AIPAC Still Our Biggest Foreign Agent

Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman JW Fulbright became convinced that unregistered Israeli foreign agents were a serious matter in 1961. A classified staff report worried that:

"In recent years there has been an increasing number of incidents involving attempts by foreign governments, or their agents, to influence the conduct of American foreign policy by techniques outside normal diplomatic channels….there have been occasions when representatives of other governments have been privately accused of engaging in covert activities within the United States and elsewhere, for the purpose of influencing United States Policy (the Lavon Affair)."

The Lavon Affair referred to Israeli false-flag terror attacks on US facilities in Egypt, in the interest of preventing the handover of the Suez Canal to Egyptian control. The Israeli spies were caught and prosecuted by Egypt, while the disclosure of the attacks created a diplomatic crisis.

THE US DEEP STATE: SABOTAGING PUTIN-TRUMP CEASEFIRE AGREEMENT IN SYRIA

The meeting between Trump and Putin at the G20 in Hamburg injects new hope into the complicated relationship between the United States and Russia. Only time can confirm whether there is any basis for this hope.

In their first meeting, within less than two hours, Putin and Trump came to an agreement on potentially the most volatile situation in the region, saving hundreds of civilian lives in the process. The agreement on Syria now has to run the gauntlet of the deep state and all the other interests arrayed against Trump. Just four days following a similar agreement reached in 2016 between Obama and Putin, everything was upended by the US Air Force bombing and killing nearly a hundred soldiers of the Syrian Arab Army in Deir ez-Zor, shredding the ceasefire agreement that had just been reached.

Webmaster's Commentary:

What Putin and Trump agreed upon here makes every bit of logical sense; which is why both Israel and the American Deep State are adamantly opposed to it, because it diminishes war as any kind of solution to regime change Damascus, and makes it more dicey for Israel to nibble off any more bits of Syrian territory than it already has with its illegal occupation of the Golan Heights.

ISRAEL REJECTS US, RUSSIA SYRIAN CEASEFIRE DEAL – PRESENTS LIST OF DEMANDS

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has made clear today that he and his government opposes the ongoing ceasefire in Southern Syria, a deal negotiated between the United States and Russia, and which has continued to hold throughout the past week.

Netanyahu made the comments during a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron, declaring himself totally opposed to the ceasefire. Israeli officials revealed that the objections are primarily related to Iran still having forces inside Syria supporting the Assad government.

Israeli officials revealed that the objections are primarily related to Iran still having forces inside Syria supporting the Assad government.

Officials also say that during the US-Russia negotiations which led to the deal, Netanyahu presented the two sides with a “list of demands,” mostly insisting that Shi’ite forces couldn’t be allowed in southern Syria at all and that Iran could not be allowed to “consolidate” its position in Syria.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, a word please: neither you, nor your government, are in any kind if legitimate position to make these "demands" on Russia, the Syrian Government, Iran, or the United States.

I would like to politely remind you that Russia (and some elements of Iranian forces) are in Syria at that government's invitation; Israel was not invited at all to be here.

And BTW, sir, none of these demands legitimizes your illegal occupation of Syria's Golan Heights; not now, and not ever!!

Iranian Airport in Central Syria, Israel Alludes to Targeting it

Israel uncovered on Friday that Iran has lately leased from the Assad regime an airport in central Syria, hinting it would target it.

Israeli military sources asserted that Tel Aviv would not allow Tehran to lease an airport in Syria, and would also confront current Syrian-Iranian negotiations to establish a land base capable of supporting Iranian-linked fighters.

According to the same sources, the land base would be able to back 5,000 Iranian militiamen believed to be mercenaries from Afghanistan and Pakistan under the command of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards.

Call of Duty: Israel’s New Tourist Attraction Allows Guests to ‘Shoot Palestinian Terrorists’

The latest tourist attraction created by Israelis has taken guests by storm. Those visiting Israel are now able to enter an illegal settlement in the West Bank, where they’re offered the ultimate Israeli experience pretending to be a soldier shooting “terrorist” Palestinians in a new simulator.

In the illegal Israeli settlement of Gush Etzion, located between southern Jerusalem and Bethlehem, lies Caliber 3, a “counter-terrorism” academy that created a new concept in an attempt to allow the average tourist to experience how it feels to be an Israeli soldier.

Visitors partake in various activities, such as shooting “targets” with real bullets, and a simulation of a suicide bombing, as well as a stabbing. The programme is available for adults and children, and even carries a three-month-long summer camp for teenage boys to give them the ultimate IDF experience.

They are also taught krav maga, a form of fighting created by Israeli security forces.

Recently, Pink Floyd co-founder Roger Waters has been in the news, not for his North America musical tour but for his politics. As an outspoken supporter of Palestine, he has come up against the Israel lobby in many western countries.

Recently, various pro-Israel activists have financed the making of a film against Waters called Wish You Weren’t Here,a mockery of the Pink Floyd album and song Wish You Were Here.

Even among politically minded musicians, few talk about the Israel/Palestine issue. Israel’s Ever-more Sadistic Reprisals Help Shore Up a Sense of Victimhood

The panic and cruelty plumbed new depths last week, when Israeli officials launched a $2.3 million lawsuit against the family of Fadi Qanbar, who crashed a truck into soldiers in Jerusalem in January, killing four. He was shot dead at the scene.

The suit demands that his widow, Tahani, reimburse the state for the compensation it awarded the soldiers’ families. If she cannot raise the astronomic sum, the debt will pass to her four children, the oldest of whom is currently only seven.

Israel is reported to be preparing many similar cases.

Like other families of Palestinians who commit attacks, the Qanbars are homeless, after Israel sealed their East Jerusalem home with cement. Twelve relatives were also stripped of their residency papers as a prelude to expelling them to the West Bank.

