Military intervention in Libya “unacceptable”, Tuareg official

Libya's Tuareg representative to the Libyan national dialogue, Mossa Al-Koni yesterday rejected any "foreign military intervention in Libya" stressing that his country "does not export terrorism, but terrorism penetrated its territories following the French military intervention in Mali in 2013".

In an interview with the Anadolu Agency, Al-Koni who served as a member of the transitional council after the revolution of 17 February 2011 said: "No one accepts the killing of Egyptian Copts in this way, the images were shocking not to only to Libyans but for the international community, especially that these innocent people had nothing to do with the ongoing conflict."

He added that these actions "cannot be attributed to Libya or Libyans".

Libya crisis ‘created by NATO intervention’

NATO’s 2011 intervention created the devastation and chaos in Libya that enabled the rise of ISIS militants and the current crisis surrounding the killing of 21 Egyptian Christians, an American scholar told RT.

The current situation is “precisely the consequence of the kind of war NATO waged in Libya, destroying the infrastructure, collapsing the state, and allowing a bunch of different militia groups to be treated as heroes,” said Vijay Prashad, a professor at Trinity College in Connecticut, and the author of “Arab Spring, Libyan Winter.”

Report: CIA Was Running Arms in Benghazi

The Telegraph reports that the CIA has been regularly polygraphing operatives to see if anyone is talking about a gun running operation that was taking place out of Benghazi prior to the 9.11.12 attack.

According to the report, 35 CIA operatives were working in Benghazi when the attack took place. They were allegedly in an “annex near the consulate [working] on a project to supply missiles from Libyan armories to Syrian rebels.”

LEAKED EVIDENCE: Sen. John McCain Involved In Major Islamic Conspiracy To Establish Islamic State

Recently revealed conversations between the Pentagon and the Gadhafi regime in 2011 show that then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was serving the Muslim Brotherhood by pushing a false narrative to justify the removal of Muammar Gadhafi, as Shoebat.com has reported. With the help of corroborating evidence, we’re closer to proving that Republican Senator John McCain was likely just as invested in facilitating the rise of the Muslim Brotherhood in Libya as Hillary was. Before getting to the evidence that implicates McCain, let’s work backward from the Benghazi attacks.

Washington Times’ Bombshell Tapes Confirm Citizen Commission’s Findings on Benghazi

Two new stories from The Washington Times expose some of the infighting among government agencies and branches of government on this controversial decision, and highlight the key role that Clinton played in initiating the war. You can listen to tapes of discussions between Pentagon staffers, former Representative Dennis Kucinich (D-OH), and the Qaddafi regime for yourself.

This news also validates the Citizens’ Commission on Benghazi (CCB) 2014 interim report, which exposed that Muammar Qaddafi had offered truce talks and a possible peaceful abdication to the United States, which Washington turned down.

“[The article] also makes it clear that the Benghazi investigation needs to be broadened to answer the question: ‘Why did America bomb Libya in the first place?’” commented Rear Admiral Chuck Kubic (Ret.), a key source for the CCB’s interim report who was also quoted by the Times.

Trey Gowdy's secret tapes focus on Hillary's Islamic adventure

The recently formed ad hoc House of Representatives committee tasked with investigating the 2012 Benghazi, Libya, terrorist attack on an American consulate plans to listen and study secretly recorded tapes that some claim may answer nagging questions regarding presidential contender and then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's role in the 2011 U.S. military intervention in Libya, according to Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-South Carolina, on Tuesday. The U.S. intervention is credited with helping Libyan rebels overthrow the tyrant Muammar Gaddafi.
While the media continues to ignore her "missteps and gaffs," a large number of Americans believe Clinton is a deceitful, power hungry political animal.

Unfortunately, the removal and killing of Gaddafi led to political chaos and Islamic terrorism perpetrated by al-Qaida affiliated terrorists and tribal militias, with the mere semblance of a national government weakened by a lack of public support and resources.

Leaked Audio Proves 2011 Libya War Rationale a Fraud

Truth is the first casualty in war, but in Libya it’s resurrecting. There was never any evidence to support President Obama’s and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s claims to oust the Muammar Gaddafi government in Libya.

Just released audio tapes reveal the hurry to war was all propaganda. Pentagon and Congressional personnel privy to reality worked in secret to prevent the U.S. intervention in Libya that lasted over seven months.

