Not Again! US Trained Syrian "Moderates" Surrender To Jihadists - Hand Over Heavy Weapons

Despite the Obama Administration continuing to insist that its strategy in Syria is "working," The Telegraph reports that two of the main rebel groups receiving weapons from the US to fight both the regime and jihadist groups in Syria have surrendered to al-Qaeda. Rather stunningly, the Syrian Revolutionary Front, one of the largest "vetted, moderate" US-backed rebel forces, has been effectively wiped out; and has handed over all their weapons and bases including US-provided anti-tank missiles and GRAD rockets. Simply out, "as a movement, the SRF is effectively finished," but apart from that US foreign policy is 'nailing it'. As The Telegraph concludes, for the US, the weapons they supplied falling into the hands of al-Qaeda is a realisation of a nightmare.

9/11 Was NATO’s License to Expand Globally

The 9/11 attacks on the United States undoubtedly benefited a number of actors, including the American military-intelligence complex, Israel, and most definitely, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). The Cold War-era, the area of responsibility for which had long been confined to Europe and North America, used the provisions of Article 5 of the NATO Charter – which states that an attack on one member is an attack on all – to extend NATO’s power deep into Eurasia, particularly in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Kyrgyzstan.

After engaging in out-of-area invasions and occupations of Afghanistan, Iraq, Somalia, Libya, and Syria and, again in Iraq, against the «Islamic State,» the «North Atlantic» military bloc has transformed itself from a Cold War defensive alliance into a global offensive axis of nations that acts with or without United Nations authorization.

Iran Feature: “US Supplying Weapons & Aid to Islamic State in Iraq” — Confusion, Ignorance, or Crude Propaganda?

Claims from Iranian officials that the US is secretly supporting the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria — even as it bombs the jihadists in both countries — are far from unusual. Since the US airstrikes began in early August, the Supreme Leader, Speaker of Parliament Ali Larijani, and military commanders have all accused Washington of creating the Islamic State’s threat.

However, the deputy head of Iran’s armed forces, General Massoud Jazayeri (pictured), has found a way of enhancing the allegations — on Saturday, he effectively redrew the map of the region to prove the US perfidy.

US threatens Turkish and Kurdish middlemen in ISIS oil bonanza

A US treasury official has warned Turkish and Kurdish middlemen against trading in Islamic State (ISIS) oil by threatening to slap US sanctions on those caught dealing with the extremist group.

US officials have discreetly criticised the illicit Turkish and Kurdish trade in oil from ISIS, which is also known as IS and ISIL, but comments from US Treasury Undersecretary David Cohen in Washington on Thursday, were the clearest warning so far.

“Last month, ISIL was selling oil at substantially discounted prices to a variety of middlemen, including some from Turkey,” Cohen said. “It also appears that some of the oil emanating from territory where ISIL operates has been sold to Kurds in Iraq, and then resold into Turkey.”

Canadian jihadi says Israeli Jews welcome in ISIS

A Canadian jihadist currently fighting alongside Islamic State (IS) in Syria said that he thinks Israeli-born Jews would be accepted to join the radical group provided they convert to Islam.

The jihadist, who goes by the surname Abu Khalid Al-Kanadi ("Abu Khalid the Canadian") made the comment earlier this week via the social media website ask.fm.

Al-Kanadi, who converted in 2010, responded to several other questions on the site and noted that he was born into a Canadian family but that it was easy for him to leave to go to Syria.

"They reacted mainly with confusion, not understanding why someone would leave Canada to go to a land of war," he wrote.

When asked on the website whether he would be willing to speak to a journalist, Al-Kanadi said that "journalists are responsible for the spreading of lies against the Islamic State. Is this journalist seeking to spread the message of the media outlets of the Jews, Christians, Apostates, and Hypocrites?"

Iraqi Doctors Call Depleted Uranium Use “Genocide”

Contamination from depleted uranium (DU) munitions is causing sharp rises in congenital birth defects, cancer cases and other illnesses throughout much of Iraq, according to numerous Iraqi doctors.

“The world should know that Iraqi people were the victims of the aggression inflicted by the use of DU munitions by the American and British troops during these wars, and this is genocide,” Dr. Jawad al-Ali, a consultant physician and oncologist, told Truthout.