Israel Bill Would Order Courts to Give Priority to Jewishness Over Democracy

Israel’s far-right coalition continues to grapple with different variations of a new draft bill that seeks to give Israel’s status as a Jewish nation-state primacy over all other legal concerns, including potential conflicts with being a democracy.

The latest revision defines Israel as “a Jewish and Democratic state,” but makes clear the first part is more important than the second part, explicitly ordering the Israeli High Court to favor Israel’s Jewish character over its democracy when the two issues conflict.

This is a particularly important issue for parts of the far-right coalition that complain the High Court often overrules some of the more overtly anti-democratic moves they try to make, usually involving hasty attempts to ban all Arab parties from participating in elections.

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF this bill gets passed (and right now, I would suggest that this will happen), it will further marginalise Arab Israelis to the point of complete legal insignificance in the Israeli electoral system, and the courts.

TWO ISRAELI COMPANIES: SPYING ON THE WORLD

In 2008, Amy Goodman of Democracy Now interviewed Bamford as his latest book, The Shadow Factory, was being released.

Bamford explained that, in the 1990s, everything changed for NSA. Previously, they’d been able to intercept electronic communications by using big dishes to capture what was coming down to Earth from telecom satellites.

But with the shift to fiber-optic cables, NSA was shut out. So they devised new methods.

For example, they set up a secret spy room at an AT&T office in San Francisco. NSA installed new equipment that enabled them to tap into the fiber-optic cables and suck up all traffic.

How Bamford describes this, in 2008, tells you exactly where the PRISM program came from:

“NSA began making these agreements with AT&T and other companies, and that in order to get access to the actual cables, they had to build these secret rooms in these buildings.

Webmaster's Commentary:

There are a couple of problems with all of this data-mining and sharing by US intelligent agencies.

First, the bad guys already have a "Rolls Royce" standard of encryption that the NSA cannot, generally break.

And secondly, with all the data being collected, those gatherers of this intel are simply drowning in it; there's just too much.

'But sir, it’s an American ship.' 'Never mind, hit her!' When Israel attacked USS Liberty

'The Americans have findings that show our pilots were aware the ship was American,' a newly published document by the State Archives says.

Israel apologized and paid compensation to the victims’ families. Israeli and American commissions of inquiry found that the attack was a mistake. But naturally, as often happens in such events, to this day there are some who believe Israel attacked the ship with malicious intent.

A conspiracy? Healthy suspicion? Call it what you will. A new book published in May in the United States (its authors include several survivors of the attack) promises that “the truth is being told as never before and the real story revealed.” The 302 pages of “Remember the Liberty!: Almost Sunk by Treason on the High Seas” include quite a number of documents, testimonies, arguments and information that were gathered in the subsequent 50 years.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The attack on the USS Liberty, by the Israeli military was absolutely no mistake, and from what I have read by experts on the matter, the proposal that President Lyndon Johnson may well have been behind the attack, in order to get the US to join the 6 Day War, could potentially be feasible.

And please remember: when the survivors were awarded their medals in a closed, private ceremony, and not by President Johnson, but by the Secretary of the Navy at the Washington Navy Yard.

Israeli military trial begins for prominent Palestinian activist

Prominent Palestinian activist Issa Amro went on trial in an Israeli military court Sunday on accusations of inciting violence, charges rights groups call a bid to silence him.

The trial began at the Ofer military court in the occupied West Bank, but was adjourned until October 22 after two witnesses testified.

Amro is the founder of Youth Against Settlements, a campaign group in the city of Hebron in the West Bank.

In June 2016, he was charged with 18 counts, some dating back to 2010, according to Amnesty International.

Speaking to reporters outside the court, the 37-year-old called the trial a "joke" and said he had no trust that Israel's military justice system would treat him fairly.

His lawyer Gaby Lasky told reporters the "Israeli military cannot stop non-violent demonstrations with weapons, so they're doing it through criminalisation of ... freedom of speech and freedom of demonstration."

Webmaster's Commentary:

It is interesting that the Israeli government believed that it couldn't get a conviction from a civilian jury; that is why they went with a military trial, to make sure the kangaroo court-generated charges stick, and Amro is imprisoned for most of the rest of his life.

South Syria Ceasefire Takes Effect, Is Holding

US and Russian officials both heralded the official start of the new ceasefire in southern Syria, which they agreed upon Friday, with National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster saying the deal is an important “anti-terrorism” move, and Russian President Vladimir Putin saying it signals a more pragmatic US position on Syria.

From the US position, the goal is to prevent further defeats of rebels in southern Syria, and to prevent the Syrian government from connecting a land route to neighboring Iraq, a policy seen as particularly important to both Israel and Jordan.

With Syria having a narrow de facto link to Iraq already, however, the Russian government sees the move primarily as aimed at preventing the US from carrying out any more attacks against Syrian government forces and their allies, something the US has almost exclusively done in the new ceasefire zone.

THE SAUDI-ISRAELI ALLIANCE

The evolving relationship between Israel and Saudi Arabia is set to become a key feature of regional politics in the forthcoming phase. This goes beyond the creeping normalization of relations between the two sides and the holding of discreet contacts, to the formation of an undeclared but far-reaching alliance.

Retired Saudi general Anwar al-Eshki shed some light on this in an interview last week on the German TV channel Deutsche Welle, in which he provided insights into a number of unexplained issues: most importantly, why Saudi Arabia has been so adamant about getting the Red Sea islands of Tiran and Sanafir transferred from Egypt’s sovereignty to its own as quickly a possible.

Webmaster's Commentary:

These agreements give Israel time to create a mass extinction of a large number of Palestinians, along with the usual indefinite jailings with no due process; direct and indirect assassinations (withholding clean food and water, and not allowing desperately ill people to seek proper medical treatment); and massive annexation of the West Bank and East Jerusalem.

