Pennsylvania Principal Forced to Stop Saying ‘God Bless America’

A district in Pennsylvania has prohibited an elementary school principal from saying ‘God Bless America’ after the Pledge of Allegiance, following a single parental complaint on the practice.

Peter Brigg, the principal at Sabold Elementary School, had made a practice of saying the phrase as part of his morning routine for several years.

A parent at the school somehow took offense to Brigg’s patriotic statement, filing a complaint with the Freedom From Religion Foundation.

“When a public school regularly proclaims, ‘God bless America,’ it sends a message to its students that the school is endorsing and compelling belief in God,” the group wrote in a letter.

They argued it violates the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment of the Constitution

Coca-Cola can 'quash' findings from scientists and walk away with the data: Many universities funded by the firm sign contracts allowing it to terminate studies 'without reason', study finds

Coca-Cola has a contract allowing the company to 'quash' findings from health research it funds at universities in North America, a new study reveals.

Through more than 87,000 documents obtained through Freedom of Information requests, researchers at the University of Cambridge identified several clauses in legal documents that provide such a loop hole.

It gives the company early access to scientists' findings and the right to 'terminate [research] without reason' - with the power to seize the data to prevent further study.

The firm has pledged transparent and 'unrestricted' support for science, funding studies that often have great influence in the fields of nutrition, energy and exercise.

But the researchers say the legal clauses they have found mean that Coca-Cola could suppress 'critical health information' - and may have already done so - but there is no way of knowing if so, what, when, to what extent.

The West – Full Spectrum Dementia: Bogus News Media, Corruption of Academic Research, Irrational Lies Fed into the Educational System

Journalism has never been free of propaganda. News has always been produced and marketed like any other commodity, satisfying and shaping consumers’ opinions, loyalties and taste. Over the last thirty years, the US elites and their allies have effectively eliminated conventional journalism in favor of propaganda and counter-propaganda serving their relentless war on the majority world. Integral to that war in recent years has been the purposeful manipulation of social media so as to usurp and compromise any remnants of orthodox news reporting.

Jewish students sue to oust pro-Palestinian panel from UMass

A group of Jewish students at the University of Massachusetts Amherst is asking a judge to order a panel discussion about Palestinian human rights off campus because it is anti-Semitic.

The panel, titled "Not Backing Down: Israel, Free Speech, and the Battle for Palestinian Human Rights" is scheduled for Saturday and features Roger Waters, a member of the rock band Pink Floyd. The panelists are expected to argue that pro-Israel groups have tried to silence Palestinian points of view.

A Superior Court judge heard arguments Monday but did not rule.

The panel is sponsored by an organization run by a UMass faculty member, and co-sponsored by two academic departments.

BORDER PATROL RELEASING THOUSANDS OF ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS IN TUCSON

Via: AZ Central:

Border Patrol officials have begun releasing migrant families in Tucson because they lack the space to detain them and immigration officials are unable to take them into custody.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the agency that normally takes custody of asylum-seeking families once they have been processed, has continued releasing families in Tucson.

That includes migrants apprehended in the Tucson sector as well as migrants who crossed through the Yuma area. Pima County officials estimate that ICE has released about 7,000 migrants in Tucson in the past eight months.

On top of that, Border Patrol officials in El Paso have been busing hundreds of migrants each day to Tucson so they can be released there instead of El Paso, which has also been struggling greatly with the sheer number of migrant families.

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF we DO NOT have an immigration crisis on the border, as some on the left have asserted, as though it were a fact, what about this huge number of illegal immigrants crossing into the US on a daily basis?!?

With the official Federal deficit in the US nearing 22 trillion, where, please, is the money to clothe, feed, house, educate and in general, take care of these people, who have very little to "bring to the table" in terms of job skills other than manual labor, which is going to be nearly extinct in a decade?!?

The ADHD overdiagnosis epidemic is a schooling problem, not a child one

Childhood exuberance is now a liability. Behaviors that were once accepted as normal, even if mildly irritating to adults, are increasingly viewed as unacceptable and cause for medical intervention. High energy, lack of impulse control, inability to sit still and listen, lack of organizational skills, fidgeting, talking incessantly—these typical childhood qualities were widely tolerated until relatively recently. Today, children with these characteristics are being diagnosed with, and often medicated for, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) at an astonishing rate.

Watch: Chinese University Successfully Launches Hypersonic Rocket

The Shanghai Morning Post notes that Xiamen University is the first university in the world to have developed and flown a hypersonic rocket.

