Thai labourers in Israel tell of harrowing conditions

A year-long BBC investigation has discovered widespread abuse of Thai nationals living and working in Israel - under a scheme organised by the two governments.

Many are subjected to unsafe working practices and squalid, unsanitary living conditions. Some are overworked, others underpaid and there are dozens of unexplained deaths.

U.S. ambassador: Iran failed to declare all chemical weapons to global agency

Iran has not declared all its chemical weapons capabilities to the global chemical weapons agency in The Hague, in violation of an international non-proliferation convention, the U.S. ambassador to the organisation said on Thursday.

Ambassador Kenneth Ward told a meeting of the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) that Iran had failed to report a production facility for the filling of aerial bombs and maintains a programme to obtain banned toxic munitions.

There was no immediate Iranian reaction to the remarks.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Yet more demonization of Iran, with utterly no incontrovertible proof.

Demonization of a country, coupled with sanctions against it, are generally the preludes to a war against that country.

Israel's Iron Dome defense of Saudi Arabia aims to avert collapse of Trump and Netanyahu's entire Middle East strategy: But Democrats view it as yet another expression of the prime minister’s overzealous backing for a despised U.S. president

Trump had no hesitation about deploying whatever remains of Israel’s good name as a political Iron Dome. On Thursday night he asserted, “Israel would be in a lot of trouble without Saudi Arabia.” In his written statement, Trump mentioned Israel twice: First to underline Saudi Arabia’s importance in warding off the big Satan Iran and then to justify Washington’s intention of standing by Riyadh in order to “ensure the interests of our country, Israel and all other partners in the region.”

Israel, Trump assumes, is the magic word that will ensure the support of Evangelicals, who will in turn mitigate the harsh positions taken by some Republican Senators, especially Lindsey Graham, against the Saudi crown prince.

Democrats, in any case, were apparently less impressed. Widely respected Washington Post columnist Jackson Diehl wrote that “a lot of Republicans as well as Democrats will be repelled… by the spectacle of an Israeli leader lobbying to excuse an Arab dictator for murder.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Assassination...is one of the tools of statecraft; and no country on this planet understands this better than those in the Bowels of Power in Tel Aviv.

IDF Admits Mistakenly Sinking Lebanese Refugee Ship After Decades of Silence

The incident occurred off the coast of the northern Lebanese city of Tripoli as Israel enforced a naval blockade of Lebanon trying to prevent Syrian naval forces from intervening in the fighting.

An Israeli submarine mistakenly fired missiles at the refugee ship in northern Lebanon in June 1982, killing 25 refugees and foreign workers on board, according to Israel's Channel 10. The channel earlier filed a petition to Israel's High Court of Justice against the censorship of its report on the incident.

The sinking, which was already admitted by the Israel Defence Forces (IDF), occurred during the so-called the First Lebanon War when the Israeli Gal-type submarine was taking part in "Operation Dreyfus,” aimed to stop Syrian naval forces from meddling in the fighting.

World Knows US Supporting Terrorists

Addressing a large and fervent congregation of the people in Tehran on Friday, Ayatollah Khatami said, "The recent statements by US President Donald Trump were very cheap as the world is fully aware who supports and nurtures the terrorists; who sent terrorists to Syria."

Ayatollah Khatami's remarks came in reaction to recent anti-Iran statements of President Trump who accused Iran of supporting terrorists.

The senior cleric noted that the Muslim World will give a crushing response to the US by maintaining its unity.

The remarks by the cleric came after hawkish statements by US President Donald Trump against Iran.

Trump's Saudi Support Highlights Brutality Of 'America First' Doctrine

***
But more than that, by stressing the "billions" of dollars in Saudi investment in the US, Trump made clear that Washington has a price, that principles that generations of Americans have cherished, are for sale.

"The world is a very dangerous place! ... It's called America First!" Trump wrote in a statement, effectively repudiating the concept of American Exceptionalism, the idea that the US is embarked on a unique, moral mission exemplified by support for freedom, democracy and universal values.

He kept up his praise on Wednesday, thanking the Saudis in a tweet for low oil prices, even though the tumble in crude oil owes largely to market fears about a new supply glut and weakening demand.

Nothing In Any Conspiracy Theory Is As Bad As What’s Being Done Out In The Open

Yesterday President Trump posted a statement on the White House website saying his administration will be standing with the House of Saud despite the CIA’s assertion that Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman personally ordered the murder of Jamal Khashoggi, a Saudi journalist who was living and working in the United States.

The statement reads like a long form version of one of Trump’s tweets, replete with gratuitous exclamation points and slogans like “America First!” and the lie that Iran is “the world’s leading sponsor of terror”, which will never be true no matter how many times this administration deliberately repeats it. The world’s leading sponsor of terrorism is of course Saudi Arabia, along with Israel and the United States.

We Must Never Allow Legitimate Criticism of Israel to be Defined as Anti-Semitic

The reason the Niemoller quotation occupies my mind so much right now is my mixture of rage and powerlessness in the face of the hurtful, disgraceful and ludicrous accusations of anti-Semitism levelled against three individuals I know. Jim Sheridan, no relation, is a former Labour MP for Paisley, Renfrewshire, near to where I live and he is currently a Renfrewshire Labour councillor.

Mary used her personal Facebook account to state:

"If the purpose is to generate opposition to anti-Semitism, it has backfired spectacularly".

"If it is to get rid of Jeremy Corbyn as Labour Leader, it is unlikely to succeed, and is a shameless piece of cynical opportunism".

"And if it is a Mossad [the Israeli secret service] assisted the campaign to prevent the election of a Labour Government pledged to recognise Palestine as a State, it is unacceptable interference in the democracy of Britain."

Not only is that statement not anti-Semitic it is also politically astute and very mature.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This earnest desire to conflate any criticism of the Israeli government with anti-Semitism, must not be allowed to fester.

Again, this is why the BDS campaign is so critical right now.

