As Media Labels Fukushima a ‘Conspiracy Theory’, Radiation Soars to Record Level

Radiation levels inside Fukushima Number 2 have reached astronomical levels — experts describe the 530 sieverts per hour as “unimaginable” — yet the political establishment and its corporate media mouthpiece insist on deeming those concerned about the catastrophe ‘conspiracy theorists.’

TV Reporter: “Woah! Dead whales!” Record high number of deaths in Hawaii — “Carcasses scattered throughout islands” in Pacific — Sick and starving animals a ‘mystery’ to experts — “Possible health effects” from Fukushima radiation off coast

KGMB, Jan 17, 2017 (emphasis added): Officials investigate record number of humpback whale deaths… Six humpback whale carcasses have washed up onto Hawaii shores since November. That’s double the number typically found in a season, which runs from November to May… The previous record [of five] whale carcasses found in Hawaii waters was in 2013… Biologists aren’t sure what’s behind the increase in deaths. “It is higher than usual. It’s almost double this early in the season for what we’d get in a whole season,” said [NOAA's] David Schofield… Since November, whale carcasses have been scattered throughout the main Hawaiian islands… Biologists are investigating to see if the whales starved or if there’s a problem with the ocean’s health… officials will be meeting with partners in Alaska and Washington D.C. to investigate further.

TEPCO operator: ‘Radiation levels of up to 530 Sieverts per hour now in Reactor 2’

In the T?hoku region on the island of Honshu lies the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant which was decimated by a large tsunami which formed following the T?hoku earthquake which struck on March 11, 2011. The damage was so great that the entire region was listed as a radioactive zone. As of Thursday radiation levels reached ” 530 Sieverts per hour” inside of Reactor No. 2.

Japan Declare Crisis As Fukushima Reactor May Fall Into Ocean

Scientists at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant in Japan have declared a state of emergency as one of the reactors is on the verge of falling into the ocean.

Lethal levels of radiation have been detected around the site which scientists say stems from a hole caused by melted nuclear fuel.

RECORD HIGH FATAL RADIATION LEVELS, HOLE IN REACTOR DETECTED AT CRIPPLED FUKUSHIMA NUCLEAR FACILITY

Record high radiation levels that’s lethal even after brief exposure have been detected at a damaged reactor at the Fukushima power plant in Japan. Specialists also found a hole, likely caused by melted nuclear fuel.
Radiation levels of up to 530 Sieverts per hour were detected inside an inactive Reactor 2 at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear complex damaged during the 2011 earthquake and tsunami catastrophe, Japanese media reported on Thursday citing the plant operator, Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO).

A dose of about 8 Sieverts is considered incurable and fatal.

A hole of no less than one square meter in size has also been discovered beneath the reactor's pressure vessel, TEPCO said. According to researchers, the apparent opening in the metal grating of one of three reactors that had melted down in 2011, is believed to be have been caused by melted nuclear fuel that fell through the vessel.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Clearly, there is uncontrolled fission going on underneath the ruined reactors.

With all the incredibly shabby and value-engineering done on this plant TEPCO has come very close to having created an ELE here (an "extinction level event"); and both TEPCO and the Japanese government are impotent to stop the damage.

And what is the rest of the world's leadership doing?!? Ignoring it as though this hasn't happened at all, no matter how many people are going to die from this.

In my world, every TEPCO official and Japanese government official who signed off on the horrific design flaws in this plant should be charged with irreversible world endangerment, and probably spend the rest of their miserable lives in prisons run by the Yakuza.

Unfortunately, however, the execs at TEPCO and Japanese government officials live in the world of monied privilege, and that means never having to take responsibility for the results of their actions.

23 US Nuclear Plants use same GE Fukushima reactors

With residents of western North America in a near panic over reports of ever-increasing radiation from Fukushima, critics have shifted their complaints to something even more feared. Some are accusing the Obama administration of downplaying the dangers from Japan in order to avoid the fact that 23 reactors in the US are the same allegedly faulty General Electric model that failed in Fukushima.

