Why Does US Military Have Records On 2013 Egyptian Military Coup?

Egyptian army chief, General Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, led a coup against Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi in 2013. The Egyptian constitution was subsequently suspended. When it happened, President Barack Obama avoided the use of the word “coup” to describe what unfolded. This was to ensure U.S. military aid continued to flow to the country. And, as The Guardian noted, “Ties between the Pentagon and the Egyptian military [were] already close.”

A Sinister War On our right to hold cash.

An operation that began as a seemingly obscure academic discussion three years ago is now becoming a full-blown propaganda campaign by some of the most powerful institutions in the industrialized world. This is what rightly should be termed the War on Cash. Like the War on Terror, the War on Cancer or the War on Drugs, its true agenda is sinister and opaque. If we are foolish enough to swallow the propaganda for complete elimination of cash in favor of pure digital bank money, we can pretty much kiss our remaining autonomy and privacy goodbye. George Orwell’s 1984 will be here on steroids.

US TAXPAYERS SPENT $50 MILLION FOR LUXURY CARS, GUNS, & BOOZE TO MENTOR AFGHAN INTEL OFFICERS

A foreign company hired by the U.S. government to mentor and train Afghan intelligence officers billed Uncle Sam for more than $50 million in luxury cars - including Porsches, an Aston Martin, and a Bentley - and the lucrative salaries of executives and their spouses (who didn’t do any work). The firm also spent $1,500 on alcohol and $42,000 on automatic weapons prohibited under the terms of the contract, according to figures provided by a U.S. Senator from a federal audit that has not been released to the public.

The U.S. Senate is considering a bill that would classify WikiLeaks as a “non-state hostile intelligence service” bundled as part of the 2018 Intelligence Authorization Act. Presumably, that classification would authorize the use of force against WikiLeaks. “It is the sense of Congress that WikiLeaks and the senior leadership of WikiLeaks resemble a non-state hostile intelligence service often abetted by state actors and should be treated as such a service by the United States,” a section of the Act reads.

NETANYAHU TO PUTIN: IRAN MUST LEAVE SYRIA OR "WE WILL ACT"

For Netanyahu and other Israeli officials the chief concern was never the black clad death cult which filmed itself beheading Americans and burning people alive. "Let the Sunni evil prevail," they say.

Israel is threatening to escalate military action in Syria against perceived Iranian interests. This week Netanyahu declared, "we will act when necessary according to our red lines" while hinting he prefers ISIS presence in Syria as opposed to Iran aligned fighters at his border. This comes as ISIS is now crumbling, and at a time when most world leaders of nations driving the external proxy war in Syria have toned down their rhetoric regarding the future fate of the Assad government.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Prime Minister Netanyahu, where are you hearing the following?!? ""We cannot forget for a single minute that Iran threatens every day to annihilate Israel."

Are the voices in your head getting louder, perhaps, sir?!?

Because in semi-official Iranian blogs such as presstv.com, and farsnews.com, which I read and to which I link pretty much daily, there is not a word about destroying Israel, but some deep, and intelligent, criticisms of how Israel treats the Palestinians, and particularly Palestinian children.

Where, please, do indefinite detentions, and the routine torture of children, to get them to accuse others in their communities of crimes they did not commit,"fit" in the only alleged democracy in the Middle East, which, by the way, still has no constitution, 69 years after it was founded?!?

Just curious, sir.

You could immediately make peace in a win/win situation by flying to Tehran, and developing a relationship with President Rouhani. And the reality here, sir, is that unlike what one sees in anti-Iranian Israeli propaganda, Jews in Iran are thriving.

Don't Tell Mother I'm In Iran

But of course, you won't, because part of the power Israeli politicians hold over their people is the power of fear; that the others in the region are ready to tear the hearts out of Israeli children, when it is generally Israeli settlers who are illegally claiming Palestinian land; encroaching more deeply in East Jerusalem, and the West Bank, and briskly evicting Palestinians whose families have lived on certain spots for multiple generations.

And we all know that you most likely won't be fighting directly against Iranians in Syria; you have the American troops to do do that for you.

American troops will be in Syria for decades

An independent Kurdistan is being established in sections of Iraq and Kurdistan, in order to balkanize those countries, and control their oil, something Israel is encouraging.

And we all know that you would love to regime change Tehran, but only at the costs of American blood and American money.

So please, don't give us this codswallop about "Iranian aggression", when Israeli aggression against its neighbors and the Palestinians have made it the absolute pariah of the entire Middle East.

How We Know The So-Called “Civil War” Was Not Over Slavery

Paul Craig Roberts

When I read Professor Thomas DiLorenzo’s article ( http://www.paulcraigroberts.org/2017/08/21/lincoln-myth-ideological-co... ) the question that lept to mind was, “How come the South is said to have fought for slavery when the North wasn’t fighting against slavery?”

Two days before Lincoln’s inauguration as the 16th President, Congress, consisting only of the Northern states, passed overwhelmingly on March 2, 1861, the Corwin Amendment that gave constitutional protection to slavery. Lincoln endorsed the amendment in his inaugural address, saying “I have no objection to its being made express and irrevocable.”

If the South’s real concern was maintaining slavery, the South would not have turned down the constitutional protection of slavery offered them on a silver platter by Congress and the President. Clearly, for the South also the issue was not slavery.

A Transportation Security Administration screener told MacFarlane she would have to undergo a full-body pat-down by a female officer. Late for her flight and with no option other than to be searched in private, MacFarlane agreed.

The pat-down, done over her clothes, explored her breasts, crotch and buttocks.

Moqtada Al-Sadr and Saudi Arabia— The New Allies

After the meeting with Mohamed Bin Salman and other Saudi officials, Al-Sadr’s office stated that there would be a Saudi consulate in Najaf. Although looking at the suggestion superficially the intention seems to be to strengthen the Saudi relations with Iraqi government, there is more to that. It’s not a coincidence that Najaf was chosen. This would give Saudi Arabia the opportunity to crackdown on Shia opposition in the gulf countries while using religious authorities like Al-Sadr on their side. Al-Sadr left to Iraq, and Saudi bulldozers flattened Awamiya, terrorizing people and forcing hundreds to flee.

'A very bad day': Kim Jong-un orders production of more warhead tips as North Korea reveals missile plans

Kim Jong-un, the North Korean dictator, has ordered his scientists to step up production of warheads and solid fuel rocket engines for long-range ballistic missiles.

Requests in recent days from both South Korea and the United States for Pyongyang to halt its provocations and return to the discussion table appear to have fallen on deaf ears after Mr Kim was shown making his demand during a visit to the Chemical Material Institute of the Academy of Defence Sciences.

"He instructed the institute to produce more solid-fuel rocket engines and rocket warhead tips" through the use of carbon compounds, the Korean Central News Agency reported on Wednesday. Pictures show Mr Kim touring the research facility, trailed by uniformed officials assiduously scribbling in notebooks.

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF you, as the commander in chief of your country, were looking at the naval juggernaut represented by the US/Japanese/South Korean troops drilling just off the Korean peninsula, wouldn't you, logically, be doing precisely the same thing?!?

Kim appears to be convinced that war is coming; therefore, he is making plans to be able to defend North Korea as well as he possibly can.

The U.S. Military Is Cozying Up to Sudan, of All Countries: A genocidal regime is America's newest possible ally

The United States seems to be working toward courting an unexpected ally in its operations in Africa. On Aug. 9, 2017, Alexander Laskaris — an American diplomat that works for the U.S. military’s Germany-based Africa Command — visited Sudan for a series of meetings with military and diplomatic officials.

The visit comes amid a gradual move toward warmer relations. In March 2016, the Sudanese government reopened the military attache’s office in its U.S. embassy after a 28-year gap. Around the same time, Washington named a military attache for its own embassy Khartoum. And in April 2017, a delegation of Sudanese military officials met with AFRICOM in Stuttgart.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Why not cozy up to a genocidal regime, when the US has been raining down genocide in Yemen, along with Saudi Arabia, and supporting the government of Bahrain and the Al Khalifa monarchy, which are torturing and jailing the Shia members of their population for wanting a constitutional monarchy?!?

Hey, if it is anything the Unhinged, Surveilled States of Amerika know how to do , it is how to commit genocide!!

But, I digress. Let's look at a map of Sudan:

Map of Sudan with surrounding countries

This would be a very convenient, centralized place in which the US military might want to build a number of installations, with eyes all of of Sudan's neighbors, which include: Egypt; Libya; Chad; Eritrea; Democratic Republic of Congo; Kenya; and Ethiopia.

But there must be something more than just location; as reported at Wikipedia:

"Petroleum is Sudan's major natural resource. The country also has significant deposits of chromium ore, copper, iron ore, mica, silver, gold, tungsten, and zinc."

I would think that this sudden US "warming" toward Sudan has a two-fold purpose; as a strategic location for US military sites in Africa, and the control of Sudan's oil and mineral capabilities.

Amid outrage, Philippine opposition presses Duterte to stop killings

Political opponents of Philippine leader Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday urged him to end a culture of impunity and quell a surge in drug-related killings, amid widespread anger at police over the death of a teenager.

Allegations of a cover-up in last week's death of Kian Loyd delos Santos has caused rare outrage among a public largely supportive of Duterte's campaign, which saw more than 90 people killed last week in three nights of intensified police operations.

The 17-year-old student was killed in a rundown area of Manila and according to a forensic expert who conducted an autopsy, Delos Santos was shot in the back of the head and ears while on the floor, suggesting there was no gunfight, contrary to an official police report. The victim's family reject police allegations he was a drug courier.

Webmaster's Commentary:

That... was the only reasonable thing President Duterte could have said, under the circumstances.

But when you give police the authority to act with extreme violence, you are giving them the power to act illegally, with impunity, and not serve and protect the community.

Israel to High Court: Law seizing Palestinian land is humane response to 'distress' of thousands of settlers

The state on Monday asked the High Court of Justice to reject legal challenges to a controversial law that would allow for the retroactive expropriation of land owned by Palestinians in West Bank settlements. It called the law “a humane, proportional and reasonable response to the genuine distress of Israeli residents.”

In seeking to persuade the court to reject the legal challenges – filed by Palestinian and Israeli human rights organizations – the state argued that the “practical alternative” to the law is the maintenance of the existing situation, which the state said is disruptive to the lives of “hundreds of families” in settlements, including families who built homes based on representations by government authorities that it was permissible.

The state added that the law is constitutional under Israeli law and also meets the requirements of international law.

The New Trump: War President

Life with Deterrence

In the meantime, the White House needs to calm down and learn to live with mutual deterrence. That conclusion is surprisingly being reached even by some traditional hawks.

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
Eliot Cohen, a co-founder of the Project for a New American Century, states flatly, “The United States is simply not ready for a war in Korea, even if one were the lesser of two evils. . . . The American military may have the aircraft to hammer North Korean nuclear sites, but it is also fighting in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Syria, and returning to Europe to bolster deterrence there. . . . This could, in other words, all turn out much worse than even the president’s wary advisers, who know war (though far less ferocious war than this would likely be) may think.”

The Mini-Skirt Deception: How McMaster Got His Afghan ‘Surge’A photo of Soviet era Afghanistan won Trump over

According to reports, Gen. H. R. McMaster convinced President Trump to give up his longstanding opposition to the Afghan war by showing him this photograph, below, of Afghan women in what the media are describing as “miniskirts.” As the Washington Post put it:

“One of the ways McMaster tried to persuade Trump to recommit to the effort was by convincing him that Afghanistan was not a hopeless place. He presented Trump with a black-and-white snapshot from 1972 of Afghan women in miniskirts walking through Kabul, to show him that Western norms had existed there before and could return.”

Haley Demands IAEA Launch New Inspections of Iran Military Sites

Heading to Vienna to meet with officials at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley intends to demand that the agency begin conducting thorough inspections of Iranian military sites, claiming the P5+1 deal gives them authority “to look at any suspicious sites.”

This is likely to be a matter of serious dispute, as before the P5+1 deal was signed, the IAEA had already confirmed all issues surrounding Iran’s military sites were resolved, and the public version of the P5+1 text does not give them any access to random military sites for inspections.

Despite Haley’s claim that the IAEA has such authority, she goes on to accuse Iran of having something to hide, likely because she knows full well Iran isn’t going to comply with these demands, even if the IAEA capitulates and asks for access to the sites.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Ambassador Haley has obviously been given her "marching orders" from Tel Aviv, through President Trump, that she has to find some way to destroy that fragile element of trust between Iran and the rest of the signatories of the P5+1, by forcing Iran to walk away from the deal, as a prelude to a US-generated war against it.

Israel demonizes Iran as its "existential enemy" in the Middle East, and wants to see it regime-changed, ASAP (but only, of course, at the costs of American blood and American money).

Should the US wage war against Iran, however, it will most probably be meeting a formidable foe here, and that will be Russia, whose politicians and military have stated, consistently, that should Iran be attacked, Russia will come to its aid militarily.

Right now, the US military does not have the troop strength; the money; the weaponry; or the manufacturing to insure a positive outcome to a conventional war against Russia.

I hope to heaven that there are some realists in the Pentagon who understand this, and will warn President Trump against such a potential colossal military misadventure.

US, North Korea Clash at UN Forum Over Nuclear ArmsAmbassador: US Ready to Use 'Full Range of Capabilities' Against North Korea

ensions between the US and North Korea are rising again today, at a UN Conference on Disarmament, as both sides played up the threat posed by the other, and the necessity of preparing a response to the other’s “aggression.”