Washington’s Not-So-Faulty Logic: Back al Qaeda-Linked Rebels in Libya, Crush Non-al-Qaeda-linked Rebels in Ukraine

Washington Times is reporting on new revelations about Obama/Clinton’s illegal decision to kill people in Libya.

US intelligence, the top human rights groups, and scholars say Obama/Clinton’s claims of an impending “genocide” in Libya, the pretext for US planting and detonation of explosives in Libya, were unfounded.

The Times notes that the false claims were partially “rooted in Gadhafi’s Feb. 22, 2011, speech in which he pledged to “sanitize Libya an inch at a time” and “clear them of these rats.”

However:

A month later, Gadhafi delivered another speech in which he made it clear that only those standing against him with arms would face reprisal.

Secret Benghazi report reveals Hillary’s Libya war push armed al Qaeda-tied terrorists

Libyan officials were deeply concerned in 2011, as Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton was trying to remove Moammar Gadhafi from power, that weapons were being funneled to NATO-backed rebels with ties to al Qaeda, fearing that well-armed insurgents could create a safe haven for terrorists, according to secret intelligence reports obtained by The Washington Times.

Hillary Clinton’s ‘WMD’ moment: U.S. intelligence saw false narrative in Libya

The intelligence community gathered no specific evidence of an impending genocide in Libya in spring 2011, undercutting Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton’s primary argument for using the U.S. military to remove Col. Moammar Gadhafi from power, an event that has left his country in chaos, according to officials with direct knowledge of the dispute.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The US invaded Libya because Gaddafi shut down the private central bank, created a state central bank and a value-based currency called the Gold Dinar. Then he announced that Libya's oil was for sale, but only for the Gold Dinar. That was a direct threat to the hegemony of the US dollar/petrodollar.

Libya terror suspect Anas al-Liby dies before US trial

An alleged al-Qaeda leader has died just days before going on trial in New York over the 1998 US embassy attacks in Africa.

Abu Anas al-Liby, 50, died in hospital on Friday, his wife and lawyers say. He is reported to have had liver cancer.

Mr Liby was seized in a US raid in Tripoli in October 2013.

He was to stand trial on 12 January over the 1998 embassy attacks, which killed more than 220 people in Kenya and Tanzania.

Mr Liby, whose real name was Nazih Abdul-Hamed al-Ruqai, previously pleaded not guilty to terrorism charges.

His wife, Um Abdullah, accused the US government on Saturday of "kidnapping, mistreating and killing an innocent man," according to the Associated Press news agency.

Could Libyan Militants Spark An Oil Price Rebound?

Analysts have speculated whether the slump in oil prices would be reversed by an uptick in demand, a buying spree by investors in cheap commodities, or high-cost producers being forced out of the market. Libya has experienced several waves of violence in recent years, violence that has caused periodic disruptions in Libya’s oil sector.

All-out war is coming to Libya, as rebel militias and a government-in-hiding begin a battle for control of the country.

Zeina, 27, was hanging out her washing when the first Grad rocket smashed into a neighbor’s house at the end of her dusty street. The deafening boom was followed by the telltale buzz of more incoming rockets. Libya’s civil war had landed on her doorstep.

“It started as a normal day — then we heard the sound of shelling and rockets,” said the young mother. “Without warning, they hit our houses. We fled with just the clothes we were wearing.”

Zeina is now crammed together with seven other people in a cinderblock outhouse that is part of Tripoli’s zoo. According to the official reports, the Libyan air force, controlled by Thinni, hit several targets in the Libyan Dawn controlled city of Misrata, including a sea port, an air force academy near the airfield and a steel mill, the largest in the country, in an attempt to disrupt the town’s economic viability. Representatives for Libyan Dawn confirmed the airstrikes, claiming no immediate victims or damage.

The West is silent as Libya falls into the abyss

Remember the time when Libya was being held up by the American, British, French and Qatari governments as a striking example of benign and successful foreign intervention? It is worth looking again at film of David Cameron grandstanding as liberator in Benghazi in September 2011 as he applauds the overthrow of Muammar Gaddafi and tells the crowd that "your city was an example to the world as you threw off a dictator and chose freedom".