Al-Ali, an expert oncologist at the Basra Cancer Treatment Center, member of the Iraqi Cancer Board and a member of the Basra Cancer Research Group, estimates that there are 300 sites throughout Iraq that are contaminated with radiation from the DU munitions.

He attributes the extreme rates of birth defects in Fallujah to the US use of DU there during its two sieges of the city in 2004.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Dr. Al-Ali is completely correct to call out the use of DU weapons for what it was in Iraq: genocide.

Jury convicts four former Blackwater guards for gunning down unarmed Iraqis

A federal jury on Wednesday found four former Blackwater guards guilty of killing unarmed Iraqis at a Baghdad traffic circle, more than seven years after the shooting incident that outraged Iraqis and inflamed anti-American sentiment around the world.

The Washington jury found three of the ex-guards with the private security company, Paul Slough, Dustin Heard and Evan Liberty, guilty of voluntary manslaughter. It found a fourth guard, Nicholas Slatten, guilty of murder in connection with the first death at the circle.

In all, the jury found the four former guards guilty on nearly every count related to the incident.

Iraqi Kurds to vote on sending forces to Syria

Iraq's Kurdish regional parliament will hold a session Wednesday to vote on deploying peshmerga security forces to aid Syrian Kurds battling jihadists from ISIS, a senior lawmaker said.

The planned vote raises the possibility that the three-province autonomous Kurdistan region will make the decision to deploy forces from Iraq to fight in Syria's civil war independent of the federal government.

BEX ALERT - ISIS returns to its roots with suicide bombing of Baghdad mosque

Arguably the world's most terrifying Islamic terrorist organization appears to be returning to its roots with its latest suicide operation. At least 22 Iraqis were killed and another 25 were wounded in a suicide bombing that targeted a Shiite mosque in Iraq's heavily protected capital city of Baghdad on Sunday evening, according to a police source. The attack is believed to have been the handiwork of the Islamic State, which originally was known as al-Qaida in Irag (AQII).

This feels like a false-flag operation to mew to promote the "sectarian violence" story to obscure the fact that the people of Iraq are uniting to kick out their US puppet regime.

Lavrov: Russia supplying weapons to Iraq, Syria

Russia is supporting the governments of Iraq and Syria with massive supplies of weaponry and military equipment in order to help them fight against extremist groups, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Monday.

Lavrov, speaking at a panel discussion focusing on Russia’s foreign policy, said that with the Russian aid, the Iraqi and Syrian governments' combat capacity has been greatly enhanced.

The Russian minister continued by saying that only the United Nations Security Council has the right to form a coalition against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, or ISIL.

Lavrov said that any plans made outside the Security Council are worrying because "these attempts result in an accumulation of chaos."

He added that the aim of fighting against terror is adversely affected by linking it to geopolitical decisions to punish certain regimes, and thus forcing such a connection is morally indefensible.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Lavrov is absolutely right on this.

US Found its own Chemical Weapons in Iraq

The only chemical weapons US forces found in Iraq between 2004 and 2011 were “designed in the United States” and “manufactured in Europe,” according to a new revealing report.

American and Iraqi troops found, and in multiple cases, were injured by aged and degraded stockpiles of chemical weapons in Iraq, a New York Times investigation, published late Tuesday, has found.

However, the report said, the US withheld information about the discoveries as those weapons were manufactured in the 1980s when the US and its allies were actively supplying chemical agents to Saddam Hussein’s regime during the Iraq-Iran war.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The attempt by the New York Times to revive the myth of Iraq's WMDs was an act of pure desperation.

Oct 16 08:34

No, There's Still No Evidence There Was an Active WMD Program in Iraq

C.J. Chivers of the New York Times has a long piece today about chemical weapons found in Iraq after the 2003 invasion. A few dead-enders are now gleefully claiming that Bush was right after all. Iraq did have WMD!

This is ridiculous enough that—so far, at least—the savvier wing of the conservative movement is staying mum about the whole thing. There are three main reasons for this. First, most of these weapons were rotting remnants of artillery shells used during the Iraq-Iran war in the 80s and stored at Iraq's Muthanna State Establishment as well as other nearby sites.

