THE WHITE HELMETS TRIED TO RECRUIT ROGER WATERS WITH SAUDI MONEY

During a Barcelona concert on April 13, Roger Waters denounced the Syrian White Helmets as “a fake organization that exists only to create propaganda for jihadists and terrorists.” Warning that the groups’ unverified claims about chemical weapons attacks across insurgent-held territory were aimed at triggering Western military intervention, Waters cautioned his audience, “If we were to listen to the propaganda of the White Helmets and others, we would encourage our governments to start dropping bombs on people in Syria. This would be a mistake of monumental proportions for us as human beings.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

I have four words to say about this man's not swallowing the White Helmet's Koolaid: GOD BLESS YOU, SIR!!

UN SECURITY TEAM BLOCKS CHEMICAL INSPECTORS FROM ENTERING DOUMA

The UN Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS) continues to prevent chemical inspectors from entering Douma for their investigation, citing safety concerns. They have offered no timetable for when the Organization for Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) inspectors will be allowed in.

The OPCW inspectors did not visit Monday, and there were a lot of allegations exchanged as to why. Though British officials blamed Russia for the delay, it is now clear that the UNDSS is driving the scheduling.

The UNDSS team visited two sites in Douma, but fled both times. In the first case, they claimed there was a large crowd there, and they were concerned about safety. At the second site there was a report of an explosion nearby, and claimed to have come under small arms fire by some unknown faction. No UN workers were injured, though one Syrian was said to have sustained light injuries working in a security capacity.

Webmaster's Commentary:

One has to wonder; just what is it that the UN does not want the Organization for Prohibition of Chemical Weapons finding?!?

This continued obstruction has the US government's fingerprints all over it.

Farenthold resigned ahead of ethics ruling against him

Former GOP Rep. Blake Farenthold's (R-Texas) sudden resignation announcement earlier this month was prompted by an impending House Ethics ruling against him, the office of Rep. Jackie Speier (D-Calif.) confirmed to The Hill on Tuesday.

The committee — which was investigating allegations he sexually harassed his employees and lied during his testimony — was forced to close its probe after Farenthold's abrupt departure. It remains unclear what the repercussions for the lawmaker would have been had they ruled against him.

HuffPost first reported the motivation behind Farenthold's April 6 resignation, which came months after he had already announced that he wouldn't run for reelection in 2018.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Why is it that the people US citizens elect to represent them, are themselves, most frequently, rapacious sociopaths and predators?!?

Mike has a saying, that the people elected to high office are generally the least fit to hold that office, because of these proclivities; and unfortunately, particularly in this case with Farenthold, that is absolutely the case.

IRAQ CARRIES OUT AIR STRIKES ON DAESH SITES IN SYRIA

Iraq today carried out air strikes on Daesh positions in Syria a week after Prime Minister Haider Al-Abadi said his country would defend itself from militant threats across the border.

Iraqi F-16 warplanes crossed into Syria to carry out the strikes after coordination with Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad’s government, an Iraqi military spokesman said.

“Carrying out air strikes on Daesh gangs in Syrian territories is because of the dangers posed by said gangs to Iraqi territories and is proof of the improved capabilities of our armed forces,” the Iraqi military said in a statement.

Earlier this month, Al-Abadi had said Iraq would “take all necessary measures if they threaten the security of Iraq”, referring to the jihadist militants who just three years ago overran a third of Iraq.

‘Astronomical’ Cost of War: Average US Taxpayer Sent $3,456 to Pentagon Last Year and Just $39 to the EPA

As Americans rushed to pay their taxes on Tuesday before the official deadline, peace groups reminded the public of the uncomfortable fact that an “astronomical amount” of the money sent to the IRS each year goes not to funding education or a single-payer healthcare system the U.S. supposedly can’t afford, but straight into the bloated coffers of the Pentagon.

Thousands Of US Troops Amass On Syrian Border For Military ‘Drill’

Thousands of U.S. Marines arrived in Jordan at around the same time the United States, the United Kingdom, and France were organizing a direct military strike on Jordan’s neighbor, Syria. Shortly after the US-led bombing of Syria over alleged chemical weapons use, the Marine took part in military drills.

According to Antimedia, nearly 3,600 U.S. troops, including roughly 1,800 Marines with the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit, arrived in Jordan for the start of an almost two-week training exercise known as Eager Lion.

Thousands of Marines and U.S. troops kicked off a major military training exercise that is reportedly set to include civilian evacuation operations, as well as chemical and biological drills. The drills followed the U.S.-led Anglo-alliance’s assault on neighboring Syria, which was allegedly in retaliation for a chemical attack in the Syrian city of Douma.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The situation between the US and Syria hasn't ended, by a long shot; I think that the US is waiting forwhat it believes is precisely the right time for another major strike against the country.

The questionsare, how long will Russia put up with this nonsense, and how will they respond?!?

Facebook Will FORCE All Users To Accept Being TRACKED Around The Internet

Facebook has finally responded to requests to stop tracking users for advertising. But they aren’t going to. Instead, Facebook is going to force all of those who continue to use their social media service to accept being tracked around the internet.

“People can choose to not be on Facebook if they want,” said Facebook Deputy Chief Privacy Officer Rob Sherman. Or, they will be forced to opt into being tracked everywhere they go, and that’s just the way it is. This decision was not made in the interest of the users of Facebook, but explicitly to keep the company’s business model “intact,” reported the Independent.

Some had suggested that the site will have to make major changes once a new European Union privacy law comes into effect. Many parts of those new regulations seem in direct conflict with Facebook’s business, including new rules about what information can be harvested about users. But that’s exactly why Facebook will explicitly demand that you opt into being tracked.

Webmaster's Commentary:

That's it; I will be quitting Facebook shortly.

