EVERGREEN STATE FACULTY TURN ON BRET WEINSTEIN, SAY HE ‘ENDANGERED’ STUDENTS

A letter was sent Friday to students by the faculty at Evergreen State College, saying they stand behind the protesters and wish to pursue disciplinary action against Professor Brett Weinstein.

The Oregon college of about 4,000 students erupted in protests last week after Weinstein, a leftwing biology professor, told student activists he did not agree with their “Day of Absence” plans. The Day of Absence is usually conducted by students of color leaving the campus for the day, to bring awareness to their presence and issues. This year, however, student activists wanted all white students and faculty to leave for the day. Weinstein, who supported the former Days of Absence, called this year’s plan an act of oppression.

The blowup was highly publicized by the media, and the campus was shut down yesterday and today due to a man calling local police, threatening to shoot up the school.

Webmaster's Commentary:

"Endangering students" by not agreeing to their demands that no Caucasians be allowed on campus for the "Day of Absence"?!?

When in Sam Hill did college education get so messed up?!?

And before ANYONE accuses me of "racism", etc., etc., let me remind you that I graduated from Cal States Dominguez Hills (Compton-adjacent), and we had a "rainbow college community" which just got along beautifully, because we all had our eyes of the prize of a college education which would better our opportunities for work, once we graduated.

And it didn't matter that we were this crazy quilt pastiche of Asians, Hispanics, African-Americans, and...people who looked like me.

Weinstein will probably lose tenure, and get fired, for making what, I think, is a reasonable observation about this "Day of Absence".

And that is a bloody shame; and I say this, because no problem in society, even in college, can be resolved, without all of us, working to make this world a better place, together as a team, no matter what our ethnic background may be.

EPIC FAIL: EVERY STUDENT FLUNKS STATE EXAM

In an astonishing outcome, an investigation of six Baltimore schools found not a single student passed the state’s proficiency test in the subjects of math and English.

Five high schools and one middle school were surveyed in a probe by Baltimore’s Fox TV affiliate, which spotlighted one school in which 89 percent of the students had the lowest score on a scale of 5.

Scores of 4 or 5 indicate proficiency with the subject, but at Frederick Douglass High School, only one student got as high as a 3 on his state exam.

POLICE CALLED TO ESCORT PRO-ISRAEL ACTIVISTS FROM UC IRVINE CAMPUS EVENT

A group of IDF reservists had to be escorted out of a Students Supporting Israel speaking event by police following a large protest by pro-Palestinian students at the University of California, Irvine, last week.

The army veterans were visiting the campus as part of Project Gideon – an initiative of Reservists on Duty, an anti-BDS group in Israel in collaboration with the Lone Soldier Center – which enlists American IDF reservists to fight against BDS on university and college campuses across North America.

For four straight days this past May, a group of Israel Defense Forces (IDF) soldiers called “Reservists On Duty” harassed University of California, Irvine (UCI) students at their mock apartheid wall. This occurred in full view of administrators who took no action to protect students from foreign military agents. When students complained, they were told that nothing could be done.

Why Does the Chicago Public School System Have $9 Billion in Debt With Only 381,000 Students ?

Chicago Public Schools will look to borrow $900 million in the coming weeks — adding to the district’s $9 billion debt — but it remains unclear if anyone will actually give them all the money.

The loans are $500 million more than what Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s office announced last week when a financial rescue plan was outlined. That’s because the district is looking for loans not only to get through this school year, but also to start off next year with a financial cushion.

District officials told board members Wednesday that the district would likely “just run out of money” if it didn’t take out these loans.

Teen banned from graduation 'not because she is pregnant but because she was immoral'

A small Christian school in western Maryland is not backing down from its decision to ban a pregnant senior from walking at graduation next week.

In a letter to parents Tuesday evening, school principal David Hobbs said that Runkles is being disciplined, "not because she is pregnant but because she was immoral. ... The best way to love her right now is to hold her accountable for her morality that began this situation."

16-Year-Old Commits Suicide After School Cop Threatens Him with Child Porn Charges

It took school and police officials just a few minutes to extinguish 16-year-old Corey Walgren's promising future. All they did was utter two words: child pornography.

Corey, a junior at Naperville North High School in Naperville, Illinois, was a perfectly normal, social, good-looking 16-year-old. He was an honor roll student with dreams of attending a Big Ten college. He had typical interests for a teenager boy: hockey, fishing, and, yes, girls.

Corey committed suicide in January, just hours after a school resource officer confronted him about an alleged illegal item on his cell phone—a recording of Corey having sex with a female classmate. The girl had informed a dean at the school that she believed Corey had played the recording for his friends (it's not clear whether he did), which prompted the authorities to summon Corey to the principal's office. They called his mother and told both of them that Corey was being investigated for possession of child pornography.