The military sources said that “the organization ISIS attacked the army base in Hit, the third largest military bases in western Iraq, from several axes, and carried out a series of suicide attacks on the walls of the base by car bombs, as well as a missile attack lasted about an hour which led to the storming of the base after the withdrawal of the army from it. “

McCain urges ground troops to defeat Isis: 'They're winning, and we're not'

Senator John McCain has warned that the Islamic State (Isis) is winning in Iraq and Syria, and that the United States needs to deploy ground troops if it is to stave off defeat.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Okay John, if you really feel that way, here's your rifle and here's your parachute. We ran out of the desert camo but here is a bright day-glo orange jumpsuit left over from the CIA's torture centers and we think the cleaners got most of the blood out. Watch your head climbing into that transport plane and we will call Assad and tell him you are on your way to kick his butt all by yourself.

But We The People remember the lies about stolen incubators that tricked us into the first invasion of Iraq.

We The People remember the lies about Saddam's nuclear weapons that tricked us into the second invasion of Iraq.

We The People remember how only a year ago you tried to trick us into war with Syria with more lies about poison gas.

We The People remember how there weren't really torpedoes in the Gulf of Tonkin or a Spanish mine in Havana Harbor, but how there really WERE weapons on board the Lusitania.

US troops DID find chemical weapons in Iraq - but Pentagon kept it secret: Discovery of 5,000 warheads and shells 'was hushed up because they were not weapons of mass destruction'

About 5,000 chemical weapons were recovered or destroyed in Iraq following the 2003 invasion but the Pentagon chose to keep the findings top secret, it has emerged.

An investigation by The New York Times has revealed that U.S. forces happened across the hidden caches of warheads, shells and aviation bombs between 2004 and 2011.

But the information wasn't made public as embarrassingly the weapons, many of which had been built in close collaboration with the West, had been sitting dormant since the 1980s and so didn't support President George W. Bush's rationale for going to war.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The New York Times is proclaiming that ISIS now has these weapons and is COMING TO GETCHA! But these weapons are old and so unstable they had to be left where they were stored in Iraq out of concern that anyone trying to move them would be exposed to the chemicals.

Joint Chiefs Chairman: Ground Role for Troops in Iraq Likely

Though the civilian leadership in the Obama Administration is continuing to insist that they’ve ruled out a ground war in Iraq, top Pentagon brass continue to indicate the exact opposite.

Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Martin Dempsey today said his “instinct at this point” is that the war will eventually require the “advisers,” US ground troops sent to Iraq, will have to engage in ground combat, particularly in the push to retake the major city of Mosul.

Gen. Dempsey went on to say that ISIS is successfully blending in to the Sunni population in towns along the outskirts of Baghdad, and that “indirect fire” from mortars and artillery against the Iraqi capital are virtually certain in the coming days.

He went on to say that last week’s decision to start using Apache helicopters in attacks on ISIS was a result of ISIS nearing Baghdad, and the US effort to try to protect the airport, saying it’s a vital US interest to keep the airport open.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So, we are being "groomed" for yet a third invasion of Iraq, via the US military?!?

And forgive me, but has General Dempsey had a bit of SMD (selective memory disorder) going on, to forget about a Shia cleric named Muqtada al-Sadr, who still has a hold of large swathes of Iraqi people, and can mobilize them against the US military in a heartbeat?!?

As reported at aljazeera.com on 21 September:

Thousands of Iraqis have rallied in central Baghdad against a US-led military campaign targeting fighters from the group known as ISIL. Followers of Shia cleric, Muqtada al-Sadr, called on the Iraqi government to reject US interference in the battle against ISIL, as the US-led coalition formed plans to intensify raids against the group. Al Jazeera's John Hendren reports from Baghdad.

Folks, this is about who gets the oil, and oil revenue from Iraq, and in what countries' currency.

This isn't about "stability" in Iraq; it's about the money, period, end of discussion.

Internal restabilization of Iraq has to happen through an internal dialogue, at the highest level, of Sunni and Shiia politicians and religious leaders. The process will be long and painful, but this is how it has to happen.

And ultimately, no amount of US military intervention can possibly resolve this.

Billions set aside for post-Saddam Iraq turned up in Lebanese bunker

More than $1bn earmarked for the reconstruction of Iraq was stolen and spirited to a bunker in Lebanon as the American and Iraqi governments ignored appeals to recover the money, it has been claimed.

Stuart Bowen, a former special inspector general who investigated corruption and waste in Iraq, said the stash accounted for a significant chunk of the huge sums which vanished during the chaotic months following the 2003 US-led invasion.