Abuses and Failures of U.S. Correctional Institutions: South Carolina’s Lethal Prison Riot that Left Seven Dead

Along with the seven prisoners who were killed, whose names and photos were published by the South Carolina Department of Corrections (SCDC), another 17 prisoners were wounded and are reportedly being treated. According to the SCDC’s official account of the incident posted on Facebook and Twitter, the fighting between prisoners lasted almost eight hours. At a press conference, SCDC Director Bryan Stirling said the lethal riot centered around rival gangs and contraband cell phones

“What we believe from initial investigation is that this was all about territory, about contraband, about cell phones,” Stirling said. “These folks are fighting about real money and real territory while they’re incarcerated.”

He also called on the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to block signals from the cell phone tower located near the prison, saying that was something the Department of Corrections would be discussing with the FCC in the weeks to come.

Webmaster's Commentary:

American correctional institutions are engineered to fail, and to guarantee that the rates of recidivism remains high, to justify fat budgets for these departments.

Report Documents U.S. Recidivism Rates for Federal Prisoners

The article goes on to state:

Drawing on data on more than 25,400 former inmates who were either released outright from federal prisons or placed on probation in 2005, the 60-page report found almost half (49.3%) had, within the next eight years, been arrested again, whether for a new offense or for violating conditions of their parole or release. Among the offenders released or paroled in 2005, during the same period nearly a third (31.7%) had been re-convicted, with 24.7% of them also re-incarcerated."

Do these numbers look like the numbers of a corrections system which actually works?!?

The short answer is, Hell, no!!

By contrast, one only needs to look at the Norwegian prison system to see what is possible:

The most successful prison system in the worl is also the most radically humane

What we see here, is a far lower recivism rate (20%), and a real attempt at prisoner rehabilitation, rather than punishment. And it actually costs a lot less than US taxpayers shell out for a failed system.

Is Trump’s Broader War against Syria on Hold? A Member State of NATO is “Sleeping with the Enemy”: America is at War with both Syria and Turkey

However, there is an important element which has largely been neglected in recent independent media reports regarding Syria, which suggests that the US could take the decision NOT to engage in the conduct of a major military campaign at this particular juncture.

Why?

The structure of US military alliances is in crisis.

Military Strategy 101 tells us: you do not wage a major war when one of your key allies is “sleeping with the enemy”.

An understanding of the military structure of alliances including cross-cutting coalitions is absolutely crucial. So-called “enduring alliances” in support of America’s “Long War” can no longer be relied upon.

NATO is in crisis: The U.S. and several NATO member states are not only at war with Syria, they are also at war with Turkey which is fighting the US sponsored Kurdish rebel forces in Northern Syria.

Webmaster's Commentary:

NATO needs to figure out what it will do with its rogue member, Turkey; at the same time, Russia and China are drawing more and more countries into their orbits of influence, in terms of defense, economy, and geopolitics.

This, taken together, does not augur well for the waning influence of the US in these arenas; more and more, the US is presenting all the symptoms of an empire in deep decline.

Palestinian ex-prisoner: You sit there wishing you would die

Due to the presence of some 800 Israeli settlers, Hebron is exceptionally militarised, with the Israeli army imposing severe restrictions on everyday life and the movement of 40,000 Palestinians living there.

Many Palestinians have resorted to building metal enclosures around their homes to avoid being targeted by settlers who regularly hurl abusive comments, throw stones and attack them.

For Abu Sbeih, a particularly testing experience of the occupation came in December 2015 when she was arrested by the Israeli army for plotting, along with three of her nephews, to shoot and kill an Israeli settler in Hebron. According to Abu Sbeih, the settler, Anat Cohen, had for years harassed Palestinians in Hebron with regular and targeted abuse.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This has become the "new normal", in the treatment of Palestinians by the IDF; false charges; abuse; starvation; and indefinite detentions, which can be renewed at the whim of Israeli officials and no charges are ever filed.

This is why the BDS movement is critical right now; finance is a language the Israelis understand, since they cannot, collectively comprehend the obscene levels of inhumanity with which the Palestinian people are treated.

Offer to Withdraw America's Troops from South Korea to Seal a Nuclear Deal with the North

An important challenge is the difference between the two leaders’ official expectations. The Trump administration presumably believes it has a commitment by Pyongyang to denuclearize. However, Kim, to the extent that he genuinely contemplates abandoning weapons so expensively acquired and so tightly connected to his own legitimacy, is likely willing to do so only over time, and in return for concessions that enhance his regime’s survivability. When I visited the North last year, officials well remembered the fate of Libya’s Muammar el-Qaddafi, who negotiated away his missile and nuclear programs, only to be later ousted by the United States and its European allies.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This proposal is both sound and reasonable; which is why the current Administration will most probably reject it out of hand!!

And unfortunately, last week's Western bombing of Syria may well cement, in Kim Jung Un's thinking, that he can never let go of his nuclear capacities, because the potential future fate of Syria, which has no nuclear weapons, at the hands of the West.

Senators Offer Up Unprecedented War Powers to President

A bipartisan bill introduced in the Senate Monday would give the president sweeping authority to wage endless war anywhere in the world with limited congressional intervention.

Webmaster's Commentary:

DEAR LORD, NO!!!!

Corker and Kaine must be collectively out of their minds, to bring up such legislation to surrender their Constitutionally-mandated capability to declare war, and hand it off to the President.

It is an absolute blank check, and would be used as such by both President Trump and his successors.

If any country, and right the heck now, needed a Department of Peace, to examine and champion ways of achieving this country's geopolitical agendas other than war, it is the Unhinged, Surveilled State of America.

We are already, a morally, and financially bankrupt nation; why would these Senators accelerate what has gone wrong with this country, even worse than the degree to which it already exists?!?

US Opens New Military Base In Former ISIS Stronghold

So much for President Donald Trump's promises to pull US troops out of Syria.

