Bye Bye, Underwood: Hollywood Reels Under Onslaught of Sex Scandals

A string of sex scandals that rocked the US this year has taken its toll on the Dream Factory’s creations as Hollywood stars fall while movies and TV series get cancelled.

Netflix has already announced that the sixth season of House of Cards TV won’t be featuring the series’ villainous protagonist Frank Underwood played by Kevin Spacey who was recently accused of sexual harassment.

This development however has not been the only example of accusations of sexual misconduct effectively torpedoing the careers of movie stars and resulting in cancelled projects.

Harvey Weinstein, Sabbatai Zevi and Tikun Olam

The Daily Mail reports that “disgraced Harvey Weinstein believes he is a saviour who was born to 'change the world' by taking the fall for sexual assaults.”

Sources close to the shamed producer said he has resigned himself to being punished over the allegations 'as a martyr for social change.’

Weinstein could be seen as a a follower of Rabbi Sabbatai Zevi, who declared himself the Messiah in 1666. Zevi proclaimed that redemption was available through acts of sin and he amassed a following of over one million passionate believers, about half the world's Jewish population during the 17th century. The shift from total sinner into the new messiah figure was certainly rapid for serial predator Weinstein. But this shouldn’t take us by surprise. Weinstein's regard for himself as a ‘martyr for social change’ is consistent with Tikun Olam – the misguided Jewish belief that it is down to the Jews to repair the world.

Arrest warrant out for Rose McGowan: Weinstein accuser wanted for drug possession, as actress suggests it wouldn't have happened if she'd taken producer's 'hush money'

Police say the items tested positive for narcotics, but they did not reveal what type of drugs they were. The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Police Department obtained the warrant on February 1.

Police say they've attempted to contact McGowan so she can appear in a Loudoun County, Virginia, court.

The warrant has been entered into a national law enforcement database.
McGowan had not released a statement regarding the warrant as of Monday night.

But she simply tweeted 'FACT' early Tuesday morning in a retweet suggesting that if she had 'taken the million dollars in hush money' from Weinstein, the warrant would not have been issued and not been a news story.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is exact same playbook they did on Corey (hollywood pedo whistleblower a week ago!)

Rose McGowan facing arrest warrant for alleged drug possession

An arrest warrant was issued Monday for actress Rose McGowan for alleged felony possession of a controlled substance on a flight earlier this year, police said.

McGowan, who has been one of the leading voices against sexual harassment in Hollywood, faces a felony charge after police said an investigation revealed that her personal belongings left behind on a United flight back in January tested positive for narcotics.

McGowan claimed Monday in a tweet that the warrant was an attempt to “silence” her.

Harveywood Backlash Sinks George Clooney: ‘Suburbicon’ Opens to Humiliating $3 Million

Even the estimates of a $7 million to $10 million opening weekend for Suburbicon felt generous. And were they ever. Despite a ton of publicity and placement on over 2,000 screens, George Clooney’s embarrassing attempt at being a third Coen brother went down in flames. Placing in ninth(!) place, Deadline projects a devastating opening weekend of just $3 million.

Also going down in flames is Thank You for Your Service, which was written and directed by Jason Hall, whose other claim to fame this weekend is a prominent place in part two of Patrick Courrielche’s outstanding Tinseltown Travelogue (part three publishes Sunday). Let us just say that Mr. Hall finds some wars-on-women more equal than others.

Director James Toback claims 'anyone' who calls him a sexual predator is a 'c**ksucker' or a 'c**t' and says he wants to 'spit in his or her f**king face'

Film director James Toback lashed out at those that have accused him of sexually harassing women in the foulest terms possible just before allegations about him hit the media..

'The idea that I would offer a part to anyone for any other reason than that he or she was gonna be the best of anyone I could find is so disgusting to me,' Toback, 72, told Rolling Stone days before 38 women accused him of sexual assault.

Corey Feldman Told Cops the Names of Abusers, It Was Recorded & Police Did Nothing

Yesterday, Feldman launched a campaign to raise money to expose the monsters who abused him as a child. Immediately after he asked for money, some folks on the internet lashed out claiming that Feldman is simply trying to grab cash. These folks claimed that Feldman should just name his abusers and bring them down instead of wasting money on a movie.

However, it is not that simple. In 1993, Feldman did name his abusers. He told the police he was molested. He told them who molested him and they did nothing because they were too focused on trying to find dirt on Michael Jackson.

During the 1993 accusations against Michael Jackson by Jordy Chandler and his family, police were so focused on Jackson that they ignored Feldman’s bombshell admission and information.

This admission was even recorded by police. However, when it was publicly released by the Hollywoodtabloid RadarOnline.com, the names Feldman gave were scrubbed from the audio.

