Video Shows School Resource Officer Handcuffing Third-Grader With ADHD

A school resource officer in Kentucky placed handcuffs on a third-grade boy with disabilities as he cried, according to a video released on Monday by the American Civil Liberties Union.

The ACLU released the video along with a lawsuit filed against the Kenton County Sheriff's Office in Covington, Ky., due to numerous incidents. The ACLU alleges that Kenton County Deputy Sheriff Kevin Sumner, a school resource officer, shackled an 8-year-old and a 9-year-old with their hands behind their backs. Both students have attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), according to the ACLU.

School Board Finally Gets Around to Suspending Teacher Who Duct-Taped Kindergartners’ Eyes Shut as Punishment

Well, the Hillsborough County School Board voted 6-0 last week to suspend Florida music teacher Lindsay Blanc after she was accused of duct-taping a kindergartner’s eyes shut as punishment at Potter Elementary School.

Apparently this is just something Ms. Blanc, 29, somehow thinks is okay to do to little kids. The Tampa Police Department interviewed 19 children and some of them told the cops they too were duct-taped by Blanc as punishment according to the police report. Others witnessed her doing it or threatening to, holding a roll of duct tape and saying the kids better behave or they would “get this”. Ms. Blanc also reportedly liked to terrorize the children with threats that they would be taken away in a “white van” if they didn’t do as they were told.

Ongoing monetary and banking reform communication with ~2,000 AP Econ teachers

*hyperlinks/video live at source*

Since 2009 I've been a Socratic voice for monetary and banking reforms to ~2,000 Advanced Placement Macroeconomics teachers on our discussion listserve. The status over the last six years is an occasional positive response, with a total of perhaps ten teachers in at least mild agreement, and occasional negative responses that I end with a few polite yet direct Socratic questions that demonstrate no substantiation to the negative argument. None of the negative ones or other colleagues follow-up with good questions to learn, only two have communicated to me privately in partnership, and zero colleagues have joined my voice on the listserve in any way pointing to reforms or admonishing colleagues to look at the game-changing data.

The Imperial Designs on Iran

So what is the Obama administration really up to in Iran? What sort of strategic calculations have led to what for the moment looks like a tactical geopolitical shift?

President Obama certainly concluded that the 36-year-long Wall of Mistrust against Iran was bound to fail. The real Masters of the Universe in Washington – those who control the deep state – always knew that the “nuclear weapons” hysteria was bogus. That was part of a strategic decision to keep the Islamic Republic isolated from the West as long as possible, and ultimately force regime change.

More parents turn to homeschooling: 62% increase in the last decade

More parents than ever before are choosing to homeschool their children, driving a movement that’s grown by 62 percent in the last decade.

The National Catholic Register reports that recent data from the U.S. Department of Education shows explosive growth in homeschooling among American families, particularly in the last 10 years, when the number of students between the ages of 5 and 17 went from 1.09 million in 2003 to 1.77 million in 2012.

Homeschooled students now represent about 3.4 percent of the school-age population, a percentage that’s increased significantly for a variety of reasons.

The first one would be to have them get an individualized education that meets the needs of each student; the second was that we were drawn to a classical curriculum; and the third would be flexibility in time with family,” Fredericksburg, Va. homeschool mother Christina Banks told the news site of her reasons for educating her children at home.

Webmaster's Commentary:

If Mike and I would have had kids, home schooling would most probably have been the way we would have gone.

Home schooled kids tend to score significantly higher on college entrance exams, and do better in college than do those who have attended public school.

NYC landlord tries to reduce damages payment by saying Latino toddler wouldn’t go to college anyway

A Federal judge rejected a Brooklyn landlord’s attempt to use a Latino child’s ethnicity to justify reducing his liability in a lead poisoning case, the New York Times reported.

Mark Kimpson’s attorney sought to reduce the $2 million awarded to the boy and his mother by a jury earlier this month, saying the child was less likely to attend college and earn a degree even if he had not been stricken by lead poisoning while living in the family’s Bedford-Stuyvesant apartment. Elevated levels of lead were found in his blood just after his first birthday.

Webmaster's Commentary:

That this attorney thought for one moment that this argument would be accepted by the judge reminds me of one of comedian Ron White's classic stand-up routine lines: "You can't fix stupid!"

Greek ‘Rescue’ is Berlin’s Tar Baby, Worse than WWI Reparations

By now it is clear that far from a sensible resolution of the relatively solvable Greek crisis, the agreement pushed on Greece above all by the Merkel coalition in Berlin, with the willing complicity of Greek Prime Minister Tsipras, is preprogrammed to not merely fail but also to detonate a tsunami of consequences which likely will begin the chaotic breakup of the European Monetary System and its Euro.

Audits Of Asset Forfeiture Program Uncover Funds Used To Pay Student Loans, Property Used As Rent-Free Housing

Student loan debt is a serious problem here in the US as the price of higher education continues to outpace every standard economic yard stick. Lots of people think the government should step in to do something about it. While the administration makes helpful noises and tries to figure out how it can effectively tell Americans it's alright to rack up debt and walk away from it without actually, you know, encouraging Americans to get deeply in debt and walk away from it, one government employee is taking the bold steps the US government won't to eradicate student loan debt… specifically, his.

Black Students In The U.S. Get Criminalized While White Students Get Treatment

When black and white kids act up or display troubling behavior at schools, teachers and administrators often address it with differing responses split along racial lines, new research shows.

Black students are more likely to be punished with suspensions, expulsions or referrals to law enforcement, a phenomenon that helps funnel kids into the criminal justice system. Meanwhile, white kids are more likely to be pushed into special education services or receive medical and psychological treatment for their perceived misbehaviors, according to a study released last week in the journal Sociology of Education.