Bowen’s team discovered that $1.2bn to $1.6bn was moved to a bunker in rural Lebanon for safe keeping – and then pleaded in vain for Baghdad and Washington to act, according to James Risen, a journalist who interviewed Bowen for a book, Pay Any Price: Greed, Power and Endless War, to be published this week.

ISIS reaches Baghdad suburbs, US troops block the way to BGW Int'l Airport

In their push to completely wipe out the national government of Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi, terrorist members of the al-Qaeda allied Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) Islamic Jihadist organization have made their way to the westernmost suburbs of Baghdad, as reported by CBS News on Oct. 10, 2014. CBS is also reporting that between the furthest advance of the ISIS column and the center of the nation's capital sits Baghdad International Airport (BGW) where at least 300 American troops assigned as perimeter security, as reported by the McClatchy News Service on June 30, 2014.

Webmaster's Commentary:

ISIS may be involved in the fighting but what is really going on in Iraq is a replay of Iran in 1979 when the people of a nation decide to take their nation back from US puppet rule. Of course, such a thing cannot be allowed to happen. Those pesky provinces of the American empire are supposed to stay conquered once they have been conquered. If Iraq breaks free of US rule (as Libya is on the verge of doing) it might give other US provinces uppity ideas, which is why we are now seeing a third invasion of Iraq by the US!

US Air Raids: The Unlearned Lesson of Libya

In 2011 NATO air strikes against Libya that were carried out under the pretext of the urgent need of protecting civilians from a “violent dictator“, cleared the road to power for radical militants. Three years ago, once Muammar Gaddafi had been brutally murdered in October 2011, these militants took over Libya by filling the vacuum created by foreign intervention. From that moment on the country had been plunged deeper into bloodshed created by the former revolutionaries as they cut each other’s throats in a fight for rich oil-producing regions.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So far, the only thing US military intervention has done in Iraq, Libya, and (soon) Syria, is to make the situation worse.

FBI Director Warns of ‘Khorasan’ Threat

In comments on today’s “60 Minutes” program, FBI Director James Comey warned that the Khorasan group is “serious people, bent of destruction” who plan to attack the US “very, very soon.”

Comey insisted the US had to act as if the Khorasan strike was “coming tomorrow,” but conceded that they don’t know whether they plan to attack “tomorrow or three weeks or three months from now.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Memo to FBI Director Comey: if there is a "big bang" in this country, it will mean that neither you, the NSA, the CIA, or the FBI, or military intelligence has been able to protect us, and should be collectively SACKED instantly after such an event occurs.

And the US government has another serious problem: few Americans believe ANYTHING this government says anymore, because it has completely paralyzed and crippled its own credibility.

Should there be a crisis inside this country (like a real, exponential outbreak of ebola here), even if the information the government was disseminating was accurate, it would not be believed.

Who Will Profit From the Wars in Iraq and Syria?

If there's one thing we should have learned over the past 13 years of war, it's that war is good business for those in the business of war. Unfortunately, while profits for the Pentagon's contractors increase, so does the cost to taxpayers in billions in waste, fraud, and abuse. As America embarks on yet another war in the Middle East, Congress needs to act now to stop this unjustified bonanza for the Pentagon's contractors.

The most recent wars in Iraq and Afghanistan offer an ominous example about what can happen when the rush to war is met with sharp spending increases coupled with little to no oversight or fiscal restraint. The Commission on Wartime Contracting -- a bipartisan congressional body -- estimates that there was $30 to $60 billion in waste, fraud and abuse associated with the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan -- a total of $12 million per day. Even worse, at least $6 billion is completely missing, never accounted for, gone forever.

What Civilian Casualties? To Barack Obama, Women And Children In Syria And Iraq Are A Subhuman Species

One former Obama administration official said the new White House statement raises questions about how the U.S. intends to proceed in the conflict in Syria and Iraq, and under what legal authorities.

Wait, someone actually wondered under what legal authority the Obama administration is killing innocent people? How dare they: don't they know Obama has a Nobel peace prize, so none of his actions are subject to any scrutiny: surely the president himself is his own best moral censor.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am deeply concerned that these strikes, which are both deeply immoral and illegal in the extreme, are going to a larger regional war which, at some point, will include Russia.

As an American who cares deeply about the future road her country is taking, I cannot support them at all. All people in the world should have the right to peaceful self-determination.