"We call [the design] the double waverider," said Zhu Chengxiang, an assistant professor at the university’s School of Aerospace Engineering and part of the Jia Geng No. 1 team.

Unlike American hypersonic rockets such as Boeing's X-51 Waverider, which rides on a hot layer of gas known as a "shock wave," the Jiageng-1 No.1 rides on two layers of shock waves, one underneath the rocket and the other in the air intake of its ramjet engine.

The Jiageng-1 No.1 has several innovative advantages over Western hypersonic rockets: it can transition from supersonic to hypersonic speeds with ease, and the design produces more lift allowing it to travel further with more efficient fuel consumption.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Meanwhile, in US universities, students cannot decide what gender they are!

New School Textbook Says President Donald Trump Is “Racist” and Worse…

High School Students in Liberal States could soon be assigned a Left Biased History Book. The textbook is put out by Pearson Education and is titled, “By the People: A History of the United States.”

The Book slanders Trump and anyone that followed Trump. If that were not enough it pits police officers against black folks. The textbook is meant for AP students meaning the writer intends to go after the more knowledgeable students with his propaganda.

“The final section of the book, titled, “The Angry Election of 2016” is especially critical of the president.

“Most thought that Trump was too extreme a candidate to win the nomination, but his extremism, his anti-establishment rhetoric, and, some said, his not very hidden racism connected with a significant number of primary voters,” the author wrote.”

UCLA Hosts Pole Dancing Class for Students

Students at UCLA learned about the “art” of pole dancing last week in a “Sexploration – Pole Class” hosted by two official university divisions at the school, which promised to teach the “basic moves needed to become a magnificent pole dancer.”

The university’s pole dancing class, entitled, “Sexploration – Pole Class,” which was hosted last week by the UCLA Sexual Health Coalition and UCLA Housing, advertised itself as a general introduction to “the basic moves needed to become a magnificent pole dancer” as well as a chance for students “to explore” their “inner-diva and divo.”

“Calling all pole newbies to pole enthusiasts! Your chance to explore your inner-diva and divo!” read the class description on its Facebook event page, “Get introduced to the basic moves needed to become a magnificent pole dancer.”

“Space is limited for this VERY POPULAR class,” added the description.

Nearly 100,000 Unauthorized Immigrants Graduate From US High Schools Per Year: Study

U.S. high schools are graduating nearly 100,000 unauthorized immigrants per year, according to a study released Wednesday.

The Migration Policy Institute’s (MPI) research found 98,000 were graduating per year in 2016, an increase from 65,000 a year in 2003.

California, Texas and Florida graduated 50 percent of unauthorized immigrants.

The report cites several reasons for the increase in graduates like increase in illegal immigration and policies that support unauthorized immigrants to receive higher education.

Unauthorized immigrants who graduated from high school used to be eligible for the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, which allows children of illegal immigrants to work and study in the U.S. without getting deported. Current recipients can renew the status, but the program no longer accepts new applications.

A Fly In The Ointment

Authored by Michael Lebowitz via RealInvestmentAdvice.com,

Many financial assets, especially those that are the riskiest, are priced well above their respective fundamental values. A thank you primarily belongs to unprecedented monetary policy conducted on a domestic and global scale. The vast financial rewards and temporary economic stability attributed to central bank actions appear to be blinding many investors to the longer-term consequences of these actions and the implications for their investments in an era of monetary policy normalization.

Accordingly, we discuss the proverbial fly in the ointment, or what might prevent central bankers from being able to successfully “manage” markets with their extraordinary policies.

MARK ZUCKERBERG TURNED AMERICAN CLASSROOMS INTO NONCONSENSUAL LABORATORIES FOR HIS PET EDUCATIONAL THEORIES, AND NOW THEY'RE REBELLING

SOURCE: BOING BOING
Summit Learning is a nonprofit, high-tech "customized learning" group funded by Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan's family charity; under the program, students are equipped with high-surveillance Chromebooks and work on their own "at their own pace" and call on teachers to act as "mentors" when they get stuck.

It's a high-tech version of student-led education, where a high teacher-to-pupil ratio allows students to pursue self-directed education based on their own proclivities and interests, and mentor one another. But in the Zuck version, students work alone in front of screens, in social isolation, taking automated quizzes to assess their progress.

Many students and parents find this incredibly invasive and frustrating. Students with special needs -- exactly the group that you'd expect to benefit most from "customized learning" -- find the systems especially troublesome, and for students with screen-triggered epilepsy, the systems are pure torture.

