Palestine, Israel and the News Media

On November 18 of this year, the news media was awash with the news of the killing of four rabbis at a synagogue in Jerusalem. This is headline news for CNN and the New York Times, the latter of which had the nerve to say this: “Witnesses and Israeli leaders were particularly horrified at the religious overtones of an attack on a synagogue….”

Where, one may naively ask, were these august news outlets during the past several weeks, as Israeli settlers, protected and even aided by Israeli soldiers, desecrated sacred mosques in Jerusalem? Where were the horrified reports of dead and bloodied Palestinians? What about the complete desecration of Muslim holy sites? Were no witnesses and Palestinian ‘leaders horrified at the religious overtones of an attack on a’ mosque?

Rabbis plan to build temple on Al-Aqsa ruins

In the clearest indication of the growing dangers threatening Al-Aqsa Mosque, in an opinion piece published on Saturday, Haaretz discussed a group of rabbis who met to discuss the scheme for the establishment of the Third Temple on the ruins of the mosque. The newspaper published a photograph of a number of rabbis and engineers studying a map of Al-Aqsa Mosque.

In a piece written by Professor Ronnie Ellenblum entitled "Bells are ringing for the ultra-Orthodox and Secular" [hebrew], the paper discussed the future of Al-Aqsa Mosque which Jews refer to as the Temple Mount.

Although the paper did not identify the rabbis who appeared in the picture, one of them has been identified as Rabbi Yisrael Ariel, president of the Temple Institute, a religious authority that is considered the most enthusiastic about destroying Al-Aqsa Mosque and establishing a temple on its ruins.

Israelis buy properties in ISIL-held Iraqi cities: Report

A report says Israeli businessmen are buying properties belonging to the displaced minorities in the ISIL-held regions in northern Iraq to prepare the ground for accommodation of more than 2,000 people there.

Citing a local source, Fars News Agency reported that estate agencies in Mosul and other cities of the Nineveh province in northern Iraq have began purchasing the houses and lands of Iraqi minorities including Christians and Izadis and Turkmens.

The estate agents offer “attractive prices” in exchange for the properties and later sell them to Israeli businessmen, the unnamed source said.

The source added that more than 2,000 Jews have recently returned to Iraq’s Kurdistan region to resettle in Iraq’s northern areas.

Only to be followed by the good news of today;

Israel violates Gaza ceasefire nearly every day

After Israeli warplanes bombed Gaza on Friday, the BBC described the air strike on “a Hamas facility” as “the first such action since the declaration of a truce in August.”

The short BBC News item, essentially a repackaged Israeli army press statement, added that the strike was “in response” to a rocket fired earlier from Gaza.

The casual reader would understand this to mean that Israel has held its fire since the August ceasefire which ended the intensive bombing this summer that claimed more than 2,200 Palestinian lives.

However, the reality is that Israel has fired on Palestinians in Gaza nearly every day since the 26 August truce.

Israeli Report admits they are Descendants of Khazars

“Israel seems finally to have thrown in the towel. A blue-ribbon team of scholars from leading research institutions and museums has just issued a secret report to the government, acknowledging that European Jews are in fact Khazars. (Whether this would result in yet another proposal to revise the words to “Hatikvah” remains to be seen.) At first sight, this would seem to be the worst possible news, given the Prime Minister’s relentless insistence on the need for Palestinian recognition of Israel as a “Jewish state” and the stagnation of the peace talks. Rabbi Shmuley Boteach taunted a crowd of human rights protesters in front of the seemingly closed and emptied flagship Leviev diamond store on Madison Avenue. Leviev’s companies have built thousands of Israeli settlement homes and have been accused of abusing and torturing Angolan diamond miners.

Boteach stood in front of the empty Leviev store and began shouting. “Israel,” “Down with Hamas,” “Israel, the only democracy in the Middle East,” “Down with the Palestinians.” He suddenly stopped and complained that he was being videotaped. Police told Boteach to leave as he was drowned out by chants of, “How fancy, how pretty, Leviev out of New York City.” Boteach was accompanied by a young man wearing a scarf for the notoriously racist Beitar Jerusalem football team. Boteach has expressed his support for Hebron’s notoriously violent and racist settlers.