Despite the US's insistence that it intends to pull troops out of Syria (at some point, possibly in the distant future), local media report that the US has set up a new military facility in Eastern Deir ez-Zor - not far from ISIS's last major stronghold in Syria, which was crushed by the Syrian Army back in November shortly before they declared victory against ISIS. The region is also known for being rich in oil.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The President we got with Trump was absolutely not the President those who supported him during the campaign, thought we were getting, based on his campaign promises.

I consider myself a reasonably articulate woman; however, that being said, I cannot begin to verbally express the profound disappointment I feel, watching the degree to which Trump has been turned into yet another Ziowarhawk, regarding the Middle East, and I fear that he will turn this region into an even further zone of desolation, destruction, and despair for its people, upon the orders of Israel's Prime Minister Netanyahu.

There are moments when the international agendas of Israel and the US government align; but there are far too many moments when they do not, and any President of this nation who is fit to lead, has to have the horse-sense to understand that.

Regime-changing Damascus, into a Western-centric, and Western-compliant country means that Israel can continue to illegally occupy the Golan Heights, and continue to sell that region's oil, rather than the profits from those sales going, legitimately, to the Syrian government.

And then, there is the issue of the 6,000 LB gorilla, draped over the Busendorfer grand, in the living room; that issue is just how much Western nonsence Russia, which has been invited by the Syrian government to help defend it against the Western-backed jihadis, is willing to tolerate.

Folks, we are looking at a potential, full-on war against Russia over Syria, and the US military may well lose this war, because it does not have the weaponry; the troop strength; the manufacturing; or the money to insure a positive outcome here.

I am so looking forward to this government making smarter choices than it has during this administration; unfortunately, with both Israel and the US
military/industrial complex in control, that may only happen...either when pigs discover they are aerodynamic, or when the US government loses a military conflict in the most horrific, embarrassing, and crippling way possible.

Russia Sells Off Billions in US Debt Amid Skyrocketing Tensions

With the prospect of new US sanctions still looming on the horizon, Russia continues to cut its reserves of US government bonds.

According to updated figures provided by the US Treasury Department, in February, Russia’s hard currency reserves currently held in US Treasuries went down by $3.1 billion and now stand at $93.8 billion, the lowest level since March of last year.

Cashing Out: How New Sanctions Can Push Russia Into Dropping Its US Bonds
Russia still remains the world’s 16th largest holder of US government bonds. China holds the top spot with almost $1.8 trillion, trailed by Japan which has shed some of its US Treasuries.

Webmaster's Commentary:

An asymmetric, but reasonable, Russian response to both these existing, and potential on-coming, sanctions.

If both Russia and China decide to collectively dump their US treasury holdings all at once, it is going to be a very lousy moment for US stock markets.

These Ex-Spies Are Harvesting Facebook Photos For A Massive Facial Recognition Database

When Mark Zuckerberg appeared before the House Energy and Commerce Committee last week in the aftermath of the Cambridge Analytica revelations, he tried to describe the difference between "surveillance and what we do." "The difference is extremely clear," a nervous-looking Zuckerberg said. "On Facebook, you have control over your information... the information we collect you can choose to have us not collect."

But not a single member of the committee pushed the billionaire CEO about surveillance companies who exploit the data on Facebook for profit. Forbes has uncovered one case that might shock them: over the last five years a secretive surveillance company founded by a former Israeli intelligence officer has been quietly building a massive facial recognition database consisting of faces acquired from the giant social network, YouTube and countless other websites. Privacy activists are suitably alarmed.

PINK FLOYD FRONTMAN STOPS CONCERT TO EXPLAIN FALSE FLAG CHEMICAL ATTACK IN SYRIA

During a solo concert this week in Barcelona, Pink Floyd frontman Roger Waters took a moment to address the audience about the recent bombing of Syria. Waters said he was approached by someone before the concert who wanted to get onstage and speak on behalf of the White Helmets about the alleged chemical attacks in Douma.

Instead of bringing the anonymous man onstage, Waters addressed the crowd on the issue himself, saying that he believes the White Helmets are a propaganda organization on a mission to justify Western intervention in the region. Waters said he believes that the person who wanted to make a statement was well-intentioned, but misled, and then offered his opinion to the audience.

Cambridge Analytica ex-CEO refuses to testify in UK

Cambridge Analytica’s ex-CEO, Alexander Nix, has refused to testify before the U.K. Parliament’s media committee, citing British authorities’ investigation into his former company’s alleged misuse of data from millions of Facebook accounts in political campaigns.

Committee Chairman Damian Collins announced Nix’s decision a day before his scheduled appearance but flatly rejected the notion that he should be let off the hook, saying Nix hasn’t been charged with a crime and there are no active legal proceedings against him.

“There is therefore no legal reason why Mr. Nix cannot appear,” Collins said in a statement. “The committee is minded to issue a formal summons for him to appear on a named day in the very near future.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

One has to wonder if there is a charge, in British law, of contempt of Parliament?!?

Obviously, Nix believes himself to be above the law here. There is no legal reason wny Nix should NOT appear.

AUTONOMOUS DRONES WILL SOON DECIDE WHO TO KILL

The United States Army wants to develop a system that can be quickly integrated and deployed into its weaponized drone fleet to automatically Detect, Recognize, Classify, Identify (DRCI) and target enemy combatants and vehicles using artificial intelligence (AI). This is an impressive leap forward, whereas humans still operate current military drones, this technology could foster a new era of autonomous drones conducting operations in hybrid wars — without human oversight.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Do not think, for one moment, that this technology will not be used domestically against peaceful dissidents in this country, who have the nerve to question this government's agendas or motives.