US hit with sudden spikes of rare radioactive material from Fukushima — Has 15.7 Million year half life — “Orders of magnitude” rise in levels on West Coast — Much higher amounts than were detected near Fukushima plant just after 3/11

This paper presents the results of an experimental study we performed by using the Accelerator Mass Spectrometry (AMS) method with iodine 129 (Halflife = 15.7 Million years], to determine the increase of the radionuclide content in the USA West Pacific Coast waters, two years after the March 2011 Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant accident… The results of the experiments showed a significant increase of the radionuclide concentration during the late spring of 2013. Compared to the isotopic ratio 129I/127I, measured at a 40 km distance, offshore of Fukushima and immediately after the accident, our results show an increase on the USA West Coast that was more than a 2.5 factor higher. Also, compared with the pre-Fukushima background values [in San Diego], our results show an isotopic ratio of about two orders of magnitude higher…

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is poised to issue guidelines that would set radiation limits for drinking water during the “intermediate period” after the releases from a radioactive emergency, such as an accident at a nuclear power plant, have been brought under control. The emergency limits would allow the public to be exposed to radiation levels hundreds and even thousands of times higher than typically allowed by federal law.

FIRST THYROID CANCER CASE IN JAPAN RECOGNIZED AS FUKUSHIMA-RELATED & COMPENSATED BY GOVT

A man who worked at the Fukushima nuclear power plant in Japan during the disastrous 2011 meltdown has had his thyroid cancer recognized as work-related. The case prompted the government to finally determine its position on post-disaster compensation.

The unnamed man, said to be in his 40s, worked at several nuclear power plants between 1992 and 2012 as an employee of Tokyo Electric Power Company Holdings Inc. He was present at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant during the March 11, 2011 meltdown. Three years after the disaster, he was diagnosed with thyroid gland cancer, which the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare confirmed on Friday as stemming from exposure to radiation.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It is only reasonable that this this man getting compensated, although his death sentence from cancer will not be stayed; but what about Americans getting sick, and potentially developing cancer, from eating radioactive fish from Fukushima?!?

Fukushima nuclear decommission, compensation costs to almost double: media

Japan's trade ministry has almost doubled the estimated cost of compensation for the 2011 Fukushima nuclear disaster and decommissioning of the damaged Fukushima-Daiichi nuclear plant to more than 20 trillion yen ($177.51 billion), the Nikkei business daily reported on Sunday.

The trade ministry at the end of 2013 calculated the cost at 11 trillion yen, which was comprised of 5.4 trillion yen for compensation, 2.5 trillion yen for decontamination, 1.1 trillion yen for an interim storage facility for contaminated soil, and 2 trillion yen for decommissioning, the report said.

The new estimate raised the cost of compensation to 8 trillion yen and decontamination to 4-5 trillion yen, the cost for an interim storage facility remained steady, and decommissioning will rise by several trillion yen, it added.

Tsunami warning issued after massive 7.3-magnitude earthquake strikes off Fukushima in Japan

An earthquake of magnitude 7.3 struck early on Tuesday, local time, off the Japanese coast, some 67 km northeast of Iwaki, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The USGS reported the quake with a depth of 10 km struck about 6am and tsunami waves began to hit Japan's Pacific coast about 7am.

The epicentre of the quake is near Fukushima, where an earthquake in 2011 caused a nuclear plant to have a meltdown.

Tsunami waves are estimated to reach three metres tall in areas on Tuesday.

Fukushima Forests, Dubbed ‘Radiation Reservoirs,’ Are Full of Mutated Life Forms

Five years after the earthquake-triggered events that led to the meltdown of three reactors at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant in Japan, significant levels of radiation remain in the area – particularly in the forests near the disaster site.

The Japanese government has been attempting to clean up the radiation in the villages near the plant so that they can be repopulated, but so far, the surrounding countryside has been left alone, based on the advice of the Atomic Energy Commission.

The cleanup efforts have greatly reduced the amount of radiation in the villages, but according to a new report published by Greenpeace that was based in part on several peer-reviewed studies, the forests near the plant have become "radiation reservoirs," where radiation-induced mutations are now appearing in several plant and animal species.

In Cold Blood

Russians aren’t worried about the forthcoming war. There is neither panic nor fear, just cool stoic acceptance of whatever comes. This week, some forty million people participated in a huge civil defence exercise. Shelters of Moscow and other cities have been aired and repaired. They do not want war, but if it comes, it will be met. The Russians have fought many wars against the West; they never started a war, but invariably fought to the finish.