Registering Israel’s “Useful Idiots: ”FDD and AIPAC need adult supervision

But there is a more serious consideration in terms of the actual relationships that many of the groups enjoy with the Israeli government. To be sure, many of them boast on their promotional literature and websites about their relationships with the Benjamin Netanyahu and his cabinet, so the issue of dual loyalty or, worse, acting as actual Israeli government agents must be considered.

There is a legal remedy to hostile foreigners acting against American interests and that is the Foreign Agents Registration Act of 1938 (FARA). Originally intended to identify and monitor agents of Nazi Germany propagandizing in the United States, it has since been applied to individuals and groups linked to other nations. Most recently, it was used against Russian news agencies RT America and Sputnik, which were forced to register. It is also being considered for Qatar based al-Jazeera.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Unfortunately, this will only happen... when pigs discover that they are aerodynamic.

IRAQ REFUSES TO COMPLY WITH U.S. SANCTIONS ON IRAN?

The Iraqi government is refusing to comply with a second round of United States economic sanctions targeting Iran's crucial energy, shipping and banking sectors. “The decision isn’t international, Iraqi, or part of a United Nations resolution—it's an American one,” Iraq's Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi explained in reference to Baghdad's position to not “respect” the financial penalties. He added that Iraq "does not accept dictates" and is not obligated to fall in line with US foreign policy or any "aggression" against another country.

The announcement comes after Iraqi President Barham Salih over the weekend visited Tehran, where he discussed with his counterpart Hassan Rouhani ways to enhance bilateral ties as well as the potential establishment of free trade zones along the shared border. The trip raised eyebrows in Washington, which fears growing Iranian influence over Baghdad could offset a fifteen-year military and diplomatic effort to rebuild Iraq in its image.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Good on Iraq!!

And had the US government not insisted on de-baathification shortly after its occupation of Baghdad, perhaps the Iraqis would not have had to put up with such a corrupt, US-centric government in the aftermath, causing them, this year, to create a coalition centered around Muqtada Al Sadr, the Shiite scholar who right now is the most powerful person in Iraq, without a title or official role in the government.

The Tide Is Turning: Israel Is Losing on Two War Fronts

The November 12 botched Israeli military operation in the Gaza Strip is delineating Tel Aviv’s failure to utilize its army as a tool to achieve Palestinian political concessions.

Now that the Palestinian popular resistance has gone global through the exponential rise and growing success of the Boycott Movement, the Israeli government is fighting two desperate wars.

Following the Gaza attack, Palestinians responded by showering the Israeli southern border with rockets and carried out a precise operation targeting an Israeli army bus.

As Palestinians marched in celebration of pushing the Israeli army out of their besieged region, the fragile political order in Israel, long-managed by right-wing Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, was quickly unraveling.

Two days after the Israeli attack on Gaza, Defense Minister, Avigdor Lieberman, quit in protest of Netanyahu’s "surrender" to the Palestinian Resistance.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is why the continuation of the BDS movement is so critical right now; money, or the lack of it, is a language in which Israelis are quite proficient.

Israel to turn to U.S. government over Airbnb removal of settlement listings

Israel plans to consult with the U.S. government over a decision by home-renting company AirBnB Inc to remove listings in Jewish settlements in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, a cabinet minister said on Tuesday.

Nov 21 12:16

After Airbnb, Booking.com asked to remove West Bank listings

Rights activists on Tuesday urged Booking.com to follow the example of Airbnb and withdraw listings for rentals in Jewish settlements in the occupied West Bank, even as Israel called the move "disgusting" and threatened legal action.

Airbnb said Monday it will remove such listings, just ahead of the release of a Human Rights Watch report criticising the inclusion of settlements.

Israel strongly denounced Airbnb's decision and threatened legal action against the company, while Palestinian officials welcomed it.

The US-based rights group HRW issued its report on Tuesday and called on Booking.com to follow Airbnb's "positive step".

Israel Is Now Powerless – Palestine Is Inevitable

The current military-political doctrine of the Israeli leadership is based on the continuation of the occupation of the Syrian and Palestinian territories occupied by the state of Israel, which requires constant violence and acts of international aggression and state terrorism against the population of the occupied territories of the West Bank, Gaza Strip, Syria and Iran.

Also, the military-political doctrine of the leadership of Israel requires impunity, and no losses. Israeli society is not prepared for any losses. Israeli moms love when their children dress in a beautiful green uniform, eat in army canteens and kill Arabs, but they don’t like their children being killed in a war.

From a historical point of view, when citizens of a state are not ready to die for their country, such states die (as an example, Byzantium, whose walls could no longer protect them, and had only mercenaries).

How Israel weaponises anti-Semitism to block Middle East peace

One of Israel’s most powerful weapons against the voices of Palestinian rights has been the exploitation of Jewish history — the Holocaust included — to justify its own atrocities against non-Jews. The Holocaust is undeniably one of the worst human tragedies in human history, an evil horror in which Nazis sought to cleanse the world of Jews and their religion.

The hatred that fuelled Nazi atrocities before and during World War Two were undoubtedly driven by anti-Semitism. Since then, though, anti-Semitism has been weaponised by Israel, not just to confront the Holocaust deniers, the neo-Nazis and the hate filled anti-Semites, but also to undermine the righteous movement of justice to restore the inalienable rights of Christians and Muslims in Palestine.

Germany denies free speech on Israel’s crimes

A few years ago German police dragged me across the bare gravel, my face pushed into the cold ground.

It was fall 2015. Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel’s prime minister, had declared that Haj Amin al-Husseini, a Palestinian political and religious leader, talked Adolf Hitler into exterminating the Jews.

A group of us protested against this disgraceful and dishonest claim outside the Chancellery in Berlin. We held placards reading “Netanyahu is a Holocaust denier.”

That evening I was hospitalized due to my violent arrest.

A Palestinian from Gaza and I had been asked by the police for our identity documents immediately after the demonstration ended. Although we fully cooperated, the police resorted to brutality.