Overall, this pattern often leads to the criminalization of young black students and the medicalization of white students.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is insane, and has to stop. Also, medicalizing kids, when what is needed is behaviour therapy, can cause grave consequences for these people down the road. And if you don't believe me, take a look at the following website:

www.ssristories.com

All of America's kids deserve a competitive, first class education. Asia and Scandinavia have incredibly good outcomes, and their kids have terrific scores in math, problem solving, and literature. So why doesn't the US?!?

I hate to say this, but believe absolutely that it is true: there is a real contempt in DC for people who can problem solve, and accurately analyze situations.

Independent thinkers are not encouraged, therefore you see the further dumbing down of our students with the infamous "Common Core" curriculum, which cripples kids' abilities to think logically.

When people are dumbed down and cowed by the ever more imperious state (including "threat assessments" on kids which follow them from pre-school through the 12th grade in some states), the US government believes at can throw any drivel at the American public in the hopes that because they cannot analyze or think critically, what the US government tells them will be accepted without question.

Calif. students now given six ‘gender identity’ choices on college admissions applications

Questions about gender identity and sexual orientation have been added to admissions applications used by the University of California system, including no less than six choices for students when checking off their “gender identity.”

One new question posed to those seeking admittance to the system – which educates 233,000 students enrolled in 10 campuses statewide – is “How do you describe yourself? (Mark one answer).”

The choices are: “male; female; trans male/trans man; trans female/trans woman; gender queer/gender non-conforming; and different identity.”

Israeli college in East Jerusalem bags $15 million of EU funds

The “earthquake” claim was made by an unnamed official who was widely quoted in the press. The official had voiced displeasure at new EU “guidelines” stating that the Union would not award subsidies to Israeli firms or institutions based in the occupied West Bank (including East Jerusalem).

I was skeptical of these guidelines. While Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu depicted them as an existential threat to Israel, my feeling was that they did little more than reiterate the EU’s official policies.

Because they did not seem to be accompanied by a proper monitoring system, I also felt that it would be easy for Israeli institutions or companies active in the West Bank to circumvent them.

The latest available data on Horizon 2020, the EU’s scientific research program, proves that my skepticism was well-founded.

Wolfgang Halbig and Sandy Hook: Trick or Treason?

Among the most curious aspects of the Sandy Hook event (which have puzzled many students)include the presence of a sign saying, "Everyone must check in!", Port-a-Potties, boxes of bottled water and pizza cartons in the Firehouse, name tags on lanyards and parents cheerfully bringing their children to the scene of (what was alleged to be) a child-shooting massacre. Wolfgang and his attorney were able to extract from Newtown First Selectman (which is an office), Patricia Llorda, that the sign had been placed there, not by the city, but by Homeland Security, which drew audible gasps from those who were present:

All of this, of course, is consistent with the FEMA manual for the event, which declares there will be a rehearsal on 13 December 2012, where the event will "go live" on 14 December, where it states (in the manual) that everyone must check in and that refreshments and restrooms will be provided. The reason Wolfgang has been unable to obtain information as innocuous as who had provided the Port-a-Potties is because it would have revealed that they were delivered on 13 December, the day before the alleged shooting, which would have thereby exposed the entire hoax. The FOIA hearings were therefore getting too close to the truth and had to be subverted, which was done by the attorney, Monte Frank, elected to Head the Connecticut Bar, which appears to be his reward for managing the cover-up:

6 Insane Educational Claims Published In Real Textbooks

School Threatens Parents That Pick Their Kids Up Late

Do you have kids? Do you have a job that you have to commute to? More importantly, do you have to drop your kids off at school every morning? I’m sure plenty of you are raising your hands right now. FBI raids Michigan Jewish college suspected of defrauding federal government

Federal agents raided the offices of a Jewish college that has prospered from millions of dollars in federal aid even though almost all its students live in Israel and hardly any of them graduate.

Federal officials declined to comment on the reason for the July 7 raid at Michigan Jewish Institute, in a suburb of Detroit.

But in 2012, the Forward showed how MJI’s assets soared as the college enrolled thousands of students in distance and online learning courses.

During a five-year period, MJI’s students claimed $25 million under the Federal Pell Grant Program, which is designed for the neediest American students.

Almost all those students took degree courses in Judaic studies at yeshivas and seminaries in Israel that they never completed.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I wonder if Hillary still thinks BDS is the big problem with colleges!

On a side note, the failure of these students to complete their courses underlines a common human trait; people do not respect or value things which they get for free. The more the American taxpayer showers all over Israel, the more disdainful of Americans' "generosity" Israel becomes!

Seattle 6th Graders Get Birth Control Implants Without Parental Consent

You would think that parents would have the final say over their children’s health, but in America, that’s simply not the case anymore. The government has its own agenda for your kids, and if you don’t like it, tough. They’re not really your kids anymore. They belong to the state.

Especially if you live in Seattle, Washington. CNS news recently reported that 13 school clinics in Seattle offer free birth control implants to their students, such as IUDs. What’s more alarming though, is the fact that these implants can be given without informing the parents of any child who is in at least 6th grade.

For students at for-profit colleges, wrong mix of loans can be toxic

Kimberly Garrison has been struggling with her student loans for a full decade. Unable to land a job with her computer networking associate’s degree, the Homestead woman missed payments, which led to her wages being garnished — about $700 per month. When Garrison received an inheritance after the death of her grandmother, she put the full $10,000 toward her loan debt, she says, in hopes of getting it under control.

Still, the $35,168 she borrowed from 2003 to 2005 to attend the Miami campus of ITT Tech has grown to $62,030.