EVEN WESTERN MAINSTREAM MEDIA IS REPORTING THAT NO CHEMICAL ATTACK TOOK PLACE IN DOUMA

On April 7th, an attack was carried out in the town of Douma, just a few kilometers out of Syria’s capital, Damascus, which was occupied by radical terrorist forces. The attack was peddled as a chemical weapons attack using chlorine gas, and it was additionally reported to have included some unknown nerve agent (which apparently the White Helmet guys who were filming the incident were somehow immune to), which was then said to have killed at least 75 people, and, according to the UK Prime Minister Theresa May, also resulted in the deaths of 500 more, all based on social media postings, based on what is being revealed to the public anyway, by groups that have known links and coincidental interests with the very radical terrorists that Western governments are claiming to be fighting.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Translation: the US government and their lackeys in the UK and Europe are, yet again, lying through their teeth, and maintaining that something happened, which never, actually did, as justification for an attack against Syria.

And they have threatened more of the same, as UN Ambassador Nikki Haley, has stated.

This administration, goaded/blackmailed by Israel, will be satisfied with nothing less than a full-on confrontation military confrontation with Russia in Syria, which the US may well lose, because it doesn't have the money; the weaponry; the manufacturing; or the troop strength, to insure a positive outcome here.

“I don’t say it very often, but I do believe in the Second Amendment,” Saudino protests. “However…”

He doesn’t think the “average person” should have the very weaponry the Second Amendment is supposed to guarantee. To underscore his point, Saudino smears those who disagree as “the NRA and some gun nuts.” And here’s the kicker, a talking point getting moldy it’s growing so stale:

Webmaster's Commentary:

The whole point of the Second Amendment is to prevent the government from "taking out mass amounts of people."

Crimes of a Monster: Your Tax Dollars at Work

We are living in an age of scoundrels, liars, brutes and thugs. Many of them work for the U.S. government.

We are living in an age of monsters.

Ask Donald Trump. He knows all about monsters.

Any government that leaves “mothers and fathers, infants and children, thrashing in pain and gasping for air” is evil and despicable, said President Trump, justifying his blatantly unconstitutional decision (in the absence of congressional approval or a declaration of war) to launch airstrikes against Syria based on dubious allegations that it had carried out chemical weapons attacks on its own people. “They are crimes of a monster.”

Israelis Kill Unarmed Protesters, Barely Notice

Write down: I, Uri Avnery, soldier number 44410 of the Israel army, hereby dissociate myself from the army sharpshooters who murder unarmed demonstrators along the Gaza Strip, and from their commanders, who give them the orders, up to the commander in chief.

We don’t belong to the same army, or to the same state. We hardly belong to the same human race.

Is my government committing "war crimes" along the border of the Gaza Strip?

I don’t know. I am not a jurist.

It seems that officials of the International Criminal Court believe that the acts of our soldiers do constitute war crimes. They demand an international investigation.

To prevent that, our army command proposes an Israeli military investigation. That is manifestly ridiculous – an army investigating itself about acts committed on direct orders of the Chief of Staff.

Webmaster's Commentary:

THIS... is why the BDS movement is so critically important right now.

The language of economy, is a language the Israelis understand; they do not understand any kind of compassion against Palestinians. The only feeling they have toward the Palestinians is simply one of contempt, and a desire to have their own "Final Solution" against them that the world will buy off on.

This simply cannot be allowed to happen, period, end of discussion.

Russia cannot limit Israel's actions in Syria: Lieberman

Israel will not accept limitations on its "actions" in Syria from Russia or any other country, Defence Minister Avigdor Lieberman said Monday, a week after a deadly raid attributed to the Jewish state.

"We will maintain total freedom of action. We will not accept any limitation when it comes to the defence of our security interests," Lieberman said in a video interview with the Walla news site in response to a question on Russia's criticism of the recent strike.

"But we do not want to provoke the Russians. We have an open line of communication at the level of senior officers. The Russians understand us and the fact is that for years we have managed to avoid friction with them" in Syria.

Lieberman again accused Israel's main enemy Iran of seeking to entrench itself militarily in neighbouring Syria and threaten his country.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Lieberman has a PhD ( Sh*t Piled Higher and Deeper) when it comes to these brazenly hubristic threats against Russia and Iran.

I would politely suggest that he may want to rethink his public dissing of Russia at this point; Russia understands how to respond asymetrically, and there will, most probably, not be a thing Tel Aviv will be able to do to prevent this.

BROADBAND ADVISOR PICKED BY FCC CHAIRMAN AJIT PAI ARRESTED ON FRAUD CHARGES

A broadband advisor selected by Federal Communications Commission Chairman Ajit Pai to run a federal advisory committee was arrested last week on claims she tricked investors into pouring money into a multi-million dollar investment fraud scheme, according to The Wall Street Journal.

The advisor, Elizabeth Pierce, is the former chief executive of Quintillion, an Alaska-based fiber optic cable provider operating out of Anchorage. In her capacity as CEO, Pierce allegedly raised more than $250 million from two New York-based investment companies using forged contracts with other companies guaranteeing hundreds of millions of dollars in future revenue. Pierce resigned from Quintillion in August of last year, and she stepped down from her role in Pai’s Broadband Deployment Advisory Committee (BDAC) the following month.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am having a double Picard face-palm, at warp velocity, upon reading this.

I had, for some time, fallen out of love with the Daily Show and Trevor Noah, due to his unrelenting attacks on President Trump; last night, however, I watched him, and found myself both laughing at his jokes, and his political commentary.

I just wish his vitriol had smited both the Republicans and Democrats with equal fervor, because they are both equally guilty in this mess known as the American political process.

And Trevor, there is a lady you really need to get on your show; she is Hawaiian Representative Tulsi Gabbard; a Vet who is pro-peace, and a minority (Samoan/American). If the Democratic leadership has two braincells to rub together, they should be looking at a pro-peace presidential candidate in 2020; I would suggest that Gabbard be approached, and if she is willing, run for the Presidency.