I screamed as police officers dragged me along the ground. One officer placed her feet on me. Another officer twisted my arms; it felt like he was trying to break my fingers.

Chefs take Israeli propaganda off the menu

One of New York’s best known chefs has withdrawn from Round Tables, an annual Israeli government-sponsored propaganda initiative.

Gabrielle Hamilton, the award-winning chef and owner of Prune restaurant in New York City dropped out of the Tel Aviv initiative this week. Hamilton, author of the memoir Blood, Bones and Butter, follows Ana Roš from the Slovenian restaurant Hiša Franko, who had earlier pulled out of the event.

The cancellations follow sustained calls for boycotting the events. Ninety international chefs and culinary figures had signed an appeal to respect the Palestinian-led campaign for boycotting Israel.

“[As] professionals committed to food sovereignty and food access for all, we know that none of us can lend our names or our cooking skills to an Israeli government-sponsored culinary event such as this one. Our values around good food must include everyone, including the Palestinian people,” the appeal states.

Israel tears love apart

The only way that Moamen Asad Bashir could live with his wife was to flee Gaza.

Moamen married Nermeen Hamdan in Hebron five years ago. The couple had met in Ramallah – another city in the occupied West Bank – where Moamen worked as a carpenter and Nermeen as a teacher.

In June 2015, Moamen returned home to Gaza for his mother’s funeral. Afterwards he made multiple applications to cross the Erez checkpoint, which separates Gaza and Israel. But the Israeli authorities refused to give him a permit.

Forced to live apart from his wife and children in the West Bank, he also lost his job in a Ramallah furniture factory because he couldn’t return to it.

It wasn’t until February this year that Moamen and Nermeen were reunited. They now live in Brussels, with their two daughters, Yumna, 5, and Ayah, 4.

There Are Hundreds of Groups in the US Furthering the Interests of the Israeli State - They Should be Registered As 'Foreign Agents'

Depending on what criteria one uses, there are between 200 and 600 groups in the United States that wholly or in part are dedicated to furthering the interests of Israel. The organizations are both Jewish, like the Zionist Organization of America, and Christian Zionist to include John Hagee’s Christians United for Israel, but the funding of the Israel Lobby and both its political and media access comes overwhelmingly from Jewish supporters and advocates.

Many of the groups are registered with the Internal Revenue Service for tax purposes as 501(c)3 “educational” or “charitable” foundations, which enables them to solicit tax exempt donations. One might dispute whether promoting Israeli interests in the United States is actually educational, but as of right now the Department of the Treasury believes it can be so construed, protected by the First Amendment.

The perverse use of anti-Semitism charges against supporters of Palestinian rights

As many of you know, I am a refugee from Nazi Germany and a Jew. I was also on a small catamaran with 4 elderly Jews in September 2010 with a goal to break the siege of Gaza. We were Jews who wanted to convey our hopes, our dreams for Palestinian freedom and dignity. They looked forward to our arrival and yes, we yearned to feel a connection and love.

I had felt this love and tragedy when I did finally get to Gaza in 2012. No one can imagine the horror of the 2008-9 Operation Cast Lead and 2012 Operation Pillar of Defense. More came soon after. Bombing and horrible destruction continues now. Unimaginable horror plus the use of phosphates and deadly chemicals dropped down on defenseless ones and too many children and pregnant women.

UK Church boycotts companies profiting from Israel occupation of Palestine

Quakers in Britain has today become the first church in the UK to announce it will not invest any of its centrally-held funds in companies profiting from the Israeli occupation of Palestine.

In a press release, the faith group said that the trustees of the church took the decision in light of its long tradition of ethical investment. The church said they refused to “profit from the occupation of Palestine,” pointing to its historical divestment from apartheid South Africa, the fossil fuel industry, arms companies and even the transatlantic slave trade.

Paul Parker, recording clerk for Quakers in Britain, said:

Our long history of working for a just peace in Palestine and Israel has opened our eyes to the many injustices and violations of international law arising from the military occupation of Palestine by the Israeli government.

Quakers first UK church to boycott companies profiting from Israeli occupation

Britain's Quakers announced on Monday that they will not invest any of their centrally held funds in companies that are profiting from Israel's occupation of Palestine, making it the first church in the United Kingdom to do so.

“Our long history of working for a just peace in Palestine and Israel has opened our eyes to the many injustices and violations of international law arising from the military occupation of Palestine by the Israeli government," Paul Parker, recording clerk for Quakers in Britain, said in a statement.

“With the occupation now in its 51st year, and with no end in near sight, we believe we have a moral duty to state publicly that we will not invest in any company profiting from the occupation."

Israel has occupied East Jerusalem, the West Bank and effectively the Gaza Strip since the 1967 Middle East war and has since built settlements there and profited from the use of confiscated Palestinian lands, in contravention of international law.

A familiar chant - "No justice, no peace" - echoed through the president's office at the University of Michigan earlier this week, as dozens of graduate students hand-delivered a letter denouncing the academic institution for punishing a professor for boycotting Israel.

John Cheney-Lippold, an associate professor of American culture, has received an outpouring of support since the university reprimanded him earlier this month for refusing to write a letter of recommendation for a student looking to study in Israel.

Israeli forces injure 25 Palestinians in Gaza flotilla protests

At least 25 Palestinians, including a journalist, were injured by the Israeli live fire during the Freedom Flotilla protests at the northern border of the Gaza Strip on Monday.

The protests were held in support of the launch of a flotilla titled 'Freedom Ship 16' that set sail from the port of Gaza in an attempt to break the Israeli siege on the enclave.

The Israeli forces’ live fire wounded 25 people, including the Associated Press’ cameraman Rashed Rashid, who were all transported to local hospitals for medical treatment.

The journalist was filming hundreds of Palestinians who were protesting on a beach by the border fence near Beit Lahia, a spokesman for the Palestinian health ministry said.

Around 30 fishing boats reportedly joined the flotilla, which was organized by Gaza's National Committee for Breaking the Siege.