Number one on my little list is Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley, who is particularly dangerous as she is holding a position where she can do bad things. Israel ‘giving secret aid to Syrian rebels’, report says

Israel has allegedly provided Syrian rebels with substantial funding and aid in order to maintain a buffer zone in the Golan Heights border area between the country and its war-torn neighbour, it has emerged.

The Israeli authorities have provided significant amounts of cash, food, fuel and medical supplies to Sunni rebels fighting against Bashar al-Assad’s government, the Wall Street Journal reported on Monday, citing "half a dozen rebels and three people familiar with Israel's thinking."

Is is well known that Israel has provided medical help for Syrian civilians and fighters inside its own borders in the past. The authorities have retaliated to occasional stray rockets in the restive border region with reprisals, but it was previously thought that the Israeli authorities largely stay out of the complicated six-year-old conflict next door.

Putin’s Assessment of Trump at the G-20 Will Determine Our Future

The backdrops to the Putin/Trump meeting are the aspirations of Israel and the neoconservatives. It is these aspirations that drive US foreign policy.

What is Syria about? Why is Washington so focused on overthrowing the elected president of Syria? What explains the sudden 21st century appearance of “the Muslim threat”? How is Washington’s preoccupation with “the Muslim threat” consistent with Washington’s wars against Saddam Hussein, Gaddafi, and Assad, leaders who suppressed jihadism? What explains the sudden appearance of “the Russian threat” which has been hyped into dangerous Russophobia without any basis in fact?

The Muslim threat, the Russian threat, and the lies used to destroy Iraq, Libya, and parts of Syria are all orchestrations to serve Israeli and neoconservative aspirations.

Webmaster's Commentary:

US, Israel Furious Over UN Hebron Heritage Designation

Both the US and Israel are reacting with outrage today and threatening to defund UNESCO, following the international body’s recognition that the Tomb of Patriarchs, in Israeli-occupied Hebron, is a World Heritage site, and one that is considered “in danger.”

The Tomb of Patriarchs, also the Ibrahimi Mosque, is believed to be the burial place of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. It is considered the second holiest site in Judaism, and the fourth holiest in Islam. The UNESCO ruling noted the repeated vandalism and property damage in the area, related to settlements.

The US is mostly outraged because Israel is outraged, with Ambassador Nikki Haley describing the recognition of the mosque as Islamic as “an affront to history” and suggesting that the US might totally withdraw support for UNESCO in the future for hurting the peace process.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Ambassador Haley, to what are you alluding when you make the statement that this designation of the Tomb of the Patriarchs as a world heritage site might cause the US to "totally withdraw support for UNESCO in the future for hurting the peace process"?!?

Because there is no peace process between Israel and the Palestinians; what is happening here is simply brisk Israeli annexations of East Jerusalem and the West Bank by Israel which wind up as Jewish-only settlements.

And this is the real "affront" not only to Palestinian history, but also the future of the Palestinian people!!

The vote means that Hebron’s Old City and the Ibrahimi mosque, the place where an American Jewish settler massacred 29 Palestinians in 1994, will be added as Palestinian World Heritage sites on UNESCO’s register.

Both sites are also now considered endangered, which means the UNESCO’s World Heritage Committee will convene every year to evaluate their status.

The family obeyed the order, evacuating the three-story building as their neighbors gathered round.

About an hour later, a drone-fired missile hit the solar water tank on the building’s rooftop.

Israeli Officer Shot Dead During Training Exercise While Pretending to be a Palestinian

Lethal force against Palestinians is common in Tel Rumeida, where roughly 850 Israeli settlers and a heavy military presence occupy Palestinian territory. An Israeli Army officer was accidentally shot and killed by one of his own troops during a training operation in which he was pretending to be a Palestinian at an Israeli military checkpoint in the occupied West Bank on Tuesday.

Donate to Yousef in Palestine

Hello, My name is Yousef Al Qarra, I’m a 17 year old Palestinian living in Gaza. I recently graduated from high school. I created this fundraising campaign to raise Pakcoin donations for food for my family. We are a family of nine people; including my mother, father, two sisters, four brothers and myself.

The economic situation in Gaza is very bad. My father suffers from chronic back pain from a work injury he had a few years ago. As for my brothers and me it’s extremely difficult for us to find work here and the ongoing economic blockade by the Israelis makes surviving here even worse...

Unesco declares Hebron's Old City Palestinian World Heritage site

Unesco has designated Hebron's Old City and the Tomb of the Patriarchs in the occupied West Bank a Palestinian World Heritage site despite Israeli protests.

A resolution passed by a committee of the UN cultural agency also put them on a list of sites considered "in danger".

The Tomb of the Patriarchs - also known as the Ibrahimi Mosque - is revered by Jews, Muslim and Christians as Abraham, Isaac and Jacob's burial place.

It is the second holiest site in Judaism and the fourth in Islam.

Israel Wants US, Not Russia, to Control Deescalation Zones in Syria - Reports

Israel opposes Russian military forces overseeing deescalation zones in southern Syria near its borders, and wants US troops to control ceasefire there, and additionally hopes that talks on these zones will be separated from the negotiations on Syrian settlement in Astana, in which Iran and Turkey participate, local media reported Friday.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Ignoring that little detail that Russia is in Syria at the request of the Syrian government, while the US presence in Syria is illegal under international law. But then, when did Israel ever care about international law?

Israeli Rabbi Asks West Bank Settlers to Poison Palestinian Water

Israeli Jewish Rabbi Shlomo Mlma asked on Sunday Israeli Jewish settlers to poison Palestinian water resources in order to kill them.

Mlma, the chairman of the Council of Rabbis in the West Bank settlements, asked the settlers to do so in order to cleanse the Palestinians from the West Bank cities and villages.

According to Israeli anti-occupation organisation “Breaking the Silence,” the rabbi wanted the Israeli Jewish settlers to push the Palestinians to leave their villages and pave the way for settlers to take over their lands.

Dozens of similar orders were made by rabbis that called for killing Palestinians, robbing their lands and farmlands and destroying their property.

