Letter to a Court Historian about Forrestal’s Death

H.L. Mencken aptly called them “the timorous eunuchs who posture as American historians.” That was in 1920, but little has changed. It might be a freshly minted Ph.D. from TCU, teaching at a backwater university in Texas like Matthew A. McNiece, or the man often described as the foremost historian of the Cold War, Yale history professor John Lewis Gaddis, but the fake authoritativeness and the real pusillanimity are at least as evident today as they were in Mencken’s day. That is certainly the case when it comes to their writing about the very important subject of the violent death of the U.S. government’s leading opponent of the creation of the state of Israel, Secretary of Defense James Forrestal.

BOTEACH TRIES TO REKINDLE THE DAILY SHOW FIRE

In yet another attempt to show the world that he has the intelligence of a human being, Shmuley Boteach adds his voice to the controversy surrounding Jon Stewart’s replacement, Trevor Noah. As usual, he’s way off base. Good thing he doesn’t play baseball ;)

The Daily Show sets the standard for Comedy Channel, and Stewart set that bar high. I wish Trevor well, but I wish even more that he do a crash course in Middle East facts and get up to speed so that he treats this most volatile of subjects with the erudition it deserves.

Is he talking about himself in the last sentence? HE is the one that needs the crash course in Middle East facts!

Bottom line is …. If Boteach doesn’t like him, YOU gotta love him!

AIPAC: The Israeli Lobby

The United States supports Israel in a variety of ways. We give them all sorts of military and economic support, roughly 3 billion dollars a year. Israel, despite the fact it is a relatively rich country, receives more foreign aid than any other other country in the world. We veto resolutions in the United Nations all the time that are critical to Israel. Is one allowed to question that reality, or is the pro-Israel lobby so strong, financially and politically, that the relationship with Israel is taboo and therefore unmentionable? And what happens to those who dare expose the unmentionable?

Israel expects hundreds of civilian casualties in next war with Hezbollah

Israel could suffer hundreds of civilian dead and damage to its vital infrastructure from Hezbollah rockets if it fights another war with the Iranian-backed Lebanese guerrilla group, according to Israeli military assessments.

The scenario, published by Israeli media on Wednesday, reflected concern among security planners that since the last Lebanon war, in 2006, Hezbollah has expanded its rocket arsenal and gained battle experience helping Damascus fight the insurgency in Syria.

AIPAC's "No One Wants War" in Iran Claim Debunked

The problem with saying “no one wants war” is of course that some people do want war. These include some congressional critics, some Israeli officials, some in the pro-Israel movement and some of Iran’s Sunni Arab neighbors. None acts as a monolith, but their beautiful diversity definitely includes some warmongers.

AIPAC, moreover, surely knows this. Sheldon Adelson, a sometime AIPAC funder and partner who remains a major force in the “pro-Israel movement” has for example called for nuking Iran. The group’s stable of regular speakers at fundraisers and events includes several figures who have, indeed, called for war with Iran. Just consider a January AIPAC fundraiser in New York, headlined by Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and former Sen. Joseph Lieberman (I/D-CT)-both of whom have at some point called for military strikes. As Lieberman once boasted, there is a “broad bipartisan base of support” for such an attack.

Israel could send Iran ‘back to the stone age’ with electromagnetic bomb

Israel could destroy Iran’s electric network with a specially designed electromagnetic bomb in the event of a military conflict between the countries, The Sunday Times reported on Sunday.

An electromagnetic bomb of this sort would be detonated above the ground, creating an electromagnetic pulse that would “disrupt all the technological devices working on the ground,” an American expert was quoted as saying to the London paper.

The use of the new technology by Israel was brought up in discussions regarding a possible attack on Tehran’s nuclear facilities, the report claimed. Such a move would send Iran “back to the stone age,” the British paper said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I think this story of an electromagnetic bomb is a cover for the use of nuclear weapons by Israel against Iran. Unlike any other bomb, which destroys itself as it destroys the target, a theoretical electromagnetic bomb has to maintain its physical integrity during use. Electricity in wire travels at .2 times the speed of light. Any break in the wiring of the coils producing the magnetic field will instantly collapse that field. This limits how much power that can go into such an electromagnetic bomb as it must be able to withstand the magnetic field it produces. In the case of an EMP produced by a nuclear weapon above the atmosphere, loss of the initiating device is not an issue as the EMP is produced not by the bomb itself but by a sudden displacement of the Earth's own magnetic field.