I would absolutely work the phones for her, as I believe her to be a person of strong personal integrity, who would not take this country down a bad geopolitical path, just for money.

Our alleged democratic republic no longer represents its people; it only represents the monied, corporate interests which have purchased it.

Oh, yes: we have elections, and their Kabuki-styled grandeur; but by the time the American people get to "choose" their president, that person has already been chosen for us, as one of two choices who have been bought and paid for by those same corporations, and the military/industrial complex.

This is probably the reason that Gabbard will never, in my lifetime, hgve the opportunity to run for President, and that...is a damned shame.

CHINA SLAPS 179% TARIFF ON US SORGHUM HOURS AFTER US BANS EXPORTS TO CHINA'S ZTE

In response to reports that the US is ramping up the "third front" in its trade spat with China by authorizing another investigation under Section 301 of the Trade Act of 1974 - this time, aimed at obstacles that prevent US tech firms from competing in cloud computing and other high-tech industries - China has, as we anticipated, retaliated by slapping tariffs on US sorghum imports.

Yesterday, the US also revealed that it would stop US tech firms from selling components to Chinese telecom giant ZTE after accusing the company of lying during settlement negotiations - eliciting an angry response from Chinese officials, who urged US lawmakers to create a "fair, just and stable legal and policy environment" for Chinese companies, according to Xinhua.

Like Chinese tariffs on US pork products that were imposed earlier this month, the sorghum tariffs aren't merely a threat: Rather, China says they will take effect on Wednesday, per Bloomberg.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This... will not end well.

And a shooting war with China is the absolutely last thing this country needs right now.

WATCH: INSANE COP HOLDS INNOCENT MAN AT GUNPOINT, ILLEGALLY SEARCHES HIM AND IS NOT FIRED

Alex Randall was on his way to work last year on his motorcycle when he was assaulted with a deadly weapon by King County Sheriff’s Department detective Richard Rowe. The detective was in the midst of a power trip mixed with road rage when he held an innocent man at gunpoint. And, no one would’ve have known about it had Randall not been filming.

Now, after the department “investigated” themselves, the officer responsible for assaulting an innocent motorist with a deadly weapon will not be fired. Instead, Rowe will get a five day vacation.

What’s more, the “punishment” of five days suspension is not for pulling the gun, according to Sheriff Mitzi Johanknecht. It is for the detective’s lack of courtesy and unbecoming conduct. Apparently, holding innocent motorists at gunpoint during a fit of rage is entirely acceptable but you just can’t swear while doing it.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Mike and I are very fortunate to be living in a state where police are generally cool, and understand that their job is "to protect and serve"; one of our neighbors is HPD, and she is just a wonderful human being, with a great kid.

Unfortunately, not all people on the mainland have the kind of experience we have had with our local police; the Israeli training, to which many mainland cops are subjected, means that they treat their citizens just the way Israelis treat the Palestinians. And that... is "with extreme prejudice".

55 INFOSEC PROFESSIONALS SIGN LETTER OPPOSING GEORGIA’S COMPUTER CRIME BILL

In a letter to Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal, 55 cybersecurity professionals from around the country are calling for a veto for S.B. 315, a state bill that would give prosecutors new power to target independent security researchers.

This isn’t just a matter of solidarity among those in the profession. Georgia represents our nation’s third largest information security sector. The signers have clients, partners, and offices in Georgia. They attend conferences in Georgia. They teach and study in Georgia or recruit students from Georgia. And they all agree that S.B. 315, which would create a new crime of "unauthorized access," would do more harm than good.

Read the letter from the 55 information security specialists in opposition to S.B. 315.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is really horrifically written legislation, which means that the Georgia legislature will, most probably, pass it anyway.

THE NEXT OIL BOOM IS ABOUT TO HAPPEN HERE

It’s one of the most unbelievable energy stories of the year.

A Chinese oil company was sitting on what might be a major oil discovery - a 182-million-barrel probable reserve, with great potential to grow.

They spent hundreds of millions of dollars and sunk 13 wells, shot or acquired 6,700 km of 2D seismic, and shot over 1,000 km of 3D seismic. Then - thanks to a weird quirk of Sudanese geology - they gave away the entire African mother lode for free.

They literally abandoned their whole investment in the Al-Rawat Basin.

Now, a tiny Canadian explorer - Stamper Oil & Gas (TSX.V: STMP; OTC: STMGF) - stands to reap a petroleum opportunity unlike anything we’ve seen in years.

And, they’re doing it with an energy industry legend - the one man with a nearly perfect 40-year record of striking oil in the tricky rock of Sudan.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It's not just the oil here which is important; it is the geopolitical implications of this find, and how Sudan will be able to grow from the profits of this find.

IDF Chief Says Israel Is Becoming Like Nazi Germany, Refuses to Back Down

Last year, a top Israeli general’s comments during the country’s annual Holocaust Remembrance Day address sparked controversy when he likened the atmosphere in modern day Israel to 1930’s Nazi Germany.

“If there is anything that frightens me in the remembrance of the Holocaust, it is discerning nauseating processes that took place in Europe in general, and in Germany specifically back then, 70, 80 and 90 years ago, and seeing evidence of them here among us in the year 2016,” Maj. Gen. Yair Golan, the Israeli army’s deputy chief of staff said.

Now, the outgoing IDF Deputy Chief has doubled down on his remarks and in an interview this week, defended his controversial speech.

As the Times of Israel reports, Golan, speaking in a new video interview produced by the military, said he “didn’t realize it would go to the very political place that it went,” but added that he “doesn’t take back the remarks.”

Western Military Debacle in Eastern Ghouta

You won’t be hearing any of this in the western news media because the U.S./UK definitely want to keep the lid on this report. Compiled by Chinese intelligence analysts and explained below by Evgeniy Satanovskiy, one of Russia’s leading Middle East experts, it throws a new light on the situation in Syria and, indirectly, the Skripals poisoning too.
According to the Chinese analysts hundreds of U.S. Special Forces and advisors were killed or wounded in East Ghouta during the recent Syrian Arab Army assault. On March 17 alone Chinese analysts estimate that as many as 200 U.S. Special Forces personnel were “eliminated”.