International law views the West Bank and East Jerusalem as occupied territories and considers all Jewish settlement building on the land to be illegal.

Trump: Toward War in the Middle East

Now comes President Donald Trump. His policies for the Middle East are similar to those of the previous two administrations but on steroids. Trump has already escalated the wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, and Yemen. When Trump sends his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, to solve the seventy-year-old Palestinian-Israeli conflict, Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu cannot hide his happiness with the appointment. The Democrats and the media are too busy with election results, hacking, and the Russian probe to pay much attention to Middle East policy, with one exception – Israel.

Webmaster's Commentary:

However, this time, unlike the situation in Iraq, there is a 6,000 lb gorilla, snoozing on the Bosendorfer, regarding further American military misadventures in the Middle East; it goes by the name of Russia, and will, should Iran be attacked, to Iran's aid militarily.

IF, in fact, the US goes to war against Iran, to appease its Israeli handlers, look for the reinstitution of a draft, for both men and women; an horrific decline in the US economy; and the possibility that the US military may well not be able to emerge victorious from the conflict.

‘Water occupation’ of Palestine

There are few crimes more despicable than stealing your neighbour’s water, and polluting what’s left, then watching him and his children suffer thirst, disease and ruin. Most of us would want nothing to do with the perpetrators of such evil.

British Water describes itself as the voice of the water industry. It talks about best practice and corporate responsibility, and lobbies governments and regulators on behalf of its members. No doubt it does a good job. It also has international ambitions including in the Middle East. So presumably it knows what’s going on water-wise in the Holy Land.

British Water should know, for example, that the 400-mile long structure known worldwide as Israel’s Apartheid Wall bites deep into the Palestinian West Bank dividing and isolating communities and stealing their lands and water.

At UN Meeting Near Auschwitz, Israel Calls for Minute’s Silence; Cuba Requests One for the Palestinians

Cuba’s delegate at a U.N. meeting an hour’s drive from the site of a Nazi extermination camp in Poland objected Tuesday to an Israeli request for a minute’s silence for Holocaust victims – then called for another one, for the Palestinians. The meeting of the U.N. Education Science and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) heritage committee had earlier passed an Arab-initiated measure denouncing Israeli activity in Jerusalem’s Old City and declaring it an “occupying power” in the city. Israeli ambassador Carmel Shama HaCohen noted the proximity of Auschwitz to the meeting and linked modern-day efforts to separate the Jewish people from their ancient capital to Hitler’s campaign.
Note: Except it wasn't an extermination camp. They had 11 orchestra, a hospital, soccer field, brothel, script money to purchase articles. When will this end. When you say it does.

Germany okays deal to sell nuke-capable submarines to Israel

Germany's national security council approved the sale of three more nuclear-capable submarines to Israel for a combined price of some $1.3 billion, in a deal marred by controversy surrounding corruption allegations against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The Israeli Navy currently maintains a fleet of five state-of-the-art German underwater vessels of the Dolphin Class, which can be equipped with nuclear warheads, with a sixth due for delivery this year ... Submarines, unmatched in their ability to hide from enemy navies, have long been a major facet of Israel's defense policy. Israeli subs are reportedly armed with cruise missiles topped with nuclear warheads, affording the tiny Jewish state "second strike" capabilities ...
Note: And a first strike ability.....scares the hell out of me!

Israel Seizes Solar Panels Donated to Palestinians, Smashes Electronics

The Dutch government has lodged a formal protest with Israel after it was revealed that Israeli forces raided the Palestinian village of Jubbet al-Dhib, in southern Bethlehem, and seized scores of solar panels they had donated to try to provide electricity to the villagers.

The overall project was estimated to cost about $400,000, including panels, a diesel micro-generator, and assorted electronics. The panels are estimated to be worth $40,000 alone, and the Netherlands is demanding that Israel return them.

Even if they got the panels back, however, the project is effectively dead, with the Israeli forces that removed the panels also smashing up all the electronics while they were there, to make sure they could never be used again. Israeli officials insist this was appropriate, and that no one had permission to put solar panels in the village in the first place, meaning it gave them implicit permission to destroy the electronics.

Israel Plans to Evict Palestinians for East Jerusalem Construction Plan

Israel intends to move forward with plans to expand Jewish-only neighborhoods that have been built in the middle of an Arab neighborhood in occupied East Jerusalem, and in the next two weeks, at least five Palestinian families will be evicted from their homes to make way for the expansions.

The far-right Israeli government has made much of their intention to expand what are essentially settlements, but which since Israel nominally annexed East Jerusalem they claim is a distinct expansion of housing in a religiously-exclusive manner, for quite some time.

Since President Trump’s election, Israeli politicians have believed themselves more or less free to expand settlements, particularly in East Jerusalem, as quickly as they want without fear of serious reprimand from the US, and by extension from the UN.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Where are the evicted Palestinians supposed to go?!?

Is anyone documenting these evictions?!? Because if not, someone should be!!

$570k per dead IDF soldier: Israel launches first lawsuit against family of Palestinian attacker

Israel has filed a lawsuit against the widow and children of a Palestinian man, who killed four IDF soldiers in a truck-ramming attack, demanding compensation of 2 million shekels ($572,000) for each victim, in what authorities say will be a permanent new anti-terrorism tactic.
Proceedings were opened by The District Prosecutor’s Office in Jerusalem, in conjunction with the Defense Ministry, against the estate of Fadi Al-Qanbar, who was shot dead after his January attack, in which thirteen people were also injured.

“This lawsuit, which stems from a terrorist incident in which soldiers were murdered, is designed to recover the expenses incurred in events of this kind to the state’s coffers, as well as sending a clear message that the state will also settle accounts on a civil level with the perpetrators of hostile acts,” read a statement from the District Prosecutor’s office, as cited by Haaretz.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Forgive me, but have the District Prosecutor’s Office in Jerusalem and the IDF gone collectively, absolutely foaming-at-the-mouth, barking mad, to have instituted this lawsuit against a widow and 4 kids, aged 1 to 8?!?