Hamas arrests Gaza jihadis behind latest rocket attack: Israeli official

Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon said on Sunday that Hamas detained members of a global jihadi group in the Gaza Strip who fired a rocket into southern Israel over the weekend.

"It turns out that it's one of the global jihad organizations, one of those so-called rogue organizations," Ya'alon said.

CHANUKAH IN GAZA ~~ TIS THE SEASON TO DROP BOMBS

Israel and Palestinian factions signed a ceasefire agreement on Aug. 26 after a deadly Israeli offensive on Gaza that left more than 2,100 — overwhelmingly civilians — dead.

The ceasefire deal stipulated an end to hostilities, and Israel agreed to ease its devastating blockade on the Strip and expand the fishing zone off Gaza’s coast.

However, Palestinians accuse Israeli forces of regular ceasefire violations, with near-daily reports that navy soldiers have fired at fishermen off the coast of the enclave, and occasional reports of Israeli troops shooting and injuring Palestinians near the border.

The interest of the 'only democracy in the Middle East' is to block democracy in the Middle East

The so-called 'Arab Spring' has certainly reinforced the perception that the Middle East is a hotbed of intractable conflicts. Israel has never ceased to use this stereotype to its advantage, reminding the world that it is a beacon of democracy surrounded by hostile countries. The truth, however, is far more complex; and Israel's status in the region is not as unique as its supporters would like to claim.

Israel's ambivalent regional role can be made clear through one of the many remarkable aspects of the 2011 revolutions, that is, the way in which the Arab Spring presented contrasting fortunes for Israel and its Arab neighbours. During the early months of the revolutions, Israel looked to be the biggest loser; now and for the foreseeable future, it stands to be the biggest gainer.

French offer boxed cure for anti-Semitism

A Jewish-French organization is using humor to combat the recent surge of anti-Semitism in the country. The group has begun distributing boxes, labeled "Antisémitox, the first treatment against anti-Semitism."

The boxes contain three honey candies, several detox patches, and the text of a law outlining the penalties faced by those who publicly express anti-Semitic views, reports TV5 Monde. The group has manufactured 10,000 such boxes.

Webmaster's Commentary:

If they came out with "Antisemitox" then this could be a suitable antidote to those "Semitox" drugs that these specific hyper-active Jews must surely be over-dosing on -- invariably provoking what they call "antisemitism" in others, as a natural response to the pervasive chauvinism, hysteria, hypocrisy, narcissism, and aggression that these drugs must induce, either by design or as "side-effects".

Israel won't accept "unilateral" recognition of Palestine: Netanyahu

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Thursday, Dec 18 Israel would never accept the "unilateral" recognition of a Palestinian state, after a draft resolution calling for a final peace deal was submitted to the UN, according to Agence France-Presse.

In a statement from his office, Netanyahu accused Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas of "thinking he can threaten us by taking unilateral steps" over statehood.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Theoretically, a customs union carries mutual benefits to the member states. UN predictions fall short: Gaza uninhabitable today

Five months ago the world watched in horror as the bully of the Middle East, Israel, launched the most brutal massacre on the Palestinians of Gaza since the Nakba (perhaps more brutal, Palestinian friends in Gaza have said).

Palestine presents peace plan to the UN Council, Israel calls it an act of aggression

The resolution calls for a peace treaty within a year and Israel's withdrawal from the Occupied Territories by 2017. The peace plan also provides for two states within the 1967 borders with Jerusalem as a shared capital, plus bilateral security guarantees. US-led talks in the last 20 years have proven useless. Israeli official warns that another war against Gaza is looming

An Israeli official has warned that a new Israeli war on the Gaza Strip is coming soon. He stressed, however, that wars are only decided on by politicians, local media has reported.