Archives reveal Israel’s ‘cosy ties’ with Brazil’s military dictatorship

Israeli Foreign Ministry documents at the Israel State Archives reveal that Israel enjoyed “cosy ties” with Brazil’s military dictatorship, which ruled from 1964 to 1985.

According to the report by +972 Magazine, the year after the coup, in June 1965, Aryeh Eshel, director of Latin American affairs at Israel’s Foreign Ministry, wrote that he hoped “the current regime in Brazil lasts”.

Based on the information available, and not subject to censorship, the report states there were “strong ties” with respect to military relations:

Brazil’s security forces used Israeli Uzi submachine guns, and the [Brazilian] National Truth Commission revealed that intelligence agents from the National Intelligence Service of Brazil (SNI) — who were primarily responsible for torture, oppression, and crimes committed by the regime — received training in Israel.

Israel ‘inexplicably’ banning exit of processed foods from Gaza

Israel continues to “inexplicably” impose a ban on the exit of processed foods from the occupied Gaza Strip to markets in the West Bank and Israel, reports Israeli human rights NGO Gisha, “thwarting economic activity and growth in one of Gaza’s most promising sectors”.

Processed food, defined as “any kind of food that has undergone an adaptation and manufacturing process, including things like date paste, cookies, and potato chips”, had been a significant part of the Gaza economy prior to the blockade.

Now, however, “Israel’s policy regarding movement of goods out of Gaza reveals that dates can go to the West Bank but not date paste, and tomatoes can be shipped to Israel but not tomato paste,” Gisha described.

Airbnb removes illegal West Bank settlement listings

Airbnb’s decision to remove any properties situated in illegal Israeli settlements was announced a day before Human Rights Watch (HRW) was due to release a damning report into the company’s complicity in the dispossession of Palestinians.

HRW’s 65-page report “Bed and Breakfast on Stolen Land: Tourist Rental Listings in West Bank Settlements” painted a damning picture of Airbnb’s policy, accusing it and other platforms such as Booking.com of effectively supporting Israel’s illegal settlement policy. The report explained that:

The business activity that Airbnb and Booking.com conduct helps make West Bank settlements more profitable and therefore sustainable, thus facilitating Israel’s unlawful transfer of its citizens to the settlements. In many cases, the companies list the properties as being located inside Israel, thereby misleading guests about where they will be staying and obscuring the fact that their payments are benefitting the settlement enterprise.

Mladenov ‘concerned by Israel’s persistent use of live fire against protestors’ in Gaza

In his briefing to the UN Security Council, the UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process Nickolay Mladenov said that he “remain[s] very concerned by Israel’s persistent use of live fire against protestors” in the Gaza Strip.

In his speech, a copy of which was sent to MEMO, he said: “I call on the [Israeli occupation] authorities to exercise maximum restraint and refrain from using lethal force, except as a last resort.”

He also told the UNSC about the latest Israeli offensive on Gaza. “In recent days, we have witnessed another dangerous escalation of violence in Gaza that risked unleashing an armed conflict with catastrophic consequences for two million impoverished Palestinian people.”

Mladenov pointed out that the Gaza residents “have endured three wars and crippling Israeli closures”.

Israeli Forces Wound 25 Palestinians, Including AP Cameraman, in Gaza Boat Protest

The weekly protest at the Gaza beach to protest the ongoing Israeli closure of sea access to Gaza was met with violence from Israeli forces today, who fired live ammunition at protesters in boats and along the shore. 25 were wounded with live bullets, including an AP camera operator.

The protest took place off the coast of Beit Lahia, in northern Gaza, when hundreds of Palestinians gathered on the shore and then took off in small fishing boats bearing Palestinian flags into the Mediterranean Sea.

Almost immediately, the Israeli Naval ships stationed off the coast began firing live ammunition toward the protesters, according to local sources.

The Israeli Navy also fired tear gas canisters, causing passengers on the boats to suffer from tear gas inhalation.

One of the people wounded by the Israeli forces’ live ammunition was a camera operator working for the Associated Press (AP), who was shot in the foot.

Dozen Palestinians wounded by Israeli gunfire across West Bank

Israeli military forces have shot and injured a dozen Palestinians across West Bank as tensions continue to rise in the occupied territories over US President Donald Trump's recognition of Jerusalem al-Quds as Israel’s capital and relocation of the US embassy to the occupied city.

According to a statement released by the Palestinian Ministry of Health on Monday, four Palestinians were injured overnight by bullets from Israeli forces near the village of Deir Abu Mash'al, located 24 kilometers (15 miles) west of Ramallah.

The ministry added that the injured Palestinians were transported to Martyr Yasser Arafat Hospital in the central West Bank city of Salfit. One of them was later taken to the An-Najah National University Hospital in Nablus due to the severity of the gunshot wound in his thigh.

On October 26, a Palestinian man was killed in clashes with Israeli soldiers in the village of al-Mazra'a al-Qibliya.

TURKEY ATTACKS OWN PROXIES IN SYRIA, NETANYAHU NAMES HIMSELF DEFENSE MINISTER

From November 18 to November 20, the Turkish Armed Forces (TAF) carried out a military operation against their own proxies in the region of Afrin. The TAF attacked and partially disarmed a group of about 200 members of the al-Sharqiyah Martyrs Gathering and its allied groups. The Hamza Division, the Sultan Murad Division, the al-Sham Corps and the 3rd Corps participated in the operation on the side of the TAF. At least 25 militants were reportedly killed in the clashes.

The formal explanation of the move is that members of the al-Sharqiyah Martyrs Gathering have been involved in looting and other crimes. However, this is not something uncommon for Turkish-backed groups, which participated in Euphrates Shield and Olive Branch operations.

Local sources say that the al-Sharqiyah Martyrs Gathering has just become too independent in its decisions and Ankara has decided to punish it for this.

Trump administration hawks putting US on course for war with Iran, report warns

Donald Trump has surrounded himself with hardliners in his administration who have openly called for bombing Iran and carrying out regime change, says a new report, which also warns of the possibility of a military confrontation being engineered through provocative action.