US Disarmament Ambassador Robert Wood was eager to emphasize the “growing threat” of North Korea, vowing that the US would use “the full range of capabilities” at its disposal to deal with North Korea, which he declared a top priority for the US.

North Korea’s own envoy insisted that their efforts to develop a nuclear deterrence was fully justifiable in the face of “apparent and real threats” from the US, noting that the US had made “constant nuclear threats” against North Korea.

Webmaster's Commentary:

There are 8 more days of the Joint US/South Korean/Japanese naval exercises on and around the North Korean peninsula: these drills end on 31 August.

If nothing goes bang/boom, from North Korea (or if there is no false flag created to be blamed against it), I will consider that nothing less than an absolute miracle here.

But I am deeply concerned about there being an attempt to provoke Kim Jung Un to the point where he feels it absolutely necessary to respond, militarily, in order not to lose "face", which is a very important component of Asian politics.

North Korea has demonstrated restraint here, but the question of "for how long?!?" is an open one.

No End in Sight for US War in Afghanistan

Starting with the 2001 invasion, the US war in Afghanistan is now 16 years in: as President Trump pointed out in last night’s speech, the longest war in American history. Even President Trump thought this was excessively long, admitting that “my original instinct was to pull out.”

But the US isn’t pulling out. Instead, President Trump recommitted the US to a new round of escalation with no concrete end conditions, and formally disavowed a “time-based” approach. He added that he doesn’t think the US should publicly announce the dates for ending their “military options.”

The reality behind this rhetoric, though, is that once again any pretense of the Afghan War ending is out the window, and the seemingly endless war again has no end in sight. Trump has laid the ground for reckless new escalations, and in presenting 9/11 and the Iraq withdrawal as justification, is committed to staying.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am profoundly disappointed in President Trump's decision to continue this horrific, wasteful conflict, but apparently, his "president whisperers", Kelly, Mattis, and Mc Masters, have somehow convinced him that this is, in spite of all the blood and money spent, "winnable", 16 years on.

Of course, there is the billion dollar opium poppy trade to be supported by the US military for various US alphabet soup agencies for programs over which Congress has utterly no oversight:

Images: American troops guarding Afghani poppy fields

And there is, of course, that embarrassment of riches from Afghan minerals (if only we could get the Afghanis "pacified enough" to mine them, which will, allegedly pay for the continued US/NATO occupation in this country);

$1 Trillion Trove of Rare Minerals Revealed Under Afghanistan

How in the name of heaven President Trump and Mc Master, Kelly, and Mattis believe they can change the course of this horrific war is absolutely beyond me; I think this coming surge in troop strength had more to do with the fear of not wanting to say we've lost this than a concrete, workable plan to win this war, because history has shown that everything we've done in Afghanistan to date has not worked.

Jury refuses to convict in Bundy ranch standoff

A federal jury in Las Vegas refused Tuesday to convict four defendants who were retried on accusations that they threatened and assaulted federal agents by wielding assault weapons in a 2014 confrontation to stop a cattle roundup near the Nevada ranch of states' rights figure Cliven Bundy.

In a stunning setback to federal prosecutors planning to try the Bundy family patriarch and two adult sons later this year, the jury acquitted Ricky Lovelien and Steven Stewart of all 10 charges, and delivered not-guilty findings on most charges against Scott Drexler and Eric Parker.

More than 30 defendants' supporters in the courtroom broke into applause after Chief U.S. District Judge Gloria Navarro ordered Lovelien and Stewart freed immediately and set Wednesday morning hearings to decide if Parker and Drexler should remain jailed pending a government decision whether to seek a third trial.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The judge did everything possible to throw the trial to the prosecutors, but the jury saw through it all.

F-35 Joint Strike Fighter Squadrons Will Encircle North Korea

As many as 100 more F-35 joint strike fighters could be summoned to the Korean Peninsula to support allies in South Korea and Japan against the nuclear and ballistic missile threat posed by North Korea, according to recent media reports.
F-35A jets forming the US Air Force’s 34th Fighter Squadron are slated to deploy to Iwakuni, Japan, and Osan Air Force Base in Pyeongtaek, South Korea, by the end of the year, UPI reports, citing South Korea’s Yonhap News.

The F-35 force operating proximate to South Korean and Japanese airspace is poised to be strengthened by Seoul’s agreement to buy 40 of the multi-role joint strike fighters. The jets are slated for delivery by 2021, the UPI report added.

Japan has already agreed to purchase 42 F-35s from Lockheed Martin.

Webmaster's Commentary:

North Korea Finishes Preparation for Guam Strike - Embassy in Russia

The charge d’affaires of the North Korean embassy in Russia told Sputnik that Pyongyang has finished preparationg for a strike on the US territory of Guam and is ready to carry it out in case of a "provocation."
The US must stop pressuring North Korea, the North Korean embassy's charge d’affaires Jin Jong Hyop said, emphasizing that whether there is a war on the Korean Peninsula depends on Washington.

"As you know, we have completed the preparation of the Guam strike. Everything will depend on whether the United States acts sensibly or not. If they do not do so, they will be shamed yet again on the Korean Peninsula in front of the whole world," Jin Jong Hyop said.

"They must stop blatant provocations and unilateral pressure," Jin Jong Hyop said. "This will determine whether there will be a war on the Korean peninsula or not."

Webmaster's Commentary:

To the COs in charge of these drills; please be aware that Kim Jung Un interprets these navel maneuvers as practice/prelude for an invasion of North Korea

Any miscommunication, any stupid act, could trigger this guy into launching whatever he has, and thousands in Japan and South Korea will most likely die as a result.

And of course, the presstitutes and whorespondents in US corporate media are not breathing a word of this to the American people; I had to find it at the English language edition of sputniknews.com

HOW GOOGLE IS SECRETLY RECORDING YOU THROUGH YOUR MOBILE, MONITORING MILLIONS OF CONVERSATIONS EVERY DAY AND STORING THE CREEPY AUDIO FILES

DID you know that Google has been recording you without your knowledge?

The technology giant has effectively turned millions of its users' smartphones into listening devices that can capture intimate conversations - even when they aren't in the room.

If you run Android software on your smartphone, Google may have been recording you every day - without you knowing

If you own an Android phone, it's likely that you've used Google's Assistant, which is similar to Apple's Siri.

Google says it only turns on and begins recording when you utter the words "OK Google".

But a Sun investigation has found that the virtual assistant is a little hard of hearing.

It regularly switches on the microphone as you go about your day-to-day activities, none the wiser.

GITMO JUDGE BLOCKS 9/11 DEFENSE ATTORNEYS FROM VIEWING 28 PAGES

A judge presiding over the trial of five Guanta accused of orchestrating the 9/11 attacks has denied a defense motion seeking full access to 28 pages on Saudi government links to the attacks found in the 2002 report of a joint congressional intelligence inquiry.

Though the 28 pages were declassified in July 2016, the public version has 97 redactions amounting to about three cumulative pages of material. Defense attorneys wanted to see what’s still hidden from view.

Attorneys representing the accused 9/11 conspirators argued that evidence of other guilty parties, to include the possible complicity of the government of Saudi Arabia, could be useful to their defense during the guilt or innocence phase of the upcoming trial and, if necessary, during sentencing as well.

Webmaster's Commentary:

One has to wonder what so terrifies Judge Pohl about releasing this information to the attorneys for the defendants in this case.

THE TALIBAN TRIED TO SURRENDER AND THE U.S. REBUFFED THEM. NOW HERE WE ARE.

DID YOU KNOW that shortly after the U.S. invaded Afghanistan, the Taliban tried to surrender?

For centuries in Afghanistan, when a rival force had come to power, the defeated one would put down their weapons and be integrated into the new power structure — obviously with much less power, or none at all. That’s how you do with neighbors you have to continue to live with. This isn’t a football game, where the teams go to different cities when it’s over. That may be hard for us to remember, because the U.S. hasn’t fought a protracted war on its own soil since the Civil War.

So when the Taliban came to surrender, the U.S. turned them down repeatedly, in a series of arrogant blunders spelled out in Anand Gopal’s investigative treatment of the Afghanistan war, “No Good Men Among the Living.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

In the immortal words of the American comedian Ron White, "You can't fix stupid"; and there was an incredible, monumental amount of stupid going on in the Bush administration, leading to far more blood and money lost in Afghanistan than there had to be.

PENTAGON HIRES BOEING, GRUMMAN FOR NUKE MISSILE PROJECT

The Pentagon has hired Boeing and Northrop Grumman to develop a replacement for the US Air Force’s arsenal of ageing Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) and cruise missiles, amid nuclear tensions with North Korea.

"The Minuteman III is 45 years old. It is time to upgrade," Air Force Chief of Staff General David Goldfein said in a statement on Monday, three days after the deal for the new Ground-Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) was inked.

Boeing and Northrop Grumman were awarded $349 million and $328 million respectively to continue the project over the course of the three-year contract.

The Air Force has estimated that the project would cost US taxpayers at least $62 billion. However, the Pentagon's office of Cost Assessment and Program Evaluation (CAPE) says the costs would surpass $85 billion.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Defining Hypocrisy: Democrats Warn Steve Bannon Against Publishing Classified Info On Breitbart

Now this is rich. After nearly 9 months of Democrat operatives leaking every piece of sensitive and/or embarrassing information they could get their hands on to the New York Times and Washington Post, they're now suddenly worried about Steve Bannon doing the same. We guess it's one of those 'do as I say, not as I do" sort of things.

As McClatchy points out, Elijah Cummings, the senior Democrat on the House Oversight Committee, seems to be particularly worried about what Bannon might publish in his renewed role at the helm of Breitbart.

"Steve Bannon has an ongoing obligation to safeguard our nation’s secrets, and he does not gain some kind of extra Constitutional protection just because he is now returning to a position in the media,” said Rep. Elijah Cummings, D-Md., the senior Democrat on the House Oversight Committee.

Former U.S. Attorney On Awan Indictment: "There Is Something Very Strange Going On Here"

We've written frequently over the past couple of months about the litany of unanswered questions surrounding the mysterious case of Debbie Wasserman Schultz's (DWS) IT staffers. Why did DWS seemingly threaten the chief of the U.S. Capitol Police with “consequences” for holding equipment that was confiscated as part of an ongoing legal investigation? Why did DWS keep Awan on her taxpayer funded payroll all the way up until the day he was arrested by the FBI at Dulles airport while trying to flee the country to Pakistan? What, if anything, does the Awan family know about the DNC hacks that may have caused DWS to act in this way?

Webmaster's Commentary:

I think that a lot of political pressure was brought to bear here, in order to keep the indictment as narrow as humanly, legally possible; because what you have here is an absolute viper's nest of collusion, and potentially a massive lawsuit which could bite most of the elites in the DNC.

The narrowness of the indictment was not set accidentally; this was deliberate, and absolutely smacks of coverup and corruption.

Yemeni Airport Catastrophe: Dying Victims Unable to Access Medical Treatment

The closure of Sanaa International Airport in Yemen is an unfortunate element of the multilateral war between Saudi Arabia and Yemen, which has resulted in civilians suffering, according to the director of the Yemeni Democracy Monitoring Center, Abdel Wahab Al Sharfi.

Al Sharfi told Sputnik that the most affected people in this situation are civilians who cannot leave in order to receive medical treatment and basic health necessities.

According to him for over a year the politicians have been solving their political tasks to the detriment of ordinary Yemenis.

Al Sharfi further spoke about how Saudi Arabia is waging a multilateral war against Yemen.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The Saudi military has been doing an incredible job of turning Yemen, already the poorest, and most corrupted failed state in the Middle East, into an actual living hell for the Yemeni people.

As the Architect of this genocide, Prince Salman has to be very pleased with himself.

US military constructing new base in Iraq’s Kurdish region: Report

The US military is reportedly building a new permanent base in Iraq’s semi-autonomous Kurdistan region as part of attempts to perpetuate its occupation of the conflict-ridden Arab country indefinitely, regardless of all opposition from religious figures and people from all walks of life.

Iraq's Kurdish-language Rudaw television network reported on Tuesday that the base is being constructed in Kariz village of Zummar district, located 60 kilometers northwest of Mosul, stressing that 60 percent of the work has already been done.

The report added that 120 US soldiers and 300 long-range artillery systems have also been stationed in the area.

Hassan Khalo Ali, a Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) official, said the base is being built on an area of ??20 acres of land, local people can see helicopters continuously taking off and landing and entering the base is prohibited in every way to ordinary people.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Looks like the US military is headed for permanent occupation in Iraq and Afghanistan; this will assist it on controlling the pipelines from countries (as well as controlling Afghanistan's mineral wealth); insuring that the oil is only sold to specific countries, and not to others; and insuring that the oil from Afghanistan and Iraq is only sold in US dollars.

Turkey to thwart attempts to set up Kurdish state in Syria: Erdogan

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has underlined Turkey’s resolve to prevent any attempt by Syrian Kurdish fighters to establish a Kurdish state in northern Syria.

In a Tuesday speech in Ankara, Erdogan described the Kurdish Peoples' Protection Units (YPG) and the Kurdish Democratic Party (PYD) as terror groups, noting, "We do not and will never allow a so-called state to be established by the PYD, YPG in northern Syria.”

"They want to establish a terror corridor in northern Syria reaching the Mediterranean," he noted.

Erdogan reaffirmed Turkey’s determination to continue to fight against PYD and YPG "wherever we find them.”