What if the estate just doesn't have anything to offer, in terms of compensation?!? Does Israel intend to jail, or execute the wife and kids of this man, in cold blood, to "set an example for the others"?!?

Right now, given the wretchedly apartheid culture which defines 21st century Israel, I very frankly would not bet against such possible outcomes.

Israel has attacked Syrian military positions for the sixth time in over 10 days in response to alleged errant mortar fire from Syria’s Golan Heights.

"In response to projectiles launched earlier today at Israel from Syria, Israeli forces targeted the Syrian military artillery position that was the source of the previous fire," read a statement released by the Tel Aviv regime on Saturday.

It added that both of errant rounds which landed in the occupied Golan Heights were the "result of internal fighting in Syria."

Gaza: Israel’s Experiment on Humans in Situations of Extreme Stress and Deprivation

One of the biggest experiments involving human subjects ever conducted anywhere is taking place right before our eyes, and the world is silent.

The project is at its peak and the world shows no interest. This experiment on human beings, unsanctioned by any of the international scientific institutions whose oversight is required by the Helsinki Declaration, seeks to examine human behaviour in situations of extreme stress and deprivation.

The experimental group does not comprise just a few, nor dozens or hundreds, nor thousands or tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands of people. The experimental population includes no fewer than two million human beings.

Thus far they have stood the test amazingly well. While some turbulence is evident inside the pressure cooker within which they are confined, it has not yet exploded. The Gaza Strip is being watched to see when and in what form it will ultimately explode. This is apparently only a matter of time.

When Will Russia Challenge US and Israeli Aggression in Syria?

Washington, Israel and their rogue allies are at war on Syria – naked aggression against a sovereign independent state threatening no one.

Both countries supply ISIS and other terrorists with arms, munitions and other material support – supported by terror-bombing, daily by US warplanes, Israel at its discretion, its sixth attack in the last 10 days occurring Saturday, an unjustifiably pretext cited like all previous incidents, saying:
“In response to projectiles launched earlier today at Israel from Syria, Israeli forces targeted the Syrian military artillery position that was the source of the previous fire.”

No casualties or damage was reported. So-called errant mortar fire or other projectiles almost certainly came from US and Israeli-supported terrorists – providing unjustifiable justification for IDF aggression.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Stephen Lendman is a fine writer, but I think he misses the heart of the intent by those in the bowels of power in the Unhinged Surveilled State of America, and that intent is to create a false flag, either in Syria or elsewhere, to be blamed on Russia, as the "justification" to start a war against it, as completely mad as such a scenario might be.

Otherwise, why would NATO have encircled Russia with its troops and equipment, as it has been for the last several years?!?

The Qatar Crisis, Shockwaves Throughout The Middle East

In the wake of the Arab uprisings, we are now seeing an assertion of both of these tendencies. Specifically, the current blockade is a play by Saudi Arabia and the UAE to fully assert their hegemony over the region and to put Qatar back in its place.

But this is not just about Saudi Arabia and the UAE; it fundamentally expresses a general counterrevolutionary process that has been present since the beginning of the uprisings – restoring the status quo of authoritarian neoliberal states that has served the interests of the GCC as a whole (including Qatar) for several decades. All of this must also be seen through the lens of the Gulf’s continued and ever-strengthening alliance with the U.S. and other Western powers.

Trump aides end all doubt about whose side they’ll be on in the next great peace process

We try to avoid giving the “peace process” too much credibility because it was supposed to deliver Palestinians sovereignty 20 years ago (or 70) and it never has. But recent days have seen several incidents that have dashed any thought that Donald Trump would be neutral or an honest broker. So here we go again.

A week ago Jason Greenblatt, Trump’s longtime real-estate lawyer and special representative for Middle East peace, went out to Israel and Palestine and spent most of his time on the Israeli side of the equation: sitting shiva with the family of an Israeli police officer allegedly killed by three Palestinians inside occupied Jerusalem and describing that as an act of terrorism– “She was murdered by terrorists.” Greenblatt also prayed at the Western Wall and chatted up the prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is one of many profound disappointments I have had with President Trump; he has provided a completely, one-sided, miserable rubber stamp on Israel's wretchedly apartheid policy toward the Palestinians, which includes assassinations and brisk annexations in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.

Israeli Army unit crosses Blue Line on Lebanon’s south east border

An Israeli Army unit Saturday crossed the Blue Line on Lebanon’s southeast border, before withdrawing later in the afternoon, a source told The Daily Star.

An Israeli Army infantry unit, with the support of two Merkava tanks, five Hummer vehicles and a military SUV, crossed the Blue Line that was demarcated after the Israeli Army withdrew in 2000, opposite the Bawabat Hassan neighborhood in Hasbaya’s Kfar Shuba, Hezbollah's War Media center had said on Twitter.

The breach is one of many routine violations of the Blue Line, the source said.

Israeli Defense Minister Warns Syria, Lebanon: Don't Test Us

The Israeli defense minister said on Sunday that while Israel maintains a policy of staying out of the raging Syrian Civil War, breaches of the country's territorial sovereignty won't be tolerated.

"We have no intention of entering any conflict, but I advise our neighbors not to test us," Lieberman told military journalists during a briefing at the Kirya military headquarters in Tel Aviv, as cited by the Jerusalem Post.

"We will not tolerate any spillover into our territory."

He added that Syria and Lebanon already know that it is not a good idea to test Israel's military strength, implying the retaliatory strikes.

Additionally, Lieberman pointed out that Israel is ready to support a peace process in Syria — unless it involves Iran, Hezbollah or Assad.

"Keeping Assad in power is not in our security interests," he told reporters.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Translation of Liebermanspeak: we are setting up a situation which will necessitate a greater Israeli involvement in the Syrian war, to ensure an outcome to our liking.

