in 2003, due to the Robert Mugabe-led government's closer ties with Russia over the US$3 billion Darwendale platinum project. Herald columnist Nathaniel Manheru (who is thought to be Mugabe's spokesman), reported, Washington explained its expectations on Zimbabwe, namely that Zimbabwe was expected (read required) to support those sanctions by avoiding any association with companies sanctioned by the Americans and their Western allies, or their subsidiaries or affiliates. Manheru said "it was ridiculous for the US to refuse to lift sanctions against Harare and then demand support for its measures against Moscow... This is where I am tempted to tell the American government to go and hang, hang on a banana tree, bums up."

Biden's Speech Might Backfire on Washington: Former Assistant Secretary of Treasury

Speech of the US Vice President Joe Biden can backfire on Washington, as it embarrasses the European Union members and demonstrates the US has intimidated them, Paul Craig Roberts, former Assistant Secretary of the Treasury, believes.

"One of the possible consequences is that his speech embarrasses European governments by showing that Europe is Washington's vassal," Roberts told RIA Novosti on Friday. "The other is that by pressing Europeans to act against their own interests, Washington might have been too much of a bully and hurt its future influence in Europe."

US Vice President said Thursday that the United States and US President Barack Obama, in particular, had forced the European Union members to "take economic hits to impose cost" on Russia.

Man Wearing “F**K The Police” Shirt in Court Denied 5th Amendment, Wins Trial Anyway

Citizen journalist Michael Burns recently witnessed a large group of police shutting down a peaceful gathering near highway 27 in Broward County, Florida, at around 1:30 in the morning.

Burns decided to stop and film the encounter, to provide some assistance to the victims who were at risk of having their rights violated by police.

The police on the scene reacted very harshly with Burns, and told him that he was not allowed to film on public property.

When the action in the area had died down, Burns decided to get the names and badge numbers of a few officers and head home. When he got into his car to leave, he was trailed by multiple officers, pulled over, and harassed.

Ferguson Protesters Outfitted In Orange Jumpsuits And Jailed With High Bail (UPDATE)

More than a dozen people arrested during protests outside the Ferguson Police Department early Friday were outfitted with orange prison jumpsuits, slapped with high bail and locked behind bars for hours longer than most others arrested in earlier demonstrations against the police shooting of unarmed teenager Michael Brown.

The 13 protestors, including many seized while standing on the sidewalk, were arrested by police officers from St. Louis County Police and Missouri State Highway Patrol and were jailed in nearby St. Ann. Video of the arrests show protestors on the sidewalk, and not blocking the street, when officers moved in. They were charged with offenses that included failure to comply with police, noise ordinance violations and resisting arrest.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Oh, this is REALLY going to help mend race relations in Ferguson...NOT!!

It appears that the city, country, and police are doing everything possible to exacerbate the situation here, rather than ratchet down the tension, and almost feels.....deliberate.

But the big problems here are poverty, despair, and hopelessness. As reported in www.areavibes.com:

The income per capita in Ferguson is 8.1% less than the Missouri average and 20.5% less than the National average. The median household income in Ferguson is 16.2% less than the Missouri average and 29% less than the National average. The poverty level in Ferguson is 13.1% less than the Missouri average and 5.9% less than the National average. The median earnings for males in Ferguson is 46.1% greater than the median earnings for females in Ferguson.

Decent jobs, paying a livable wage, coupled with education, could make a tremendous difference here.

But unfortunately, creating situations where that could actually happen are very low on both the State's and Federal Government's agenda.

And until this happens, Furgeson, and all the small, poor towns like it in this country, will remain powder kegs, ready to erupt when the tragedy of another poor, unarmed African American kid gets blown away by another cop happens.

Call of Duty Director: US Troops Should Occupy Public Schools

A former writer and director behind the successful Call of Duty video game franchise recently expressed his desire to see American soldiers patrolling the hallways of public schools in the near future.

On Wednesday, nonresident fellow Dave Anthony at a recent meeting with the globalist Atlantic Council said it was necessary to have the military stationed at schools to combat the threat posed by Islamic terrorists, whom he claimed could already be working inside America.