An American attack on Syrian or Russian bases in Syria could be a starting point for the avalanche. I am truly amazed by the Russian spirits: they are considerably higher than they were in the days of Korean war, of Vietnam war or the Cuban crisis. Then, they were scared of war and ready for sacrifices to avoid MAD. Not anymore.

Fukushima Radiation Has Contaminated The Entire Pacific Ocean – And It’s Going To Get Worse

Waking Times Media

What was the most dangerous nuclear disaster in world history? Most people would say the Chernobyl nuclear disaster in Ukraine, but they’d be wrong. In 2011, an earthquake, believed to be an aftershock of the 2010 earthquake in Chile, created a tsunami that caused a meltdown at the TEPCO nuclear power plant in Fukushima, Japan. Three nuclear reactors melted down and what happened next was the largest release of radiation into the water in the history of the world. Over the next three months, radioactive chemicals, some in even greater quantities than Chernobyl, leaked into the Pacific Ocean. However, the numbers may actually be much higher as Japanese official estimates have been proven by several scientists to be flawed in recent years.

Nuclear accident in New Mexico ranks among the costliest in U.S. history

When a drum containing radioactive waste blew up in an underground nuclear dump in New Mexico two years ago, the Energy Department rushed to quell concerns in the Carlsbad desert community and quickly reported progress on resuming operations.

The early federal statements gave no hint that the blast had caused massive long-term damage to the dump, a facility crucial to the nuclear weapons cleanup program that spans the nation, or that it would jeopardize the Energy Department’s credibility in dealing with the tricky problem of radioactive waste.

But the explosion ranks among the costliest nuclear accidents in U.S. history, according to a Times analysis. The long-term cost of the mishap could top $2 billion, an amount roughly in the range of the cleanup after the 1979 partial meltdown at the Three Mile Island nuclear power plant in Pennsylvania.

Zombie radiation: Fukushima's poisonous fallout eating entire chunks of peoples' brains away, reaching California coast

The Spanish newspaper, El Pais Semanal, reported back in May that Toru Anzai, 63, a former resident of Litate, Japan, a village in the Fukushima Prefecture, suffered a major heart attack and stroke several years after the reactor meltdowns. During Anzai's stay in the hospital, doctors realized that the frontal lobe of his brain had developed a hole, which they told him may have been caused by absorbing the radioactive isotope cesium, which was prevalent at Fukushima.

The hole in Anzai's brain caused the entire left side of his body to become paralyzed – this, despite the fact that following the reactor meltdowns Anzai was told that there was no risk of radiation. As it turns out, a dosimeter reading taken on April 18, just days after the Fukushima disaster, revealed that the room where Anzai and his brothers had been sleeping saw radiation levels up to 20 times higher than the threshold level established by the Japanese government for relocating residents.

Hanford Fire Department worker tests positive for radioactive contamination

A worker at the Hanford Fire Station has tested positive for internal radioactive contamination at a very low level.

The exposure occurred after breathing equipment used at the nuclear reservation’s Plutonium Finishing Plant was sent to the station for storage, according to the Department of Energy.

Of 150 workers at the Hanford Fire Department, 104 have requested tests of their bodily fluid to determine if they also may have been exposed.

Molten fuel at the bottom of Fukushima reactor

A probe using an X-ray-like detector has found that a large amount of melted nuclear fuel apparently remains at the bottom of one of the damaged reactors at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant.

Plant operator Tokyo Electric Power Company released images of the No. 2 reactor on Thursday. They were taken with a device that uses elementary particles called muons.

Pokemon GO-ZILLA: Safety fears after monsters appear in Fukushima danger zone

Japan's Tokyo Electric Power Co is upset that Pokemon Go players on the hunt for monsters are being lured into the Fukushima Nuclear Exclusion Zone.

The fictional creatures were apparently spotted close to the destroyed Daiichi nuclear reactors by Tepco officials. The presence of the collectible cyber-animals could tempt addicts into no-go areas, it is feared.

As a result, power company bosses have demanded that the land around the crippled power plants, where radiation levels remain relatively high, be removed from the hit mobile game.