Webmaster's Commentary:

And of course, I would be almost willing to bet that you are not going to hear about this "Zuckerbergian epic fail" in any reports by any of the warrestpondents or presstitutes.

Homeschooling Parents’ Children Taken by Government, Citing ‘Educational Neglect’

Hemerd King hasn’t seen his five children for two years. The New York City government broke up his family due to a string of allegations that, upon basic scrutiny, appear unsubstantiated.

The Epoch Times previously explored the twisted incentives in the system that keeps more than 400,000 children in foster homes and shelters, and de facto encourages social workers and administrators to keep families apart.

Homeschooling families like the Kings are especially at risk. The nonprofit Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA) has defended thousands of such families that have faced investigations by Child Protective Services (CPS).

Elizabeth Warren Proposes $640 Billion Student Debt Relief

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) proposed Monday a new $640 billion student college debt relief program that would also eliminate college tuition for all two and four-year public colleges.
The 2020 Democrat presidential candidate unveiled the ambitious policy proposal as she attempts to distinguish herself from the large and progressive Democrat field. Warren released the proposal ahead of a series of youth-oriented CNN town halls Monday night with 2020 presidential candidates at Saint Anselm College in New Hampshire.

“It’s a problem for all of us,” Warren noting, that student college debt has reached more than $1.5 trillion and affects more than 40 million Americans. “It’s reducing home ownership rates. It’s leading fewer people to start businesses. It’s forcing students to drop out of school before getting a degree.”

Hysteria Over School Safety Won’t Keep Us Safe

By James Bovard

Numerous Indiana elementary school teachers were shot in January as part of a “safe schools” training program. According to the Indiana State Teachers Association, sheriff deputies ordered teachers “into a room four at a time, told them to crouch down and then shot them execution-style with pellets in rapid succession,” leaving several of them bloodied and many of them screaming in terror. The teachers union is “is lobbying lawmakers to add [legislative] language prohibiting teachers from being shot with any sort of ammunition” during school safety drills, according to the Indianapolis Star.

The Indiana program was part of the school lockdown drills occurring across the nation spurred in part by a Colorado massacre that occurred twenty years ago on April 20...

Lori Loughlin’s Daughter Now Officially Being Investigated by Feds

Multiple sources are saying that one of the daughters of Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli is now officially being investigated by the Department of Justice over her role in the college bribery scandal.

Daily Mail reported that one of the couple’s two daughters received a letter from federal prosecutors in Massachusetts earlier this month saying that she is the subject of an investigation that could result in her being hit with criminal charges.

WORKERS FIND DOZENS OF ALLEGED SECRET GRAVES AT JUVENILE INSTITUTION WHERE BOYS WERE TORTURED, RAPED

Workers preparing to cleanup a fuel storage site near the infamous Dozier reform school—Florida’s first juvenile justice institution—discovered something far worse then pollution. Evidence of more than two dozen “clandestine” child graves was discovered as workers tested the ground.

Shockingly enough, this is the second time secret graves for tortured and raped children have been found nearby the school.

A report out of the Miami Herald detailed the horrific discovery this week:

A company hired to evaluate underground storage tanks adjacent to the Dozier School for Boys in Marianna performed a series of ground-penetrating radar tests on a parcel a little less than 500 feet from what is called the Boot Hill Cemetery at Dozier, an infamous youth prison linked to more than a century of chilling abuse.

Webmaster's Commentary:

A society can be judged by how it treats the most fragile members; but the question in my mind is, how in the name of heaven did these kids wind up in one of the most reprehensibly abusive environments to which they could have possibly been sent, with absolutely no one to advocate for them ?!?

My bet is that most of them were poor, and with no cohesive family around them.

Does any child on this planet, even if they may have been "acting out" , deserve this?!? The short answer is, HELL no!

And yet, we see the pattern emerging over and over, where the rich and powerful believe that they have the "right" to indulge in these horrific behaviours because they are "different" from the the rest of us, and tend to come out of legal situations relating to this kind of behaviour, with barely the proverbial "slap on the wrist". If anyone wants any proof of this, I submit to you the trial of Jeffrey Epstein last year.

Jeffrey Epstein: sex offender reaches settlement, averting victim testimonies

I would suggest that these "testimonies" would have gotten Epstein locked away for a long, long time;, but in this country, as elsewhere, money and power buys a lot of law-breaking and impunity; that is simply the reality.