“It could be that you have 100 of these guys who may be on our soil right now, who may even be U.S. citizens, who could legally walk into whatever gun store they choose, buy some assault rifles, and start attacking soft targets,” Anthony said, adding a jab at the Second Amendment.

“The threat now, the invasion, comes from within,” Anthony told the Council, adding he envisioned “the soldiers could operate like air marshals on commercial flights,” according to Bloomberg Businessweek.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Absoflippinglutely not!!

The "cure" for this would be massive numbers of Americans deciding to home school their kids, and this is an outcome which I think would be very reasonable if these protocols are adopted nationally.

I would also like to remind to Mr. Anthony that the vast preponderance of school shootings have been done by people on - or just trying to get off - antidepressants, so there are chemical triggers to this behaviour which need to be addressed.

The NSA and Me

For several years I had been working on my first book, The Puzzle Palace, which provided the first in-depth look at the National Security Agency. The deeper I dug, the more troubled I became. Not only did the classified file from the Justice Department accuse the NSA of systematically breaking the law by eavesdropping on American citizens, it concluded that it was impossible to prosecute those running the agency because of the enormous secrecy that enveloped it. Worse, the file made clear that the NSA itself was effectively beyond the law—allowed to bypass statutes passed by Congress and follow its own super-classified charter, what the agency called a “top-secret birth certificate” drawn up by the White House decades earlier.

Germany handed law-protected private data to NSA for years – reports

Intelligence service BND failed to protect the private data of German citizens as it handed over internet data collected at a Frankfurt traffic hub to the US, German media report citing secret documents.

The documents cited by VDR and EDR television and the newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung, which broke the news together, were obtained from the federal government during an ongoing parliamentary investigation into US National Security Service spying on German soil.

Just like the NSA is forbidden by the law to spy on Americans, the BND is not allowed to spy on Germans. So when last year in was revealed that the two intelligence services had been collaborating to collect communication data at the De-Cix internet exchange node in Frankfurt, the BND had to produce explanations.

The Konyism of Samantha Power, US Ambassador to the United Nations

Obama’s administration sinks in the quicksand of its liberal ambitions –few of its liberal foreign policy objectives have been met; not the closing down of Guantanamo’s prison, nor the tethering of an out-of-control surveillance apparatus, nor even the War on Terror in general. In fact, Obama has intensified the drone warfare in Yemen and Pakistan, and tethered itself to a resurgent Saudi Arabia on the back of Qatari withdrawal. To polish its carapace, the Obama administration has become a latter-day believer in gay rights on the world stage. Power went on Jay Leno’s program to talk about global LGBT rights and held a Google hangout with human rights activists where the issue of LGBT rights was center-stage (later, on twitter, Power mourned the loss of “Eric Ohena Lembembe, a courageous Cameroonian activist tortured to death last month”). But, to stay on the Uganda story, Power did not raise the issue of LGBT rights and Uganda.

U.S. Back to Openly Supporting Tyranny in Egypt

t is, of course, very difficult to choose the single most extreme episode of misleading American media propaganda, but if forced to do so, coverage of the February, 2011 Tahrir Square demonstrations in Egypt would be an excellent candidate. For weeks, U.S. media outlets openly positioned themselves on the side of the demonstrators, depicting the upheaval as a Manichean battle between the evil despot Hosni Mubarak’s “three decades of iron rule” and the hordes of ordinary, oppressed Egyptians inspirationally yearning for American-style freedom and democracy.

Almost completely missing from this feel-good morality play was the terribly unpleasant fact that Mubarak was one of the U.S. Government’s longest and closest allies and that his ”three decades of iron rule” — featuring murder, torture and indefinite detention for dissidents — were enabled in multiple ways by American support.

‘Obama to be remembered as someone who betrayed his supporters’

President Obama has turned out to be another failed big government president, who put America into a new war, spied on its own citizens, and made a disastrous health care reform, Executive Director of the Libertarian Party Carla Howell told RT.