Radiation levels in seabed off Fukushima ‘100s of times’ higher than prior to disaster – Greenpeace

The amount of radioactive substances in seabed off Fukushima is hundreds of times higher than before the disaster, a report issued by Greenpeace reveals. The figures mean that there is absolutely “no return to normal after nuclear catastrophe” in the area.

On Thursday, the environmental group released a report addressing the results of the study during which scientists analyzed radioactivity levels along Fukushima’s rivers and in the Pacific seabed off the coast.

In first, Tepco admits ice wall can’t stop Fukushima No. 1 groundwater

The much-hyped ice wall at the crippled Fukushima No. 1 nuclear power plant has failed to stop groundwater from flowing in and mixing with highly radioactive water inside the wrecked reactor buildings, operator Tokyo Electric Power Co. Holdings Inc. has admitted.

Fukushima Daiichi Decommissioning Takes A Horrible Turn

NHK reports that the decommissioning authority in charge of dealing with the aftermath of the Fukushima disaster is now considering a sarcophagus to entomb the failed reactors rather than attempting to remove the melted fuel, debris and buildings.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The problem is that the sarcophagus only covers the top. The bottom is still open to the soil, just feet above the water table.

Extended Blackouts: Power Grid Completely Vulnerable to Sabotage: “America Could Go Dark”

The 21st Century is run off of electricity, and in the United States, that electric grid is woefully out of date – and that has left the country quite vulnerable.

The U.S. electric system is in danger of widespread blackouts lasting days, weeks or longer through the destruction of sensitive, hard-to-replace equipment.

“Virtually any region would suffer major, extended blackouts if more than three key substations were destroyed.”

“This Is The Disaster Everyone Will Wish They Prepared For”: SoCal Megaquake Threatens 20 Million

Experts in business and policy have conducted a survey of the potential damage that could be expected after what scientists now say is an inevitable mega-earthquake along the San Andreas fault. It exposed many deep flaws in the system, and forecast a disaster of epic proportions for of Southern California.

It could easily become every prepper's worst nightmare – an event big enough to test the shaky resolve of the entire population as they face being cut off from food, water and electricity....

EPA literally wants you to DIE from radiation: Agency raising the limit of radioactive elements in drinking water by over 3,000 times... to cause widespread cancer and death

We really have reached a point of such insanity across human civilization that governments have become the terrorists who actively seek to harm and kill off the people. The latest example demonstrating this very point is the fact that the EPA just announced its plan to allow gigantic increases in the allowable radioactivity in drinking water... increasing it by over 3,000 times in the case of radioactive Iodine-131... while calling it "safe" to drink even though it's almost certain to give you cancer.

There’s No Covering Up This One — Visible Pollution Leaking From NY Nuclear Plant

US Coast Guard officials have cordoned off a portion of Lake Ontario this week, after aerial spotters found a visible “sheen” that is coming from a nuclear power plant in upstate New York.

The Coast Guard Auxiliary aircrew first noticed the sheen on Sunday. Shortly after, a boat crew from the Oswego station tested the sheen and a “temporary safety zone” was put in place.

The Free Thought Project spoke to the Coast Guard Sector Buffalo Command Center on Tuesday and confirmed that the zone was still closed off, and there is no information as to when it will reopen.

Fukushima 3/11 Breeds Cynicism

There’s an old saying “disasters bring out the best in people,” but Fukushima 3/11 of March 11, 2011 has put an exclamation point on cynicism rather than heartfelt concern.

Similar to America’s experience of outright lies by its government about the Iraqi Massacre, the blowback of cynicism and contempt bring forth a strain of populism, rejecting establishment, attracting lowly dishonorable politics, as America gooses-up an abomination!

New Report Exposing Coverup of Fukushima Proves Conspiracy Theorists Right

By Claire Bernish

According to a new report, the Japanese government worked in concert with TEPCO to purposely cover up the meltdown at Fukushima in 2011.

“I would say it was a coverup,” Tokyo Electric Power Company President Naomi Hirose announced during a press conference. “It’s extremely regrettable.”

Masataka Shimizu, president of TEPCO at the time of the earthquake, tsunami, and subsequent nuclear disaster, told employees not to go public with the term “meltdown” — allegedly in capitulation to pressure from the Prime Minister’s Office...