AN EMPIRE BUILT ON FEAR AT HOME AND ABROAD

Political leaders and the mass media deluge the public with a constant stream of frightening incidents caused by the enemy-of-the-week: nerve gas killing dozens of little babies in Syria, Russian-directed poison assassination attempts in England and terror incidents throughout Europe, requiring an increase in domestic police state surveillance and spying. Extensively monitored bank records, intrusive workplace controls, and all personal and, especially, political communications, are in the hands of state security officials or corporate security contractors.

The Neocons’ Real Plan for Syria Emerges from the Lack of Rubble

I told you over the weekend that Trump’s presidency was over. As a practical matter it is. His yielding to his ‘advisors’ on every foreign policy issue makes it clear that he can’t or won’t stand up to the relentless pressure to do what his instincts tell him.

This morning’s article at the Deep State Washington Post paints a very clear picture of what the situation is. The advisors whose loyalties are dubious run the show. Their thinking has not evolved one whit from previous administrations.

Remember what Russian President Vladimir Putin always says, “Presidents change. Policies do not.”

The End of the Debt-As-Currency Era

We’re now living in the era of the greatest level of debt mankind has ever created. In fact, we’ve come to regard it as “normal.” Most governments are far beyond broke. And they won’t be saved by confiscation or taxation, as their people and corporations are just as heavily in debt. For this reason, a collapse is inevitable. And, since the severity of a collapse is invariably directly proportional to the severity of the debt, when it arrives, it will be a collapse that eclipses all previous collapses.

I wonder how many people, not just Americans but those in other countries, have come to the conclusion that the United States today is a less free and less aware society than the societies in the dystopian novels of the 20th century or in movies such as The Matrix and V for Vendetta. Just as people in the dystopian novels had no idea of their real situation, few Americans do either.

Paul Craig Roberts Has One Awkward Question For Washington Warmongers

US officials and the presstitutes tell us that the illegal US missile attack on Syria destroyed chemical weapons sites where chlorine and sarin are stored/manufactured.

If this were true, would not a lethal cloud have been released that would have taken the lives of far more people than claimed in the alleged Syrian chemical attack on Douma?

Would not the US missile attack be identical to a chemical weapons attack and thus place the US and its vassals in the same category as Washington is attempting to place Assad and Putin?

What about it, you chemical weapons experts?

Do chemical weapons only release their elements when they explode from intended use but not when they explode from being militarily attacked?

There is no evidence in Syria of chemical residue from the chemical weapons facilities allegedly destroyed by US missiles.

No dead victims.

No reports of hospitals treating Syrian casualties of the American chemical attack.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Always the logician, this man!! Great questions.

Russia Reveals Who "Staged" Syria Gas Attack, As US Claims Moscow "May Have Tampered" With Site

The Russian envoy to the chemical weapons watchdog group, OPCW, said that non-governmental organizations (NGOs) funded by the UK and US carried out the April 7 chemical attack in the Damascus, Syria suburb of Douma.

Russia's permanent representative to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), Alexander Shulgin, said Russia has irrefutable evidence that there was no chemical weapons incident in Douma.

"Therefore, we have not just a "high degree of confidence," as our Western partners claim, but we have incontrovertible evidence that there was no incident on April 7 in Douma and that all this was a planned provocation by the British intelligence services, probably, with the participation of their senior allies from Washington with the aim of misleading the international community and justifying aggression against Syria," he stated. -Sputnik

Russian reinforcements head for Syria: Warships laden with tanks, military trucks and armoured patrol boats sail towards the Middle East as the world awaits Putin's response to airstrikes

Two Russian warships laden with military vehicles have been spotted en route to Syria after Friday's US-led airstrikes obliterated three suspected chemical weapons sites.

An Alligator-landing ship was pictured cruising down The Bosphorus on Sunday as the world awaits Vladimir Putin's response to this week's co-ordinated military action against Syria.

The vessel was spotted on its way to the Russian naval base at Tartus on the north Syrian coast.

On its fourth deployment of Russian military equipment to the war-torn country the ship was seen laden with tanks, trucks, ambulances and an IED radar.

A yellow RoRo Alexandr Tkachenko was also pictured heading for Tartus carrying high-speed patrol boats, a temporary bridge structure and several trucks. The images were posted on social media by Bosphorus-based naval observer Yörük I??k.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The Russian government is making it crystal clear with these deployments; any more attacks against Syria by the US, the UK, and France, will most probably translate as a war with Russia.

NEW US HISTORY SCHOOL TEXTBOOK SLAMS TRUMP SUPPORTERS AS SCARED RACISTS

American schools are the battlefield for our children’s minds and progressives are in charge of it all, from writing the textbooks, to those reading them aloud in class.

Indianapolis talk radio host Alex On-Air posted several examples on Twitter from the Advanced Placement edition of “By The People: A History of the United States,” published by textbook giant Pearson which has a copyright of 2019.

Reading like an Op-Ed from the New York Times, the book says of the 2016 election:

“Trump’s supporters saw the vote as a victory for the people who, like themselves, had been forgotten in a fast-changing America–a mostly older, often rural or suburban, and overwhelmingly white group.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Pearson is international giant of social propaganda, and a purveyor of miseducation from which some of America's kids will never fully recover.

It is collectively imbued with a Soros-like dogma, and a desire to foment even more divisions in the American people; so let's call a spade a spade, shall we?!?