Israeli Apartheid Week stands out for especially virulent antisemitic tactics

***
Harvard University’s undergraduate council voted on Sunday to give $2,050 to the Palestine Solidarity Committee to add to their IAW a physical “Wall of Resistance,” sponsored by 14 students groups, including Harvard College Democrats, Palestinian speakers and a student panel, reported the school’s newspaper, The Harvard Crimson.

The anti-Israel speakers included Princeton University professor and political activist Cornel West and Temple University professor Marc Lamont Hill, who was fired by CNN in November as a contributor for calling for “a Free Palestine From the River to the Sea.”

“This openly anti-Zionist event frequently crossed the line into outright antisemitism, including conflations of Zionism with ‘white supremacy,’ and enthusiastic chants to free Palestine ‘from the river to the sea,’ which is commonly understood as a call for the destruction of Israel as a Jewish state,” CAMERA campus coordinator Zac Schildcrout told JNS. “These radical ideas that demonize Jews are bigoted and should be passionately countered by the Harvard community.”

Wall Street Is Now Buying College Students Like Stocks

Shortly after we wrote about an online software engineering school that was allowing students to pay their tuition by forfeiting 17% of their income after they graduated, it's becoming clearer that the model of selling an "equity stake in yourself" to fund tuition is making its way to the mainstream.

Equitizing students was the topic of an in-depth Bloomberg Businessweek look into the details of what Americans are doing to combat the $1.6 trillion in higher education debt that they owe. Specifically, the article followed the path of 23 year old Amy Wroblewski, who has been literally turning over a set percentage of her salary to investors - and will do so for the 8 1/2 years after graduating college.

The Assault on Campus Free Speech Doesn’t Just Come from Liberals

The free speech wars flared up again in March when President Donald Trump signed an executive order tying federal research funding to protections for free speech on college campuses. Yemeni child soldiers recruited by Saudi-UAE coalition

Al Jazeera has obtained exclusive footage that proves the presence of child soldiers in the recruitment camps of the Saudi-UAE-led coalition fighting in Yemen.

The children, desperately poor, are being recruited to fight along the Saudi border to defend it from the Houthis, a rebel group that overran the capital, Sanaa, and large swaths of Yemen's northwest in 2014.

In 2015, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) formed a coalition to overthrow the Houthis - plunging Yemen into a ruinous war - supported by forces loyal to the country's internationally recognised government.

The conflict has created the world's worst humanitarian crisis, pushing Yemen to the brink of famine and leaving about 80 percent of its population - 24 million people - in need of humanitarian assistance.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Al Jazeera should be commended on this issue; these kids belong in school, getting the education they need, and not armed with shotguns and bombs.

That the Saudis think of them as "collateral damage", is chilling.

The entire formal education apparatus seems to reinforce the repetition of learning from past generations rather than forging new ideas and new applications for a world changing at an increasingly rapid pace. As Internet connectivity expands and the speed of accessing information increases, the opportunities for formal learning should also accelerate. College Distributes List of Things Students Should Think

Amherst College in Massachusetts just did something so ridiculous that it actually had to reverse course, and that never happens.

10-year-old girl dies after classroom fight

A 10-year-old girl has died two days after she was injured in a fight with a fellow pupil at her primary school.

RaNiya Wright was found unresponsive by staff at the Forest Hills Elementary School in the South Carolina of Walterboro, after she got into an altercation with another Year 5 student on Monday.

They called the emergency services and RaNiya was taken to hospital where she remained alive, until she passed away on Wednesday.

The other student involved in the fight, who has not been identified, has been suspended from the school, according to NBC News.

“Because this is an ongoing investigation, we ask that the community understands that the information we can share is limited,” district officials said in a statement.

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF our Secretary of Education, Betsy DeVos, wants to make education in this country on a par with that of Asia, or Scandinavia, she had better start privatizing education, both for the reason of lowered violence, and better education.

Unionized teachers will scream, because Private school teachers get less money than they do; but the outcomes they provide for their students are, generally, quite a bit lower than those of private schools.

University students demand philosophers such as Plato and Kant are removed from syllabus because they are white

They are said to be the founding fathers of Western philosophy, whose ideas underpin civilised society.

But students at a prestigious London university are demanding that figures such as Plato, Descartes and Immanuel Kant should be largely dropped from the curriculum because they are white.

The student union at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) insists that when studying philosophy “the majority of philosophers on our courses” should be from Africa and Asia.

Pitzer College president casts veto to protect Israeli apartheid

In a historic move, the College Council at Pitzer College voted to suspend a study abroad in Israel program on 14 March.