The Syrian Kurdish fighters control two "cantons" in Syria's northeast as well as the Afrin region to the west. Turkey says PYD and YPG are the affiliates of Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), which is considered by Turkey, the US and EU as a terror group.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Apparently, Erdogan didn't get the memo:

Breaking: US Occupation of Syria Now Official

The article goes on to state:

"It has long been assessed that the reason that the US had simultaneously backed ISIS and Kurdish forces was for the purpose of using ISIS as a “place holder” to be defeated, either virtually or in actuality, only to then carve out a US occupation zone under the pretext of forming an independent Kurdish state. Previously last year, representatives of the Kurdish autonomous region made an unconstitutional and unilateral announcement of federalization.

This turn was used to create a seemingly legal ambiguity, or ‘gray area’, to confuse public discourse at the media level. However, the anti-terrorist coalition’s foreign ministers as well as international legal experts are under no illusions that the unilateral declaration of federalization is just as much a violation of Syrian sovereignty as would be a breakaway republic made possible only thanks to a war of US occupation.

Under the international legal norms of the Geneva convention as well as subsequent parallel agreements, a foreign occupying country does not have the right to divide, separate, occupy, or carve out a section of a country regardless of what the occupying army terms such as."

So unless and until Erdogan is willing to fight the US military in Syria, it appears that his plans to prevent a Kurdistan from being carved out of Syria looks like a pipe dream, at this point.

And frankly, I don't think he is going to go there.

When The Left Eats Its Own: Watch ANTIFA Thug Punch BLM Member

Much of the ugliness we see on the Left today is embodied in groups like Black Lives Matter and ANTIFA. Both groups think they are oppressed, both are obsessed with identity politics, and both are steeped in Marxist ideologies. You’d think that they would get along just fine but that’s not the case. People who have their identities wrapped up in victimhood are narcissistic by nature. They want the spotlight at all times, and can’t stand to see someone else hog it. So it was probably just a matter of time before these two groups clashed.

At a recent protest a member of BLM confronted an ANTIFA member, and challenged him to take off his mask. The crowd of ANTIFA supporters began chanting “He’s a cop!” at the black man. It wasn’t long before the masked ANTIFA thug got in his face, and threw a punch.

Google Folds, Restores Accounts Of Banned Statistics Professor

Yesterday we reported that in a shocking, and explained move, statistics professor Salil Mehta, adjunct professor at Columbia and Georgetown who teaches probability and data science and whose work has appeared on this website on numerous prior occasions, had been banned by Google on Friday, with his email, blog and other Google-linked accounts wiped clean and no longer accessible.

As we discussed yesterday, it was not clear what Salil did to provoke Google:

On Friday afternoon East Coast Time by surprise, I was completely shut down in all my Google accounts (all of my gmail accounts, blog, all of my university pages that were on google sites, etc.) for no reason and no warning. A number of us were stunned and unsure, but clearly we know at this point it wasn’t an accident.

That changed yesterday, because after our article detailing Salil's plight went viral, and was read 300,000 times, Google responded and as of this morning, has restored all of Salil Metha's accounts.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The censoring algorithms Google with which it "punishes" all those who do not tow its party line, have come back to bite it... in a very sensitive portion of the human anatomy.

Congrats to this guy getting his on line life back; but this never should have happened in the first place.

Treasury Slaps Sanctions On China, Russia Entities And Individuals Over North Korea

In a move that is certain to infuriate China further and result in another deterioration in diplomatic relations between Washington and Beijing, moments ago the United States slapped both Chinese and Russian entities and individuals with new sanctions in the Trump administration's escalating attempts to pressure North Korea to relent and stop its nuclear program and occasional missile launches.

The Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control said it would target 10 entities and six individuals who help already sanctioned people who aid North Korea's missile program or "deal in the North Korean energy trade." The U.S. also aims to sanction people and groups that allow North Korean entities to access the U.S. financial system or helps its exportation of workers, according to the Treasury:

Webmaster's Commentary:

It is deeply disturbing how quickly financial sanctions become preludes to wars against those countries which have been sanctioned.

FBI Suspects Members of Congress Leaked Grand Jury Indictment to the Awans; DOJ Officials Possibly Implicated Too

FBI agents suspect somebody in Congress tipped off the Awans that they would be indicted and now the criminal cases once-seemingly isolated to a group of rogue Pakistani IT specialists working for Congress suddenly has gotten much larger. And much more troubling.

Federal agents said preceding his arrest, Imran Awan acted like a man who was recently tipped off that he would be pinched and moreover, it was no coincidence Awan’s wife was whisked out of the country in March after sidestepping the FBI at Dulles International Airport to flee to Pakistan.

“She had cardboard boxes for luggage,” one FBI agent said. “The school didn’t even know she took her kids out.”

NATO Drills: Bulgarian Soldiers Refused to Shoot Targets with Russian Signs

How fragile the NATO ranks are is illustrated by the following incident that happened at the Noble Jump exercise (NOJP 17) held in June in Romania. Military units from 11 NATO countries: Albania, Bulgaria, Great Britain, Greece, Spain, Latvia, Holland, Norway, Poland, Romania and the USA took part in the drills. During the shooting at the training grounds, the Bulgarian soldiers flatly refused to shoot as “Russian identification marks have been placed on the targets, and they won’t shoot at Russians!”

Webmaster's Commentary:

This does not augur well for NATO readiness at any level, should there be an actual, verifiable "threat" against it.

Breaking: US Occupation of Syria Now Official

As RT reports, US Commander of American forces in Iraq and Syria Lt. General Stephen Townshend stated:

“We’ve informed the Russians where we’re at … (they) tell us they’ve informed the Syrians, and I’d just say that we will defend ourselves if we feel threatened.”

Since, as Reuters reports, clashes between Kurdish and Syrian forces have intensified.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Have Syria's Bashir al Assad and Russia's Putin received this memo?!?

Because the US carving up of Syria, in order to create an independent Kurdistan, is completely illegal, under international law.

The number of flash points, which could ultimately trigger US wars against Russia and/or China right now, are growing exponentially; this is a very bad situation into which the US government and military have gotten us, and one which, I fear, will not end well for the Unhinged, Surveilled States of Amerika.

Visiting U.S. military commanders to issue warning to Pyongyang

Three top U.S. military commanders plan to issue a strong warning message to North Korea in a rare joint press availability here later Tuesday, officials said.

Pacific Command chief Adm. Harry Harris, Strategic Command head Gen. John Hyten and Missile Defense Agency Director Lt. Gen. Samuel Greaves are scheduled to hold a press conference at a local U.S. Forces Korea (USFK) base.

It's quite unusual for the U.S. commanding generals serving abroad to gather in South Korea and release public statements together.

It apparently reflects Washington's alertness against North Korea's rapid development of nuclear bombs and missiles.

In July, the North successfully test-launched two intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs).

The U.S. intelligence community also believes the secretive communist nation has made significant progress in miniaturizing nuclear warheads.

Webmaster's Commentary:

One way or another, with all the US Coalition pieces in place for such a situation to happen, I would suspect that Kim Jung Un will either uncork some missiles during this drill, which ends on 31 August, or that he will be made to appear to have done that, courtesy of a US false flag.

White House braces for thousands of protesters outside Phoenix rally where Trump could PARDON famed 'tent city' sheriff Joe Arpaio

Thousands of protesters could descend on Downtown Phoenix tomorrow as President Donald Trump makes his first visit to Arizona since winning the White House.

A combined 5,600 people have said they plan to attend, judging from RSVPs on two Facebook advertisements for anti-Trump rallies.

One features a logo incorporating the number '45' – Trump is the 45th US. president – in a mockup of the Nazi swastika. The other includes a graphic of Trump with Ku Klux Klansmen, and is advertised under the title 'White Supremacy Will Not Be Pardoned.'

That's a reference to reports that Trump may issue a presidential pardon on Tuesday night to former sheriff Joe Arpaio.

'If protesters come, they come,' a White House official told DailyMail.com on Sunday. 'The president isn't going to change who he is or what he's doing because of loud and obnoxious people who are never going to like him no matter what.'

Webmaster's Commentary:

I just hope his security detail has their eyes and ears wide open; the political ugliness in this country has reached a fevered pitch, and may translate into some truly rancid behaviour here.

TSA FACIAL BIOMETRIC BODY SCANNERS AND GOVERNMENT WATCHLISTS BEING USED IN TRAIN STATIONS

The TSA is winning the war on Americans minds as commuters are being tricked into giving away their rights without a fight.

The above video warns that facial recognition body scanners are coming to a train station near you…

“Soon you might have to pass through one of these to get to your train or subway.”

Last week, the TSA Los Angeles Metropolitan Transportation Authority ‘voluntarily’ asked commuters to walk through facial recognition body scanners before being allowed to board a train

If you watched the video you might have noticed that the mass media (CBS) did not interview a single person who was concerned about their privacy. Instead, they quoted passengers who think body scanners are a good thing.

Nothing suspicious about that, right?

CBS warned that if the LA Metro installs the body scanners next year, commuters won’t be able to opt-out.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am a Christian pacifist activist, which means I am constantly exhorting my government to resolve its geopolitical differences through hard-won, logical negotiations. I am not a violent human being, nor do I ever advocate violence.

That being said, when we get back to the mainland, we will only be driving an older car which cannot be tracked by GPS, and will adopt a Cuban mechanic to keep it running!!!

The massive invasions of privacy by the Federal Government have run amok, and I will gently, peacefully refuse any more horrific intrusions in our private life.

VENEZUELAN ATTORNEY GENERAL TO SEEK ASYLUM IN US TO “EXPOSE THE NARCO-DICTATORSHIP”

The mystery continues regarding the whereabouts of Venezuelan Attorney General, Luisa Ortega Díaz, who fled her country after suffering threats and persecution by the regime of Nicolás Maduro. She is alleged to be applying for asylum in the United States.

Former Colombian president Andres Pastrana said Sunday, August 20, that “most assuredly” Luisa Ortega, who arrived in Bogota on Friday, will “end up in the United States.”

Pastrana said Ortega will be seeking political asylum in the United States, where, according to him, she will reveal important information about criminal activities in the Maduro regime.

“I think it is difficult for the attorney general to stay in Colombia…she is going to end up in the United States because she will be fundamental to exposing the ‘narcodictadura’ of president Maduro,” he said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

No, No, No, Venezuelan Attorney General Diaz; the Unhinged, Surveilled States of America are the last places on this planet you want to go: the governmental, institutional narcocracy here will be thoroughly displeased by your presence, and your life will be very much in peril, particularly if you are talking about drug corruption's influence in politics.

AFGHANISTAN - TRUMP TO ANNOUNCE FOUR MORE ONE-YEAR WARS

This evening Trump will announce a new "path forward" in the occupation of Afghanistan. According to the usual leaks it will be very same path the U.S. has taken for 16 years.

Several thousands soldiers from the U.S. and various NATO countries will (in vane) train the Afghan army. Special Forces and CIA goons will raid this or that family compound on someone's say-so. Bombs will be dropped on whatever is considered a target.

Trump will announce that 1,000 or so troops will be added to the current contingent. About 15,000 foreign troops will be in Afghanistan. About three contractors per each soldier will be additionally deployed.

Trump knows that this "path forward" is nonsense that leads nowhere, that the best option for all foreign troops in Afghanistan is to simply leave:

Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump - 21 Nov 2013
We have wasted an enormous amount of blood and treasure in Afghanistan. Their government has zero appreciation. Let's get out!

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am deeply disappointed in President Trump's decision here.

He knows better; he understands that this new "surge" will be absolutely no different than all the surges before this in the last 16 years.

And in this decision, he has failed the American people in a spectacular fashion, and has guaranteed much more blood and money will be lost.

His military advisors, that unholy trinity of Mc Masters, Mattis, and Kelly, have betrayed him, in the name of "optics"; in their dystopian view, that another US war cannot be viewed as "lost" is more important than doing the right thing for the American people, which would be to withdraw US and NATO troops as quickly as safely possible, then negotiatewith whatever government is left standing in Kabul for the oil pipeline and mineral rights.

That Sec Def Mattis signed off on this just puzzles me intensely; I know that this man is absolutely lionized by every military person who has served under his command, but to tell the President that this is his only, highest and best, option in Afghanistan?!?

Something is just not right with this.

FEDERAL JUDGE ORDERS IRS TO RELEASE NAMES OF SPECIFIC EMPLOYEES THAT TARGETED TEA PARTY GROUPS

Remember Lois Lerner? If not, she was basically the person that Obama put in charge of weaponizing the IRS so that it could be used by the Democratic party as a political weapon of mass destruction to suppress Tea Party groups back in 2012. Ring any bells yet?

Well, as a testament to the efficiency of our legal system, it turns out that the case is still ongoing some 5 years later. Of course, this has to be a simple bureaucracy issue because there is no way that the Obama administration, you know, the only scandal-free White House in modern history, played any role in delaying the completely transparent transmission of information about this shocking threat to our Democracy...just ask CNN...we're sure they'll confirm the same.

KINDER MORGAN PAID $115,000 TO MASS. STATE POLICE TO STOP PROTESTS AGAINST PIPELINE

New documents reveal the Massachusetts State Police were paid over $100,000 by Kinder Morgan Inc to prevent local activists and representatives of indigenous communities from stopping the Connecticut Expansion Pipeline project.

The Narragansett have been fighting to stop destruction of sacred ceremonial stones. Ultimately, the FERC approved the permit for construction despite the land being covered under Article 97 of the Massachusetts Department of Energy and Environmental Affairs’ Land Disposition Policy. After pursuing legal strategies for stopping the project, activists opted to take their fight to the frontlines of the pipeline construction.