Our options in 2016 were officially horrible; you had the upstart Trump, who recognized that even though, due to offshoring/outsourcing, there were areas characterized by the Democrats as "flyover country", there is no such thing as a flyover human being. He was able to exploit that to his benefit in the election. His supporters really hoped he would "drain the swamp" in DC; unfortunately, the swamp turned him, and he has been fully absorbed by the warkawks, particularly within the start of this last year.

Then you had Hillary Clinton, a woman with more baggage than does Kim Kardashian on a photoshoot, not to mention a duel "dead bodies" list she shares with her husband, Bill. this was a woman so ambitious that she would accept anyone's money; why else would she have posed with a known, convicted drug felon, Jorge Cabreras, in front of the White House Christmas tree?!?

Images: Hillary Clinton posing with Jeorge Cabrera in front of the White House Christmas Tree

You can't change your heritage; I am boringly European in mine, but I do see a beautiful "goldening" of America in the current era of relationships, marriges, and their kids. And to me, this is a good thing.

But to essentially call me a "white racist", when I am blissfully married to a pan-Asian husband, and conduct two choirs in a beautifully rainbow community, filled with every ethnicity you could possibly imagine?

Pearson, you jumped the shark on this one.

I would like to hope that this alleged "history book" is recycled for its paper value, as it has no real historical value whatsoever.

Scientist Debunks US Claims—Releases Video Evidence US Bombed Syrian Cancer Research Facility

The attacked launched by the United States, the United Kingdom and France, has reduced the Pharmaceutical and Chemical Industries Research Institute in Barzeh to rubble, according to a report from the Syrian Arab News Agency, which noted that the facility’s use “centered on preparing the chemical compositions for cancer drugs, and conducting chemical analyses of the materials entering Syria, which are used in pharmaceutical and food industries.”

Scientist Saeed Saeed, head of the Institution for the Development of Pharmaceutical and Chemical Industries, told CCTV+ that while the facility was used by the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons in 2013, it is now used as a research center for pharmaceutical products because sanctions from the Western countries that are bombing Syria have resulted in a shortage of medication.

US IS ‘LOCKED AND LOADED,’ TRUMP WARNS OF MORE STRIKES ON SYRIA

The warning came via US ambassador Nikki Haley at an emergency UN Security Council meeting Saturday, a day after the US, UK and France struck three Syrian sites in response to an alleged chemical attack in the Damascus suburb of Douma last week.

The UN meeting came with some heated exchanges between the American, Russian and Syrian envoys.

Russia’s UN ambassador, Vasily Nebenzia, read out a quote from Russian President Vladimir Putin accusing the US, UK and France of “cynical disdain” in acting without waiting for the OPCW’s findings.

Nebenzia accused the West of “hooliganism” and demanded that it “immediately end its actions against Syria and refrain from them in the future.” “You are not only placing yourselves above international law, but you are trying to rewrite international law,” Nebenzia said.

Nikki Haley claimed the strikes were “justified, legitimate and proportionate.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

I don't know how the US government's UN Ambassador Haley could have telegraphed more loudly, and in a more bellicose manner, that the US, the UK, and France are, at this moment, planning more false flags against the Syrian government, as the justification for more strikes against this country.

I would, at this moment in time, like to politely suggest that a war against Russia in Syria is a really, really bad idea; the US military doesn't have the weaponry; the money; the manufacturing; or the troop strength to guarantee a positive outcome to a conventional war against Russia in Syria, because that is precisely one very ugly scenario which could, very quickly, come to fruition.

STATEMENT BY VLADIMIR PUTIN ON SYRIA

On April 14, the United States, supported by its allies, launched an airstrike against military and civilian targets in the Syrian Arab Republic. An act of aggression against a sovereign state that is on the frontline in the fight against terrorism was committed without a mandate from the UN Security Council and in violation of the UN Charter and norms and principles of international law.

Just as one year ago, when the Shayrat Airbase in Syria came under attack, the US used as a pretext a staged chemical attack against civilians, this time in Douma, a Damascus suburb. Having visited the site of the would-be chemical attack, Russian military experts did not find any traces of chlorine or any other toxic agent. Not a single local resident was able to confirm that a chemical attack had actually taken place.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Putin has called this correctly; the US government hasn't been "the good guy" in geopolitics and wars for far too many years of my life; and after the hysterical, and completely false, charge that "Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction" as the pretext for the Iraq War, I can never believe anything our government says, ever again, period, end of discussion.

And I know I am not alone on this.

The US warhawks didn't get what they wanted in the "restrained" (yet deadly) strike against Syria on Friday evening; so look for a number of continually escalating "false flags" in their rush, ultimately, for a war which will have absolutely zero benefit, but great peril, for the American people.

But as always, Israel gets what Israel wants; and Israel wants regime change in Damascus as a prelude to regime change in Tehran.

This government, in funding these wars, is taking money away from American taxpayer, and putting it right into the hands of the military/industrial complex, which continually betrays us us by creating shoddy products which never work as advertised; and offering horrifically late deliveries of their products, coupled immoral and insane cost overruns.

When Donald Trump’s advisers drew his attention to the fact that he might have telegraphed his intentions of bombing Syria to Moscow, the imbecile came up with an even more childish tweet the next day, saying: “Never said when an attack on Syria would take place. Russian reporter Borodin dead after mystery fall

A Russian investigative journalist who wrote about the deaths of mercenaries in Syria has died in hospital after falling from his fifth-floor flat.

What did Borodin write?

In recent weeks, the journalist had written about Russian mercenaries known as the "Wagner Group" who were reportedly killed in Syria on 7 February in a confrontation with US forces.

Last week, the outgoing head of the CIA, Mike Pompeo, said that "a couple hundred" Russian mercenaries died in the clash in Deir al-Zour province. The mercenaries were apparently taking part in an attack by pro-Syrian government fighters on the headquarters of a US ally, the Syrian Democratic Forces.