"In the light of the current escalation, war with Gaza is just a matter of time," claimed the head of the Israeli settlement of Eshkol in the Western Negev, Hayim Yilin. The Israeli authorities claimed on Friday that a projectile launched from the south of the Gaza Strip landed in the illegal settlement. It is alleged to have been the third to be launched since the Israeli war on Gaza during the summer.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Recall that back on December 17th, long before the supposed launch of this rocket into an empty lot in Israel, Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon announced that Israel "might be" forced to attack Gaza. How vwery convenient that a "Palestinian" fires a single rocket into an empty stretch of ground in Israel just as Israel is ready to attack Gaza again!

Israel Airstrike Hits Hamas Site In Gaza

Israel's military struck a Hamas site in the Gaza Strip early Saturday in its first airstrike on the Palestinian territory since this summer's war.

The Israeli military said the airstrike on what it called a "Hamas terror infrastructure site" in the southern Gaza Strip was in response to a rocket fired from Gaza into southern Israel on Friday. The rocket fire caused no injuries.

Palestinian residents reported hearing two explosions in the Khan Yunis region of Gaza, in an area that contains training sites for Palestinian militants. No injuries were immediately reported.

Lt. Col. Peter Lerner, an Israeli army spokesman, said Israel's military "will not permit any attempt to undermine the security and jeopardize the well being of the civilians of Israel. The Hamas terrorist organization is responsible and accountable for today's attack against Israel."

Webmaster's Commentary:

This started yesterday, and appears to be open-ended on the part of the Israeli military.

They are most probably bombing schools and hospitals with great glee, even though there were absolutely no reports of injuries where these shells exploded.

I am fully expecting, with Obama off-site, and Americans generally preoccupied with Christmas and New Year's, that the IDF will continue bombing Gaza for as long as they believe they can get away with it.

The Israeli government has got to be made to understand that it cannot continue to wave the Holocaust in the face of the world, while practicing serial genocide against Gazan Palestinians, because this is precisely what is happening.

A few dead here...a few more maimed for live and wounded over there... and the Israeli government thinks, who notices?!?

To the Israeli government and Knesset; the world notices. The question is what the world is willing to do, and I think the will to demonstrate, tangibly, that this is totally unacceptable, is growing among the civilized countries of the world.

Palestinians criticize Canada for boycotting meeting on Israeli settlements

The top Palestinian diplomat in Canada says the Harper government should not have boycotted a United Nations conference this week that harshly criticized Israeli settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.

Said Hamad says Canada should have joined other countries at a conference in Geneva examining the Fourth Geneva Convention, which governs the rules of war and military occupation.

Some 126 countries of the 196 international parties to the convention adopted a resolution Wednesday saying Israel’s construction of settlements does not conform to its international legal obligations as an occupying power.

Along with Israel and the U.S., Canada boycotted the conference, another example of unwavering Conservative support of Israel — a position that has exposed deep differences with the majority of the United Nations.

Israel bombs Gaza for first time since summer assault

Israeli war jets bombed targets in the southern Gaza Strip, witnesses and the army said early Saturday, hours after a projectile from the besieged Palestinian enclave hit open ground in southern Israel.

A spokesman for Gaza's health ministry said there were no casualties in the attack, the first airstrike by Israel on the Palestinian enclave since the summer truce that ended Israel's 50-day assault on Gaza which killed over 2,000 Palestinians, the overwhelming majority of them civilians.

The Israeli army confirmed the strike, which it said "targeted a Hamas terror infrastructure site."

Webmaster's Commentary:

You need to ask yourself if Palestine would fire a single rocket into Israel just as the resolutions on Palestine are about to go before the Security Council. And a moment's thought suggests that Palestine is not that stupid and this is another Israel false-flag.

John Kerry already indicated the US would veto all Palestinian Resolutions, but this is uncomfortable for the US Government as it underscores that they are slaves to Israel. She said the rocket fire, a “violation of the truce” following Israel’s Protective Edge bombing campaign earlier this year, “is one of the most serious attacks on Gaza.”

Other people in the area have reported that there are blackouts in part of Gaza, such as Khan Younis.