The Worst Naval Disaster in US History

At 12:14 a.m. on July 30, 1945, the USS Indianapolis was torpedoed by a Japanese submarine in the Philippine Sea and sank in 12 minutes. Of 1,196 men on board, approximately 300 went down with the ship. The remainder, about 900 men, were left floating in shark-infested waters with no lifeboats and most with no food or water. The ship was never missed, and by the time the survivors were spotted by accident four days later only 316 men were still alive.

Ray Dalio's Gravest Warning Yet: "I Am Tactically Reducing Risk... This Is Broadly Similar To 1937"

Two weeks after Ray Dalio warned in his latest letter to Bridgewater clients that the right trade in the current environment is to buy gold in case "things go badly", the head of the world's biggest hedge fund is out with his gravest warning yet, saying that he is "concerned about growing internal and external conflict leading to impaired government efficiency." In his LinkedIn post, he writes that he "continues to closely watch how conflict is being handled a guide, and I’m not encouraged.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

The world was feverishly preparing for war at this time, and Japan invaded Manchuria in 1937, which many historians actually see as the starting point for World War 11.

With US geopolitical tensions extraordinarily high against China; North Korea, Russia and Iran right now, it makes perfect sense for Dalio to make this comparison.

Pope Francis: Rights of Migrants Trump National Security Concerns

Pope Francis on Monday urged countries to greatly improve their welcome to migrants and stop collective expulsions, saying migrants’ dignity and right to protection trumps national security concerns.

Francis’ politically pointed message was made in view of the Catholic Church’s 2018 world refugee day, celebrated Jan. 14. It comes amid mounting anti-immigrant sentiment in Europe and beyond following waves of migrant arrivals and Islamic extremist attacks.

In the message, Francis demanded governments welcome, protect, promote and integrate migrants, saying Jesus’ message of love is rooted in welcoming the “rejected strangers of every age.”

He demanded a simplified process of granting humanitarian and temporary visas and rejected arbitrary and collective expulsions as “unsuitable.” He said the principle of ensuring each person’s dignity “obliges us to always prioritize personal safety over national security.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Translation; it doesn't matter when Europeans get assassinated, shot, stabbed, and run over by cars, unchecked immigration must be the law of the land in Europe, in the view of Pope Francis.

The same thing can certainly be said for George Soros, who you don't see opening the doors to his lavish private estates to immigrants, yet insists Europe must do this, no matter the societal, and physical damage which has been done to countries which have implemented an open door immigration policy.

This is the classic "NIMBY" (not in MY back yard, thank you very much!) response of the elites to the damage these US-government generated wars of conquest have cost to the people of Africa and the Middle East, resulting in mass migrations away from the countries which have been clobbered by US firepower.

I would like to politely suggest that the Pope truly missing the big picture here, as the young men flooding into Europe are many times radicalised Middle Eastern and African Muslims of military age, with a desire for carnage and revenge, because of what happened in their native countries, i.e., command and control of their resources by foreign armies, from which they received utterly no compensation. The "welcome strangers" who Jesus comforted were generally not out to kill him, and by any means necessary.

Once in Europe, they do not want to integrate, learn the languages of their host countries; learn job skills; or "fit in", in any way; instead, they demand their host countries adapt Sharia law, and believe that brutal rape against young women should be considered perfectly normal.

And I am curious as to how many immigrants has His Holiness allowed to live in Vatican City right now.

I would be willing to guess that the answer is, absolutely none!!

Video: The Horrors of Factory Farming

Aerial views of the first factory farms I visited—pig facilities—didn’t capture grass and rolling hills, but instead exposed rows of windowless metal buildings. Each confined thousands of intelligent, sensitive pigs who spent their lives on concrete floors in crowded pens. The footage also reveals what appear to be red lakes but are in fact giant, open-air cesspools. Waste falls through slats in the pigs’ concrete flooring and is flushed into these massive pits, which sometimes have the surface area of multiple football fields. To lower the levels of these cesspools, many facilities spray their contents into the air where they turn into mist and drift into neighboring communities.

Webmaster's Commentary:

There is another answer than ditching meat all together, and that is demanding that the meat you buy is 100% organic.

Talk to the manager of your local market, or big box store, and tell them, gently, that henceforward, the only meat you are willing to take home from that store has to be 100% organic.

They will, in turn, get the message to the meat resources they use, and we can create change in this way.

The World Remembers the 64th Anniversary of the West-sponsored Coup in Iran

Peaceful, tolerant and socially oriented Islam was seen as a tremendous threat, at least in London, Washington, and Paris. It had to be stopped, even destroyed – resolutely and by all available means. Only the pre-approved Wahhabism, which was collaborative with the West and from the onset at least partially ‘co-produced’ by the British Empire, was singled-out and allowed to ‘bloom and succeed’.

Iran fell first, in 1953.

Actually, it did not fall; it was brutally destroyed.

According to the logic of the Empire, Iran had to be derailed and ruined, in order to prevent so-called ‘domino effect’.

As written by Irfan Ahmad, an Associate Professor of Political Anthropology at Australian Catholic University, Melbourne and author of “Islamism and Democracy in India”:

Webmaster's Commentary:

"Regime change; why it's just as American as apple pie!!" - Official Pentagon Souse.

And please, don't think for a moment that those in the bowels of power in DC are not continually plotting another regime change in Iran, to make the government more western-centric; to insure that only western countries are in control o Iran's oil; and to insure that Iran's oil is only sold for US dollars.

South Korea's Moon says military exercises with U.S. not meant to raise tensions

- South Korean President Moon Jae-in said on Monday joint military exercises starting with U.S. forces on Monday are purely of a defensive nature and do not aim to raise tensions on the Korean peninsula.

South Korean and U.S. forces will conduct military exercises from Monday through to Aug. 31 that will involve computer simulations designed to prepare for a possible attack by nuclear-armed Pyongyang.

Webmaster's Commentary:

How in the name of heaven can South Korean President Moon Jae-in say this with a straight face, when he understands that Kim Jung Un believes that these drills are preparations for an invasion of his country?!?

There's a massive disconnect going on here, and I am amazed by either his complete naivete, or complete cynicism, over Kim Jung Un.

But were I a betting woman, in the next 10 days, I would not bet that Kim and his rocket engineers will simply be holding hands, and singing the Korean equivalent of "Kumbayah" as these drills continue; I think we will see some kind of military response, possibly the launch of a missile or more, as a show of force, by the North.

The Goal of ‘Not Losing’ in Afghanistan

Trump is in a bind. As Taliban forces continue to rack up military and political gains across their country, no serious expert can possibly believe that continued U.S. intervention will deliver “victory.” Sixteen years of experience show that almost every U.S. tactic has not only failed, but backfired.

Far from winning hearts and minds, nighttime Special Forces raids and bombing runs have turned countless villagers against the Afghan government and its foreign backers. Far from bolstering Kabul’s resources, tens of billions of dollars in U.S. aid created an epidemic of corruption that decimated the government’s credibility and put money and weapons in the hands of the Taliban.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am waiting for President Trump's speech to the nation regarding Afghanistan; and I am waiting for him to announce a "surge" in troops (yet again), as the US government and military have done so many times before, in this 16 year war.

I am waiting to be disappointed yet again with this alleged "new strategy" in Afghanistan, which cannot be more than a complete rehash and recombinations of older, failed strategies, wrapped with "new packaging, yet incapable of really fixing the situation.

And I know, as surely as I am sitting and typing this, that this surge is not about training Afghani forces to fight on their own; and this surge is not about giving the Afghani people the "gifts of freedom and democracy".

This surge is all about controlling Afghanistan's pipelines; controlling Afghanistan's vast mineral wealth; and controlling its opium poppy production, which funds various US "alphabet soup" agencies' "off the shelf" operations upon which Congress has utterly zero oversight.

It is just that simple, folks; and nothing President Trump will say tonight will convince me otherwise, unless he is talking complete NATO and US drawdown, just as safely as it can be managed.

And I think that is as likely as pigs discovering their ability to fly.

Trump Officials Trying to Finalize Legal Language to Expand Gitmo’s Use

While President Trump has made clear he intends to not only keep Guantanamo Bay open, but refill it with a new round of detainees, the administration has been struggling with the legal obstacles surrounding a new influx of captives.

The goal is to come up with an executive order that not only reverses President Obama’s 2009 pledge to eventually close the facility, but to provide some sort of basis for putting newly captured people into the facility, after years of trying to release most of those already there.

The initial executive order, which President Trump nearly signed back in late July, would’ve allowed ISIS and al-Qaeda members to be held there, despite warnings from legal officials about the consequences this would have for the broader ISIS war.

Webmaster's Commentary:

First, a little definition of who these "detainees" are; they are, by every international code of conduct, prisoners of war, and as such, deserve basic humanitarian treatment.

And President Trump, a word, please: Gitmo, as it currently exists, is a blot and stain on the American moral character, and should be closed down.

The torture done here; the force-feeding through NG tubing, when prisoners don't want to eat, is an affront to what we are supposed to be as a nation.

And we understand full well why COs at Guantanamo are so eager to keep their prisoners alive; because through an autopsy process, it would be discovered that water boarding, to get these people to falsely confess to crimes they may have never committed, wasn't the worst thing which had happened to them.

It not only happened at Gitmo; it happened at other facilities in places like Morocco and Pakistan, where torture was outsourced. As reported at the independent.co.uk, regarding the case of Binyam Mohamed:

He was arrested in Pakistan in April 2002 travelling on a false passport and handed over to US interrogators who he says turned nasty when he mentioned a website he had seen with instructions for building a nuclear bomb. The website included instructions such as refining uranium by whirling it in a bucket above an individual's head. What followed, he insists, was a catalogue of encounters with foreign intelligence agents in Pakistan and later Morocco while being subjected to tortures that included being chained to a gate for 22 hours and being cut on his genitals 20 or 30 times during interrogation sessions over two years. Last month, it emerged in a High Court judgment that an MI5 officer visited Morocco three times during the time Mr Mohamed was being held there. MI5 insists it was unaware of his rendition to Morocco in 2002.

When the US government tortures, or outsources torture, it broadcasts to the world that it doesn't care about the rule of law; human dignity, or human rights; it observes those values only in their breach, through the use of torture.

There are compelling reasons not to torture.

It is counterproductive in the extreme, and rarely produces actionable intelligence, because those tortured are saying whatever they can think of in order to get the torture to stop.

And lastly, it also gives carte blanche to countries which don't very much like the US to torture American military and civilians.

White House Continues to Talk Up ‘Preventative War’ Against North Korea

While there has been a concerted effort from some members of the Trump Administration to downplay the risk of an imminent nuclear war with North Korea, the possibility of such a conflict is still palpable, with White House officials openly talking about launch a “preventative war” to resolve the situation.

National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster is seen as one of the leading advocates of this idea, which seeks to avoid the question of how much of a threat North Korea will pose in the future by just attacking them outright now, consequences be damned.

But this position also fits neatly into President Trump’s own “fire and fury” narrative, and Trump has repeatedly given the impression in recent weeks that he considers attacking North Korea out of the blue a viable option, albeit one of many that are under consideration.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I have to wonder; how in the name of heaven do Mc Masters and Mattis believe that the US will be able to attack North Korea, yet not have China join the fray on North Korea's side?!?

The Chinese government has made the statement that "regime change" in North Korea will not be allowed to happen; how can that not translate into Chinese military aid, and military muscle, for North Korea if it gets attacked by US and Coalition forces, consisting of Japanese, South Korean, and the US military?!?

How do we prevent hundreds of thousands of casualties in South Korea and Japan?!?

These are the issues which appear to be yet unaddressed by Mc Masters and Mattis, in their concept of an alleged "preventable war" against North Korea; and this is one of the chronic problems in administrations going back to that of Bill Clinton; the desire to resolve real-world problems with magical thinking, coupled with a pathological inability to think a scenario through to its logical conclusion.

More Europeans' Consider Idea to Send Those Posing Threat to States of Origin

"We need to resolve the political problems. We need to stop thinking that by putting more police, more military we will resolve the problem," Kader Abderrahim, a research fellow at the French Institute for International and Strategic Affairs (IRIS) and lecturer at Sciences Po university, told Sputnik.

According to IRIS fellow Abderrahim, in today’s globalized world closing borders does not make any sense.

US Embassy to Suspend Issuing Non-Immigrant Visas in Russia Starting From Aug 23

The US Embassy in Moscow is suspending nonimmigrant visa processing throughout Russia starting Wednesday because of Moscow's requirement to reduce its diplomatic staff to 455 people by September 1, the embassy said Monday.
"Due to the Russian government-imposed cap on U.S. diplomatic personnel in Russia, all nonimmigrant visa operations across Russia will be suspended on August 23," the US mission said in a statement.

It said operations would resume in Moscow on September 1, while visa operations at US consulates in other Russian cities "will remain suspended indefinitely."

All scheduled appointments would be canceled and instructions would be provided to applicants on how to reschedule, the US embassy said.

"Planning for departures and staff reductions has already begun in order to meet the Russian government’s September 1 deadline for the reduction of personnel," the embassy said in response to a query on why it canceled visa interviews scheduled before September 1.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Even though this is technically a rebuff for Russia's stating that US staff must be reduced by 1 September, it is a very worrying sign indeed.

IT staffers may have compromised sensitive data to foreign intelligence

Federal authorities are investigating whether sensitive data was stolen from congressional offices by several Pakistani-American tech staffers and sold to Pakistani or Russian intelligence, knowledgeable sources say.

What started out 16 months ago as a scandal involving the alleged theft of computer equipment from Congress has turned into a national security investigation involving FBI surveillance of the suspects.