However, college president Melvin Oliver vetoed the measure just hours later, a decision a faculty member said was “a betrayal of [Pitzer’s] core values” and one that displayed “contempt for the college’s democratic process.”

The council, a legislative body that includes staff, faculty and students, passed the measure conditionally suspending the partnership with Haifa University by 67-28 votes, with eight abstentions.

The move followed a faculty vote to suspend the program last fall, citing Israel’s discriminatory entry restrictions based on ancestry and political speech.

FLASHBACK - Only Two-Thirds Of American Millennials Believe The Earth Is Round

Millennials in America sometimes get a bad reputation, this time for good reason. A recent survey found that just 66 percent of young adults aged 18 to 24 years old have "always believed the world is round."

YouGov polled 8,215 US adults on February 8th, 2018 to get a representative idea of America's views on the shape of the Earth. What they found would make any scientist shake their heads, a surprising percentage of responders weren't convinced the Earth is round.

South Africans Threatening to Camp Until Cell Tower Was Removed Led to Its Removal from School Property

By B.N. Frank

There seems to be no shortage of people in the U.S. and around the world protesting cell towers on school property. It’s hard to blame them considering there is still no “safe” level of wireless radiation exposure that has been scientifically determined for children or pregnant women.

Hats off to these South Africans who were willing to take off work and camp out overnight in bad weather to protect their children...

Executive Order on Improving Free Inquiry, Transparency, and Accountability at Colleges and Universities

By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, it is hereby ordered as follows:

Section 1. Purpose. The purpose of this order is to enhance the quality of postsecondary education by making it more affordable, more transparent, and more accountable. Institutions of higher education (institutions) should be accountable both for student outcomes and for student life on campus.

In particular, my Administration seeks to promote free and open debate on college and university campuses. Free inquiry is an essential feature of our Nation’s democracy, and it promotes learning, scientific discovery, and economic prosperity. We must encourage institutions to appropriately account for this bedrock principle in their administration of student life and to avoid creating environments that stifle competing perspectives, thereby potentially impeding beneficial research and undermining learning.

The average college freshman in America reads at a 7th grade level

The average U.S. college freshman reads at a seventh grade level, according to an educational assessment report.

“We are spending billions of dollars trying to send students to college and maintain them there when, on average, they read at about the grade 6 or 7 level, according to Renaissance Learning’s latest report on what American students in grades 9-12 read, whether assigned or chosen,” said education expert Dr. Sandra Stotsky.

Stotsky, a Professor Emerita at the University of Arkansas, served on the Common Core Validation Committee in 2009-10, during which she called the standards “inferior.” She claimed the Common Core left out the very standards needed to prepare students for STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) careers.

Marxism, the Frankfurt School, and the Leftist Takeover of the College Campus

How did socialism become mainstream? Look no farther than modern-day socialism's roots: Marxism. When one observes the modern political scene occupied by the likes of Bernie Sanders and Kamala Harris, one observes nothing but modern-day Marxism. When one observes the modern-day college campus, one observes nothing but the Marxist-leftist indoctrination of America's youth.

When Marxism is considered, it is often viewed through an economic lens. Karl Marx's ideas of historical materialism, the exploitation of the proletariat by the bourgeoisie, and class-based division are staples of American collegiate academia. Any second-year university student, no matter his degree path, has already been taught from the enlightened minds of Marx and Engels. However, what if these ideas of Marxism go much deeper than mere economics? What if Marxist philosophy has extended to every facet of the American college campus?

Coercion Meets Its Match

Like the fabled spring zephyr came news that the Golden Golem of Greatness, (a.k.a. President Trump) signed an executive order that would withhold federal funding from colleges and universities that do not demonstrate support for free speech. It has been an amazement to behold the appalling, hypocritical suppression of the first amendment on campuses across the nation, with their ignoble speech codes, asinine safe spaces, sinister kangaroo courts, and racist anti-whiteness crusades.

Led by a Desire to Help the World, Jewish Politicians Take Charge in Colorado

Phil Weiser wants ALL Sheriffs who wont enforce Unconstitutional laws
to resign. We are headed for War! Thanks to these Bolsheviks.

As Democrats swept to power in Colorado this fall, many national headlines focused on Jared Polis becoming America's first openly gay governor as a point of increased diversity in the Centennial State. Joe Neguse's election as Colorado's first African-American congressman drew other such headlines.

But what traveled under the radar was the fact that several prominent Jewish candidates, including Polis, Griswold and Attorney General Phil Weiser, are the first Jews elected to constitutional statewide offices in Colorado's history.