Apr 08 07:31

Should Israeli nuclear bombs be inspected?

Israel is a nuclear power was the conclusion of a Department of Defense report prepared in 1987 and kept secret until its release this past March. It was brought to light through a Freedom of Information lawsuit by Grant Smith, an investigative reporter and author affiliated with the Institute for Research: Middle East Policy, who forced the release of the report, which confirms the existence of Israel's nuclear program. The actual report was prepared by the Institute for Defense Analysis, a Pentagon-funded research unit, and provides U.S.-based evidence to the advanced nature of Israel's nuclear program. According to Smith, this is the first time the U.S. government has ever provided official documentation that recognizes long-standing knowledge of the existence and extent of such a program.

Top Democrat backs bill okaying Congress to sink Iran deal

Defying White House, Senator Chuck Schumer endorses legislation intended to enable lawmakers to kill nuclear accord with Tehran

Webmaster's Commentary:

It is time to arrest Schumer and every other member of Congress acting on Israel's desire to kill the Iran deal for violating the Logan Act. The reason for foreign policy to be handled by the State Department and the White House is to provide a reliable single point of contact for foreign governments, in order to avoid the very situation we are in now, with foreign leaders unable to determ, ine what is or is not official US policy.

The real reason Netanyahu and the GOP hate this Iran deal

1) The nuclear architecture Iran gets to keep is way too big.
2) Sanctions relief will enable Iranian aggression.
3) The deal isn't strict enough in key areas.
4) Inspections won't be as strong as you think.

The thing about some of these arguments is that they are basically objections to any feasible deal with Iran. Many critics, particularly Netanyahu, have taken pains to deny that they oppose any deal altogether — but it seems quite clearly that they do.

Israel’s nuclear gun pointed at Obama’s head

It is possibly the greatest of American political myths, repeated ad nauseam by presidential candidates in their election campaigns. Netanyahu Reiterates: I’m Trying to Kill Iran Deal

Taking to the major American networks today Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu continued railing against the Iran nuclear framework deal, and reiterated his determination to try to kill it.

Netanyahu has repeatedly talked up sabotaging the nuclear negotiations on Israeli media, but this was the first time he was so overt about leading the anti-diplomacy push on US media.

He tried to prevent the push against the current deal as a push for a “better deal,” though that hypothetical deal that Netanyahu might accept is so far-fetched US officials say it wasn’t even worth bringing up at the talks to the other Western nations, let alone Iran.

Webmaster's Commentary:

A memo to Bibi Netanyahu: sir, as the Prime Minister of a nation which has had nuclear weapons for 40 years, as we now understand from the US government's declassification of documents proving the US assisted you in developing those weapons, how do you have the hubristic effrontery to rail against a country which is working with the world to create a framework through which to manage their nuclear energy program?

Iran is a signatory to the NNPT: and Israel, which has developed nuclear weapons, refuses to sign it, or allow its weapons sites to be inspected. Additionally, Israel is not a party to the P 5+1 deal at all.

Right now, the one country which needs to re-assess its position on this deal is Israel, period, end of discussion.

And I would like to suggest that Rivero's Rangers quietly and calmly, and politely contact their Congressional Representatives to say that any attempt to veto this agreements) will demonstrate that they are a representative of a foreign power, and are not addressing the needs and concerns of We the People.

Let them know that you know this is precisely what AIPAC expects, and if that is what they intend to do, their next political campaign will be a complete exercise in futility.

Benjamin Netanyahu vows to continue quest to derail Iran nuclear deal

Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed to continue his campaign to derail the nuclear deal with Iran even as several leading Republicans suggested they were prepared to give the White House some breathing room to reach a final agreement.

While debate continued in the US, Mohammad Zarif, Iran’s foreign minister, said his country “will be able to return” to its nuclear activities if the West does not honour its agreement to lift sanctions.

The Israeli prime minister has been a vociferous opponent of the talks with Tehran and urged the US Congress to step in and prevent President Barack Obama from making a deal that “endangers our survival”.

Who’s Playing “Hide and Cheat”?

Not surprisingly, the painfully negotiated pact was denounced by Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, who has repeatedly, and illegally, threatened Iran over its alleged desire to build an atomic bomb. But Obama’s rebuff of Netanyahu’s position was well deserved, given Israel’s record of stealing American military secrets and spying on private American talks with its allies.