US Falsely Accuses Iran of Violating Nuclear Deal

It’s very difficult to accuse Iran of being in violation of the P5+1 nuclear deal, because they are plainly not. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), which is responsible for policing the deal, confirms on a monthly basis that this remains the case, and that Iran has not been in violation of the pact.

That’s an inconvenience for the Trump Administration, which has repeatedly condemned the deal and insisted Iran would violate it. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley appears to have decided that the path of least resistance is overt lying, today claiming at the UN Security Council that Iran had “repeated violations” of the deal.

The claim was made literally during a meeting at which all the other permanent members of the Security Council were talking up how great it is that the deal is in place, and that Iran is showing such a deep commitment to its continued participation.

Webmaster's Commentary:

With her blatant, and unrelentingly slavish support for Israel, which means she feels obligated to lie about Iran's compliance with the P5+1 Accord, Haley is fast approaching the VISS (Village Idiot Syndrome Status) with her brother and sister diplomats, who are doing everything to ignore her unrestrained rantings and ravings the best they can.

But please understand; there are elements with the Deep American State who will not rest until, to placate Israel, there is a US war against Iran in order to accomplish regime change in Tehran, no matter if this also means a war against Russia, which such a war against Iran, will probably create.

HACKED EMAIL SHOWS UAE AMBASSADOR LOBBYING THE OBAMA WHITE HOUSE ON YEMEN WAR

PART OF KEEPING close relationships with serial human rights violators, as the U.S. does, is the constant pressure from those governments to ignore their reported abuses. That dynamic was on full display in a hacked email exchange between the United Arab Emirates’ influential ambassador to the U.S. and a top Obama national security official. The sometimes testy back-and-forth between allies, which was obtained by The Intercept, shows how friendly foreign governments lobby the White House on human rights, and how the White House sometimes pushes back.

Webmaster's Commentary:

That the US government frequently colludes with human rights violators, and massive perpetrators of war crimes, does NOT make me happy to be an American citizen right now.

And two of the worst offenders in these areas are Israel and Saudi Arabia.

HOW ISRAELI/SAUDI ‘ALLIANCE’ PLAYS TRUMP

“The Saudi king’s decision to elevate his son Mohammed bin Salman … is not merely the internal affair of the royal hierarchy, but a game-changing international event. The king’s son is ready to step into his allotted place in a new US-Arab-Israeli alliance established by President Trump in May, along with the UAE, Egyptian and Israeli leaders that will seek to dominate Middle East affairs. Israel will be accepted in a regional lineup for the first time alongside the strongest Sunni Arab nations who all share similar objectives, especially the aim to stop Iran” [emphasis added].

“A game-changing international event”? Why exactly are these Israelis so excited; why should the elevation of bin Salman, known by the initials MbS, be such a game-changer? Is there here something new? And how come the dismissal of Prince Nayef, whom MbS replaced as crown prince and who was a Western favorite, barely ruffled a leaf in protest?

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF, in fact, this is the "quid pro quo" for Bin Salman's ascent, things seem to make sense here; but if, in fact, that is the case, the question of when Israel will be recognised looms large.

Israeli aircraft bombs Syrian army positions in occupied Golan

An Israeli unmanned aerial vehicle has reportedly targeted Syrian army positions in Golan Heights after a projectile allegedly fired from Syria landed in the occupied territory.

Lebanon-based Arabic-language al-Manar television network reported on Friday that the drone struck a Syrian battle tank as well as a 105mm cannon in Syria’s strategic southwestern region of Quneitra near the border with Israeli-controlled Palestinian territories.

Earlier, the Israeli army had announced in a statement that “an errant projectile fired from Syria had hit an open area in the northern Golan Heights,” noting that the round was “a result of internal fighting in Syria.”

It is the fourth time in a week that projectiles from Syria have hit the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Russian Foreign Ministry: OPCW’s report on Syria based on very doubtful data

Russian Foreign Ministry affirmed on Friday that the report of the Special Mission of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) on Syria is based on highly questionable data.

“Unfortunately, we are forced to state on the first reading of the document that its conclusions are still based on very doubtful data,” the Russian Foreign Ministry’s information and press department said.

The ministry added that the OPCW’s data was “obtained from the same opposition and the same notorious NGOs of the White Helmet type, and not at the site of the tragedy but in a certain ‘neighboring country’.”

6 Trigger Points: How the Conflict Between the United States and Iran Is Fast Escalating Toward War

The long-simmering conflict between the United States and Iran is fast escalating toward war. The battlefield is the desert expanse of eastern Syria where civil war has raged for the last five years. Tehran wants to keep U.S. forces out of the area, while Washington wants to use the region to wage war against Iran’s ally, Syria.

After 15 years of unsuccessful war in Afghanistan and Iraq, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson says the Trump administration is pursuing a policy of "regime change" in Iran that might lead to a third U.S. ground war in the Middle East since 2001.

Restraint is breaking down. While President Obama resisted U.S. involvement in the Syrian civil war, Trump has approved it. While Obama pursued dialog with Iran, Trump has embraced the new Saudi crown prince, Mohammed bin Salman, who laid down his country’s new, harsher line in April. ‘We will not wait until the battle is in Saudi Arabia," he said, "but we will work so the battle is there in Iran."

Webmaster's Commentary:

The short answer to that last question is, undoubtedly, yes.

But there is, in the Iran War scenario, the 6,000 lb gorilla, draped over the Bosendorfer, and snoozing for the moment; that 6,000 lb gorilla is Russia, which has promised, through the last decades, to come to Iran's aid, militarily, should it be attacked.

War with Russia over Syria and Iran?!? The thought of this is nothing more than sheer, absolute, foaming at the mouth, dog-mad insanity; and yet, that ...appears to be the direction in which the US government and military are headed here.