But then again, in the grand scheme of things which originate in Sodom on the Potomac, this may be precisely the plan by those in the bowels of power in DC: a regional war which ultimately leads to war with Russia.

I would very politely like to point out that there is no guarantee of a positive outcome to such a war with Russia, because the US military doesn't have the money, the troop strength, or the manufacturing to insure such an outcome.

And that is what makes the military scenario so scarily dangerous.

Rahm Emanuel, President Obama's first Chief of Staff – who also served as Obama's Israeli Mossad handler – famously said: "You never let a serious crisis go to waste. And what I mean by that it's an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before."

Individuals, groups, whole industries, even nations sometimes take advantage of crises and catastrophes. Big bankers, for example, love war because it forces governments to borrow vast sums of money at compound interest. Arms manufacturers also make huge profits. And the big government always gets bigger during wartime as it confiscates people's wealth and scales back their rights.

Isis an Hour Away from Baghdad

US air strikes are failing to drive back Isis in Iraq where its forces are still within an hour’s drive of Baghdad.

Three and a half months since the Iraqi army was spectacularly routed in northern Iraq by a far inferior force of Isis fighters, it is still seeing bases overrun because it fails to supply them with ammunition, food and water. The selection of a new Prime Minister, Haider al-Abadi, to replace Nouri al-Maliki last month was supposed to introduce a more conciliatory government that would appeal to Iraq’s Sunni minority from which Isis draws its support.

Mr Abadi promised to end the random bombardment of Sunni civilians, but Fallujah has been shelled for six out of seven days, with 28 killed and 117 injured. Despite the military crisis, the government has still not been able to gets its choice for the two top security jobs, theDefence Minister and Interior Minister, through parliament.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The only question to be asked here, is the following: when will there be US boots on the ground - and one heck of a lot of them - to prevent Baghdad from falling?!?

The air campaign here against ISIL has not worked, and the cold hard reality, is that it is impossible to win what is essentially a ground war from the air.

The US government should have absorbed that lesson from Vietnam, but aparrently has not, all these years after that military confrontation.

US Expands Syria Strikes: Not Just a War Against ISIS

US airstrikes seem to be expanding in scope today in Syria, with four different provinces of the country hit in attacks, including areas where ISIS is virtually non-existent.

President Obama has been insisting it is an oversimplification to say this war is America versus ISIS. Indeed, that’s the case, but while the president is seeking to downplay the scope of the conflict, the signs are that he’s at war with actually a much broader swath of the Syrian rebellion.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It is obvious to even a casual observer of the current geopolitical scene that these bombings of Syria are engineered to generate regime change in Damascus.

The questions which need to be asked are, will Al-Assad attempt invoke the mutual defense pact Syria has with Iran, to assist him against the US, and if that happens, what will Russia do to prevent any attacks against Iran, and stop the US from bombing Syria?

As ‘Advisers’ Role Expands, US ‘Boots on the Ground’ Already in Iraq

When talking up the ISIS war, President Obama always takes time to insist that he’s rule out boots on the ground. A new NBC/WSJ/Annenberg poll shows not that many Americans are believing him.

The poll showed 72% of Americans believe that the US will end up using ground troops in combat in the war on ISIS in Iraq and Syria. The poll showed Americans split roughly down the middle on whether a ground war would be acceptable, if demanded by Pentagon leadership.

Obama blames his intelligence chief for his own shortcomings, say critics

President Barack Obama denigrated the United States’ intelligence community in an interview broadcast Sunday evening for giving him and his White House an incorrect assessment of the capabilities of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS), during his interview with newsman Steve Kroft, who has been accused of being an "Obama water carrier" by conservative viewers. Obama told Croft on the CBS TV Network's Sunday night edition of 60 Minutes that his "head of the intelligence community, James (Jim) Clapper... underestimated what had been taking place in Syria.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

I think the whole "we underestimated ISIS" is a ploy to sell the American people boots on the ground despite the early assurances this would not happen. Now Obama needs someone to drop the blame on.

Poll: 70% of troops say no boots on ground in Iraq

Seven out of 10 of the more than 2,200 active-duty respondents to this year's Military Times Poll oppose the idea of sending substantial U.S. ground forces back into Iraq to battle the Islamic State militants and their allies. In addition, over the past four years of the annual poll, the percentage of active-duty troops who believe the first U.S. war in Iraq was a success has declined significantly:

Did Obama Just Unify America’s Enemies?