How Harvey Weinstein Used His Book Imprint to Cover His Tracks

But in other ways, Weinstein did undermine the book. Even though foreign rights were sold in about nine countries, the manuscript was never released in England. Pine suspects it was because Harvey was dating second wife-to-be Georgina Chapman, who lived in London, and he didn’t want her to see it. And when the book started picking up sales right as the Weinsteins were negotiating funding for their post-Disney venture, The Weinstein Company, the publisher pulled the plug on any more publicity. Her book publicist told her, “You can’t repeat this, but Harvey basically told us to stop working on it.”

Hollywood Crumbles as Oscar-Winning Director Suggests Cover-Up of Widespread Pedophilia

In the wake of the public revelations regarding movie mogul Harvey Weinstein’s repeated sexual abuse and misconduct, Oscar-winning writer-director Paul Haggis has now come forward to suggest that Hollywood is still covering up credible and serious allegations of pedophilia.

While being interviewed by The Guardian over the weekend, Haggis intimated that although there has been much said about Hollywood’s treatment of women – the open secret of widespread pedophilia being commonplace in Tinseltown should not be forgotten.

Haggis noted that many former child actors, such as Corey Haim and Corey Feldman, have come forward to allege being molested and raped by heavy-hitters in the movie industry.

Using YouTube Takedowns As Extortion

We've made this point over and over again: if you give people the power to force down someone else's content, it will be abused. We see this most clearly in things like DMCA takedown notices, which are rife with abuse -- either through automated takedowns or just by people who want certain things to disappear. But here's a variation we haven't seen quite as much: DMCA abuse as extortion. This story involves musician/composer Keitaro Ujile who variously goes by Ujico* and Snail's House and who has a pretty big following. As an aside, he describes his electronic music as "Happy Music" and, damn, is it ever. I've been listening to it while writing this post, and you can too at Soundcloud, Bandcamp or... YouTube.

Hollywood Ending: Big Studios Cutting Losses This Weekend, Pulling Flops From Theaters Earlier Than Usual

It’s a bizarre season in Hollywood. Almost nothing is “working,” and the studios can’t afford to waste any more money hoping things will turn around. They’re pulling flops from theaters earlier than usual.
This weekend, for example, Warner Bros. is putting out a white flag on “Blade Runner” after three tough weeks. They’ve cut the number of theaters showing Denis Villeneuve’s beautiful film by 855. So far, “Blade Runner” has made just $66 million. Audiences have not clamored to it. And now, week by week, Warners will quietly take it away.

British Musician Takes On Vaccine Issues With A Musical Video

By Catherine J. Frompovich

Isn’t there something dramatically and incongruously wrong about such a deliberate refusal to stop medical child abuse perpetrated upon infants, toddlers and teens by federal, state and local health agencies with apparent greased lightning support of advertising and lobbying from Big Pharma to extol vaccines as safe and effective?

Ann Coulter: Weinstein's Pimps: Revenge of The Ugly Girls

According to Ronan Farrow's comprehensive article in The New Yorker, "(m)ultiple sources" told him how Weinstein bragged that he could use his allies in the press to crush anyone who crossed him.

Longtime editor Tina Brown -- ironically, one of Weinstein's erstwhile clean-up gals -- told Charlie Rose: "What I found really unsettling was how many journalists, frankly, were on his payroll. I mean, you know, Harvey would have everyone on his payroll. All the people at the (New York) Post and people in all the tabloids, people writing stuff, entertainment writers, gossip writers."

I knew the gossip pages were written by PR agents, but I didn't realize they were written by sexual predators, too. I was curious about exactly who was protecting Harvey and, luckily, I have a Nexis account. The full list would take me well over my word limit, so this column will focus on the tabloid most slavishly devoted to protecting Weinstein's good name: the New York Post.

Bombshell: Longtime Clinton Friend Admits ‘Warning’ Top-Level Democrats About Weinstein

Linda Bloodworth-Thomason, the creator of the iconic 90s sitcom Designing Women and a close friend for decades of Bill and Hillary Clinton, admits that she not only knew of producer Harvey Weinstein’s predations, but that she warned “top-level” Democrats about him.
Buried deep within a Hollywood Reporter guest column, Bloodworth-Thomason drops this bombshell (with a deflecting shot at Fox News): “I confess to having had no problem warning at least three top-level Democratic operatives against allowing Harvey Weinstein to host political fundraisers. A warning that evidently (and to the glee of Fox News) fell on deaf ears.”

She also says she was a member of “a ‘Let’s Bring Harvey Weinstein Down’ lunch club” and appears to express some disbelief towards those who, “despite knowing him for decades,” now “announce they had no idea what was going on.”

To this, she writes, “OK. Whatever.”