Speculation upon the Cause of Israel did 911 Denial.

I’ve taken a long and circuitous route to get to where I wanted to get in this posting. All that has preceded it sets the stage for the wide angle mindset of the masses. 9/11 was an Inside Job that was done by Israel, in tandem with domestic and foreign intelligence agencies. The proof of this, should you care to look, is overwhelmingly conclusive from the circumstantial, independent of all the hard core evidence. If you are at all curious, you can find more than you will have time to study and all of it, which is the fruit of legitimate, non agenda driven inquiry, points to the same players. So what is the why of people’s indifference to this shocking picture of murderous treachery, on the part of a supposed good friend and ally, and the willful and conscious treason of individuals sworn to protect their country? Even before this we have the U.S. Liberty, which Israel bombed in a desire to fuel a wider war.

The Jewish Cosmopolitans Have Reached The Anal Stage

Two month ago, we became aware of an utterly gross video ‘installation’ by Natalie Cohen-Waxberg. In the video, Cohen-Waxberg poo-ed over many national flags including Arab flags. At the time, I didn’t notice any Jewish Left organisations criticise Cohen-Waxberg’s production.

Soon after being caught on camera attempting to push into a toilet cabin with another man, Blumenthal gave an interview in which he expressed the worst form of vile Goy-hatred. He denounced ‘German pathology’ and referred to German sickening society,

The hatred of Jewish progressives for the Goyim and the nations of the world is cause for great concern. History reveals that it wasn’t Zionism that disturbed the National Socialists and many Europeans in the 1930’s; it was actually Jewish cosmopolitanism and cultural Marxists.

U.S. seeks to counter Palestinian UN resolution with alternative offer, says French diplomat

EU coal in Israel’s sock

The bad news for Israel keeps on coming, and judging by the reactions of Israeli and U.S. politicians, more is yet to come.

The Israelis were aghast at the news that a European court found that Hamas should be removed from the EU’s terror list. Benjamin Netanyahu reacted with his predictable buffoonery and bombast, alleging that Europe has “learned nothing” from the Holocaust.

The reality is that Israel has learned nothing from several decades of warnings by its friends and allies, who have repeatedly said Israeli indifference to human rights law, the provisions of Geneva Conventions, and the realities of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict would lead only to stalemate and backlash.

Demands for two-state solution intensify

Commenting on the issue, Lebanon’s Daily Star noted that US Secretary of State John Kerry arrived in Europe as sympathy for the Palestinian cause was increasing across the continent, both on the street and at a political level. “In recent weeks, parliaments in France, Spain, the UK, Portugal and Ireland have recommended that their governments formally recognise Palestine and Sweden has taken that further step. These steps have left the US in an awkward position and it has still to declare whether or not it would use its veto were a UN resolution on Palestinian statehood recognition to come up soon. Officials have also implied it is not yet set in stone how the US would vote whether a timetable for Israeli withdrawal from [occupied] East Jerusalem and the West Bank was introduced, Jordan having last month circulated a draft motion scheduling November 2016 as a deadline.”

Netanyahu: We expect the EU to put Hamas back on the terror blacklist immediately

Israel reacted furiously on Wednesday to the European Court of Justice’s decision to take Hamas off the EU’s list of terrorist organization, rejecting explanations that this was just a technical step that will be overturned before it is implemented.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, before a meeting with Joni Ernst, the newly elected Republican senator from Iowa, called it one example of “staggering” European “hypocrisy.”

Jordan submits UN draft on Palestinians; Lieberman: Act of aggression

After a day of closed-door negotiations among Arab members of the United Nations, Jordan, which represents Arab countries on the Security Council, put the draft resolution "in blue," meaning the text of the draft has been finalized and could be put to a vote 24 hours later.

While the resolution could be put to a vote late Thursday, Riyad Mansour, Palestinian ambassador to the UN, said his country was open to continuing negotiations.

"The draft in blue in not closing the door to the continuation of the negotiation with all of our partners," Mansour said. "We are willing to work with those who want to work with us in the Security Council in a positive and constructive way."