America’s airstrikes inside Syria against both the Islamic State, often known as ISIL, and Al Qaeda’s primary affiliate in Syria, Jabhat al-Nusra, come with some obvious benefits — taking on a genuine threat to U.S. interests and security — but may also expose the United States to some unintended consequences — dangers that could haunt the United States for years to come.

'Barbarians': Boehner Says America May Need Ground Troops to Fight ISIS

House Speaker John Boehner says the United States may have "no choice" but to send American troops to fight ISIS militants if the current U.S. strategy fails to extinguish the extremist group.

We The People remember how there weren't really torpedoes in the Gulf of Tonkin or a Spanish mine in Havane Harbor, but how there really WERE weapons on board the Lusitania.

In short, We The People remember all the lies, frauds, and deceptions used to trick us into wars of conquest, to send our young people out to die in wars created out of thin air by and for the money-junkies. I think it is time that wee have a new rule in America; that those who want war are the first to the front lines. You are all splendidly brave with the lives of other peoples' children. Let's see the true measure of your courage and commitment to war.

You first!

Media censor Argentine president’s remarks at UN

The Argentine president questioned countries such as the United States for attacking groups, including the ISIL Takfiri terrorists which Washington previously backed against the Syrian government.

“Where do ISIS (ISIL) and Al-Qaeda take their guns from? Yesterday’s freedom fighters are today’s terrorists,” Cristina Fernandez said, blasting US policies vis-a-vis terrorism.

The ISIL terrorists, who were initially trained by the CIA in Jordan in 2012 to destabilize the Syrian government, control large parts of Syria’s northern territory. The group sent its members into neighboring Iraq in June and seized large parts of land there.

David Cameron’s war plans against ISIS sound a lot like Tony Blair’s in Iraq.

Britain is set to join the air campaign against Isis in Iraq, but, going by David Cameron’s speech to the UN General Assembly, the Government has no more idea of what it is getting into in this war than Tony Blair did in 2003.

Mr Cameron says that there should be “no rushing to join a conflict without a clear plan”, but he should keep in mind the warning of the American boxer Mike Tyson that “everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth”.

The Prime Minister says that lessons have been learned from British military interventions in Iraq and Afghanistan but it is telling that he did not mention intervention in Libya for which he himself was responsible.

In fact, there is a much closer parallel between Britain joining an air war in Libya in 2011 than Mr Blair’s earlier misadventures which Mr Cameron was happy to highlight.

US in 'near continuous' strikes against ISIS in Syria

The U.S.-led coalition widened its airstrikes against ISIS in Syria on Saturday as part of "near continuous" raids against the jihadists.

The targets were said to include ISIS fighters around the mainly Kurdish town of Ain al-Arab where a jihadist advance has sent 160,000 refugees streaming into nearby Turkey.

The coalition also hit ISIS in the central province of Homs for the first time as well as in the town of Minbej, near the western limit of the group's control, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

The expanded operations in Syria by Washington and its Arab allies came after three more European governments deployed fighter jets for strikes against ISIS in Iraq, freeing up U.S. air power.

Up to 40 jihadist US citizens who have fought alongside terrorist group ISIS are now back on U.S. soil, possibly to strike the vulnerable electric and subway substations. According to Rep. Tim Bishop (D-N.Y.) and a senior Obama administration official, more than 100 American citizens left the country to join ISIS or the al-Nursa Front to fight in Syria, but now it’s believed that 40 American terrorists have leaked back into the U.S., lurking in the shadows.

Soldiers from Fort Riley will deploy to Iraq for Islamic State mission

About 500 soldiers from Fort Riley, Kan., will deploy to the Middle East in late October to support the mission to “degrade and destroy” Islamic State militants, the Department of Defense announced Thursday.

About 200 of the soldiers from Fort Riley’s 1st Infantry Division, the “Big Red One,” will deploy directly to Baghdad and Irbil in Iraq. The rest will be stationed in the region and deployed to Iraq over time.

The Defense Department said the soldiers are preparing for a one-year mission.

Hezbollah: US Bombing Iraqi Army, Popular Forces' Positions Not ISIL

Iraq's Hezbollah Battalions complained that US warplanes have intentionally bombarded the positions of the Iraqi army and the volunteer forces in the Northern Babil province for the second time in the last month on the pretext of targeting ISIL strongholds.