Senior members of the US administration, which has pulled out of the nuclear deal with Tehran unilaterally, have vocalised its desire to destroy the agreement and cripple the Iranian economy in the process, the document prepared by the National Iranian American Council (NIAC) points out.

The report holds, however, that there is a chance of averting a violent scenario following the American midterm elections, which have given the Democrats control of the House of Representatives. There are Republicans as well as Democrats who are wary of the hawkish approach of some of Mr Trump’s advisers, and a bipartisan approach may pave the way for the deal to be saved and even for Washington to rejoin it in the future.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Whoever put this report together has no real grasp of American geopolitics, and what outside players largely create its foreign policies, particularly for the Middle East.

When it comes to foreign interventions, DC is a "one-party town"; that of the warmongers.

Democrats and Republicans will all band together on this one, and for one, un-named reason; that is the monumental impact both AIPAC and Israel hold over American politics.

IF Israel and AIPAC want this war to go forward, trust me, no matter who is on what side of the Aisle, Congress will confirm this in absolute lock step; to not have AIPAC's and Israel's support means you either won't get into the House or Senate, or if you do, it will be for one term only.

American politicians understand this; not going Israel and AIPAC's way is the KOD (kiss of death) for American politicians, sort of like ingesting a large gulp of geopolitical Kryptonite.

I am very concerned at seeing this move forward, which I believe it most probably will, after the turn of the first of next year.

Russia and China may well come in on Iran's side; and right now, the US military doesn't have the weaponry; the money; the troop strength, or the manufacturing to insure a positive result from a conventional war against Iran.

The IAEA (comprised of some very bright, capable people) is still attesting to the reality that Iran is still abiding by the rules of the P5+1.

That the US has withdrawn from it is a first salvo toward a war against it.

Were I a betting person, I would not bet against the resurrection of the Draft in this country, in advance of such a move.

But one thing DC needs to hear and understand, is this; Israel wants this war conducted ONLY... at the costs of American blood... and American money.

THE ONLY REGIME CHANGE THAT IS NEEDED IS IN WASHINGTON

But my vote for the most magnificent nut in an Administration that is overflowing with such talent would be the esteemed United States Special Representative for Syria Engagement James Jeffrey. The accolade is in part due to the fact that Jeffrey started out relatively sane as a career diplomat with the State Department, holding ambassadorships in Iraq, Turkey, and Albania. He had to work hard to become as demented as he now is but was helped along the way by signing on as a visiting fellow at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy (WINEP), which is a spin-off of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC).

Webmaster's Commentary:

It appears to me, that my brother and sister Americans are back to a status quo ante, a status of feudal vassals, as we were before the American revolution.

And why do I say this?

Although this can be expressed as a grasp of the in-your-face obvious, the cold, hard reality that the government is only responsive to the already monied, to and certain foreign governments, Israel being among the worst offenders, in terms of having very effectively hijacked American foreign policy to their own ends.

What is great for Israel, is not at all necessarily good for We the People.

Yes, there are moments when a common good for both countries align; but in the world of the 21st century, those moments are consistently fewer and farther between, particularly when comes to the Zionist vision of "Eretz Israel", which means carving off hunks of adjacent countries to perfect and achieve that vision.

The maps tell the story:

Current map of Israel

Map: Eretz Israel

Notice the hunks of Iraq, Syria, Saudia Arabia, Jordan,Lebanon, Egypt and Iraq which will have to be conquered by Israel in order for this "vision" of Eretz Israel to be achieved?!?

It is no accident that Israel cheered for the US invasion and occupation of Iraq; it is no accident that they have cheered the illegal and unwanted US military actions against Syria, including funding and arming the jihadists against the government; it is no accident that they have started the "political rapprochement" process with Saudi Arabia, which they are hoping to use as a proxy force against Iran, working with the US military, as they have been doing in Yemen; and it is no accident that Israel fully expects the US to go to war against Iran for it.

But as always with Israel, these "wins" are only to be purchased primarily at the cost of American blood, and American money.

I look at the media buys the military has been doing lately, with a lot of saturation ads, to encourage our young men and women to join; but the US military is in one horrifically awful dilemma right now.

They don't have the troop strength; the weaponry; the manufacturing (outsourced in the 80s, to make way for the alleged "service economy")or the money to insure a successful outcome to a conventional war against Russia and/or China.

With the mid-terms over, before there is a war against Russia, China, and/or Iran, I would not bet against the re-institution of the draft, coupled with continuing demonization of Russia, China, and Iran.

Please remember the following reality, as stated on Google:

"Virtually all male U.S. citizens, regardless of where they live, and male immigrants, whether documented or undocumented, residing in the United States, who are 18 through 25, are required to register with Selective Service. The law says men must register with Selective Service within 30 days of their 18th birthday."

UN refugee agency slashes budget deficit despite US cuts

The UN Relief and Work Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) on Monday said it managed to slash its budget deficit despite US funding cuts earlier this year.

UNRWA Commissioner General Pierre Krahenbuhl made the remarks Monday as UNRWA's second Advisory Commission Meeting of 2018 was held in Jordan's capital Amman.

The UN official said in a statement that the agency was able to overcome the financial challenges this year due to the support of many countries.

The UN agency had faced a budget shortfall of 446 million US dollars, which was reduced to 21 million dollars after getting support of many donor countries, the UN official said.

The unexpected decision by the US to cut 300 million dollars in aid to UNRWA this year had increased the challenges>>>

Netanyahu says calling Israeli snap polls now would be 'irresponsible'

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Sunday calling snap elections now would be "irresponsible" as he vowed to push on despite a coalition crisis.

Speaking in an impassioned televised address to the nation, Netanyahu also said he would retain the defence ministry portfolio at least for now and work to convince his coalition partners to remain in the government.

"To go to elections now would be irresponsible," Netanyahu said. "The security of the country is above political considerations."