Palestinian school threatened by Israeli bulldozers

It took two years of hard work to build the Samra community school in the occupied West Bank’s Jordan Valley.

But an Israeli demolition order issued against the school in October threatens to leave dozens of children without nearby access to education.

The demolition order was given under the pretext that the school was built without a permit. Yet building permits are only very rarely issued to Palestinians by the Israeli occupation authorities, one of many measures intended to push Palestinians out of the area.

Palestinians present resolution to UN calling for final peace accord with Israel

The Palestinians on Wednesday presented a draft UN resolution laying out terms for a final peace deal with Israel but sought to avoid a clash with the United States by saying they were open to negotiations on the text.

The draft resolution obtained by AFP would set a 12-month deadline for wrapping up negotiations on a final settlement and the end of 2017 as the time frame for completing an Israeli withdrawal from Palestinian territories.

WAR CRIMES: Israel’s ‘Collective Punishment’ of Gaza Released Amid Palestinian Push for Statehood

The human rights group Amnesty International has charged that Israel was in violation of humanitarian law due to the deliberate destruction of civilian buildings in the Gaza Strip following a brutal siege over the summer dubbed Operation Brother’s Keeper.

According to a recent investigative report by Amnesty International, Israel’s actions were tantamount to war crimes based on their unjustified destruction of buildings in the Gaza Strip between August 23-26 of 2014. Even though there were no civilian casualties during the decimation of those buildings, the advocacy group report states that the ‘collective punishment’ was without justification and in clear violation of the international community.

Predictably, Israel has asserted that the buildings destroyed have been allegedly linked to Hamas and that Amnesty International has fallen prey to a conspiratorial plot crafted by Hamas. However, there has been no definitive proof offered by Israel to prove this claim.

Kerry had earlier said that Washington has not decided on the Security Council draft resolution saying: “The time is not right for speculation about a UN draft resolution that has not been submitted yet.”

Truth In Berlin

The Jerusalem Post reported yesterday that Germany’s Family Ministry and the Berlin Senate are engulfed in an anti-Israel scandal because they provided some funding for the three-day Canaan conference that included a group that had previously hosted a speaker who called for an “end of Jewry” and claimed that “Zionists are racists.”

If anyone still harbored some remote doubts about racism and the ‘Jews only State’, such doubts evaporated last month when the Israeli cabinet approved Israel’s National Bill, a law that specifically affirms the primacy of Jews in Israel.

ZION SUFFERS FROM VERITASPHOBIA

Fear is an emotional state produced in human beings and other animals to watch for real or anticipated dangers. An animal that reacts to danger or even potential danger and escapes lives and reproduces. Selection favored such mechanisms to be hightened in situations of danger of predation, of starvation of accidental death and so on. But an animal that is exceptionally fearful is also disadvantaged because it can avoid going out to find food or a better shelter or a mate. Fear is a double edged sword; useful in moderation especially when accompanied by logical thinking based on real phenomena and harmful in certain situations.

WATCH THE WICKED WITCH OF THE JERUSALEM POST MELT DOWN

The following lecture by Caroline Glick meted out to Danish Ambassador Jesper Vahr at the Jerusalem Post Diplomatic Conference last Thursday is simultaneously so over the top and so typical of apologists for Israel that it deserves wide attention.

Glick, the deputy managing editor of the Jerusalem Post, is a popular right wing public figure in Israel and abroad. Her fans can’t get enough of her, note the uploader of the video (below) thinks she’s “brilliant” and you can hear audience members cheering her on as she berates Ambassador Vahr in this clip. She got a lot of airtime in The New Yorker last month.

As a longtime Glick-watcher I have developed a deep appreciation for her mobile facial expressions and body language. There’s never any doubt how much disdain she has for her adversaries. Whether it’s a good tactic for dealing with diplomats, though– well, judge for yourself.

Iran Missile Capability Non-Negotiable

A senior advisor to Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has ruled out any negotiations whatsoever over the Islamic Republic's defensive missile capabilities.