This is reckless in the extreme, and I say this because at this moment in the US's military preparedness, it does not have the weaponry; the troop strength; the money, or the manufacturing to insure a positive outcome to a conventional war with Russia, so the timing is utterly insane.

Russia has been making incredible strides, recently, in its weapons capability:

And what technology is getting foisted off on our American military?!? Ladies and gentlemen, I give you...Lockheed Martin's F-35.

F-35 GROUNDED INDEFINITELY OVER OXYGEN PROBLEMS

The F-35 program is once again in trouble, with full flight tests delayed until at least 2018

The F-35 Is a $1.4 Trillion Dollar National Disaster

Is the F-35 a trillion dollar mistake?!?

The F-35 won't have a real chance in combat

The F-35, amazingly, has even more problems than we thought

You catch my drift here. The US government and military has to spend smarter on its weapons and fighter programs; not just necessarily spend more money here.

American weapons manufacturers have to be disabused of the notion that whatever they produce, even if it doesn't function at all in the field, is still acceptable to the American government and military, and will ultimately paid for by US taxpayers.

In fact, some hard jail time for executives of corporations which fail to deliver as advertised, might go a long way toward curing the problem.

Investigate groups with “Jewish-sounding” names, says Nevada lawmaker

This month, Nevada became the 20th state to adopt legislation against the boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS) movement, after an Israel advocacy organization allegedly made threatening remarks to lawmakers if they opposed the bill.

Meanwhile, The Electronic Intifada has obtained a memo from a Nevada lawmaker to fellow Jewish lawmakers across the United States giving advice on how to fight back against the movement for Palestinian rights – including the Jewish activists who support it.

According to the Las Vegas Chapter of Jewish Voice for Peace, state assembly member Edgar Flores said he was threatened by the Israeli-American Coalition for Action, which told him that his political career would be ended if he did not support the anti-BDS bill.

Senior Trump Allies Are Laying the Groundwork for War with Iran

Iran was one of Donald Trump’s favorite boogeymen on the campaign trail—specifically the Obama Administration’s deal to lift some sanctions in return for a rollback and/or slowdown of the Iranian nuclear program. The effectiveness of this exchange cannot be truly ascertained for years, as the swap created immediate relief for the Iranians and long-term concessions to the Western world, but we know that Iran has been freed up to funnel more support to their proxy groups promoting terrorism—like Hezbollah—and so it is very easy to denigrate this deal right now. However, the entire motivation behind the agreement was to push the United States and Iran off the path to war—as the main point of concern from Barack Obama’s perspective was allowing a country that harbors terrorism to own a nuclear weapon, which would likely set off a nuclear arms race in the most volatile area of the world.

Washington Has Been At War For 16 Years: Why?

Paul Craig Roberts

For sixteen years the US has been at war in the Middle East and North Africa, running up trillions of dollars in expenses, committing untold war crimes, and sending millions of war refugees to burden Europe, while simultaneously claiming that Washington cannot afford its Social Security and Medicare obligations or to fund a national health service like every civilized country has.

Considering the enormous social needs that cannot be met because of the massive cost of these orchestrated wars, one would think that the American people would be asking questions about the purpose of these wars. What is being achieved at such enormous costs? Domestic needs are neglected so that the military/security complex can grow fat on war profits.

The lack of curiousity on the part of the American people, the media, and Congress about the purpose of these wars, which have been proven to be based entirely on lies, is extraordinary.

Syrian General Reveals Possible 'Israeli Plan' in Syria

On Sunday, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) attacked Syrian Army positions and an ammunition truck "in response to several Syrian projectiles" launched from Syrian territory. Earlier in the day, the IDF reported that several projectiles launched from the Syrian side fell in the Israeli-controlled part of the Golan Heights, causing no injuries.

A source told Sputnik that the Syrian forces were repelling a massive al-Nusra Front terrorist attack in the Golan Heights when they were struck by the Israeli Air Force in the area. According to Al Mayadeen channel, at least two Syrian soldiers were killed in the airstrike.

TEN BASIC FORMS OF FAKE NEWS USED BY MAJOR MEDIA

Webmaster's Commentary:

One of the things I detest about the "Common Core" curriculum is the suppression of critical thinking, allegedly, for the "common good" (i.e., the " good" of the corporations, or the government, which want to "sell" us solutions for non-existent problems).

At that point, when critical thinking no longer exists, mass opinion can be manipulated in any geopolitical direction, such as the Bush-Era mantra that "Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction", as the excuse/lie to create war.

Please be very intellectually aware, in the next couple of weeks, because, looking at all the evidence, it appears that the Trump Administration is going to attempt to "sell" the American people on a ground war against Syria.

The Russian government has warned, in no uncertain terms, that an escalation of US meddling in the sovereign state of Syria will have ...consequences.

Trump’s Chaos is Covering for Stealth Escalation Overseas by

Been trying to tell you folks. Opposition to Trump and the resulting chaos and confusion is being used to set the stage for WW3!

While Washington is fixated on President Trump’s tweets, antics, lies and Russiagate, the administration is ramping up a stealth escalation of our military involvement across the Middle East. As Naomi Klein warns, Trump’s “rolling shock of the chaos and spectacle” distracts from radical actions both at home and abroad. Across the Middle East, the administration drives the United States ever further into wars without end, increasing the dangers of direct military confrontation with Russia and Iran, with little awareness and no mandate from the American people. This is a recipe for calamity.

Thousands in Jerusalem protest abduction of Yemenite babies following disclosure some were experimented on

Over 2,000 Israeli Yemenite Jews and supporting activists gathered in Jerusalem last Wednesday to mark an annual day of awareness for what families say was a state-sponsored program to abduct Yemenite Jewish infants and other Israeli children born to parents who were recent immigrants from Arab countries.