Israel Coalition Falters as Netanyahu Takes Top Positions

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s current far-right coalition seems to be destined to fall very soon. His goal now is no longer saving the coalition without Avigdor Lieberman, but rather to last another six weeks, and try to get elections set for late March or early April. Netanyahu now is not only prime minister and head of Likud party, he also is the acting foreign and defense minister, meaning he holds the top three positions within the Israeli government.

The coalition will be collapsing chiefly because of anger over the brief Gaza clash, and the quick ceasefire declared, with hawkish members objecting to a quick ceasefire when they wanted a longer, more decisive war.

Another major issue now is the distribution of power within the coalition. With Lieberman’s resignation, Netanyahu has declined to give Naftali Bennett the defense portfolio, and will be keeping it for himself.

Netanyahu is not invincible

A legend developed here in Israel over the past decade about an invincible hero. One who destroys his opponents with a wave of his hand. One who repeatedly takes the performance, dismissing his opponents as one would flick a speck of dust of his jacket. The legendary hero’s name is Benjamin Netanyahu and his opponents change at a rapid pace making it difficult to keep track of them.

This folk legend became a bestseller after the 2015 elections, when in the race — which was close and even slightly tilted in favor of Isaac Herzog — Netanyahu managed to bring about a revolution and win in a landslide victory with 30 seats for the Likud.

‘Golan Heights forever ours!’ Israel praises US for its vote against UN anti-occupation resolution

Israel said its sovereignty over the Golan Heights is permanent, after the US for the first time rejected a symbolic UN resolution that calls on the Jewish state to end its occupation of the Syrian territory it captured in 1967.
“Israel will remain forever on the Golan Heights, and the Golan Heights will forever remain in our hands,” Benjamin Netanyahu said Sunday, thanking the US leadership for voting against calls at the United Nations on Friday for the return of the Golan to Syria.

Nearly Half of Britons Have an Unfavourable View of Israel

A study of attitudes towards Israel in the UK has found that 49 percent of Britons have an unfavourable view of Israel. The annual poll of UK attitudes about Israel was conducted by the Populus polling company and was commissioned by an Israel lobby group, the British Israel Communications and Research Center (BICOM). But despite the pro-Israel bias of the commissioners, the poll found that only 20 percent of the British public feels "warm" towards Israel and 23 percent feels warm towards Israelis. Meanwhile, 49 percent said they felt "cold" towards Israel, and 45 percent said they felt cold towards Israelis ... When asked if they agreed with boycotts against Israel only 14 percent supported this. And when asked if they believe Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn is an anti-Semite, 38 percent said Yes ..
Note: Only half unfavourable! The rest of the world is 90%.

Argentine Jews campaign against Roger Waters, ‘one of the great anti-Semites’

Jewish institutions in Argentina have launched a campaign against British singer Roger Waters, the former Pink Floyd frontman. Waters' Us +Them tour has been traveling around Latin America for the last month. Waters participated in an event of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement against Israel in Buenos Aires on Friday, a day before performing a concert there. "We must insist to our local governments to pressure Israel, in favor of the human rights of the Palestinians," he said during the program titled "A world Without Walls," organized by BDS Argentina. The Argentina Zionist Organization called Waters "one of the great anti-Semites of our time" in an online campaign protesting what it called his hate speech. Shows in which Waters displays a pig with a star of David also have irritated some Jewish global leaders.

The Nefarious Reasons Behind the US and UK’s Sudden Concern for Civilians in Yemen

American, British and French military support for the murderous operations in Yemen should have stopped months, even years ago, if official humanitarian concerns were genuine.

At first glance, it may seem like a positive move. The Trump administration and London are both putting pressure on Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates to implement a ceasefire in Yemen’s atrocious war.

What’s wrong with that, you may ask? Well, as Houthi rebels who took over Yemen at the end of 2014 are saying, the country has been under aggression for the past three years from a Saudi-led coalition supported militarily by the US, Britain and France. The unrelenting war on the poorest country in the Middle East has led to the world’s worst humanitarian crisis in decades, with over half of the population – some 14 million people – at risk of starvation, according to the UN
***
Last week, Washington announced that it was suspending mid-air refueling flights for Saudi and Emirati warplanes that have been pounding Yemen since March 2015, which has resulted in a horrendous death toll among civilians. The indiscriminate killing of the Saudis and Emirati air strikes has been amply documented, albeit downplayed by Western media. The latter keep repeating a figure of 10,000 dead in Yemen – a figure which has bizarrely remained unchanged for at least the past two years. The real death toll from air strikes is unknown but likely to be near 50,000.

ISRAEL POLICE TO RECOMMEND NETANYAHU BE TRIED FOR MEDIA CORRUPTION

Israel Police are willing to submit their recommendations to the Public Prosecutor’s Office regarding their investigation into allegations of corruption against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Israeli media revealed on Friday.

Israel’s Channel 10 news reported that Case 4000 (sometimes known as the Bezeq case) will be the third file in which the police recommend Netanyahu be prosecuted for corruption, having previously recommended he be charged in both Case 1000 and Case 2000.

Commenting on the investigation, Netanyahu said that he is sure the case will be closed without presenting any indictments against him.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Right now, with Defense Minister Lieberman having resigned last Thursday, and with Netanyahu so desperate to keep his coalition cabinet from falling into further disarray, look for something dramatic to keep the focus off him, and on some other criminal "state actor du jure" (Iran?!? Lebanon??Gaza?? Syria??)

Right now, as a geopolitically "wounded animal" and with opposition parties calling for early snap elections, he desperately needs a huge distraction to keep the media focus off of the potential trial, and on anywhere else possible.

IN FIRST, US ENDORSES ISRAELI OCCUPATION OF GOLAN, VOTES AGAINST 9 ANTI-ISRAEL RESOLUTIONS

The US has, for the first time, endorsed the Israeli occupation of the Golan Heights by voting against an annual UN resolution that condemned the occupation and was unanimously approved along with several other resolutions against Tel Aviv.