Investigators now suspect that sensitive US government data — possibly including classified information — could have been compromised and may have been sold to hostile foreign governments that could use it to blackmail members of Congress or even put their lives at risk.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Notice that the number of potential defendants in this investigation is starting to mushroom!!

REPORTER WHO EXPOSED BBC PEDOPHILIA COVER UP FOUND DEAD

Liz MacKean, the former British investigative reporter who exposed Jimmy Savile and the culture of pedophile protection at the BBC, has been found dead. She was 52.

MacKean worked at the BBC until she quit in 2013 after executives decided to ban her groundbreaking and brave investigation into predatory pedophile Jimmy Savile in order to protect him and other pedophiles.

Dismissed by the establishment as mad and dangerous, MacKean was finally vindicated when the truth about Savile’s pedophilia eventually came out in 2012, a full year after MacKean first tried to bring his notorious crimes to light.

The BBC, who blocked her groundbreaking investigation from airing and spent the next few years attempting to destroy her reputation, are reporting that she died of “complications from a stroke.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

"Stroke", MY ASTROLABE; this was most probably an assassination made to look like a stroke, when the autopsy was done, because of the enormous, stealthy and dark powers of the elite in the UK, and how that power it is used (including assassinations) to protect its own.

R.I.P., Liz; your incredible courage should be an inspiration to others.

BEWARE THE "THE CULTURAL CIVIL WAR" NARRATIVE: YOU'RE BEING PLAYED

Remember the "Russians hacked our election!" hysteria - or have you already forgotten? That entire narrative collapsed under a deluge of factual evidence that the Democratic National Committee (DNC) data release was an insider job, and a compelling lack of evidence of any other Russian hacking.

That failed narrative has now been replaced with a new mass hysteria: "a new cultural Civil War is inevitable." In this narrative, America has succumbed to us-versus-them divisions divided by all-or-nothing ideological bright lines.

Snap out of it, America: you're being played, just as you were played by the absurd "Russia hacked the election" mania.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The other names for this ploy are "divide and conquer", and "misdirection."

HOW THE ELITES ARE DIVORCING FROM REALITY: THE ECONOMIST'S

The Western globalist elites have not digested Trump’s victory or Brexit yet. They are having a hard time dealing with their ideological failures, and when the reality dares not to comply with their day dreaming, they go online and create a parallel world, where their “expert” predictions always turn right and their failures cannot be questioned.

The Economist‘s portal named “what if”, a neo-liberal, wishful thinking echo chamber, is the point in case.

Its latest piece attributes magical powers to the new hero of the elites, Emmanuel Macron, who soundly defeated “evil” Marine Le Pen in May. For The Economist, Macron is nothing short of Jesus as he was correspondingly depicted on the monthly’s cover walking on water:

Webmaster's Commentary:

It has been long demonstrated that when a society's elites are singularly unhappy with reality, they create" realities" of their own, which have utterly nothing to do with facts on the ground.

The Neocons Are Pushing the USA and the Rest of the World Towards a Dangerous Crisis

Trump wins. Problem: he will be completely alone. The Neocons have a total, repeat total, control of the Congress, the media, banking and finance, and the courts. From Clinton to Clinton they have deeply infiltrated the Pentagon, Foggy Bottom, and the three letter agencies. The Fed is their stronghold. How in the world will Trump deal with these rabid “crazies in the basement“?

I went on to suggest that Trump’s only option would be to follow Putin’s example and do the the Neocons what Putin did to the oligarchs. Clearly that did not happen.

Less than a month ago I warned that a ‘color revolution ‘ was taking place in the USA.

A total eclipse of SANITY, engineered by a dangerous, globalist-controlled media

A total eclipse of SANITY: America under the spell of mass hysteria engineered by a dangerous, globalist-controlled media
Saturday, August 19, 2017 by: Mike Adams

The total eclipse of sanity is now under way across America. Mass hysteria has gripped the minds of the gullible, many of whom now hallucinate their “reality” on a moment-by-moment basis.

Before the Charlottesville violence, the entire Left of America was hallucinating Russians behind every corner. Now, they’re hallucinating Neo-Nazis everywhere they look. This isn’t hyperbole, either: The hysterical Left is quite literally hallucinating almost everything they now believe: That all Trump supporters are Hitler-saluting Nazis; that all White people are racists; that America is still a slave-ownership nation; that Civil War statues might come to life and put them all back in chains, and other absurdities.

North Korea warns of 'merciless strike' ahead of US-South Korea drills

North Korea warned Sunday that the upcoming US-South Korea military exercises are "reckless behavior driving the situation into the uncontrollable phase of a nuclear war."

Pyongyang also declared that its army can target the United States anytime, and neither Guam, Hawaii nor the US mainland can "dodge the merciless strike."
The messages in Rodong Sinmun, the official government newspaper, come a day before the US starts the Ulchi Freedom Guardian military exercises with South Korea.

Tensions between the US and North Korea have grown in recent weeks.
Just last week, Pyongyang said it had finalized a plan to fire four missiles toward the US territory of Guam. State media reported that leader Kim Jong Un would assess the US' next move before giving launch orders.
Kim would "watch a little more the foolish and stupid conduct of the Yankees," a North Korean statement said last week

Webmaster's Commentary:

OK; the reality here is that North Korea hates these South Korean/US military drills because what they are practising for is an invasion of North Korea.

But were I a betting person, I would not bet against Kim Jung Un firing off a missile or two (or being made to appear as having done this, courtesy of a US false flag), before the end of these exercises on 31 August.

Refusing to Learn Lessons from Libya

Still Spinning

A full year after the commencement of NATO’s campaign against Gaddafi, former NATO Ambassador Ivo Daalder and NATO Supreme Allied Commander James Stravidis took to the pages of that reliable bellwether of establishment opinion, Foreign Affairs, to declare that “NATO’s operation in Libya has rightly been hailed as a model intervention.”

Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi shortly before he was killed on Oct. 20, 2011, in Sirte, Libya.
According to Daalder and Stravidis, “the alliance responded rapidly to a deteriorating situation that threatened hundreds of thousands of civilians rebelling against an oppressive regime.”

In 2016, a Clinton campaign press release justifying the ill-starred intervention, claimed “Qadhafi and his regime made perfectly clear what their plans were for dealing with those who stood up against his reign, using disgusting language in urging his backers to cleanse the country of these rebels. This was a humanitarian crisis.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Amazing, how people (very much including Secretary Clinton) continue to lie, and to subvert the real narrative as to why the US and NATO went into Libya:

Hillary Emails Reveal True Motive for Libya Intervention

And you have to wonder; when these emails are out in the open, indicating very clearly why the US and NATO went into Libya, why Clinton continues to lie about the real reason we went into Libya?!?

There is one thing at which sociopaths excel; that is lying, and making those lies sound perfectly believable. This is precisely what Clinton did here.

The Libyan military intervention went horrifically wrong; and those in the bowels of power in DC have to face up to that reality, or we will have Libya 2.0 happening somewhere else.

ARE PROFIT AND HEALTHCARE INCOMPATIBLE?

In the good old days of the 1950s and 1960s, U.S. healthcare was more localized, and the central state (federal government) wasn’t the Sugar Daddy for the cartels. Hospitals were community hospitals (what a quaint idea in today’s hyper-cartelized system) managed by physicians and administrators who saw their role as serving the community rather than arranging for $20 million annual salaries and millions of dollars in stock options.

This is why the cartels love Medicare For All proposals: the federal government–protector and funder of the cartels–will give the cartels a blank check not just for the 120 million people currently drawing benefits from Medicare/Medicaid but for all 325 million Americans.

Fast facts on Medicare and Medicaid (Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services)

Medicare Beneficiaries: 57.7 million
Medicaid Beneficiaries: 72.3 million
estimated dual Beneficiaries (drawing benefits from both programs): 10 million

Total Beneficiaries: 120 million

Webmaster's Commentary:

We not only have a military industrial complex in the country; we also have a medical industrial complex, which thrives when patients stay ill, both from mandated medications, and lousy eating habits.

You have to wonder at the "push" toward mandated vaccines, and why the medical industrial complex has been so keen (with purchased, legislative "assistance", no doubt) to force you to have vaccines. There is a medical reason, and its name is nagalese.

This is what this chemical, found in most US vaccines right now, does:

REVEALED: Cancer industry profits 'locked in' by nagalase molecule injected into humans via vaccines... spurs tumor growth... explains aggressive vaccine push

GCMAF, Nagalese, and cancer

Nagalese in vaccines

Molecule in most vaccines spurs cancer growth, is the reason for vaccine push

I hope I have your attention by now; the medical industrial complex is not about wellness, but about profits, and by any means necessary.

He is believed to be from Dagestan, a strongly Muslim region of Russia
He was shot dead by armed police in a busy street in Surgut, central Russia
At least two people fighting for their lives while another five were hospitalised.

A teenage knifeman wearing a fake suicide belt wounded at least eight people in a frenzied attack in a Russia this morning.

The attacker, named locally as 19-year-old Artur Gadzhiev, was shot dead by police in a busy main street in Surgut, central Russia, at about 11.20am local time.

He is believed to be from Dagestan, a strongly Muslim region of Russia in the Caucasus.

Gadzhiev's father Lametulakh was reported to be registered with Russian police as an 'extremist' and 'supporter' of radical Islam.

Webmaster's Commentary:

When the interpretation of a religion teaches that the assassination of innocent people who have done no wrong to you is not only perfectly acceptable, but also your moral responsibility, there is something severely, horrifically wrong with that interpretation of that religion.

And to all the Imams who are touring Europe right now, condemning the violence of radical Islamists who have killed/hurt people, and offering compassion to the families and friends of the killed and wounded, your presence is desperately needed in Surgut.

And now, there are troubling signs that this tool could be used to ferret out writers and websites that run afoul of the progressive orthodoxy.

Bannon The Barbarian Goes "Thermonuclear"

So the Leninist Machiavelli now exits The Swamp to work at his preferred element; out there in the jungle trenches. Expect all hell to break loose.

Laying a trap for the Democrats

White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon listens at right as President Donald Trump speaks during a meeting on cyber security in the Roosevelt Room of the White House in Washington, Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2017.

‘Unleash the Beast’: Will Bannon’s White House Exit Divide Trump’s Base?
Bit torrents will flow explaining that Trump has offered Bannon as a sacrificial lamb to the jackals encircling his tumultuous presidency, even as Bannon has spun he wanted to be fired; after all he did offer his resignation in early August.

The game though is way more nuanced. Macchiavelli's loyalty to The Prince is undoubted — and he's certainly more helpful for Trump outside looking in.

"Colossal Fraud": Lawsuit Accuses Poland Spring Of Selling Groundwater

Ever wonder if that bottled mineral water you just spent several dollars on is really mineral water? According to a bombshell new lawsuit filed this week, at least in the case of one company it isn't.

A group of bottled water drinkers has brought a class action lawsuit against Nestle, the company which owns Poland Spring, alleging that the Maine business has long deceived consumers by mislabeling common groundwater. Furor erupts over killing of teenager as Philippines drugs war escalates

The Philippines police came under pressure on Friday to explain the killing of a high-school student after the 17-year-old became one of at least 80 people shot dead this week in an escalation of President Rodrigo Duterte's ruthless war on drugs.

Television channels aired CCTV footage that showed Kian Loyd Delos Santos being carried by two men to the place where his body was later found, raising doubt about an official report that said he was shot because he fired at police officers first.

Witnesses told the ABS-CBN channel that the teenager did not have a firearm and police officers at the scene handed him a gun, asked him to fire the weapon and run.

(For a graphic on Anti-drugs operations in the Philippines, click tmsnrt.rs/2fO2d3k)

National police chief Ronald dela Rosa said that if the Grade 11 student did not pose a threat, the officers who shot him on Thursday night would be held accountable.

Webmaster's Commentary:

President Duterte, a word, please: there is an old, wise phrase that people who do not understand history...are doomed to repeat it.

This is precisely what you are doing in your painfully counterproductive "war on drugs." People who well have been completely innocent of drug-dealing, or drug-taking are being slaughters, indiscriminately, and there is only so much of that with which the Filipino people will put up.

There are some countries, like Portugal, which have decriminalised small amounts of drugs for personal use, but pushed counseling and support environments, and do you know what has happened, sir?!?

Let me show you in the following series of articles, how this has worked:

Portugal: what happened after they decriminalised drugs, from weed to heroin

In Portugal,
drug use is treated as a medical issue, not a crime

What Happened when Portugal decriminalized all drugs

14 years after Portugal decriminalised all drugs: where's what's happening

There is a way to make this happen successfully; but what you are doing right now is only going to exacerbate the problem; drive the costs of illegal drugs up, and insure the growing financial wealth of the cartels.

I hope someone around you reads this article and emails it to you; there is a way to make this happen successfully, without anyone getting shot who was potentially, completely innocent.

UN Aid Chief Slams Saudis for Blocking Yemen Aid

UN aid chief Stephen O’Brien issued statements Friday slamming the Saudi-led coalition attacking Yemen, along with the Saudi-backed government in south Yemen, saying they are “unilaterally denying and excessively delaying” entry of humanitarian aid into northern Yemen.

This has been a recurring problem throughout the war, as the Saudi coalition’s first act was to impose a naval blockade. Since then, they’ve tried to funnel aid shipments overwhelmingly to Aden, the de facto capital of their allies, while attacking and blockading Hodeidah, the last northern port.

O’Brien insisted that it was “simply wrong” for the coalition to insist that cargo go through Aden instead of Hodeidah, urging the countries to endorse a UN mechanism for allowing shipments into Hodeidah.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is going to happen when pigs fly.