RT: The US strikes on ISIS have already cost it around $780-930 million, which is not pleasant news for the American taxpayers but makes a profit for the industries involved. Does President Obama even know about discontent among his citizens?

Carla Howell: I’m sure he is fully informed; he has got an enormous staff to keep him informed of what is going on. Clearly, what he is trying to do is take credit for ending the war in Iraq, and yet at the same time he is beholden to the military industrial complex in America, their special interests, that want more military funding regardless of whether our Generals even want it or not. So he is trying to walk that line.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This President has been an epic fail on everything in which he has intervened.

On immigration; wars in the Middle East; Obamacare; Ebolagate; IRSgate, APgate, and NSAgate, he continues to to undercut working Americans, and makes life worse for most American people.

But you have to understand that such behaviour is completely predictable for a man beholden to the large corporations (including the banks) which have funded the election cycles in which he was (allegedly) elected and re-elected.

Large corporations love illegal immigration, because it cuts the cost of doing business; large corporations love wars, because wars mean profit, for so many companies; and large pharmaceutical corporations love illness, because treatments - rather than cures - are far more profitable.

His faux populism is just an act, and not a terribly convincing act at that; no more, no less.

At the end of the day, this man is a slave to all those who put him in power for one reason, and one reason only; profit.

And he has, and continues, to deliver that for them.

Police Departments Retaliate Against Organized "Cop Watch" Groups Across the US

When communities attempt to police the police, they often get, well... policed.

In several states, organized groups that use police scanners and knowledge of checkpoints to collectively monitor police activities by legally and peacefully filming cops on duty have said they've experienced retaliation, including unjustified detainment and arrests as well as police intimidation.

The groups operate under many decentralized organizations, most notably CopWatch and Cop Block, and have proliferated across the United States in the last decade - and especially in the aftermath of the events that continue to unfold in Ferguson, Missouri, after officer Darren Wilson fatally shot unarmed, black teenager Michael Brown.

Many such groups have begun proactively patrolling their communities with cameras at various times during the week, rather than reactively turning on their cameras when police enter into their neighborhoods or when they happen to be around police activity.

Webmaster's Commentary:

People with kids and skills, get the hell out of this country right now.

I no longer recognise this nation in terms of what I used to believe being American meant, in terms of civil liberties, and the rights which used to be afforded by the Constitution and Bill of Rights.

Pointing laser at police helicopter costs Texas man two years behind bars

Pointing a laser at a helicopter can’t possibly be that much fun.

No Obamacare Bailouts for Insurers Without Congressional Approval, Says GAO

y forcing Americans to buy their products, President Obama's signature Affordable Care Act is widely seen as a winning proposition for health insurance companies. Conscripted customers! What more could a well-connected business want? But the law's complex rules require insurers to cover the costs imposed by older and ailing customers with the payments from young and healthy customers. Potentially, a company could end up with a disproportionate ratio of sick customers drawn by the promise of subsidized coverage—drowning the seemingly winning proposition in red ink. If that happens, says the Government Accountability Office (GAO), the administration can't bail out insurers without permission from Congress.

A Supreme Court for billionaires, not voters

In case there was any remaining confusion with regard to the precise political intentions of the US Supreme Court’s activist majority, things were clarified Monday. The same majority that has made it easier for corporations to buy elections (with the Citizens United v. FEC decision) and for billionaires to become the dominant players in elections across the country (with the McCutcheon v. FEC decision) decided to make it harder for people in Ohio to vote.

Yes, this Court has messed with voting rights before, frequently and in damaging ways. It has barely been a year since the majority struck down key elements of the Voting Rights Act.

But Monday’s decision by the majority was especially blatant—and immediate. One day before early voting was set to begin in Ohio on Tuesday, the Supreme Court delayed the start of the process with a decision that will reduce the early voting period from thirty-five days to twenty-eight days.

American Patriot, Congressman James Traficant, left, died Saturday at age 73. He represented Youngstown Ohio from 1985-2002 - re-elected eight times. He was framed for "corruption" in 2002, expelled from Congress and spent seven years in prison.