The resolution titled “The occupied Syrian Golan,” adopted on Friday with 151 votes in favor, two against (Israel and the US), and 14 abstentions, condemns Israel for “repressive measures” against Syrian citizens in the Golan Heights.

The resolution, which was adopted during the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly’s Special Political and Decolonization Committee (Fourth Committee), expresses deep concern that the Syrian Golan, occupied since 1967, has been under continued Israeli military occupation.

The non-binding annual resolution takes issue with the “illegality of the decision” taken by Israel “to impose its laws, jurisdiction and administration on the occupied Syrian Golan,” which is illegal under international law.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Why is it, that no matter which political party in this country wins or loses any election, Israel is always the winner?!?

"I Can Not Recall": The Reclamation of George W. Bush Is an American Tragedy

By Maj. Danny Sjursen
The whole charade plays best as farce. Absurdity incarnate. The sight of former President George W. Bush receiving a medal from Democrat Joe Biden – once an ardent opponent of Bush’s war policy – in Philadelphia for “his work with veterans,” on Veterans Day no less, induced nothing short of a gag from this veteran of two Bush wars – Iraq and Afghanistan.

George W. Bush, after all, led the U.S. military – to which I’ve dedicated my adult life – into two ill-advised perpetual wars, one of which was objectively illegal and immoral. In that war, in Iraq, some 7,000 American troops – including three of mine – were killed fighting in an unwinnable quagmire. Furthermore, though it slipped the attention of an American citizenry best known for its provincial inwardness, at least 250,000 Iraqis – mostly civilians – were killed. In a just world this would be labeled what it is – a war crime – but in this era of American hegemony, the populace simply sighs with apathy.

‘Get it right!’ Israeli consulate spars with US journalist over Gaza headlines

An American journalist who pointed out the extensive edits the New York Times made to its article about the Israeli bombing of Gaza found himself in a heated Twitter argument with the Israeli consulate.

A Twitter account “Editing The Gray Lady,” which tracks edits to the Times, revealed on Monday how the US paper of record changed its headlines and copy to describe the events in Gaza.

“Incredible propaganda,” Ben Norton, a New York-based writer for The Real News, commented on the edits, adding that the Times “bent over backward and rewrote its article to erase how Israel initiated the violence in Gaza, obscuring the fact that Gaza's self-defense was ‘retaliatory’ and instead pushing the covert Israeli operation until the end.”

Israeli Coalition on Brink of Collapse as Hawks Rage Over Gaza Ceasefire

In Israeli politics, wars against the Palestinians tend to be winning issues, especially for far-right governments. That’s why Monday’s flare-up in Gaza thrilled hawks in the current coalition. Peace, however, is another matter. Peace threatens to collapse the coalition government outright.

Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman, an outspoken opponent of the ceasefire in Gaza, quit on Wednesday morning. Education Minister Naftali Bennett could be close behind, as he’s demanding the defense portfolio job, or he’ll pull his party out as well.

Though Netanyahu desperately wants to avoid early elections, it’s not clear how he’s going to be able to. Indications are that he wants to keep the defense ministry for himself, and even then giving it to Bennett, who reportedly laid out a plan for conquering Gaza during the security cabinet, is probably not a real option.

We learned about his personal history, his family, and what his apartment in Ashkelon looked like after the Palestinian missile hit it. 6 RECENT US ANTIWAR PROTESTS THE MEDIA DOESN'T WANT YOU TALKING ABOUT

A friend told me yesterday that he hadn’t seen an antiwar protest in America in ten years. It was a sincere comment; he genuinely hadn’t seen any coverage on any peace activism in his country during that time. And of course he hadn’t; it is mainstream media’s job to distort public narratives in favor of the war-hungry plutocratic class which owns the media outlets. But I’ve actually been noticing a lot of antiwar activism lately which, while often far from the spotlight of mass media attention, has given me much hope for the future.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Foreign policy in this country is ultimately outsourced to the people/countries who, and which, can pay the most for it.

Right now, the highest bidders, and owners, for US foreign policy are, respectively, Israel and Saudi Arabia.

Israel has shared an absolutely, fact-free, poisoned narration of its relationship with Gaza, the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and all of the rest of the countries which surround it with President Trump, and he has absolutely taken the bait. Of course that "bait" was "sweetened" by the very generous donations of the casino mogul, Sheldon Adelson, and his wife Miriam.

Sheldon and Miriam Adelson gave $55 milion in September to support Trump and the Republicans

That is why The unhinged, surveilled state of Amerika, is in such a loop of endless wars, followed by new wars, with no real justification for why it must be the US who must fight them in the first place. The "Payoffs" to Adelson and Israel were:

1. The US declaration of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel
2. The withdrawal of the US from the P5+1 agreement, and the imposition of horrific sanctions against Iran, and putting the US on a "war footing" against Iran, which Israel sees as its "existential threat" in the region
3. Massively more money for Israel's military
4. Keeping US troops in Syria "to answer the "scourge" of Iranian troops staying in that country, coordinating with the Russian and Syrian troops, to wipe out the last of the US-funded jihadists (This, potentially, may lead to a hot war in Russia, but hey, who cares?!?)
5. Cutting off any funds for humanitarian aid for Gaza
6. The awarding of the Presidential Medal of Freedom to Miriam Adelson
Miriam Adelson Receives the Presidential Medal of Freedom
(Wow; I guess that in current circles, that can be bought also)
7. Letting Prime Minister Netanyahu have an absolutely free hand with the Palestinians, including stealing and annexing their land, which has belonged to Palestinian families for generations, and engineering borders encroaching Palestinian residents' land for use by the the illegal Jewish settlers, which means that it is now impossible for the Palestinians to have a contiguous state.
6. President Trump's NOT reading the riot act when Israel passed the controversial nation-state law Israel passes nation State Law. The bill went on to state: "Israel passed early Thursday a controversial bill that officially defines Israel as the national homeland of the Jewish people and asserts that "the realization of the right to national self-determination in Israel is unique to the Jewish people," sparking outrage from Israel's Arab community and provoking concern from the international community."