What if Harry Potter Is Real?

his course will engage students with questions about the very nature of history. Who decides what history is? Who decides how it is used or mis-used? How does this use or misuse affect us? How can the historical imagination inform literature and fantasy? How can fantasy reshape how we look at history? The Harry Potter novels and films are fertile ground for exploring all of these deeper questions. By looking at the actual geography of the novels, real and imagined historical events portrayed in the novels, the reactions of scholars in all the social sciences to the novels, and the world-wide frenzy inspired by them, students will examine issues of race, class, gender, time, place, the uses of space and movement, the role of multiculturalism in history as well as how to read a novel and how to read scholarly essays to get the most out of them.

Segregated: White Students Banned From Student Lounge At D.C. University: “Nothing More Important Than Being A Multicultural Campus”

For over half a century Americans have enjoyed equal protection under the law, regardless of the color of their skin. These were rights that countless citizens of all colors fought for since long before the civil war.

We have made leaps and bounds in the way of creating a society that respects the religious and cultural backgrounds of all of our citizens.

We even elected a President of African American descent, something that would not have been possible without the support of voters of all colors and creeds.

Yet, it appears that all of that “progress” has led to this…

"It's Absurd" - 6 Baltimore Schools Have Zero Students Proficient In State Math, English Tests

Baltimore schools spend a staggering $16,00 per student - the fourth-highest rate in the nation - and still an investigation by Fox45's Project Baltimore revealed that at six city schools, not one student scored proficient on either the statewide tests for English and math.

At West Baltimore's Frederick Douglass High, one of five high schools and one middle school where not one student scored a four or a five on the state test, only one out of 185 students who took the test last year scored a three, while 165 students scored a one, the lowest possible score.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The only conclusion to which I can come, looking at these numbers, is that the dumbing down of American urban kids continues apace; and there is part of me that wonders how deliberate that is.

Because when kids are illiterate and innumerate, and cannot function, they have to become dependents of the state, for food, housing, and welfare.

People like this will never have an independent thought in their lives, and are easily manipulated to swallow and regurgitate anything the State tells them, no matter how logically absurd.

Anyone who ever saw the film "Stand and Deliver", based on a true-life story, where a high school math teacher in an urban high school, pushed his kids to be the best in math, and enter a competition, and go on to work at very high levels in math, understands how Baltimore's schools are failing their students.

Parents should be voting with their feet, and get their kids out of that city, and school district, and ASAP, if they have any aspirations of their kids achieving and accomplishing anything in their lives.

US News Desperate Parents Pull Children Out of School Over Fears of MS-13 Gang

Schools have become the crucible for intimidation and recruitment into the Mara Salvatrucha, or MS-13, gang on Long Island and around the country.

One Long Island mother, who wanted to remain anonymous for fear of reprisal from MS-13, said she and several other parents have taken their teenagers out of the local high school because they’ve become targets of the gang. Some children are being homeschooled and, in a few extreme cases, sent to stay with relatives out of the state.

“I am scared to death,” the mother said. “It’s a crapshoot. I feel like we’re rolling the dice here, and it shouldn’t be like this.”

Parents and children in Brentwood and Central Islip barely had time to comprehend the shocking murders of two teenage girls last September before four young men were found killed last month.

All six victims had been brutally murdered with baseball bats and machetes—the modus operandi of the MS-13 gang, which has proliferated in the area in recent years.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is a nasty situation for parents who want to see their kids achieve and excel in school; not get killed by a gang member

My sympathy is absolutely with them on this issue.

And in light of the fact that the city, county, state are impotent to correct the problem, taking their kids out of school and literally out of state may be the best option for them right now.

Segregated: White Students Banned From Student Lounge At D.C. University: “Nothing More Important Than Being A Multicultural Campus”

As tolerance spreads across the United States, universities and their progressive student bodies are coming up with new and innovative ways to ensure a positive multi-cultural experience for everyone… unless you happen to be a Caucasian.

At the American University in Washington, D.C., which is home to about 13,000 of our best and brightest, administrators and student activists have determined that the best way to ensure a a fair and equal environment is to ban all white people from their new student lounge. The meeting area, ironically named “The Bridge,” opened a couple of months ago as a place for people to gather, study and even sing on open mic nights.

But shortly after its opening, the following sign, apparently with the blessing of school administrators, appeared around campus. It designates the new lounge as a safe space and sanctuary for people of color.

In short: No Whites Allowed.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Sheer Lunacy on Campus

Americans who see themselves as either liberal or conservative should rise up against this totalitarian trend on America’s college campuses. Sheer Lunacy on Campus

To reduce angst among snowflakes in its student body, the University of California, Hastings College of the Law has added a “Chill Zone.” The Chill Zone, located in its library, has, just as most nursery schools have, mats for naps and beanbag chairs. Before or after a snooze, students can also use the space to do a bit of yoga or meditate. The University of Michigan Law School helped its students weather their Trump derangement syndrome — a condition resulting from Donald Trump’s election — by enlisting the services of an “embedded psychologist” in a room full of bubbles and play dough. To reduce pressure on law students, Joshua M. Silverstein, a law professor at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, thinks that “every American law school ought to substantially eliminate C grades and set its good academic standing grade point average at the B- level.”