"The intentional bombing of armed forces and popular forces shows wicked intentions of the US and the international cover-up of this attempt on the pretext of fighting ISIL," an informed source from Iraq's Hezbollah Battalions told the Arabic-language Al-Moslah news website.

"Had the United States been honest in its claims, it would have targeted the ISIL positions in Jorf Al-Sakhar, Faloujah, and other regions identified by us instead of striking the Army and popular forces in Al-Awisat in Northern Babil last Wednesday," the source said.

David Cameron warns world leaders of Isis's 'murderous plans to expand its borders' and pledges to take action

David Cameron has warned world leaders at the United Nations that the Islamic State, or Isis, harbours “murderous plans to expand its borders well beyond Iraq and Syria… and to carry out terrorist atrocities right across the world” and pledge concerted action by Britain, including air strikes, to thwart it.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Pentagon War Plans in 2001: Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, & Iran

Here is the transcript of Gen. Clark’s account.
CLARK: About 10 days after 9/11, I went to the Pentagon, and I saw [Defense] Secretary [Donald] Rumsfeld and Deputy Secretary [Paul] Wolfowitz. I went downstairs to say hello to some of the people on the joint staff that used to work for me.

One of the generals called me in and said, “Sir, you gotta come in and talk to me.” I said, “Sir, you’re too busy.” And he said, “No, no! We’ve made the decision — we’re going to war with Iraq!” This is on or about the 28th of September. I said, “We’re going to war with Iraq? Why!?” He said, “I don’t know!” He said, “I guess they don’t know what else to do.” So I said, “Did they find some information connecting Saddam to al Qaeda?” He said, “No, no, there’s nothing new that way. They just made the decision to go to war with Iraq.” He said, “I guess its like we don’t know what to do about terrorists, but we’ve got a good military and we can take down governments.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

OK , folks; if it wasn't clear to you that these invasions are part of a long-form plan before reading what General Clark had to say, I would like to hope that you do now.

There was a marvelous line in the second Sherlock Homes film, where the Moriarty character says that he wants to control the market on bullets and bandages for the coming war.

And this is no different than the military industrial corporations which are collectively SALIVATING over the next major military confrontation the US will be having, because the profitability of such a war for them will be extraordinarily high.

Wars are NEVER about our safety, security, and alleged "freedoms"; it is all about private corporate profit, and this is why our young men and women in uniform are going to die and get maimed for life in the horrendous military confrontation I see coming, which may well engulf the entire world.

Serious Business: President Bush and VP Cheney Should Take the Stand on War Lies

I was fresh from the massive anti-war marches in New York and questioned the truth of any connection between Iraq and al Qaeda, although President Bush and Vice President Cheney had drawn the association with regularity. My seatmate's whole body leaned over to the right -- literally. "I feel so sorry for you," he said. "How cynical you must be to think that the president would lie."

Boom in Fallujah Birth Defects Continues To Go Uninvestigated

Though the US has denied using prohibited weapons in Fallujah, a study in September 2011 found chemical contamination in local soil and water samples, as well as hair samples from the families of children with birth defects. Mercury, uranium, and bismuth are among the suspected culprits causing this unprecedented rise in congenital abnormalities.

Research has also shown a 12-fold increase in childhood cancers since 2004. The normal birth rate has also been skewed, with only 86 boys now being born for every 100 girls in Fallujah. The birth defect rate is more than 14 times that found today in Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

FLASHBACK - Iraq PR Written Months Before Intel Report Arrived

The National Security Archive released a report Friday Aug. 22, 2008 that sheds even more light on the premeditated lying and deception that took the United States to war in Iraq. The findings are based on new evidence compiled by Dr. John Prados and published by the National Security Archive. (See "White Paper" Drafted before NIE even Requested , "Scoop" Independent News, Aug. 24, 2008)

Most notably, Prados shows the depth of the deception perpetrated against citizens and Congress regarding the alleged threat to U.S. security posed by Iraq. It had appeared that the White House rewrote the Oct. 1, 2002 National Intelligence Estimate and then issued that doctored report to Congress on Oct. 4, 2002. Prados reveals convincing evidence that the Oct. 4 White Paper had already been written by July 2002. He shows that it was only slightly altered after the final NIE arrived. This White Paper served as the basis for the war.