If Iran had been guilty of such crimes, the American public would now be deaf from the outcry of the Republicans in Congress. Americans need to remember that Jonathan Jay Pollard, an American civilian naval intelligence analyst, pleaded guilty in 1987 to selling classified information to Israel. At least 800 documents were snitched. Pollard, who became an Israeli citizen, sits in a U.S. prison today in Butner, N.C., serving a life sentence. Former Defense Secretary Casper Weinberger said his espionage “would cause the greatest harm to our national security.”

Netanyahu in US media blitz against Iran deal

Obama and his aides have been using the Easter weekend to speak to senators and representatives from both the Democratic and Republican parties in an attempt to persuade them that the proposed agreement with Iran is the most effective way of blocking Iran's path to a nuclear weapon. For Netanyahu, the most important target audience is Democratic legislators torn between their loyalty to Obama and their traditional support for Israel. In the end, it is the Democratic legislators who will decide whether the Senate will be able to override a presidential veto on legislation designed to overturn the deal with Iran.

Israel destroys home of blind brothers in East Jerusalem

More than one hundred Israeli soldiers turned up at Nureddin Amro’s home at 5:30 in the morning last Tuesday, accompanied by bulldozers and dogs. It quickly became clear that the soldiers had one item on their agenda: demolition.

Nureddin tried to reason with the soldiers, only to be told “you cannot negotiate with us,” he said.

“We tried to oppose it [the demolition], but they pushed all of us inside the house and started to hit the kids and the women,” he added. “They started to beat us and to point their weapons at us.”

Twelve people lived in the Amro house in the Wadi al-Joz neighborhood of occupied East Jerusalem.

They included Nureddin and his brother, Sharif, both of whom are blind, their wives and seven children, all under fourteen years old. When the family did not immediately leave the house, a soldier threatened them and said he would demolish the house while they were still inside, Nureddin said.

US-Israel Wage War on Iran in Syria

The ongoing conflict in Syria has always been a proxy conflict aimed at Iran, as well as nearby Russia, and more distant China. As far back as 2007, two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Seymour Hersh warned in his 9-page New Yorker report “The Redirection Is the Administration’s new policy benefitting our enemies in the war on terrorism?,” that a region-wide sectarian war was being engineered by the US, Saudi Arabia, and Israel – all of whom were working in concert even in 2007, to build the foundation of a sectarian militant army.

Raimondo: The Iran Deal

It’s a good one – but can it survive the US Congress?

Israel has been threatening to attack Iran unilaterally for years, including during these negotiations, and they are not above launching a provocation – one that will ignite a conflict that would envelope the entire Middle East and much of the world.

As I said in my last column, the US Congress is the catch, the fly in the ointment that could nix this deal and lead us down the path to another war in the Middle East. Nothing has been signed. What we have is a framework, one that will lead to a fuller agreement in June – if Congress doesn’t step in and stop it.

Wall Street Journal: Israel Caught Red-handed Aiding al-Qaeda in Syria

What US and European media have been slow to figure out (or ignore), is how Israel is up to its neck in fueling the long dirty war next door in Syria.

Let’s be clear – once again Israel has been caught red-handed providing aid and comfort to Islamic militant terrorists in Syria, as reported by the Wall Street Journal (see full report below). Understand that this flies in the face of all of Benjamin ‘Bibi’ Netanyahu and the US Republican Party’s lyrical proclamations and hollow platitudes about how Israel is ‘leading the fight against terror’ in the region.

Netanyahu Insists Iran Deal Includes His Demands

He elevates chutzpah to a higher level. He and likeminded Israeli lunatics reject framework agreed on terms.

They want their own imposed - or no deal at all. They want Iran denied the right to develop and use peaceful, legitimate nuclear power like dozens of other nations not criticized.

They want final say over any future agreement. Ideally, they want none at all.

They want Iran isolated and weakened. They want its government ousted.

They want Israel's main regional rival eliminated. They're willing to wage war to achieve their objectives.

Webmaster's Commentary:

And they want Americans kids to have to fight that war!

I have finally reached the sad conclusion, after much soul-searching, that the beautiful woman known as “Madame Rothschild”, whose articles we have been publishing on our site, is a fictitious character. She does not exist. She is a figment of the Jewish imagination, a cartoon character created by some unknown entity employed by organized Jewry.

Good News and Bad News

For Israel, there's good news and bad news after Iran deal

Although Iran's nuclear project will be monitored for at least a decade, the deal also grants it recognition as a power to be reckoned with.