Known as the Yemenite Children Affair, in the first decade after the establishment of the state of Israel in 1948, there was a systematic kidnapping of newborn Yemenite children, carried out by Israeli hospitals and government institutions. Mothers, who often were in Israel for a short time and did not speak Hebrew, would enter hospitals or other state facilities to give birth. Once the child was born medical staff told the parents the child died unexpectedly. Yet none of the families were shown bodies or burial documents. Many of the families did not practice any mourning ceremonies because they believed their missing children were still alive.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is officially horrendous; these families absolutely deserve answers, and to those who "experimented" on these children, believing that they were somehow "less than human"; Josef Mengele would have been proud!!

But the single most important reason for the Qatar tilt is obvious to anyone who knows how to read a map. The U.S. leases the al-Udeid Air Base, southwest of Doha, which is home to the Air Force’s 379th Air Expeditionary Wing. The U.S. (and the Qataris), not only mount fighter-bombers from al-Udeid against ISIS units in Iraq and Syria, the base serves as the first line of defense against Iranian encroachments in the region. Even more crucially, al-Udeid not only protects America’s Persian Gulf allies, it protects Israel – and would be a launching point for U.S. aircraft against Iran were Israel to be attacked by the Islamic Republic.

White House Appears to Be Planning Attack on Assad

Raising speculation that the US is about to attack Syria again, the White House has issued a statement late this evening accusing the Assad government in Syria of conducting “potential preparations for another chemical weapons attack,” claiming that such an attack would involve the “mass murder of civilians, including innocent children.”

The late night report was extremely light on details, but threatened to make Syria’s government and military “pay a heavy price,” suggesting that the statement was only issued to lay the groundwork for a new round of US attacks on Syrian government targets.

The US last attacked Syria in earnest in early April, firing 49 cruise missiles at a Syrian air base. The attack was carried out despite reports ultimately showing that the US intelligence community found no evidence a chemical weapon attack took place.

Webmaster's Commentary:

President Trump, a word please: that you could possibly believe, for one second, that Americans would swallow this codswallop whole, is a singularly nasty insult to the intelligence of your American brothers and sisters.

We were lied into wars against Afghanistan and Iraq; we will NOT, thank you very much, be lied into a war against Syria, over any kind of horrific false flag this government, and most probably Israel, may be conjuring against it right now.

I would very much like to politely remind you, and the American people, that just because an action would be the most pig-headedly, ham-fistedly stupid thing the American government could do, is utterly no guarantee that it won't do it.

War against Syria most probably means a war against Russia; and right now, Mr. President, the American military doesn't have the money; the weaponry; the troop strength; or the manufacturing to insure a positive outcome to a conventional war against Russia.

Right now, you really need to be listening to those voices in your inner circle advocating against such a rash action; they are the voices of reason, and the voices for the good of We the People.

Theatre 80 is a great historical institution with a history of providing an intelligent platform for musicians including John Coltrane and Thelonius Monk, theatre, movies and speakers, including me.

We planned a night of open discussion on different issues to do with my new book, critiquing ID politics and the post political condition. We wanted a truly open dialogue and we personally invited each of my NYC and American detractors to share the podium. Apparently, not one had the courage to engage in a public dialogue with me. This is understandable I guess, I’ve bought myself a reputation of being outspoken on issues to do with Jewish power and controlled opposition.

Syria warns Israel of 'dangerous repercussions for aggressive action'

Syrian army issues statement following IDF response to Syrian missile spillover, calling Israeli actions motivated 'a desperate attempt to boost morale' and warning 'Israeli enemy' of consequences.

The Syrian army warned Israel on Sunday of the "dangerous repercussions" of its "aggressive activities" after the IDF retaliated against spillover fire in the Golan Heights for the second day in a row.

After the Syrian army forces managed to thwart the wide-scale attack of terrorist al-Nusra … the Israeli enemy continued today to attack one of our military stations, in a desperate attempt to support terrorist organizations and boost their low morale," read a statement from the army of Syrian President Bashar Assad.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Let's look at a map of the Israeli/Syrian border:

Map: Israeli/Syrian Border

Now, let's take a look at the Map of Eretz Israel, or "Greater Israel", which many Zionists in the Israeli government want to bring to fruition:

Image: Eretz Israel, or greater Israel, stretching from the Tigris to the Euphrates Rivers

Notice that hunks of Syria; Lebanon; Egypt; Iraq, and Saudi Arabia, get gobbled up in this redrawing of borders in the Middle East?!?

In the military hot mess which characterises the wars in Syria, it is not impossible that Israel's civilian and military infrastructure saw their bombings in Syria as a calculated risk, to see how much of the country it could potentially "chew off", and declare its own, beyond the Golan Heights, before the dust settles.

And we see some confirmation of that possibility in the following article, posted on last Saturday, from the timesofisrael.com:

Liberman: The Assad Regime will Continue to Suffer the Consequences of their Attacks

I would like to hope that Russia's Putin and Lavrov are telling their Israeli counterparts, in no uncertain terms, that these bombings must stop, or else there will be consequences, courtesy of the Russian military.

I don't know how long Putin will put up with this kind of military nonsense from the IDF in Syria, but my hunch would be, not very long at all.

“Stop Special Treatment for Jews” – a suggested way forward

FROM THEIR VERY BEGINNINGS, JEWS HAVE PROJECTED THEMSELVES AS A SPECIAL PEOPLE. According to their holy literature, the Torah, they demanded this recognition from their god Jehovah and from surrounding tribes. Over time, this became enshrined in their tribal mythology which they jealously guarded: the Hebrews are God's special, covenanted people!

A nomadic people, they very possibly learned of the “One God” from the Egyptians, who were the first to develop the concept. Over time, their god Jehovah became the One God, but before that, he was competing and slaying to prove his supremacy over all other gods. His teaching to the tribe held that they deserved to take what they wanted from other tribes when directed by Him to attack and destroy. Their god Jehovah promised them victory as long as they strictly obeyed his commands.