Prince Salman's attitude toward Yemeni non-combatants seems to include all the following elements; kill combatants and non-combatants alike; starve the Yemeni people into death and submission by malnutrition, and then, with water infrastructure destroyed through Saudi bombings, let's have cholera (possibly weaponised) kill the rest!

And I have a question; where did the 66 million Prince Salmon donated to the UN for treating the cholera epidemic actually go?!?

Prince Salmon donates 66 million to the UN to treat cholera in Yemen, June 2017

Did Prince Salmon cynically give them the aid, understanding that by the time they got around to organising and distributing it with boots on the ground in Yemen, it would be too little too late, if they were able to get it into Yemen at all?!?

Well, here's the answer, and what we have heard about the "cholera vaccination program" for Yemen to date: take a look at this headline from the New York Slimes, dated 11 July, 2017:

U.N. Suspending Plan for Cholera Vaccination in Yemen

The article went on to say:

"The United Nations said on Tuesday that it was suspending plans for a cholera vaccination campaign in Yemen — reversing a decision made a month ago — because the disease’s rampant spread and the ravages of war there would make such an effort ineffective.

Jamie McGoldrick, the United Nations aid coordinator in Yemen, said plans for preventive vaccination were being “set aside.” He attributed the change to obstacles in delivering vaccines in the middle of a conflict that has crippled the country’s health system and hampered access to some areas threatened by the contagious disease."

So the bottom line here is, Prince Salmon makes the donation to the UN, understanding that the UN wouldn't be able to deliver cholera relief because of the instability the Saudi forces have created in the country, and he looks good, because it's now the UN's fault that this aid could not be delivered, not his fault because of the atrocities his troops have committed in Yemen.

It's a classic magic trick, and it has a name: that is "misdirection".

But Saudi Prince Salman, a word please; this is absolutely not working. Thinking Americans, and people around the world, know the "game" you are playing in this genocide against the Yemeni people, and want it to stop.

Iran Says Nikki Haley's Statement On Sanctions Is "Devoid Of Any Shred Of Truth"

The US last month approved a set of sanctions against Tehran, aimed at its missile program and support for terrorism, a move that officials and members of Congress have said is separate from the nuclear deal. But on Tuesday, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani warned that the sanctions violate the spirit of the deal.

Rouhani's speech has been taken as a warning that Iran will withdraw unilaterally from the deal, known by the acronym JPCOA, should US sanctions move forward. US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley swiftly fired off a statement condemning Rouhani's words.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Iranian Ambassador Gholamali Khoshroo is completely correct in his assessment; these additional sanctions, which have utterly nothing to do with the P5+1 deal, were engineered by the Congress of the Unhinged, Surveilled States of Amerika, to cause Iran to walk away from the P5 +1 deal, as the prelude to a war against it.

Israel would love to see regime change in Tehran, and alleges that Iran is its "existential threat" in the region, but with the costs in blood and money of that regime change only be paid in American blood and money.

There is, however, one little problem with this scenario; and that is the 14,000 lb gorilla in the living room, draped snoozing over the Bosendorfer Grand: that is Russia, and its formidable military capabilities.

Russian officials and military personnel have publicly gone on record, saying that if Iran is attacked, they will defend it militarily.

And so, I am hoping that those in the bowels of power in DC, at every level, are really evaluating what a war against Iran would look like, with Russia firmly on its side.

And I would like to hope that they realise that at this time in the US military's existence, it doesn't have the troop strength; the weaponry; the money; or the manufacturing to insure a positive outcome against Russia in a conflict in Iran.

North Korea Sees Planned US-South Korea Wargames as ‘Catastrophe’

Various annually scheduled US wargames in and around the Korean Peninsula almost always provoke an increase in tension for their duration. The upcoming Ulchi-Freedom Guardian (UFG) exercise is particularly ill-timed on that front, coming amid dangerously high tensions already.

The exercise, which begins Monday, will last 10 days, and involve 20,500 foreign troops in a simulated defense of South Korea from an invasion by North Korea. The exercise is the largest annual computerized command-and-control operation in the world. North Korea has termed the decision to hold the exercise a “catastrophe.”

17,500 US soldiers will participate, along with troops from Australia, New Zealand, multiple NATO member nations, and Colombia. US officials say the exercise is designed to “increase readiness,” though again this comes after weeks of claiming that US troops were already ready for war with North Korea at a moment’s notice.

Webmaster's Commentary:

President Trump, a word, please: yes, we all know that this exercise was planned way in advance.

That being said, sir; this is precisely the kind of activity against which North Korea's Kim Jung Un has complained so stridently, because what happens in these exercises, are the execution of the kinds of plans and drills necessary for invading his country.

The timing bites; and I am making a prediction that Kim Jung Un will respond with some kind of military display of force, perhaps the launch of another missile or missiles, before the end of these exercises on 31 August.

Trump Continues to Resist Pressure for Afghan EscalationPence, McMaster Lead Call for Escalation

Friday’s Camp David talks on Afghanistan appear to have ended without a final decision by President Trump on troop levels, as he continues to resist pressure from top cabinet officials to sign off on a massive escalation of the 16-year-old conflict with thousands of fresh troops.

Trump had initially delegated the decision to Defense Secretary James Mattis, but Mattis found a cap limiting his maximum deployment too restrictive. Now, Vice President Pence and National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster are also taking up the cause of large-scale escalation, pushing Trump to accept the recommendations of the commanders.

Pence and McMaster were at the Camp David meeting, but Blackwater founder Erik Prince, who has been pushing a “privatize the war” initiative, was blocked, apparently at the behest of McMaster. Trump aide Steve Bannon, another skeptic of military escalation, was sacked outright.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I would politely like to point out that doing the same thing, in precisely the same way, yet expecting a different outcome, is one of the classic definitions of insanity.

A large scale escalation of anything less than hundreds of thousands of US troops will not create a "win" in Afghanistan; and without the reintroduction of the draft (which may well happen on President Trump's watch), we simply do not have the troop strength to accommodate a huge escalation of troops here.

It is highly unfortunate that the only "President Whisperers" we have in the White House now are Kelly, Mattis, and Mc Master, because all will see war as the only possibility for moving forward, and they are completely, totally, wrong on this issue.

And please note Senator Graham's terrifying statement in the last paragraph:

"The ever-hawkish Sen. Lindsey Graham (R – SC) appears also to be pushing the narrative that it’s impossible for the war not to continue to be escalated, arguing that the US would have “another 9/11” if they stopped occupying Afghanistan a mere generation after the last terrorist attack".

Air Force Chief: Israel Has Attacked Syrian Arms Convoys Nearly 100 Times in 5 Years: Brags That Many of Israel's Attacks Go 'Under the Radar'

Providing the most specific details yet on Israel’s ongoing series of military strikes inside war-torn Syria, Air Force Chief Maj. Gen. Amir Eshel revealed today that Israel has carried out nearly 100 distinct military actions over the last five years specifically related to what they believed were Hezbollah-bound arms convoys.

This comes less than a month after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was caught on an open microphone admitting to “dozens” of strikes in Syria, though obviously this is far greater, because many Israel strikes on Syria clearly were not Hezbollah related.

Indeed, recently reported Israeli strikes in Syria have almost always been the result of stray artillery shells landing in empty territory inside the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights, and Israel responding by attacking Syrian military bases in the area.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Israeli Air Force Chief Maj. Gen. Amir Eshel's testosterone-fueled hubris cannot hide the reality that these have been illegal attacks against a sovereign foreign government, which Israel was hoping to get regime-changed through their, and the US military's, efforts; they did not work.

So now, with the distinct possibility that an independent Kurdistan may well be carved out of areas of Syria, one has to wonder; just what is Israel prepared to do militarily now, to attempt to force out the existing, and duly elected, government out in Damascus?!?

Mexico a Paradise for Oligarchs: Poverty, Inequality Soar as Wealth Rises

Mexico is nothing if not a land of bewildering contrasts. Economically speaking, the country is a regional powerhouse. On the one hand, it boasts one of the richest “official” billionaires on the planet; on the other, some of the worst income inequality rates in the Western hemisphere. It places 20th on the list of countries with the most millionaires but it’s also home to the 15th largest population of poor people on the planet.

U.S. forces to stay in Syria for decades, say militia allies

Washington's main Syrian ally in the fight against Islamic State says the U.S. military will remain in northern Syria long after the jihadists are defeated, predicting enduring ties with the Kurdish-dominated region.

The U.S.-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), an alliance of militias dominated by the Kurdish YPG, believes the United States has a "strategic interest" in staying on, SDF spokesman Talal Silo told Reuters.

"They have a strategy policy for decades to come. There will be military, economic and political agreements in the long term between the leadership of the northern areas (of Syria) ... and the U.S. administration," Silo said.

The U.S.-led coalition against Islamic State has deployed forces at several locations in northern Syria, including an airbase near the town of Kobani. It has supported the SDF with air strikes, artillery, and special forces on the ground.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Forgive me, but have Syria's Al Assad and Russia's Putin received the memo on this?!?

Merkel, called 'traitor', defends refugee stance in rowdy east Germany

German Chancellor Angela Merkel was greeted with shouts of "traitor" by a rowdy group of right-wing protesters in east Germany on Thursday as she defended her decision to allow hundreds of thousands of refugees into the country.

Roughly five weeks before an election in which she is expected to win a record-tying fourth term, Merkel veered from her stump speech, acknowledging "difficult times" in 2015 when a flood of asylum seekers, many from the Middle East, entered Germany.

It was her first campaign stop in eastern Germany, parts of which have been fertile ground for anti-immigration politics.

"Many people were worried. They said to themselves: 'What about us? Are we still important or are only the refugees important'?" she told a crowd of several thousand in the central market square in Annaberg-Buchholz, a town in the state of Saxony near the Czech border.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Notice that this question remains unanswered in the rest of her speech.

Immigration ultimately means votes; that is what Merkel's party is counting on, in the long term, regardless of the harm and displacement it is causing German nationals now.

Dems risk culture war fight in Charlottesville response

President Donald Trump’s widely criticized response to white supremacist violence in Virginia has left Democrats in a quandary: how to seize the moral high ground without getting sucked into a politically perilous culture war.

Democrats have denounced Trump for blaming “both sides” for deadly protests in Charlottesville, Virginia, and, more recently, for defending Confederate monuments.

But the party faces a complex task: While addressing race and history in ways that reflect the party’s values, Democrats also need to focus on issues like jobs and the economy that resonate with a wider range of voters, including white independents, ahead of the 2018 midterm election.

Webmaster's Commentary:

When you erase history, you erase a sense of who people are, and where you actually come from; dictatorships love to do that, and there is a quote going around this last week from George Orwell, in his book "1984":

“The past was erased, the erasure was forgotten, the lie became the truth.”

Slavery was a part of the fabric of this country for quite some time; this is reality. Slavery was abolished in 1865 by the 13th Amendment to the Constitution. Does prejudice against minorities still exist in 21st century America?!? The honest answer is, yes; it is both institutional and educational, and translates as a belief that minorities are pathologically incapable of dealing with life without government intervention, and interference.

I am quite certain that our African-American; Asian; Middle Eastern, Hispanic, and other minorities, would beg to differ on that issue.

But in the 20th century, we had a brilliant civil rights movement, led by one of my great heroes, Dr. Martin Luther King; he was a great opponent of the Vietnam war, in which African Americans were disproportionately getting killed and maimed for life. He was ultimately assassinated by elements of the American government for his community-unifying, anti-war views.

Did You Know? US Gov’t Found Guilty In Conspiracy To Assassinate Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

The Democrats would love nothing better than turning this country into a thoroughly history-fluid, independent-information-squelched, society, completely detached from where it has come, and incapable of the critical thinking necessary when it comes to resolving societal challenges in the 21st century.

The DNC has become the Big Brother party of no real answers, coupled with the edict "give us your money, your belief, and your obedience, and we will take care of you."

That "taking care of" bit, under President Obama, meant more failed wars in the Middle East, costing Americans billions, if not trillions of dollars; "Common Core" education, which is simply indoctrination coupled with participation trophies; hideously expensive medical care, with thoroughly lousy outcomes; and extraordinarily bad judgement on war-fighting hardware, which has given the US military the ongoing debacle which is the F-35.

I know who I am; I am a 68 year old Christian pacifist activist, who constantly exhorts her government to resolve its geopolitical differences through hard won, moral negotiations, rather than war. I am a composer, who loves to be in the process of creating music.

Therefore, I will not allow anyone outside of me to define who I am, or attempt to develop a false narrative about who I am, and where I come from; and I humbly ask our readers to stay authentic, and know your own personal history, and not allow anyone to define who you are, outside of yourself.

What the Announced NSA / Cyber Command Split Means

Cyberwar and cyber intelligence are diverging, as are Cyber Command and the NSA. Here’s what that means for the man who leads both entities, the future of signals intelligence collection, and cyberwarfare.

The move to elevate Cyber Command to a full Unified Combatant Command and split it off from the National Security Agency or NSA shows that cyber intelligence collection and information war are rapidly diverging fields. The future leadership of both entities is now in question, but the Pentagon has set out a conditions-based approach to the breakup. That represents a partial victory for the man who directs both Cyber Command and the NSA.