HAARETZ: The framework agreement crafted Thursday in Lausanne between Iran and the world powers is a historic step. After nearly 13 years of on-and-off negotiations, a deal aims to stop the progress of Iran’s nuclear program for an extended period.
***
From an Israeli perspective, the relatively good news is that Iran’s nuclear project will be monitored for at least a decade. For now, it seems that during this time Iran’s chances of developing a nuclear weapon will decline significantly.
***
The bad news is not only that Iran’s economy, which has taken a double-barreled blow from both sanctions and declining oil prices, is expected to recover quickly, but that Iran has also achieved recognition from the world powers for two elements it greatly needs. The powers now acknowledge, indirectly, that Iran is a nuclear threshold state, and no less importantly, they accept Iran as a force to be reckoned with throughout the Middle East.

Palestinians clash with Daesh in Yarmouk Camp

Intense clashes continue between Palestinian armed factions and Daesh, who took over most of the Palestinian refugee camp of Yarmouk near the Syrian capital, Damascus.

Daesh militants stormed the camp on April 1, apparently in tandem with rivals from the al-Qaeda-linked al-Nusra Front, even though the two groups have fought bloody battles against each other in other parts of Syria.

The terrorists attacked Yarmouk, home to Palestinian refugees since 1957 and located on the edge of the Syrian capital, in an attempt to kill a reconciliation deal between Palestinian armed factions inside the camp and more moderate groups seeking to keep the site away from the crisis in Syria.

Arab-Israeli Wars and Conflicts (1948-Present)

This page shows conflicts between the Arab nations (as a group), and Israel. As a rule, a legal state of war has existed between Israel and her Arab enemies since the beginning of the first war in 1948. Egypt signed a peace treaty with Israel in 1979, and Jordan made peace in 1994. The Palestine Authority, headed by Yassir Arafat and his Al-Fatah faction of the Palestine Liberation Organization negotiated a semi-peace, which, from mid-2000 on, has been destroyed through the “Al-Aqsa” Intifada violence. Other Palestinian groups, most notably Hamas, have been at war with Israel continuously. Although Israel and most Arab nations are technically in a continuous state of war, unless otherwise noted, specific outbreaks of fighting are considered to be separate wars.

Israel’s propagandists shoot themselves in the foot as they shoot off their mouths

They are known by the language they use: depraved sexual insults, bile, bigotry, threats, disinformation and character assassination. That’s right: I’m talking about “hasbarats,” Zionist trolls who infect the Internet with hasbara, pro-Israel propaganda. Of course, mainstream media hasbarats have been around for decades, as have “hasbaratchiks,” fifth-columns in foreign governments who subvert national policies to serve Israel. The Internet, though, is the latest, some might say the greatest, propaganda playground, and Israel cannot cope with factual, passionate, well-documented stories that expose its war crimes and unrepentant criminality.

US-Israel Wage War on Iran in Syria

The ongoing conflict in Syria has always been a proxy conflict aimed at Iran, as well as nearby Russia, and more distant China. As far back as 2007, two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Seymour Hersh warned in his 9-page New Yorker report “The Redirection Is the Administration’s new policy benefitting our enemies in the war on terrorism?” that a region-wide sectarian war was being engineered by the US, Saudi Arabia, and Israel – all of whom were working in concert even in 2007, to build the foundation of a sectarian militant army.

The report would cite various serving and former US officials who warned that the extremists the West was backing were “preparing for cataclysmic conflict.”

In retrospect, considering the emergence of the so-called “Islamic State” (ISIS), Hersh’s warning has turned out to be prophetic...

The Balance of Terror - Who’s Afraid of Iran’s Big Bad Bomb?

According to foreign experts, Israel has several hundred nuclear bombs (assessments vary between 80-400. If Iran sends its bombs and obliterates most of Israel (myself included), Israeli submarines will obliterate Iran. Whatever I might think about Binyamin Netanyahu, I rely on him and our security chiefs to keep our “second strike” capability intact. Just last week we were informed that Germany had delivered another state-of-the-art submarine to our navy for this purpose.

Israeli idiots – and there are some around – respond: “Yes, but the Iranian leaders are not normal people. They are madmen. Religious fanatics. They will risk the total destruction of Iran just to destroy the Zionist state. Like exchanging queens in chess.”

Such convictions are the outcome of decades of demonizing. Iranians – or at least their leaders – are seen as subhuman miscreants.