In a 1993 speech (below), he explained that Americans had lost their freedom because their personal property and wealth are pledged against the national debt. No doubt, this is the rationale behind the emergence of the US Police State. The international bankers are ensuring they can collect. Terrorism is just a pretext. Just two months ago, Traficant began a grassroots campaign "Project Freedom USA" to put people pressure on Congress to get rid of the IRS and "divorce" the Federal Reserve.

David Cameron and Theresa May - Dangerous Nonsense

A bizarre passage, unnoticed in David Cameron's UN speech, could be the first signal of government censorship plans and may lie behind Home Secretary Theresa May's plans announced this week for a clampdown on government designated "extremists" even when they do not advocate violence.

Cameron laid down the new government line in his speech to the UN. "We shouldn't stand by and just allow any form of non-violent extremism". What on earth does this mean? UKIP? Stop the War? Surely one goal of democracy is to persuade potentially violent extremists to become non-violent extremists? And isn't it the role of a democratic government to stand by while the democratic process unfolds.

"The Federal Reserve Board has cheated the Government of the United States and the people of the United States out of enough money to pay the national debt, Our people's money, to the extend of $1,200,000,000 has within the last few months been shipped abroad to redeem Federal Reserve Notes and to pay other gambling debts of the traitorous Federal Reserve Board and the Federal Reserve Banks ... "

Below is the list of the owners of the 12 Central Banks:
- Rothschild Bank of London
- Rothschild Bank of Berlin
- Lazard Brothers of Paris
- Israel Moses Seif Banks of Italy
- Warburg Bank of Amsterdam
- Warburg Bank of Hamburg

60 Percent of Voters Want Obamacare to Be Repealed

A new poll finds that three-fifths of likely voters support the repeal of Obamacare. A large plurality — 44 percent — wants to see Obamacare repealed and replaced with a conservative alternative. A much smaller group —16 percent — wants to see it repealed but not replaced. Less than one in three respondents — 32 percent — would like to keep Obamacare, whether in its current form or in amended form. So, with a conservative alternative in play, 60 percent of Americans support repeal, while only 32 percent oppose it.

THE WRH BANKER ARTICLES: ALL IN ONE CHUNK

I have received many emails regarding the various articles I have written about the problems with the current economic system of being forced to borrow all currency at interest from a privately-owned central bank. This is, of course, the very system of banking the United States fought a revolution to be free of, only to be sold back into said banker slavery not just once, but three times by corrupted congresses and corrupted presidents.

I have been asked to collect all those articles into a single page to make it easier for people to send to their friends, and this collection is the result.

Joe Biden and the Ghost of Shylock

Napoleon once famously remarked that “in politics, stupidity is not a handicap.” In few cases does this seem more apt than in that of Vice-President Joe Biden, perennial lapdog to the ADL’s Abraham Foxman. Biden has recently added to last year’s faux pas by recently committing the egregious sin of using the word “Shylocks” to describe mortgage lenders. The slip came in a speech to the Legal Services Corporation, which provides lawyers to Americans who could not afford them otherwise. In his remarks, the Vice-President described the experience of his son, Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden, who was deployed for one year in Iraq:

People would come to him and talk about what was happening to them at home in terms of foreclosures, in terms of bad loans that were being — I mean, these Shylocks who took advantage of these women and men while overseas.

Germany Condemns Abu Ghraib-Like Abuse as Cases Increase

Chancellor Angela Merkel’s government condemned possible abuses against refugees at German shelters after photos and videos surfaced reminiscent of maltreatment by U.S. guards at Iraq’s Abu Ghraib prison.

Police are investigating at least eight security guards at two facilities in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, Johannes Daheim, spokesman for the regional prosecutor, said today by phone. German media showed a photo of a guard with his foot on the neck of a bound refugee, and a video of an asylum seeker being forced to sit on a mattress covered in vomit.