Why it's also hard for Hollywood's men to talk about being sexually assaulted

The Harvey Weinstein scandal has opened up a dialogue of epic proportions surrounding issues of sexual assault and harassment, with numerous women in Hollywood speaking up to tell their stories. They’ve been joined by a small chorus of men who shared that they, too, had been victims of sexual assault and harassment, perpetrated by men of power in the industry.

The discussion began with Terry Crews, when the actor and former NFL star took to Twitter to share how the Weinstein news was giving him PTSD. Why? “My wife n I were at a Hollywood function last year n a high level Hollywood executive came over 2 me and groped my privates,” Crews explained in a series of tweets.

Weinstein Sex Scandal May Destroy Michael Moore And Quentin Tarantino

The Weinstein Company owns the rights to Moore’s upcoming anti-Trump documentary Fahrenheit 11/9. The documentary uses a play on Moore’s previous success, Fahrenheit 9/11 which criticized President Bush and the War on Terror.

Without the Weinstein Company’s financial backing, the film could fizzle out, as several of Moore’s recent documentaries have done anyway.

Moore was looking forward to a promising theatrical release for his latest film next month. Now, it looks as if the film will have a limited audience if it’s even released at all.

According to court records, journalist John Lichfield, who works for London’s Independent, discovered that the prostitution agency routinely ensnared girls as young as 15, forcing them to have sex with Hollywood’s rich and powerful elite.

Of course the mainstream media did everything they could to cover up for Hollywood favorite Robert De Niro. His regular dealings with the brothel, proved by court documents, received little to no media coverage.

Jennifer Lawrence reveals she once had to do a naked casting line-up and the producer deemed her 'fuckable'

Inspired by the women in Hollywood who have been sharing their experiences of sexual harassment over the past couple of weeks, Jennifer Lawrence has recounted a "degrading and humiliating" casting process that saw her asked to take part in a nude line-up with other actresses, the producers' subsequent comments now being about her suitability for the role but her weight and "fuckability".

Discussing the early years of her career, she said during a speech at Elle's 'Women in Hollywood' event on Monday night: "During this time a female producer had me do a nude line-up with about five women who were much, much, thinner than me.

"We are stood side-by-side with only tape covering our privates. After that degrading and humiliating line-up, the female producer told me I should use the naked photos of myself as inspiration for my diet."

Screenwriter close to Weinstein calls out Hollywood: 'Everybody f**king knew'

If you've tired of hearing Hollywood A-listers feign shock while sending proverbial "thoughts and prayers" to Harvey Wesintein's sexual assault victims, you're not alone.

Scott Rosenberg, a screenwriter (Beautiful Girls, Con Air, High Fidelity) who worked closely with Weinstein and Co. for a little under a decade, has had enough of the bullshit, too. And he's saying something not too many people in the industry are saying right now: "I am sorry."

"Everybody fucking knew," he wrote (not once, not twice, but three times) in a lyrical, near novella-length Facebook response to those shrinking away from responsibility in enabling Weinstein's behavior.

Hollywood's general unwillingness to face the music of personal accountability for the rot in their own industry added insult to injury in the onslaught of allegations. Because those (seemingly) well-meaning yet spineless responses only ensure one thing: that this will keep happening.

Kate Winslet’s shameful hypocrisy over Weinstein, Polanski and Woody Allen is why I don’t believe morally repugnant Hollywood will ever change

So forgive me if I’m not massively convinced by Tinsel Town’s panicky little bout of ethical house cleaning.

In fact, the whole on-going torrent of nauseating hypocrisy surrounding the Weinstein scandal makes me puke.

It’s epitomized by British actress Kate Winslet, who is suddenly very, VERY keen for all of us to know exactly how far she went to stand up to Weinstein.

Winslet, 42, told the LA Times she deliberately refused to thank him when she won an Oscar in 2009 for starring in his movie The Reader.

I remember being told, “Make you sure you thank Harvey if you win”,’ she recounted. ‘And I remember turning around and saying, ‘”No, I won’t. I won’t.” And it was nothing to do with not being grateful. If people aren’t well-behaved, why would I thank him?’

Lest we be in any doubt as to what happened, Ms Winslet emphasised:
‘That was deliberate. That was absolutely deliberate.’

I think we get the drift, Kate.

They’re All In It Together – Weinstein Paid for Bill Clinton’s Legal Fees During His Sex Abuse Scandal

When Bill Clinton was at the height of the Monica Lewinsky sex scandal, Hollywood was by his side, offering donations for his legal fees, and one significant donor was a man who is now going through his own sex scandal—Harvey Weinstein.

More than 20 women have publicly accused Weinstein of sexual harassment, sexual assault or rape. After the New York Times and the New Yorker published in-depth stories detailing the testimonies of women who have been abused by Weinstein—and in many cases, paid off with airtight non-disclosure agreements—the stories have continued to come to light.