A Domestic Destabilization Is Underway: “The Left Is Fueling And Funding Tensions In Order To Exacerbate Them And Cause A Revolution”

Under the guise of “political correctness,” cities (such as Baltimore, MD) are removing their Confederate monuments one-by-one and under cover of darkness. Here, as reported by CBS News:

“The Robert E. Lee and Thomas J. “Stonewall” Jackson monument at Wyman Park Dell was removed with a crowd watching. The Robert B. Taney monument in Mt. Vernon also came down. Crews are on the site of the confederate Women’s monument at University Parkway to take that one down. This comes just days after the Baltimore City Council passed a resolution Monday calling for the immediate deconstruction of these monuments.”

There it is! Straight out of the movie “The Patriot” with Mel Gibson, as with the character he played, Benjamin Martin: “An elected legislature can trample a man’s rights as easily as a king.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Although I respect this author, and have frequently linked to his articles at shtfplan, I disagree with him on this issue, and here is why.

I think that this destabilisation under way is more a product of the Deep State, in an effort to get Trump to declare martial law, and suspend the Constitution and Bill of rights.

Then, the warmongers among them can proceed with all the wars they have hatched, against North Korea; Iran; Russia; and China, and all peaceful, logical criticism of these wars will be forbidden.

If people persist with their criticism, they may well be jailed, or worse.

From the State of California's "You Can't Make this stuff up" Department: 1 Year in Jail for Using Wrong Transgender Pronoun

A new bill being considered by the California State Senate would punish people who “willfully and repeatedly” refuse “to use a transgender resident’s preferred name or pronouns” in a public health, retirement or housing institution.

The bill, SB 219, was proposed by State Sen. Scott Wiener (D-San Francisco). It includes several other provisions that require a health facility, for example, to honor the gender identity of a patient, meaning that the patient must be admitted to a room that comports with his or her chosen gender; allowed to use whatever bathroom he or she wants to use; and wear whatever clothing or cosmetics he or she decides to wear. It has gone through several amendments.

CBN News notes: “Fines for repeat offenders could be as high as $1,000 and a jail term of up to a year.”

CBN also reports the testimony of the California Family Council’s Greg Burt:

How Can We Learn From The Past If We Erase History?

Amazon has sold out of copies of George Orwell’s authoritarian classic, 1984, and they won’t have more until Feb. 2nd. The book was the number one bestseller on Tuesday and Wednesday. The publishing company, Penguin, is rushing more copies to print.

This surge in sales came after Trump’s senior adviser Kellyanne Conway used the creepy term “alternative facts” to explain away some misleading statements in White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer’s statement to the press. (source)
Alas, my hope was short lived.

All sorts of breathless articles were penned, comparing President Trump to Big Brother. (This one, for example.) But then, something else happened. And it isn’t good.

1984 has become an instruction manual.

"This Is Dangerous": Digital Activists Slam Tech Firms For Banning Neo-Nazi Websites

As social media and internet companies scramble to ban or otherwise cut ties with extremist and far right-wing websites like the neo-nazi Daily Stormer, which were unceremoniously dropped by the likes of GoDaddy, Google and security firm Cloudflare earlier this week after helping to organize last weekend's deadly "Unite the Right" rally in Charlottesville, a prominent nonprofit has come forward to defend them.

The Electronic Frontier Foundation, or EFF, best known for its activism surrounding net neutrality has a simple message: even though you don’t agree with their message, banning people from the internet is a slippery slope. Which is why it called on domain-name companies like Google and GoDaddy to “draw a hard line” and not remove or suspend websites based solely on their content.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Well done, EFF, well done: bravo!!

USA Is Now Twice As Likely To 'Default' Than Germany

While the market turmoil (stocks down a few percentage points from all-time record highs) is being pinned on various factors (from North Korea, Trump, & Cohn to terrible retailer earnings and J-Hole anxiety), we suspect the real cause of market uncertainty is starting to peak through - the looming debt ceiling crisis that has now become too big and too imminent to ignore.

Of course, uncertainty in The White House is starting to make investors realize the chance of successfully navigating the debt ceiling crisis without a government shutdown are dwindling...

With the T-Bill market pricing in serious disruption at the end of September, the risk of a technical default for US Treasury debt is starting to rise and is now spiking relative to Germany.

"Armageddon Risk" Returns: North Korea Predicts "Catastrophe" As Massive U.S. War Games Begin Monday

Traders barely had time to enjoy the lull from the "Armageddon trade" - the rising possibility of a nuclear exchange between the US and North Korea, which peaked over the weekend when various US officials said a nuclear war is not imminent, echoed by a statement by N. Korea's state-run news agency KCNA, before a new set of worries promptly took over, chief among them the ongoing slow motion train wreck in Donald Trump's administration coupled with yesterday's double terrorist attacks in Spain. Alas, "nuclear war" risk is about to come back with a vengeance because on Monday US and South Korea are scheduled to begin joint military exercises, a massive show of force which every time in the past has infuriated North Korea, sometimes triggering a show of force.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The tensions over North Korea may have declined, but they are not over, by a long shot; and this is precisely the kind of orangutanesque, chest-thumping, martial behaviour, on the part of South Korea and the US military, that the North has consistently decried, and asked both countries to stop.

I expect to see something happen militarily from North Korea, before these joint exercises are completed by 31 August.

Protests break out on China-North Korea border over new sanctions

Protests have broken out on the Chinese border with North Korea, as China's seafood importers watched frozen product melt in trucks blocked from crossing after China imposed a new round of economic sanctions.

Dozens of trucks have lined up on a bridge, unable to enter China, according to video shot by a local trader who posted it to Chinese social media. It shows a long line of unmoving truck containers stuffed with crabs and shrimp that were melting in the sunshine and risked becoming spoiled product in the latest sign that Beijing is, for now at least, strictly enforcing a new round of sanctions "There is nothing we can do but accept it as our fate," said Cui Yanzhi, a local trader in the Chinese city of Hunchun, where North Korean product has long underpinned a thriving business in the far northeastern corner of the country, not far from Vladivostok.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Good on China for implementing the sanctions.

That being said, I feel a lot of compassion for the North Korean businesses getting hit; the actions of their government are not their fault.

Will it be enough to create an uprising the Kim Jung Un's government and military will not be able to control?!?

I would seriously doubt that would happen.

Grand jury expands felony indictment of Wasserman Schultz’s former IT aide

A former House IT aide who had access to emails and files of dozens of Democratic lawmakers has been indicted on four counts, including bank fraud and engaging in unlawful monetary transactions.

Imran Awan, 37, an information technology (IT) aide who worked for Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Florida) and dozens of other lawmakers in the House, was indicted on four felony counts Thursday, according to court documents obtained by the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

Wasserman Schultz, the former chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) who was forced to step down over Wikileaks revelations that she worked against Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders’ 2016 campaign in favor of Hillary Clinton, only fired Awan on July 25, following his arrest.

NAZI FEARS AND ‘HATE SPEECH’ HYSTERIA ARE BEING AMPLIFIED TO ATTACK CIVIL LIBERTIES

It doesn’t take courage to denounce Nazism. Moreover, it appears many of the people incessantly proclaiming how anti-Nazi they are, happen to be the same folks who have the most to answer for when it comes to all sorts of transgressions against the world over the past couple of decades. That said, I’ll give my my quick two cents on the Nazi, white supremacist hysteria currently being amplified by the corporate media.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Caring about your country, and being a true patriot, means that you have the courage, and logic, to praise what your country's leadership may be doing correctly, but also challenge it on what you believe it is doing that is wrong, and immoral.

President Trump has taken a strong stand against illegal immigration, and I applaud that. Illegal immigration has cost this country intensely, and it has to stop.

The Fiscal Cost of Unlawful Immigrants and Amnesty to the U.S. Taxpayer

Sorry, but illegal aliens cost the US plenty

I am, however, deeply concerned about the Trump Administration's having "gotten into bed" with the Saudi royal family, and colluding with the Saudi military in war crimes in Yemen.

The US military is enabling the Saudis in their slaughter of non-combatants:

images: Yemeni children killed and maimed for life, courtesy of US-enabled Saudi bombing attacks

And today, we have this chilling report from the UN:

Leaked UN Report: Saudi Coalition responsible for Math Child Deaths in Yemen

With US military assistance, Yemeni ports have been shut down, meaning that no food can get into the country; this has translated into the deaths of thousands of Yemeni children from complications of malnutrition:

Images:

And now, as a result from the dual factors of malnutrition, coupled with the Saudis having bombed all of Yemen's water infrastructure into rubble, we have cholera in Yemen.

Yemeni children suffering from cholera

Cholera hits 500,000 people in Yemen

Oh, and have I mentioned that the Saudis are using white phosphorous weapons in Yemen?!?

Saudi Arabia appears to be using U.S.-supplied white phosphorus in its war in Yemen

And what about the Saudis's use of depleted uranium weapons in Yemen?!?

Video show Saudi troops using depleted uranium weapons in Yemen

Massive uptick in infant Yemeni deformities suggests that the US and/or UK have supplied Saudis with depleted uranium weapons

We no longer have the luxury, as a nation, of being ignorant jingoists, regurgitating whatever propaganda is fed to us by the presstitutes and whorespondents, spewing the official government line on whatever is their "agenda du jour"; we need to become "Seven Day Awareists", intellectually capable of separating the truth of a situation from the fantasy the American Deep State constantly wants to sell us.

I won't kid you; this is hard work, but worth it; this country, and its values, as represented by the Constitution and Bill of Rights, is worth the aggravation of attempting to save by creating a national dialogue about what is done, domestically and internationally, in our names and with our tax dollars.

PARENTS CATCH FBI IN PLOT TO FORCE MENTALLY ILL SON TO BE A RIGHT WING TERRORIST

It’s become a near-weekly occurrence. Somewhere in some state, the FBI will announce that they’ve foiled yet another terrorist plot and saved lives. However, as the data shows, the majority of these cases involve psychologically diminished patsies who’ve been entirely groomed, armed, and entrapped by FBI agents. Simply put, the FBI manufactures terror threats and then takes credit for stopping them.

While many of these cases have garnered attention and been exposed in the alternative media, a recent case out of Oklahoma sets a new low for FBI and exposes how insidious these plots can be.

Through the hundreds of ‘foiled terror plots’ the FBI has ‘busted’ over the years, many of them have been focused on people of Middle Eastern descent or people associated with ISIS or Al Qaeda. This time, in the case of Jerry Drake Varnell, the 23-year-old diagnosed schizophrenic, accused of attempting to bomb a bank, the FBI fomented terror from a right wing dialogue.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Such actions are vile, and should be criminally prosecuted; but such behaviour, attempting to turn, then arrest, a diagnosed paranoid schizophrenic, is perfectly acceptable, to the Fomenting Bowels of Insanity.

WELLS FARGO RESHUFFLES BOARD WITH SCANDAL-RIDDEN INSIDERS

WELLS FARGO, THE CURRENT poster child for corporate crime recidivism, announced that three of its board members would step down at the end of the year, in a nod to the company’s many incidents of customer abuse. But, in an example of what passes for accountability in the modern age, they did not claw back any compensation from those board members. Instead, the departing board members were allowed to take an early retirement. And the replacements are either already on Wells Fargo’s payroll, or come from close corporate partners.

TEACHER ARRESTED FOR ASSAULTING WHITE NATIONALIST: VIOLENCE AGAINST FAR-RIGHT ‘NOT A CRIME’

The Berkeley area teacher who pummeled a white nationalist last year, and just recently was arrested on assault charges for that attack, is claiming that “standing up to fascism is not a crime.”

By Any Means Necessary’s Yvette Felarca, who teaches in the Berkeley Unified School District, said at her arraignment that “Standing up against the rise of Nazism […] in this country is not a crime,” and added “We have the right to defend ourselves.”

As reported by The College Fix, Felarca was caught on video in June of last year “punch[ing] the man in the stomach repeatedly, before throwing him to the ground.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

My dear Ms. Falarca, a word please: it appears that your alleged "standing up to fascism" always translates into the person whose ideology you cannot stand, getting physically beaten.

I would like to invoke the memory of the late Dr. Martin Luther King, one of my greatest heroes of the 20th century, who created massive positive change without every hitting anyone or without firing a single shot.

Had this man not been a Christian, a pacifist, and a great admirer of Gandhi, God only knows in what direction the civil rights movement in this country could have gone.

What you have done, Ms. Falarca, is to encourage mob violence, which may ultimately result in the suspension of the Constitution, and the imposition of martial law; is that your design intent, when you physically beat up people with whom you do not agree?!?

Or did you not realise that your actions may well have these consequences?!?

Are you not constantly advocating against bullying in your classroom?!? Bullying outside the classroom also has no moral justification either; and you are deluding yourself, if you think that there is a difference in your actions, when you punched a man in the stomach, then threw him to the ground.

SURVIVORS WIN CONFIDENTIAL SETTLEMENT IN LAWSUIT AGAINST CIA TORTURE PSYCHOLOGISTS

Two psychologists, James Mitchell and Bruce Jessen, who were contracted by the CIA to develop torture techniques, agreed to a confidential settlement with torture survivors.

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) sued Mitchell and Jessen on behalf of Suleiman Abdullah Salim, Mohamed Ahmed Ben Soud, and the family of Gul Rahman. The lawsuit alleged the CIA contractors committed crimes that included water torture, forcing prisoners into boxes, and chaining prisoners in painful stress positions to walls.

“We brought this case seeking accountability and to help ensure that no one else has to endure torture and abuse, and we feel that we have achieved our goals,” the plaintiffs said in a joint statement posted by the ACLU.

Webmaster's Commentary:

In a just world, these two pieces of work should be cooling their heels in a jail cell, and not in a Club Fed, for the rest of their miserable lives.