“Iran’s missile issue is not up for any type of negotiation,” Ali Akbar Velayati told reporters on Monday.

The senior Iranian official added that the issue of the country’s missile program would not be part of the upcoming nuclear talks with the P5+1 group of countries in the Swiss city of Geneva.

Some Western officials, particularly in the US, have called for Iran's missile program to be included in the country's nuclear talks with the P5+1 - Russia, China, France, Britain, the US and Germany.

George Clooney’s Fiancée Rejects UN Gaza War Crimes Commission

Amal Alamuddin, actor George Clooney’s fiancée, has turned down a United Nations appointment to a commission investigating possible war crimes in the occupied Gaza Strip during Israel’s military offensive.

The Geneva-based UN Human Rights Council announced Monday that Alamuddin, a Lebanese-born British human rights attorney, would join two other experts on a special commission to investigate looking into possible violations of the rules of war during the Israeli offensive against Hamas. The council is a 47 member-state body elected by the member states of the U.N. Its mission is to promote human rights.

Israeli-American real estate mogul Adam Milstein recently made headlines when it emerged that he had solicited funds on behalf of two student senate candidates at the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) who espouse strong anti-Palestinian views.

When asked about the donations, which had reportedly been funneled through UCLA’s chapter of the Zionist campus organization Hillel, by Mondoweiss’ Alex Kane, Milstein feigned ignorance: “When I make a donation to the UCLA Foundation or what have you, I don’t know what they’re doing with the money.”

However, Milstein’s claims were swiftly belied by emails discovered by Chloe Hunt of UC Berkeley campus newspaper The Daily Californian.

Israel Framed CIA in Backing Jundallah Terrorists

The 2007 revelation by ABC News that the Bush Administration was covertly backing the Jundallah terrorist organization in an effort to convince them to launch attacks on Iran was no small embarrassment for the administration, and a considerable source of tension with the Shi’ite world as the militants attacked mosques and killed large numbers of civilians.

The only problem is, it apparently didn’t happen. At least not the way ABC News claims. Instead of being direct US backing, by way of the CIA, for a State Department listed terrorist organization (a big no-no), Foreign Policy is reporting today that the whole thing was actually a Mossad plot designed to frame the CIA and the administration.

Collective punishment of 1.8 million human shields in a prison — Newsweek dares publish the truth of Gaza

The evening I left, I passed back by Beit Hanoun. Three young teenagers were digging in the dark… They were clearing the rubble from their family orchard.

The teenagers showed me where they had planted a new clementine tree. As I squeezed back out of the Erez turnstiles, I realised why there was no longer a need to plaster up martyrs pictures on Gaza’s walls. The latest collective punishment inflicted on 1.8 million Gazans had made martyrs of them all.

It's time to encourage a 'Jewish Spring'

As elections loom and politicians begin to woo their voters in Israel, now is the time for people power. As an extraordinarily critical time emerges in the Middle East, love them or hate them, it is time for us to get out our pompoms and support real change in Israel.

Questions need to be asked of the major US funders, who are using outlandish propaganda to raise funds - such as 40% of cot deaths in Israel are in fact murder and 38% of children are sexually or psychologically abused. What sane democratic country such as the USA would pour in military aid to such a deranged people? Of course, the spreading of such lies is merely a smokescreen for the these funders to make money in their own private institutions. One such organisation - the Lynn Shusterman Foundation - seems to be using outlandish propaganda to feed its private profits.

NeoCon Glenn Beck is a devoted cheerleader of Zionism. Making things worse, he is also a Dispensationalist. Departing from the solid research on condemning the failed philosophy of Progressivism, Beck demeans his audience with a false history of Palestine and the nature of the Israeli state. His religious doctrine regarding Israel makes him an apostate. Duping well intentions, but ill-informed viewers into accepting the crimes of Israel, as the will of God, is why he is a Trojan horse.

He is just one of the countless buffoons or propagandists who earned their place in the media circus by proving their loyalty to a gang of criminals. Israel is no ally of the United States.