Now, let us turn to President Trump's other BFF,Saudi Arabia's Prince Mohammed bin Salman, AKA, the Butcher of Yemen. And what has the "payoff" been here for Saudi Arabia?!?

1. The opportunity to purchase lots of weapons with which to create a genocide in Yemen.

In fact, President Trump and the US's own Mike Pompeo thought this so important that he lied to Congress about what Saudi Arabia was going to do with those weapons. Pompeo lied to Congress about Yemen to protect Arms Sales
2. The US has aided and abetted Saudi war crimes in Yemen, which include:

A - The deliberate killing of infants, women, and the medically fragile elderly. Images; Yemeni children slaughtered or maimed for live, courtesy of Saudi bombing raids

B - The US-enabled blockading of Yemen ports, leading to massive starvation, and a cholera epidemic (possibly weaponized):

Images: Yemeni children dying from malnutrition

Images: Yemeni children sicked by cholera

3. The deafening conspiracy of silence on this war from the American Presstitutes.

4. Possible assistance from the US on starting up a nuclear weapons program Congress members want Trump to report on Saudi Arabia's nuclear ambitions

5. A covert, but growing alliance with Israel against their alleged common enemy, Iran.

6. The US giving the Prince "cover" on Saudi Arabia's brutal execution of Adnan Khashoggi, even though this may well have been planned by the Crown Prince himself.

It is sobering to think, that President Trump's two BFFs in the Middle East, are the most ruthless, tyrannical leaders in that part of the world; Israel's Prime Minister, Benyamin Netanyahu, the Butcher of Gaza, and Saudi Crown Prince bin Salman, the Butcher of Yemen.

When murder is permissible: Israel’s ‘targeted assassinations’

One of the anomalies of political Zionism is that, while it was founded as a response to murderous pogroms against European and Russian Jews as a means to rescue them from such treatment by having a safe haven to go to, the founding fathers of the State of Israel and their successors have had no qualms about inflicting terrible suffering and hardship on others in order to achieve their aims. The stated aim of making sure that the ultimate pogrom called the Holocaust, for example, will “never again” befall the Jews, has meant that “again and again” is the rule with regards to Israel’s violations against the Palestinians and anyone else deemed to be an enemy.

Is Israel turning a blind eye as Israeli scammers swindle victims in France, US, elsewhere?

French and Israeli media report that a group largely made up of Israelis scammed 3,000 French citizens out of approximately $20 million. Most of the stolen money is in Israel, but Israeli authorities are reportedly failing to cooperate with France in prosecuting the scammers and retrieving the money.

This is the latest of numerous examples of Israeli officials stone-walling international efforts against the perpetrators of massive financial swindles around the world, according to Israeli investigative journalists and others. These scams have brought estimated billions into the Israeli economy, propping up a regime widely condemned for human rights abuses and ethnic cleansing against indigenous Palestinians. Together, the stories paint a picture of a government that seems to be turning a blind eye to – and even protecting – scammers.

Israel restricted access to the sea for fishing since Monday evening, according to the rights group Gisha.

On Wednesday Israel partly lifted the restrictions but banned fishers from working in the waters of northern Gaza, accounting for one-third of the coastline.

SYRIAN WAR REPORT – NOVEMBER 15, 2018: ISRAELI DEFENSE MINISTER RESIGNS AMID SETBACKS IN GAZA, SYRIA

On November 14, Avigdor Lieberman announced his resignation describing the Egyptian-mediated ceasefire with Hamas in the Gaza Strip as “a capitulation to terror”. Lieberman added that he fiercely objected to Israel’s allowing Qatar to deliver $15m in aid to Gaza last week.

Hamas called Lieberman’s resignation a “political victory for Gaza.” Hamas spokesperson Sami Abu Zuhri said that this development marked “recognition of defeat and failure to confront the Palestinian resistance”, adding that “Gaza’s steadfastness sent a political shockwave” through Israel.

Israel Wins 2018 Midterm Election

Judging from the mainstream media, Israel was not a major issue in the midterm election but it sure did come up a lot when candidates for office were wooing Jewish or Evangelical voters. To cite only one example, Florida Congressman Ron DeSantis criticized his opponent Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum during their gubernatorial race for receiving support from the Dream Defenders, a group favoring Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) against Israel, and giving a speech welcoming members of the Council on American-Islamic Relations to his city. DeSantis claimed in a video clip that “I can find anti-Semites around him, but it’s almost like ‘we don’t want to discuss that.’”

DeSantis, who sponsored the 2013 Palestinian Accountability Act which called for the withholding of U.S. aid to the Palestinian Authority until it recognizes Israel as a Jewish state, charged that Gillum would not be a “friend” of Israel. In 2017, he co-founded the Congressional Israel Victory Caucus, saying “Israel is our strongest ally in the Middle East, as we share common national interests and possess similar national values. Israel is not the problem in the Middle East; it is the solution to many of the problems that bedevil the region. American policy must ensure that Israel emerges victorious against those who deny or threaten her existence.”>>>

Bolton Vows to ‘Squeeze’ Iran, Escalating Sanctions

With the newly reimposed US sanctions against Iran having little to no perceivable economic impact, national security adviser John Bolton is talking up his plans to continue to escalate the sanctions track, saying he will “squeeze Iran until the pips squeak.”

Bolton shrugged off the reality that Iran is still doing business internationally, saying that he believes Iran is “under real pressure” from the sanctions, and that he’s determined to see it keep getting worse.

Bolton went on to predict that the European efforts to keep trading with Iran would ultimately fail. He said the Europeans are going through the six stages of grief, and would ultimately lead to European acceptance of the US demands.

Webmaster's Commentary:

With sa growing number of countries ignoring the sanctions outright, what does Bolton think the US should do with all the countries still trading outright, declare war on them?!?