But this is not a just world, and those who purvey torture techniques are honored, and protected, by the governments who put their practices in place with impunity.

The only penalties imposed were financial, and most probably, easily paid off.

Mitchell and Jessen should be shunned, henceforward and forever, by the profession of psychology: they are among the true monsters among us, and the fact that the Bush administration embraced what they offered, makes them monsters as well.

I would like to politely point out the following; when a country signs off on torture, or outsources it, that telegraphs to the world that for all the codswallop about valuing human rights, human dignity, and the protection of prisoners of war, that country observes those values in the breach, and not in the observation, of those values.

It also gives countries which do not like the United States carte blanche to torture US civilians and military personnel.

So please, all of those with family and friends in the military, please chew on that last one for a little while, OK?!?

LIVE: PM says reports of missing British child amid Spain terror

A manhunt is under way for the driver of a van that crashed into a crowd in Barcelona killing 13 people.

Five suspected terrorists were then killed in a shoot-out with Spanish police in Cambrils as they carried out a similar vehicle attack, killing one person
The Catalan government says the two attacks, which happened hours apart, are linked.

Authorities investigating both attacks believe a cell of at least eight people may have been involved.

Islamic State says it carried out the attack in Barcelona, according to its Amaq agency.

The UK Government is "urgently looking into reports of a child believed missing" who is a British dual national.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Prayers for those killed, their family, and their friends.

That being said, cui bono?!? Who benefits?!?

In the immortal words of Rahm Emmanuel, "never let a good crisis go to waste".

So I am waiting to see how this will be "spun" as the "justification" for the next US invasion of Heaven only knows where.

WASSERMAN SCHULTZ'S EX-IT AIDE INDICTED ON 4 COUNTS

The federal case against Imran Awan, a former IT aide for Democratic Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, expanded Thursday with an indictment on four counts including conspiracy and making false statements.
He originally was charged with a single bank fraud count; his wife Hina Alvi also was indicted Thursday.

The grand jury decision in U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia comes roughly a month after Awan was arrested at Dulles airport in Virginia trying to board a plane to Pakistan, where his family is from.

Awan and other IT aides for House Democrats have been on investigators’ radar for months over concerns of possible double-billing, alleged equipment theft, and access to sensitive computer systems. Most lawmakers fired Awan in February, but Schultz had kept him on until his arrest in July.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Wasserman Shultz and Clinton will walk away, with no criminal indictments against them; Awan and his family will be the "sacrificial lambs" to be slaughtered here (hopefully, only metaphorically), to insure that happens.

Working for the Clintonistas, although lucrative, always has a price attached.

URBAN WARFARE: NATO ISSUES RFP FOR TRAINING TO FIGHT IN BIG CITIES WITH "DENSE, INTERCONNECTED POPULATIONS"

Throughout the 2016 campaigning cycle, then candidate Trump frequently criticized NATO as “obsolete” and repeatedly knocked allies for not paying their “fair share.”

Then, in a shocking reversal, Trump hosted a joint press conference with NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg, just a few months after moving into the White House, in which he declared: "I said it was obsolete. It's no longer obsolete."

"The Secretary General and I had a productive discussion about what more NATO could do in the fight against terrorism. I complained about that a long time ago and they made a change. And now they do fight terrorism. I said it was obsolete. It's no longer obsolete."

Oliver Stone: "1984 Is Here"

"Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book has been rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered...History has stopped. Nothing exists except the endless present in which the party is always right" — George Orwell. We've been keeping an eye on the insanity oozing out of the States over the last week. Not surprisingly, Oliver Stone has produced one of the most succinct, on-point commentaries about Charlottesville and the resulting madness. Sorry, but we just don't buy this idea that fighting (apparently to the death) over Confederate statues is a top priority for most Americans right now. No doubt it serves as a convenient and extremely lame ideological battle for weirdos on the far, far right and far, far left to salivate over.

“Start Throwing Rocks”: Washington Post Op-Ed Calls For More Violence In The Streets

So how did we get to this place? How did we reach a point where America resembles Wiemar Germany, with white nationalists and socialist thugs battling it out on the streets and killing people?

If I were to pick one culprit for this mess, it would be the mainstream media. They’re the ones who have, for the most part, stood behind leftist ideologues for decades, and allowed them to bury public discourse under a wave of identity politics. They are at the very least, partly to blame. They’ve helped stoke divisions in this country that were once faint, or in the process of healing.

And if you don’t think the mainstream media is responsible for nudging our country towards war in the streets, then you should read this op-ed that was recently published by the Washington Post. It was written by N.D.B. Collins, an associate professor at Johns Hopkins University. In it, he appears to shamelessly call for the left to spawn more riots and violence in this country.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This definitely smacks of Deep State manipulation, in order to see more unrest, which ultimately will result in President Trump being pressured to suspend the Constitution and Bill of Rights, and establish martial law, nationally.

More violence will only beget more violence; I cannot believe, for one moment, that Dr. N.D.B. Collins really believes this is the right path to follow.

But agents of the Deep State can come from surprising backgrounds, and have some interesting agendas.

It appears that whoever is sponsoring this article at the Washington Compost, is hoping such violence will have President Trump invoke martial law, so that
the warmongers in President Trump's cabinet, can get their wars on, with even peaceful protest forbidden.

It ultimately comes down to power and control over the key mechanisms of finance, taxation, legislation and the media. Are McConnell and Ryan conspiring to implement their establishment vision? Yes.

Socrates discusses death of democracy, hubris of empire, devolution to civil war. ‘We the People’ of the US’ choice: follow that path OR demand .01% arrests for OBVIOUS crimes of war, looting, lying

*hyperlinks/videos live at source*

“The strong do what power allows. The weak accept what they must.” – Athenian 415 BC envoy to the small government of Melos, with the offer to either join Athens’ empire with paying them tribute, or have all men executed, and everyone else sold into slavery. Melos politely declined Athens’ offer. Athens attacked, did exactly what they threatened, and resettled the emptied island with 500 Athenian colonists. – Melian Dialogue of Socrates’ contemporary historian, Thucydides.

language warning: Socrates and I speak in the same direct language that caused his execution for “corrupting the young.”

With potential threat of US civil war, perhaps staged by .01% oligarchs fearing their discovery and arrests, let's consider Socrates' analysis to a similar challenge. He explains from my 2016 "interview" with him:

The whole purpose of the First Amendment is to encourage open, wide, robust debate about the policies of the government and the people who run it. It would be antithetical to that purpose for the government itself to decide what speech is acceptable and what is not in public discourse.

Americans are Rapidly Descending Into Madness

What’s worse, this environment is providing a backdrop for the most destructive people of my lifetime — neoconservatives and neo liberals — to preen around on corporate media as “the voices of reason.” This is one of the most perverse and dangerous side-effects of the current political climate.

If war comes, don’t blame the ‘Military-Industrial Complex’ — things are even worse than you think

The Soviet nomenklatura gave up without a fight. It’s unlikely its American counterpart will. Whether Trump in the end decides to fight or to seek accommodation is still under debate. Some suggest that by signing the recent bill imposing sanctions on Russia, Iran and North Korea, he has already surrendered. But either way, war or not, things are going to get very rocky.

US War Games Likely to Trigger Another North Korea Missile Test - Seoul

Tensions on the Korean Peninsula appeared to ease up following intense saber-rattling by the US and North Korean sides last week, but once Pyongyang’s leaders observe the US ramping up war games again, another ballistic missile test may be imminent, Seoul warns.

Ulchi Freedom Guardian drills are slated to commence on Monday, Korean media reported Wednesday. "There is a great possibility that North Korea will carry out strategic or tactical provocations to protest the latest UN sanctions and the UFG exercises," the South Korean Defense Ministry said in a statement to the nation’s lawmakers.

Military exercises in which US forces essentially rehearse and practice attacking the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) "are not funny to [North] Korea," Radio Sputnik Loud & Clear host Brian Becker said Tuesday.

Webmaster's Commentary:

OK, a logical question here: how in heaven's name can Kim Jung Un NOT see US war games, right off the cost of North Korea, practicing how to invade his country, as a "dangerously provocative act"?!?

And frankly, I do not have a good answer for this.

Who was responsible for the violence in Charlottesville? Here's what witnesses say

The clashes that broke out over the weekend at a white nationalist rally in Charlottesville, Va., have become a new touchstone in the nation’s long-running debate over racism, free speech and violence.

One woman was killed and many more injured when a car, allegedly driven by a rally participant, sped into a crowd of anti-racism protesters. Two state troopers monitoring the action died in a helicopter crash later in the day, though no foul play was suspected.

The event quickly took on enormous political importance as Democrats and Republicans alike denounced the violence and the white supremacist views espoused at the far-right rally. President Trump has also denounced the racist groups, but he suggests that anti-racism counter-demonstrators share some of the blame. On Tuesday, he said “both sides” were responsible for the bloodshed.

Webmaster's Commentary:

In looking/listening at the reports of this incident, President Trump was absolutely correct in his assessment; both the Neo-Nazis and Antifa bore responsibility for the deaths and injuries here.

ARE THESE GMO MEATLESS BURGERS SAFE TO EAT? THE FDA ISN’T SURE

The FDA informed the manufacturer of Impossible Burger – a meat-like burger made using only plants – that it had not yet proven that the product’s key genetically modified (GM) ingredient is safe for consumption. The company, Impossible Foods, decided it knew better and launched the product anyway. [1}

The GMO faux-meat burgers are available at 43 restaurants nationwide, including several burger chains.

Impossible Foods maintains that its SLH/heme is identical to the SLH already in the food supply, but Impossible Foods had no safety testing data to support that claim, said Michael Hansen, a senior scientist at Consumers Union.

Hansen explained:

“You are taking something that has never been in the food supply before and you come to the FDA, say it is GRAS, and you have no safety data, particularly from feeding studies. Their argument has literally come down to saying this is exactly identical to the heme we’ve always been eating, but it’s not true.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Great to know that we have an FDA which doesn't mandate food product safety before a product is introduced to an unsuspecting public!!

Why is there no halt in production of this product, until safety testing is truly finished?!?

A PATENT EXISTS TO PROVIDE HOME SURVEILLANCE USING AMI SMART METERS

AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure) Smart Meters (AMI SMs) are being forced on to everyone’s home, apartment, condo and businesses in the United States with total disregard for numerous legal aspects, with one specifically-egregious issue experiencing total abandonment or disregard for the U.S. Constitution, plus individuals’ rights under their respective home states’ constitutions.

So, what am I talking about? Privacy and the right to be secure in your home! The Search and Seizure aspects found and shielded in the Fourth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution are not being respected nor enforced by state public utility commissions and utility companies, most of who are harassing customers!

AMI SMs are nothing but “surveillance computers”!

Let me say that again. AMI SMs are nothing short of “surveillance computers”. They are built and intended to

As Leak Probes Abound, Tillerson Promotes Diplomat Who Passed Classified Info To AIPAC: The promotion of David Satterfield comes as the Trump administration cracks down on leakers elsewhere in the government.

As the Trump administration widens its crackdown on unauthorized leaks to the press, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has promoted a diplomat who provided classified information to an influential pro-Israel lobbying organization that resulted in espionage charges.

David Satterfield, a long time Middle East hand with extensive experience in the region, has been named acting assistant secretary of state for Near Eastern Affairs, a State Department official told BuzzFeed News.

In 2005, federal prosecutors said Satterfield provided classified national security secrets to a top lobbyist for the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, a powerful special interest group known simply as AIPAC. The accusation was included in an indictment that charged two former AIPAC employees, Steven Rosen and Keith Weissman, and a former Pentagon official, Lawrence Franklin, under the Espionage Act with illegally trafficking in classified information.

"Hey, as long as classified information goes to Israel, it's perfectly OK!!" - Official State Department Souse.

What if the DNC Russian “hack” was really a leak after all? A new report raises questions media and Democrats would rather ignore

Last week the respected left-liberal magazine The Nation published an explosive article that details in great depth the findings of a new report — authored in large part by former U.S. intelligence officers — which claims to present forensic evidence that the Democratic National Committee was not hacked by the Russians in July 2016. Instead, the report alleges, the DNC suffered an insider leak, conducted in the Eastern time zone of the United States by someone with physical access to a DNC computer.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Hey, when the DNC embraces a false narrative, it embraces it all the way!!

FBI Admits Federal Informants Linked to Deadly Charlottesville Riots; Unlikely To Face Charges

FBI insiders said it is unlikely leaders of the radical groups that clashed in demonstrations turned deadly in Charlottesville, VA will face prosecution.

Why?

FBI said they have already identified several federal informants who participated in the mob-like riots over the weekend in Virginia. The FBI is also now working those sources to piece together the events from Charlottesville, sources said.

But FBI agents have deemed the newly-minted investigation dicey, having to navigate separate agreements with embedded intelligence assets while trying to pinpoint responsibility for the violence.

Late Saturday, the Justice Department announced the federal probe. The investigation, spearheaded by the Richmond, VA FBI field office, was launched after an Ohio man drove his car through a crowd of demonstrators killing one woman and injuring dozens.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This sickens me.

IF, in fact, paid FBI agents were actually here, what was their function, other than intel?!?

Was it to worsen the mood of the mob to the point where violence would be the inevitable result?!?

At this moment, if there was an FBI order to foment rage and rioting on the part of these informants, whoever gave that order person needs to be sacked, immediately, and publicly, by President Trump.

Because in allowing these riots to move forward, it caused deaths, massive injuries, and deeply scarred the soul of this nation in a way that it might not be able to ultimately survive or overcome.