US NAVY ACCUSED OF TECH PIRACY

The US Navy is under fire for allegedly stealing hundreds of millions of dollars worth of intellectual property, including software and a high-speed ship design, but the sailing branch insisted that it respects intellectual property rights.

The Navy is entangled in two long-running federal court cases involving IP theft. In March, German software company Bitmanagement asked a federal court for a summary judgement after accusing the Navy of illegally installing $600 million in software on more than 500,000 computers.

In 2011, the company agreed to license to the Navy 38 copies of its virtual-reality software. The Navy was reportedly happy with the software and Bitmanagement began negotiating to sell additional copies. But then the company said it made a startling discovery.

Webmaster's Commentary:

IP theft is no laughing matter, and should be taken very seriously.

DONALD TRUMP ORDERED SYRIA STRIKE BASED ON A SECRET LEGAL JUSTIFICATION EVEN CONGRESS CAN’T SEE

Trump used media reports as his justification.

ON FRIDAY NIGHT, President Trump ordered the U.S. military to conduct a bombing attack against the government of Syria without congressional authorization. How can this be constitutional, given the fact that Article I, Section 8 of America’s founding document declares that “The Congress shall have Power … To declare War”?

The deeply bizarre and alarming answer is that Trump almost certainly does have some purported legal justification provided to him by the Justice Department’s Office of Legal Counsel — but no one else, including Congress, can read it.

"You will no longer be allowed to sleep out on our sidewalks, under our bridges or on the side of our freeways in California." He said public spaces shouldn't be "littered" with homeless people. He said he'd require law enforcement to aggressively enforce anti-camping and loitering laws characterized by social justice groups as criminalization of homelessness.

Civil and Criminal Asset Forfeiture Attacked on Grounds of “Excessive Fines”

The Eighth Amendment to the Constitution is quite clear: “Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.”

While we have witnessed much discussion over the years about the meaning of “cruel and unusual punishments,” relatively little has been said about “excessive fines.” Yet governments at all levels appear to give little regard to the relationship between some of the outlandish fines imposed and the significance of the crimes.

A case in Indiana is expected to land in the lap of the U.S. Supreme Court soon: the issue of civil or criminal asset forfeiture (CAF) and “excessive fines.”

'Time for warnings has passed': EU committee demands sanctions against Viktor Orban's Hungary

The European Parliament's Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs committee will ask MEPs to vote for Hungary to be sanctioned over alleged violations of the rule of law, just days after Viktor Orban's decisive re-election.

"Time and time again, Viktor Orbán's government has undermined the independence of the judiciary, freedom of the press and the fundamental rights of its citizens," said the motion, authored by Dutch Green Party MEP Judith Sargentini, who has led an investigation on whether Budapest is in breach of "EU values."

With Orban set for a third consecutive term, after the Eurosceptic, anti-immigrant Fidesz party took the vast majority of parliament seats on April 8, the EU committee proposed invoking Article 7 of the Treaty on European Union. The statute would force Hungarian officials to defend their country before the European Council, and could eventually see Budapest's voting rights in the EU suspended.

Delusions of Empire

Anyone who believes that governments create reality is living in a fantasy world, and is surely no conservative, neo- or otherwise, either politically or temperamentally. As the conservative philosopher Claes Ryn has pointed out,

“Only great conceit could inspire a dream of armed world hegemony. The ideology of benevolent American empire and global democracy dresses up a voracious appetite for power. It signifies the ascent to power of a new kind of American, one profoundly at odds with that older type who aspired to modesty and self-restraint.”

Growing disdain for America’s false democratic ideals

In 2017, the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) downgraded the US democratic system. The EIU has an annual Democracy index that provides a snapshot of global democracy by rating countries on five categories: electoral process and pluralism; civil liberties; functioning of government; political participation; and political culture. They are then classified into four types of governments: full democracy, flawed democracy, hybrid regime, and authoritarian regime.

The US is rated as a flawed democracy – one having free elections but weighed down by weak governance, an underdeveloped political culture and low levels of political participation. According to Pew, Gallup and other polling agencies, there is a trust deficit between the American people and the government, which has a corrosive effect on the functioning of democracy.

“Progress, far from consisting in change, depends on retentiveness. When change is absolute there remains no being to improve and no direction is set for possible improvement: and when experience is not retained, as among savages, infancy is perpetual. Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”
~ George Santayana, The Life of Reason: The Phases of Human Progress, 1905-’06, Vol. 1

“It is no use trying to escape their arrogance by submission or good behavior. Robbers of the world, having by universal plunder exhausted the land, their drive is greed. If the enemy be rich, they are rapacious; if poor, they lust for domination. Neither rule of the East nor West can satisfy them. Alone among men, they crave with equal eagerness poverty and riches. To plunder, slaughter, seize with false pretenses, they give the lying name ‘empire.’ And where nothing remains but a desert, they call that ‘peace.’ ”

The Harder the Winds of War Blow, the More they Suck

When I wrote a few weeks ago that I thought the Neocons were making the full-court press for war I thought President Trump was a reluctant player in the game.

Part of me still believes that.

Part of me also believes that Trump, like everyone else, is a slave to his passions and is easily manipulated into terrible decisions. Case in point was last year’s bombing of the Al Shairat airbase in Syria after a similar false flag chemical weapons attack at Khan Sheikoun.

Will he fall victim to them again this year? According to him, we’ll know soon. Meanwhile a carrier group has been dispatched to the Eastern Mediterranean. Chinese missile frigates are there supporting Russian vessels and the destroyer U.S.S. Donald Cook is now just off the coats of the Russian base at Tartus.

Idiocy Is Bringing The End Of The World

Americans, for the most part a clueless people, have no awareness of the risk that the criminally insane government in Washington is taking with their lives. What if the Russians mean what they say and do not again turn the other cheek and back down? What happens if Russia replies to force with force?

Why is it that only a few Internet sites are asking this question?