HONG KONG PROTESTS PART OF HILLARY'S "CHINA WILL PAY" THREAT

Today's big story tells of a "spontaneous" student uprising and a horrible "crackdown" taking place in Hong Kong (part of China for past 20 years). As loyal readers of The Anti-New York Times are well aware of by now, yet unbeknown to most of the silly young University punks of Hong Kong, these types of protests are the clear handiwork of the CIA. The fact that factory workers have joined the students is further evidence that this is a "color revolution' maneuver.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am sure that Hillary will see this as revenge on China for standing up for Assad, but I think the primary agenda is to wreck BRICS before it fully activates in January!

“Very pleased we have entered into relations again with American Government” -Rothschilds, 1878

In 1878, the Rothschilds were back in business with the US government (after having been chased out of DC by Andrew Jackson in the 1830’s), as detailed by this cable discussing the Rothschild refinancing of American debt:

Messrs. Rothschild & Sons to Mr. Sherman.
[Cable message.]

April 12,1878.
Hon. John Sherman,
Secretary of the Treasury, Washington D. C.:

Very pleased we have entered into relations again with American Government. Shall do our best to make the business successful.

ROTHSCHILDS.

We’ve now established that the Rothschilds “entered into relations” with the US government in 1878.

U.S. Bid for Secret Guantánamo Force-Feeding Hearings Prompts Cover-Up Fears

The Obama administration has asked a federal judge to hold a highly anticipated court hearing on its painful force-feedings of Guantánamo Bay detainees almost entirely in secret, prompting suspicions of a cover-up.

Justice Department attorneys argued to district judge Gladys Kessler that allowing the hearings to be open to the public would jeopardize national security through the disclosure of classified information. Should Kessler agree, the first major legal battle over forced feeding in a federal court would be less transparent than the military commissions at Guantánamo Bay.

US wants Guantanamo force-feeding hearing to stay secret

Attorneys for the United States government say that an upcoming court hearing concerning the force-feeding practices used on a Guantanamo Bay detainee should be held almost entirely behind closed doors.

The motion, filed by US attorneys on Friday in District Court for the District of Columbia, asks that the preliminary injunction hearing for Gitmo detainee Abu Wa’el Dhiab scheduled for early next month be conducted largely in secret over supposed national security concerns.

“As an initial matter, the hearing should be closed in order to prevent any unauthorized disclosure of classified or protected information,” the motion reads in part. “Furthermore, the hearing should be closed because, although portions of the materials in the record in this case are unclassified, conducting an open hearing in this case would impose significant burdens on the parties and the Court.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

There are NO valid "national security concerns" only "deep embarrassment concerns."

Anyone whose doctor has prescribed this process in their convalescence from an illness understands that even in the most competent and compassionate hands, it is still uncomfortable as hell.

To use this as a punishment for a hunger strike (as it has been primarily practiced at Gitmo, in a restraint chair) is both immoral and inhumane.

I would very strongly suggest that this is being done to prevent these hunger strikers from dying to prevent autopsies being leaked, which may well show the extent to which these men had been tortured in order to get them to confess to whatever their torturers wanted to hear.

US Court Says it’s Okay for Police Departments to Refuse to Hire Someone who is Too Smart

Ever wonder why cops yell “quit resisting” as they beat a person who’s not resisting? Or why they shoot people who pose no threat? Maybe the answer is right in front of us.

Man beaten, shocked with Taser by Portland police awarded $562,000 by jury

A jury on Monday awarded more than $562,000 to a man Portland police knocked face-down to the ground and repeatedly pummeled and zapped with a Taser.

In doing so, jurors 9-3 gave Jason Matthew Cox every penny he had sought. Jurors found Portland police committed a battery against Cox, who was 37 at the time of the June 28, 2011, incident.

Federal Judge Rules Detroit Residents Have No “Fundamental Right” to Water

Rhodes dismissed a lawsuit filed by victims of the water shutoffs, which argued that the city’s policy was doing irreparable harm to residents and threatened to create a public health disaster. The residents argued that the city’s policy violated the 14th Amendment’s prohibition against a state “depriving any person of life, liberty, or property without due process of law” and the principle of “equal protection” under the law, since service to major corporations, which failed to pay, had not been discontinued.