Webmaster's Commentary:

What is going on in Libya is a repeat of what happened in Iran in 1979 and currently in Iraq. The people of the nation are taking it back from the US puppet rulers. But, the US Government is having a tough time selling the invasion of Syria to the war weary American people, let alone a THIRD invasion of Iraq. Adding a second invasion of Libya is likely to result in a collective, "Oh come ON now" from the populace, followed by a complete collapse of what little public support for the Federal Government still exists.

9/11 Was NATO’s License to Expand Globally

The 9/11 attacks on the United States undoubtedly benefited a number of actors, including the American military-intelligence complex, Israel, and most definitely, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). The Cold War-era, the area of responsibility for which had long been confined to Europe and North America, used the provisions of Article 5 of the NATO Charter – which states that an attack on one member is an attack on all – to extend NATO’s power deep into Eurasia, particularly in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Kyrgyzstan.

After engaging in out-of-area invasions and occupations of Afghanistan, Iraq, Somalia, Libya, and Syria and, again in Iraq, against the «Islamic State,» the «North Atlantic» military bloc has transformed itself from a Cold War defensive alliance into a global offensive axis of nations that acts with or without United Nations authorization.

Libya: From Africa’s Richest State Under Gaddafi, to Failed State After NATO Intervention

This week marks the three-year anniversary of the Western-backed assassination of Libya’s former president, Muammar Gaddafi, and the fall of one of Africa’s greatest nations.

In 1967 Colonel Gaddafi inherited one of the poorest nations in Africa; however, by the time he was assassinated, Gaddafi had turned Libya into Africa’s wealthiest nation. Libya had the highest GDP per capita and life expectancy on the continent. Less people lived below the poverty line than in the Netherlands.

After NATO’s intervention in 2011, Libya is now a failed state and its economy is in shambles. As the government’s control slips through their fingers and into to the militia fighters’ hands, oil production has all but stopped.

Webmaster's Commentary:

When I was 16, my parents bought me a nice bicycle with which to ride to school. Brand new, shiny, lots of chrome, and all the gadgets. Without intending to I had what was clearly the nicest bike in the neighborhood. So, some other kids grabbed the bike one day and smashed it up, and while I was able to repair it, the remaining dents and scratches made it appear inferior to the bikes ridden by those other boys. Now, you expect that sort of behavior from 16 year old boys, but it appears the governments of the US and EU, unable to actually make their nations great while in slavery to the private central banks, have hit on the idea of stealing other peoples' nations and smashing them up, in order to go on claiming that they, the US and EU, are the greatest nations remaining on Earth. That does not say very much about the governments we allow to rule us.

An Egyptian Intervention in Libya

Two Egyptian officials claimed the country’s warplanes had begun bombing positions in Benghazi, the second-largest city in neighboring Libya, on Wednesday, in an attempt to wrest control of the city from the Ansar-al-Sharia Islamist militia. The mission, which will be led by Libyan pilots, marks the highest-profile collaboration between the two North African countries, both of which are beset by instability, since they experienced simultaneous Arab Spring revolutions in 2011. The Egyptian government has officially denied the news.

According to the Associated Press, the mission is slated to last three to six months and will “eventually involve Libyan ground troops recently trained by Egyptian forces.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

The instability in Libya is directly tied to the US/NATO-led overthrow of Gaddafi, and the return to a private central bank.

The Libyan people are tired of foreign interventionism to control who gets its oil, and in what denomination that oil is sold.

US Air Raids: The Unlearned Lesson of Libya

In 2011 NATO air strikes against Libya that were carried out under the pretext of the urgent need of protecting civilians from a “violent dictator“, cleared the road to power for radical militants. Three years ago, once Muammar Gaddafi had been brutally murdered in October 2011, these militants took over Libya by filling the vacuum created by foreign intervention. From that moment on the country had been plunged deeper into bloodshed created by the former revolutionaries as they cut each other’s throats in a fight for rich oil-producing regions.

So far, the only thing US military intervention has done in Iraq, Libya, and (soon) Syria, is to make the situation worse.

In Defense of Helen Thomas: What’s Wrong With History?

Helen Thomas’s recent request to purchase a table at the upcoming White House Correspondents Association (WHCA) annual dinner has been rejected.

It is because of Thomas as much as anyone else that women were first included at the WHCA dinner since, as the WHCA’s website mentions:
